#Do My Oracle Homework Assignment

I’m sorry, but my type-a ass cannot be against the Rat Grinders. They’re essentially the kids that couldn’t get the special treatment from teachers and get by on stumbling through tests and happening to get an A without studying. The Rat Grinders feel less like people who cheated the system, and more like the kids who aren’t naturally gifted or lucky, and have to spends hours on end studying, doing extra homework and extra credit, losing their social lives and free time to catch up with the kids who can just breeze through it. Fig never went to a single class or did any homework but gets away with it because the coach, lunch lad, and vice principal are her dads, Kristin and Riz did literally the worst thing their respective class can do, Gorgug actively works to avoid using the main feature of his class whenever possible, Adaine became the Oracle through seemingly happenstance, and Fabian’s rich family bought his way into the extra curricular he’s now the captain of, and all of them skipped half of freshman year! Obviously we, the audience, know that they worked their asses off to get through school each year and to get where the are today. We know they earned every little good thing they have! Fig has worked so hard to become the rockstar she is! Kristin literally brought back a god! Riz in a supergenius detective! Gorgug is an incredible barbarian and artificer! Adaine works so hard to help all of her friends survive a toxic system! Fabian slaved away to earn his achievements himself instead of letting his father’s legacy be his identity! But think of it from an outside perspective, without all the knowledge that only the audience has! These random kids stumbled into three adventures that let them skip grinding for XP, got to miss half a year with no consequence, get special privileges and quests because they are related to or friends with the faculty, never do their assignments or go to class, became popular because of their privileges, and now randomly start spouting micro aggressions towards halflings? If I was one of the Rat Grinders, I’d be pissed off too! I’ve been both the gifted kid, seemingly effortlessly breezing through classes and befriending the entire faculty while secretly going through terrible struggle and stress, and the kid desperately trying to game my way through a system built to harm me while being furious at those who seem to thrive in it, and I can’t help but feel empathy for both. I don’t think the Rat Grinders are evil, cheating monsters who plan to destroy the Bad Kids out of spite. I think they’re just kids in a harmful toxic school system that have a lot of righteous anger at their lot in life, that has sadly been misdirected. Idk if this ramble made sense, sorry for the wall of text!
Edit:Introducing Ivy Embra, the first Rat Grinder to actually be antagonistic to anyone in any way! Also introducing Oisin Hakivar, a super nice guy who’s willing to take advantage of his generational wealth in order to help a fellow student! So the first Rat Grinder to actively be nice to someone too! He likely did something with the ice mephits, but he still seemed genuinely sympathetic and helpful to Adaine!

Get to know me game
Tagged by @luxuriousmalfoy which btw omg thank u hi
rules: tag 9 people you want to get to know better
last song: Ok so I literally can't remember but one thing about me is I constantly have one of the playlists I made for my fic This Must Be the Place playing so PROBABLY one of those but I also have been playing Calypso by Ash Tuesday on repeat as of late.
last show: Last show I watched was most likely Gilmore Girls just because it's a comfort watch that I always go back to but the last new show was most likely The Last of Us which is a great watch and I highly recommend it.
currently watching: I did in fact just answer that one with the question before oops but it's fine.
currently reading: Oh my God ok so I've been reading Crimson Rivers and OBSESSING over it but also I've been taking a break because it's literally too much sometimes. The book I'm reading during the break though is Aristotle and Dante Dive into the Waters of the World which is good but not nearly as good as the first one but its FINE.
current obsession: My current obsession would probably be saying im going to write and then doing literally anything else. I've gotten really good at it these past couple of weeks I will NOT lie to you.
I'm gonna tag some people but only do it if you want no pressure! Sometimes I get tagged in things and forget about them and feel SO guilty so I know how it is.
@lilyevansapologist @moonyhrt @kalpaca @drunk-oracle @thebibutterflyao3 @betteramonster
That isn't nine but also it's fine I just realized I'm procrastinating a homework assignment due tomorrow morning so for now that'll do

The new documentary, Hollywood Con Queen, out May 8 on Apple, details a scam in which a man is believed to have impersonated various female and male Hollywood executives and lured freelancers in the entertainment industry with fake projects and phone sex for more than a decade from 2010-2020.
Hollywood Con Queen reveals how Hargobind Tahilramani caused at least 500 victims to lose about $2 million, including makeup artists, chefs, martial artists, stunt actors, and former military folks doing private security for high net-worth individuals.
The docu-series is based on reporting by Scott Johnson, whose articles for The Hollywood Reporter since 2018 raised public awareness of the scam and prompted hundreds of victims to come forward.
The show is also based on his 2023 book The Con Queen of Hollywood: The Hunt for an Evil Genius.
The Hollywood Con Queen filmmakers had a wealth of evidence to work with: interviews with victims, email exchanges that the victims saved with fake producers, and calls with the scammer that victims started recording when they realized things were getting suspicious.
Nicoletta Kotsianas, a corporate investigator initially hired by Hollywood executive and former Sony Pictures head Amy Pascal, who was one of the people impersonated by Tahilramani, said tracking email domains was like a game of whack-a-mole; every time she got one shut down, a new one would come up.
On top of that, the scammer went by different names to different people.
Kotsianas spent six months looking through what people called him in social media comments and comparing those to Indonesian name constructs before she figured out that the impersonator must be Hargobind Tahilramani.
In the documentary, he’s mostly known as Harvey, his childhood nickname.
How the "Hollywood Con Queen" operated
One reason so many people fell for the scam for so long is that for freelancer workers, it is relatively normal to get called out of the blue with an opportunity.
And the people who were thought to be behind the phone calls, but were actually being impersonated, were all easy to search on Google.
In 2017, filmmaker Will Strathmann got an email from someone he thought was Pascal, asking him to go to Indonesia to find characters for a storyboard for a pilot they could pitch to Netflix.
Because it’s common in the freelance industry to get reimbursed later, he didn’t think twice about footing the bill for interpreters and travel costs.
The person Strathmann thought was Pascal could never meet him in person — despite always calling him at 2 a.m. to talk business.
Featured in the documentary are recordings of some of the most erratic calls.
But he started to get suspicious when he kept being asked to go to Indonesia and Bali, draining his savings. Overall, he says, he lost $54,452.
Some of the victims fell for the scam during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns.
With productions stalled, the prospect of something in the works gave freelancers hope.
An actor who goes by the pseudonym John Taylor in the doc said he thought he was paying for martial arts posture exercise classes and so that he could appear in a film directed by Doug Liman, who does a lot of action films.
