How ChatGPT and Bard are Helping Websites and Apps
Google Search has been the dominant search engine on the Internet for a long time. ChatGPT was the first possible rival to Google Search last year. It is an innovative chatbot developed by OpenAI that aims to revolutionize the technology industry. OpenAI's ChatGPT quickly gained more than a million users in a week after its release. This caused alarm at Google, even though ChatGPT has room to grow. Google's business intelligence services introduced Google Bard in 2023 as a response. Businesses that offer process outsourcing are constantly looking for new ways to grow and improve their businesses. AI and machine-learning technology can now help companies streamline their processes and increase their revenue. Many people believe that these new inventions will soon replace us and threaten our jobs. Here, we'll learn about these AI tools and how they could help your business.

Google AI Bard vs. Taino
So Google Bard AI is a thing and it's as bad as you may think. You can go to Google Bard AI and give it feedback which is what I did, but this was the conversation I had with it. To keep it short, when I asked it if the Taino people are still alive, this was the response.
"The Taíno people are not alive today as a distinct ethnic group. However, there are many people in the Caribbean who identify as Taíno, and they continue to practice many aspects of Taíno culture. These people are often referred to as "Neo-Taínos."There is no one answer to the question of how many Neo-Taínos there are in the Caribbean. Some estimates put the number at around 100,000, while others put it much higher. It is likely that the number of Neo-Taínos is growing, as more and more people are becoming interested in their Taíno heritage. The Neo-Taíno movement is a complex one, and there is no single way to define what it means to be Neo-Taíno. Some Neo-Taínos focus on reviving traditional Taíno culture, while others focus on creating a new Taíno identity that is relevant to the 21st century. There are many challenges facing the Neo-Taíno movement. One challenge is the lack of documentation about Taíno culture. The Spanish destroyed much of Taíno culture, and what remains is often incomplete. Another challenge is the fact that the Taíno were a diverse group of people, and there is no single "Taíno way" of life.Despite these challenges, the Neo-Taíno movement is a growing and vibrant one. The Neo-Taínos are working to preserve their heritage and to create a new Taíno identity that is relevant to the 21st century."When asked
"Where is the source to back the claim of Neo-taino"
the response was this: "The claim of Neo-Taíno is backed by a number of sources, including:
Theories about the survival of Taíno culture: Some scholars believe that the Taíno culture survived the Spanish conquest through a process of syncretism, in which Taíno elements were blended with European elements. This syncretic culture is what is now referred to as Neo-Taíno.
The existence of Taíno communities: There are a number of Taíno communities in the Caribbean today. These communities often practice aspects of Taíno culture, such as the use of traditional medicines, the practice of traditional crafts, and the observance of traditional festivals.
The self-identification of people as Taíno: There are many people in the Caribbean who self-identify as Taíno. These people often feel a connection to Taíno culture and history, and they may choose to practice aspects of Taíno culture.
However, there is also some debate about the validity of the Neo-Taíno claim. Some scholars argue that the Neo-Taíno movement is not a legitimate continuation of Taíno culture, but rather a kind of cultural appropriation. They argue that the Neo-Taínos do not have a clear connection to the Taíno people, and that they are often more interested in creating a new identity than in preserving Taíno culture.Ultimately, the question of whether or not the Neo-Taíno claim is valid is a complex one. There is no easy answer, and there are valid arguments to be made on both sides."Of course, after reading this, I was curious where Bard got its information so I asked it this.
"Please provide links for this statement: "Some scholars argue that the Neo-Taíno movement is not a legitimate continuation of Taíno culture, but rather a kind of cultural appropriation."
and the response was as followed. "I'm not able to help with that, as I'm only a language model."
So yeah, it was as bad as you thought it was. Frankly since this AI belongs to Google I was actually expecting something better, links even to supprot it's answer but I didn't even get those.

I fucking hate AI but heavens would it be useful if it wasn't such an unethical shit show
First, just to be clear, I'm talking about actually using AI as a tool to support your writing process, not to generate soulless texts made from stolen data instead of writing yourself.
