your hc about the linkuei brothers watching movies are very funny. What would it be like watching horror movies? Or movies about martial arts? I feel that bi-han would criticize absolutely every detail of every blow or movement. You can choose only one type of movie if you want, I understand that sometimes it is difficult to have inspiration to write them. You can ignore this too! Thank you 🫡
I’ve never really been into martial arts movies so I went with horror since I had more experience with those. Hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
I kinda feel like Bi-Han is one of those people that can’t enjoy horror movies because he thinks logically too much
He can’t go dumb for the movie and that ruins it for him
Take Scream for example (fuck Scream 7. Don’t watch that shit when it comes out), he cannot understand how people are actually killed by Ghostface
The mask should mess up their vision, plus the robe, plus it’s a regular person. Typically a teenager or young adult. How are they killing that many people? Their victims are pathetic
He immediately knows who Ghostface is, or who any secret killer is. He sees the signs right away and is like “how isn’t it obvious?”
A bummer the whole time
You gotta shut off your brain and have a good time when watching a horror movie, Especially slashers.
Don’t get him started on the Evil Dead movies
He’s so mad they read from the book. If he saw Evil Dead Rise, he’d walk out the room
”The book opened when Danny bled on it-“
We know Bi-Han. We’re angry too
A horror movie can fr ruin this mans day
He’d probably like psychological movies or those A24 movies
“You don’t get it because you have to think”
Yes, he’s one of those
Shut the fuck up. You are not better than anyone
Tumblr media
Not as much of a bummer
Do I think he loves horror movies? Eh. Probably not
Does he hate them? No
They’re just alright
I’m getting monster flick vibes from him for some reason
Dracula, Frankenstein, The Thing, movies like those
My proof? I have none. I can just see it in my head
Do zombies also count as monster flicks or are they their own genre? Either way, I can see him enjoying those too. I think he’d be into the classic monster flicks. The black and white ones
In general he’s into the older horror movies from years ago. Yeah the effects are bad and maybe the acting is too, but they’re the originals and what got the genre rolling
I don’t think horror is his favorite genre so I don’t see him putting one on out of a “man I really wanna see a horror movie” need. More so out of boredom
Is also bothered by dumb actions, but he understands that the movie gotta keep moving somehow
The type that can watch a horror movie then go to sleep immediately after
Doesn’t stay up to date with new horror movies coming out. He just hears about the popular ones that blow up
Like how Hereditary was everywhere
He enjoys them. It’s just not his favorite and he doesn’t think about it
Tumblr media
His favorite subgenres would be paranormal and home invasion
Proof? None. I’m just thinking of subgenres and assigning them-
Paranormal movies are easy to enjoy. Any movie with a supernatural element is easy to enjoy to be honest. He can put it on and just relax
Home invasion movies are for days when he really wants to feel some fear in his bones
The Strangers (original. Not the recent remake) is a good example
Are the main characters idiots? Yes. Them feeling sad they accidentally killed a friend and leaving the secure room was dumb
But it’s still a movie that gets your blood pumping
Home invasion movies are scary because home is supposed to be a safe space. These movies break that idea
Horror movies are supposed to scare you, and he likes it
Hates unnecessary jumpscares
It’s just super cheap
Just make the movie good and give genuine scares
When horror movies really amp up the sex factor, that also bothers him
He can handle sex, but he didn’t choose to watch an erotic movie. Put the scary shit
I’m projecting
Hates super gorey and/or torture porn movies
Sorry Jigsaw

Finally finished Young Justice S2
it was pretty good! Definitely a huge improvement from the first season even if there's a ton of plot holes and problems still, but it's clear that this season really amped the stakes in an interesting way. They took bigger swings, and sometimes that results in bigger misses. Lingering thoughts:
absolutely ludicrous of Nightwing and the other team members who were in on the "Kaldur is being a double agent" plot, to not let M'gann in on that 😭what do you MEAN you're not letting the telepath who has been mind breaking villains casually in on your Kaldur under cover plot? Ridiculous, biggest plot hole ever.
What exactly is the team's stance on M'gann mind breaking bad guys? Obviously Conner hates it, but I remember Bumblebee telling M'gann to "Brain blast him or something" so? Does the team know M'gann does this and are okay with it? Does Conner tell anyone what M'gann did to him? Aayee
lol @ M'gann saying she can only shapeshift into girls/women when she casually turns into men multiple times this season. But even when that concept was introduced they contradicted themselves in that very episode.
There's something,,, uncomfortable about the whole Arsenal plot where he ends up getting kicked out of the team. My memory's a bit foggy since I watched the episodes in chunks but- I thought Nightwing cutting Arsenal off the team was uncalled for? Like sure Arsenal panicked and got everyone captured because of it, but then he essentially single handedly (hah) saved everyone again, leading a rag tag new team to help him save his friends. Sure it was his fault that they got captured in the first place (because he was traumatized from fear of being captured again) but well. If he isn't psychologically fit to be back on the team so soon after being traumatically trapped for so long,,,why is he on the team to begin with? It gets into this uncomfy convo where the Young Justice team just kinda normalizes child soldiers to hop right back into intense crime fighting before they had a chance to recover mentally. Like he more than made up for his mistake in my opinion.
Way too many characters again! Especially by the end of the season. They really should've just focused on the cast surrounding Blue Beetle, Impulse, and Arsenal as new characters because their plots were the center of the conflict really! The Batfam members didn't have a personality and felt superfluous to the cast.
