I know these mfs arent overworking their poor animators just to animate every since with a female character with 30 seconds anime booby physics to meet the deadline tf man is it that hard to pay your employee REASONABLY and not overwork them nobody gives a fuck about anime booby physics all im asking is to give them mfs a break and a paycheck that lets them actually be able to afford necessities smh

The real issues with Wrath of the Gods animation in my eyes.

No memes. No easy potshots.

To start with, I think that it would've benefited them if the split the 24 episodes production wise. One to be released at the start of a year and the other at the tail end of autumn. And yes, that includes the cliffhangers if only to drive up hype. Let them focus their efforts on one batch at a time before loosening up.

That said, it feels like the switch over to Studio Deen was a mighty hasty decision. A-1 Pictures likely had their reasons for backing out. Hell, it's immense restraint with how many studios are trying to put out more than what their workforce can reasonably manage.

Even then, I think what hurt the look of Season 3 was a lack of directional flair or problem solving tricks. A lot of shots often have the characters are distance, often contributing to the rather rough artstyle (you know the one, "Meguca" fans). This is compounded by the choice to linger on them, even when a shot is crowded.

There are times like when the Sins gather to hear Meliodas's explain the curse on him and Elizabeth where there are many shots that crowd in everybody into focus. It feels like we could close up on those speaking rather than trying to let it go on for so long.

Then there's where Chandler teleports into the Boar Hat and Diane, all giant and on the roof, vaults down to save Elizabeth and Mel. It's all an external shot that ends only when King comes in to help but it feels... weird. Like we should've seen Diane vault over the roof but then cut to her hand breaking in to grab her friends and the back to her outside making sure they're safe.

And this isn't an isolated incident. When Gilthunder goes in to embrace Margret, the Arkangel possessed princess walks past him as a real red flag. However, the shot starts with Gilthunder going off-screen towards Ludociel and has us here the cold passing-by off screen before he/she comes on-screen in the same frame. It feels like whatever was supposed to be edited in between wasn't done in time.

Something I think that could've justified them drawing the characters in less detail were comedic scenes. When the Sins are gathered and are overlooking Bartra, they could've shown the king's esasperation via exagerated expressions that Anime is often known for. Maybe get way cartoony with chibis.

It just feels like outside of the egrigious art work moments, the animation direction is... serviceable yet also biting off more than what they could chew. It ends up very "just do the bare minimum and shove out product as fast as you can" in a sort of cynicism.

That's the real issue with Studio Deen's approach to their run beyond what shot looks weird. And it feels like they wanted to later, in gaming terms, patch it with far more polished shots. Evidenced by how the season starts with censoring excessive blood for the TV broadcast.

It's a shame because Cursed By Light really afforded them the chance to well and truly cook as the kids say, flexing for what was the Seven Deadly Sins' grand finale. The CGi on the Supreme Diety was immaculate.

Juvia : Please, guys? Can we please just let us celebrate our days?

Natsu : What are you ladies talking about? Lucy and Juvia day was overrated. We're chilling out with some snacks and playing some video games. You'll get your chance to celebrate your days, next time.

Lucy : Oh brother, THIS DAY SUCKS!

Juvia : What a rip.

Natsu : Oh score, dawg! In yo face! King Natsu the Gaming champ! Hater gonna hate!

Gray : (Sighs) Beaten like several times a day. Never gets old.

*alternate scene*

Lucy : So, guys. Now that you will celebrate our days.

Juvia : We baked you all a delicious cake.

Natsu : [To Lucy] You expect us to believe this and we survived the fight just for some cake!?

Grey : [To Juvia] We all just died in horrendous battle, you piece of--

(SHING!)

Erza : (behind Natsu and Grey) Enjoy the cake now, or I'll make you enjoy it by myself.

Natsu : Fine, fine! We'll enjoy this cake.

Gray : We'll try.

(both of them taste of the cake)

Natsu : Well, this cake is really delicious.

Grey : This is a good piece of cake.

Juvia : Do you love it?

Lucy : We made it our selves.

Natsu : Wow! This cake is delicious.

Grey : This taste good. Not bad, you know this reminds me of--

*CRACK!*

Grey : Uhh, girls? Where did you put in this stuff in the cake?

Lucy : I reminded something real good, It's my special ingredient. I made it just for you.

Juvia : And don't forget that I added secret recipe to our cake.

Grey : Then what was something cracked in my mouth?

Natsu : Did you fed us cake filled with...NUTS!?!

Lucy : I forgot...They're allergic to peanuts.

ANIME REVIEW | "Mashle: Magic and Muscles" | B3 - Boston Bastard Brigade

In the last twenty-five years, the young adult fiction world has been bombarded with tales of magic and fantasy. From your Harry Potters and Percy Jacksons to even your Count Olafs and…whatever the hell Eragon was, many of these stories use sorcery and spells to defeat the greatest of evils. But isn’t it about time we find a hero for the young adult audience that just straight-up punches evil square in the face? Thankfully, we have Mash Burnedead (Chiaki Kobayashi), the hero of Mashle: Magic and Muscles, to handle such a task.

Based on the manga by Hajime Komoto, Mashle takes place in a world where one’s power and magic will define their place in society. But there’s a problem with Mash: he’s got zero magic to work with, making him a mark for execution by society. So ever since he was but a tiny infant, Mash has taken the proper steps to make up for a lack of magic: muscle training! In fact, his strength has gotten so good, that even strong magic users have trouble dealing with him.

For years, Mash and his grandfather Regro (Chō) have lived a peaceful and far-from-quiet life in the woods, away from magic users catching wind of Mash’s problem. But all secrets have to be let out one day, and it results in a pair of magical police officers trying to take Mash away. Being the hero of this story and all, Mash makes mince meat out of the cops, of whom one of them makes a tantalizing offer: go to Easton Magic Academy, earn the title of Divine Visionary, and change the way society views those who are magic-less.

With weights, magic books, and cream puffs all packed away, Mash Burnedead sets off to become the Divine Visionary. Despite his odd behavior, Mash manages to earn himself quite a few friends. From the nervous Finn Ames (Reiji Kawashima) and lovesick Lemon Irvine (Reina Ueda) to the hot-headed Bakugo Dot Barrett (Takuya Eguchi) and the siscon Lance Crown (Kaito Ishikawa), Mash’s fellow students help him find a place in the magic academy. However, they are often surprised by the sort of “magic” Mash is capable of, which is…not of the norm.
