I've found the 4kids Dub...

Yes... after years of searching (only for a month, I've been searching) the series that did Sanji dirty and the characters' voices dirty (no offense, at least Zoro and (maybe) Crocodile is a bit decent. Please don't attack me)...

By the way, Episode 04, 03 Chasing Luffy is missing from this collection, and Episode 02, 03 Luffy vs. Zolo! is duplicated.

Rating 500+ Theme Tunes - #5: Ultimate Muscle

Wrestling and anime is such a beautiful tag team to be seen so rarely. Ultimate Muscle is the localised name for Kinnikuman: Second Generation, which is actually a sequel to the original Kinnukuman. The original never reached the West outside of some weird M.U.S.C.L.E. toys, but this sequel was localised for the FoxBox block, a.k.a 4Kids, as well as airing on Kix and other channels internationally. It follows Kid Muscle and other superhero wrestlers continuing the legacy of their famous parents.

For the number one wrestling fan you know, I actually didn't watch that much Ultimate Muscle. However, that was still a good deal, and was not for a lack of trying. This show aired on Kix over here in the UK, which I would often watch whenever there was nothing on its sister channel Pop. This show's airing schedule there never really lined up for me, and I would often miss it as a result.

At the same time, I thought this show was real cool! I really like the way it looks today, and I always enjoyed the outlandish takes on the world of wrestling! So many of Kid Muscle's moves are super cool to be honest with you. I would absolutely love to watch through this one today, even if some of the humour and tone are not exactly aimed at me. I just love a cool wrestling story!

Ultimate Muscle Theme Tune

This theme song is absolutely ridiculous. Giant brassy notes, endless rhymes, "Strength and speed and... flatulence?". Absolutely no notes. I think it's super super goofy, but I gotta be honest with you: I love it and it works. Say what you will about it as a dub, but this song fits that dub to a tee as far as I remember. It's a really catchy tune too, I'm always singing it to myself with all the different voices they incorporate, all four of them. Mike Pollock as Meat, you will always be famous. It's a truly wild song, but I think you simply have to love it. You can't make SIX consecutive rhymes without being somewhat beloved.

This one might be controversial, but I actually think this is getting an A! I promise there's some themes I dislike...

The funimation localization talk reminds me whilst they seem to have gotten better lately, they did real terrible localization changes that fans entirely gave them a a pass on.

Like giving Vegeta a line about how his bad childhood made him a villain when he originally said nothing like that. They also altered lines in flashbacks about Vegeta's fathe to make him a hero when originally he was a powerhungry villain that only tried to overthrow fellow villain, Frieza, so as to replace him, raising the questions to english fans about why Vegeta's dad was in Hell.

Similarly Goku is given a Superman esque "I don't kill people" stance, even though he kills people all the time and the only reason he doesn't kill people like Vegeta in the Saiyan Saga, is because he loves fighting strong warriors and finds it a waste to kill them.

Or another time, Bulma and Chi-Chi were having a casual conversation in the Japanese version, which the english version turned to them wanting to trade husbands and referring to Krillin as a downgrade.

This again didn't make sense with the animation such as Krillin laughing when Chi-Chi insulted him in the dub or Chi-Chi's dislike of Vegeta+saiyan warrior culture in Japanese.

And to think (afaik?) that Funi's dub was the one who yeeted to Falconer OST to return to the original one ! - but they still had to bring some unecessary edits...

Goku not killing people? Seriously? I guess Tao Pai Pai survived, but at the time Goku threw him his bomb, I don't think he planned for him to survive - granted, DB and DBZ Goku are, at times, completely different characters...

tbf the "i don't kill people if they're strong so we can fight again" is utter nonsense, if Frieza being "supposedly" vaporise on Namek when he tried to backstab him is any indication - Vegeta might have gotten a pass because Goku didn't defeat him himself (it was a combined effort of Krilin, Gohan and gfdi Yajirobe) - but Goku at the end of the Namek Saga meant for Frieza to die (when Frieza pisses on his mercy and tries to kill him after using the "plz spare me plz" card once!).

Bulma trash talking Krilin is a normal staple in their relationship, but why adding Chi-Chi to the mix lol?

Anyways, I agree with you on one point, the Funi of 2020 isn't the Funi of the early 2000s and it's, imo, a step in the good direction, and while I confess I'm utterly biased because I grew up in the 4Kids era... the dubbing industry has made gigantic steps since that era - which makes nonsense like Pat's Fire Emblem TreeHouse look even more ridiculous and upsetting, given how this was released in 2019 and not in 1999.

LMAO so funny thing is everyone knows the whole Sonic and Shadow looking alike thing is total bullshit and I totally agree those comments they try to pull in the games and show(s? I'm not technically a Sonic fan I dunno if it's multiple) make basically no sense to me but then my Mom comes in while watching Sonic Prime and says "So what, Sonic has a brother or something?" and this whole other world has opened up to me and I've seen the truth of it all

Zoey Hanson : That's me alright. I'm Zoey Hanson.

Ichigo Kurosaki: I heard that you must be the superhero that is star of the show, Mew Mew Power, is that the name of your show.

