Our first real exposure actually beings with the Grand Oak tree in DAO! (Thank you @meganooooooooooooooo for pointing this out!)
Players began to notice a distinct cadence in Solas's speech during interactions in DAI. Notably, when he recounts moments from the Fade, his voice occasionally takes on a rhythm and tone reminiscent of a hymn or chant, evoking the cadence of "Hallelujah," specifically the K.D. Lang cover.
(note: @the-northern-continent does a great breakdown of the Hallelujah cadence vs iambic pentameter in this post. And @liaragaming does a good breakdown of Solas speaking in that cadence in this post.)
This has led The Fade Codex to theorize that this cadence reflects a dialect used by spirits—an ancient, rhythmic way of communication that blends emotion and intent through a deliberate structure. The 6/8 musical framework of the K.D. Lang Hallelujah cover. This framework prioritizes reflective pacing, 1-2-3 / 4-5-6 measures, and allows secondary stresses to create an emotional cadence.
This concept is further explored in Dragon Age: The Veilguard through various encounters with spirits. Below are examples that demonstrate this rhythmic, almost lyrical, pattern in their speech:
The Anxious Spirit (A Spirit of Comfort) - Arlathan Forest
"Trapped. Can't get out. It hurts. It's dark. Please. They didn't know what to do. They didn't want to die."
TRAPPED. CAN'T get OUT. It HURTS. It's DARK. PLEASE. They DIDN'T know what to DO. They DIDN'T want to DIE.
"Stop the thoughts. Stop the fears. Quiet, please. Make it quiet."
STOP the THOUGHTS. STOP the FEARS. QUI-et, PLEASE. MAKE it QUI-et.
Eulogy (Originally a Spirit of Compassion) - Minrathous
"Something larger stirs. Calling the desperate. I cannot see what."
SOME-thing LARG-er STIRS. CALL-ing the DES-per-ATE. I CAN-not SEE what.
"Know the hope you bring Dock Town thwarts it. And may you continue."
KNOW the HOPE you BRING. DOCK TOWN THWARTS it. AND may YOU con-TIN-ue.
"As you found their names, I felt them whisper through the Fade."
As YOU found their NAMES, I FELT them WHIS-per THROUGH the FADE.
"My own name changed. I am now Eulogy."
My OWN name CHANGED. I AM now EU-lo-GY.
Hope Unyielding - Hossberg Wetlands
"Light glimmers the surface. Flowers break through snow. Hope unexpected. I am such."
LIGHT glim-MERS the SUR-face. FLOW-ers BREAK through SNOW. HOPE un-EXPECT-ed. I AM SUCH.
"No. But nor was I forever."
NO. But NOR was I for-EV-er.
Pluck - Hall of Valor
"What foul-hearted spirit tugs at the corners of your lips to turn them down so?"
What FOUL-heart-ed SPIR-it tugs at the COR-ners of your LIPS to TURN them DOWN so?
"Greetings, Mourn Watcher. You are a long ways from Nevarra."
GREET-ings, MOURN Watch-er. YOU are a LONG ways from Ne-VAR-ra.
Emmrich (to Pluck)
"Hail to you, child of Valor. As voice of our lightless shores, I pray your blade may never sunder."
HAIL to YOU, child of VAL-or. As VOICE of our LIGHT-less SHORES, I PRAY your BLADE may NEV-er SUN-der.
Pluck
"You honor me. Few remember the old ways."
You HON-or ME. Few re-MEM-ber the OLD WAYS.
The phrase "the old ways," as used by Pluck, is believed to reference this rhythmic, cadenced speech. It’s a pattern steeped in intent, echoing the emotional resonance of the Fade itself.
Grand Oak - West Brecilian Forest
What manner of beast be thee that comes before this elder tree?
What MAN-ner of BEAST be THEE that COMES be-FORE this EL-der TREE?
Ahhhh, yes, I remember thy kind. So brief of life and all but blind to the peril you cause, the lives you take, such chaos is down within thy wake.
AHHH, yes, I re-MEM-ber THY kind. SO brief of LIFE and ALL but BLIND. To the PER-il you CAUSE, the LIVES you TAKE. Such CHA-os is DOWN with-IN thy WAKE.
This dialect may serve as both a form of communication and an expression of a spirit's essence, allowing them to convey ideas, emotions, and purpose in a way that transcends mere words.
This theory deepens our understanding of how spirits interact with mortals and each other, highlighting the unique and poetic nature of their existence.

