Yet again, typical actions committed on a regular basis by people with privilege are blamed on mental illness.

Employers regularly use employees for profit then discard them like garbage when they can't work anymore.

Landlords regularly use tenants to pay for their multiple homes then discard them like garbage when they can't pay anymore.

The military regularly use teenagers desperate for a future as a source of expendable bodies then discard them like garbage when their service is done.

This is a feature of a capitalist society. Those who own everything use you for profit then discard you like garbage when you're no longer useful to them. And many people consider capitalism to be the best system. Many people consider wealthy people who exploit others for profit to be success stories.

What's more likely? That every single person who supports capitalism is a narcissist, or that the pattern of seeing interactions as transactional and discarding people like garbage when they're no longer useful has nothing to do with narcissism?

I have so many headcanons on their designs and such so just bear with me

- I honestly see Astro as a sort of centipede, a nocturnal arthropod that is actually pretty chill if you don't antagonize them. I also see him as having ADHD combined with narcolepsy, he's always moving his hands underneath his blanket and his mind is always racing despite constantly being fatigued.

- Razzle and Dazzle are rats, why? The rat king phenomenon! This is one of my only voice headcanons but they sound like ENA, specifically the newer one

- Dandy is a False Dandelion. I also base my design of him on a Ammit, which has the head of a crocodile, the upper body of a lion, and the lower body of a hippo, his Twisted form reflects this the most. I also see Dandy as bigender. Him and Sprout are also brothers with Sprout being the older one.

- Speaking of Sprout, I honestly see him acting like a MMO healer while on runs (Examples; “No, I'm not out of tapes, I just don't like you”, “If you get in the way you deserve to get hit”, “You got one shot, I can't out-heal stupidity”.)

- Shelly has other dino features, although it's actually based on cephalopod’s using tools, her tentacles hold onto replicas of fossils that give her the illusion of having a tail, horns, etc, and she can change them out. Also she has ADHD, she just matches the symptoms more instead of autism (Autistic and even AuDHD Shelly's are valid tho).

- Vee has high functioning ASPD that's comorbid with Autism, yes I did as much research as possible as to not demonize either, but I personally see her with these two disorders, as due to being a robot she doesn't feel complex emotions and has a weak sense of right and wrong (outside of her programming, that is), she doesn't feel guilty for being blunt, rude, or for not noticing others feelings, but she does try to make up for it if someone points it out, even if she doesn't feel bad about it.

- Pebble is a Toy Poodle, and Coal is a Saint Bernard, with Pebble being a service animal and Coal being a search and rescue mountain dog, in the cartoon they were both used to show kids how dogs can help people outside of being companions, that service dogs shouldn't be distracted or pet without permission, and that they shouldn't be scared of working dogs in certain situations no matter how big or intimidating they seem. Also they're very much ‘Old dog, young dog' dynamic.

- Shrimpo has low functioning ASPD and struggles to hide his symptoms. No pronouns and AroAce.

- Gigi is a chameleon, simply because chameleons will grab onto whatever you hand them, self explanatory.

- Goob and Scraps are chimeras instead of being a dog and a cat, Looey is their oldest sibling, no reason for this, it just showed up in my mind and I can't get rid of it, Goob and Scraps honorary circus members as a result. Goob also has Ataxia (Impaired balance and coordination, specifically in his arms, which causes clumsy movements) and Hypotropia (downward facing misaligned eye) which causes weaker vision in his ‘lazy’ eye.

Chapter 2: Part 2: Fending Off Fakers

As you start to enter the Hunting Grounds and make yourself visible to the right Yandere, it’s crucial to ensure that you don’t fall into the trap of attracting Chasers or Fakers. These are people who are not interested in genuinely understanding the Darling dynamic, but rather in gaining attention, fulfilling lustful desires, or exploiting your vulnerability for their own gain.

Fakers are especially dangerous because they will act like they care, but their primary focus is often self-serving—whether it's seeking validation, attention, or simply experiencing the thrill of controlling someone without the emotional depth or commitment that a true Yandere would offer.

So, how do you keep yourself protected while still making your presence known to the right people? The key lies in the art of subtlety, mystery, and deliberate ambiguity. Here’s how you can effectively fend off Fakers and keep your Darling identity safe:

1. Vague Photos & Mysterious Presence

When it comes to photos or personal content shared online, it’s important to stay vague and mysterious. This doesn’t mean you should hide yourself entirely, but rather ensure that what you do share does not make it too easy for anyone to immediately pinpoint who you are or what you're about. You don’t want to give away too much to someone who might simply be chasing a fantasy or looking to manipulate you for their own gain.