Zoey Hanson : I think so, and by the way, it's Tokyo Mew Mew, not Mew Mew Power!

Ichigo Kurosaki : Ah-ha! I know who you are! You're from Studio Pierrot that made your show right about two years before me, the current Ichigo!

Zoey Hanson/Ichigo : Okay, fine! You got me! I'm not Zoey Hanson or the other Zoe Hange. I'm the character that you were namesaken by me, Ichigo Momomiya!

Everything was great in 2002, but then you came, the new and current Ichigo! The only Ichigo that is you and I was still Zoey Hanson, but my real name is Ichigo, so you were namesaken to me the whole time before I left Studio Pierrot for no reasons. And now 10 years later, here I am seeing you, still looking alot better in manga than in the show. I've been looking for the man that Ichigo is really both a boys name and a girl's name, why would the name Ichigo be a name for a boy!? WHY JAPAN! WHY WOULD YOU GIVE THE NAME ICHIGO FOR A BOY AND A GIRL!? WHYYYYYYYYYY!?! *breathes heavily*

Rukia : Guys! Guys! How many times do we have tell you. Every character in Japan shares the name Ichigo, because the name is a word for Strawberry!

Kurosaki & Momomiya : Oh, that's right. Everybody shares the same name as "Ichigo" which is the japanese word for strawberry. Wow, why didn't we think of that Ichigo is the word for Strawberry, we weren't named after or namesaken to people, we were named after and namesaken to a fruit!

Momomiya : Why didn't you tell me our names is actually food!?

Kurosaki : I know, man! I mean Chad's name comes from a country call Chad, Anybody knows that every citizen is Chad, who else but Chad!?

Momomiya : And 4Kids had no rights to change my name to Zoey Hanson, to keep everything secret! And I'm tired of singing the National Anthem, so that is why we are giving up 4KIDS, death to english dub posers!

*Tire Screeching*

Kurosaki : Uhh, 4Kids is already dead after the home network of our shows, lawsuited them for editing out Japanese animation if it hadn't been for Naruto on Cartoon Network and Disney XD, America couldn't do anything right for the country, but hey, he has his show on Toonami...on Adult Swim at least.

Momomiya : Yeah, you're right. Ichigo is just a reference to food, not human.

Kurosaki : You got that right.

Ichigo from DITFXX : Hey, what about me! I'm the only person from a mecha show that has a name for Ichi-

Momomiya : No!

Ichigo from DITFXX : W-Why?

Momomiya : You know why? Because you don't even exist here in life. The name Ichigo doesn't count for giant machines like you!

Ichigo from DITFXX : Oh, crud! *POOF!*

Momomiya : Glad we never see that one again.

Hiro : Hey, other Ichigos. Where did our Ichigo run off at? Where's the other Ichigo at? Where is our Ichigo?

Kurosaki : Oh, your ichigo? We didn't know that was your Ichigo.

Momomiya : We might've sent her away from a place where she meets her ultimate demise!

Kurosaki : Why did you even say that.

(cuts to Ichigo who is now a strawberry)

Ichigo from DITFXX : (as a Strawberry) Oh! Where am I? I don't remember ending up being a fruit am I? At least I had some diginity as a fruit and a fantastic-- (a worm comes crawling down) Oh, hey a strawberry worm. How are you doing there? Hey, what's going on? What do you think you're doing? H-Hey, no! Get out of there! No stop! (the worm starts enter inside by eating her) OH GOD! IT'S INSIDE ME! SOMEONE HELP! I'VE BEEN EATEN BY FRUIT-EATING TW*T! SOMEBODY HELP ME! OH GO-O-O-O-OD!!! SOMEONE HELP ME-E-E-E-EEEE!!!

(Scene cuts back to the gang)

Hiro : You really did "what" to her?

Momomiya : We thought it was a good suggestion.

Kurosaki : It's really a hard pass that the word Strawberry sounds fruitier than Ichigo.

Momomiya : Yep. Sounds fruitier than Ichigo.

Hiro : Well, yeah! I guess Ichigo sounds frutier than the name itself.

A Worthy Competitor

There's no need to watch Pokémon Journeys or that other Pokémon anime. If you want to watch a show about some kids traveling the world while catching monsters, just watch Dinosaur King.

This show is based on an arcade game where you battle dinosaurs against one another using collectible cards.

While Dinosaur King isn't on the popularity scale as other shows like Yo-Kai Watch, the characters are all enjoyable to watch and have clear motives laid out for them. The show is only enhanced with its appealing art style, good writing, and comedy that's ACTUALLY funny. And unlike in Pokémon Journeys or that OTHER anime, the characters have a handy method of getting to different locations across the earth without the hassle of vehicles. (They also manage to get ALL the creatures. Unlike Goh...)

To make matters even worse for modern Pokémon television animation, most of the characters have the same actors and voices as the ones from the Pokémon anime back when 4Kids dubbed the show.

Dinosaur King might not be perfect to some people. But what I mentioned proves that it runs laps around Pokémon Journeys and Pokémon Horizons for days.
