If I were to tag it, I'd put: 6b fix fic, Liam-centric, action fic but with feelings, bedtime confessions, opening up to each other, Theo knows how to cook gourmet meals (or not), fantastic rendition of Peter Yale's sass and drama, fantastic rendition of everyone's flair and personality, enemies to friends to lovers, Thiam, Liam Dunbar/Theo Reaken, background morey/Scalia, Mason for the win

This is a rewriting of 6b, from the point of view of Liam. It's very sweet and cleverly written, I really liked how his emotions were being discussed by himself and with Theo. They spend the majority of the scenes (and of 6b) together and there's a great transition from ex enemies to confessors, to trusted friends, and it was very lovely to read (and to listen to. I'm that weird person that listens to fanfictions, yes.).

I loved the discussion about Theo not being able to take Mason's pain because, Mason dear, ily, but that was a shitty thing to say, and we actually don't really know how it works, do we? And I liked the explanation given here, how it's about being open to your emotions. Which, you know, makes sense, because it's about taking in someone else's emotions and if you can't deal with yours, you can't deal with someone else's.

I also learnt something about me. The author talks about anger and what makes people angry. For Liam, it's fear, it's canon. For Theo, it's being overwhelmed by feelings, and I think caring for people and being cared for. And I think that for me, it's about being hurt.

“You never give up” “thank you for not giving up” “you’re the guy who never gives up” —a direct parallel to the fans who will hold hope for Buddie til the very end. As long as Buck’s not giving up-we’re not giving up. (Tbf though as long as the show ends with their bond remaining intact I’ll be fine—but if they call Eddie straight? The I feel like she sees me line being said to Eddie who is the person that truly sees Buck for all that he is. Are we supposed to take this line at face value which would indicate piss poor writing because they needed to rush to a horrible ending or do we take it as Buck being an unreliable narrator? What was the audience supposed to interpret from Buck saying that, were we truly supposed to believe him or we supposed to be pissed at Buck for saying this to the one person that truly sees Buck?

Good morning to me, I guess.

I'm assuming you haven't really seen people's reactions in the fandom on tumblr because I feel like I saw this said in quite a few posts going around, but you are absolutely not supposed to take this line at face value. I'm surprised that people think you should. 9-1-1 has from the beginning had a habit of turning friendships into romantic relationships (Bathena and Madney) and taking their time with these things rather than having an instalove situation. Even Karen and Hen, who meet when they're set up on a date together, don't instantly fall in love. I do not think they would set Eddie or Buck up for an endgame relationship with a woman by having them date that woman immediately, even if they didn't plan to make Buddie canon.

Buck is clearly struggling post-death. He's lost and once again looking for the answer from a romantic partner. He did a lot of growth in regards to his family relationships this season but not his romantic ones. Remember, his couch ended up destroyed and he asked his latest girlfriend to pick the new one out for him. Again. He's still not picking his own damn couch. After being unable to sleep on the one his mom gave him but passed out instantly on Eddie's where he ran to feel safe.

If people think this is all, somehow, an accident or the writers are doing this without knowing what they're doing, then I can't help you. Do you also think the symbolism I put into my fanfics are a total accident? Do you guys think I picked the name of the poem "Fuchsia Emerald Alizarin Rose" just because the colors are fun and they accidentally spell out F.E.A.R. or do you think maybe I did that absolutely 100% on purpose and was waiting for someone to realize?

Buck saying that to Eddie is 100% supposed to make the audience raise their eyebrows. Especially when we see Eddie's reaction. He's confused and he's hurt and he's annoyed. Eddie then spends his next few lines showing Buck (and us) that he sees Buck. Buck misses it, it goes right over his head, but the audience is shown that Buck is wrong and Eddie sees him.

I think there was a lot of internal stuff going on behind the scenes way high up the ladder that meant Buddie didn't happen this season. No, I don't mean that in a tinhatting way, I just mean that they knew Fox wouldn't renew them, they didn't know if they'd get picked up somewhere else, Fox hasn't promoted or cared about this show the way it has its other shows in a while, and I think it's pretty clear there was shuffling and changes going on with 6B. So I think things had to be put off. Similar to the pandemic, where I genuinely wonder what kind of season four we would've gotten if we'd had the full 18 episodes and hadn't had to work around Covid. I think that when we know there was a big shift going on behind the scenes, we need to have some grace and patience in how that will effect the story that's told on screen.

