I really wonder if Grian is still terrified about still becoming like the watchers. Does every small cramp he has send him into a spiral of fear? Does he fidget with his hands, as a way to feel them and know they havent changed into rough talons, and does he constantly check himself in every small reflection, just to see if hes grown a new pair of eyes?

Yes ! Grian does worry about this. His hands will ache from working and he will worry about it. He sometimes can’t seem to hold eye contact with people while talking to them, instead looking down at his hands and rubbing his knuckles.

He keeps his nails short and filed, mostly bc it’s easier to build that way, but long nails remind him of talons.

I think the cause of his change is using Watcher’s magic, their enchantments slowly shaping him. There’s a reason why they were so strict with him learning so many different things, crafting, building, portals, ignore the aching in your back.

Grian doesn’t use this magic anymore, he can still remember it though, all that time memorizing it is burned into his eyes.

I don’t think flying counts, that won’t change anything for him, it’s already apart of him, and it’s the same as running than anything.
