This is the Buddy for April 11th. Basically what I did was, I superimposed a drawing of Buddy over the poster of Dolores del Rio.
For a while there I wanted to make each day's Buddy reference something that happened that day. April 11th was the day she died, in 1983, so I figured I could use the drawing then. Her actual birthday, August 3rd, was taken.
But, enough about that. Dolores del Rio, eh? Va-va-voom! Hot! Boioioioing! *Wolf Whistles*! *Eyes Jump Out of My Skull and Turn Into Hearts While I Hit Myself With a Giant Mallet!*
Although the drawing doesn't show it too well, she's in a bikini. It's an early bikini, back when it was still a controversial article of clothing. Thankfully, nowadays people can wear whatever they want without being judged, right?
As or the poster - I had the black and white picture, which I converted into vectors in Inkscape. I think I used 20 layers but I don't remember it that well. I then copied each layer into FireAlpaca and converted the solid color into a Ben-Day hatch, the darker grays being more highly dense, and the black and white being the same.
It's not exactly what I wanted (the colors still look a bit wrong, because it was pretty confusing figuring out which color was associated with which density), but it was a fun experiment. I might try it again with a simpler picture.

Happy January 3rd! This is the Buddy for the day. You might be thinking, 'wait a minute... this Buddy's sweatshirt is pink! And here I thought the only colors you were allowed to use were black, white and red. You cheat!'
Well, I'll say, put down your torches and pitchforks, cause the pink in his shirt is just composed of very small Ben-Day dots. Very small. And the image's bigger than my other drawings. So, if you save the file and zoom in a lot, you'll see the dots. I swear.
And the same applies to the gray in the background, the brown of his cigarette filter, et cetera.
