I like L being a Funny Foreigner type because I think his relationship with Light would be just that much more interesting. Imagine L bringing Light an umbrella on a rainy day at university and only being kind of aware of the implications of two people walking under an umbrella while Light is internally going mad because he is realizing he has a thing for this weirdo. Picture L trying to pull out the British Pinkie while drinking from a yunomi and Light trying not to bark out loud with laughter. Dig the image of L replacing the mikan on top of the kagami-mochi with a chocolate orange. Think of L Lawliet eating all the chitose ame his and Light's child gets on Shichi-Go-San.
#lawlight#light yagami#l lawliet#I don't think he would be entirely unaware of the customs just that he doesn't seem the type to care or have a connection to them#He does the same to British customs he simply does not gaf#He is still part Japanese in this scenario he is always part Japanese in my scenarios#I just don't view him as someone who gets attached or assigns much meaning to any of the customs of the cultures he belongs to#I say this as someone who comes from a very not white culture

『01』 呪術廻戦: jujutsu kaisen recs
五条悟: gojo satoru
i know you still think about the times we had by @saetoru
satoru will always comes when you call him, he just never thought you’d stop calling. notes: satoru is so desperate and pathetic here it is just delicious; has the right amount of angst to cause tension but a good ending to soothe my poor heart; traditional rich boy and disapproving mother/father scenario but implemented relatively well; miscommunication and feelings of inadequacy; reader realizing the extent to which satoru loves them
pretty eyes by @quirklessidiot
in which the right eye is mine and the left eye is yours and when we meet for the first time, you see your own eyes staring back at you. notes: takes tragic star-crossed lovers to a whole new level; riddled with parallels and symbolism; idea of illness and loving someone at their worst; right person, wrong time at its finest; fate being unnecessarily cruel; surprising moments of humor
minazuki by @quirklessidiot
In which Y/N L/N is placed under a union she has no choice but to partake for the sake of her survival. notes: this series needs to be scientifically studied; it is just that good; halfway in and i fell in love with the reader instead of gojo; strong and somewhat morally grey characters; dark themes around femininity in a patriarchal society but concept was executed flawlessly
21: only by @tenjiiku
“What do you want, Satoru?” You do not use his last name or any honorific to address him despite his age. He was older than you by a few years — but certainly did not act the part — so you do not think he deserves your respect. Your host father told you he does — something about his being from a prominent private school as an educator, which you cannot possibly fathom being the truth — but only in front of you is Satoru Gojo an inane, odd man with a need for clean, dry-cleaned clothes that, for some strange reason he has conjectured in his equally baffling mind, that only you can provide. He smiles at you, placing his cheek in his hand. “You.” notes: this fic embodies the duality between gojo and satoru; he is easy-going until he isn’t and you realize he actually has a considerable amount of depth; the plot twist did it for me; satoru being a loud-mouthed tease but secretly harboring feelings
soulswap by @orphxus (impxria)
this is where the evening splits in half, love or death. grab an end, pull hard, & make a wish. notes: short but realistically describes everything wrong with jujutsu society; poetic voice; gojo being serious for once; disillusionment and tragic hero archetype; being the strongest yet being unable to save anybody; geto would read this fic and feel seen
両面宿儺: ryomen sukuna
nocuous by @quirklessidiot
“It’s ironic, isn’t it? I knew how this was going to end but I’m still terribly hurt by it.” notes: the heian era setting is so complex and established even through dialogue and subtle description; reader strikes me as older and able to deal with sukuna’s chaotic nature; sukuna being an absolute menace is sending me; tragic angst but almost didn’t notice it due to how beautifully the images are presented
avīci by @rotpeach
Several years ago, Satoru Gojo was involved in the exorcism of a uniquely stubborn curse. The official report states that one of Ryomen Sukuna's fingers was recovered from the scene, and nothing else. Only the two of you know the truth. notes: gore, gore, and even more gore; boy was this fic a wild ride; imagine a work that condenses the ugliest and most revolting parts of human nature yet presents them so elegantly you start questioning the blurred lines of morality; cannibalism, violence, and love triangles; japanese mythology & folklore; heian period references; cursed spirit reader tries to grapple with the idea of self after being created for the sole purpose of serving others; themes of existentialism, identity crisis, obsession

too many beds || ft. gojo satoru x reader
title is self-explanatory
word count: 1.8k
cw: canon compliant, implied fwb, kissing, suggestive & implied sex, crack treated seriously, fluff, just written for fun honestly
There is no reason that you should be stuck in the Japanese countryside in the middle of the night. You’d planned for this trip, as you do for everything. You had plenty of time, and for the worst case scenario you had checked out nearby hotels you could reach.
The one thing you hadn’t accounted for enough was, of course, Satoru Gojo.
Which means you have no one to blame but yourself because, by now, you should know that that man will not let himself be part of any of your thoughtfully prepared plans. It also means that you’re now following him up the stairs to a tiny inn, lips pressed tightly together as you’re doing your very best to remain calm. It doesn’t help that Gojo looks so pleased with himself, with a little spring to his step as he slides open the door to the inn.
