Yeah my conclusion of the day about ruikasa is that Rui is aware of his own feelings, but doesn't want to ruin their friendship (especially since wxs is already on a timer, he doesn't want to cut it even shorter), and think he's selfish for enjoying moments with Tsukasa (like inviting him to that fuck ass lake that is a popular couple spot)

look guys i very strongly disagree with the "trans men hold privilege over trans women" point of view and i'm finally able to articulate why:

I think trans men don't hold privilege over trans women, because privilege is kind of a consistent thing.

Like, bear with me: I'm an abled person. I have privilege in relation to disabled people. Because, if me and a disabled person are in a Situation where this distinction is relevant in some way...I'm literally never gonna come out with the worst hand. Never. No matter what the situation is. This is a consistent fact.

Now, when we talk about different transgender identities, I think this gets more shady, because the "who has privilege in relation to who" is a relative statement. One example I saw of people explaining why in their view trans man have privilege over trans women is kind of like this: Imagine there are two passing and stealth trans people, a trans man and a trans woman, in a workplace. Then, it comes a coworker, being blatanly misogynist. Regardless of their views on trans people, in this situation, the trans woman is gonna get the worst of it, in relation to the trans man, because he will be viewed as a man.

It makes sense, and I don't think this hypothetical situation is inaccurate or anything, but I'd also like to point out why it doesn't work as a good point to why transmascs have privilege over transfems. Imagine we change about any variable in this situation. Let's say the trans woman is closeted as a guy, and the trans man is openly transgender. The misogynist coworker then would very much target the trans man in their points, especially if they are particularly transphobic. Now imagine both of them are out and openly trans, with the bonus that now both the man and the woman are gnc. Depending on other specifics, the misoginyst coworker might be bigoted to just one or both of them.

Like, do you see? In different situations, the different trans people have the worst hand. So that doesn't mean that because of the first case, trans men have it generally better. Because there are many kinds of trans men, and simply not all of them have privilege over trans women. In some cases, they might even have it worse precisely because they are trans man. So the privilege the trans man in the first example has is not a consistent thing over trans man! Maybe it's common, I don't know, but when we compare it with someone who has real privilege, like me, an abled person, I ain't ever encounter myself in a situation where I'm having it worse because I am abled in comparison to someone who is disabled.

That's why I think trans woman and trans men simply don't hold privilege over one another, simply because it varies. It depends on who the trans men and women are, it depends in what situation they are in, it depends on the people around them, it depends of so much!!! So saying that trans men have privilege over trans women sounds simply surreal!

I think that, also, the different patterns of the situations in which trans woman have it worse are important to be discussed, and that's why we have the word Transmisoginy, to discuss these issues pertinent to the nuanced oppression trans woman face (and on a similar note, that's why it's also important to have fucking words like Transmisogynoir, because a black trans woman's Situations will be different from a white trans woman's Situations and it's important to to recognize that). THAT's why I also think that we need words like Exorsexism and Transandrophobia, to identify the patterns of situations where trans men have it bad precisely because they are trans men and not something else or because nonbinary people have it bad precisely because they are nonbinary.

SO, in short, my opinion on the "trans man have it generally better than trans woman and that's why they have privilege" debate is that trans man don't generally have it better than trans woman, but some trans man in specific situations have it significantly better than trans woman and that in other situations trans woman have it significantly better than trans man and that is basically a case-to-case scenario and that's also why we need the specific words for different shapes and faces of transphobia to better understand these cases and why x happens with y at z situation. Ways Hiro Could've Been Plot-Relevant

Expand on his business dealings. Hiro's supposed to be using his fortune-telling as a moneymaker, and by playing his ftes, you know he's wildly successful via exorbitant prices. So why not have him take advantage of everyone's panic in the killing game and start making sales? Sure, a good chunk of the cast will be able to see through it, but there are plenty of characters that could buy it (Makoto, Hina, Toko in the early-game, to name a few).

Have him and Makoto connect over both being framed. They literally set up the easiest way for the two of them to bond in chapter 3 and just. Didn't use it. I feel like this is the easiest way to make him feel more connected to the story (and player!) without having to alter the main plot all that much.

Investigate the supernatural! Hiro is pretty quickly established as having a ton of interest and belief in it, but believes it to be separate from his fortune-telling from a business perspective. If Sayaka and Kyoko both canonically have supernatural abilities, couldn't Hiro's own interest in the extraterrestrial play a role? After Kyoko reveals to the group her amnesia, Hiro could be the one to offer to help her figure it out, and potentially have the ability to pick up on her connection to the god of death (I could 100% see him referring to her as an 'angel of death' and misinterpreting his own reading as her being the cause, as more of a clue-in before she just drops that on us lol.) Also, having him know something's different/off about Kyoko would make him work as more of a role in the story and allow him to connect to Kyoko, trying to investigate in his own bumbling way but eventually sees her as a friend and wanting to trust her despite it. It'd double as a good reason for Kyoko to feel connected to the other survivors as well.