He received text messages with a list of movies to watch and assignments to write character analysis essays on each one.
“I was bored and this was such a weird exciting thing going on in my life,” as he describes what it was like to do the homework. “This served as a really welcome distraction.”
But the most disturbing part of the scam is the phone sex.
One night, Taylor got a call at midnight from someone claiming to be Barbara Ellison, ex-wife of Oracle magnate Larry Ellison.
She was supposed to have property with a gym where he could train and wanted to get to know him.
Taylor was asked to pretend like he was licking her and then listen as the person had an orgasm over the phone.
In what he thought was a Skype networking meeting with Donna Langley, head of Universal Pictures, the fake executive asked him to kiss the camera, take his clothes off and touch himself (which he did not do).
Confronting the "Con Queen"
It is rare to watch a true-crime documentary in which the perpetrator is interviewed, so the most surprising part of Hollywood Con Queen is the conversations that Johnson recorded for his book with Harvey — a window in which his identity was exposed but before his arrest in 2020.
Johnson even had someone film him confronting Harvey in Manchester, after pretending that he was in London on social media.
Instead of avoiding Johnson, Harvey welcomed Zoom interviews and regularly called him.
“Imagine if something great happened to me after this,” Harvey told Johnson at one point.
In one particularly telling exchange, he rattles off his favorite movie characters, like Ursula, the villain in The Little Mermaid, Meryl Streep and all of her different accents in Sophie’s Choice, and Glenn Close who plays a con woman in Dangerous Liaisons.
“There’s so much you can do as an actor, eh?” he told Johnson.
It’s clear that Harvey always wanted to be famous, always wanted to be a Hollywood writer or director, so these fake movie projects were his way of trying to make that dream come alive.
Johnson tells TIME it’s still an open question what exactly led him to scam so many people, but says one theory is that it’s grounded in “resentment for his own failed attempts to to become a person of significance in Hollywood himself in an earlier point in his life.”
Harvey’s fate is still to be determined. Since he was arrested in November 2020, he remains in the U.K.
On 6 June 2023, a British judge ruled that he be extradited to the U.S. where he could be put on trial for his crimes, so he’s currently fighting extradition.
It’s believed that Harvey is the only person impersonating the Hollywood executives in this case; no other actors have been associated with these schemes.
To avoid falling for such schemes, Kotsianas points out that people should be suspicious if they receive constant phone calls, especially about urgent tasks.
It’s important to pay attention to email domains and be able to call a person back instead of always having to be called by a person.
“The Hollywood Con Queen scam is a very extreme version of what is happening every single day across the internet for millions and millions of people in these scams,” as she puts it. “This could happen to anyone.”

Tumblr media Tumblr media
this has been both the best day and worst day of my time spent in this fandom 😭
Image descriptions under cut
The first image is of Barbara Gordon in her wheelchair as Oracle. She’s turning off the television and sipping a steaming mug of coffee. She wears a yellow muted sweater and brown pants, her glasses and some papers in her lap. Old 90s computers surround her, her desk wraps around the room. A phone wrings, and the tv says “All that matters is the green!”
The second image is of Dinah driving a car which is yellow on the outside and golden to brown on the inside. She drives in the right side seat. Her curly blond hair waves in the wind, she has a pixie cut, and she’s wearing little circular sunglasses that are reflective. She’s wearing her Black Canary costume which is midnight blue bodysuit that ends at her crotch, and has yellow patches near her arms (like a rectangular stripe). She holds one hand on the wheel.
Third and fourth images are AO3 search results for the Barbara Gordon/Dinah Lance and Tim Drake/Kon-El tags. DinahBabs has 183 and TimKon has 3667.

some rec that no one asked for
Buried Like Treasure by QuickedWeen
Words: 8k
Prince Harry Styles is very private. He chooses to keep himself out of the public eye but feels lonely and isolated while surrounded by people in his hectic royal life. When he finishes his dissertation, he decides to take a solo holiday to one of the royal family's properties in the Swiss Alps.
Semi-retired thief Louis Tomlinson has been pulled in for one last job: steal a painting from an uninhabited mansion. Neither one of them expects a natural disaster.
Works like a charm by falsegoodnight
Words: 18k
Ever since Louis joined the team in fifth year, a few facts have become set in stone.
One: Louis is the best chaser in Hogwarts.
Two: Harry is the best beater in Hogwarts.
Three: They do not get along.
So it’s really unfair of Liam to think that forcing them to spend time together as Louis recovers from his injury will make them the best of friends. The last thing Louis would do is get along with that git.
The devil’s in the details by raspberryoats
Words: 25k
He squeals when Harry smacks his bum as he bends over to pick up his bag, swinging it over his shoulder. Harry smiles smugly at him, bottom lip caught between his teeth. “When are you going to start calling me professor?” He asks.
“When you actually are one,” Louis says with his hand on the doorknob. He cocks his head to the side in curiosity. “Isn’t that how words work? You did study English, right?”
Louis’ quick to slip out the door before Harry can smack him again, his laugh echoing through the hallways as he makes his way to his next class with flushed cheeks and a bright smile.
or the one where harry’s on his way to becoming a professor and louis is the smart, bratty student
At your fingertips by falsegoodnight
Words: 27k
He finds himself wrapped up in sheets in bed on Thursday night, staring at the familiar name on a new story that was posted the night before.
His fingers twitch, ready to hit play and surrender to his impulses, saving the regret and turmoil for later.
And still he hesitates, internally praying that he’ll somehow gain the strength to exit out within the next few moments before he inevitably loses his patience and hits the button.
Three…
Two…
One.
Play.
-
Or, Louis really should have seen it coming.
Sweet like honey by falsegoodnight
Words: 33k
Weeks of flat shopping with their limited budget with Louis as a librarian aid and Harry as a barista and arguments about whether a balcony or extended bathroom suite were more important (Harry wanted to be able to feel the crisp night’s air and watch the sun set and Louis just wanted to take long bubble baths) led to them stumbling across the perfect fit. A small flat only ten minutes from campus with a cramped but lovely balcony and an included bath.
It’s affordable too… well, sort of. But they always manage. Louis picks up more shifts as an aid, adapting a habit of bringing his Psych textbooks and homework with him to finish in between duties, and later his script so he can quietly practice lines with little distraction.
Harry also increases his number of shifts at the cafe and valiantly endures the nasty customers who for some reason flock to their establishment like moths to a flame.
For a while, it’s enough.
-
Or, Harry and Louis need money and they find an unconventional solution in the form of PornHub. It’s not supposed to be a big deal.