The very old woman who’s sitting behind the counter looks startled, seeing him come in, eyes darting towards his white hair and the bandages that cover half his face, and you pray the ground would open under your feet.
Well, Gojo would catch you anyway, if that did happen.
Ugh.
“Hello ma’am,” he says, leaning on the counter and shooting her his best, brightest smile. “My wife here and I have tragically gotten ourselves lost in this beautiful region of yours.” He elbows you when you choke at the word ‘wife’. “We know it’s quite late, but we were hoping you’d have a room for us.”
“Or two,” you pipe up, and he pouts at you.
“Ah, darling, don’t tell me you’re still mad at me for misreading the map?”
You glare at him, refusing to play his game, but he wraps an arm around your waist to pull you against his chest, and even if you are mad at him, even if you know better, his antics always, always get to you.
“It’s fine,” you mumble finally, knowing that even if you added a biting ‘honey’ at the end of the sentence it would only delight him more.
“Um,” the old woman says, looking up at the both of you with knitted eyebrows behind her round glasses, “I’m very sorry, but I’m afraid we don’t have any rooms left.”
“Oh,” Gojo says, turning to face her. “None at all? We’ll make sure to take as little space as possible, you have my word.” Then he leans closer to add, “and I assure you, I pay very well.”
“Well,” the woman considers slowly, “we might have something, but…”
“Amazing! We’ll take it. Don’t worry if it’s the size of closet, I’m sure we’ll make do!”
You roll your eyes, but as she gets up slowly and grabs a key from behind the counter and he turns around to give you a triumphant grin, you still follow.
And man were you right to do that.
Because the way he freezes when she opens the door to a twenty-beds dormitory is absolutely priceless. Nothing could have made up for that — best thing you’ve seen all year, probably.
The twin-sized beds are lined up on either side of the room, facing each other in perfect symmetry, and you have to bite your lip not to laugh immediately. Not only is this the exact opposite of what he was hoping for, you’re pretty sure these beds are too small for him. Oh, this is so good. You’ll need to sneak a picture of him with his feet sticking out for Nanami.
“There you are,” the old woman says, fidgeting with her keys. “I know it’s not ideal for youth like you, but I’m afraid that’s all I have left.”
“Er,” Gojo says, rendered speechless for maybe the first time since you’ve met him. “Are you sure you don’t—”
“Oh, darling, we really cannot look a gift horse in the mouse,” you chime, as sweet as you can manage, putting a hand on his shoulder. “Thank you so much, ma’am, this is absolutely perfect. You must be our guardian angel, because without you we’d be left to sleep in our car!”
A light pink dusts the woman cheekbones, but she scoffs and waves your thanks away with a gesture of her hand.
“That was nothing, that was nothing,” she says under her breath. “I hope you’ll be comfortable here. I’ll make you breakfast in the morning, yes?”
“Sure, we’d be so thankful for that,” you hum, since Gojo still hasn’t gotten his words back.
“You’re an evil, evil person,” he comments once she’s left the room.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you tell him, sounding way too cheerful for his taste, as you drop your bags in front of one of the beds. “You’re the one who found us this little gem of a place. Thank you for that, babe.”
He lets out a groan as you fall on the bed you’ve chosen, and he watches how your feet almost reach the end of it.
Yeah, he’s not sleeping in that.
You push yourself back on your elbows when you hear him ruffling around the room.
“What are you— Gojo!”
“Now we’re talking,” he grins as he throws two mattresses in the space between the beds, then two more, for good measure.
“What do you think you’re doing?” you hiss at him, glancing at the door to make sure your hostess won’t barge in on him in his bizarre rearranging of the room.
“I’m sure someone as smart as you can figure it out,” he answers as four blankets land on the mattresses, followed by the pillows.
Yes. And you could also figure out how to murder him, if given enough time and enough of reason.
“You’re not going to sleep there, are you?”
He turns to face you, with the cockiest expression known to man — something he excels at, as you must regretfully admit.
“No, we’re going to sleep here.”
“I’ll take the bed, thank you very much,” you deadpan. “It would be rude not to use what’s been prepared for us.”
“Aw,” he teases, walking towards you until you’re right in front of him, and he puts his thumb under your chin to gently tilt your face up. “Come on, you can’t be that mad at me. What would you be doing if we were back in Tokyo anyways? Grading papers?”
He leans forward and even if you are mad, you don’t do anything to push him away when he presses a hot kiss against your jaw.
“We’re supposed to help each other blow off steam, aren’t we?” he asks, breath warm against your skin.
That’s true. It’s what your relationship was supposed to be, strictly about relief, even if it has since very obviously devolved into something that neither of you are willing to address. You let him make his way down your jaw, to your neck, as he wraps an arm tightly around your waist, pressing your body against his.
“I’m not going to forgive you that easily,” you mumble, and it would be a lot more believable if your hand wasn’t already in his hair.