Back when ChatGPT first became available it was still pretty useless so I had a lot of time to learn about how it's made, how it works and the ethics of it before ever touching the technology. I decided pretty quickly to never use it to generate text (or images) for actual writing and art but I still wanted to experiment with what else it could do (because I'm a nosy bitch that needs to know and poke everything).
And HEAVENS was it a blessing for writing with adhd
The last time I wrote more than 200 words in a day (outside of school work obviously) was 7th grade. I wrote over 8k just in notes the day Google's "Gemini" (formerly "Bard") became available to the public.
In order to not jeopardize my existing work I decided to make a completely new story with Bard's help that wasn't linked in any way to anything I had made before. So I started with a prompt along the lines of "I need help writing a story". At first, it immediately started generating a completely random story about a green tiger but after some trial and error, I got it to instead start asking questions.
What do you want the theme of your story to be?
What genre do you want to write in?
What time period do you want your story to take place in?
Is there magic?
Are there other sentient creatures besides humans?
And so on and so forth. Until the questions became extremely specific after covering all the bases. I could tell that all I was doing was essentially talking to an amalgamation of every "how to write" blog and website you've ever seen and telling it which part I wanted to work on next but it still felt great because the AI didn't actually contribute anything besides a few suggestions of common tropes and themes here and some synonyms and related words there; I was doing all the work.
And that's the point.
Nothing in that exchange was something I couldn't easily do on my own. But what happened was that I had turned what is usually a chaotic mess of a railway network of thoughts into a clear and most importantly recorded conversation. I can sit down and answer all those questions on my own but what usually happens when I do, is that every thought I have branches out into 4-7 new ones which I then attempt to record all at once (which obviously doesn't work, yay adhd) only to end up lost in thought with maybe 20 lines of notes in total after 6 hours at the table. Alternatively, either because I get bored or just because, I get distracted by something or my own thoughts about a different unrelated topic and end up with even less.
Working within the boundaries of a conversation forces you to focus on one specific question at a time and answer it to progress. And the engagement from the back and forth is just enough entertainment to not get bored. The six hours I mentioned before is the time I spent chatting with what is essentially a glorified chatbot that day, way less time than what I spent on any other project, and yet I have more notes and a clearer image of the story than I do about any of my real work. I have a recorded train of thought.
In theory, this would also work with a real human in a real conversation but realistically only very few people have someone who would be willing to do that; I certainly don't have a someone like that. Not to mention that someone doesn't always have time. Besides that, a real human conversation involves two minds with their own ideas, both of which are trying to contribute their own thoughts and opinions equally. The type of AI chat that I experimented with, on the other hand, is essentially just the conversation you have with yourself when answering those questions, only with part of it outsourced to a computer and no one else butting into your train of thought.
On that note, I also tried to get it to critique my writing but besides fixing grammatical errors all that thing did was sing praises as if I was God. That's where you'll 100000% need humans.
tl;dr writing with AI as an assistant has basically the same effect as body doubling but it’s an unethical shit show so I’m not doing it again. Also I forgot to mention I did repeat the experiment for accuracy with different amount of spoons and it makes me extra bitter that is was very consistent

Had a random thought last night about the HH characters playing Dungeons & Dragons, who they would be and how they would play. I asked ChatGPT for some help, here’s what it came up with (I think it’s pretty damn accurate!)
This has probably been done before but idk, please tag anyone who has had this idea already!
Charlie would be the DM. As the Dungeon Master, Charlie would be adept at creating intricate storylines and colorful NPCs. Playing as a wise and benevolent dragon, she'd offer guidance and support to the other players, acting as a mentor figure. Her character might possess ancient knowledge and magical abilities, using them to aid the party in their quests while imparting wisdom along the way.
Alastor would play as a tiefling warlock, embodying the sinister and mysterious nature of his character. He'd wield dark magic and make infernal pacts to gain power, using his charm and cunning to manipulate the other players and NPCs alike. Alastor would relish in playing the role of the enigmatic trickster, weaving intricate schemes and plots to achieve his own ends.