The rag tag team of meta kids were done dirty by the end! Static just joins Young Justice at the ending in a way that felt mandatory instead of natural.
I can't believe they just shipped a bunch of characters at the end again like last season lol I was caught off guard by that completely.
Waaay too much exposition, most of which felt unnatural. I know this season's plot is way more ambitious, but there could've been better ways to give us that information. Many of the episodes were just "plot is progressing" and not giving characters a chance to grow through their arcs.
Overall, I had a good time even when I was frustrated at certain plots. This is definitely not the Young Justice slump era I know is coming eventually, lol.

Read your post about wu, misako, and garmadon and the love triangle. Great post and loved your joke. If you didn't make a post yet, I was wondering what your opinion is on the season 3 love triangle between Nya, Jay, and Cole?
Tumblr media
Part two-
Okay so history lesson: season three is around the time the showrunners figured out that girls watched the show as well, and what better way to appeal to girls than with love drama right guys??? Because that's not stereotypical and insensitive, and butchering female characters for the sake entertainment isn't misogynistic at all!
... Okay so I have some negative thoughts, but the love triangle doesn't necessarily have to be bad? It's not great writing, but NinjaGo writers are known to sacrifice consistency for the sake of the plot a LOT so I'm not going to make a huge deal out of it. Up until Cole was described as Nya's "perfect match," she never had any interest in him. The love triangle between her and Cole comes completely out of nowhere, and gets treated more seriously in the show than most of the fans take it.
So let's try to break it down - Nya and Jay establish at the beginning of season 3 that they have some boundaries. They don't state what they are, but it's implied Jay isn't allowed to fawn over her and get super clingy. Which, after a reminder, Jay actually fulfills. The first episode implies they're in a healthy relationship, with even their students knowing about it. Nya even seems excited by the idea that Jay might be her perfect match.
Then she gets paired with Cole, and she insists no one say anything. Now, I'm gonna dip into my psychology classes and say that Nya's sudden "feelings" and "attraction" to Cole is based off of the power of suggestion rather than actual attraction.
The Power of Suggestion is the theory that when an individual has an idea conveyed to them, and only after that, said idea becomes a reality. The way it works is that your brain has to consider every idea that pops up in it, and how you react to that idea can strengthen it. Nya's extreme shock to the idea that she's meant to be with Cole solidified the suggestion that she should be with him in her mind, and with the way the human brain works, she was already thinking of reasons why. When your brain makes a statement, it automatically looks for proof, and so that's why Nya was able to believe that she genuinely had feelings for Cole - because she had plenty of reasons for why she could.
It's confirmed that Cole didn't really have feelings for Nya. He liked the attention, and because of Jay immediately getting mad at him for it, he amped up his own reactions. I don't think Cole ever had feelings for Nya, and he just got competitive because that's part of his personality.
Jay on the other hand. Since day ONE Jay has been interested in Nya. He wanted to know her favorite color, wanted to impress her. Him unlocking his true potential was because she admitted she actually liked him no strings attached. He's been head over heels for that girl from the start, and he's canonically very insecure about being liked. So when Pixal, someone who almost never lies, says that she's supposed to be with Cole, and Nya doesn't immediately reassure him? He was bound to react the way that he did. That being said, immediately jumping to violence was wrong of him, especially because he didn't technically have proof Cole had acted on anything, but it makes sense.
To put it bluntly, everybody messed up. Nya shouldn't have hid the perfect match thing, or tried to initiate any kind of romantic affection with Cole. Cole shouldn't have reciprocated, and especially shouldn't have endorsed hiding it from Jay. Jay should have asked what was going on, and actually gotten the information he needed before going on the attack - not to mention he should have focused his hurt on the fact that Nya actually kind of cheated on him, but it's understandable why he was mad at Cole.
If someone wants to argue for Mudshock, I'm all for it! I just don't like the way it was canonically portrayed. It did feel very teenager-y so kudos to the team for being accurate to the vibes, but ultimately they ended up butchering two incredible characters (Nya and Cole) for the sake of marketing. I don't think anyone who wrote this actually knows how upsetting it is when you find out your partner is cheating on you with your best friend, so they played up the love triangle for the masses.
TL:DR: in canon? I'm not a fan of Mudshock. In fanon, where it gets explored and balanced out and all three of them are healthy and supportive??? ABSOLUTELY SIGN ME UP BABY

Délirant — Thoughteater (Sentient Ruin Laboratories)
Tumblr media
The title of this new LP from Délirant threatens to amp up the dork factor, perhaps to the detriment of the dissonant, menacing environment the music seeks to create. Anyone who played D&D will be familiar with the thoughteater, a solitary and rather stupid beastie, resident in the ethereal plane — and there’s an appealing irony to the creatures’ dim-witted nature. They consumed the energy of thought and other psychological phenomena, but even that diet was unable to increase or sharpen the creatures’ intelligence. The extent to which DB, the Spanish musician who is the sole member of Délirant, has the D&D monster in mind is unclear. Certainly, there’s nothing especially ethereal about the angular, spiky black metal on this record. It’s harsh and heavy noise. But will it suck your brains dry?