But I think that this default to "everything good we see on our screens is an accident and the writers are making shitty choices" is a horrible bad faith argument, and it's exhausting. Aren't you exhausted? I'm exhausted. Fandom shouldn't treat the writing and production team like their enemies any more than the writing and production team should treat the fans like their enemies in some kind of war they have to win (looking at you, GoT showrunners).

We are supposed to be annoyed that Buck is missing the point. We are supposed to see Buck's yearning to be a husband and a father, and how he's missing what's right in front of him. We are supposed to put two and two together and see that Eddie was hurt by Buck's words, that Eddie sees Buck, that Eddie is Buck's safe place, and that Eddie in that moment decided he might not have a chance with Buck and needs to move on, because previously we saw Eddie admit he wants romance again but he doesn't want to go out on dates, we saw his aunt say she met her husband through work, we saw him say 'we have time' and then we saw him immediately after Buck tells him about this new girl who "sees him" flee to visit his mother and then immediately actually try dating. On a meta level this is also because Eddie needs confidence in himself as a romantic partner and needs some more experience under his belt before he's ready to take the plunge with Buck, but in Eddie's mind, I think it's pretty clear he feels Buck will never want him back and he's trying to find the love he wants somewhere else, even if his heart is still Buck's.

So that's what I think. I think it's not explicitly spelled out for a few reasons, but frankly if one of them was a woman we wouldn't need it explicitly spelled out and personally I kinda like that it's not. Something that annoys me with M/F pairings is the constant "we all know you two like each other" talks from third parties that half the time aren't about the characters but are about the audience, to either tell the audience SEE THEY LIKE EACH OTHER THAT'S WHAT THIS IS ABOUT or to give the audience some fanservice while the characters aren't ready to get together. I don't need to be pandered to that way, thank you, so I'm a fan of the slightly more subtle approach that I, personally, see going on with Buddie.

If you or anyone else disagrees with me and feels it was just "piss poor writing" then that's entirely your right. I'd just appreciate it if people who feel that way would stop watching the show, and stop putting their complaints into the inboxes of people who clearly do enjoy the show.

TL;DR - You answered your own question, Buck is an unreliable narrator (and always has been) and we are supposed to be frustrated he said this to Eddie who has proven time and again (and does so in that very scene) that he sees Buck.

The thing with how I see CIA Two in my head is like. I haven't engagex with any tv or extended canon Gallifrey politics or depictions of this era buy I think it's like. I don't know if it's my belief in the doctor in general or the Draft Dodger projecting or whatever but I think however much they force his hand to work for them and do what they want, the can't entirely control him. He is gonna be a part of things he'd rather not and move them along by supporting but I don't think he would let himself be out in a position of directly violating his personal beliefs or directly harming people more than he finds acceptable. They can control him but they can't control him, y'know.

"All our needs are met by this land, not by Enbridge.” That’s what Wenipashtaabe (Sandy Gokee), an Anishinaabe water protector, told the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) at a June 4 public hearing in Ashland, Wisconsin about a proposal to reroute Enbridge’s Line 5 oil pipeline. Line 5 currently trespasses through the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa’s reservation in northern Wisconsin, and a federal judge last year ordered Enbridge to remove that segment of pipeline off the tribe’s land by June 2026. Enbridge’s plan is to reroute the pipeline, but the company needs approval from the USACE first.

[...]At the meeting, Tribal leaders and environmental advocates from across the region voiced concern about the proposed reroute. That’s because Line 5 poses an environmental risk within Tribal boundaries—and the reroute wouldn’t change this, because it would still be located within the larger Bad River watershed. In other words, an oil spill in that area would still drain into the Bad River, endangering wetlands and groundwater along the river’s course to Lake Superior. “We said off the watershed. You said off the reservation,” Gokee told the USACE at the public hearing. The more than 70-year-old pipeline is 20 years past its expiration date. In some places, including the point where the pipeline intersects with a “meander” in the Bad River, it is in imminent danger of rupture.