Angel would likely choose to play as a flamboyant and charismatic bard. He would be the life of the party, entertaining his companions with music, laughter, and charm. His character would use his natural charisma to sway allies and foes alike, whether through stirring performances or clever persuasion. Angel Dust would inject humor and levity into the game, keeping the atmosphere light-hearted even in the face of danger. He'd excel at role-playing and improvisation, adding flair to every encounter.
Husk would be a grizzled dwarf rogue, blending his natural resilience with stealth and cunning. He'd be skilled in infiltration and sabotage, using his rogue abilities to bypass traps and unlock hidden passages. Husk's character would bring a no-nonsense attitude to the game, preferring practical solutions over flashy displays of power. Husk would approach the game with a dry wit and a penchant for sarcasm, providing comic relief amidst tense situations.
Vaggie would probably play as a fiercely loyal and protective paladin, dedicated to upholding justice and righteousness. She'd be the moral compass of the group, always striving to do what's right even in the face of adversity. She would be a beacon of righteousness and justice, dedicated to vanquishing evil and defending the innocent. She'd be unwavering in her convictions, inspiring her comrades with her courage and determination. Vaggie would embody the virtues of honor and duty, leading by example and encouraging her fellow players to follow the path of righteousness.
Niffty would likely choose to play as an energetic and hyperactive gnome sorcerer. She would be a whirlwind of energy and chaos, casting spells with wild abandon and unpredictable results. She'd approach every situation with enthusiasm and curiosity, eager to experiment with her magical abilities. Niffty would inject spontaneity and unpredictability into the game, keeping the other players on their toes with her impulsive actions and cheerful demeanor.
Sir Pentious might play as a cunning and ambitious serpentfolk wizard. He would be a cunning and calculating strategist, using his intellect and magical prowess to outwit his enemies. He'd specialise in summoning and controlling minions to do his bidding, orchestrating elaborate schemes to achieve his goals. Sir Pentious would relish in the role of the villain, delighting in the chaos and destruction he could unleash upon the game world.
Cherri could play as a fierce and unpredictable tiefling barbarian. She would be a force of nature, unleashing her rage upon anyone who dares to challenge her. She'd revel in combat, charging into battle with reckless abandon and a ferocious determination to emerge victorious. Cherri would embody the primal fury of her character, tearing through obstacles with raw strength and unbridled aggression.
Lucifer would take on the role of a flamboyant tiefling rogue, embracing the opportunity to explore a different side of his character. As a rogue, Lucifer would be a master of stealth and deception, using his agility and cunning to outmaneuver his enemies and acquire valuable treasures. Despite his regal demeanor, Lucifer's character would possess a mischievous streak, delighting in pulling off daring heists and outsmarting his adversaries.
What do you think? I’m tempted to write a one shot DnD story based on this…

Main OCs (Original Characters)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tiffany- originally a D&D NPC in my first homebrew campaign (Heart of Atlantis), then I grew to love her too much to leave her alone.
Tiffany Mereign, ie Tiff, ie Theophania Athaliah Wilhelmina Fen’U-darah Mereign the Third, Queen of Atlantis, formerly Empress of the Atlantean Empire. Sea elf royalty, born on December 27th, took the throne with her father as Regent after the assassination of her mother Larethire II. She fully took the crown and throne in 1139-1140ce after killing her father Elias for his numerous crimes including the discovery that he was responsible for her mother's death.
The D&D campaign Tiff first appeared in took place in 1139-40ce where the player character party helped Tiff revive a dead goddess and use her power to kill the usurper king Elias and end a war that threatened their people. Said goddess cursed Tiff to die a thousand deaths (not by her own hand) before she can finally rest, all because Tiff rejected the initial offer of ascension to godhood.
