A/N: I haven’t written in ages so like you’re welcome for this trash

Request: heyyy i love your writing and was just wondering if you were interested in a Loki x reader where the reader is just a random punk chick whos afraid of emotional intimacy and shes trying to tell herself the attraction she feels for Loki is purely physical, but even she herself finds it hard to believe, no matter how much she wants to...? in all these fics the girl is like very anxious and romantic and shy and i would love to read abt a different girl character for once...:)

Summary: You have never believed in love. The mere thought of being in a relationship with someone horrified you. That is, until you met Loki, of course.

Warnings: swearing, fluff, kind of implied smut, major thirsting for Loki

You’ve never been the relationship type. The whole idea of settling down with one person for the rest of your life scared the shit out of you. Most people wanted the domestic life that led to a white picket fence with kids and a golden retriever prancing around the yard. That was the kind of life made for people who planned the color scheme and table settings for their fairytale wedding in a binder all tied up with a silver ribbon. You couldn’t be caught dead wanting that kind of bullshit. One could say you feared commitment or had emotional intimacy issues, but, in reality, those just weren’t your kind of dreams. That was, of course, until you met the one.

Loki.

His long, black hair and cold fingertips fill your stomach with butterflies. You can practically see the reflection of a wedding arch in his piercing green eyes while you listen to him speak. He almost allows you to believe that you want to settle down and be with him forever. That’s not what you want. That has never been what you want. So why did Loki make you want all of that?

You try to convince yourself it’s all purely physical. Loki will casually be standing in the kitchen of the Avengers compound, gracefully leaning against the island, and you’ll visualize him thrusting into you with your bare ass on the granite countertop. During meetings, while a mission is being discussed, you’ll stare at his thighs and want to straddle him, wondering what it feels like to get him so worked up that he would have no choice but to ravish you right then and there in front of the other Avengers. It might be twisted, sure, but sex crosses your mind more often than the idea of a cute love story. Especially if the sex is with Loki.

Yet, sometimes, your mind wanders elsewhere. You imagine Loki curled up in bed with a good book, turning the pages and inviting you to sit beside him as he reads aloud his favorite parts. Sometimes he’ll be sipping coffee in the morning, delicately making small talk with Tony or Steve, and you wonder what his cool cheek would feel like against your lips for a quick, morning kiss. When his hands run through his hair you desperately want to know what his fingers would feel like interlocked with yours on a nightly stroll around the city. Despite your supposed emotional intimacy issues, you can’t help but feel something so fucking emotional for Loki.

Enraged with yourself, you turn to Thor, your closest friend out of the Avengers, for help.

“Y/N, I have no clue why you don’t just tell Loki how you feel,” Thor states, gesturing to something that isn’t there. “He would be delighted to hear it.”

You groan. “Yeah, maybe. But, you know me, I don’t work that way.”

“I don’t understand, Y/N. Everyone works that way. We were born to love one another!”

“Thor, let me put it this way,” you begin to explain. “I’m the kind of girl who lets some guy take her home to have decent sex and then I leave before sunrise. That might be referred to as the walk of shame by most women, but those are some of my proudest moments.”

Thor thinks for a moment before speaking. “Well, you can always just have sex with Loki instead of telling him how you feel.”

“I wish,” you exhale. “That man could have me any way he wants.”

“Perfect!” Thor beams. “Tell him that!”

You chuckle, patting Thor on the back. “Thanks, honey, but I don’t think I could handle the casual sex thing with Loki.”

“I thought you love casual sex...”

“I do! You know I do! It’s just...” You let out a deep sigh. “No matter how much I try to deny everything there’s always going to be something more with him, you know?”

“Yes, I think I understand.”

You nod solemnly. “Thanks, Thor.”

“Anytime, Y/N.”

Suddenly, without warning, a figure materializes in the room. It startles you at first, but Thor is immune to this sort of thing. The tall frame in the green outfit becomes recognizable once you have a second to adjust to the sudden interruption.