Blurred or Partially Covered Photos: Post photos that hint at your aesthetic or vibe without revealing too much about your face or identifying features. This could mean capturing your silhouette, your hands, your back, or even just your clothes or accessories. You want to show your Darling energy, but not in a way that makes it easy for someone to figure out your personal life or location.

Artistic Filters and Angles: Use filters that obscure details of your face or body, and take photos at unique angles to create a sense of mystery. This can be as simple as framing a shot where your face is turned away or focusing on something symbolic of your Darling persona—like a flower or a meaningful object—rather than an obvious self-portrait.

sohee has always been a pretty baby. everyone always told her parents so. no one had ever seen a baby more beautiful and sweet-natured, they said. she was perfect. on a whim when she was just about to turn 2, her mother entered her in a beautiful baby contest run by a famous childcare brand looking to find their next baby models. her win set her on an unexpected path of billboards and fame, the citizens of korea all knowing her name and cooing over her image before she could even form full sentences. she kept modeling and appearing in commercials throughout her childhood. she was a darling sensation in the late 90s and early 2000s, even brands like samsung sought her out for advertisements. she first realized her dream of becoming an idol when was around 5 and she had to perform a rendition of a children’s song for one of her commercials. it was her biggest hit, the catchy jingle and her cute little face boosting the company’s sales ten-fold. 

she kept modeling and acting in commercials for years, but as she got older, she began to book less and less. she was still pretty, they said, but she was losing that same toddler charm she once had. when she was 9 years old, she and her parents were approached by a scout from mgc entertainment, the company of one of the highest-selling girl groups of the time. her parents were a little hesitant, not only ready to be done with the industry they had been sucked into so suddenly, but believing sohee was too young to be a trainee. the scout was convincing enough though, telling her parents that they wanted to make her the next boa. sohee begged and begged for them to let her join, and after a week or so of consideration, finally agreed. she did an obligatory audition but was immediately accepted, the company seeking her out for her visuals and her already hefty resume as a child model. 

she enjoyed her training at first, happy that she spent her days learning to sing and dance with other kids her age. that was until one of the dance instructors began giving her special treatment. he always gave her praise in front of the class despite berating other kids, he would give her special lessons in his own studio, and eventually he began making advances on her. she didn’t understand it at first. she liked being his favorite, even though some of her friends began to turn on her because of it. she liked being praised and encouraged. but often times she was self-conscious of the way he would put his hands on her while guiding her movements, or his tone of voice when he would speak to her when they were alone. 

it got to the point where one day, she begged and begged her mom to let her stay home from practice and quit being a trainee. concerned for her daughter after her initial excitement, she eventually got the truth out of sohee and was enraged. her parents immediately took the issue to the company, but they informed them that they had signed exclusive 5-year contracts with them, including nda clauses. the company threatened the family with legal action if they continued to speak on the issue or if they pulled sohee out of the training program. unable to risk the costs, they reluctantly sent sohee back to the program. they warned her to stay away from the teacher as much as she could, but to tell no one else about the issue.

the next day after class, the teacher pulled her aside and told her that she would never make it in the industry if she couldn’t handle special treatment. that he was only helping her to reach her dreams and that every girl who had ever made it as a star had been in her position. she kept attending his lessons after that.

she was always torn. she still had a deep love for performing. she got lost in a dance or a song, relishing in the way she felt strong and impenetrable when she was on the stage. but she was slowly becoming more isolated, and the instructor made her feel wrong for wanting to chase this dream. in the 5th year of her training, the final year of her dreaded contract, one day she arrived to the studios where she had spent years practicing and found them entirely abandoned. it turns out that the company had been under investigation for fraud, money laundering, and csam related crimes for the past few months. suddenly everything that she had been working for, that she had been suffering for, disappeared before her very eyes.

it took years for her to get over the crushing loss of her dream and even begin to heal from the trauma she had experienced. 3 years after the disappearance of mgc entertainment, just after her 16th birthday, another scout approached her on the street on behalf of rainbow entertainment. she denied her at first, struggling to even hold a conversation as anxiety rubbed raw at her throat, but she took her card, if only to get away quicker. but the longer she considered it, the more she was reminded of what her dream had meant to her. her parents were hesitant at first, not quick to forget the way she was torn apart when this dream did not work out before, bit after seeing her renewed determination, they agreed. but not before hiring a lawyer to sit in on any contract signing.

she found a new life while training at rbe, a renewed passion for what she had longed for before. she still struggled with symptoms of ptsd at times, but she had found a strong support system in her friends, especially seolah who she had quickly found solace in. she was overcome with joy on their debut day, hardly unable to stop crying as her dream finally came to reality after everything she had gone through to get there.