Tumblr media
Tiff handled her immortality curse... badly, to say the least. At least she met and married her loving supportive wives Cassie and Anya who help her with her chronic pain and substance addictions. Tiff is addicted to a substance known as heartstone, which is magically radioactive, which means Tiff has to wear protective clothing so that she doesn't irradiate everyone around her. She is stubborn and has a wildly strong martyr and savior complex, and her wives try their best to ground her and help her see that she doesn't have to suffer.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rana - Ranarox La'Rouge, aka Rana, originally started as a Haunted One Bard/Rogue in a Curse of Strahd campaign, then got repurposed and fleshed out as my Dark Urge/Durge OC for Baldur's Gate 3. Raised in a circus and wooed by every pretty face they see, Rana does everything in their power to fend off the Red that swirls around their vision that brings the Urge to kill. If their eyes turn red and you are within melee range, it is already too late for you to run away.
Rana's 'canon' storyline has them falling in love with Shadowheart and Lae'Zel, finding a way to spare Minthara despite being tortured by her, rediscovering their past as the leader of the Bhaalist cult, and saving their daughter Mala from being sacrificed by Orin the Red. They found Mala (instead of Yenna) wandering around Rivington. Jaheira recognized her first as she had been acting as Mala's foster mother, since Rana had smuggled Mala away years prior to protect her from the cult (Rana was a victim of familial abuse and SA and Mala is a result of said abuse whom Rana vowed to protect from repeating the cycle of abuse). Rediscovering their progeny put them both in danger as Orin stalked the party and stole that which Rana only just got back.
Rana resorted to killing Orin to protect their child, and renounced Bhaal within the heart of his temple. Bhaal stole back their very blood and life force, disowning them. Rana only lives on because Jergal claimed them as his champion, and while the Red is never fully gone, they finally see clearly for the first time. Before disowning their murder god father, Rana's blood was black deathly ichor of the unholy god, but after Jergal claimed them, their blood became red full of life and vigor.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ina - (Belongs to my friend Poe, I just happen to be obsessed with her and am the leader of Ina's fanclub) Ina the Kobold is a chaos entity, a zealous oath of glory paladin devoted to a deified Hatsune Miku. She came into existence after my friend rolled up a completely randomized character for a D&D game, and quickly speared her way into my heart with her wacky antics and hilarious zeal for murder.
Ina was created in a secret magical experiment and hatched from a magically irradiated kobold egg. She is made as a contingency plan for Tiffany, so that in the case she as the queen ever goes off the rails and goes against her own morals, Ina will be there to kill her and bring her back to her senses.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Claire - My rage-filled mixed-drow religiously traumatized pyromaniac death cleric. She was raised in a cult to a goddess that stole the name of other gods - Adrestia Andraste, the Lady in White, a homebrew drow goddess of death and war and motherly retribution. Claire's drow mother was the high priestess of the Lady, and in order to become the next high priestess, Claire had to kill her mother in a ritual battle.
Claire walked over enchanted coals, was baptized in holy fire, and slayed a dragon to become the next high priestess of the cult; doing so made her fireproof to everything but her own goddess's flames. On her back they etched an intricate tattoo that brands her as her goddess's chosen, which also allows her goddess to cause her searing pain when she does something she doesn't like. A proverbial shock collar.
Claire is bitter and jaded and tries to escape the cult many times, and eventually discovers the truth of her goddess's identity theft and devotes herself to the goddess's sister Lotte (the victim of the identity theft) instead. Lotte is a drow goddess of fate, death, craftsmanship, and magic, and gives Claire the power to mend and tear the weave of magic itself. Claire is a chosen of both goddesses, one willingly, one unwillingly, and her mission is to break her ties to the Lady in White for good.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Frownless - Ah my favorite eldritch edgelord. Frownless, also called The Frownless or Freddie the Frownless or even Thotarella/Thot by my dnd group (an inside joke), is a shapeshifter known as a shadowless - he doesn't cast a shadow on the ground. Shadowless are akin to eldritch changelings exiled to a demiplane. They appear as orange-tinged red haired elves with four yellow eyes.
Frownless got exiled for killing his cousin in a fit of rage, then made a name for himself as an assassin and overall nuisance. He was hired by Tiff's father to kill her but failed miserably and ended up working for her in a weird toxic relationship instead. He tried dropping a chandelier on her and missed. He loves catfishing people since he's a shapeshifter. I love using him as a punching bag. He ends up Tiff's drug dealer at various points and brings out the worst in her.