[Hanfu · 漢服]Chinese immortal Hanfu <西王母/Queen Mother of the West> Based On Yuan Dynasty Taoist Temple Mural<永乐宫/Yongle Palace>

【Historical Artifacts Reference 】:
▶ China Yuan Dynasty Taoist Temple 永乐宫/Yongle Palace Mural

<西王母/Queen Mother of the West>
The Queen Mother of the West, known by various local names, is a mother goddess in Chinese religion and mythology, also worshipped in neighbouring Asian countries, and attested from ancient times.
The first mentions of the Queen Mother date back to the oracle bone inscriptions of the Shang dynasty (1766 – 1122 BCE). One inscription reads:
Crack-making on day IX (9th day), we divined. If we make offering to the eastern mother and the western mother, there will be approval.
Western Mother refers to an archaic divinity residing in the west. The exact nature of the Mother divinities in the Shang dynasty is unclear, but they were seen as powerful forces deserving of ritual by the people of the Shang dynasty. Originally, from the earliest known depictions of her in accounts like the Classic of Mountains and Seas during the Zhou dynasty, she was a ferocious goddess of death with the teeth of a tiger, who rules over wild beasts and sends down heavenly punishments such as pestilences. She was also mentioned as an authority ruling over other divinities such as Jiutian Xuannü, a goddess of war and sex. Other stories hold that she is a mountain goddess or a divine tigress. She is also popularly thought to have blessed the Eight Immortals with their supernatural abilities.
After her integration into the Taoist pantheon, she gradually took on associations with other aspects, such as immortality, as well.
The Queen Mother of the West is most often depicted holding court within her palace on the mythological Mount Kunlun, usually supposed to be in western China (a modern Mount Kunlun is named after this). Her palace is believed to be a perfect and complete paradise, where it was used as a meeting place for the deities and a cosmic pillar where communications between deities and humans were possible. At her palace she was surrounded by a female retinue of prominent goddesses and spiritual attendants. One of her symbols is the Big Dipper.
Although not definite there are many beliefs that her garden had a special orchard of longevity peaches which would ripen once every three thousand years, others believe though that her court on Mount Kunlun was nearby to the orchard of the Peaches of Immortality. No matter where the peaches were located, the Queen Mother of the West is widely known for serving peaches to her guests, which would then make them immortal. She normally wears a distinctive headdress with the Peaches of Immortality suspended from it.
Flourishing parasols, we reach the chronograms' extremity; Riding on the mist, I wander to Lofty Whirlwind Peak. The Lady of the Supreme Primordial descends through jade interior doors; The Queen Mother opens her Blue-gem Palace. Celestial people—What a Crowd! A lofty meeting inside the Cyan Audience Hall. Arrayed Attendants perform Cloud Songs; Realized intonations fill the Grand Empty Space. Every thousand years, her purple crabapple ripens; Every four kalpas, her numinous melon produces abundantly. This music differs from that at the feast in the wilderness— So convivial, and certainly infinite.— Wu Yun (Complete Tang Poems 1967, line 4942)
One of the earliest written references to the Queen Mother comes from the writings of the Taoist writer Zhuangzi (c. 4th century BCE):
The Queen Mother of the West obtained it [the Dao]... ...and took up her seat at Shao kuang. No one knows her beginning; no one knows her end.
Zhuangzi describes the Queen Mother as one of the highest of the deities, meaning she had gained immortality and celestial powers. Zhuangzi also states that Xiwangmu is seated upon a spiritual western mountain range, suggesting she is connected to not only the heavens, but also to the west.
Legendary encounters
In Tu Kuang-ting's text, he includes narrative accounts of the Queen Mother's encounters with legendary Chinese heroes. One such account narrates an encounter between the Queen Mother and Laozi (Lord Lao):
"In the 25th year of King Chao of the Chou dynasty (1028 BCE) …" "…Lord Lao and the realized person Yin Hsi went traveling…" "…on their behalf, the Queen Mother of the West explicated the Scripture of Constant Purity and Quiet."
In this account, the Queen Mother plays the role of Laozi's superior and is credited with the ultimate authorship of the Dao De Jing. This dichotomy of the Queen Mother as the superior is a characteristic of Shangqing Taoism, a goddess worshiping sect of Taoism of which Tu Kuang-ting was a master. There is also an account of a meeting between the Queen Mother and Laozi in Tang poetry.[18] This account however, being of traditional Taoist thought, has the Queen Mother taking an inferior role to Laozi, calling him "Primordial Lord" (the title of his highest manifestation) and pays homage to the sage.