“If I may interject...” Loki says, pointing a finger. You study his finger and ponder the ways he could tease with it. “The Captain told me to retrieve you both for a brief meeting this afternoon.”

“What’s it about?”

His eyes study you for a moment, almost as if he is glancing over your figure. You’re sprawled across Thor’s bed, lying on your stomach, hugging the pillow that rests beneath you. Your sweatpants grip your curves nicely and the tight tank top you paired with them leave little to the imagination. He watches you adjust under his gaze, sitting up slightly with a small, confident smile. Loki has always liked your confidence, never becoming too shy or awkward around him. Bringing his thoughts back to the discussion, he answers your question. “I believe it is regarding an upcoming mission, one that I am not allowed to know many details about.”

“Huh, I wonder why that is,” you tease with a sly grin.

Thor laughs loudly. “You’re lucky we even let you stay in the compound.”

“Hilarious,” Loki says with a straight face. However, he struggles to withhold his smile when he sees you laughing. “Sometimes I consider going back to wanting to kill everyone when you make comments like these.”

Thor furrows his eyebrows in frustration. “Don’t say that brother, Steve could hear you and take your words literally.”

Loki glances outside the ajar doorway. “No, I mean it,” he insists, loudly. “I am certainly going to force my way back into being the King of Asgard then eventually rule over all of New York.”

“Shut up, brother!” Thor scolds, getting up from his bed and slamming the door.

Loki laughs at his brother’s anger, looking at you as you roll your eyes at him with a playful grin. “Was that really necessary, Thor? He’s obviously fucking with you just to get you worked up.”

“Sarcasm, I believe is what I was using,” Loki adds. Thor says nothing and sits back down on the bed. “Lighten up, brother, we all know you’re the true King of Asgard.”

“I don’t know,” you contemplate out loud. “I think I could see you being in a more...dominant role.”

Holding your gaze confidently, Loki smirks. “My dear, I don’t have to rule over a kingdom to do that.”

You raise an eyebrow at him, seductively licking your lips. “I mean, if you did just so happen to be a king, I would have to get on my knees for you.”

“You say that like you don’t want to get on your knees for me anyway, love.”

Thor coughs to gain the attention of the two of you. “I would prefer to not be here if this conversation gets any weirder.”

You chuckle, unembarrassed. Thor knows how you are and how attracted to Loki you have become. “Sorry, babe, my mistake. You can leave if you’d like.”

Loki motions to the door. “Perhaps it is better that you leave Y/N and me alone. I would like to have...a word with her.”

“This is my room!” Thor defends. “You’re the ones that should be leaving me alone. I don’t want the two of you to...have your word...in my bed.”

Sighing, you tilt your head at the god with an exaggerated look. Loki nods understandingly. “My room, then?” you ask.

The door to your bedroom is barely shut before Loki has you pushed up against it, peppering kisses along your jawline. You let out an excited gasp, one that he covers with his hungry lips. The pace of your heartbeat quickens as he kisses you, and you know that you can’t do this with Loki just once. You want his lips on yours until the end of time. Almost hating yourself for it, you push a hand against his chest. He stops immediately.

“What’s wrong, my love?” His worried eyes dart across your face, looking for an answer to his question. He brushes a strand of your hair behind your ear delicately and your heart nearly melts.

“Loki...”

“Yes, darling?”

Closing your eyes, you take a deep breath. “As badly as I want this...and you know I want this so fucking badly...”

He chuckles. “I do...”

“I can’t go through with this if...if...fuck.” Your words stop and you find yourself choking on what you want to say. This has never happened to you before. You’re usually so calm, collected, and sexy. There has never been a man that made you want a relationship and you should be completely satisfied having a good fuck with Loki, but you want more. “I can’t go through with this if it’s going to be a one time thing.”

“My dear,” Loki whispers, kissing your lips softly. “We can do this as many times as you like.”