Folks aren’t counting on Enbridge to fix this, because the Canadian energy company has a terrible track record. A rupture in another major Enbridge pipeline, 6B, caused the 2010 Kalamazoo River spill, which dumped nearly a million gallons of crude oil into the water over the course of 18 hours before Michigan authorities (not Enbridge) reported the spill. It’s one of the largest inland oil spills in US history. Construction along Enbridge’s Line 3 has caused ongoing harm in Minnesota, where Enbridge contractors released toxic fracking fluids while drilling under waterways, and destroyed wetlands.

The proposed new segment of Line 5 would cross and endanger nearly 200 bodies of water and over 100 acres of wetland as it passes through Ashland and Iron Counties. The $450 million reroute would require temporarily and permanently discharging fill material into wetlands, horizontal drilling under the White River (which flows into the Bad River), and would cause the loss or alteration of wetlands in the 30- to 50-foot wide maintenance corridor surrounding the pipeline, USACE states in an analysis of the plan.

“I can drink the water here now. Let’s keep it that way,” added Gokee at the public hearing.

I just had a thought regarding the “Tim should punish Buddie fans” of it all. Because at the end of the day it’s a TV show, the thing they care most about is ratings. Tim has admitted that the show got worse and ratings got worse when he stopped writing Buddie scenes (something I’m sure ABC is very aware of). So it honestly shouldn’t matter if some Buddie fans are annoying - we represent the majority opinion, which affects the ratings. Yeah they may lose some of the gained viewers from the BT stans if they breakup but it’s nothing on the viewers they’ll lose if they force Eddie into another straight relationship and separate Buck and Eddie for separate endgames.

Okay, pure speculation here, but the show is a business as much as it is a story and a show has to deal with stuff a book or a movie don't. Since the story is not contained, they need to adapt to the circumstances in which it is airing. We know for a fact that fox was against Buck being bi and that gives us the chance to infer that they were against the buddie thing as a whole. We know this was supposed to happen during s4, we know s5 separates Buck and Eddie physically since Eddie leaves the station, so that reduces their screentime without major problems because while we were getting less casual buddie since they weren't working together, we got a lot of quality buddie during Eddie's breakdown. They continued to reduce the Buck and Eddie of it all during 6a. No one was happy about it. We were NOT happy that we were missing out on their dynamic except for a few moments that were thrown in. That so created a problem that they overcorrect that in 6b. We all knew the lightning was coming but the promo had a lot of Eddie's reaction to it, we even got a bts video of Ryan running up the ladder, the do more was the teaser scene we got, when we got recovery and mixed feelings, with recovery giving us some quality buddie, and mixed feelings giving us a lot of buddie overall. Obviously, the threat of cancellation made them shift things around, we know there were reshoots, we know they tried to wrap things up in case that was the final season, and that made them drop the ball with buddie for a second there after the cemetery, but they fixed that during s7, because there was a LOT of buddie, especially considering it was reduced season. Abc has a lot of good queer rep, they seem to like their glaad awards nominations. We obviously have no idea of why fox was blocking biBuck, and again, pure speculation, but I am willing to bet you that the buddie of it all was part of the conversation while the buy was being negotiated or at least while they were discussing the plans to integrate 911 to abc once the buy was finalized. The abc people have an outside perspective on buddie, the same way we do, and buddie is a compelling dynamic that can be a gold mine if they play their cards right. If, I, a random person on the internet with a blog and hyperfixation and nothing to gain from it, can reach the conclusion that getting buddie together can bring them a shit load of exposure, I guarantee you that someone there reached that conclusion too. I believe they sat down with the team and asked "what's the deal with Buck and Eddie? Is there a plan?" and they reached some conclusion to finally get them there because they took Ryan out of pr jail and continuously put Oliver and Ryan together leading up to the season and the Buck and Eddie talk did not stop once Buck being bi was canonically confirmed.

