The Jerusalem Post said the maritime corridor plan was Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s idea, citing an unnamed “senior diplomatic source.” Netanyahu had reportedly first proposed the plan to Biden in October, and pressed the issue again with the US president in January.“ This source, close to the prime minister, insinuated that Biden was simply implementing a plan by Netanyahu, not actually initiating anything new,” the Post reported. While touring Gaza’s coast in a naval vessel on Sunday, Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant expressed enthusiasm about the plans of a maritime corridor. “The process is designed to bring aid directly to the residents and thus continue the collapse of Hamas’s rule in Gaza,” he said.

But why would Israel, the engineer of the Gaza famine, endorse the idea of establishing a maritime corridor for aid to address a crisis it initiated and is now worsening? This might appear paradoxical if one were to assume that the primary aim of the maritime corridor is to deliver aid.Palestinians in Gaza received the news about the planned port with fear and suspicion. Analysts have speculated that this could be a ploy to eliminate Egypt as an outlet between the Gaza Strip and the rest of the world, and sever the coastal enclave’s reliance on Egypt economically and politically by way of the Egyptian-controlled Rafah crossing – the sole point of exit and entry for most people in Gaza. This would ostensibly complete Israel’s control of the Gaza Strip without dependence on Egyptian cooperation, reliable as it may have been. Abdel Bari Atwan, a Gaza-born world-renowned Palestinian journalist, invoked the US-facilitated evacuation of thousands of Palestinian guerilla fighters of the Palestine Liberation Organization from Beirut in 1982 as an insight into what these plans could possibly suggest. Atwan indicated that the maritime corridor would create a pathway for the forcible evacuation of Palestinians by sea. Other analysts have expressed similar fears.

Michael Fakhri, the UN special rapporteur on the right to food, slammed what he called “absurd” US plans for getting aid into Gaza, whether through airdrops or the temporary port. “From a humanitarian perspective, from an international perspective, from a human rights perspective, it is absurd in a dark, cynical way,” he said. Human rights groups have dismissed announcements of building a temporary pier as a distraction from Israel’s systemic and deliberate policy of starvation of Palestinians in Gaza. “The proposed maritime humanitarian corridor and temporary seaport is another tool to weaponize aid,” the Palestinian refugee advocacy group Badil said. It is meant to “absolve Israel of its responsibilities and obligations, and support Israel in its ‘day after plans’: to eliminate and replace UNRWA [the UN agency for Palestine refugees] and establish a potential mechanism for Palestinian forcible transfer out of the Gaza Strip.”

Suggestion on how to fix Doctor Who 15x6 - "The Interstellar Song Contest"

So, I think the core problem with the episode is just how two-dimensional and ill-conceived the writing is for the villain, 'Kid'. The way to fix this would be to basically rewrite him and reveal he isn't one, but have The Doctor still fall into the trap of assuming he is:

Phase 2 first The Doctor notices something odd about the air shield and goes exploring while Belinda continues watching the show. Meanwhile, Kid and Win take over the control room, uploading their code into the system and installing the Delta Wave. The Doctor meets Mike and Gary and Graham Norton in the history museum and eventually discovers the Hellian code that's taken control of the broadcast and the entire space station, triggering the deafening Delta Wave in the process. The Doctor fears the Hellians are going to transmit the wave out and kill trillions of viewers. Elsewhere, Mrs Flood tries to leave, but discovers the code is blocking off teleportation and stopping all exit or entry to the station. She heads for the control room to find out why.