On August 25, Texas judge Maria Cantú Hexsel temporarily blocked Senate Bill 14, which limits sex-trait modification procedures—euphemistically called “gender-affirming care”—to adults only. In her decision, Hexsel stated that the law “interferes with Texas families’ private decisions and strips Texas parents . . . of the right to seek, direct, and provide medical care for their children.” In response, the Texas attorney general’s office swiftly filed an appeal with the state’s Supreme Court to halt Hexsel’s injunction, highlighting the “unproven” nature of pediatric sex-trait modification procedures being “pushed by some activists in the medical and psychiatric professions.”

Weeks before the hearing, the Texas attorney general’s office had asked me to serve as an expert witness on the biology of sex. It invited me to respond to a series of false and perplexing assertions made by the plaintiff’s three expert witnesses—including the premise that a person’s sex is comprised of many traits, among them chromosomes, hormones, internal reproductive organs, genitalia, and secondary sexual characteristics, as well as one’s “gender identity.”

In the scientific understanding of sex, only one trait—the type of gamete (i.e., sperm or ova) that someone can, will, or would produce—defines male or female. This is true not only for humans but also for all plants and animals. The other traits mentioned by the plaintiffs’ experts, while related to one’s sex, do not define it. Moreover, the push to include “gender identity” as a defining aspect of being male or female represents an extreme departure from empirical reality in service of a pseudoscientific outlook designed to validate the feelings of people who experience discomfort with their bodies.

Traveling to Austin and appearing before a judge to explain these basic facts was a surreal experience. To my knowledge, this was the first time a biologist has been called to testify in court to defend the material existence of males and females as natural and distinct biological categories. Yet, this isn’t the first time that core principles of biology have been put on trial.

In the 2005 case Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District, plaintiffs contested a Pennsylvania school district’s policy that mandated teaching the religious concept of Intelligent Design (ID) alongside evolution in biology class. Biologists were summoned to defend the extensive evidence supporting evolution and explain how ID does not meet the fundamental standards of the scientific method: ID is unfalsifiable and relies on supernatural explanations that fall outside the purview of science.

The Kitzmiller case fascinated me, and I followed it closely. In fact, it inspired me to pursue a career as an evolutionary biologist. Over the years, I’ve engaged in debates with numerous creationists and ID supporters. While I didn’t realize it then, confronting these faith-based arguments against the reality of evolution equipped me to handle the current wave of popular anti-science sentiment around the denial of biological sex. Strikingly, the arguments made by sex denialists often mirror those presented by creationists and ID proponents.

In addition to being glaring instances of metaphysics parading as science, both ID and sex denialism rely on a similar “argument from complexity” designed to stun audiences into adopting their perspectives. ID advocates, for instance, contend that biological systems and features are “irreducibly complex,” meaning that they couldn’t have emerged from gradual, unguided processes like natural selection and random mutation and must therefore have been directed by a supernatural “designer” (i.e., God). In a similar vein, gender activists argue that biological sex is so complex and irreducible to any single trait that all efforts to classify individuals as male or female are futile, and people should therefore be allowed to identify as any sex they like.

While both arguments highlight genuine complexities within biology, they misconstrue the actual scientific understanding. In the Kitzmiller case, the presiding judge, a Christian appointed in 2002 by President George W. Bush, saw through the ruse and ruled against teaching ID as science, stating that “ID is a religious view . . . and not a scientific theory.” The denial of biological sex is no different, and its societal impacts are more pervasive and harmful than the denial of evolution.

However, in a twist I could not have anticipated, the same colleagues who once applauded my efforts to defend evolution against creationism and ID now condemn me for challenging the new sex pseudoscience. Evidently, scientists are not the impassive, Spock-like figures that both society and many scientists themselves perceive them to be. They, too, can get wrapped up in ideological and political trends.