Songs and BGM from Cdramas. Part 1: Mo Dao Zhu Shi Adaptations
It's not a stretch to say that cdramas have some of the best OST's out there. Therefore, I thought I would share my favorite song (with vocals) and BGM (no vocals) pieces of music from the cdramas I have seen. This will also include donghuas and audio dramas.
For Part 1 of this, I thought I would start with my favorite Live Action cdrama 'The Untamed' and the two other media adaptations of Mo Xiang Tong Xiu's excellent second novel; 'Mo Dao Zu Shi/The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation'
'The Untamed'
Let's start with my favorite cdrama of all time. The Untamed has one of the most beautiful soundtracks out there and I love that each character got their own song (even if they weren't able to include all of them in the actual show). My favorite song from the soundtrack actually goes to Lan Xichen's character song, 'Bu You (Involuntary)' sung beautifully by his actor Liu Haikuan.
youtube
Liu Haikuan has an incredible voice and Lan Xichen is one of my favorite characters in the show. The song encompasses his character's emotions in a stunning way.
As for BGM, I have to give it to 'Cao Mu'. It's a piece of music that plays in two notable scenes;
When Wei Wuxian sees Wen Qing again
When Lan Wangji stands by Wei Wuxian's side on the steps of Koi Tower.
It's a hauntingly beautiful piece of music composed by Hai Lin filled with sadness, longing and even faint optimism that perfectly fits the scenes that it features in.
youtube
'The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation' [Donghua]
An excellent adaptation of MXTX's work that also has a fittingly beautiful score. Here, my favorite song is their rendition of Lan Zhan's love song to Wei Ying 'Wangxian', here titled 'XianYun'. Where the Untamed's version of the song '(Wuji) is beautiful in its own right, a loud heroic celebratory song, XianYun is a song filled with deep longing as Lan Zhan pines for Wei Ying. The lyrics are particularly heartwrenching and of the 3 Wangxian versions we have, this is undoubtedly my favorite.
Although I, of course, love the original version performed on the soundtrack, I'm going to paste this wonderful english cover of the song by Robyn Ardery who masterfully translates the lyrics. The final lines;
'If I gave you my life, answer my inquiry/Won't you spend this lonely night beside me?'
Just perfectly capture the amount of longing from Lan Zhan and the reference to the 'Inquiry' song (that communes with the dead) is an added gut punch when you think about the amount of grief his character experiences.
youtube
As for BGM, I think that Wei Wuxian's character song is excellent. It's a direct contrast to his music theme in 'The Untamed'. It dances between his carefree personality as Wei Ying and the terrifying figure of the Yiling Patriarch.
youtube
'Mo Dao Zhu Shi' - Audio Drama
The one uncensored adaptation of the original novel that is a must listen for fans. Although, of the three adaptations, I think it has the weakest soundtrack - that doesn't matter! Because it's still excellent. I think my favorite song is the Season 3 main theme 'Unfettered/Limitless'. Sung by the two main voice actors, I love a good rock song and the lyrics are beautiful as they travel through the story up until the point the audio drama has gotten to.
Both Wei Ying and Lan Zhan sing about their respective anxieties and regrets and, as a bonus, it comes with an excellent music video.
youtube
For BGM, I have to give it to this piece from the inn scene in Season 3. It's from the inn scene (yes that one) and here is called 'Luz De Luna' or 'Moonlight' which feels pretty appropriate. Though it's possible I mainly like this music because of scene association.
youtube
And that's my list for Mo Dao Zu Shi Adaptations. Music is such an integral part of this story - with Wei Ying's flue, Lan Zhan's guqin and the musical poison that Jin Guangyao uses. So having a good OST is integral.
Every version of the 'Wangxian' song is unique across these three adaptations and all of them sound like they could be the one MXTX was conveying to her readers. I love them all, but I will reiterate that XianYun is my favorite of the three. What these three pieces of media were able to acheive through the various mediums, in order to tell this incredible story, is legendary.
I heartily applaud everyone involved.
If this gets some interest, I'm ready to ramble on about the music in 'Heaven Official's Blessing', 'Fangs of Fortune', 'The Devil Judge' and more because I have a lot to say.

Hobbies: Drawing, Reading, and Researching
Talent is analyzing visual media and literature and languages
Mason is a mature and intelligent person, having a strong sense of curiosity who wishes to conduct much research on unfamiliar topics - cultures, history, the secrets, and many more. Despite this, however, they’re a lot more reserved and shy, awkward on a social level. They’re naive at best, but their heart is good and true.