Between two kisses, he lets out a soft laugh, but doesn’t answer you. Instead, he treacherously pushes his thigh between your legs, and keeps a hand on the small of your back to make sure he has you right where he wants you.
Not that you’re going anywhere. It’s not every day you get to have his undivided attention, not every day the two of you get time, instead of fifteen minutes between two classes or before he’s shipped off wherever by the higher-ups. On the rare occasions when you get to spend a night together, you wake up alone more often than not, learning where he’s gone through a note, if he’s left one, or through Yaga, if he didn’t get the time.
So, really, is there this much harm in enjoying what you have…?
He pulls away from your neck, one of his hands shooting up to trace the sensitive skin, as he admires his own work.
“You’re going to have to cover that up,” he says, not sounding sorry at all, “or the students are going to be asking questions.”
Ugh. You’ll deal with that in the morning, like you’ll deal with the fallout of all the other obligations you’re not fulfilling by being here with him. Instead, you grab the collar of his jacket, and pull him down against your mouth.
You get to enjoy a small whimper of surprise, one you receive as a badge of honor — it’s not everyone that can catch the great Satoru Gojo off-guard. It only lasts a second then, and then his grip tightens on your waist, bringing you closer as he flexes his thigh so it rubs against your core just right. You’re about to abandon yourself wholly into the kiss, because what point is there in pretending when your body is molding itself into his so perfectly, when your hips are already rocking back and forth into him, when your lips are parting to welcome his tongue, when you realize you’re losing your balance.
A second later, you’re both landing exactly where he’d meant to get you all along.
On the damn mattresses he’s gathered on the floor.
Above you, with one hand next to your head so that his body doesn’t crush yours, he has the nerve to smile.
“See, it wasn’t such a bad idea after all,” he says as he reaches up to get rid of the bandages. There’s his usual nonchalance in his tone, but it’s undercut by a certain urgency, which you think has something to do with the fact that you feel how hard he is against your thigh right now.
Even if there wasn’t, you see how wide his pupils are when the bandages fall. By now, you know him well enough to be aware that he only removes them when he’s truly riled up and wants to see all of you.
“Fine,” you relent, “I’ll stay here, but on two conditions.”
He tilts his head to the side, amused. You both know that you’ve already given in anyway, but he’ll let you pretend that you still get to make the calls.
“What are they?”
“Number one, you’re not going to let that sweet old lady walk in on us here in the morning. I don’t care if you wake me up at dawn, she’s not seeing that mess or— or anything else when she walks in here.”
He laughs. He wouldn’t care, that’s for sure, but it’s kinda sweet that you would.
“Done. What’s number two?”
Your cheeks burn, but you refuse to avert your eyes. Instead, you stare directly in his.
“Make this worth my while.”
His eyes widen, and for a second his smile falls as he just stares at you, all sweet and bashful under him, for him. When the smile reappears, it’s hungry and wolfish.
“Oh, trust me. I’m planning on it.”
hope you enjoyed this silly little thing lol. i want to write a 'there was only one bed' piece for nanami, but this trope was too much fun with gojo, sooo, there you have it! please reblog and comment my work to support me and let me know if you'd like to see more of it! i appreciate any and all feedback, and comments are what keeps me motivated and writing

Turn 7 Nightamres
Scenario: Y/N has a serious crash that sends immediate flashback of Jules to Charles.
My favourite track has always been Suzuka but I think that has something to do with the fact that I love Japan itself and as I spent my childhood racing career being endorsed by Honda I spent a lot of time in Japan and surrounded by Japanese culture so I guess I've just become accustomed to it.
There is only light rain falling on track so my car is fitted with slick tyres which will either be a massive mistake or a massive success depending on how certain parts of the track are.
“Are you ready?” Charles says snapping me out of my pre race thoughts.
Despite racing for Ferrari he doesn't seem to mind standing under my bright orange McLaren umbrella that the team have given me for no reason.
“As ready as I could be I guess and you?”
“Ready as always”
Everyone thought me and Charles dating would never last long but 3 years on we are still going strong despite everything we have been through. My engineer comes over and tells me I have to get in my car so I say goodbye to Charles and wish him luck.
I'm starting P11 today as I was the fastest in quarrying yesterday but had a 10 place grid penalty for replacing something on my car. I have the home hero Yuki Tsunoda next to me on P10 and we give each other a little wave.
Charles is on pole today so he's quite a way in front of me, it's probably the furthest we have been from each other both in the race and in person in 3 years. We have basically been joined at the hip since we first met and started dating.
The usual feeling of adrenaline kicks in the second the 5 lights go out and it eradicates any sense of nerves I was feeling less than 2 seconds ago.
The first laps are going well and I have made up 2 places, and I now have Kevin behind me and he's getting really close and he accidentally or purposefully hits my rear and the next thing I hear my engineer say is:
“Puncture. Box, Box.”
Thankfully it happens right next to the pit entry so I dive into the pits and get a fresh set of tyres and go back out on track. I emerge back in P16 in front of Pierre and get to work again. But the rain is increasing more and more by the second.