Defending the binary nature of sex in court will become increasingly important as more states consider implementing age restrictions on hormonal and surgical sex-trait modification. This is because the depiction of sex as a haphazard collection of sex-related traits—instead of being tied to reproductive function—forms a central tenet of gender ideology. If one determines a person’s sex by tallying various traits, which can range from male-typical to female-typical, it follows that hormonal or surgical modifications can literally shift one’s physical sex along this perceived spectrum to align with that person’s internal “gender identity.” If, however, a person’s sex is immutable, then such interventions lack empirical justification

After I was sworn in and presented my credentials as an expert on the biology of sex, the plaintiff’s lawyers objected that they didn’t understand “the relevance of this witness.” I don’t think they were being insincere: I believe they really did not understand the relevance of natural science to the debate over how to help kids who feel alienated from their bodies. And that, of course, is exactly the problem.

Our Constitution guarantees all Americans the right to direct their lives according to their faith—whether that faith is about a revelation on Mt. Sinai or about sex as a spectrum or about the existence of gendered souls. The Constitution does not, however, immunize doctors from scientific criticism when their own beliefs clash with empirical fact and lead to medical harm. It is essential that scientists find the courage to defend the principles of rationalism and empiricism in the court of law as well as in the court of public opinion to help guide medicine, and our society, back to reality.

I'm watching autism documentary #3. In a different key - it's interesting. Listened to five or six embracing autism podcast today. Talked to the special ed consultant. She was helpful.

She said they will recommend:

1. A SEIT (Masters degree special ed teacher) to do individual time with him for up to ten hours a week in his current class. She said all public schools should also have an OT, PT and a speech pathologist that he could see.

2. A 8:2, 10:2, or a 12:2 special ed class. They will provide all services including ABA therapy. The evaluator mentioned this on Friday so its mostly what I'm expecting they recommend.

Special ed consultant recommended if they give us the special ed school we should take it. They would bus him there. We will try to do a tour before our IEP meeting.

Unless the tour is super impressive at this point I would prefer to keep him in his current setting with the SEIT support. Our family prioritizes community/family highly. Both things would be given up/down played if we send him out of our community and without his sisters. Of course, we will do that if he really needs it but I don't see why we wouldn't at least try keeping him here. Everything says the least restrictive placement is best.

It helps that when I asked the assistant teacher how he is doing today she got a big smile on her face and said "He is doing great. He's playing, eating and sleeping. He's so funny." It made my heart so happy. Of course, he would still be great even if his teacher didn't see it. It's just really nice to know he's showing off his amazing self to others. He's high maintenance but he's so, so, so great.

It feels like whiplash going from fighting for two forty five minutes of OT per month for over a year to discussions of 10-30 hours of individual therapy at a special ed school to his gen ed teacher saying he's doing great.

Even if we don't follow her advice I appreciate the special ed consultants information. The only thing I didn't like was when she brushed off my questions about diversity of the student body in school options. She said it didn't matter. She did go on to say the priority at age three needs to be getting him the services he needs. Which makes sense. I would have appreciate that explanation with a "I know it really sucks but right now you can't prioritize that need because the special ed services are currently more important." Instead of claiming it doesn't matter. At some point we may not be able to prioritize finding a place with kids/teachers that look him, or a place in our lovely community or a place with his sisters. That doesn't mean those things aren't important. Those needs don't go away because he has special needs. The documentary is now featuring African American families of kids with autism. It's validating my concerns.

Researching ABA therapy. I don't even know what they would try to get him to do. He's not safe when he runs full speed without looking forward. When he's in a big crowd he gets all amped up and his body gets out of control in unsafe ways. I'm attaching a picture of the first day of school as an example. He was super excited to see everyone so he's movements increased tenfold. I would love to get him help with those things. I watched videos of ABA and don't know what they would do to help him through either of those issues? I'm reading the criticism's. I would like to see how its implemented in schools. I want to better understand what they are offering.

At worst, a sweep might expect their disgust to be in vain, delving in the offal for nought but blood under their fingernails.

Rumours of what happened when a Sweep found not a boon, but a liability; uncovering something that they weren't meant to find. They were mostly jumpers, the bodies - and in this case, mostly leather jacket - but some were pushed. Because of anger. Hatred. Jealousy. Or because of secrets that the killer hoped to bury with their bones.

"Have you found anything?" Navdeep called down from the platform, impatient as ever.