(TW for Death)
When Mason was 7, they lost their parents - Augustine and Chantana - in a car accident, eventually waking up in a hospital bed with their uncle beside them with tears in his eyes. Since then, they were soon adopted and taken care of by their uncle Theodore Thacker and sometimes their Aunt Anita, Uncle Dao, and cousins Gloria and Adrian when Theodore became very busy with his work. Growing up after the accident, they became rather closed off to their peers, which led them to become homeschooled for the remainder of grade school and middle school up until they entered high school. When they were around 9-13, their aunt and uncles signed up for summer camp as no one in their family wants their child to be holed in a room for ages and to socialize with the kids their age. They didn’t make new friends, until they met Lisbeth Graham at age 10. Mason finds her very pretty and both kids became friends instantly. At age 13, they confessed their feelings to Lisbeth which she reciprocated and started dating. Throughout their independent study, Theodore was amazed by their intellect. Thanks to that, they joined high school early on, also amazing their teachers for their intellect too. Fast forward, Mason (age 17) finally got accepted into a university. There, they ended up rooming with Hayley Li and Wendell Carter, even celebrating their 18th birthday. However, when Mason started moving to their roommates, they got a call from Lisbeth, she announces that she’s breaking up with them - they’re still on good terms today. One day in September after class was over, they missed a bus but saw a black carriage sitting close to the university. They wondered why it was there, but decided to ride it as they don’t want to take the chances of having to wait for another bus (they haven’t gotten their license yet). Little did they know, they were soon transported into another world - a whole new world full of new discoveries for them.
Facts:
•Uncle Theodore is a history fanatic and always rave about history and gave a lot of educational facts that it stuck onto Mason
•Their butterfly earrings were actually a gift from their mom when they got their ears pierced at age 5
•Very interested in different cultures
•Thanks to their uncle, they learned about their Lao culture
•A Nerd and Horror fan
•Fashion sense is inspired by campy horror movies (Ginger Snaps, Lisa Frankenstein, etc.)
•Would hurt a fly but never kill a man
•Very sensitive to loud sounds, anxious too
•Theodore owns a cat named Fluffy, which Mason loves
•Loose identity on gender (Uncle Theo would still support them through and through)
•Finds being in Twisted Wonderland a great opportunity
•Amazing Swimmer
•Clothes that they got (in twst wonderland) are donated to them
•Unique Taste in music
•Necklace is their birthday present from their uncle
•Both Uncle and niece would travel during summer or winter breaks
•When Mason and Lisbeth were around 11, they tried to do witchcraft and the occult - starting with attempting to communicate Mason’s dead parents. They continued with witchcraft until Mason stopped to focus more on their studies, leading to the break up.
•Loves Spam Musubi because it was the first meal they ever made
•Hates carrots due to the texture
•Used to work at Hayley’s parents’ restaurant: The Silver Dragon
•Not only did they lose their parents, they also lost their grandfather in high school
•Sometimes hangs out with their dad’s side of the family when Theodore got very busy with work.

Hello, it's the vibrating insane anon! I will take anything you want to tell about your ocs (because I also love complex trauma and the way people interact) *u*
But I am mad curious if Haki has a specific genre or style he prefers to play on guitar, and if by chance he has a comfort piece of music. I wish I could think of what to ask about Dao because I would also love to know more about him.
I hope you have a fantastic day and no pressure to answer!
!! 🥺🥺 I also like complex trauma 😭😭
Through Haki I would like to talk about hypersexuality 🙏 (I heard it sexual assault awareness month so it is perfect to talk about it!)
In the story, he doesn't know that he is hypersexual and how he reacts toward sex are trauma response 😔 he felt disgusting toward himself, not also understand where this pleasure come from and also truly believe that his intrusive thought is the fruit of his desire (while it is not </3). During his whole life, he denied/hide this side of him even if it rots him to depression, until he met Dao. Dao is someone who is straightforward, and can say rude thing,,, putting Haki in ease and open more. (And also facing his own trauma but... it is super complex!)
For Dao, I wanted to write through him the difficulty to express his own emotion, and also accepting his own sexuality. Dao rejected the fact that he is actracted to men because he believes homosexuality is wrong (his parents, authority and strict figure, are intolerants). He considered himself as a failure because of that. And because his family imply a patriarcal model (boy don't cry, has to be strong and all), it doesn't help a lot : Dao is someone who is oversensitive, but because he lived in a environment where man can't express well (or they say he overreact), he tends to be aggressive when something wrong. And his journey Haki will help him to deconstruct this toxic behaviour, and communicate more with his family
Now about fun fact !!