Moaning quietly, you give in to the kiss. It becomes hungrier, more passionate, Loki’s hands traveling down your ass and gripping your thighs. He picks you up, your legs wrapping around his waist as he carries you to the bed. As he sits, lips still on yours, you maneuver yourself to straddle him. It feels even more amazing than you ever imagined. You want to stay like this forever, and you curse yourself for desiring such things. Loki changed you, making you feel things that you have never felt before. The words can’t stay in any longer.

You pull away from the kiss. Loki smiles and locks his eyes with yours. Where you are, where you want to be for the rest of your life, it feels safe. You have never felt more secure than in Loki’s arms. It washes over you instantly, but you know the feeling has been there all along. You’ve never felt it before, and you sure as hell have never said it. But, here with Loki, you know that now is a perfect time. You have to let it out. “I think I’m falling in love with you.”

“I’m so glad you said something,” Loki admits. “Because I have been in love with you since the moment I first laid eyes on you...and I’ve been falling more deeply in love with you every day since.”

“Really?” You smile brightly, asking for reassurance. Loki nods. “I never thought those words would mean so much to me.”

“Well, to be honest, I didn’t quite think you were the loving kind.”

You laugh quietly. “Says you...”

“I became the loving kind when I met you, Y/N.” You blush for what is most likely the first time ever. Loki brings a hand to your cheek, the cold of his fingertips competing with the warmth on your face. He kisses you sweetly and you nearly melt into him. “And what about you, my love?”

“Only for you, Loki, only for you.”

and you guys don't really talk i mean you're just classmates and you both have separate friend groups that's just how it is

basically you guys have to perform a duet of a sing a song by who, in your opinion, is music's best influencer

and you aren't really sure who you'd pick because you listen to an entire hodgepodge of music and you can't be bothered to pick just one

so when you get paired up with donghyuck it's sort of a blessing in disguise bc boy oh boy is he excited

like you know the donghyuck who teases everyone and laughs at his own expense

but you didn't really know donghyuck could act like this?? like a little kid???

all the boys are tired of hearing him bring it up so he's glad he gets to talk to you abt it

and guess what??? you really like the music????

after seeing donghyuck so happy you decide to sing a michael jackson song w him

you begin to enjoy listening to the songs and even ask donghyuck if you can borrow some cds to listen to before school tomorrow, when you have to let your teacher know what song youre going to practice so she can write it down

donghyuck is so so happy he even lets you choose which song you're most comfortable with bc "I know all of them by heart don't worry abt me!!!!"

and as you leave his house that night you kind of think how nice donghyuck is and how cute he gets when he's excited about something

you're actually really glad you got the assignment w him and not someone else

so yeah

after listening to the songs you decide that you like man in the mirror the most bc it's important and a rlly good song

so when you tell donghyuck as soon as you arrive he actually squeals like full on squeals in the middle of the hallway

and his nose does this lil scrunch this when he's happy okay you know the one don't make me describe it

but then he stops and as the two of you are walking towards music class

he gets kind of quiet like "so i kind of took over this assignment and i realized that was a bit rude of me,,,, so maybe if you wanna hang out again and you can show me your favorite musicians??"

and???? you're like??? yes!!!!

bc truthfully you want to hang out with donghyuck more but also this is an opportunity to show him the songs you liked

so you guys choose man in the mirror for your duet, and decide that after checking out your music you'd practice a bit

donghyuck comes to your house after school and he's so excited mostly bc your mom offered him a fudge pop but also bc music!!!