I push the car well beyond its limits to make up some places and I manage to get up to P12 by lap 23 but the rain is increasing, my trick has been not putting my foot on the brake at all really until the last millisecond.
I approach turn 7 at 300kph when the typical approach to turn 7 is 280 Kph and I don't realise how much the racing line has become saturated with water and the next thing I know as I'm trying to decelerate I'm seeing the track from the air and that's where everything turns into darkness.
Charles POV:
“Red Flag. Red Flag. Delta positive.”
These words aren't much of a surprise as the track has been getting wet so I assume someone somewhere is stuck in the gravel trap.
“What's happened?” I ask.
“Y/N has had quite a big shunt in turn 7”
“What! Is he OK?”
“We are unsure his car his upside down and we haven't heard anything on the radio”
The second I hear that It floods my brain with memories of Jules. He crashed on the same track at the same corner in the same conditions.
“Charles please come into the pit lane and leave a 5 metre gap to the car in front”
“I'm not coming into the pit lane”
“Charles if you don't you will be fined and may be banned from participating in the restart”
“I don't care about that”
I arrive at turn 7 and I freeze. I see a bright orange McLaren upside down with parts of it scattered around. I turn off my car and sprint over.
I arrive just as the stewards and medical team are turning the car back on it's right side. I try to help but one of the stewards pushes me away. When the car is back on its right side I run over to the cockpit and lean in to try and get Y/N to respond, but his eyes are shut and his visor is shattered. I can see a small slither of crimson red blood falling by his eye.
The medic asks me to move out of the way and they begin to lift him from the car and place him on a stretcher. I jump in the back of the ambulance and immediately grab a hold of Y/N's hand and it's surprisingly warm despite the cold and wet conditions he had been racing in. They eventually pull off his helmet, as he has become a little more coherent. When the helmet comes off we can see he has a slight cut above his eyebrow where his visor snapped and scratched him but other than that he looks fine.
As we arrive at the medical centre he has started talking and is saying that he's fine and keeps on trying to move but it only results in him whining in agony.
“I'm fine you are all fussing over nothing” he says as the doctor attempts to take his blood pressure.
“Y/N we are going to take you to hospital for some scans to check for any internal injuries”
One of the doctors pulls me aside and tells me that he should be fine but as a precaution Y/N is going to have some scans. Meanwhile I tell the FIA I'm not interested in being at the restart and instead I'm going with Y/N. Ferrari didn't try and stop me because they knew nothing would stop me.
I feel relieved that he's fine and being his usual self, but I know he's still not out of the woods just yet.
I think it's safe to say me and turn 7 don't have the best history.

I squeezed my brain so much and I hope it doesn't disappoint
Am rewatching Atla and I love toph so you wrote about her before with Smoker but can you write one with the straw hats ( Sanji 💕 ) or Mihawk or Law or anybody or you can write with all of them 🏃♀️
So I have two scenarios ( blind male ) age 12
1- getting captured in sabaody to be sold and getting rescued
2- almost drowning and getting saved ( sanji )
Because no one will get hurt 🙏
🐼💕~
Lost Sight ( Sanji x male!blind!child!reader)
A/N heyyy 🐼 💕 So I actually already wrote a story on the auction house on sabaody with Rayleigh so I decided to write the second one and let me tell you your age request was perfect because it fits perfectly with the canon time, because Sanji was eight when he left germa 66 and in this case if he took an infant Dokucha with him 12 years later Sanji would be 19, Aka the canon age when he made his debut BAM so smart 🐼 💕
Reader is replaced by Dokucha which means reader in Japanese
Dokucha Backround in this story: When Sanji Left Germa 66 he took along with him his then infant brother with him to protect him from their cruel family and to ensure he would not turn out like them, especially knowing what kind of fate would await a blind Vinsmoke
Dividers by @/saradika
“Dokucha, be careful; the waves are high, so the ship is not very steady right now,” Sanji called, taking another puff from his cigarette, feeling the nicotine enter his system
“Don’t Worry Sanji! I know the Going Merry like the back of my hand!” the blind boy exclaimed in return
"Even if you know the ship well, it's the ocean that's unstable” he quipped back as smoke exhaled from his lips with gusto, filling the surrounding air with a thick cloud as he spoke
“Just be careful.”
He smiles, slowly approaching Sanji and hugging him
“I will”
Dokucha’s embrace was sudden and unexpected but was well-received. As he took another drag, Dokusha's grip tightened around him.
“Hey, Hey Sanji, can you teach me another recipe later? I promise to be more careful this time.”
The chef smiled gently at the boy as he released himself from the hug, still clutching tightly onto his cigarette
“All right, sure. But you'll have to be careful, okay? No more burning the kitchen down. And remember the Cardinal rule in this kitchen.”
“Don’t let Uncle Luffy Unsupervised, I know!”
“Exactly.” Sanji grinned as he flicked the remnants of his cigarette, turning his gaze to the horizon
“Now, let's try to make this day less eventful, huh?”