Haki plays classic and acoustic guitar mostly! He likes to do cover of pop music. He once used folk but it hurts his finger so much that he prefers not to play it kgkdjgke
He enjoys smashing cord with his finger, or changing tone with keys. He is actually good at it 🙏 he can sing ! But he prefers doing a solo guitar
He doesn't have a comfort song but, when likes to play the same 3 chords in loop. It helps to calm his mind
Dao is also into music, but he is more someone who do cover with software and do remix of videogame OST ! He has his own ytb channel where he post his covers. He has online friends, and sometime do the mix of a friend's cover 🤭He has a synido(??? Those keyboard with pad with what you can do beat) 🙂↕️ but nothing professional, he is doing it for fun (and he is good at it).
Oh and Dao has a best friend named Liliane ! Childhood friend from middle school, it is thank to her that Dao is less misogynist and don't want to jump on people neck kdksjgkejgd (and he enjoys manga/videogame thanks to her) (it also thanks to her that he started to accept he has crush on men !! He still in denial but when it happens, he sighs but he felt less bad toward himself)

#reply#oc haki#oc dao#hIHIHIHIHIHIHI#thank you anon... for the opportunity you gave me talking about OC..... 😢😢😢😢

Cn I ask your top favorite fics that you've written (feel free how much that you want to list)? Why they're special to you? Is there a specific inspiration when you wrote them? Thanks....
Hey anon!!! Thanks for the ask!! Favorite fics...I've written. You've given me too much freedom by asking my why I like them I am so sorry for the wall of text about to hit.
To Veer The Tides
It's a fic for Kuroko no Basuke which is basically just me slapping the character names onto a WILDLY different fantasy setting. It's for Akashi x Furihata. An arranged marriage AU where Akashi is the son of an emperor who went too power hungry and wanted to consolidate 7 mostly independent states(provinces??) into one, but he was defeated by the remaining states and to control Akashi, he is arranged to marry far below his station to Furihata, son of a destroyed noble house which is under the rule of Kagami's state. So it's about Akashi climbing back to power with Furihata initially thinking Akashi is pure evil but he soon realizes that maybe Akashi and his family aren't as evil as the people believe.
I ended up doing so much research, world-building and character expansion. It's more political intrigue than romance, lol. I still love that fic to death, I think I honestly peaked there for world-building, at least. I wrote it immediately after reading and watching Mo Dao Zu Shi and being first introduced to the concept of cultivation as a magic system and really wanted to put all my faves in flowy robes and long hair.
I want to get back to it, but I've discontinued it because I am simply not qualified to right about Dissociative Identity Disorder, systems and alters. Akashi has a terribly stereotypical portrayal of it in canon and I thought maybe I could research enough to write that, but I just, I don't know any systems and I felt like if I can't respect it, I didn't want to do it.
But it's still my favorite in terms of the world and aesthetics I had going on for it.
2. Tell Me Your Story (I'll Tell You Mine)
My current baby. The one I incessantly post about and draw for. Single-handedly over saturating the kyoshi warrior sokka x blue spirit zuko market. It's set in the canon world but I had to do so much research for this one too. I learned a lot, I think, while writing this. Big lesson being never ever write in present tense but if you're 200K+ words into it there is simply no going back RIP.
It started as just a silly romance because I thought it'd be funny to have Sokka and Zuko be completely oblivious to who they like. But as I began plotting and writing, it transformed into me projecting all my issues with colonialism and using the ATLA setting as base to dip a little bit deeper into the themes the show itself brings up, and some issues that it doesn't. Like, how colonialism uses your own culture against you, how it makes you fear who you are, makes you do things you don't want.
I deliberately chose that title because lots of indigenous communities in the world have lost their stories because of colonialism. Oral traditions and tales that are forgotten because people were killed and forced to never repeat them, forced to forget their languages. And that, really got to me. How colonialism slowly strips you of what makes human beings what they are; stories, art, music, dance, etc.
So this fic ended up being about how colonialism steals from you, uses what is yours AGAINST you and how it is important to embrace who you are and fight back.
3. Tell The Neighbours I'm Not Sorry
It's for Jon and Jay from DC Comics and Superfam. I wrote it when I was seeing a lot of biphobia against Jon and racism against Jay. As a bi asian, even if it was towards fictional characters, it was getting to me. People kept talking about how there's a specific way to be bi. Why did Jon never have a crisis about being queer? Why did Jon and Jay move so fast? Is Jay manipulating Jon just to get what he wants? It was all filled with a lot of stereotypes and biases.
Superman comics especially often taken up real world issues and puts it into the story. So I took all my anger and frustration from the biphobia and racism and wrote it into a fic.
