First meeting:

When you first enter the spider society he isn't very fond of you, think that in this part he is struggling with the pain of losing his daughter and the responsibility of taking care of the spider society

things got divided and genuinely it doesn’t feel like the same fandom at all. the fandom on twitter feels nothing like the fandom on tiktok or on tumblr. and because so many people don’t have tumblr now, despite how tumblr is the utmv fandom’s medium, it’s difficult to get the people together like they used to. someone could be famous on tumblr, everyone knows their name and their ocs, but on twitter nobody knows who they are. tiktok has plenty of tumblr reposts but theyre also in the dark a lot of the time. it’s disconnected.

the community would be a lot better if we just. migrated back to tumblr again and stopped the callout posts, because honestly i don’t care what someone said that was mildly rude to someone else or anything of that silly nature. it’s not that serious!!!! it’s driving us apart!!!!!!!! we can’t be together if we don’t make an effort!!!!!

I think I'm just gonna post my sketches here so I can get more people's opinions but, I finished the oc (for Aequitas' friend!!)

So far I've decided that his name is Pelios (he/him)! But um so funny story. While I was researching if there was a Greek god of emotions (I wanted to emphasize that this character is incredibly emotionally intelligent) the name Pelios came up and he was supposedly born from the Goddess of Life and the God of the Moon. There was very little about Pelios (there was 2 pictures on Google and that's it) but then I realized he might be from a book or series and not an actual Greek god 😭 I realized this halfway in like when I was drawing his hair, which, I had wanted to base both the hair shape and color off Pelios. I just told myself he's real because I'm too lazy to change it now </3 and truthfully, no other Greek gods fit the oc nicely so let's pretend Pelios was real together

The yellow might be a bit too intense but just lmk !! About what you and others think of the design itself :]

As for his personality, Pelios is attuned to all the emotions of other human beings, creatures, even plants. He can feel everything (he's the ultimate empath LMAO)

He's very creative and is nowhere near as intelligent as Ratio or Aequitas, but he's still smart enough to get into the gifted track, yet he never did (there was this part of the test that asked, "are you at the top/better than others?" And he answered no every time he took that test)

(if we wanted to go down the "he's also a gifted kid" path, we'll say he passed, and also struggles with the pressure, but the both of them learn to lean on each other. Lmk which idea you like better)

Pelios is at peace with himself, because he is aware of both his strengths and weaknesses. As Aequitas' friend, he could teach her how to calm and not let others pressuring comments get to her head.

As for what Pelios could work on himself, perhaps he's TOO disconnected from other people. He constantly seems to be in his own little world and can't really regulate what he feels. It's led him to making careless mistakes in assignments, among a few other problems. Aequitas could bring him back down to earth sometime.

there are so many nice people here in vegas but there’s this one person that was really nice and i wish i said goodbye to before i left to go back to the hotel

so i went to omega mart and did all the story shits . HOWEVER , since my mom and brother had to restart [and my mom is slow compared to us] , i ended up losing my group . so i wandered around while calling out for my mom , that’s when i stumbled upon this lady sitting on a seat in a small tucked away area .

this tucked away area had a tv displaying some omega mart lore that i believe is only accessible at omega mart itself , and i sat down in a seat next to her and we both started talking abt the video and the tasty lore . despite her being a stranger , i felt a bit more at ease sitting next to her instead of aimlessly wandering .

she even offered to tell my mom and brother where i was if she ever stumbled upon them , as she already watched the long ass video on the screen . i ended up finding security shortly after she left bc i was getting real anxious .

i never saw her on my way out the door , which is a shame bc i wanted to at least say a small bye bye .

there were also a bunch of other nice people too !! like these guys that helped me while i was trying to go down the stairs despite the fact that i was terrified of heights [those stairs are fuckin STEEP by the way] . even the omega mart employees were really friendly and didn’t mind my small talk and chatter [daikon confirmed to support trans rights !! i wish i adopted one grahhh] . even the uber driver who took us back to the hotel was really nice .

so far , a good trip . i’ll def make more blog posts abt this when i get around to it . just a little bit of late night journaling :]

Im SO FUCKING SICK AND ANGRY AND TIRED OF SHITTY LIVE ACTION REMAKES ESPECIALLY for shit like stop motion, which is an entire beautiful painstakingly time consuming artform in of in itself. and theyre remaking it just to earn some money. Gonna make it more bland and take away the charm just because its “a popular thing we own that’ll make money because idiots will watch anything”.

