Do you guys ever think about Buck and Eddie and when they were each separately being crushed beneath the weight of somehow being able to live without the other?

Personally I'm never getting over this (I don't expect they will either)

it is so clear that they were moving towards buddie canon at the end of s4 bc throughout the entire shooting scene there are moments that would be romantic in literally any other context like we have buck reaching out for eddie's hand (to pull him under the truck), buck fully picking him up (to get him in the ambulance), buck ripping eddie's shirt open (to stop the bleeding), and buck almost cradling his face (while trying not to lose it)

I'm actually never gonna shut up about 4x14 because it was such a good episode and the Buddie content? sublime

but the fuckin parallels of Buck risking everything to save Eddie right after getting shot and Athena risking everything to save Bobby right after getting shot.... compliments to the fucking CHEF.

Athena to Bobby: "I'm here. I got you."

Buck to Eddie: "Come on, Eddie! Stay down, I'm gonna come! I got you!"

Not to even mention Bobby's disbelief that Athena did what she did for him and the Eddie's disbelief that Buck did what he did for him/Christopher.

Or Buck defying protocols to do something dangerous and Athena defying protocols to do something dangerous.

Athena pleading with Buck to help her save Bobby, because if anyone at the scene was going to understand the unbridled need to do what she had to do, it was going to be Buck.

Athena and Buck were both ready and willing to sacrifice themselves for the men they love and that's true poetic cinema.

i've actually been losing my mind for freaking ✨months✨ thinking about Buck going to Eddie's house after he got shot and the way his hair is wet when he talks to christopher and he has different clothes on

which means

Buck used Eddie's shower

like i'm just picturing him freaking tf out and he goes to Eddie's house and he's still got Eddie's blood on him and he can't talk to Chris like that so he's gotta wash it off so he gets in Eddie's shower, but then he freaks out because Eddie's blood might be the last piece of him he'll ever have, Eddie could be dead right then and there and Buck would have nothing left of him, but here he is in Eddie's shower with Eddie's shampoo and body wash, so he uses them, just for the familiar scent of Eddie Diaz, to feel close to him.

and he probably just sits there in the shower floor and cries into Eddie's shampoo suds, and then he gets out and all he has is the bloody clothes he came in, so naturally he just grabs some of Eddie's and puts them on and it makes him feel just the tiniest bit better because at least he's in the comforting familiarity of Eddie's house with the comforting familiarity of Eddie's clothes

I love looking back through my liveblogs of the different 9-1-1 eps & re-reading my reactions to different bits 😅 I didn't tag all the episodes but i can tell which bits i reacted to. It's a fun lil time capsule!

I just want everyone to know that my friend who has never in his life seen 9-1-1, nor have I really talked about it with him, came to my house this afternoon while I was watching 4x14: Survivors and I’m spiralling right so I’m just picking and choosing scenes to watch throughout the show so I was basically just watching the Buddie scenes and so I watched the aftermath of the shooting and the ambulance scene, and then the scene where Buck tells Chris and breaks down. Then the moment when Buck runs into the hospital, “hi, Buck,” and “better than me. I kinda lost it when I told him.”

That’s ALL I watched while he was around.

Then as I was pausing to turn the show off (because he was here and he doesn’t watch the show yk) I angrily was like “YOU CANT TELL ME THEYRE NOT IN LOVE” and HE GOES

“Yeah without context I just assumed they were married” EXACTLY!! YOU ARE CORRECT!! I’m losing my mind