It's about how there's no one way to being queer, and about how immigrants and non-white people are immediately classified as some kind of 'other' and 'bad' with zero grounding. It's also a little bit about colonialism on Jay's end. It's so charged with me going "FUCK IT!" and still somehow came out okay as a fic and I think I like that I managed to turn my anger into something productive.
Bonus
4. An Itajun fic I have not published and am still writing
It's my first JJK fic! It's an absolute mess in my drafts right now but I really like it, it's very fun for me. Junpei starts seeing and sensing curses far earlier because of built resentment from his bullies going too far and severely injuring him, his mom finds out and they move to Yuuji's area of Tokyo to get away from the school since they won't do anything about the bullying. Yuuji and Junpei run into each other and meet early at school. So the dynamics are kinda reversed, where Junpei is the one who is into the world of curses first while Yuuji has no clue, but they slowly interact and come together, forming a tight bond.
Junpei trusts no one and is dealing with all this curse nonsense trying to understand what it means. Yuuji is seemingly happy and chipper but he's going through tough times because his grandpa got hospitalized. It's both of them supporting each other and making sure the other isn't alone.

JANUARY 12TH, 2024 - Originally posted on UNDRGRND
Note: If you can translate this into your native language, please QT this and paste the translation. Art may transcend language barriers but all I have are my words. Thank you in advance for sharing this.
Before it gets too loud in here again, before the masses return, before the hype cycle of cliches and empty sentiments begin to take over the hive mind of web3, I’d like to tell you my idea.
Next week I will launch the $GRND token, a coin to power influence within the UNDRGRND ecosystem.
The initial distribution of the token will be…different.
I want the token given to the right people. Those who supported my dream. Those I support. Those who trusted me. Those I trust. Those who know me. Those who don’t. Those who want to succeed and see others like them.
The genuine community many of us came here seeking, that’s who should hold this power.
So, to ensure that, next Friday (January 19th) I will take the UNDRGRND Twitter and Discord private. I will share the vision of UNDRGRND and the DAO with everyone who joins or follows. Then in February, we’ll open it back up to the public.
So if you’re an artist, musician, filmmaker, collector, crypto-enthusiast: make sure you’re in the know.
This is what it’s like to be early to something; before the influencers, whales, and “investors”.
So if you know me, if you trust me, or someone you know vouched for me…
If you think things could be better…
If you like discussing movies, music, books, art…
If you like to write…
If you like to create…
If you like to build…
If you’re tired of shill threads…
If you’re tired of promo DMs…
If you’re tired of influencers…
If you have a small following…
If you feel unseen…
If you have a large following and want to see others succeed…
If you know someone who should be involved…
If you know someone who may benefit from this…
If you think there is strength in numbers…
If you’re hopeful…
If you’re frustrated…
If you believe in others…
If you trust first…
If you feel deeply…
If you think this should be easier…
If you enjoy genuine connection…
If we’ve spoken once…
If we’ve lost touch…
If I’ve piqued your interest…
If you’re skeptical…
If you think I may be full of sh*t…
I’d like to share my idea with you.
If you’ve been called a punk, hipster, nerd, stoner, geek, freak, loser, delinquent, thug, hooligan, failure, different, weird, outsider, free-spirit, artsy, loner, or degraded any way, you are UNDRGRND.
Tag your friends. Share it with enemies. Invite them in. There’s enough for us all.

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Spread the self-love!
Babbit babbling ahead!
The story that pulled me into writing fanfic was Scum Villain Self-Saving System. I won't say my first or second fic is my favorite, though; both have flaws that I'm not ashamed of but mean they're not up to snuff. Since then I've written for Scum Villain, Modao Zushi and Heaven Official's Blessing, as well as for Dao Mo Biji (AKA the Graverobber's chronicles)
1) What Is Not Said
The Scum Villain universe is changed by the simple matter of Liu Qingge rescuing Shen Jiu from the Qing before Shen Jiu is driven to homicide. This results in Shen Jiu getting the training he needed when he needed it and shifts the course events away from ever needing a Shen Yuan to fix things. (I may, one day, address what happens with Shen Yuan, but not any time soon.)
The title comes from the line, "Communication is the understanding of what is not said." Since lack of communication is the primary cause of death in Moxiang Tongshu's works, this fic is all about properly communicating.
2) Different Paths to the Same Route
In a world where Nie Mingjue kills (sort of) his 3rd sworn brother, he and Lan Xichen work together to save Jin Guangyao's spirit and - when he's mostly restored to them - to prevent Jin Guangshan's plans for the cultivational world from wreaking havoc. Just this once, almost everybody lives.