Phase 1 Kid disables the air shield and the artificial 'mavity'. (Note, the bubble doesn't burst, he just seems to deactivate it). The Doctor watches helplessly from inside, as the crowd is sucked out into space, including Belinda and the TARDIS. (Note, as far as he can tell, they all just died and are gone. None of this 'oh, actually all 100,000 of them can still be saved, they're just in pseudo-cryogenic suspension' business). Understandably, The Doctor is grieving and on the warpath. He, Mike and Gary meet up with Cora and Len, who talk about the Hellians being terrorists and evil, despite the fact none of them have actually ever been to Hellia. Kid warns them over the intercom not to interfere and the Doctor threatens him. Cora reveals herself and explains the truth about Hellia, and her fear that Kid wants revenge. The Doctor does his hologram trick, but when Kid shoots at him, the blast passes through and hits Mrs Flood, seemingly killing her. Horrified, the Doctor destroys the Delta Wave device, and then begins torturing Kid. He does not realise the transmission is already locked in to broadcast at a specific point and can't be stopped now. Hellia Belinda wakes up disoriented on the barren plains of a desolate war-torn planet along with the other 100,000 people. She spots the TARDIS and makes her way through the crowd, who are confused, but mainly unharmed. With some trial and error, Belinda manages to get the TARDIS to return to the space station, and goes looking for the Doctor. A large projection screen activates above the crowd, showing the dress rehearsal being televised. Phase 3 The transmission begins, but it is not the Delta Wave being sent out. It is footage of Hellia before and after its destruction, with Kid's voice exposing proof of the Poppy Honey Corporation's crimes. Caught off guard, The Doctor stops torturing the genocide survivor, as Belinda comes through the door. Win explains that the plan was never to transmit the Delta Wave. They just needed it as a defense mechanism for the code to prevent anyone from interfering with their message going out. But knowing that even the footage wasn't enough to convince everyone watching, they also reconfigured the air shield to act as a giant teleport when the 'mavity' was turned off, thus sending 100,000 people to Hellia to see what had happened there with their own eyes, and hopefully spread the truth.

As Mike takes Kid to the hospital, Belinda confronts The Doctor about his actions, forcing him to admit his automatic assumptions about Kid being a terrorist out to kill everyone were aspersions he shouldn't have so readily accepted. Thinking The Doctor worked for Poppy Honey, Kid was willing to shoot him to stop any interference with the transmission, but any other threats were just him bluffing. With the message successfully transmitted, the regular broadcast is restored, but now shows Cora singing her song to an empty arena. The crowd watches in silence from the ruins of Hellia.

How Do F1 Cars Work?: Setup pt 1

Alright, so I wanted to explore car setups and how they effect F1 cars. Enjoy!

So, setting up an F1 car is a very complex process, They have to balance numerous elements in the car to suit things like weather, track type, driving styles, etc. But what do they actually alter on the car? And how does it effect the driving?

Altered Components:

Aerodynamics - The easiest and most obvious adjustments are to the aerodynamics, like the rear wings or front wings. These are usually the ones chosen for change in aerodynamics, but they might also change the side pods or diffusers to effect the downforce of the car. They most often change aerodynamics for circuit styles. A tight street circuit will require higher downforce set up, as it gives them more control around the corners. A classic circuit will often switch to a low downforce set up, which gives them speed on the straights. Most teams try to have a good balance, however.

Suspension - Suspension settings control how the car responds to bumps and turns. Whenever they discuss a car porpoising too much, it is usually because the suspension set up is wrong. They change variables including ride height (distance between lowest point of car and track surface), camber (angle of wheels relative to the vertical axel from the front), toe (angle of front wheel when viewed from above), stiffness of springs, and anti-roll bars (parts that connect left and right suspension systems, which help control body roll). For example, cars can have negative or positive camber, which really effect things like grip, tire wear, etc. These aspects of setup are usually altered to suit a drivers style and preferences.

Tire Setup - This essentially envelopes tire pressure and starting temperature, which impact grip and wear rates. For example, lower tire pressure increases the grip, but leads to faster degradation. Higher does the opposite. This is usually altered depending on track temperature and style, or even ti make up for their weak areas. If they do not have good tire management, for example, they may alter the tire setup to degrade slower.

Differential - This controls the relative speed of the rear wheels, a big part of traction control. It is adjusted to either open or lock more. An open differential allows the rear wheels to rotate at different speeds, helping with corner entry but leading to oversteer a lot of the time. A locked differential keeps the wheels rotating together, offering stability on exits but leading to a lot of understeer. This is an aspect that is often changed to suit driver preference. Some can handle the oversteer very well, but other find understeer easier to deal with.

Brake Balance - This is the balance between the front and rear brakes, and is used to prevent lockup (when too much force is applied to the brakes, causing the disc to stop or rotate slower than the car's motion) and improve stability. This is altered by changing the bias, or distribution of braking force, and is often discussed in terms of percentages. More rear brake bias improves rotation in corners, but increases chance of rear lockup. More front brake bias stabilized braking, but can make turn-in more challenging.