Accidental-older-brother-figure him. He's canonically several years older than the rest of the group; watch him accidentally start worrying over the rest of the survivors as the game goes on and give him a sibling-like relationship with them, particularly Hina and Toko. They all argue all the time anyway, so why not go that extra mile and sibling-code it? They squabble a ton, but when it comes down to an emergency, he should be the one putting himself between Monokuma and the survivors in the gym, defending Makoto and Kyoko in the ch 5 trial, checking on Jill after the bomb sends her flying. Let him worry about the others more!!!

This applies to everyone really, but you know how sdr2 and v3 have those unlockable scenes you can trigger by having the right items in your inventory? I really wish THH had those (besides the bathhouse one that doesn't count) so we could hang out with the other characters and let them develop more bonds with each other. I could see one with Hiro by getting him a new glass ball in chapter 2 and him giving out a free reading to 'test' the glass ball first, with Makoto, Chihiro, and Hina all getting readings. (Bonus points for Hiro supporting transfem Chihiro w/o expressly saying it. I'm imagining something like "I can see you're much stronger than you think you are, and self-doubt is your greatest enemy; keep being true to yourself" and her misinterpreting it as 'oh maybe I am cis and just haven't acknowledged it' and just. Tragic downfall)

If ford was transmasc, bill could do things like destroy his binders /packers or purposefully hurt his rib/chest area in a way that would never allow him to safely get top surgery. He get a could tattoo of something terrible (like a slur or something suggestive), as we've already seen he has no qualms with disrespecting his body like that.If ford were on T he could flush them or cancel any further orders of them. He could fill ford's things with 'girly' stuff or make him wake up with dysphoric outfits...just overall bad stuff.

If ford was transfem, bill could, again, destroy any breast padding/fake boobs, throw away tucking stuff, makeup, etc. He could make disparaging comments on ford's appearance via sticky note on the bathroom mirror, which he already does, but these target her voice, body hair, and clothing. again, real bad stuff. (I'm not transfem so this is my best guess sorry)

How do you feel about cracked and fractured pelvises?

Whether the babymama is Cisfem or Transfem, and Whether or not the birth canal is Vaginal, Anal, or Urethral; I like the idea of the baby being soo big that they can't pass through the pelvis, so they have to crack apart the pelvis into peices so that can pry open her birth canal so the baby(ies) can pass.

I definitely enjoy it. It’s just one more agonizing pain that can be added to birth. I’m not too into prying open the birth canal, but that’s not to say I don’t like it. I *usually* prefer birth be as natural as possible with the only thing stretching the birth canal being the baby, but what you described isn’t something I dislike at all. It’s an idea that I’m open to. And while unrealistic, I do really like when the pelvis breaks on its own from the force of the baby pressing against it. It’s kind of like how I almost always prefer tearing to episiotomy, except more unrealistic, but if trans girls can have babies and the babies can be several times bigger than normal, then I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to say their hips can snap naturally lol. I just absolutely love how much it would hurt and how that pain just wouldn’t go away, even after the baby is out. It can be very very hot. Thank you so much for the ask!

Band AU headcanon

So I saw The Last Dinner Party live a little while ago and I haven’t been able to get this idea out of my head. So, a Marauders Band AU except they’re The Last Dinner Party. (Bonus points if they’re all women, I love a good fem AU) 

So, obviously Sirius would be Abigail. Not only do the looks correlate, but just their energy is so similar. It’s so perfect and of course lead singer / front man Sirius is like the only band AU Sirius that works in my head. (And it would be amazing if she was transfem in this AU, I love transfem Sirius so much!!) 

Aurora would be Lily. It just fit so nicely in my head when I thought of this, I think it suits her. I think she probably grew up playing piano, and like Petunia would have played violin or something, and she always kind of despised it until she got her own creative freedom to play things that she wants to play, rather than what's expected of her, and then she took it to the band and now loves it. Also Albanian Lily just kinda works I think and imagine her singing Gjuha. 

Georgia would be Marlene 100% are you kidding me. Not just the looks again (but definitely the looks) but the bass as well as just their energy (omg save me bassist Marlene, save me). Also one of my favourite headcanons is Marlene being Aussie, like that just makes sense to me. And so when I was watching them on stage I thought she was giving Marls energy, and then she spoke and said she was Australian and I was like fuck yeah thats Marlene right there. I’m passionate about this. 