Given current socio-political conditions, in the US and elsewhere, the flip answer to that is: We should be so lucky. But no such consolations seem to be in the offing. Perhaps, then, the dissonant, kvlty black metal Délirant creates is what’s needed, as the soundtrack to decline, violence and mounting cultural chaos. Lots of black metal acts have been actively inviting precisely that sort of social phenomena. Some bands (the now largely disappeared Cascadian variety, the more radical of the RABM acts) do so as outraged reporters on humanity’s insufficiency to itself and to its capacity to manage existence on our increasingly distressed earthball. Other black metal acts (the satanic, the cynically misanthropic, the race-baiters and corpse-painted trollish types) have done so with a sort of mordant or mean-spirited joy. Swell.
“Mordant” and “mean-spirited” are modifiers accurately applied to one of DB’s other solo projects, the nasty, raw-punk-inflected Hässlig, which mostly recently issued its Apex Predator tape. Elsewhere this reviewer noted discomfort with some of the project’s semiotics: the recourse to Germanic language alongside of titles like “Slaves” and “Watch Them Hang.” Maybe it’s just button-pushing, maybe it’s sharp-edged irony. But when Alternative for Deutschland is ascendant and Elon Musk is telling right-wing Germans to stop acknowledging the weight of their very particular history, irony isn’t a particularly potent weapon — even from the relative distance of Valencia, DB’s home province in Spain. And maybe it’s just these ears, but when this reviewer hears Délirant’s guitar tone and angularity, he conjures the shape and textures of middle-period releases from Deathspell Omega, über button-pushers and players of peek-a-boo with fascists. It doesn’t help that DB claims Bone Awl and Ildjarn as primary sonic influences for Hässlig.
So: 2025 and we are still fussing over nationalisms and fascism in black metal and adjacent subgenres in heavy music. It’s tired stuff. Your reviewer is a tired man, tapped out by anxiety and rage and his own resentments. The kicker? I really, really like Apex Predator and enjoy, to a somewhat lesser extent, Thoughteater’s friction and dissonance. Sometimes it would be swell to stop questioning, digging on the effing internet and worrying over the implied politics of what’s spinning through the tape deck’s heads or buzzing through the Bluetooth speakers. Maybe it would be nice to take the edge off, to let the thoughteater suck away on all that ambient fear and twitchy thinking. But it won’t help the earthball, or the cultures churning their way toward idiocy and extinction.

Yeah, so I spoil tf out of the latest love and deepspace story patch, you've been warned.
Ok yeah, I'm a big fan of Caleb's character in the same way I enjoyed psychoanalyzing Succession's main cast for ages. Like, there's so much to unpack here that it's like one of those luggage conveyor belts in an airport! And honestly, yeah, it got into the psychological horror category for me personally, although I'm aware that "dark romance" novels are killing it rn. And I'm 100% sure that Paper is chasing that bag with this character.
But anyways, I do enjoy a "road to hell is paved with good intentions" story. Like, I'm coming at this as the significantly older elder sibling that picked up the Eastern European Parent brand of tiger parenting from my own upbringing. I'm trying to grow out of it and give my younger sibling some space, as I'm aware that it's my worst trait.
And this story felt like this mindset amped to 100. Yeah, sure, you want your loved one to be safe. To an extent that set off the "psychological horror fan" part of my brain.
But then again, he's always been the one shielding the protag in both psychological and physical ways since they were kids. And who knows how many times he almost lost her. So, hey, let's all act like everything is back to normal, even if it requires him to lie directly and via omission, yeah? Let's still continue to play the "reliable elder sibling" role by doing things like not letting her see him sick in that one side story!
Like, I understand the impulse, even if I don't agree with it. Anyways, 2nd fave character now.

Participation Trophies Rock!
Stephen Jay Morris
8/31/24
©Scientific Morality.
Conservative males like to mock anything that smacks of coddling or sensitivity. After all, men don’t cry. According to them, the true meaning of masculinity is to be immune from hurt and act cavalier with a fake smile. Be nonchalant! Only one problem with that edict:  If you don’t possess emotional sensitivity, then you have brain dysfunction. On the other hand, if you are hypersensitive, then you have a psychological problem. Most absolutist propositions are fucking retarded. I watched hours of black and white television to appreciate color T.V. This can apply to the philosophy of life.
What is wrong with a memento that designates being a part of something? There cannot be any winners without losers. Plus, trophies look nice on your fireplace mantle. You are not rewarding sensitivity or weakness to spare hurt feelings. What you are doing is thanking someone for PARTICIPATING!!! What’s wrong with that? They do give out Meritorious Service Citation Certificates in the military. For what? For participation, you dumb shit! Why are people on the right so fucking stupid?!
Some call it pride, others call it ego. What’s wrong with getting recognition for helping a cause, a sports team, or a nation? How about an art movement? Vincent van Gogh was the founding father of Impressionism. Was he rewarded? No! He died in poverty and neurologic illness. Cracker plebeians believe that the only individuals who should be rewarded are the soldiers who kill enemy combatants in some useless or important war. Bravery should be rewarded like the work of astronauts or firefighters. How about scientific innovations or artistic achievements?
Now, to my main subject. How many baseball players never got recognized for their participation in organized sports? Without players, there cannot be a Babe Ruth or a Hank Arron. Do you know who the pitcher was when Hank Arron hit the homerun that broke Babe Ruth’s record? Of course you don’t. Only the so-called heroes prevail. All this macho eugenics mentality is why we have fascism. It’s not about being fair, it is about historical correctness.
