Something To Write About

Sometimes, I just write the first thing that comes to mind, Threading the needle through pen and paper's fragile lines. I feel like others around me don't really write anymore, As if my words are lost to autocorrect, and grammar's cold design.

I guess it's too much to ask for a human voice these days,  For eyes that read the soul, not just screens in digital haze, To hear the subtle tremor in a whispered plea,  Or feel the warmth of presence, wild and free,  A genuine connection, Seems to be fading to a past time. ….something to write about….

Space travel was once a very popular communication trade in which species all across the universe entertained. But as worlds die, creatures age and the proximity of planets grow further apart the only real space travelers will have become humans. Their edge at satiating their curiosity is a creature of its own as the death workers refuse to let the knowledge and cultivations of cultures outside of their own world disappear.

As generations pass, the visit of human travelers throughout the lesser and smaller planets becomes more frequent. With their lack of knowledge of space travel and the function of time outside of their own planets, the humans become known as creatures that are able to withstand the hold of time and age.

Deathworlders who don’t age, even after centuries of their time have past, continuously visit Pressee, a world of orange, slimy, long-limbered creatures.

Talk gets out of the humans new found immortality, and though some bigger planetary scientists are skeptical of this a warning of the deathworlders abilities and life expectancy changes. Deathworlders become scarier as the centuries past.

taking a walk/ending up in a private space (i.e., a balcony) to escape a party, realizing that there's more to the other person than you previously thought

when they're silent, together. just appreciating each other's presence - esp if they're absentmindedly playing with the hem of the other's shirt, or something of theirs (like running their hands through the other's hair)

any sort of coming-of-age/ya piece of media where they have one last night to go wild before graduating/moving on

that moment where one realizes that they're in love with the other bc of something small/ordinary they did

one drove across town to see the other and they're breathless and when they get to the door all they can do is smile and softly say "hey." when the other opens it. jesus.

one drunkenly confesses their feelings to the other (completely sober) one and totally forgets about it

Understanding the Types of Scarcity

Material Resources: First, start with food, water, fuel, and ammo. Once you have the basics, move to less commonly thought-about things like batteries, clothing, scrap metal, and wood.

Skills and Knowledge: Doctors, engineers, survival experts, and mechanics would be some people worth knowing or being in a post-apocalyptic world. What if there were none?

Emotional Resources: Once the world goes to hell, trust and community become resources. Surviving sometimes means getting along with others; you'll want all parties to mean it. Getting fed to a zombie so someone can escape sounds like no fun. 

Information: Who are you going to let hold the map for you? Things can get harder on your team if it gets stolen, left behind, or destroyed. In a world without GPS, information is a resource; let's face it, you must trust its handler.

if someone writes a story about a person who doesn't know how to love (romantically) and has never fallen in love with anyone - but then they meet this one person at their lowest times when they've hit rock bottom and become friends, and this friend then eventually leaves, but now this person is stuck with loving the friend and can't even get over them because they don't know how to love and really its a mystery how this friend had crawled into their heart and now they just have to go on living knowing they could never be in a relationship with that friend for a reason,