Dokucha grinned, taking hold of the ship’s walls to guide their way along their adventure; however, despite how Dokucha had memorized the Ship’s ins and outs, even he could not keep up with the ever-going destruction and fixing that occurred with the ship after every adventure. As such, he had no way of knowing that that part of the wall had recently been amended poorly; after receiving a cannonball, the crew did the quickest repair they could, and that was not always the best repair.
With just a little bit of weight, the repaired wall fell under the boy’s weight, taking him off balance and causing him to fall along with the wooden boards that previously covered the hole
“Sanji!” They cry as they fall
With no foothold or support to rely on, not even his kenbunshoku could help him, leaving the boy truly blind as the waves mercilessly crashed against him, sputtering the water out. The only thing they could do was to stay afloat
With all his available senses overwhelmed by the current danger, they were unaware of the sound of a splash nearby and someone taking hold of them; they were unaware of the screams for his name coming from a familiar voice
The cold water dulled Dokusha's senses, and he was caught entirely by surprise when he was suddenly yanked out of the ocean. His first instinct was to cling to anything he could touch, but he couldn't feel anything except the person who had pulled him up and his body, now shivering from the cold.
The shouts in the distance gradually became clearer, getting louder as they seemed to come closer.
“Dokucha! Dokucha! Get Chopper here now!”
“Sanji?”
“Yeah, it’s me, it’s okay.”
“I'm sorry. Are you okay?”
“You idiot, you were the one that fell; why are you asking me?”
“You had to jump in after me, even after you warned me to be careful.”
“Well, I wasn’t just going to let you drown, you dunce.”
“So mean.”
“So reckless.”
“I guess I just ‘lost sight’ of my way.”
The chef sighed, shaking his head before responding
"You’re an idiot, you know that?."
They chuckle at his brother, adrenaline still flowing through his body from the previous events
The chef can't hold in his laughter, smiling as well
"Good thing you have me around to take care of you."
“Yeah, it is,” he said, leaning closet to him and embracing him
So is it a cook? What are we thinking? Is it okay 🐼 💕?

Alright, since I'm at that episode, I'm gonna elaborate on my actual problem with Dark Sonic:
To be honest, I don't think there's anything really wrong with Sonic during the episode. He's angry his friends have been hurt by a villain, so he harnesses the power of the fake Emeralds (which he has a physical negative reaction to) and smashes said villain's testing robots to pieces.
I never really considered this a problem. Sonic can get angry, be antagonized, the SA2 Shadow fight in Green Forest springs to mind.
Plus, Secret Rings has Darkspine Sonic, which is about as close to Dark Sonic as it gets. Sharha just died, trading her life for his, he absorbs the Rage, Sadness and Hatred Rings and transforms.
Even after he leaves the transformation, he still seems pretty pissed at Erazor Djinn, with killing Sharha at the top of the list.
So, yeah. It's not 1:1 and I'm not claiming these are the same, X is obviously more exaggerated, but I don't really have a problem with the concept. We can talk about how Eggman comes in, tells Sonic he needs to be better and not let his emotions overwhelm him, but frankly I think that's more of an X!Eggman issue than the transformation itself.
No, my real problem is, and always has been, how the fandom interpreted it. That's it. I've read so many fics, seen so many posts about Sonic just "turning dark" when angry, as if any transformations have ever been purely emotion without an external power-source. (Super requires the Chaos Emeralds, Hyper the Super Emeralds, Darkspine was 3 of the World Rings, Werehog was Dark Gaia energy, Excalibur Sonic was the sacred swords, Wisp transformations needed the Wisps, Super Sonic 2 was Chaos Emeralds + Cyber energy....you get it.)
The way I've always saw it, is yes, Sonic is upset, but he also is being affected by the fake Emeralds.
This is the Discotek translation, I don't know enough Japanese to say how accurate it is, all I know know is "warui" means bad/sick depending on the sentence. An older translation (and the English dub) points to him feeling physically sick around them.
Far as I can tell, he's already reacting bad to these Emeralds on top of being antagonized, so he uses power that's at his disposal does what the villain wants: fuck up his shit.
If the fake Emeralds didn't exist, this transformation wouldn't have happened. Additionally, since X ended and the only fake Emerald in the games was blown up in SA2, it can't happen again. (Unless you write scenario where someone makes fake Emeralds, but that requires writing for the form instead of just slapping it in à la characters in IDW.)
Perhaps I'm being too hard on a lot of kids that never really interacted with the source material and just wanted to write Sonic fanfics. I've read so many that made it quite obvious that the author didn't know anything about Sonic besides he's fast and I'm not really out here trying to say Sonic shouldn't inspire people to create. Never said I hated reading those fics, I got a good deal of entertainment out of them. It's simply this misconception has stretched so far, it's like the original context has been entirely erased.
And that's the part of Dark Sonic that bothers me.
I've seen plenty of arguments for why the transformation was a poor choice and I don't entirely disagree with them. For me, I could take it or leave it. It was a one-off short transformation in an anime where Sonic pretends to be Star Trek for a season, it just exists to me.