Haven by xxPayne
Words: 35k
“I take it you’re not a new student?” “What?” Harry mumbles, caught up in the way his eyes are quite literally sparkling in the light. “Oh—No. Not a student.” “Are you a sub?” Louis asks. Harry clenches his hands into fists, holding them behind his back as he stumbles a bit. “I don’t, uh—I mean. I’ve never really gotten a chance to be a true sub, you know? My ex-partners were always scared they’d hurt me. But, like—If I trusted someone a lot, and if we used a, a safeword. And talked about, you know, boundaries, then—Yes, yeah, I-I’m a sub.” Louis’ eyes are so wide, his cheeks puffing out in the effort to not burst into laughter. “Oh shit, oh my god,” Harry whispers. “You meant—Oh god.
Reduce Me To A Pleading Cry (Break The Skin and Tantalize) by taggiecb
Words: 37k
Or Harry is a broody submissive boss, Louis is a natural dom who works in the mail room at Styles & Styles, Niall is a matchmaking oracle, and a slender, dark haired man stands mute at the coffee stand encouraging others to spill their secrets.
The Pirate and The Piper by jacaranda_bloom
Words: 38k
Banished from Neverland by Captain Hook and the evil Siren Minerva, Louis is forced to live in the Other World. He makes a life for himself, resigned to the fact he’s never going to see his beloved home and Lost Boys again. Five years later he’s kidnapped and returned to Neverland, only to discover a far worse fate awaits him. But with an unlikely ally by his side, can he overcome those who seek his demise and restore freedom to his homeland?
Or the one where Harry is Hook, Louis is Pan, and nothing is what it seems.
Before we knew by falsegoodnight
Words: 39k
“C’mon Lou,” says Zayn after a moment, He sounds even more exasperated than before. Louis sort of has a knack for exasperating people, especially people like Zayn who aren’t usually bothered by his brattiness. “Can’t you give this guy a chance? Harry Styles? Aren’t you curious about him at all?”
Despite his best efforts, Louis still flinches at the name. He really shouldn’t be so affected after all these years. He’s seen the name printed down the curve of his waist in obnoxiously and uncommonly large loopy letters every single day since his sixteenth birthday eight years ago. He’s very familiar with the name Harry Styles.
It sounds pretentious and Louis hates it.
He hates everything about his supposed soulmate.
He hates his large handwriting that stands out like a claim on his skin whenever he’s walking around shirtless. He hates his pretentious name. And now he hates his supposed curls and green eyes and dimples.
-
Or Louis has been skeptical of soulmates for years so it seems like fate when he finally bumps into the owner of the obnoxiously large signature printed onto his skin since age sixteen: Harry Styles, a human rights attorney who is firmly against soulmates.
Bruise you like a peach by falsegoodnight
Words: 40k
There’s two reasons Harry despises Econ.
The first is that it’s boring as fuck. The second reason is a bit more personal, a bit more focused in a way. As in it’s focused on one specific thing, or in his case, person.
His name is Louis Tomlinson.
Things have gotten closer to the sun by starsea
Words: 49k
it’s strange, making the choice to face his past—it almost feels like he’s heading for the sun straight on, like he’s screaming come on and burn me, i deserve it.
-
when a solar flare is announced to end the world in twelve days, harry reunites with the people that he used to know better than the back of his own hand.
Just a flicker in the dark by falsegoodnight
Words: 57k
Harry Styles is his case partner. High and mighty, annoyingly smug Harry Styles who’s known him for years and has fucking seen him naked for fuck’s sake.
He glances at Venus who’s blinking up at him with curious eyes, no doubt sensing the agitation sparking in his magic.
“This is not happening,” Louis says loudly. “This is not fucking happening. I am going to kill Liam, oh my god.” He doesn’t even know if Liam is responsible for this but it feels like something he’d do to drive Louis absolutely insane - exes don’t just show up to your assigned haunted house out of nowhere. “Fucking fuck!”
He nearly jumps when Harry knocks again, his muffled voice carrying through the wood. “I can hear you, you know,” he drawls, sounding frustratingly amused.
Louis exhales, resisting the urge to scream.
-
Or, Louis is a struggling witch desperate to prove himself after yet another magic disaster and finds a calling in the haunted house of client Niall Horan. Things get more complicated when he’s assigned a case partner: acclaimed medium and ex-boyfriend, Harry Styles.
Like cabbages and kings by you_explode
Words: 60k
When Louis was a kid, he had a series of very vivid dreams about a place called Wonderland. There were rabbits wearing waistcoats and talking cats and ridiculous tea parties, and amidst all the absurdity, there was a boy. A boy with dimples, big green eyes and the sweetest soul Louis has ever known. Louis has always kept a place in his heart for that boy and for his funny dreamworld, and when he’s twenty-five and his life falls apart, it turns out Wonderland might not be so imaginary after all.