Live action remakes piss me off because it feels like they never truly understand the charm of whatever they were remaking, and then they fail to create anything close to it. Theres also the point that Often times, animated films are animated for a reason. Because the story is suited for animation, animation can help every frame look artistic and beautiful and contribute to the stories and themes, ect…. live action can be good but disney doesnt put in the effort to make their live action films artistic. Plus many of the effects and cgi will look very outdated in a decade when animated works still hold up over time due to the stylization and artistic nature. The live action remakes are also very forgettable- none of them have left as great an impact as the originals and I often forget which films have had remakes already.

First of all: The nightmare before christmas has a wonderfully stylized aesthetic, all the characters are sculpted in a stylized spooky way thats full of character, and the worlds are very well crafted and theres so much visual stylistic contrast between the halloween and christmas worlds (most of my praise is for henry selick and the animators rather than tim burton btw. Since tim burton came up with the idea and then fucked off and wasnt even involved in the film at all. Tangential comment but wanted to give credit when i can since i feel like he always gets the credit for this movie) Do you really fucking think disney is going to take the effort to replicate those aesthetics well in a live action film. Do You REALLY Think It Would Have As Much As A Visual Impact As The Stop Motion Film?

Second: Nightmare before christmas literally takes place in a world full of monsters 😭 meaning animation is one of the BEST mediums that could be suited for it because monsters arent real and animation is for creating worlds that can’t exist in real life. IF YOU DO IT IN LIVE ACTION ITS NOT GOING TO WORK. Practical effect monsters can look cool but its fucking disney and god knows its just gonna be all cgi because cgi animators aren’t currently unionized to my knowledge and they can fucking take advantage of them to make themselves more money. Im also sick of them doing mostly cgi animated shit and calling it live action like they did with the insulting lion king shit. (no disrespect to cgi or cgi animators, just doing their jobs. But god knows big movie companies do not respect the medium and do it as cheaply as they can)

Because all the blond pretty boys who are sweet and nice and loyal don’t get happy endings. I repeat, Team Xander Carrow and Team Nicholas “Nick” Davis. Grahhh. Now, Cassia gets sent to an Aberration camp with more girls, because there are small towns where male Aberrations are sent to be killed by the Society. Cassia finds out that Ky had been there, but he’d run away strategically during another attack, taking Eli, a young boy who reminded him of Cassia’s little brother, and Vick, the man with natural-born leadership. Cassia decides to hunt down Ky with her new-found friend Indie. They search for days, in which every paragraph from Cassia is spent mooning and pining over Ky. She never stops thinking about him. She keeps thinking about his lips and his eyes and their memories and there’s a certain point where I get sick of hearing about Ky so much that I skip to his perspective just to avoid Cassia. Ky’s perspective was actually pretty fun. I felt like I got to see another version of him, one that wasn’t in rose-colored glasses by Cassia. Not only that, I liked Eli and Vick. Vick was a romantic and missed his girlfriend Laney, who was an Anomaly. Eli was a young boy who seemed to like picture books and painting and being creative, but one who was also steadfast in his morals and admired Ky and Vick. I liked seeing them travel. It was a breath of fresh air from Cassia’s perspective, where she would just keep walking and running and pining for Ky and pining for Xander and wondering how he’s doing. Seriously. This girl has a life. She doesn’t need to revolve around two boys. Would’ve loved it if Condie had done the same thing with Cassia as she did Ky, and let her think more about how she’s going to survive and what she’s going to do and her family, her survival instincts, her surroundings, just ANYTHING BUT KY AT THIS POINT. PLEASE. You’re killing me over here, Condie.

Hello!!! I’m here to ask lore questions >:3c

About the future stares back specifically!!

First off, are human’s the only animals that evolved so severely, or will we see some really funky dogs?? If not are there at least funky dog’s in the world?