It was considered normal for American boys to aspire to be firefighters or policemen. Then something happened in the 50’s. When Elvis appeared on the scene, every boy wanted to be a Rock star. Rick Nelson for example. He wanted to impress his girlfriend by imitating Elvis. It worked. Five hits later, he was grateful to Elvis. I’m not going to give the history of Rock and Roll here, so let’s just cut to the chase. The Beatles was a band for teeny bopper girls, and the Rolling Stones was for the boys. All teenage boys loved the Stones. What happened in the suburbs was, while dad was at work, the kids used the garage for rehearsal space. There were these small amplifiers and Silver Tone guitars you could buy from Sears department stores. There were drum kits made in Japan. The singers of these garage bands would plug into the guitar player’s Amp, and then went on to Rock heaven. In 1965, you could walk by any garage and hear some pimple-faced kid sing “Satisfaction.” That year, a thousand Rock bands were created.
By 1966, some garage bands had made it onto the local charts, and some made it onto the national. Most bands only played at school dances and parties. Some made their own records and produced 500 copies. They took them to radio stations, but they just ended up in the trash. By 1967, most bands broke up and went on to college, while others went to fight in Vietnam. The bands whose records made it onto the charts became what is known as “One-hit Wonders.” Others tried their hands at psychedelic music but weren’t into it, so they broke up.
The sound that those 1965/66 bands tried to emulate was that of the Rolling Stones. Funny, the Stones tried to copy old black singers but sounded like Cockney punks instead. Lead signers of American Garage bands tried to sound like Mick Jagger, but instead, sounded like snotty delinquents from the streets. Some wrote their own songs and recorded them on reel-to-reel tape recorders, many of whom left those tapes on a dusty shelf in their parents’ garage. Amazingly, many of those tapes have been found.
In 1952, a compilation of American Folk Blues and Country music was released in a triple record release. Because of that record, a folk movement began, and it took off in 1958. It ended in 1965. If not for those recordings, no one would know who the hell Woody Guthrie was.
Then in 1972, an album series called “Nuggets” came out. Produced by Lenny Kaye, they featured a compilation of various groups who’d had songs on the charts in 1965, 1966, and even 1967. Some who’d had the garage sound had been on minor labels. One, for example, was the Standells. But the kicker is:  they’d never seen a garage in their life! They’d wanted to be a pop band like the Beatles but failed at that. So, they imitated the Rolling Stones and baa-boom! They created the proto punk sound. They had this one hit song, “Dirty Water,” and minor hits like, Sometimes Good Guys Don’t Wear White.” That song’s famous fade-out yell went: “If you don’t like this long hair, get yourself a crew cut, baby!”  In the 80’s, the skinheads did just that.
As the years went on, the compilation albums featured more and more obscure bands. Most of these band members are in their 70’s and 80’s now. A lot of them had families and worked at jobs they hated. Some of them became alcoholics, drug addicts, peeping Toms, and Republicans. Sadly, the only way many of them could get recognized was by getting killed in Vietnam.
There should be a tribute to those thousands of musicians who had dreams of groupies, music awards, gold records, and to be on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. That would be the American way. There is nothing wrong in showing your appreciation to anyone.  Lift someone’s ego today!

I'm asking this question to several authors I admire, so if it seems a little random, feel free to blame my overthinking brain.
I frequently read fanfics about hybrids and honestly, I really enjoy them. However, I often find myself with little context about many aspects of the hybrid universe, so I’d love to know your perspective on it.
For example:
• How do you imagine the origin of hybrids in your universe? Are they a natural evolution, a genetic mutation, or a scientific creation?
Additionally, I have a few more questions I'd like to ask:
• How do the government and society treat hybrids in your universe? Do they have the same rights as humans, or do they face discrimination in any way?
• How do you envision interactions between hybrids of different species? Would there be rivalries, alliances, or specific ways of coexisting?
• If there’s adoption of hybrids by humans in your universe, how does that process work?
• How do you approach the topic of heat and hybrid reproduction in your universe? Do they follow similar patterns to real animals or do they have their own biological rules?
• How do you imagine the hybrid nature (half-human, half-animal) would affect their emotions and psychology?
I’m sorry if this seems like a lot or a completely off-topic question (because I know it kind of is), but I’m genuinely curious since no one seems to talk about these aspects in depth.
Regardless of your answer, thank you for your time and patience! Have a great day 🤘🏻😁💖
(If you see this same message sent to another author, don’t worry—I love you all equally!)
hi! i've never written a hybrid au myself because i have no idea if people would actually like to see that from me (seriously doubt it NQNSJEJKWID) but i do have a few ideas! i'm not sure if you meant to send this to me since i don't really write hybrid stuff but regardless here i go:
1) i like to imagine they're a scientific creation. i think i like that the most because it makes way for more angst (to me at least) because then i could make the hybrid feel isolated from human society and create conflict there
2) i would make hybrids be seen as subhuman, which ties into their creation. they would be fighting for their rights but would ultimately still be discriminated against because of their origin
3) i think there would be presumed genetic dispositions that would make you think a certain hybrid would like/dislike or coexist in different dynamics with other hybrids but in my world they would probably be so human that it wouldn't really matter what breed they are
4) i think adoptions would be similar to animal adoptions irl. the younger, cuter, rarer ones get chosen first while the others have a harder time getting adopted. depending on the quality of the adoption center/demand of the hybrid, the vetting process would either be lax or extremely demanding (e.g. you must have x amount of space, x amount of income etc.)