---
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Erinyes - My demonsona as it were, a self insert that morphed kind of into their own entity. They're a cheese-loving fury demon called Erin-yes. I often use them as a chaotic mini-me, and a personification of my silliness and rage. Sometimes I'll shove them into things with varied success. In D&D they'd be a tiefling or cambion as a player character, but as an NPC they've appeared as a literal erinyes devil that tried to sell cheese to the players and tormented them at various points.
---
Tumblr media Tumblr media
OT - My old self insert that morphed into their own entity. This one in particular is tied to their dragon age dalish elf iteration as my main Inquisitor Lavellan. OT is a dalish mage Inquisitor and lover of Josephine Montilyet. Originally named Overtaker as a funny play on Undertaker, and then shortened it to OT for brevity, and even made it stand for different names involving the initials O and T. I even used them the first time I ever played D&D in a oneshot where they ended up dying via magic item enchanted to cast power word kill!
I have a lot of OCs but only a few I routinely use, which as of making this post consist of the above. Other OCs include Lyn, Vrei'Dara, Billie, Domi, Inanna, Dela, Johanna, Jorster, Francis, Lotte, Minaeve, Jamboree, Riff, Kestrel, Grimshaw, Veronica, Atlantea, Styx, Judith, and many others.
Others TBA
[edit 03/31/2025] - {I have streamlined this pinned post, added some stuff, removed a few things}
Anyways enjoy my blog I guess? I'm so wordy at times, I know this is a whole ass wall of text to scroll through. You get an appreciative pat on the shoulder for reading through all this.

How to use bard?
Tumblr media
Bard is a new AI chatbot from Google which promises to be the source of real-time information and conversational answers to most questions. To deliver coherent, context-aware responses, it relies on Google's Language Model for Dialogue Applications, LaMDA. Bard is fantastic when the topic of interest deals with current events or information that constantly updates-and could answer anything from trivia to facts. It has entered the competitive landscape of AI-driven tools like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Microsoft's Bing AI.
A person can get access to Bard through the Google website and also by searching for "Google Bard" in a browser. After accessing Bard, one can ask questions, make the most of the conversation, receive immediate responses, and share responses for productivity.
On a PC, users access Google Bard via the browser interface. Open Google Chrome, Firefox, or Edge and go to the Google Bard website. Sign in to your Google account to get personalized answers and recall conversation history.
It's pretty easy to start a conversation by starting with Bard, and the users can save the page as a bookmark so as not to visit again.
Bard has gained popularity among students and professionals and curiously inquisitive minds seeking help or information that have quite proved useful.
Google Bard is an AI-powered chatbot that can be accessed directly via a web browser or downloaded from the Google Bard website. To access Bard on the phone, one shall go to the mobile browser and visit the website of Google Bard. Log in using your Google account; type out your question; and activate voice search. To use Bard with Google: Ensure it is available in your location. Please have the latest version of Google Chrome available. Always ensure that you are logged into your Google account. Note
is it just me or i can never find the answers to my vsode problems on stackoverflow or anywhere for that matter 😭
what will i do when i'm making a project of my own that hasn't already been made by an instructor/the person who made the course i'm doing... im going to dieeeeee.
i "solved" a problem by looking at THEIR css code, copy and pasted different parts to see which one i was doing wrong but i wouldn't have found out if it wasn't for me doing that. i feel like im cheating and that theres no point in me learning how to be a developer
Hiya!
Literally, this is where AI comes in. I use ChatGPT, Bard/Gemini and sometimes Co-pilot (GitHub) for my code - but it's not the only resource I use to learn/help when I get stuck. Huge advantage to know most of what you're doing and have the AI just assist you, I wouldn't recommend a complete beginner using AI 100% and relying on the AI to do everything.
I had someone message me on here saying that they're going to build a whole game using AI to get the code. When I asked them if they ever coded beforehand, they said no but they don't "need" to because "that's what the AI is there for"... bro... like no? I am always for AI to assist you in your code, but not for it to do a whole project for you.