Though I don’t just mean the dog’s, I’m just using them as a placeholder for animals in general. Like what other animals have went and crazy evolved vs which animals haven’t really changed that much (I assume animals like birds haven’t changed too much I’ll be honest, maybe more water birds evolved or something) and which animals went extinct? (Not a whole list obviously as there’s billions of different species, but maybe the ones that would shock us? I.E. “oh no dogs did actually go extinct”)

We’ve seen a lot of descriptions on buildings being all wrecked, but how much has nature truly reclaimed it? Does it still need some time? I ask this because I don’t remember seeing a lot of animals being described as nesting in the many buildings we visit- mostly just the fish when we’re underwater. But correct me if I’m wrong! My memory is hazy.

Will we get to see how Moon and Sun react to the various types of animals they may have only seen in picture books?

And if animals, domestic animals especially, have evolved- are they still domesticated? Do some human constructs use them for work? Or are they all mostly feral again? Dangerous even??

we will indeed see some funky silly evolved animals! most species of animals stayed relatively the same besides becoming a bit more adjusted to a primarily water based diet! though their evolution was much more "standard" and gradual as opposed to humans who went absolutely WILD with the evolution xDDD

extinct animals.... extinct animals.... hmmmm! most of the extinct animals are ones that required specific temperature conditions to thrive, such as those that relied on drastic season changes! the rising temperatures and sea levels practically shot the potential for freezing cold winters out of the window xD some wild extinct animals off the top of my head are penguins and bears, all variants! though the latter is probably not a surprise considering thats actually canon as of security breach hahaha

id say nature has reclaimed about... 60% of it! fish took to living in the building ruins super quickly, but land animals are still getting there! cities are big and the ruins dont have a lot of food! mostly prey animals such as rabbits and birds live in the ruins right now, and even then those are in the more overgrown ruins or on the ruins close to forests!

we definitely WILL see sun and moon reacting to various species of animals! i have a LOT planned hehehe >:3c

most of the domesticated animals, particularly the ones that can live just fine without humans (such as some species of cats and dogs) have evolved back to a much more "natural" and "feral" state. specific breeds that might be familiar to us are hard to distinguish as they've kind of gone back to looking like their non-domesticated ancestors (i.e. wildcats and wolves) but they've not fully evolved back to the same things as they started out as!

there are only a few human settlements that still have somewhat domesticated animals, with the majority just having dogs for working and such! and even then, those dogs are more on a "we're only sticking around because you feed us" instead of true domestication xD a very very very small amount of settlements have horses! depends on the location! horses are basically the same, wild or otherwise hahaha

13.) Your dream place to visit?

Honestly would probably say Japan. The culture is really fascinating there, as well as the things that are from there (Nintendo and other games- most physical games are cheaper over there). I feel like that's such a generic answer though. Also, some artists release editions of CDs with tracks exclusive to Japan with bonus ones ONLY there on those editions. Sometimes never formally released as a main part of an album.

22.) Best memory you could think of?

I think what comes to mind really is something that defined who I was as a person, and that is my first experience with fanfiction.

In 5th grade I had this deep hyperfixation with 2012 TMNT. ABSOLUTELY was in love with it, and lucky for me a few of my friends at the time also liked it too.

We would all talk about the show together, and I mean I even used to draw them- I was super good at it too?? Which is crazy because I'm horrible at drawing. But basically, I had this spiral green notebook and inside of it I wrote an entire story by hand- Front to back, cover to cover. I don't even remember what it was about, but I had written on the front something- the title? And the story was about TMNT. I know it involved Donnie and April, but the story doesn't stop there.

Because they all read it and was so SO into it that they told me to write more, and I did. I did write another one. That one I know was called Nightmares. Forget what it was about, but basically the green story got so infamous in my class that EVERYONE wanted to read it.

AND I MEAN EVERYONE!!

They would ask like if it was available like it was a mf library book. I was 9-10 years old. If only I could have those notebooks again, they got destroyed in my mom's basement when it flooded several years back. (But it's okay because the memory still exists.)

Anyway, I wrote fanfiction before I even knew what fanfiction was. That's it lmao. :)

(Rena jumps out of bed and runs to the door.)

(She struggles with the doorknob, but it's still locked.)

Rena: It’s no good, Claude! It won’t open! 

Claude: Rena! You’re really in there?! 

Rena: Yes! But the door…! 

Claude: Got it! Alright then, Rena, back away from the door! 

