This was supposed to just be a rough sketch, but then I started getting really invested in it.
I hadn't initially intended to include so many picture book characters, but the nostalgia was overwhelming. Does anyone remember the animated short films produced by Weston Woods? My local library used to have a bunch of them on the Scholastic VHS tapes from the late 90s. (I know some shorts were released on the Children's Circle VHS tapes back in the 80s (🎶 Come on along! Come on along! Join the caravan!), and some were packaged in Sammy's Story Shop in 2008.)

What are you doing here? — I was hiding in the wardrobe in the spare room.... — Spare Oom, is that in Narnia? — Narnia? What's that?

I keep thinking about Lewis' review of The Hobbit, because he claimed that the main thing contemporary reviewers compared it to was Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Was fantasy in that poor of a state that Alice was the closest thing they could think of? Comparing that chaotic fever dream to Tolkien's intricately crafted world? Lewis does specify that the comparison is that both books are by an "Oxford professor at play", but they're otherwise so different that putting the two in the same category baffles me.

“Then in the name of Aslan,” said Queen Susan, “if ye will all have it so, let us go on and take the adventure that shall fall to us.” -The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, chapter 17
“And then, let us descend into the city and take the adventure that is sent us.” -The Silver Chair, chapter 13
“Well,” said the King at last, “we must go on and take the adventure that comes to us.” -The Last Battle, chapter 2
The Narnia series is a childhood favourite that's still special to me. This is one of my older designs, using a combination of cross stitch and a doodling style of blackwork. Pattern here.

THE HOT MEDIEVAL & FANTASY MEN MELEE
QUALIFYING ROUND: 134th Tilt
High King Peter the Magnificent, The Chronicles of Narnia (2005-2008) VS. Robin Hood, The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda
High King Peter the Magnificent, The Chronicles of Narnia (2005-2008) Portrayed by: Noah Huntley*
“I mean. He's called the Magnificent for a reason. He defeats the Giants of the North, he duels King Miraz and wins, and he has a sword named Rhindon”
Robin Hood, The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) Portrayed by: Errol Flynn
“In so many ways Errol Flynn is the blueprint for every Robin Hood that came after him—nobody should be able to make a cocky guy who laughs all the time likeable, yet Flynn brings so much charm you can't help but fall in love with him. He is truly a merry man, yet somehow not annoying, and his balance between caring deeply about the people affected by the taxes and his own lighthearted approach to life is just.... can anybody Robin Hood more than this Robin Hood? I don't think so.”
Additional Propaganda Under the Cut
*Master of Revels' Note: As with Skandar Keynes' Edmund, Peter as portrayed by William Mosely could not be admitted for obvious reasons, but this is a character-based tournament, so his hot qualities that you know and love should still be considered when voting.
Additional Propaganda
For High King Peter:
No Additional Propaganda Submitted
For Robin Hood:
-“Look, I'm going to say it: we wouldn't have most of the men and media properties in this tournament if it weren't for Errol Flynn, his weaponizable charm, and the way his thighs look in tights.”

Hi all! I am a fellow 18+ Novella writer, mainly operating on discord. Lately I have been short of threads, so I'm seeking out some new partners! I mainly do double roleplays, but single threads are fine if I find the right partner! Below are a list of topics I am interested in writing.
Alice In Wonderland
Interview With A Vampire (1994 film)
Napoleon (2023 film)
Seven Deadly Sins
God of War
2003 Teen Titans
Stranger Things
Adventure Time
Marvel/ The Eternals
Shadowhunters
Criminal Minds
Harry Potter
Percy Jackson
Twilight
Sherlock
The chronicles of Narnia
The lord of the rings
The hobbit
Once upon a time
Bridgerton
The Labyrinth
Night in The Woods
Norse Mythology
Fandomless ideas:
- A forbidden relationship based on the moon and sun pairing. Characters would be based on these or maybe we could even explore the personification of these mystical beings! A fae and a human would be cool!
- A fantasy based pairing, could be witches, fae creatures, anything of the sort!
- Anything set in the 40's, 50's, or 60's!
- A musician couple that tours together
Sorry for the long wind, I wanted to make sure I got everything out there! If you'd be interested in chatting, feel free to like or reblog and I'll reach out to you!
Like if interested!