5) i think they would have a heat cycle and feel the need to breed but they would be able to crossbreed which i don't see a lot in hybrid au's
6) there would be a lot of feelings of inferiority and helplessness because they would have less rights/respect than humans do so i would prob make reader a human to really amp those emotions up and ensure that the hyrbid didnt feel deserving of the human at all
bonus: if i were to do this i'd probably make reader a depressed or anxious human in need of an emotional support hybrid and the male lead would be a moody hybrid that has trouble getting adopted 🫶 again i don't think that anyone would want to even see me write this because it's so out of my usual lane but it excites me nonetheless
thank you for asking and have a great day ❤️

Breaking Down The Idea of Sex
Sex is a complicated topic, one of which is typically taught very poorly and looked at very specifically. I could go on about the failings of mainstream sex education in schools and households, but I am afraid that would take entirely too long and wear all yall's patience.
The purpose of this blog is comprehensive, queer-centric sex education. This starts with breaking down the routinely taught (cisheteronormative) idea of what sex is and what it's supposed to look like, as it is the core of many queer people's plights upon first exploring our sex lives. In addition to that, portrayals of queer sex through media, the internet, and even through other people can be rigid or lacking in their own ways, leaving individuals at their own weird place on truly understanding what sex is and can be.
So hold on tight, we've got a lot to cover, starting from some major misconceptions:
Sex isn't just penetration and there's more to it than your genitals
Most of us come to realize that hands and tongues can be the star of the show, but there is much more to sex than that. We have so many nerves and sensitive areas (erogenous zones too), that you don't even need to get your genitals involved if you don't want to. Where you like to be touched sexually will depend on you, but some examples of areas on your body that may like some gentle fingers or tongues are inner thighs, outer thighs, neck, hips, waist, lips, etc. People tend to understand non-genital sexual touching in the context of foreplay (which is important and you should invest in putting good time into it), but it can be so much more than that.
Looking at things like kink play can give you a better understanding of this, people go and tie each other up, talk sexually to each other in specific ways (language is very important, more on that later), melt candle wax on each other, and many other possible activities, and sometimes that IS the sex.
But most importantly, your mind is WAY more important that people like to give credit for or even understand, at least AS important as your body. How we experience sex psychologically and emotionally is a huge part of the experience, it's where arousal starts and is how the whole experience is interpreted and enjoyed. It's how a partners words and imagination can turn you on and amp up the pleasure you receive from a sexual experience. How you feel (both in a tactile and emotional sense) during sex and the exchange of sensations feelings between you and your partner dictate your experience and how you perceive it. With that said, pay mind to your mind during sex, cater to it by checking in on how you and your partner feel, setting the mood, talking to each other in ways that make you both feel good, and overall investing in feeling the experience in a way that is fun and fruitful.
Orgasms (or lackthereof) does not define the 'successfulness' of a sexual experience
A HUGE misconception is the perception of 'successful' sex having an orgasmic conclusion. Now don't get me wrong, orgasms are cool and all, the additional flurry of brain chemicals brings satisfaction and benefits, but not having one doesn't particularly mean that the sex was bad or that it wasn't satisfying.
The main issue is that because people typically perceive it that way, it brings down a self fulfilling prophecy of dissatisfaction, frustration, and more negative emotions that take away from the experience and possibly strain the relationship with your partner (whatever that relationship may be). Now don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about that classic scenario of a partner being self-centered and self-serving and bringing themselves to orgasm but not their partner (in that case you get good by listening to your partner and being attentive to their sexual needs). What I'm talking about is sometimes you try something that doesn't bring pleasure like y'all had hoped, or the mood falls apart, or its not a good time and sex just isn't working out that day. In addition to that, people's bodies are complex and fickle, and so is sexual function. Some may have some form and degree of sexual dysfunction that is based in a bodily dysfunction (contrary to popular belief, small flukes are common), or it could be an environmental factor. Because the mind plays a huge role in the sexual experience, a shift in environment (like your mom calling), or your mind wandering to something different (as it do sometimes), can easily have the delicate chemical balance and physiological mechanism of sex fold like a lawn chair, then you have to start over or call it a night. It just be like that sometimes.
What's important to learn is that the goal of sex is that you had a good time. What that means is different from everyone, it's important to sit yourself down and ask yourself what successful, satisfying sex means to you, then you do that with your partner. Accepting that orgasms and sexual physiology can be fickle and complicated will do a lot for you in terms of achieving a healthy, satisfying sex life, especially if you and/or your partner do suffer from some kind of sexual dysfunction.
Good sex isn't just about how it ends, its just as much about how it went before that (sometimes it really is about the friends you made along the way). Mentality, attitude, and perspective mean tons here.
Regardless of love and intimacy, respect and trust are vital to a healthy sex life
As things like hookup culture have taught us, sex can be a thing outside of love, sometimes people just want to fuck, and that's okay. What you DON'T do is EVER leave out respect and at the VERY LEAST, a basic amount of trust that is proportionate to the vulnerability involved is trusting someone with your body and your mind for a moment. Respectful sex where you trust the person you are having sex with is healthy sex. Not trusting or respecting the person you are having sex with (on either or both sides), leads into some sketchy territory that allows for people to get hurt and have bad or straight up traumatizing experiences. As mentioned before, your mind is just as important, if not MORE important to your body in terms of sexual experience and function, which applies to the vulnerability that comes with sex. Although I advocate for love, intimacy, respect, and trust be present (love and intimacy are also important to healthy sex), sometimes, that just isn't the nature of the sexual relationships that you may have. Like I was saying, that's okay. BUT, if you don't at least trust and respect your partner, you PUT THAT THANG AWAY. I'm NOT playing, don't get yourself hurt boo, go get yourself a toy or something, its not worth it.