and you explain to him that you like female artists a lot

from all different eras of music

and he's excited to hear bc he too likes girl groups and female voices

so you play him bills bills bills by destiny's child

and he wants you to replay it bc he loves the sass of the song and legit wants to teach jeno tomorrow at school

and you and him basically just hang out and listen to music w the occasional dance break songs

you danced to umbrella by rihanna, single ladies by beyoncé, born this way by lady gaga, starship by nicki minaj, bo$$ by fifth harmony, move by little mix, wannabe by the spice girls, hold it against me by britney spears ,,,,, literally ANYTHING in your playlist bc each song is a bop to just dance around to

you even break out girlfriend by avril lavigne and what dreams are made of by lizzie mcguire

at this point the two of you are just having absolute fun

jumping around and singing into serving spoons

neither of you realize it's nearly eight o'clock until his mother calls him

you both realize you didn't practice but!!! it was fun anyways!!! so who cares?????

still you know you need to practice, so for the next two weeks the two of you alternate which house you visit and practice as hard as you can (for about an hour then you guys play mario cart or smth)

and each practice kinda feels like a date if we're being honest :/

you kinda start to develop feelings for donghyuck,,,

and he's been much more open and flirty with you as the days go by

so you're kind of hoping the two of you might become an item soon bc you rlly like him and it would be a shame if you guys stopped talking after the assignment was over

it really would be but what you don't know is that donghyuck has a harder time talking to you than before and suddenly whenever you laugh at his jokes his palms get kinda sweaty,,,, which has never happened before so what's up with that idk

literally it's just two awkward teenagers not knowing how to deal w your feelings for each other cUTE!!!!

okay enough of that

so the assignment is pretty much over all you and donghyuck have to do is sing your duet in front of the class and get graded on it

so you do and it goes off without a hitch like you and donghyuck's vocals go so well together it's nice :')

the teacher gives you both an A+ like "wow!! i could really see the chemistry and passion behind the song!! great work!!"

and tbh you still think donghyuck might ignore you now

but you're wrong!!!

bc after the bell rings he runs up to you and hugs you so so tightly like you're pretty sure you just broke a few ribs

and he's like !!!!!!! i can't believe we got an A !!!!!!!

and you're like i know!!!!!!!

when he lets you go he suddenly looks rlly nervous like the tips of his ears are red and awe it's cute bc his hands have retreated into the sleeves of his hoodie

"um, y/n, idk, maybe if you want to, we could, like, go get some ice creams after school? to celebrate of course,,,"

and you can't help but blurt out your next sentence, "like a date??"

he shrugs "idk, do u want it to be?"

and the two of you don't even realize it really but you kind of become inseparable and donghyuck is always holding your hand or your sleeve or just cuddling up to you y'all know he's a clingy baby

and it's just cute,,,, even mark forgives donghyuck for missing his volleyball game to hang out w you bc now both of you have to sit through them

firstable i am so so so in love with his dedication to the group. there has never been a moment where shownu has not mentioned monsta x on broadcast whenever he has solo appearances on variety ?? a rly recent example is master key, where he was asked to choose a number nd he went with 7 bc there were 7 members in mx and its smth so subtle nd small but also it speaks Volumes about how much monsta x means to him!!! like he rly could’ve picked Any number but went w the one that has a strong tie to his group nd that really melted my heart like ?? hes really thinking abt monsta x nonstop ? mbb but like,,, the leader ? its really like !! i’ve never rly seen anyone mention their group as much as he does !!!

moving a lil further into his relationships w the members, u can tell he has a deep connection to every member ? ofc, we dont know what goes on off camera, but on camera (esp if he’s not the current focus nd he’s in the bg) u can see how he interacts with everyone !! hes very caring towards them nd obviously treasures them so so much, nd i get very familial vibes ? its like all of mx are his brothers nd he is someone who grew up as an only child so i feel like its ,,, incredible he has this rly close, sibling-like bond w mx ... like,,, showheon play fighting ? thats smth u usually see a lot w siblings .. i jus rly lov how he has such a deep connection w all the members, nd its smth thats been in the making for probably longer than just two years ? honestly gkjhds i lov watching fancams when theyre at fansigns bc shownu is rly ? interesting to watch ! he teases the members a lot ,,,