Logistically, if the plan was to simply make Buck bi and not make the Buck and Eddie a thing, obviously, Eddie wouldn't be involved with Buck's bi arc the way he is in the story, but they would also not involve Ryan in the promotion with Oliver like that. It's 2024, no one wants queerbaiting allegations thrown at them. We lived through the mcu, and teen wolf, and supernatural, and no one wants to be that guy. They have a compelling dynamic that's been drawing people in for years, and they could've gone the whole show with both of them being perceived as straight in universe, keep doing what they were doing, leave us in the will they/won't they, and keep our part of the audience forever because we would keep coming back waiting to see them together. Personally, I think Buck being bi was a trial run in many ways from the business side of it. Buck is extremely well liked by the audience, he is a fan favorite, so people are a lot more lenient with his shit than other characters, that means that if Buck being bi was poorly received by the general audience, they could backtrack him out of it a lot easier and just introduce another pretty girl and not go there. Male bisexual rep is also not all that common, it's usually the pretty girl best friend that you later find out had a girlfriend in college who may or may not be in love with the female lead, so it stands on its own in the conversation. And, well, Buck being bi was extremely well received. Ship war aside, there is a significant part of the new influx of people who are just as invested in the Buck and Eddie of it all even with another male love interest in the mix. And there was a huge influx of people. Somewhere in the 911 team, someone is making predictions and they are aware that Eddie being queer will have the same type of reaction. Eddie might not be as popular as Buck on his own, but with the added fact that queer Eddie means buddie is coming, they get the same boom that biBuck had. They also became the first media to do this. No superhell, no complicated feelings for a car, no going back to the past. Just a compelling relationship between two male characters that's been drawing people in since the beginning that changed into something romantic and requited. They would be the first to take the popular m/m ship that drives the internet crazy and make it happen. I know of a lot of traumatized destiel or sterek or stucky or whatever else who are waiting for Eddie to be confirmed queer to start watching the show with the whole 911 already had queer rep, Buck being bi is no guarantee they'll follow through, I don't wanna be disappointed again. Which is fair, but it is a second wave of people that could come into the show. Buck and Eddie are unheard of rep. It's a 6+ seasons queer slowburn. They are best friends, they have a kid, their devotion to each other is very clear. Abc has the chance to go full Elle Woods "what like it's hard?" to every queerbaity ship that came before buddie. Especially considering we have Oliver on record multiple times saying fox was blocking it. And that would make them so much money. So much exposure. We're talking become subjects in television history classes for the rest of times because they were the first to pull through. We're not just talking ratings, we're talking being put next to genre-defining couples in media. They are a gold mine that Oliver and Ryan are on board with, that Tim seems to be on board with and that abc clearly likes using for promotion so they at least understand the numbers they could bring, so not going there because a fraction of the fandom is being bitchy on the internet is bad business.

Season 6 gave them the perfect opening to separate Buck and Eddie but they used season 7 to bring them closer together than they've ever been. If the plan was to make them end up with other people, they had the chance to make that clear this season, and they didn't. They're not gonna throw it away like this to "punish fans". They would be punishing themselves.

seeing writers mischaracterize their own characters so egregiously and jumping through hoops to justify mischaracterizing these characters instead of telling the narrative that would make the most sense while simultaneously shrugging at fans who are actually begging for the them to just simply do their jobs and follow through on things that they themselves set up within the narrative and saying “we don’t want to force anything, we just want to tell the story naturally” is one of the most infuriating parts of being in this fandom because why do some people on ao3 have a better understanding of these characters and the tone and core message if the show than the show’s actual writing team

let some ao3 authors get in that writers room for literally just a couple episodes and i swear to you it would be a better watch experience for everyone than the entirety of 6b-7b and would probably fix the mistakes of s6/7 much quicker than the writers would

The thing that Buck forgot to consider when he agreed to Bobby’s undercover scheme is that he really, really sucks at poker. 

As in, down to three chips after as many hands sucks at poker. 

“Guess I’m all in,” Buck jokes, placing his chips in the center of the table as the blind bet. 

The woman opposite him fixes Buck with an unimpressed look. 

Eddie, sitting next to him, snorts. Buck kicks him under the table. 

The dealer slings out two cards to each of them. Buck lifts the corners of his for a peek and–

Fuck. 

A two of hearts and a six of spades. 

The bet goes around the table until it reaches Eddie, who glances at his cards, gives Buck an unreadable look, and doubles the bet. 

The betting continues, the face up community cards are dealt, and sure enough, Buck’s fucked. His best hand is a pair of sixes, and with all but one player still in the game, he doubts that’ll win him shit. 