The title is based on a Modao Zushi music video called Different Paths, in part because despite the changes, certain fixed events are fixed and still sort of happen.
3) Moxiang Tongxiu Crack and Drabbles
As the title says, this is a huge compilation of short fics based on various of Moxiang Tongxiu's works. Some are silly little fics, some a bit more serious. Not really drabbles, perhaps, but so it goes.
Some of the fics form the basis for other fics but those aren't finished and (I'm sorry) may never be because they're sitting there laughing at me.
4) The Wang Who Came In From The Cold
I've been pretty focused on Daomo Biji lately, so most of my more recent fics come from there. This one posits that Wang Can from Sand Sea (1) survives, (2) is Liu Sang's 'twin', and (3) what would happen if he showed up at Wushanjiu after rescuing Xiaomai from thugs.
It has a follow up, wherein Yan Sanxing is their parent and is rescued from durance very cold and vile and the truth about their family is revealed.
5) Alias Yue and Huo
Another Daomo Biji fic, yet another focused on Wang Can. (I love Liu Sang but Wang Can is so FUN to write!) Here Wang Can falters in his escape from Wang Pangzi, Xiuxiu and the Blue Robed Master, and ends up revealing his Zhang kinship and joining Wang Pangzi on a trip to Changbai. Liu Sang makes an appearance later, but the focus is on the buddy trip.
Could be a ship fic if one wants it to be, it's certainly implied later, but the primary goal is understanding.
Title comes from Wang Pangzi and Wang Can's given names. Pangzi's actual name is Yue Ban, whose characters together become Pang, or fat. Can is made up of the characters for fire and mountain, so they used the aliases Yue and Huo on their trip.
----
It was hard to choose which fics to highlight here. My preferences change depending on my mood.
And now the tagging... @pearlpugly, @littlesmartart, @foxofninetales, @sharkbeneaththelotus, @merinnan

Reasons to vote for each of them below:
...I mean, it is one of the most well known love at first sight stories in the west. Personally my favorite is the Leo and Claire version; "Romeo + Juliet" cuz of the fish tank and the music. They meet at a party, fall in love, sneak some privacy, get married, fall to family hate, get banished, fake a death, commit suicide, commit suicide, all in like three days. Say what you will about why they fall in love, but they do and it was an instant connection. (i say one analysis post about the language devices Shakespeare used help emphasize their connection and feelings)
-- anon, on Romeo/Juliet
it took like around 20 years or so (granted 13 of those wwx was dead) and lan wangji loved him since the beginning!!!! he's just so bad at communicating!!!!! they are so insane about eachother and they didn't even realize it (cringe)

The Rise of Crypto Token Development: Unlocking Digital Value
In the past decade, digital transformation has reshaped how we view finance, ownership, and trust. Among the revolutionary concepts that emerged, crypto token development has stood out as a key enabler of decentralization. From powering decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms to enabling unique digital assets like NFTs, tokens have become the lifeblood of blockchain ecosystems.

But what exactly is crypto token development? Why is it becoming essential for startups, enterprises, and even traditional institutions? Let’s dive deeper.
Understanding Crypto Tokens
A crypto token is a digital unit of value created on an existing blockchain. Unlike cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Litecoin, which are standalone assets on their own blockchains, tokens rely on pre-existing chains like Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, or Solana.
Tokens can represent a wide array of digital or physical assets — currency, shares, voting rights, real estate ownership, in-game assets, and more. They're created using smart contracts and can be programmed with various rules and functionalities.
The rise of tokens is closely tied to the emergence of smart contract platforms, especially Ethereum, which introduced the widely adopted ERC-20 standard. Since then, several standards and networks have entered the space, opening the floodgates for innovation.
Why Businesses Are Investing in Token Development
Today, tokenization is more than just a buzzword. It’s a business model. Here's why companies are actively exploring and investing in token development:
1. New Funding Models (ICO, STO, IDO)
Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) and Security Token Offerings (STOs) have revolutionized fundraising. Rather than going through complex venture capital rounds, startups can issue tokens and raise capital globally.
ICOs allowed early-stage projects to raise millions in mere hours — though they came with their share of challenges. STOs emerged to offer regulatory-compliant fundraising mechanisms, blending traditional securities with blockchain’s efficiency. Later, IDOs (Initial DEX Offerings) added decentralized liquidity and community governance.
2. Ownership and Access Control
Tokens can represent shares in a company, membership in a community, or access to premium content. Instead of issuing paper certificates or traditional credentials, businesses can distribute tokens that live on-chain, are transparent, and can be verified in real time.
This is particularly effective in gaming, real estate, and content creation sectors, where ownership verification is critical.