whICH is another i wanna focus on jhgkjds i love when he teases the members or like ,,, bullies them . honestly w how ppl stereotype shownu u wouldn’t expect it but he’s rly just as bad as the rest of them fsjakhfjka nd i mean this in a good way !!! an example is at a fansign, he drank all of hyungwon’s coffee nd put it back nd made sure he knew shownu was the one who finished it nd he looked so proud of himself .... plus he has a fixation w pushing everyone younger than him over nd out of the frame nd its really funniefejk

also another thing i lov abt shownu is his humor gahjkds i’ve touched on this a lot in past essays but hes actually ?? really funny ????? his humor is very deadpan nd not really Built on jokes so his unexpected comments are always smth i look forward to !! also !!! he likes to break into random dance nd like ,,,, noah fence but i lov it ... its so cute when he starts randomly dancing ...

nD LET ME TALK ABT HIS PASSION FOR DANCE OKAY OH BOY shownu is the embodiment of a good dancer to me like ??? he moves so fluidly, hes so in control of what hes doing but its so natural ??? nd if u wanna see his improvement i really recommend watching hit the stage bc his growth (esp w his expressions, its smth he struggled w) is incredible !!!!!! he goes from a good dancer to an even better one, nd watching it happen across the span of like 3-4 videos is just ??? wow ???? how u improve that fast ??? lmk ??????

also !!!! his vocals !!!!!!! my god !!!!!!!!!!!! honestly before i got into monsta x, i had some of their songs in my itunes nd i really already fell in love with his voice before i knew the group. its so soothing and soft and he has such an amazing range ??? he can hit low notes nd high notes nd notes in between nd his versatility really astounds me ,,,,, the best examples for this are definitely their title songs (shine forever nd all in nd a bonus to newton !!!!) as well as because of you and gravity (both of which i listen to like,,, Religiously .), nd i reaaaaaally recommend u listen to this video so u can get to hear his range nd gkahsdkj wow his voice is really beautiful :-( of all the voices i listen to, his is really my favorite. i rly hope starship lets him sing an ost one day ,,, i’d Nut

nd LAST POINT i wanna talk abt is his own growth in self confidence ??? honestly as someone who struggles w self love, watching shownu develop w his own self confidence is so so so inspiring !!!! i talk abt this a lot but in debut, he really was silent nd like ,,,, i hate 2 say this but ~robotic~ nd i think it has a lot to do with him not being confident ??? especially with variety, it was really always painfully awkward if he was given screen time but he has improved so steadily over the past two years. hes really like,, the variety king now . nd he’s mentioned a few times he wants to feel more confident doing solo vlives nd u can tell hes become more comfortable w it !!! im really really proud of shownu for always stepping out of his comfort zone nd doing what he doesnt normally do bc he always comes out of it as a more confident person nd its just !!! wow !!!! its really something i admire nd love him for :-(

draw as much as possible! even if it’s just lines and shapes with no meaning, you’re still developing your hand/eye skills

BUT: dont draw if you’re not feeling it! if you’re feeling fried, it’s better to take a break. go on a walk to somewhere scenic, read your favorite book, listen to some new music, hang out with friends, or just take a nap! rest up and find some inspiration! you can come back to your sketchbook when you feel energized again

draw stuff that you like! you’ll improve way faster if you’re passionate about what you’re doing

look at art you like with a critical eye. try to examine the different components and figure out what you think works or doesn’t work. try incorporation those components into your own work

read a lot of tutorials and other resources, but take what they say with a grain of salt

ultimately, remember that the only real rule to drawing is that doing it should make you happy

good luck!! i do my best not to pick, but it’s a real struggle; i have lots of scars from it too. ;v; im cheering for you!!!

ohh um! im not sure which pens youre referring to, but if you mean the ones I use for my comics, i color them with Winsor & Newton ProMarkers, and I do the lines with a purple fine-point Sakura Gelly Roll Classic pen! i also use micron pens of all different sizes and colors in some of my non-diary comic art!