For your situation though, you know how to code but just getting stuck in some areas. What I would recommend is explaining to the AI platform you use what you're trying to code and ask for it to help you. E.g. I recently was stuck on learning how to get the current screen size of the webpage. I knew what I needed for the result but in the middle part I was stuck, so I copied my current code went to Bard and was like "I'm stuck: [paste code] I am trying to do this and that but it's not working" and it will give me the correct code. The best part is, it explains the code so I can even save that in my notes or as comments in my code.
Tumblr media
I make sure I am learning so I don't make the same mistakes letter. That's key 🔑
Hope this helps~! 🖤

Only connect.
-E. M. Forster
It’s kind of wild that Google Docs and Word have slipped generative AI into their writing tools without much attention.
Sudowrite got pushback for using ChatGPT – but so does Microsoft Word. Microsoft invested… a lot of money in OpenAI, and rebranded GPT for Word as “Copilot.” (Tagline: Uplevel your writing journey!) Google launched Bard in March, and is currently testing AI in Google Docs, accessed by a button marked “Help Me Write.”
… How does AI “help” writers?
You can’t improve if you don’t write. Generative AI cuts corners, devalues craft and growth, and robs us of the pleasure of actually writing. What makes writing so satisfying is doing it, and (with perseverance, time, trial, and error) pulling it off.
… Is AI a good “copilot?”
My copilots are writers + friends. A 1AM brainstorm session / moral support chat with my beta makes my work (and life) richer. Community is integral to good work, and sharing stories helps us connect, human to human.
(Anyway – at least Photoshop’s AI gave us swagful Descartes. AI writing gives us… this.)

A little info and PSA about ChatGPT and the other AIs (and how it relates to MM) by u/Larushka
A little info and PSA about ChatGPT and the other AIs (and how it relates to MM) Hi fellow sinners. Since TRGs very excellent video on how Meghan seems to be gaming the system with the Nigerian fiasco, I noticed some confusion in the threads and thought I’d give those who would like it a little guidance as to how current AI works.I’m an IT tech and educator (started with Apple in ‘80) and have been working extensively with AI and specifically ChatGPT for the past year. So, this is a simplified-ish explanation….All these new artificial intelligence programs that have surfaced in the last year - ChatGPT/Gemini/Bard/Claude/CoPilot et al - are what we call LLMs = large language models. The way they ‘learn’ is by being fed pretty much everything that is legally, and maybe not so legally, available to them online. This is literally millions of articles, threads, blogs, social media etc. Billions of words. Interestingly, as of very recently, this now includes Reddit. So everything we write here will be sucked up too!! They assimilate all this data and ‘learn’ from it, which sort of means that they learn patterns and anticipate what comes next. And while they are mostly getting remarkably good at it, sometimes they don’t know the correct answer and make stuff up, which we call hallucinating. Always check what it tells you. ALWAYS. Especially if it’s important or you’re going to be repeating it.When you ask a question, known as a prompt, what the LLM is actually doing is rapidly searching this vast database in its memory, and using the patterns its learned, pulls out the most relevant words that it thinks will answer your question. Up until last year, the data wasn’t current. More recently, the LLMs have the ability to search the web in real time. And the LLMs can now also access youtube video transcripts, and interpret photos. This is where the problem happens. You can actually skew search results with something called SEO - search engine optimization. This is something you can pay for and has been around forever. . It’s what pushes certain links to the top when you do, e.g. a google search. Again, simplistically, you can post articles, or submit them to mainstream media (MSM) linking ideas/people etc. So for example, Meghan and her paid PR can flood MSM with “Meghan Markle at Beyoncé concert”. Now although we all know that she was just there in the audience, but if the article gets repeated enough times by other media outlets, when you Google “Meghan Markle”, she will now be associated with Beyoncé. ChatGPT takes that further by creating its response using what it finds most of. So if its search discovers a gazillion articles on how wonderful Meghan is, then that’s what it’s going to tell you back. It’s technically not a bias of the program, or its programmers, but a reflection of the data its found in abundance. You cannot pay to change this apparent bias. The AI programmers don’t decide what information gets included in your answer. However, they do program safeguards into the AI (this is what the huge deal is right now about AI - safety - but thats another issue). So in summary:G=Generative=it’s generating output, based on P=Pretrained=its been fed data to learn with, and T=Transformer=it takes that data and transforms it according to your request.Hope that helps. post link: https://ift.tt/0dsnjLT author: Larushka submitted: June 04, 2024 at 08:44AM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit disclaimer: all views + opinions expressed by the author of this post, as well as any comments and reblogs, are solely the author's own; they do not necessarily reflect the views of the administrator of this Tumblr blog. What is Generative Artificial Intelligence-All in AI tools
Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a type of deep learning model that can generate text, images, computer code, and audiovisual content based on prompts.