When You’re Gone Chapter 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Gabriella's POV]
I never expected to have my childhood best friend be my Criminology Professor. It seems kind of weird but whatever. I don't exactly remember my childhood and early teen memories thanks to the car accident that nearly took my life in the year before my last at high school. I decided to go to college to earn my bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice at 30 and I was on my last year at age 34. That day I was determined to be early. When I was a child, according to my best friend Spencer Reid, he usually described me as a chicken with its head cut off due to my spacing out. He never meant it to be cruel, just a matter of fact. Criminology was my second class of the day, after English. Professor Clarke was supposed to be teaching it and nobody took it seriously... at least those who weren't studying Criminal Law like I was. However, when I walked into the classroom...I didn't see the middle-aged woman I knew to be Professor Clarke. Standing at the whiteboard was a tall, skinny man, with shoulder length messy brown hair wearing black slacks with a purple vest, lilac dress shirt and white tie. His converse shoes made him look younger than he was. Somehow, he seemed familiar. There were a few girls already present in the room. I took my seat next to a girl in blue named Ruby Darley. We introduced ourselves and Ruby whispered, "What do you want to bet that most of these girls are not studying Criminal Law?" "Hm, let me get back to you on that." I whispered back. "Wait, why do you ask?" I asked. "Wait until the professor turns around." Ruby said with a grin. I raised my eyebrow at her. By this time the classroom was full. The professor turned around and looked at all of us. He had large hazel eyes which looked brown, honey brown to be exact and looked like he should be a model, rather than a college professor. "Good morning, I am Dr. Spencer Reid and welcome to Criminology. Professor Clarke needed to step away, so I am covering for her this semester." He started handing out our copies of the class syllabus as he continued talking. His name tickled my memory but I'd had an accident in my junior year of high school that I almost died from so my childhood memories and early teen years were pretty fuzzy. When he got to me, he handed me the syllabus but his eyes narrowed. I raised my eyebrow at him, hoping I wasn't being rude. Apparently, I didn't have what he was looking for, because he continued to hand out syllabuses. "What was that about?" Ruby whispered to me. I shrugged as Doctor Reid went back to the front of the class. He took attendance and his voice was a little strange when he called out my name. "Present," I say as I doodle on my writing notebook. Dr. Reid thoughtfully nodded and wrote something down on his piece of paper. --- [Spencer's POV] After class, I wanted to call Gabby up and see why she didn't recognize me. But she slipped out before I had the chance. So I found myself contacting Garcia to do a search for the girl I loved. "You've reached the all-knowing BAU Oracle." Garcia said. "Hi Garcia do you have a moment?" I asked. I heard Garcia snort. "For you, 187, I have all the time in the world." Garcia joked. "What do you need Doc?" I take a deep breath. I hope that wherever she is, she's happy. "I need you to look up someone for me. Her name is Gabriella Chambers, born May 19th 1984." I heard Garcia's fingers type rapidly. "It says here that she's living in Washington D.C. right now and attending the university that you're teaching at, Boy Wonder." Garcia reported. "Her grades are impeccable. I'm not going to lie, I'm impressed,187." Garcia's voice sounded impressed with Gabby's grades. I was impressed myself since she had always struggled with Math during childhood. I nodded. Then, realizing she can’t see me: "Could you dig into her medical records? She should have recognized me today." I asked. Garcia made a noise of assent and typed even more. I was about to hang up when she said, "Oh my God. She was involved in a car accident her junior year of high school and nearly died. As a result, she has extreme retrograde amnesia and the doctors don't expect her childhood and early teen memories to return." I felt a rock fall to the pit of my stomach. So all the memories I shared with her were just gone, like they never happened? What about that pact we made when she was 7 and I was 10, if we were both over 30 and unwed that we'd marry each other? Did she truly not remember our first kiss when I was 16? "You're in love with her." Garcia cut into my reverie. "I'm sorry 187. I didn't think... well if you can't get her memories to return, there's always a blank slate you can start with." Tears fell down my face. I did not want to start afresh with her. Yet I may have to. I start putting away my things in order to get ready to leave when the door opened and Gabby walked in. She approached me cautiously, testing the waters. "I'm sorry, Dr. Reid, but you seem awfully familiar to me and I can't place meeting you anywhere." I could work with 'awfully familiar'! "Actually . . . we were childhood friends." I said and pulled the picture of us when she was 7 out of my messenger bag for proof. I was pushing her on a swing in the picture. "I don't remember." She said sadly and handed the picture of us back to me. "I was in an accident and have problems with my long term memories." I bit my lip. "Would you like to come back to my apartment with me? I have the letters you wrote me before we lost contact." I offered but she shook her head. "No, it's okay. I just wanted to know why you were so familiar." She said. "I'll see you tomorrow." And then she was gone. ---- [Gabby's POV] I rushed home. There was no way in hell that I'd known Dr. Reid during the period of time that I was missing... I dug out what I called my photography box. On the top was the very same picture that Dr. Reid had shown me. It must have been a favorite of mine. I was astonished to find a handful of pictures that contained the two of us and a bunch of letters tied with a length of ribbon. My mother had saved every letter he'd written me. The letters indicated that we were close, probably close enough to eventually fall in love with the other. I could see me doing that. Dr. Reid was attractive, definitely my type. I was so engrossed in the letters that if the knock on my door hadn't been as loud as it was, I would have missed it. "Coming." I set my almost finished bundle of Dr. Reid's letters on top of my bed and answered the door. Dr. Reid was standing on my doorstep. "I'm just a few doors down from you but . . . here." Dr. Reid handed me a second bundle that's tied with a baby blue ribbon. Mine was tied with a hot pink ribbon. "Okay I'll get these back..." I started. "Keep them. I have an eidetic memory, so I can recall them whenever I want. See you tomorrow." He started to walk away but I caught his arm in time. He turned to look at me. "I have the letters you wrote to me." I say. "You seem so... painfully different from when you wrote those letters. Tell me what happened?" He starts to consider it but then freezes. "It'll be best for you to remain my student. I'll see you tomorrow, Ms. Chambers." He said and yanked his arm from my grasp. I gasped at the unspoken consequence, that if I can't do that, then I should drop his class. "Why are you being so cold?" I call after him. He doesn't answer. --- [Spencer's POV] I had to blink back tears as I head back to my own apartment. It's best for her if I remain Dr. Spencer Reid in her eyes. She'll be safer when I return to the BAU after my reinstatement requirements are met. The moment I get into my apartment, I truly crumble to the floor and let go. It feels like I've lost the two women I have ever loved to tragic fates - Maeve because she was murdered and Gabby because of a car accident. Technically, I didn't lose Gabby, she was still alive but the amnesia was worse than death in my opinion. I wondered what had made her lose such a big amount of her long-term memories. I had been such an integral part of her childhood... It would be better to keep my distance and let her marry someone else who can keep her safe from the monsters I face on a daily basis. --- [Spencer's POV] The next morning I walked into the Criminology class to see that Gabby was the first student in the classroom, going over an assignment I had handed out yesterday for homework. She looked up and then looked back down at the paper. "Need help?" I asked her. She shook her head. I wandered over to her desk. The classroom was empty and I owed her an explanation about my behavior last night. "Look," I murmured. "Last night was a..." "Disaster seems like a good word for it," Gabby said, looking up sternly and giving me a pissed look. I sighed. "The thing is, I'm trying to protect you." She looked up at me with impatience. "Have you ever heard of the Behavioral Analysis Unit?" I asked, looking at her. "Who hasn't?" Gabby asked. "They're the nation's elite at criminal profiling." I nod. "I'm part of that unit. I've put countless criminals away who would love to hurt you to get to me. It's safer for you if we keep the relationship to that of teacher and student." I admitted, not for the first time. "Safer..." Gabby snorted. "Dr. Reid, I read all of your letters that you sent me before my accident last night. There's no way in hell that I'll believe you're capable of staying at a teacher/student relationship with me." The door opened and I returned to the front, clearly pissed off. Ruby Darley walked in as I faced the whiteboard to hide my expression, furiously writing. "Wow, Dr. Reid looks pissed. Did one of those girls proposition him?" I wanted to turn around and tell Ms. Darley I could hear her but considering the argument Gabby and I just had, it wasn't a good idea. "No, Dr. Reid's mad at me." I hear Gabby say as she opened her notebook. "You didn't!" Ms. Darley said in shock. "Quite frankly, I didn't have you pegged as one of the girls who would actually go and f**k a professor for the hell of it." "I didn't proposition him," Gabby says through her teeth. "It was over something else." I now turned around and said, "Ms. Darley, what occurred between Ms. Chambers and I is quite naturally between us. If she chooses to tell you, she may but please refrain from making comments like that." I resume my writing but still listened in. The girls changed the subject. "I can't believe that assignment Professor Callaghan gave us today for English," Ruby complained. "Well, we are reading Anne of Avonlea." I hear Gabby say with a snort. "I went through the papers my mom saved from my elementary school days." I wonder if she's saying this for my benefit... "There was this boy I had a crush on. I wrote him a letter based on the Anne books." "Did you ever give it to him?" Ruby asked. "No, I was too shy to give him the letter in that instance," Gabby says. I'd never thought of her being shy. "So what's going on between you and Dr. Reid?" I kind of wanted to know myself, so I listened. "Childhood friends and I don't remember him," Gabby answered a bit tersely. "He was acting like a jackass last night." I raised an eyebrow at her comment. "So would you?" Ruby asked. I wondered what Ruby was asking Gabby. Some sort of nonverbal exchange must've happened because I heard, "Hell no!" I turned around and raised an eyebrow at the two women. Ruby wrote something down and passed it to Gabby. "C'mon, he's clearly listening and I don't feel like explaining myself." She hissed. "It's a yes or no question, Gabby." Ruby said, giving her a look. "Drop *it* !" Gabby hissed again as I was just about to come over to their table to see what was written on the paper sitting between them like a high school teacher. "You're not getting out of answering." Ruby says as she puts the note away and the classroom fills.