Hello! I am back, I’m sorry I’ve been MIA, I’ve been trying to fix myself mentally, and have been focusing on surviving life and just strive away from what I enjoy the most. I love writing and I can’t wait to get back into it. A new book will be published by this weekend, as I think I’ll are going to love this.
DC legends of tomorrow is a TV show I most enjoy , as the plot is that a man named rip hunter gathers a team of misfits, heroes, and villians, all working together to defeat the greater enemy which is savage. It gave me the idea to write a similar plot, but with Game/cartoon/anime characters, as well as have the idea that, the world is filled with misfits/heroes, and some people as villains, as truth be told, all of us are broken in our own way, and that’s why forgiveness is important, as well as Jesus who died in the cross, so our sins are forgiven and we can take our burdens and pain to him on the cross. So, here’s a sneak peak at what I’m going to write, and I hope you enjoy. :)
???: “Nine….a monster that was blessed with immortality, who will soon conquer the world and murder but also enslave trillions along with my wife and child. I am assembling an elite team to track down Nine throughout time, and bring him to justice. If me and my friends succeed, Al of us won’t be known as burdens or mistakes, we will be known…as legends.”

My thoughts on the general idea that isekai anime started to go downhill when they started to be written by men featuring male protagonists in wish-fulfillment adventures is that if you look beyond the current trends of isekai--beyond anime, even--you'll find that there are a lot of works of isekai (or, as they're called in English, "portal fantasy") written by men that featured girl protagonists that didn't have the same issues people find in current isekai when discussing the genre's flaws. (Some of these works are a lot older, and have other issues relevant to the time, but that's another topic.)
Off the top of my head, you have L. Frank Baum, Lewis Carroll, and C.S. Lewis as examples of men who wrote portal fantasies with girls as protagonists that didn't have the same issues that you see people criticize in isekai anime. The main difference I could see between their works and isekai anime that people dislike is that they were writing for a more general audience of children. More often than not, they also had younger girls who were either related to them or the children of friends of theirs that inspired them to write those stories. Lewis dedicated The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe to his goddaughter Lucy, Lewis Carroll wrote for Alice Liddell and her family, etc.
Even looking at more recent examples of isekai/isekai-adjacent works that feature girls and are written by men--Coraline by Neil Gaiman, Labyrinth by Jim Henson, Pan's Labyrinth by Guillermo del Toro--if you look up interviews by those people, they often cite their daughters as inspiration for the stories and protagonists they wrote.
The underlying theme I see here, is that none of them were horny while writing their works. (There's debate about Carroll, but I'm not going to go into that for now.)
I'm not saying that you have to be a dad if you're a man writing these kinds of works, but there is a general sense of empathy for the younger protagonists that doesn't involve sexualizing underage characters. I think that's one of the main reasons why these stories are different from current isekai that people often criticize. Just my two cents.
(There is one European isekai that is written by a man and features an overpowered male protagonist--that would be Michael Ende's The Neverending Story. But that story makes it a plot point about what happens when the isekai protagonist becomes too powerful for his own good.)

So I have this idea for a unauthorized nonprofit web novel series that I want to write called “The Lost Continent”. It serves as both a fan-made adaptation of the theme park land of the same name at Universal’s Islands of Adventure Park in Florida, as well as a fanfic crossover between different media franchises, pieces of literature, and mythologies/religions. The series follows six children who discover that they are the saviors of a pocket dimension that features a parallel version of Earth with a mystical continent called “Antilia”, a which is home to various different lands and subcontinents such as Oz, Wonderland, Neverland, Middle Earth, Camelot, Narnia, Westeros, the Mushroom Kingdom, Hyrule, the Hundred Acre Woods, Far Far Away (Shrek), Andalasia (Enchanted), etc. There they are trained by teenaged versions Alice Liddell, Dorothy Gale, and Peter Pan to become heroes and fight off evil. The only problem is that I don’t know what website I should write upload it on, I could upload it here, but I feel like sites like AO3, Deviantart, and Wattpad are more popular for stuff like this, if you guys want me to see more of this concept and/or have any suggestions on what websites I can use, then please let me know.

This is the story of an adventure that happened in Narnia and Calormen and the lands between, in the Golden Age when Peter was High King in Narnia and his brother and his two sisters were King and Queens under him.