Rena: Eh? Claude?

Claude: Just do it! Quickly!

(Rena steps back from the door and suddenly Claude bursts through with a clatter.)

Claude: Rena…! Are you alright?

Claude: A girl showed me the way. Tia was her name… Huh? She’s gone!

Claude: ...This is weird.

Rena: Listen to me, Claude--

Claude: Hold it!

(They slow down, then come to a stop.)

Rena: Huh? 

Claude: There’s a door there. Let’s try it.

(They approach the door and it creaks as they push it open. They enter a large room where their voices echo.)

Claude: This is a pretty spacious area, isn’t it. 

Rena: Yeah, this is…

Midnight King: This is my castle. I don’t recall inviting you here, boy. 

Claude: *gasps* You’re the Midnight King! 

Midnight King: Hmph… Hah!!

(There's a jingle as the Midnight King gets ready to attack.)

Claude: Rena! Stay back! 

(Claude shoves Rena out of the way and she hits the wall.)

Rena: Ah! Claude! 

(Claude blocks the Midnight King's attack and they struggle.)

Midnight King: Hmm, you do have a small amount of ability. But it’s not enough…! Hah!

(He shoves hard against Claude, causing Claude to fall back.)

Claude: Gah!!

Midnight King: What can someone with so little power ever hope to defend properly?! Hngah!!

(The Midnight King continues to swing at Claude, though Claude struggles to keep up, he manages to block him each time.)

Midnight King: The world is full of misfortune. If she remains here, I can use my strength to protect her. Why would you try to interfere with that?! 

Claude: I’m going to be the one to protect Rena for as long as we’re traveling together! That’s why!

Rena: Claude! 

Midnight King: Are you even capable of such a thing?! HRAH!! 

(The Midnight King attacks again and this time Claude barely holds on when their blades make contact.)

Claude: Hngh! ...Hah! ….Grahhh!! 

Midnight King: Fool. 

Claude: What about you? What’re you so afraid of?! 

Midnight King: What?

Claude: Shut away in your castle, refusing to go outside… Is that what you think it means to protect someone?! Because you’re wrong! 

Midnight King: SILENCE!! 

(He attacks again, and Claude takes a hit, gasping from the blow.)

Midnight King: Me, afraid? Ludicrous! 

Rena: STOP!!

Midnight King: HRAH!!

(The Midnight King strikes again and Claude is struck directly. Claude screams in pain.)

Rena: NO!! CLAUDE!! 

Claude: *struggling* I’m alright… Rena… Don’t worry about me. 

Midnight King: *chuckling* Putting up a strong front, are we? In that case, why don’t you show me how strong you really are? Hahahaha!

(There's a jingle as the Midnight King's eye starts to power up.)

Rena: The Midnight King’s right eye…! 

Claude: It’s glowing…

(Suddenly the Midnight King's power grasps at Claude, trying to crush him.)

Claude: Gwahhhh!! 

Midnight King: What’s wrong? Can you not even fight against a power level as low as this? HUAHHHH!! 

Claude: Huah...WAHHHHHH!!! 

Midnight King: So, it seems that your attempt at fighting is naught but empty claims. 

(Rena cries out and strikes hard at the Midnight King.)

Rena: Just stop…

Midnight King: What are you doing? You dare swing your fists at me? 

Rena: I’m sorry. I can’t stay with you. I’m going with Claude. 

Midnight King: Utterly laughable! 

(The Midnight King strikes at Rena and she falls back.)

Rena: Arghhh!!

Claude: Renaaaa…!! 

Midnight King: Hah… So you can still speak, can you? It would seem that you’re stubborn, if nothing else. 

(The Midnight King's power continues its attack on Claude.)

Claude: Nn...GAHHHHH!! 

Midnight King: Hmph, arrogant boy. Intolerable. 

Rena: Claude…! It’s no good! I can’t stand up!

Claude: ...A-ahhhh!!

Midnight King: Let’s put an end to this charade, shall we? 

Rena: No… Nooooo!!

(There's a wavering chime and Tia appears to Rena once again.)

Tia: Your strong desire to protect someone you care about…

Rena: Tia…

Tia: Those powerful feelings can give you strength.