Bruce Wayne gets in contact with a retired Justice Leaguer in Gotham City and approaches them regarding the Paris Incident.
(a pre-New52 DCU/Miraculous Ladybug crossover fusion)
First Chapter | Previous Chapter | Next Chapter | Chapter Index
A bell rang out across the campus of Gotham Academy. A moment later, the relative peace of the campus’s exterior was erased by the flocks of uniformed students pouring out of the hallways at the end of their school day. Some were heading to their various extracurricular activities, others heading for their dorms or off-campus to head home. Occasionally a teacher appeared amidst the throngs of teenagers, clearly visible due to their ages and work attire.
One such teacher stepped out of the school’s side entrance closest to faculty parking. He was zipping up a black leather motorcycle jacket over his burgundy dress shirt. The man had just settled atop a sleek black and red motorcycle and was about to put on a helmet in matching colors when the headlights of a black luxury car flashed at him twice from where it was parked on the other side of the iron fencing that surrounded the campus. The teacher shook his head wordlessly before the helmet was pulled on and the visor snapped shut. The motorcycle growled to life.
As the motorcycle turned towards the driveway that would lead to the street, the headlights of the black car flashed again. Twice… Pause for a full second… Twice again.
A full body sigh of resignation went through the teacher as he turned off the cycle’s engine and walked to the car. He didn’t bother to pull off his helmet until he’d settled on the back seat, and the driverless car was in motion. Then he looked at the man sitting to his left.
“Hello Bruce.”
Though he was midway into his sixties, Bruce Wayne still looked good for his age. His once jet black hair was now peppered with silver, and while his age showed in the deepening lines of his face, he clearly continued to work out and maintain his imposing physique.
“Tim.”
Timothy Drake-Wayne, a now fully grown man in his early thirties, sat silent for a long moment before he finally spoke to his adopted father. “Did someone die?”
“No.”
The tension in Tim’s shoulders eased. He didn’t bother to mask the relief on his face. “Ok.” He closed his eyes and relaxed back into the fine leather cushions.
It was about a minute before he asked his second question. “Do you need me to be present for a stockholder meeting at Wayne Enterprises to form a majority voting block with you and Damian?”
“Possibly.”
Tim sighed and opened his eyes. “I told Damian that Derek Powers was going to be trouble.”
“What makes you think this is about Powers?”
“Am I wrong?”
Bruce’s silence spoke volumes before he finally answered. “We’ve got our eyes on him.”
“Right. And when Damian is done playing with his food, and when you’re done wasting the company’s time and money let me know. I’ve unearthed a couple of Powers’s buried skeletons and have them in my back pocket for a rainy day.”
“Do I want to know how you unearthed them?”
“Plausible deniability is a beautiful thing, Bruce.”
“That doesn’t sound very legal.”
“Men like Powers don’t care about legality. They care about winning. And I already have. Powers just doesn’t know it yet.”
Despite himself, Bruce chuckled fondly and regarded his son with an affectionate expression reserved only for him when he knew Tim had done something remarkably clever.
Tim’s own expression softened into something more genuine himself. Whatever unspoken tension between the two of them that had been present was finally broken and both men seemed to finally be willing to relax around each other.
“So why am I really here, Bruce?” Tim finally asked. “No one’s dead and the company isn’t imploding. It can’t be a case. If anyone needed a consultation they’d just have Barbara forward me the details.”
Bruce’s smile faded into something more serious.
“It is a case?” Tim asked with a touch of confusion.
His father brought out a tablet secured in a black leather case that was stamped in gold with the insignia of the Justice League on the cover. “Not exactly,” Bruce said. “It’s a mission.”
Tim’s hand had been reaching out for the tablet, but the moment the word “mission” left Bruce’s lips, his hand snapped away from it as if he’d been shocked. He looked at Bruce startled for a moment before settling into an expression of betrayal. “Stop the car,” he ordered.
“Tim-”
The younger man cursed under his breath before speaking again. “Computer. Unlock the Back Door.“
To Bruce’s visible surprise, his car’s AI responded to Tim in a polite British accent. "Password?”
“B-I-A-F-A mark 101.”
“Password confirmed. Administrator access granted. How may I serve you Mr. Drake?“
"Stop the car.”
Obediently, the driverless car pulled over safely to the curb. Before he could open the door, Bruce laid a hand on Tim’s shoulder.
“Wait.”
Tim stiffened at the commanding tone of Bruce’s voice. When he responded, his voice sounded even but tight. “No missions,” he said. “No field work. Nothing to do with the League or Batman Inc. aside from the odd consultation here and there. That’s what we agreed to when I retired.” He turned to glare at Bruce. “That’s what you promised me,” he hissed.