______________________________________________________________
Point being, there are many different ways to moosh your meat together with someone else, and what you like and want to do depends on personal preference. Finding out what your preference is involves experimenting with different things is a safe environment, maybe even surfing the internet and seeing what other people do and maybe you will see something that turns you on, or something you want to try. Sex is whatever you want it to be.
Next up: Trans Sex

I’m just gonna write here like a journal because I don’t use this platform very often. This is just yapping so pay no mind if it makes no sense.
My anxiety has been amped to a million the last 6 months I’m surprised I haven’t had a heart attack. I’ve been getting angry a lot any time I’m alone, and I over talk when I’m with my friends to fill the space. My brain is occupied by boiling regret and anguish towards my family, where I am today, and why I’m not where I’d like to be. I’ll be 30 soon and I haven’t completed one thing worth mentioning, I work part time at a job I hate and I don’t make enough to support myself. I know I need to kick my own ass and work a shitty full time job to get out of this hole but fuck am I shell shocked to do anything about it. The anxiety is an intense monster of a being stepping on my chest and flooding my veins with concrete.
I’m terribly, horribly, painfully angry at my mother. I love her to death and back, my soul still feels heavy for her despite the resentment. Her 3rd husband ruined a good chunk of my life, and finally pulled the shittiest crash outs on my teenaged sibling. He went to jail but she let him back in and it doesn’t seem to phase her that she’s being manipulated just like he manipulated me and my sister and everyone around him. I hate him. Honest to gods, I hate him. The jobless, annoying, overbearing fucker. I’ve lost every good opportunity in my young life because he blocked it all up with fear. I fled young and never got the schooling I wanted, stayed with a bad ex for years because the physical violence was better than the psychological manipulation. Now I’m scared of any hims. Any he’s. Any his…
Now I’m just this shell of a person pushing 30, and that’s dramatic but damn do I feel hollowed out and left to stitch myself back together thread by thread, inch by inch.

Nik Shah: Exploring the 5-HT2 Receptor Family and Its Role in Brain Function and Mental Health
The 5-HT2 receptor family is a crucial group of receptors in the serotonergic system, involved in a range of physiological processes from mood regulation to cognitive function and neurotransmission. These receptors, specifically the 5-HT2A, 5-HT2B, and 5-HT2C subtypes, play an essential role in maintaining balance within the central nervous system (CNS) and regulating processes such as mood, sleep, appetite, and behavior. Nik Shah, a recognized expert in neuroscience and mental health, has delved deeply into the mechanisms of these receptors, studying their implications for conditions like schizophrenia, psychosis, depression, and anxiety.
In this article, we will explore the 5-HT2 receptor family, its structure, function, and its impact on brain health and psychological disorders. Drawing from Nik Shah's research, we will look at how 5-HT2 receptors affect neurotransmission and their therapeutic potential in managing disorders such as psychosis and depression. Furthermore, we will examine the therapeutic opportunities these receptors offer in the treatment of neuropsychiatric conditions.
What Are the 5-HT2 Receptors?
The 5-HT2 receptor family refers to a group of serotonin receptors that mediate serotonin's effects in the brain. These receptors belong to the G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) family and are activated by serotonin (5-HT), a neurotransmitter involved in regulating numerous physiological functions, including mood, cognition, and sleep. The 5-HT2 receptor family consists of three main subtypes:
5-HT2A
5-HT2B
5-HT2C
Each of these receptors has distinct roles and functions within the body, with significant effects on neurotransmitter release, neuroplasticity, and brain function.
The Role of 5-HT2A, 5-HT2B, and 5-HT2C Receptors
The 5-HT2A receptor is particularly well-known for its involvement in psychedelic effects and hallucinations. This receptor subtype is heavily implicated in schizophrenia, psychedelic drug effects, and mood disorders. On the other hand, the 5-HT2B receptor is mainly found in the heart and vascular tissues, playing a role in blood pressure regulation. The 5-HT2C receptor, located in both the brain and periphery, influences mood, appetite, and behavioral regulation, and is involved in eating disorders and obesity.
Nik Shah, in his article What Is the 5-HT2 Receptor Family?, gives an in-depth explanation of these receptor subtypes, highlighting their distinct locations and the roles they play in different physiological and psychological processes.
Structure and Function of 5-HT2 Receptors
5-HT2 receptors are seven-transmembrane domain receptors, which means they span the cell membrane seven times and transmit signals from the outside to the inside of the cell via G-proteins. This characteristic enables the receptors to initiate a variety of intracellular signaling pathways when serotonin binds to them. These signaling cascades can lead to a wide range of effects on neuronal activity, muscle contraction, and hormonal secretion.
Nik Shah, in his article Structure and Function of 5-HT2 Receptors, details the activation process of these receptors, where binding to serotonin triggers the opening of ion channels or the activation of second messengers like inositol trisphosphate (IP3) and cyclic AMP (cAMP). This leads to the release of intracellular calcium and changes in neurotransmitter release, which are important for mood regulation, cognition, and behavioral responses.