Although, it's been awhile since I last saw discussion of Dark Sonic, as a whole it seemed to be a bigger thing in the early 2010s. Possibly because now we have more recent Sonic shows and movies, it's not just X being the latest thing anymore. I certainly don't read fics like I used to, so I'd be surprised if it is still as heavily used as it used to be. Maybe if I get some time, I'll look up some fics and find out.

Support differences of the Hoshidan siblings from the Original script vs the English localization
They say that in the Original Japanese version of Fates there are many changes that were different from what we got in the English localization. So I wanted to see for myself if that was true, however, I don’t know Japanese yet, I’m still starting. Very fortunately, I found a translation mod and this is the closest thing I could feel to the original.
And when I played it, I did not expect differences in the script and supports, they are not just mere translations or rewording. And the whole time I was like “WHY DID THEY REMOVE THAT?! It makes more sense and flavour for the story, and without it, there would be gaps in the story. But on the flip side there are things I like in the localization and funnily it added more flavour too.
Thus, I would like to share what I noticed with the support differences with the Hoshidan siblings in my Birthright run.Mostly the main theme of the supports are the same however the mood, feeling and tone would be changed if some lines are removed or changed, I notice the changes could affect Corrin/Kamui’s relationship with his siblings.
--Very long post ahead--
Note that I would use Corrin’s Japanese Hoshidan name, Kamui interchangeably for flavour. I would use Corrin for the EN while Kamui for the JP.
Let’s start with Hinoka, because I noticed a few differences.
Hinoka’s support’s seems to be the same in both version but in the localization it feels worded better since in EN she felt relieved and proud to be Corrin’s big sister but in JP she still feels guilty of what she did with Mikoto and doesn’t feel she deserves to be Kamui’s big sister. This is one of the few times I prefer the EN version, however this is one of my least favourite supports so I can’t impartially look at this.
For the rest of the siblings,it is way longer and I will go through every little detail I noticed.
Sakura and Kamui
C SUPPORT:
Besides some changes in the wordings and such, I could not notice major differences in tone or mood of the script that changes the flavour of the conversation even though the Japanese script seems to be longer.
B SUPPORT:
In the EN version, the conversation starts with Corrin asking Sakura questions right away about why she wanted to become a priestess, it’s more like an interview. However, in the JP version it is longer and feels like a conversation— Kamui starts by discussing a book on History and gods which was cut out in EN, here Kamui tries to connect with her anxious and awkward little sister.
This may be minor or not, and the localizations may not be translated word for word, but I noticed the differences between the portraits of the two versions. It seems that Kamui is more direct and Sakura is more anxious or uneasy in the EN ver than in the JP where Kamui is more patient and Sakura is calmer. We can also notice these portrait differences with other supports.
A SUPPORT:
This part is very noticeable, the EN version is so condensed than the Japanese version that it lost meaning than the original where it shows a lot why Sakura she is now— the causes of her anxiety and overthinking. The JP version expanded Sakura’s overthinking that shows her scenario of what-ifs, like if she was the one who was actually kidnapped, Big brother Kamui would be the one would be worried, and she really feels bad about Kamui’s kidnapping and fears Kamui would not be kind to her which this leads to her more anxiety. Kamui reassures his little sister Sakura that it’s all okay and he will always be there for her.
You can see that the EN is awfully shorter than JP. And JP Kamui’s words are more caring and worried while EN Corrin feels pity.
MY THOUGHTS:
As you saw,the EN version is awfully short and many parts were cut/condensed that it paints that Sakura is just very anxious and Corrin is direct with his words and looks at her with pity making her more anxious. Compared to the JP version, it gives full context and story why she’s so anxious, socially and mentally. It shows the whole story why she is an overthinker, and the whole reason why is scared of facing her lost sibling knowing she was originally planned to be taken according to rumours and she feels guilty to be not taken. I also like the flow of their conversation because it shows Kamui is trying to connect with Sakura and not scaring her too much with questions compared to the EN version. I especially love the last part of their A-support where Kamui says that he will protect her as a Big brother and never leave her precious little sister’s side. Most of all, I love the JP version because it made me appreciate Sakura a lot more because honestly when I first read the EN version it felt lacking.
The EN version is so short that I suspect: Do they have a word limit counter?
Takumi & Kamui
C SUPPORT:
In EN Corrin wants to connect to Takumi, but his response is hostile and they’re being sarcastic with each other due to Corrin’s background with Nohr. Corrin wants to learn archery to prove his loyalty and dedication to Hoshido, to gain trust and give him a chance to prove himself in battle his loyalty.
In JP, Kamui wants to connect with Takumi like in EN BUT because he wants to bond with him. Takumi isn’t fully trusting him but he is open to bond with Kamui unlike his reactions in EN. As Kamui didn’t grow up with Takumi, he didn't know what to talk about and it became awkward. As Kamui sees that Takumi is into archery, learning through him would be a good place to start bonding.