“I know.”
To Tim’s visible surprise, Bruce looked remorseful. Still, he jerked his shoulder out from under Bruce’s hand and put as much physical distance between himself and his father as he could within the confines of the car. “So why are you breaking that promise now?”
Bruce motioned to the tablet again. “It’s the situation in Paris.“
That piqued Tim’s interest. “Paris?”
His father gave him an odd look. “You weren’t aware of the situation there?”
Tim shrugged. “Just what I’ve heard on the news. Though I would’ve thought the League would’ve stepped in by now to take control of the situation.” He regarded Bruce suspiciously. “Why haven’t you?”
“The situation in Paris is delicate and requires a specific set of qualities in whoever we send to investigate.” Bruce offered the tablet to Tim. “Before you say no, can you at least review the materials here? You don’t have to tell me your answer now, but at least look this over and consider it.”
With a sigh, Tim reluctantly took the tablet and placed it in the leather satchel he wore across his body. “I’ll look things over, but no promises.”
Bruce nodded. “Thank you Tim.”
—–
After being dropped back off at Gotham Academy, Tim rode his motorcycle back to his private home, which was still the refurbished movie theater near Crime Alley he’d taken ownership over a decade and a half earlier.
Once inside, Tim removed his satchel and jacket. He pulled out the leather-bound tablet and ran his thumb over the embossed insignia of the Justice League. Then he took a secret elevator downstairs into the sub-basement level of his home where his office resided.
As soon as he entered his office, the scanners scanned his biometric signals and immediately came to life. The lights came on, his coffee maker began brewing a fresh pot, and the most recent track on his favorite playlist, an older song from Jagged Stone’s first break-out album, started playing in the background.
“Rise and shine, Archimedes” Tim said as he approached his custom built supercomputer. “Time to get to work.”
“Of course Timothy,” the computer replied in a voice similar to that used in Bruce’s car. "You have twelve unread messages from your Gotham ISD email account and eight unread messages from your combined personal email accounts.” A small tablet on Tim’s desk flickered to life and the list of emails were displayed. “The homework assignments from your students today have been uploaded and are ready for review and grading.” A laptop bearing the crest of Gotham Academy on its case turned on as well and the assignments were preloaded for his convenience. “Finally there are no new cases from Oracle. Which would you prefer to start with?”
“None of the above,” Tim set the Justice League tablet on a scanner. “Please reopen the case file labeled Miraculous Incident - Paris. I need you to download all the data from this tablet and cross-reference it with the information already collected. Ignore any redundant information and highlight anything new. I’ll review those personally and decide how they fit into the bigger picture.”
As Tim went to collect his first cup of coffee for the evening, the three biggest monitors of Tim’s workstation blinked to life. A large amount of information regarding the Miraculous conflict in Paris was stretched across all the screens, connected by straight lines like a giant spider’s web. Tim sipped from his coffee and watched as his AI Archimedes stripped data from the tablet and flung them into various folders on the web. Occasionally, he would bring up a specific folder and review it on one of his own personal tablets while Archimedes continued its work. While the AI had completed parsing out the League data within 20 minutes, it was a solid two and a half hours later before Tim finished his own review of the new data.
“Damn it,” he muttered as he leaned as far back as his desk chair would allow. He sighed before addressing his computer.
“Archimedes. Bring up my travel itinerary on the main screen.”
On the central monitor, Tim’s passport, his plane ticket to Paris scheduled for this coming weekend, and his hotel reservation were all laid out, all under an alias. Everything was done modestly, as if he were an unassuming lower middle income American tourist looking to visit Paris for a few weeks.
“Ok. Cancel all of that and shelve the alias. Resubmit all reservations under my own name and passport and at the appropriate income level adjustments for a Wayne and set the departure date for the weekend.”
“First class or private jet?”
“First class on a red-eye.”
“Hotel preference?” Archimedes brought up a list of choices. Tim glanced through the most recent notes regarding the Miraculous conflict from the Justice League.
“One week reservation at Le Grand Paris,” Tim said. Then he paused. “Also, show me the current unoccupied Batman Inc safehouses in Paris.”
Archimedes pulled up a map that showed where each one was located. There were thirteen.
“Highlight those that are available for long-term civilian cover occupancy for a single person within walking distance of College Francoise Dupont.”
The choices on the map were reduced to three.
Tim nodded to himself. “Good. Now locate the contact information for the head of the Neon Knights Paris branch. Draft a request for a teleconference meeting from Executive Director Timothy Drake-Wayne for sometime tomorrow that is amenable to both of our respective time-zones.“
Archimedes sent the email draft to Timothy’s tablet. "Request complete. Anything else sir?”
“Call Bruce on the cave line.”
A few moments later, “Have you made a decision?” Bruce asked.
“I’ll take the mission.”
“Thank you Tim. Who would you like to go with you?”
“No one.”
Bruce paused on the other end of the line. “You want to take this solo? Are you sure?”
“Positive. I wouldn’t mind having a link to Oracle for tech support, but I don’t need anyone else for this.”
“Don’t need or just don’t want?”
Despite not being able to see his father, Tim’s face reflected mild irritation at the question. "Bruce…” Tim said, a hard edge to his voice.
He heard the sigh on the other end of the line that signaled Bruce was trying hard not to start an argument with him. “So what do you need for this mission?”
“Besides Oracle access and a list of gear I’d like to have shipped to Paris from the armory that I’ll send later, I also want one of the safe houses in Paris to set up as a personal apartment for a few months.”
“You think the mission will take that long?”
“What I want is for this to be wrapped up within a week of me touching down in Paris so I can get back to my life here as soon as possible.” Tim said as he glanced at a side desk where a collection of personal photos were displayed. Most were of his family and friends, past and present, both as a civilian and a former hero. There was one  photo that was resting face down on the desk. With a somber expression, he lifted it up to gaze at the image contained within.
“However, what I want and what will happen are often two vastly different things, if history is any indication.”
“What alias do you want the safe house registered to?”
Tim set the photo back on the desk, face down. “None. I’m going as myself.”
“Are you sure?”
“I’ve got a plan.”
Tim could hear the fondness in Bruce’s voice. “Of course you do.”
“I’ll send you the details in the morning.”
“By the way,” Bruce said. “Because this is a League sanctioned mission, we need a code-name for you to use while in the field. Do you want me to reactivate Red R–”
“No!”
Tim clapped his hand over his mouth and there was a long moment of silence. He hadn’t intended to shout and it caught him completely off guard.