The Impact of 5-HT2A Receptors on Brain Function
The 5-HT2A receptor is predominantly involved in regulating cognitive processes such as attention, learning, and executive function. It plays a central role in neuroplasticity, the ability of the brain to reorganize and form new connections in response to learning or experience. Nik Shah explains in his research how 5-HT2A receptors are essential for synaptic plasticity, helping the brain adapt and form memories, which are crucial for emotional responses and learning.
Furthermore, 5-HT2A receptor activation has been implicated in psychotic and hallucinogenic states, and these receptors are often targeted in the treatment of schizophrenia and other mental health disorders.
The Role of 5-HT2C Receptors in Mood Regulation
The 5-HT2C receptor is critical for regulating mood, appetite, and behavior. It is involved in neurotransmitter modulation, especially for serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine, which are essential for mood stabilization. Disruptions in 5-HT2C receptor function can contribute to depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.
Nik Shah highlights how 5-HT2C receptor antagonists are being explored for their potential to treat depression and obesity, as 5-HT2C receptors modulate eating behavior and stress response. By targeting these receptors, new therapies may offer relief for patients suffering from mood disorders or appetite-related conditions.
5-HT2 Receptors and Mental Health Disorders
The 5-HT2 receptor family is heavily involved in psychiatric and neurological conditions such as schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, and psychosis. Disruptions in 5-HT2 receptor signaling can lead to severe cognitive and mood disturbances, as these receptors regulate neurotransmitter systems that control emotional and cognitive processes.
Nik Shah, in his article The Role of 5-HT2 Receptors in Psychosis, delves into the crucial role that 5-HT2A receptors play in psychosis and schizophrenia. Research suggests that hallucinogenic drugs, such as LSD, act primarily by binding to 5-HT2A receptors, which leads to the development of hallucinations and distorted sensory perceptions. Additionally, 5-HT2A receptor antagonists are being tested as potential treatments for psychosis and schizophrenia due to their ability to block abnormal serotonin signaling.
5-HT2 Receptors in Depression and Anxiety
The 5-HT2 receptor family is also implicated in mood disorders such as depression and anxiety. 5-HT2A receptor antagonists have shown promise in reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression by stabilizing serotonin levels and modulating dopamine and glutamate release. Nik Shah discusses how 5-HT2A antagonists can be utilized to target abnormal serotonin signaling pathways, offering new therapeutic strategies for individuals suffering from depression and generalized anxiety disorder.
5-HT2C Receptors in Obesity and Eating Disorders
5-HT2C receptors are also involved in regulating appetite and eating behavior, and their dysfunction has been linked to conditions like obesity and anorexia nervosa. Nik Shah explores the therapeutic potential of 5-HT2C receptor antagonists in managing obesity by modulating eating behavior and appetite regulation. These drugs could help curb excessive eating and promote weight loss in patients with obesity or binge eating disorder.
The Therapeutic Potential of 5-HT2 Receptor Modulation
The therapeutic potential of targeting the 5-HT2 receptor family is immense, especially in treating mental health disorders like schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. Modulating the activity of these receptors can help restore neurotransmitter balance, improve cognitive function, and regulate mood.
5-HT2A Receptor Antagonists in Treating Schizophrenia
5-HT2A receptor antagonists are being explored as potential treatments for schizophrenia and psychosis. By blocking the overactivation of 5-HT2A receptors, these drugs may reduce hallucinations and delusions in patients. Nik Shah highlights ongoing clinical trials that aim to develop 5-HT2A receptor antagonists with fewer side effects than current antipsychotic drugs, offering hope for more effective treatments for schizophrenia.
5-HT2C Receptor Antagonists in Treating Obesity and Depression
As mentioned earlier, 5-HT2C receptor antagonists have shown promise in treating depression and obesity by modulating appetite and improving mood regulation. Nik Shah discusses how these drugs can provide a dual benefit by improving emotional well-being and helping patients manage their weight. These therapies could significantly improve the quality of life for patients dealing with both depression and obesity.
Conclusion: The Importance of 5-HT2 Receptors in Brain and Mental Health
The 5-HT2 receptor family plays a vital role in regulating neurotransmission, mood, cognitive function, and appetite. Nik Shah’s research has shed light on the complex role of 5-HT2 receptors in psychosis, depression, anxiety, and obesity, offering insights into their therapeutic potential. By targeting these receptors, new treatments for neurological disorders, psychiatric diseases, and gastrointestinal disorders can be developed, leading to improved patient outcomes and quality of life.
For further insights into the 5-HT2 receptor family and their role in mental health, mood regulation, and cognitive function, check out Nik Shah’s articles, including What Is the 5-HT2 Receptor Family?, Overview of the 5-HT2 Receptor Family, and The Role of 5-HT2 Receptors in Psychosis. These resources offer a comprehensive look at how 5-HT2 receptors influence brain function, mental health, and overall well-being.

*"I hate her!*
Blah, Blah, Blah...
This is what basic, official personnel say using the beamed communication system from neighboring locations. This after trying everything in the high-tech book of horrors combined with official Psychological Warfare designed to destroy people now entering 18 years, in my case and amped death threats to family members.
What they hate is the truth while living comfortable within the facade!
The cold-hard truth strips them, who were not born with a silver spoon in their mouths of desperately coveted importance. The truth reveal a program toying with many, of all races as human guinea pigs since children which they hate and will never admit.
When it registers that many targeted are not buying the surreal experiences, out of character imposed on them, it resulted in setups designed to open bogus investigations. "She lied" they say after using the technology to create what they seek which they will deny up to their death beds.