Engine Mapping- This refers to the software settings in the car that controls how the engine delivers power. Things like throttle response, fuel injection, ignition timing, and turbo settings are all altered. All of it changes how a car accelerates, responds to stimuli, and consumes fuel. The different types of maps include qualifying maps (max power for short time), race maps (balanced and conservative), fuel-saving maps (usually end of race), and wet maps (softer throttle response, less sensitive car). ERS Deployment is a big part of this, and refers to the management of the kinetic and heat generators. They choose different ERS deployment depending on what they plan to do. For example, if they are planning on trying to overtake they will charge their battery and then use a lot of power to give the car a boost.

Gear Ratios - These ratios determine the relationship between the RPM (engine speed) and the speed of the wheels. There are eight forward gears in F1, and each one changes this ratio to some degree. The ratios dictate how much the engine must rev for the wheels to turn at a certain speed. The two major types of gear ratios are long ratios and short ratios. Long ratios reduce the torque but allow for higher top speeds, suited for tracks with long straights. Short ratios provide more torque which allows for faster acceleration, better for twisty tracks.

Setup Types:

While there are so many different aspects to set up, there are a few main types that most teams follow. Between them, a variety of factors change, but the core of them remains the same.

High-Downforce - One of the most basic set ups, it prioritizes grip on corners by increased downforce. Usually used for twisty, slow-medium circuits like Monaco or Singapore.

Low-Downforce - The other more basic setup, it lowers generated downforce to minimize drag and optimize for straight-line speed. It does sacrifice corner grip, so is best suited for classic circuits like Silverstone or Monza.

Wet - In wet races DRS is disabled, and drag is at an all time high. So teams usually focus on getting a huge amount of downforce, making car less sensitive, and making sure their tire set up is as grippy as possible. The differential is also changed, as drivers should be able to keep traction, ride height is raised, and suspension is softened. This is kind of a subsection of the high-downforce set up, though for different reasons.

High/Low Temp - Both hot and cold temperatures have massive impacts on F1 cars. So if they know they will have a race with an extreme on either side, the set up must be altered to reflect that. In hot Singapore, for example, they must lower tire pressure, change the camber, and boost the cooling systems to avoid overheating engine and degrading tires fast. In cold Montreal, tire pressures are raised, brakes are placed in different settings to keep warm, and the camber is also changed.

On the 214th day of "Israel's" ongoing special genocide operation in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) committed a total of 6 new massacres of Palestinian families, resulting in the deaths of no less than 54 Palestinian civilians, mostly women and children, while another 96 others were wounded over the previous 24-hours.

It should be noted that as a result of the constant Israeli bombardment of Gaza's healthcare system, infrastructure, residential and commercial buildings, local paramedic and civil defense crews are unable to reach countless hundreds, even thousands of victims who remain trapped under the rubble, or who's bodies remain strewn across the streets of Gaza.

The United States has given the "green light" to an Israeli invasion of Rafah, that's according to the Israeli occupation media today, which wrote that the "invasion of Rafah came after a message was sent to Egypt with full American coordination."

According to a report in the Hebrew media on the Rafah operation, "the American administration gave Netanyahu the green light for a limited operation that may last a few days in order to obtain a victory image that he could market to the ministers of the extreme right."

"The US will ban the transfer of ammunition and military equipment to Israel - if Netanyahu violates the agreement," the report added.

In response to the announcement, Egypt immediately condemned the operation, which resulted in the Israeli occupation forces taking full control over the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing.

In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said the escalation in Rafah was a "dangerous development" that threatens the lives of more than a million Palestinians who depend on the Rafah crossing as a lifeline for the Gaza Strip, and for the safe outlet for the wounded and sick to exit the enclave for treatment and for the entry of humanitarian and relief aid.

At the same time, China also condemned the Israeli operations in Rafah, calling on the Israeli occupation to "stop attacking Rafah" after the Israeli authorities announced they had taken control over the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing.