“Tim?” Bruce spoke up cautiously after a long moment.
Slowly Tim brought down his hand. He took a slow deep breath to steady the sudden rush of nerves. “It’s ok… I’m fine,” he said. Then he took another long breath and tried to will the lump in his throat to fade. “I’m fine.” After another breath, he felt more steady and back to his baseline.
“If the League needs a code-name for me,” Tim started more calmly. “Use Mockingbird .” He sighed. “Now I have some papers to grade. I’ll touch base with you tomorrow after classes are done.”
“Alright. Talk to you tomorrow.”
Once the connection was closed, Tim slumped into his desk chair and ran his hands over his face.
“What the hell am I doing?”’

Notes:
For those of you unfamiliar with the original Red Robin series pre-New52, here is a brief description of the Neon Knights organization:
The Neon Knights is a social foundation created by Timothy Drake and supported by Wayne Enterprises to help at-risk teenagers from turning to crime by providing youth shelters and community activities for youth gangs. He founded this alongside one of Lucius Fox’s daughters (Tamara Fox) back when he was seventeen. Originally it was a Gotham-centric non-profit, but has since expanded across the United States and several international locations over the years.
Derek Powers is a reference to a major villain from the Batman Beyond animated series.
“B-I-A-F-A” stands for “Bruce is a f*cking ass”.

Title: crush
A/N: For @xstarshells, for the FFXV exchange. Since you wanted Prompto and weren’t particular about shipping/friendship, I just kinda did a Prompto has crushes on everyone fic.
i. Noctis
Prompto was staring. He knew it was wrong but he couldn’t tear his eyes away from the young prince. Noctis was in his school, in his class. He was only several rows away from a celebrity. All Prompto had to do was get up, walk a few meters, and poof! He could talk to Noctis.
Well, maybe it wouldn’t be that simple. For starters, Noctis was usually surrounded again by a gaggle of their classmates, all of them jostling for a better position to talk to him. It had died down a bit from the first few days, with some of their classmates getting bored of it all, but it was still a crowd by any standards. Sometimes they were so thick, Noctis was barely visible. Prompto wasn’t sure if he could push past them all.
Or if he even should. With a sigh, he stared at his chubby hands before sprawling over his desk. What was he thinking? The prince wouldn’t even give him the time of day, the way he was now. Maybe if he ran a lot and ate a little and wore better clothes. Made himself look real nice, just like the movie stars did. Then maybe, just maybe, Noctis would look his way. Stare at him just as Prompto had stared at Noctis.
Yeah. That was a plan. That would work.
    ii. Luna
The letters smelled of lilies. Prompto pressed the envelope to his nose and closed his eyes as he took a deep breath. All of Luna’s letters gave off a vivid scent, so strong he could just picture the bright white lilies. Maybe the Oracle had a fresh bouquet by her desk when she wrote or maybe she just naturally smelled like flowers. Like instead of sweating like a normal human, she just gave off perfume.
 It was a silly thought.
He wondered if he was right.
Without a moment’s delay, he tried his best to neatly open the envelope without destroying it. He didn’t put half as much effort into keeping his homework uncrumpled, but one was a paper assigned by an ordinary teacher and the other was a message from a princess. Even his teacher would have to agree which one was more important.
Still, he couldn’t believe he was pen pals with a princess. Their letters were carried by a magic dog. It felt like something out of a fairy tale, down to the writing. To the elegant cursive that spelled out Prompto, as though he wasn’t just an ordinary boy but someone important.
He read his letter, feeling a warmth wash over him, and hoped she looked forward to his reply half as much as he did to getting hers.
    iii. Gladiolus
“Alright, almost done,” Gladiolus announced, kneeling in front of the fire pit. He struck two pieces of flint together expertly and a flame jumped from his hands to the kindling he set.
“Wow, that was quick!” Prompt gawked, checking his phone for the time. They’d only just started camping, what, like five minutes ago? And sure, he kind of expected Ignis to have everything neatly packed and the tents to set up easily—that was Ignis. He was overprepared for everything. Including a prince who didn’t really like camping unless there was fishing involved.
Then again, this was Gladiolus. The guy who looked like he just came out of the wilderness. It shouldn’t be a surprise at all.
“That’s only because you’re so slow.” Gladiolus smirked, his tone teasing. Confidence oozed off him as he adjusted the logs. No, it’d be more accurate to say Gladiolus wore confidence like a second skin and  Prompto couldn’t stop watching him, completely enthralled.
Prompto forced himself to reply, “I’m just normal.”
“Yeah, not buying that.” Standing up now, he clapped Prompto on the back. “Don’t worry, I’ll show you the ropes.”
“Hey, careful!” Prompto groaned, rubbing his back. “We’re not all bruisers like you.”
“Nothing a little training can’t fix.” Gladiolus raked a hand through his hair. In the twilight, the fire flickered off his toned arms and Prompt felt his mouth go dry. “I’m already giving Noctis lessons. You need some?”
“Yes,” Prompto answered without thinking. Noctis had one-on-one sessions. One-on-one with Gladiolus, with him just focusing on Prompto and no one else, with his eyes on him—and he never gave any breaks. For food, for rest, for anything. Realizing just what tutoring under Gladiolus would entail, Prompto quickly shook his head. “No, no, definitely not, I’m good.”
“You sure?” Gladiolus raised a brow and if he could just stop smiling, stop staring at Prompto with that confident gaze, it’d be good. It’d be great.
Prompto nodded furiously. “Definitely. I like my sleep.”
    iv. Aranea
Black leather. Lying flat on the ground, it was all Prompto could see. Sleek black leather on a long leg, feet coming to a point on high heels. Following it up, he wasn’t surprised to find Aranea on the other end of it all, looking down at them with a smirk.
“Hello, boys. Need any help?” she drawled. She leaned down for a closer look at him, her gloved hand wrapping around his chin and angling his face up. His face heated up immediately. “Seems you’re pretty beat.”
Prompto swallowed, unable to reply. God, he was feeling hot. Sweltering, almost. His skin burned at her touch. She shifted on her feet, her heels clicking right in his ears, and his pants were suddenly tight.
For once, he understood what Gladiolus meant when he talked about being stepped on.
    v.
If there was one word to describe Ignis, it would be smooth. Every action he made flowed into the other, even for something as simple as making tea. His long fingers firmly grasped the kettle, carefully pouring two cups. Prompto couldn’t tear his eyes away from the simple actions. His fingers itched to grab his camera but a photo couldn’t really capture what he was seeing.