“Call,” Eddie says, tapping the table, and the round is over. 

Buck turns his cards over and the woman across from him snorts derisively, then flips her cards to reveal three queens. No one else at the table has her beat. No one except–

Eddie smiles innocently and drops his hand on the table, revealing a flush. “Sorry,” he says, sounding anything but. 

Buck wants to rib him, maybe lean a little dramatically into his loss, but tonight he and Eddie are strangers, and Buck no longer has a reason to be at the table. He pushes his chair back and stands. “It’s been fun,” he begins, “but–”

“You can’t leave now,” Eddie interrupts. He tilts his chin up to look directly at Buck and smirks. 

Buck tries not to let the confusion show on his face. “My, uh– my last three chips just joined your pile,” he says with a meaningful glance. 

“Of course they did. Sweetheart, you’re my good luck charm.”

It takes Buck a full fifteen seconds to pick his jaw up off the ground and try to respond. “Uh– well I–”

“C’mon,” Eddie says– no, practically purrs, “I’ll buy you a drink if you agree to stay.”

The back of Buck’s neck flushes warm and pink, but he sits back down and drags his chair a little closer to Eddie’s. “I’d be an idiot to say no to that,” he murmurs, and it feels just a little bit too true. 

Eddie slings an arm around Buck and turns his attention back to the dealer who’s been watching them with a bemused expression. “So,” he asks, “are we playing or not?”

Eddie’s an idiot. 

An absolute fucking idiot, for more reasons than one, but the biggest reason is currently leaning into his personal space drinking a tonic water that’s been dressed to appear alcoholic. 

Every time Eddie looks over, Buck’s watching him. And every time Eddie looks away, he can’t keep himself from looking right back. 

He’s going to start losing soon, which is going to defeat the entire point of their ruse. 

He needs a second to breathe. 

Eddie pulls a black card from his jacket and presses it into Buck’s hand, careful to conceal that it’s actually a gift card they’d purchased a few hours ago specifically for the purpose of pantomiming wealth. 

“Go get us a couple of drinks, will you?” he says with a wink. “I’ll have whatever you’re having.”

Buck shoots him a playful glare, an expression so small that no one else could possibly have caught it. He gets up from his chair and trails his fingers across Eddie’s shoulders and leans down to whisper in his ear. 

“You got it, asshole,” Buck says.

Eddie swears he can hear Buck’s smirk. 

The thing that Eddie forgot to consider when he agreed to Bobby’s undercover scheme is that he’s recently come to the conclusion that he’s been looking for love in all the wrong places, and that the right place has maybe been right in front of him the entire time. And the thing about that is, Eddie’s not ready to deal with it yet. 

He’s not ready to deal with it, but apparently he is just about ready to pull Buck into his lap and press his lips against the skin of his neck, because he has to forcibly restrain himself from doing just that when Buck returns with their drinks. 

“I’ll raise,” Eddie says distractedly, pushing a number of chips that he doesn’t bother to count into the center of the table. 

“Call,” the woman across from Buck says. 

Buck sets their drinks on the table, then leans into Eddie’s space until his lips brush against Eddie’s ear. 

“Our new friend is sitting at the bar,” he whispers. 

Eddie fails to suppress the shiver that runs down his spine. He’s so fucked.

Whatever game it is they’re playing, Buck’s pretty sure he doesn’t want it to end. 

Which is a little concerning, because Eddie’s one of the most important people in his life, maybe the most important, and he really doesn’t need to go fucking that up because he’s feeling horny. 

Still, he can’t help the thrill that runs through him when he feels Eddie shiver. 

Buck leans back in his seat and tries to watch the game, but quickly becomes distracted watching Eddie instead. 

When he has a particularly good hand, his lips press together and his fingers slide ever so slightly up and down Buck’s bicep. When he’s trying to bluff his way out of losing, Eddie’s knee knocks against Buck’s, but his face doesn’t move a millimeter. When he’s trying to read another player, the corner of his lips twitches up in a way that’s starting to drive Buck just a little bit crazy. 

They’re gathering intel, not on a date. Buck has to remember that. 

Eddie glances at him and for a split second; his expression goes soft.