They are programmed to protect this program and while at the helm of patented mind invasive, psychophysical and psychotronic technologies on a mission of human experimentation resulting in destruction of lives. Their focus is to convince the awakening masses that this program does not exist, the target is a crazy liar, and within their sickness justify high-tech murder. Their problem being, for one, that it is difficult to deny patented mind control technology widely used and its capabilities.
The truth of horrific human experimentation, decades perfected, targeting men, women and children robs, the basic individual of the glorified hero worship by revealing involvement in a program that is far from heroic. They 100% are hiding behind advanced weapon sytems and devices of mass destruction carelessly using it for destruction while in a dissociative state of being.
What they did not expect, is intelligence from those they thought would be a push-over or the determination of the human spirit ability to take a rightful stand for your God given life and do so effectively.
The fact is, if they were not programmed and brainwashed, blocking the truth they would be useless to their Handlers.
"I hate her!"
Whatever!
This statement in and of itself speaks to the level of character many are dealing with. Did they forget that this is not a personality contest, but war to save lives, including our own, nor am I, personally trying to win Ms. Congeniality. I don't need them to like me!!!
As the veil lifts, what they hate is shattering of the illusion and revelation of selfish delusions of grandeur living a horrific lie creating socio and psychopaths who are clean shaven, suited and in uniform!

WEEK 1- Will never underestimate it again…
I thought it would be an easy task for me since all I have to do is to have a consistent sleeping schedule. However, since I started my work this week, (my first ever job by the way) it challeged me a lot since I have to adjust and balance my study and work as well as my other role as a human being. Though having a first ever job has a big factor on my goal to have a consistent sleeping schedule, the main problem is still using my phone before going to bed. I am guilty with that *cries.
After doing my skincare at night, I can’t control myself not to use my phone specially when it’s tiktok— It entertains me a lot. I keep on saying that I will stop using my phone after 5 minutes but I am shocked when I see that 1 hour has passed already! I’ve watched a video about the so called “Dopamine seeking reward Ioop”. A dopamine is a type of chemical that gives us feelings of pleasure, satisfaction and motivation. In the Dopamine seeking reward loop, this chemical boost our curiosity to seek information that leads us to keep on going through something. I believe that I am related to this because I can’t stop scrolling as if I am looking for something and it actually satisfies me. I thought this personal change will be easy for me but when they say that first step will always be hard, I definitely feel that. On the other hand, the hours of sleep that I have is not that of a problem so much. As seen in the photo, my average data is 7 hours and 34 minutes. I must say it is close to my goal which is 8 hours. I am using the Health App to help me keep track of my progress.
Dopamine seeking reward loop is hard to overcome but at the end of the day, it will always be the discipline in myself that will keep me going. I may not have seen a good result for this week, but there are still a lot of time for me to improve and to get better. Fighting!

Looking for scary movie recommendations!
Heyo, my friend and I have been trying to find good scary movies to watch and just keep ending up watching movies that are either not scary or we just straight up don't like, so I wanted to ask for recommendations instead of just listening to horror fans on Tik Tok!
I think part of the problem is when looking for horror, "horror" as a genre seems to cover a lot. I'm not looking for like vaguely eery movies, or disturbing content matter but no real scare factor. That's why I'm saying "scary" movies here instead.
Movies I've watched recently/we've watched together that DIDN'T do it for me/us under the cut! (+ genre preferences)
SKINAMARINK - It was such a bummer that we didn't like this movie because it was so hyped, but it just didn't do it at all. The movie was so dark that you couldn't really see what was going on, so the long drawn out scenes of nothing happening had zero effect. Also the 'let your brain fill in the gaps' type horror doesn't work for me I think. I'm not trying to be vaguely unsettled, I want a good scare. This movie mostly just bored us.
CREEP - I watched this one alone so I dunno what my friend would think, but I just found it weird and kind of stupid. The "twist" was really predictable. The scenes that were really hyped up weren't scary, they were just uncomfortable and weird. It wasn't scary, it wasn't even creepy, it was just weird. and it KEPT GOING. I found myself checking the runtime multiple times, thinking "surely we must be getting to the end?"
THE CIRCLE - It was an interesting concept, but not scary. We mostly found ourselves yelling at the tv hoping they'd kill the clear assholes. The thing with the fetus getting a vote was almost comedic. I think it mostly just made us mad. Again, not scary at all. More frustrating than tense, even.
THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT - I didn't DISLIKE this movie, it was interesting, but again, it wasn't scary. I was hoping the body horror aspect would amp things up, but it didn't. The scariest part for me was scaling the walls of hell because I'm afraid of falling lmao. It was an interesting movie, we had an alright time watching it, but it was disappointing in that we wanted to be scared and it didn't get there.
*** PREFERENCES MAYBE?
Personally, I'm into psychological and supernatural horror. I don't mind body horror/gore, but I don't particularly want to watch movies where the gore is the whole point. I prefer there to be more atmosphere and suspense than just straight gore. Suspense with a good scare payoff is ideal. My friend is into the gorier stuff, so something with a good balance, maybe. I'm not really into horror comedy or really campy horror, either. Highly prefer things that don't involve animal cruelty :) I can handle a bit of like oh there's something ritualistic that happened here but don't kill a cat on screen ykno? if it happens it happens i'll close my eyes but warnings appreciated in that regard