3. Reward Systems and Loyalty Programs
Tokens are being used in modern loyalty programs. Unlike points systems that lock users into one brand, crypto tokens can be traded or used across platforms, providing real value and flexibility to consumers.
Imagine a music app rewarding listeners with tokens that can be used to access exclusive content or transferred to another platform. That’s the kind of experience today’s users demand — seamless, interoperable, and rewarding.
4. Community Engagement and Governance
Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) are powered by tokens that give holders voting rights. This new form of organizational governance enables communities to steer project direction, fund allocation, and strategic decisions — all through transparent, on-chain voting.
For projects built around community involvement, governance tokens offer a powerful tool for building trust and loyalty.
Key Stages in Crypto Token Development
Creating a crypto token isn't just about writing a smart contract. It involves multiple stages, each demanding precision and foresight. Here's a breakdown:
1. Use-Case Identification
Before a single line of code is written, it's essential to define the purpose of the token. Is it a utility token? A governance token? A security token? Each has different implications for development, compliance, and distribution.
2. Selecting the Blockchain
Ethereum is the default choice for many, but networks like Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, and Solana also offer fast, cost-effective token solutions. The choice depends on the use case, scalability needs, and community preferences.
3. Smart Contract Creation
Smart contracts define the rules of your token — its supply, transferability, access controls, and more. For ERC-20 or BEP-20 tokens, developers often use audited templates, tweaking them for unique needs. For more complex tokens, custom contracts are necessary.
4. Token Deployment and Minting
Once the contract is ready, it's deployed on the blockchain. Some tokens are minted upfront (fixed supply), while others are minted over time or based on events (dynamic supply).
5. Wallet and Platform Integration
Tokens must be compatible with wallets like MetaMask, Trust Wallet, or Ledger. Integration with exchanges or DeFi platforms may also be needed if you plan to list or utilize your token within larger ecosystems.
6. Audit and Security
This stage is critical. Even a tiny vulnerability in the smart contract can be exploited. Reputable third-party auditors examine the contract for flaws, recommend fixes, and often publish public reports to build trust with users and investors.
7. Compliance and Legal Review
Regulatory clarity is still evolving in many regions. Working with legal experts to ensure your token doesn't violate securities laws or AML/KYC requirements is vital — especially if you're targeting a global audience.
Popular Types of Crypto Tokens
To understand the diverse applications of token development, let’s take a look at some common token types:
Utility Tokens: Used to access a product or service. Think of them as digital keys. Example: Filecoin, which grants access to decentralized storage.
Security Tokens: Represent ownership of a real-world asset like equity, bonds, or real estate. They're subject to securities regulations.
Governance Tokens: Allow holders to vote on platform decisions, commonly used in DAOs and DeFi projects.
NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens): Unique tokens that represent ownership of one-of-a-kind items like artwork, game assets, or collectibles.
Stablecoins: Pegged to fiat currencies (like USD or EUR) to provide price stability. Example: USDC or DAI.
Each of these serves a different function, and the development process adjusts accordingly.
Challenges in Token Development
While the possibilities are endless, token development isn't without its challenges:
Regulatory Uncertainty: Global laws around tokens vary and shift rapidly. Navigating compliance is a constant effort.
Security Risks: Hacks, rug pulls, and scams have given the industry a bad reputation. Proper auditing, transparency, and user education are critical.
Scalability: As usage grows, some blockchains struggle with congestion and high fees. This affects user experience and adoption.
Market Saturation: Thousands of tokens exist, many with little utility. Standing out requires a strong use case and genuine community value.
The Future of Tokenization
As token standards improve and regulatory clarity increases, we’ll likely see token development extend into traditional sectors. Real estate, healthcare, supply chain, and even education are ripe for disruption.
Imagine a world where your university degree is a verified NFT, your car ownership lives on the blockchain, and your dividends are automatically distributed via smart contracts. That’s not sci-fi — it’s on the horizon.
Crypto tokens are becoming the connective tissue of the digital economy. As more value flows into tokenized systems, those who understand and leverage token development will be at the forefront of the next internet revolution.
Final Thoughts
Crypto token development is more than just coding — it’s the process of building the infrastructure for a new kind of internet. One where ownership is digital, trust is algorithmic, and participation is global.
For businesses, developers, and creators, the opportunity is massive. But success demands more than hype. It requires clear vision, sound technology, legal awareness, and, above all, value-driven innovation.
Whether you’re launching the next DeFi protocol or creating a gamified ecosystem, remember: tokens are tools. Use them wisely, and they can unlock a world of possibilities.