Rena: Powerful… feelings…

Tia: Mr. Scarecrow isn’t able to hear my voice anymore. That’s why I need your help. Both of you! 

Claude: Rena!!

Rena: Claude… Claude! Claudeeeee!! 

Claude: Renaaaaa!! 

(There's a shing as Claude's sword powers up.)

Rena: Claude’s sword is… glowing!

(Claude gasps for air, finally starting to break free of the Midnight King's hold.)

Midnight King: What?! My powers are... being suppressed! ...GrahhHHHH!! Impossible! How can I be overpowered by the likes of you…?

Claude: ….NGAHHHH!! 

(There's a release of energy, and the Midnight King's power that's surrounding Claude starts to crack audibly.)

Midnight King: DOHWAH!! 

Claude: I’m not doing this alone!

Midnight King: What’s that?! 

Rena: Claude…!

Claude: Rena… everything’s gonna be ok. 

(The crackling noise fades off as the Midnight King's power weakens.)

Midnight King: Curse you… How could someone like you possibly…

Claude: Midnight King!

(Claude takes the opportunity to attack and runs for him.)

Tia: Please, wake Mr. Scarecrow from his nightmare! 

Claude: Midnight King!! 

Midnight King: I’m…!!

Claude: YAHHHHHHH!!

(Claude slashes at the Midnight King, defeating him. There's a jingle, then the bell shatters.)

Tia: Thank you

Claude: *panting* Rena…!

Rena: Claude! ...Ngh!

(Claude runs over to check on Rena.)

Claude: Are you alright, Rena? Why would you do something so reckless? 

Rena: I don’t know. I thought you were in danger, so my body just acted on its own.

(There's a rumbling noise.)

Rena: …! The castle…!

Claude: The castle is crumbling!

Procedure - HOUSTON X TRANS-MASC! READER

His footsteps echoed down the somewhat busy hall as he paced back and forth, one hand to his mouth as he chewed desperately on his nails whilst the other was behind his back, his fist clenched as he used every fiber of his being to not break down into full panic.

Never in Houston’s life would he come to face this moment, and even though it was one of many steps for your journey, he still was nervous anyhow. What if something goes wrong during the procedure? What if you don’t make it off the table? There were so many possibilities running through his head, it was hard to focus on something less terrifying.

He knew you were in the hands of professionals, and he knew that you were well prepared for this day both mentally and physically, but why was he so scared regardless? What seemed like forever of terror, he finally snapped out of it when someone was calling for his attention.

Snapping his head towards the source, Houston found himself standing across from a nurse, who had a calm smile on her face as she said:

“[Y/N] is finished with his surgery if you would like to see him no-“

“YES!” He paused for a moment, his cheeks tinged pink in em embarrassment as he coughed into his hand and repeated in a calmer manner, “Y-yes, I’d like to see him now please.”

It wasn't long before he found himself standing at the doorway of your room, seeing you staring blankly at your IV, and he could feel the waterworks starting to run. He was just so relieved that you were okay.

He did his best to keep a calm composure as he walked up to you, attempting to be gentle as he placed his hand on yours. His heart fluttered as your groggy eyes met his formerly-worried ones.

"Hey..." You mumbled, flashing him a warm yet tired smile. You still definitely were under a few effects of the anesthesia, but that didn't stop you from lightening the mood in the room. "Did...did I make it...? Did it work?"

"Y-yeah...it did." Houston nodded, watching as you looked down at your chest, your smile starting to widen as you brought your hands towards the aforementioned area.

"Th- I- It's gone..." You were starting to cry as your brain started to connect the dots. "They're gone I- I feel so- so light..."

Houston nodded, leaning down to kiss your tears away softly. Though they were tears of joy, he didn't want you wasting your energy like this. You two still had a long trip back to the safe house.

"Shh, don't cry, my lovebug. I don't want you to be too tired before we get home, okay?" He hummed, pressing another kiss to your cheek, smiling as you nodded gently. Houston was relieved you made it through, and he was most certainly excited knowing that you made it another step into your journey.

Sometimes old wips grab you and shake you until they're done which is Really good for efficiency (monachopsis 3 1.0 was 13k words written in a single 12h stretch! Wish I could do that on command!!!) but god imagine being able to start something and then finish it without taking fifty detours