Buck swallows hard.

Eddie finishes the hand then stands, pulling Buck up with him.

“I think it’s about time we go celebrate, don’t you think?” he says as suggestively as he can manage without sending himself into a tailspin. 

Buck ducks his head and smiles. “Buy me another drink and we’ll see where it goes,” he says. 

“That can be arranged,” Eddie replies, doing his best not to choke on his own tongue. 

They’ve got a job to do. The only reason Buck’s flirting with him is to keep their cover. It’s not real. Eddie just has to remember it’s not real.

It’s not a date, but if Eddie keeps looking at him like that, it’s sure as hell going to end like one. 

The worst part is, it’s not the heated looks or the whisper soft touches that are getting him anymore. No, Buck knows those are for show. It’s the warm smile Eddie keeps turning in his direction when no one seems to be looking. It’s the hand at his elbow that seems to be asking if he’s still okay with everything that’s happening. 

It’s the Eddie of it all, and Buck’s starting to realize that he doesn’t just want to sleep with his best friend. 

And that’s a problem, because he knows that for Eddie, this is all just an act. 

It’s all just an act until they reach the bar and Eddie’s eyes go wide. 

“Oh, fuck,” he says, and before Buck knows it, Eddie’s lips are on his and the entire world has frozen on its axis.

The fucking bartender. It had to be this fucking bartender, the asshole he went out on a date with two weeks ago, then promptly ghosted because he was pretentious as fuck and Eddie had neither the time nor the energy to let him down gently. 

He wouldn’t shut up about Eddie’s job during the date, and Eddie just knows he’ll blow their cover if he realizes who he’s about to serve. 

So Eddie does the only thing he can think of, which, incidentally, is also the stupidest thing he’s ever thought of. 

He kisses Buck. 

Eddie kisses Buck and he’s pretty sure he’s never going to be able to kiss anyone else again.

Eddie kisses him, and when Buck’s brain finally catches up, he kisses back like his life depends on it. 

Hell, maybe it does. The people they’re here to spy on are dangerous, and it’s not like Eddie’s kissing him for no reason.

He fists his hands in Eddie’s jacket and deepens the kiss. If this is the only time he’s ever going to get this, he’s not letting it go to waste.

After what feels like forever and not nearly long enough, Eddie breaks the kiss, panting. He glances towards the bar and sees that the bartender is now focused on several patrons at the other end, giving them plenty of time to make themselves scarce. 

“What was that for?” Buck whispers, just as out of breath as Eddie. 

“The uh– I know the bartender,” Eddie replies. “Sorry about that.”

He’s not sorry at all, actually. 

“Oh,” Buck says, in a tone Eddie can’t read at all. “Okay, so–”

I'm trying (and failing!) to find a WangXian fix I read years ago on Ao3.

From what I remember, Wei WuXian was a Captive of the Wen and kept in a high tower where is tortured and chained with a small window and Lan Zhan also gets captured and put in the same cell of Wei WuXian.

Lan Zhan is there when the Wen soldiers drag Wei WuXian away for torture and they bond. Later Lan Zhan finds out Wei WuXian is a Phoenix and the Wens want his tears. Wen Qing and Wen Ning are his only friends.

Wei WuXian helps Lan Zhan escape and Lan Zhan has to convince the cultivation world to save Wei WuXian but by the time they reach the Wens, they see that Wei WuXian lost control of the Phoenix and Lan Zhan calms him down amidst the fire.

I also remember the fic mentionimg that a Phoenix meant Goodluck.

A) first one is canon divergence from qiongqi path, i remember that wwx almost dies but puts his consciousness into a paperman and his body is somewhat preserved by wen qing till they can find a way to heal him and then transfer his consciousness back but they pretend he died to the other sects (i remember they even go check his body) i remember the wen remnants go to lotus pier pretending to be related to ppl from yunmeg and jzx survives. the whole mess with mxy and the summoning array happens but it fucks it up a little since wwx isn’t actually dead and he becomes something like a spirit/ghost for a while and ends up meeting lwj by accident when he’s taming mxy back to lotus pier. they manage to heal his body and he transfers himself back in and they all live happily ever after.