Comparing the two versions, you will see that EN’s theme is all about loyalty, while the JP version is about sibling bonding. [Skipped lines means they are exactly the same]
Like I said, EN Takumi is more sarcastic and hard on Corrin versus the JP version. Also take note of these closing lines of the JP version because it will appear again in their A-support and it’s worth mentioning.
B SUPPORT:
In this support, it shows Takumi teaching Corrin archery, then taking a break. When EN Corrin says that Takumi makes it look easy, he does not take this well and sees it as sarcasm and when talking about archery they both just brush it off as effortless. But in the JP,when Kamui expresses that archery is harder than it looks. JP Takumi gives his insights about the beauty and effort of archery which was cut out in EN. Kamui praises Takumi how amazing Takumi is and Takumi didn’t expect such praise that it caught him off guard other than the sarcastic remark in EN.
You can see how the EN version again condensed the JP script comparing the two. In short. The EN version shows Takumi doing it effortlessly while the JP version shows beauty and perfection in archery.
A SUPPORT:
At the end of the B support Corrin injured his hand and in this A support he still strives to learn archery despite his injuries.
In EN, Corrin says that Takumi is a strict but a good teacher and he hoped that Corrin was worth his time. Then Takumi admits that he is good but doubts him. This shows that he’s truly dedicated and loyal to Hoshido and wants to continue to train him.
But in JP, the whole time Kamui is genuinely excited to learn, you could tell he wants to bond with his little brother Takumi, and compliments him how amazing he is. And in turn, Takumi is liking Kamui and sees what a gentle and kind person he is and now sees him as a sibling and enjoying his company. This recognition makes Kamui very happy.
The major changes in themes you would notice is that in EN Corrin is doing it as an obligation/business to prove his loyalty and dedication. And in JP that Kamui wants to connect and know more about Takumi who once was hostile to him, it is a true sibling bonding and to have connection.
Remember those final lines in their C-support, it’s cute in A-support there’s a call back to that in the JP version: “Please treat me well, big brother Kamui”.
MY THOUGHTS:
Takumi and Kamui’s relationship is interesting because it had a rocky start. I always find their dynamic interesting and I am curious how their support would play out. When I first read the EN supports, it didn’t feel like they’re connecting, it felt more like a business relationship and just doing it to resolve things. When I read these supports in JP, I LOVE IT! It mending their relationship, it felt more meaningful than the EN version, and it felt like a genuine sibling bonding.
The whole time I was reading the JP version , I was like “WHYYYY???????!!”. Why the heck the localization team rewrote this from a nice bonding/connecting to just doing it to prove loyalty. In the original Takumi is more receptive and I love the final lines of Takumi, “please treat me well, Big Brother” because he also said that in C-support too, I love that call back it shows that Takumi has trust with Kamui as a sibling. The JP version shows Takumi’s passion and love for archery through expressing the beauty and striving for perfection. While EN Takumi is just reactive and too proud. Dammit localization team!
In short EN version made it about duty, dedication and loyalty vs JP version’s sibling bonding and connection.
Ryouma and Kamui
C SUPPORT:
In this support Kamui wanted to know about his Hoshidan siblings when he was taken away and wanted to connect. In JP Ryouma looks forward to talking and excited to connect with Kamui and he even has a gift that has a lot of meaning to him. It felt more sincere and warm . He is accommodating, and even tells Kamui that they, his siblings, have a good opinion on Kamui. However, EN Ryoma tells Corrin’s situation is just sad or unhappy and his conversation felt short, and he is too busy that they’ll talk in another time.
As you can see again that EN is shortened and condensed again than the original which loses the meaning and expression of desire of Ryouma to get close with Kamui.
B SUPPORT:
In this support Ryouma is describing his siblings, both versions felt the same but EN Ryoma is shown to be very busy again and when he talks about his siblings it’s brief and it seems that his mind is somewhere else. But in JP he is very eager to talk to Kamui and takes his time. You can see in the first part of this conversation he does not imply he is busy unlike in EN, and when talking about his siblings it felt more detailed. However it’s too long that I couldn’t add the screenshot here. The huge difference can be noticed in the last part of this support.
When Kamui feels left out from Ryouma’s stories, it feels more depressing with his reply in EN where he reiterates that his background is troubling and sad “Your story is troubling one”. In contrast to JP Ryouma, He comforts Kamui and is very thankful and happy that Kamui is back to them safely and he values his moments with Kamui — “I am grateful you treasure our moments together”.
Notice the contrasts with their portraits:
A SUPPORT:
Corrin felt left out and melancholic when Ryoma was talking about their siblings, in JP version the way he handle it that he is more caring, concerned and brotherly which makes Kamui very happy and comforted, which the conversation again is longer and meaningful than EN, which is short and condensed.
Little detail I noticed comparing the two: It felt out of place with the Ryoma shouting in this part which didn’t happen in the original version.
Later in the support, Corrin is given a ring from Ryoma and their siblings. In JP there's additional information, the ring is a prayer ring for self-defence particularly. Comparing the two it seems lines in the EN are condensed vs the original with Corrin’s reaction when given a ring. Also take note of the closing part of the JP version it says that link as siblings vs ties of EN.