Emily is Peter. You can’t change my mind, I just think it works. I think she’s so sweet and Peters so sweet, and usually when I think up band AUs I usually place Peter on the guitar. So yes, Pete is Emily :) Also her style is literally how I would picture Petes style if he were like transfem or just in a fem AU. 

And Lizzy is Remus. They’re so fucking cool and I just thought their energy and appearance on stage would 100% be Remus, esp on the guitar. I think it fits so nicely (also they’re fucking gorgeous in the same way Remus is in my mind). And their haircut/colour!!!!!

Also, they don’t have a permanent drummer at this point, but Casper Miles is performing with them at the moment and literally I was just looking at this guy on stage and could only see James, and drummer James is a weakness of mine istg. But yes, their drummer is James 100%. 

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this idea, and if you feel inspired to write this, please go for it! All I ask is that you let me know so I can read this because I wanna read it so bad. Also like in a non magic AU I always picture the Marauders would be at a catholic/private school and they have a song about that (My Lady Of Mercy) which I know 100% Sirius would write a song about that.

how am I having more thoughts on the Cardcaptor!Katsuki thing?

Okay okay some plot notes:

I'm sticking this AU in a weird-ass place! During Katsuki and Izuku's last year of middle school!

So they're not in UA, but this is post-sludge villain so they're a bit weird, Kats is NOT dealing with the trauma well, and Izuku is still training with All Might.

This does mean they're not getting involved in the main plot of bnha yet, but they /can/ run into some characters on the adventures. (Maybe the Heroes are responding to the chaos the Cards make, maybe their future classmates are caught up in said chaos, hell you can toss a villain or two in because some of them might know things about the cards).

Also this is a CC-esque au so similar canon deviations exist. Like Katsuki being transfem but not actually out yet.

Card nonsense kicks off pretty early in.

So I'm imagining that Katsuki is having a Bad Time™ and just wants to be alone for a hot minute. Wanders off during the school day and ends up in some backrooms of the school library. Finds the book with the cards. All the cards except Firey excape(because this one vibes most with her). Kero appears and while Katsuki is like ?????? he gives the plot dump of 'hey! Magic is real! You're destined to deal with this shit!"

Izuku also gets involved because he noticed Katsuki sneaking off, followed like the little fuckin stalker he is, and saw the whole card scattering/Kero infodump thing.

Katsuki and Izuku are in a weird ass place right now because it's post-sludge but pre-ua. So Katsuki is trying to figure out what the fuck is up with Izuku and whether her life is a lie and all that but hasn't really had the push to confront all that. And at first she's pissed at Izuku but Kero is a decent mediator to this situation and it's. it's the first time any kind of adult(as much of an adult as a little cat bear thing is) has kinda. Taken control and firmly but kindly said 'hey knock that shit off' so it's easier for her to really just take a step back and take a breath and actually like. Properly be able to listen to Izuku because again: Kero is saying 'hey the guy was worried about you that's a good thing' instead of 'lmao he's worried about you he thinks you can't handle this show him you can through force!'.

bonus points for Katsuki getting dragged into Izuku's nonsense and finding out 'oh you met mcfucking ALL MIGHT and he's training you as a successor????'. Which. Yeah def spins everything because fuck it All Might is the ultimate authority on right and wrong so if All Might thinks Izuku is a good person worhty of respect Katsuki is switching it up right now. (and feeling guilty for everythig in the past so whoops more of Kero being like 'kid you're FINE!!)

Swinging over to Yue! I mentioned before but he was determined to handle the passing of the torch to a new holder better than the Clow-Sakura transfer he was going in optimistically but GOD he meets Katsuki and is like "THIS??? IS WHAT I HAVE TO DEAL WITH???"

So like. He still does something similar to last time in hiding in plain sight to keep an eye on the new holder. I don't think he'll go full dual personality again because while I love Yukito that's A Lot. But also there's like.... There's not really anyone in Katsuki's life where he could slide in as a 'haha you're not going to question me being here!'.

Which leads to the idea of Yue basically faking being a teacher and is now on the Aldera staff but he's the only sane person in this place and is constantly on the verge of killing his coworkers because holy FUCK how do y'all treat children like this????

All Might gets dragged into this because Izuku has Katsuki meet him and tbh with Izuku helping Katsuki figure out the Card stuff they get into nonsense that's /technically/ vigilantism according to the law but Katsuki is the only one who can deal with the situation.

The actual collecting of the cards happens over that school years so Katsuki has all of them by the time she and Izuku go to UA (and also they're all a bit healthier about things both each other and themselves).

At UA, Katsuki initially tries to keep to just using her Quirk for this shit instead of the cards(though she's become used to using both in tandem). This only works so well beause ofc when bigger threats come out, she's not going to hold back out of some weird 'oh it's not fair to-' no people are in danger she's gonna use everything she has to save them.

