Surprising their partner with a hug from behind, they wrap their arms around them, grounding them in a whirlwind of stress and chaos.

In the middle of a serious conversation, one gently kisses the other’s forehead, breaking the tension with a soft gesture of love and reassurance.

They intertwine their legs under a blanket, sharing a cozy night in, creating a warmth that feels almost electric.

With fingertips, one traces lazy patterns on the other’s back, a soothing rhythm that doesn’t require any words.

When one senses the other is feeling overwhelmed, they pull them into their lap, offering comfort through the simple act of holding them tight.

One cups the other’s face gently, thumbs brushing against their cheekbones, locking eyes for just a heartbeat longer than usual.

Falling asleep with their head on their partner's chest, they’re lulled by the steady sound of their heartbeat, a perfect lullaby.

Mid-conversation, one brushes a stray hair from the other’s face, using the moment to connect through soft, tender touch.

Story Prompt 110

The clock on the wall ticked with a steady rhythm, filling the room with a sense of impending doom. Blood trickled down, staining the lips of the figure sitting bound in chains. Despite the evident pain and damage inflicted, there was a defiant glint in their eye, a spark of resilience that refused to be extinguished.

"You've fallen, just like they all do," sneered the captor from the shadows, their voice dripping with malice.

The figure chuckled softly, a dry, raspy sound that echoed in the dimly lit room. "Fallen? Perhaps. But a hero? That's a title I've never claimed."

The captor's laughter cut through the air like a knife, their amusement evident. "You may deny it, but your actions speak louder than words. Heroes always end up on their knees before me."

With a sudden crack, the chains binding the figure shattered into pieces, falling to the ground with a clang. The captor's eyes widened in disbelief as they watched the figure rise, their gaze burning with an intensity that sent shivers down their spine.

"A hero may fall," the figure growled, their voice low and menacing. "But they always rise again, stronger than before. And this time, I won't be the one forgotten."

A flash of crimson filled the captor's vision, a searing pain spreading through their body like wildfire. They stumbled back, clutching at their chest as if trying to quell the inferno burning within.

"Never again," the figure declared, their voice a haunting echo in the darkness. "Never again will I be at your mercy."

Character Prompt: Switch the roles of two of your characters. How does that impact the story?

Writing realistic characters

Make them rounded. Characters feel 2D when there's only one thing shared about them. They're the funny one and that's it. But the funny one would still have fears and insecurities. The funny one would have a reason behind why they try so hard to lighten the mood. No one is ever just the funny one, or just the love interest. Here are some things to think about.

Add flaws as well as strengths

Fears, insecurities

Dreams for the future

What are they good at? What aren't they good at?

Where are they at in their life?

What's their thought process like?

Do they have any specific speech patterns/habbits

What do/would they do outside of the main plot?

And finally: what do they add to the plot? They must have a purpose!

If your character was a villain (or is) what would be their motivation and why?

Pure greed. Shes always been poor or just barely getting by. It's about time to change that.

She'd do illegal handling in the back streets of Uldah, selling to the poor and needy.

She'd make deals with the dodgy rich people and then turn on them, steal their men and then take their empires.

With loads of money, comes power. She'd begin a monopoly and buy out all the businesses to over charge citizens and if anyone tried to protest she'd have them killed and displayed in the markets as examples.