B) the second one is a fic in a fic series of wangxian having more children and being very domestic that includes past lwj changing places with present lwj for a day and he basically spends the day with wwx, they go farming he helps with the kids, they see lsz for a time, unfortunately that’s all i can remember from it.

Thank you for the suggestion but that is not it, unfortunately. The one I'm looking for starts out with Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan being in this after life city. They had to struggle for a bit because there death offerings(?) were delayed. Wen Qing was a doctor in the town and helped heal Jin Zixuan from an injury at one point. The reason everyone's offerings were delayed was because there was a new Ruler, who ended up being Wei Wuxian. He had absolutely no memory of anyone, but allowed Jiang Yanli to visit him. He would hear a song (Wangxian) played as a tribute(?) but didn't know who played it.

It was about WWX who, during the first Burial Mounds siege, was transformed into a rabbit, and now lives as an immortal bunny. Now it's modern times and he's been rescued by a reincarnated LWJ, who is about to leave for college (veterinary) and doesn't remember anything about his past life. WWX is wary of him at first (he thinks that LWJ was amongst those who led the siege), but he eventually warms up to him and manages to tell him the truth using a computer.

Its world building at its finest, you are not folks directly what's happened or happening. WWX is the proprietor of Yiling Garden, a cafe that offers sanctuary. Mo Xuanyu arrives in the first chapter seeking sanctuary from the Inquisition. Lan Wangji arrives, saying he's sanctuary and there for Mo Xuanyu, but WWX assumed he was inquisition at first. They have not seen each other for years. Clearly something happened to separate WWX from everyone he loves except Wen Ning, who works for the shop too, and had been raised from the dead. For unknown reasons, Wen Qing is elsewhere and happy. Wen Yuan is mentioned, but WWX doesn't know what happened to him. There are phones so it's a modern au. And... That's it. Can somebody explain to me why this "undos" Eddie's ptsd arc in s5?? I've seen people upset about this and I'm confused

...please say sike, I'm so serious, that cannot be a real thing people are saying...(jk I can believe it because this fandom's media literacy is uhhhhhhh Not Great, Bob).

Anyway, it's an extremely bad take. Eddie has consistently been shown to go through cycles where he will work on one specific thing (or very specific set of things), and then when he feels like he has sufficiently addressed that one specific thing/set of things, he will pat himself on the back for the great work like all is well/he's all good/healed/fixed while ignoring the pile of twelve million other issues in the corner that he's thrown a sheet over to avoid dealing with. Eddie's PTSD is very different from his Shannon issues, and notably, he has never actually dealt with Shannon issues!

She died in S2 and he cried on the beach over her letter and then pulled himself together so he could be a rock for Christopher and put on a strong front for his family and then he went right back to work. He nearly killed a guy in an illegal fight club and when talking to Bobby about it confessed to Shannon asking for the divorce and "I forgave her for everything, but it wasn't enough - I wasn't enough," but when he went to therapy at that point, did he engage with that or anything about Shannon at all? No he did not!

In S4/Jinx, he confesses to Bobby again that he's "still not over it, not over her" but again, does he actually grapple meaningfully with his grief at that point? No! He decides instead to jump into something with Ana and move way too fast to provide Christopher a replacement mommy. In S5, he blames his panic attacks on his relationship (which...the unreliable narrator is narrating) and after breaking up with Ana once again shoves anything relationship or Shannon-related into a dark corner and avoids it. In therapy that time around, he exclusively focuses on his physical traumas and PTSD/survivor's guilt, primarily from his time in the army. There are a million things layered into "What are you afraid of?"/"That I'll never feel normal again," but Eddie only actually grapples with like...three of them. In S6, Shannon started coming up again more explicitly, but mostly in 6B, and he still wasn't actually dealing with his grief/allowing himself to feel/engage with it or anything to do with her and their relationship. He once again started trying to find someone to date, but actively framed it as searching for the feeling he had when he first started dating Shannon. It was just a reframing of looking for her replacement.

Anyway, this season is different, and he's finally being put in a position where he's not going to be able to keep avoiding it or putting it off - he's on a collision course with all of the messy feelings he's been trying not to feel for years and has no way to pretend that it's about anything but Shannon. S7 and S5 - not the same thing at all.