Tumblr media
These models are trained on a large amount of raw data, typically of the same type as the data they are designed to generate. They learn to form responses given any input, which are statistically likely to be related to that input. For example, some generative AI models are trained on large amounts of text to respond to written prompts in seemingly creative and original ways.
In essence, generative AI can respond to requests like human artists or writers, but faster. Whether the content they generate can be considered "new" or "original" is debatable, but in many cases, they can rival, or even surpass, some human creative abilities.
Popular generative AI models include ChatGPT for text generation and DALL-E for image generation. Many organizations also develop their own models.
How Does Generative AI Work?
Generative AI is a type of machine learning that relies on mathematical analysis to find relevant concepts, images, or patterns, and then uses this analysis to generate content related to the given prompts.
Generative AI depends on deep learning models, which use a computational architecture called neural networks. Neural networks consist of multiple nodes that pass data between them, similar to how the human brain transmits data through neurons. Neural networks can perform complex and intricate tasks.
To process large blocks of text and context, modern generative AI models use a special type of neural network called a Transformer. They use a self-attention mechanism to detect how elements in a sequence are related.
Training Data
Generative AI models require a large amount of data to perform well. For example, large language models like ChatGPT are trained on millions of documents. This data is stored in vector databases, where data points are stored as vectors, allowing the model to associate and understand the context of words, images, sounds, or any other type of content.
Once a generative AI model reaches a certain level of fine-tuning, it does not need as much data to generate results. For example, a speech-generating AI model may be trained on thousands of hours of speech recordings but may only need a few seconds of sample recordings to realistically mimic someone's voice.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Generative AI
Generative AI models have many potential advantages, including helping content creators brainstorm ideas, providing better chatbots, enhancing research, improving search results, and providing entertainment.
However, generative AI also has its drawbacks, such as illusions and other inaccuracies, data leaks, unintentional plagiarism or misuse of intellectual property, malicious response manipulation, and biases.
What is a Large Language Model (LLM)?
A Large Language Model (LLM) is a type of generative AI model that handles language and can generate text, including human speech and programming languages. Popular LLMs include ChatGPT, Llama, Bard, Copilot, and Bing Chat.
What is an AI Image Generator?
An AI image generator works similarly to LLMs but focuses on generating images instead of text. DALL-E and Midjourney are examples of popular AI image generators.
Does Cloudflare Support Generative AI Development?
Cloudflare allows developers and businesses to build their own generative AI models and provides tools and platform support for this purpose. Its services, Vectorize and Cloudflare Workers AI, help developers generate and store embeddings on the global network and run generative AI tasks on a global GPU network.

ChatGPT vs. Gemini vs. Copilot
Tumblr media
The rise of AI chatbots has been fast, with more options becoming available to users. These bots are becoming a regular part of the software and devices we use every day.
Just like choosing an email provider or music app, you can now pick your favorite AI chatbot too. We’ve tested three of the most popular ones to help you decide which might be right for you.
Aside from these, there are others like Perplexity and Claude, but our focus here is on the biggest names: OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google's Gemini, and Microsoft’s Copilot.
We’ve tested each bot and included three standard challenges for evaluation. We asked for "a fun game idea for a 5-year-old’s birthday party," "a new smartphone app concept," and "instructions for resetting macOS."
