Didn’t I say that my duration would shrink! And it did. I had better depth of mind in the evening session than the one at night. By night, my attention knew that there is another new depth coming. My attention shied to the point that I didn’t get as deep as to perceive sounds in my head.

Perceiving sounds is a peculiar meditational phenomenon. As you begin calming with the help of the calming technique of your choice, you actually free up the life energies that are caught in dot-knots in your body-mind joint venture. Eventually, enough life energies are freed and they begin their journey up the spine. They move towards the head where all your meditations take place.

Once in the head, life energies are recognised as Peace. At first, Peace envelopes the brain or at least that’s how it feels. In another round of Peace filling the head, life energies seem to run through the capillaries in the brain. The perception of the sound of capillaries stretching is real for the meditator.

My latest experience is that the perceived sound has become fixed. Instead of being shifty, it is now fixed. Maybe a particular route has been chosen by the blessed life energies. The fixed nature of perceived sound is giving Peace direction. When no sounds are perceived, I meditate in Peace. When I perceive sounds, I grow as a meditator.

i could be good.

a good artist, with shapes smooth and jagged and warm and cold, from the beach shore to a woman who's eyes don't give away what she thinks. feels. experiences.

her eyes wouldn't be mine, they'd be dark. cold. not blue and wide with every thought splayed out for anyone attentive enough to read, nothing between the lines except a blank white. i like to make things easy for everyone else. i like to say things straight and regret it later.

the woman has a hand on her hip, her waist is covered in black fabric. she's thin. her hobbies include disappearing into the night and having red lipstick that doesn't look silly.

i eat fruit with my bare hands and wipe the juice on my jeans, doomscroll, overshare, cry until the red blotches on my face resemble something keyboard warriors would refer to as 'blush blindness'.

if looks could kill. if looks could kill the woman i dream of drawing would be a weapon. she has no wedding ring. she has no childhood. no nostalgia to cling to like a lifeline (or a noose), no summers to miss only to realize it's not the summer. it's the people you spoke to. it's who you loved but the woman i'll never be good enough to draw can't love, she can only look at men who line up next to her and say 'next!' in a voice that sounds like she smokes just the right amount of cigarettes.

if i could be the woman i'll never be able to create i'd eat fruit with my bare hands and stare as the juice drips down my wrists. i'd write love letters to a boy i won't have and cut deep for something to use as lipstick. if i could draw her i'd destroy her. i'd become her. everyone would have to read between the lines until i was so unhappy they'd become blank once again.

VALTTERI BOTTAS will continue in Hinwil, Switzerland, in the Swiss team with its headquarters at the factory for the third season in 2024 as well.

The Finnish driver thus completes his original 2+1 year option contract.

There will be no public announcement about Bottas's, 34, finished extension.

"There is nothing to announce about next year. I have a ticket for next year, the contract is already fixed. At some point, we'll start talking from there", Bottas confirms in a phone interview with Sanoma.

This season, the team bearing the name Alfa Romeo will change its name next season.

"Alfa Romeo is leaving, but there is no name yet (for the new team). It could be Sauber, but of course it also depends on the sponsors, if a bigger company wants to be our title sponsor," Bottas says.

The engine remains a Ferrari. Hopes are then focused on the new car built by the Hinwil factory, which has strengthened its staff.

Bottas started a year and a half ago at Alfa Romeo, he made a promising start.

In the first nine races, he finished in the points seven times, and despite the starting difficulties that marked the end of the season, there were still two more points.

In the current season, 14 race weekends have now been run.

For Alfa Romeo, the World Series has offered mostly disappointments throughout. At the team's home race in Monza, Bottas still managed to score one additional point for the Swiss team.

Bottas has collected six points this season, the team's other driver Zhou Guanyu has four points.

"Monza weekend was nice. It was nice to get even one point. That was better than nothing," Bottas states.

"But in general, this has not been an easy season. It hasn't been as fast as it should have been. Performance is needed if you want to score points more often," Bottas ponders.

Is it a surprise that your main opponents are now Haas and Williams, when last year you struggled in the middle group and left behind Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo in the Drivers' Championship?

"Of course, this is such an unexpected surprise. Of course, the goal was not to fight in these places and with those teams. We clearly expected better. But this is the situation now and we have to focus on the future – and of course also on next year's car."

Bottas assures that his motivation is good.

"You just have to focus on the development work and press forward with all your might."