In a statement, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Lin Jian stated, "China strongly calls on Israel to respond to the great demands of the international community, stop attacking Rafah, and do everything in its power to avoid a more serious humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip."

Immediately following the announcement of the "limited" operation in Rafah, widespread carpet bombing of Gaza's southernmost city began, with the homes and businesses of Palestinians targeted with American-made bunker-busting dumb bombs dropped by the Israeli occupation army.

During the assault, occupation forces bombed the residential home of the Al-Hams family in the Al-Geneina neighborhood, east of Rafah, obliterating the house and killing four civilians, followed by another IOF airstrike on the Abdel-Al family in the administrative district in central Rafah, murdering one family member and wounding a number of others.

Elsewhere in Gaza, the Israeli occupation army launched several raids on the towns of Beit Hanoun and Jabalia in Gaza's north, while Israeli air forces bombarded the Yarmouk area, east of Jabalia, and also targeted a home belonging to the Al-Durailmi family, in the Al-Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City, slaughtering three civilians and wounding several others.

Additionally, a Palestinian citizen was killed and others wounded following an Israeli airstrike on the residential home of the Bakr family in the Al-Shati Refugee Camp, west of Gaza City on the eastern Mediterranean shore.

Following the seemingly endless bombing and shelling of the Israeli army, local civil defense crews managed to recover the bodies of several Palestinian civilians found under the rubble of their homes, including the homes of the Abu Amra, Al-Shamali, Al-Hams and Abdel-Al families, all of which were bombed overnight and into the morning, killing dozens of citizens.

In the bombing of the Abu Amra family home, three civilians were killed, including a child.

Meanwhile, in yet another atrocity, IOF warplanes bombarded a residential home in the Tal al-Sultan neighborhood, west of Rafah, in Gaza's south, martyring five civilians and wounding a number of others.

According to sources with the Kuwait Specialized Hospital in Rafah City, at least 20 people were killed and dozens of others wounded in the overnight and dawn bombings of Gaza's southernmost city.

They said rescue crews, ambulance, paramedics and civil defense personnel recovered the bodies of four civilians, including two women, while another 18 were wounded, following the Israeli bombing of the Al-Darbi family home, in the Tal al-Sultan neighborhood, west of Rafah.

In further criminal attacks, IOF fighter jets launched airstrikes targeting the civilian home of the Al-Afifi family family, also in the Tal al-Sultan neighborhood of Rafah, wounding several Palestinians, while another airstrike conducted against a school sheltering displaced families in Gaza City killed one and wounded many others.

IOF aircraft further targeted a residential home belonging to the Al-Shamali family, adjacent to the Abu Bakr Mosque in the Brazil neighborhood of Rafah, killing and maiming several citizens.

Elsewhere, occupation forces focused their bombing in Gaza's north on the Al-Zaytoun, Tal al-Hawa, Sheikh Ajlin, and Al-Sabra neighborhoods of Gaza City, while another bombing targeted a civilian residence in the Al-Atatra area of Beit Lahiya.

In further assaults, an IOF attack helicopter of the Apache variety was seen opening fire on neighborhoods south of the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City.

Military and armored vehicles of the Israeli occupation forces have also been built-up just 200 meters from Rafah border crossing, some of which fired shells into the city according to some reports, while the Egyptian side said the occupation army was conducting limited operations near the crossing and would withdraw from its vicinity tomorrow morning.

Mirage and Quake were the only ones in proximity. Despite the setback, we managed to secure our objective. The police came right as we were about to exit the area, but Mirage and Phantom were able to slip away before they were spotted. Good thing, too, otherwise we'd have to sit through another rant from the Commissioner about how vigilantes are "not supposed to meddle with hero work". I'm not in the mood for that today.

The BEA Outpost is compact and modular, designed for both safety and immersive study. All areas are connected by the Central Hallway, a reinforced glass corridor that runs through the spine of the facility. HOUSING QUARTERS (EAST WING)

Student Dorm Pods

Each student is assigned a private climate controlled pod.

Each unit includes a bed, storage compartment, personal interface terminal, and clear ceiling panels for observing Pandora’s sky.

You are expected to maintain your space. Random inspections occur monthly.

Common Lounge & Cafeteria