So while we don't get someone Eriol-esque crafting situations, the Plot forces her to transform the Cards into her own versions.

i normally write katsuki to be transmasc but there's just something so important to me about amab genderfluid katsuki that plagues my thoughts in the best possible way... i needddd to write more fics about them

obviously izuku is the first one to find out because he can read his kacchan so easily he'd notice the second katsuki stops walking at a group mall trip for .2 seconds to look at a cute skirt and while i don't think izu would outright ask kacchan about it, he would hint that he kinda knows and show that he'd support his friend no matter what (bonus points for transfem izuku here)

and mina finds out second because even though katsuki's really close to the entire friendgroup, they trusts her with it most, and even though she's a bit of a gossip she'd keep this to herself

Okay umm listen, I have a silly… a very silly question...

Lake crushing on transfem Jesse-

i do love a good opportunity to soapbox my jesslake analysis

i presume the underlying assumption here is that when i say i think jesslake sucks it's because of [points at my url] the lake sexuality take, and hence if you simply Trans Jesse's Gender the circumstances are suddenly amenable to me. they're not--i don't base my analysis of character dynamic on random sexuality headcanons, i base it on the reality of how that dynamic is portrayed in the source media. like, this is a train Analysis blog, if you want my opinion on a ship you're getting my opinion on how compelling that relationship would be within the source media, not on how compelling it would be in some five-layers-of-caricature-and-abstraction fanon version of the media. making jesse a girl--and it is, imo, weird to use the idea of a transfem character as a prop for mediocre shipping instead of as a genuine interpretation--would not change any of the reasons why jesslake is a profoundly uncompelling and backwards interpretation of the season. i don't give a shit what genders or sexualities you make jesse and lake, they're still a bad pairing.

as for the why, i'm gonna let one of the writers of the show summarize:

jesse is...lake's first friend. Ever. she's new to friendship. she's a traumatized 13yo with a subsequently deeply unhealthy and fumbling approach to social interaction. jesse is her first friend, her only friend, and furthermore the only support system she has. jesse has a house, a family, experience with social relationships, and a support system outside of lake. jesse has a social security number and a last name. lake is a homeless kid from another dimension with approximately three months of train-world life experience and, as of the end of canon, some three minutes of real-world life experience.

which is to say that if lake were to date jesse, she would be taking her first-ever friendship--something so emotionally overwhelming to her that she's flustered by even the most basic demonstrations of care from him--and turning it into a teenage romance. you know what teenage romances are famous for? being based on short-lived infatuation with inevitable and awkward break-ups. it's how teenagers Work, having those shitty-dinky teen relationships is an important part of growing up.

do you know how unbalanced and unhealthy it would be if lake, a homeless, traumatized child with no legal existence, started dating the one (1) member of her support system? how uncomfortable and horrible it would be for the continuation of her connection to the one (1) person who can offer her a place to stay be contingent on a romantic connection to him? imagine how ruinous the inevitable teen break-up would be for her. to quote owen:

the key word here is friend. a friendship with jesse is sustainable, low-pressure. they're the special kind of best friends who meet when they're young, share the experience of figuring out how to grow into themselves together, and stay friends for life. that's something so much more compelling and emotionally significant than the idea that their connection on the train was solely the result of short-lived superficial teenage infatuation.

season two is not about crushes. season two is about two lonely kids finding each other and realizing that they're lovable despite what they might think or what the world might be telling them. season two is about the best-friendships that save and change lives. in the season two DVD bonus commentary tape for the wasteland scene, show writer katai points out, and i quote exactly: "it's so cruel and dismissive that he keeps calling jesse just 'lake's boyfriend.'" (dennis and queripel chime in with "yeahs" after this comment is made.) and it's cruel and dismissive for a reason: because season two is about a platonic love far, far deeper and more significant than any romantic interpretation of the season could ever be.

making it some dumb teen romance isn't just implausible/unhealthy if you engage with it in the full context of the show's narrative, it cheapens The Absolute Shit out of the relationship dynamic they do actually have. and sure, you can say "but not everything has to be realistic/accurate to the show all the time!!!" but infinity train is a show about very realistically written people experiencing very realistic problems in their very realistic lives, where the one added element of absurdity is the train. i like to engage with the show on its own terms, i like to interpret character dynamics with the understanding that the world they inhabit is just ours but with the addition of the train. i don't want to make uninteresting, generified shipbait versions of jesse and lake kiss. i want to engage with the way they're actually written in the show.

and the way they're actually written in the show makes it exceptionally clear that jesslake is a boring-ass ship and Travel Besties is where the narratively meaningful shit is at.

if you want jesslake to be a thing, then you better start making alternate universes, because they're never gonna be dating in this one.