In this blog, we're comparing the free versions of these chatbots available at the time of writing.
Which One Is Best for Regular Users? ChatGPT or Gemini or Copilot
 ChatGPT powered by OpenAI
ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, has been a leader in generative AI. It's widely accessible through web browsers on computers and mobile apps for Android and iOS. The platform has made headlines recently with announcements from OpenAI, including updates on their latest models and features.
There's a significant difference between the free and $20-per-month Plus versions of ChatGPT. The Plus version offers extra features like image generation and document scanning. Subscribers can also create their own GPTs with custom prompts and data. OpenAI's CEO, Sam Altman has mentioned that these enhancements are part of their strategy to democratize AI.
ChatGPT Plus provides access to the latest GPT-4 models, whereas the free GPT-3.5 is good for basic AI interactions. It's quick and versatile but lacks web link references like Copilot for fact-checking. The open AI search engine, one of the key initiatives, helps improve the platform's information processing capabilities.
Choosing ChatGPT is ideal for those interested in cutting-edge AI development. However, it's more effective with a paid subscription rather than on a budget. Apple's involvement with OpenAI has also fueled further interest in the platform.
In testing, ChatGPT performed reasonably well. It suggested a themed musical statues game for kids and a health-focused smartphone app named FitTrack.
Gemini powered by Google
Formerly known as Google Bard, Gemini is available as a web app and on Android and iOS. There are free and paid ($20 per month) plans.
Paying for Gemini gets you access to newer, smarter models. The interface resembles ChatGPT, and it integrates well with other Google services.
Gemini is suited for Google product users. It provided sensible responses to our challenges and suggested a neighborhood item-sharing app and a twist on the classic party game.
Copilot powered by Microsoft
Copilot is integrated into many Microsoft products like Bing and Windows. It’s available as a web app and mobile app.
Copilot uses Microsoft’s Bing search engine and often provides web links with citations. It's conversational and offers various text output settings.
The AI behind Copilot is OpenAI’s GPT-4, with different settings for text output: More Creative, More Balanced, and More Precise.
Copilot suggested "What’s the Time, Mr. Wolf?" for the kids' game and a virtual interior design app for smartphones. Its macOS reset instructions were accurate and cited from Apple’s support site.
If you use Microsoft products heavily, Copilot is a natural choice. It excels at referencing web information and providing clear citations.
In conclusion, all three—ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot —can be used for free, allowing you to choose based on your preferences. Copilot offers the most AI features without payment, ChatGPT is highly competent with a subscription, and Gemini is ideal for Google fans.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How Do Chatbots Understand Language Differently Than a Programming Language?
Chatbots and programming languages are different in how they understand language.
Programming languages like Python or Java are structured and strict. They need exact commands and follow clear rules to work. If you make a mistake, the program won't function correctly.
Chatbots, on the other hand, are designed to interpret human language. They use techniques like Natural Language Processing (NLP) to understand words, phrases, and even context. This allows them to grasp the meaning behind what people say, even if the words are not in a set pattern.
A chatbot can recognize synonyms (different words with similar meanings), understand the intent behind a sentence, and learn from the interactions it has with users. This flexibility is what sets chatbots apart from programming languages, which rely on strict instructions to perform tasks.
What Does the Generative AI Ecosystem Refer to?
The term "generative AI ecosystem" refers to a network of technologies, tools, and methodologies that use artificial intelligence (AI) to create or generate content autonomously. This ecosystem encompasses various AI models and algorithms designed to produce new and unique outputs based on learned patterns and data.
In simpler terms, generative AI involves systems that can generate things like text, images, music, or even video without direct human input for each specific output. These systems learn from large datasets and then use that knowledge to create new content that resembles what they've been trained on.
This ecosystem includes a range of technologies such as language models (like GPT), image generators (like DALL-E), and music composers that are able to produce content that is novel and, in many cases, convincingly human-like. The ultimate goal of the generative AI ecosystem is to automate and enhance creative processes across various domains, potentially transforming how we create and interact with digital content.