“So, what is it?” Ignis asked as he added milk and sugar to the first cup. A long stir, two taps of the spoon, and he presented the finished product to Ignis. “One sugar, right?”
“Yeah.” Prompto carefully took the cup from Ignis. He shouldn’t be surprised by now, but even after going blind, Ignis never missed a step. It was like nothing had changed, in more ways than one. “I can’t believe there’s still tea.”
“People are crossbreeding varieties to handle more darkness,” Ignis replied, taking his own cup. He took a small sip and grimaced. “Though the taste still leaves something to be desired.”
“I didn’t even think plants could grow in the dark,” Prompto muttered, taking a sip himself. He winced at the slightly watered-down flavour. He’d have to get used to it; this was the best they could do.
“Few can. But this is the life that we are faced with, and so we must adapt.” Ignis took another sip. “So what is it?”
“Ah, right.” Prompto rubbed the back of his neck. “I just wanted to check on you before I head out.”
“Head out?” Ignis raised a brow.
“Long mission—I’m helping bring in any refugees.” Prompto frowned. Which was worse—that there was only one city, really, where people could live, or that all of humanity could somehow fit in that city? The amount of people that had died…he didn’t really want to think about it.
“Ah, that is important.” Setting aside his cup, Ignis reached out to grasp Prompto’s hand. “Take care— Gladiolus won’t be around to protect you anymore.”
“Hey, I can handle myself!” Prompto pouted before breaking into laughter. “Yeah, I will. I promise.”
“Good.” Ignis squeezed his hands one more time before pulling back. “See me when you come back.”
Somehow, Ignis always looked dignified. Even here, in this shamble of a house, with chipped teacups and little light, he still looked as noble as he did back in Insomnia. Prompto picked up his camera this time, to capture this essence and freeze it.
 “Yeah.” Prompto nodded. “I will.”
It was something to bring him back, when all was said and done.

Hello I’ve recently been Super sad and disappointed in myself my assignments are all rushed out because I constantly get sick. I can’t seem to finish the next batch of assignments either so could I ask what would be the out come of my internship and major project assignments? Would it be good/bad? Will my gpa rise compared to the previous semester? -l.h.e.c Thank you for your time energy & effort sending healing energy 🍀
Tumblr media
Hello! Thank you so much for the healing energy, I send it right back at you!! It is so hard to have health issues as well, especially when the stress of making up everything weighs on you as well. I'm so, so sorry you are going through this stressful time, and I wish you the best in your endeavors! 🔮✨🔮
For your reading I pulled 3 tarot cards. The first is what the outcome of your internship be, what will the outcome of you major assignments be, and how will your gpa turn out this semester! I also pulled an oracle card to clarify.
For what the outcome of your internship will be, we have the 3 of Blooms (Cups). This is telling me that your internship will go really well! I feel the people around you are going to notice all the hard work you put in, and also appreciate you greatly! You may even end up building some strong bonds with the people you worked with by the end of this as well! Know that you are doing very well within this, and that your internship is a wondeful thing to help towards your future career! So be proud of yourself, and continue to put your all into this!
For what the outcome of your major assignments will be, we have the 5 of Bones (Pentacles). I feel that your health may end up interfering with some of your major projects again. Which is 100% not your fault! I was in a very similar boat when I was in school, and do not be scared to speak up about this! Know that even if schools tell you that they have specific guidelines on when things are due, there are always exceptions. The worst thing asking for an extension can bring, is just a "no". So keep doing the best you can while also looking out for your health! If you have to as well, try relying on classmates around you. Help with notes and even working on homework together can help you get through these road blocks you may face!
For how your gpa will turn out this semester, we have the 6 of Blooms (Cups). This is telling me that you will have a similar gpa to the one you had prior, but you will have a more positive outlook on what has happened! This is telling me that you will actively be making changes to help yourself along. Know that there are people around you that want to help, and through their support you can find yourself gradually improving! So keep on, even if your gpa isn't as high as you would like, and appreciate the improvement you have made!
For your oracle card, we have Israfel - Angel of Song. This is telling me that you are in the process of this rough period ending for yourself. I feel you are on the verge of getting your footing in all of this, and that with optimism, you can look towards the future with hope! I feel a lot is coming to you, so keep an eye out, and appreciate all the universe gives you! You can get through all of this!
I hope that this has helped! I do see you improving, but don't get discouraged if a health issue pops up again. You really cannot help it, and know that people can support you through this! Best wishes!! 🌼🌺🌼🌺🌼🌺🌼

Inktober Day #28: Gift (~410 words) read on AO3 // AFF
- October 28, 2005 -
Minho coughed, the hazy air of the Divination classroom tickling his throat. He readjusted his hold on Kibum’s hand, squinting at the lines in his palm and fingers.
“This is so boring,” Kibum murmured, and Minho sniffed in amusement.
At the table behind them, Seb leaned forward, whispering, “Do you think we should try distracting her again? It worked well enough last time.”
“What with, though?”
Seb leaned back, raising his hand to get Trelawney’s attention, while Minho and Kibum hunched back over. “Yes, my child?” she asked, her low and airy voice loud in the silence of the classroom.
“A couple weeks ago, you mentioned the gift of sight, but like, what does that mean?”
She let out a long sigh. “It’s often confused with intuition, or at least that’s the Muggle terminology for it. The gift of sight is something you feel in your soul, when you can close your eyes and see far into the future. Back in ancient Greece, seers -- namely women -- were called oracles, and they were far more respected than we are in this day in age. In fact -- “
Seb leaned forward again. “You’re welcome.”
Kibum stretched and yawned, sitting back in his armchair as he started to doze off, and Minho scooted his ottoman closer to Kibum’s chair, leaning against the side. He didn’t fall asleep, but he zoned out as she rambled on and on about a specific oracle...Pythia? Whatever, as long as she was talking about this, she wasn’t assigning them any homework.
She went on past the ringing of the bell announcing the end of the period. Was she ranting about fake seers who give real seers a bad reputation? Minho shook Kibum’s shoulder, rousing him before he started to pack up their things.
“Oh,” she blinked, her eyes unusually large in her thick glasses. “Is it already that time?”
“Yes, ma’am,” Travis said, looking over at Seb and giving him a thumbs-up when she turned her back on the class.
“Ah, I seem to have lectured for too long again today, my apologies, dear children. We’ll pick up where we left off on Wednesday, alright? You may go,” she said with a wave of her hand.
“No homework?” Kibum mouthed to Minho, who shook his head. They grinned as they followed the rest of the class to the trapdoor.