Again, I noticed a little detail with the differences with the portraits:
“Happy to have you”, frown portrait lol
MY THOUGHTS:
The EN version seems to lean more about Corrin’s background and more of how sad his situation is while the JP version is more on sibling bonding and connection. The JP version is what I had expected of their supports,as the long lost sibling I am sure the eldest brother would be very hyped to connect with Corrin/Kamui, but in EN and it doesn’t feel that way and I even didn’t like their supports at first in EN as Ryoma felt a bit distant and it felt something was missing and now I found out that many was cut out from the original. Now I love their support more, especially that in JP that it felt more caring and there is brotherly bond and connection that was lost in the localization.
Also another thing I noticed, it seems JP Ryoma seems calmer and nicer than in EN, in the supports and in the main story. In EN it feels like he’s rash, tempered or temperamental. I have a conspiracy theory that the localization team is trying to do a character assassination attempt with Ryoma. Though I have no solid proof at the moment but if ever in the future when I am fluent with Japanese, I’ll do a deep dive into how they changed the characterization of Ryoma and the rest of the cast.
CONCLUSION:
I always thought that there would be few differences between JP vs EN but now see is that is not the case, there are many changes made for the international audience, both little to huge. I didn't even expect that they would change small details like portraits that would make subtle changes.
Is there a word count limit for the localizers?
As you can see time and time again, EN is way shorter than JP that results in meaning and sincerity gone, and warm interactions become cold. Cutting the script made it bad. Are they lazy?! Or were they rushed?
Most of all. Why am I fussing about these? About Corrin’s/Kamui’s relationship with the Hoshidan Siblings?
Because I was expecting that the siblings would be very welcoming to Corrin especially as a long lost sibling and eager to reconnect . I was so disappointed in the EN version that it seems that they aren’t much interested and Corrin doesn't feel welcome. It is upsetting especially that’s one of the reasons for choosing them and to be at their side and the whole theme of the plot is which family would you be with.
When I played the original/ JP version, albeit with translation mod, I am so happy to find that in the original JP version that they are warm, welcoming and want to connect with Kamui, and it feels like they have a genuine sibling bonding, making choosing them very worthwhile. It did improve my opinion of them and I love them more.
I have a hypothesis, why EN toned down the sibling bonding due to S supports. Probably it would be awkward with all that sibling talk, afterwards to marry them. Personally I really don’t like Corrin marrying the siblings, it ruined the story for me. I pretend that those S-supports never existed and that is why I didn’t include those in this write-up.
So does this mean I’m one of those “the Original is better” persons, NO. I’m more into good writing, it so happens most meaningful interactions are in the JP script. And to be fair with EN, there are things I like with the changes like Corrin’s supports with Hinoka, Rinka, which surprisingly feels better than the original.
I could go deeper if only I knew Japanese so that I could notice the nuances and subtleties which were lost in translation. For now I’ll make do with these translations and hope that the translations are accurate. And hopefully someday I could look back with this write-up and make improvements.
That’s all and THANK YOU!! Thank you for reading this long essay. This took me months to write and I truly appreciate you taking your time to read this. I hope it sees the Hoshidan siblings in a better light.

@lauretra replied with this and I thought it was interesting/worth discussing, so here you all go! I don't want to be the kind of person who just ignores things that don't fit my own narrative/preferences, so let's talk about it!
I had forgotten about this panel, and I checked the Japanese version just in case and Noko is indeed mentioned there, too. I appreciate you pointing it out, because it does change things slightly that she was mentioned so much later in the series as well.
I think the insight about setting characters up with names and keeping them in play in case he wants to use them later is very apt and accurate about his writing, and it's a great technique. You're very right about him using it before, continuing to have little mentions or reminders of a character who later becomes important.
My main argument against him still using Noko as Gon's love interest in the other scenarios is that because he disclosed this ending, to me that's a pretty strong signal he likely won't re-use any parts of it. From a writer's perspective, if I knew I was going to have a character marry another character in the end, and I needed to spill a rejected ending for some reason, I would definitely leave out any detail that I do plan to use later, and especially something as special as who the main character will ultimately end up with. Because you don't want your audience to reach the end and be like, "Oh, you already told us that... Huh... Why did you tell us this before it happened? I thought you rejected that?" It just goes against the conventional grain of storytelling, and, as unconventional as Togashi can be, this is more just like...common sense than something likely to be subverted.
Togashi seems to me like he's someone who places special priority on keeping his audience surprised (as well as keeping himself from getting bored), so I think that lowers the likelihood of him re-using things from a rejected ending that he made public even further.
But as usual with all of this, anything is possible. Maybe he has always planned to use Noko as Gon's love interest and still does. Maybe it was a thought he had but scrapped altogether and it's not part of the alternative scenarios. Maybe he has some other plan for Noko in mind later in the series, or maybe she'll just be an inconsequential background character forever. We can't know, but it's worth considering and thinking about.
As much as it's a little worrying, I appreciate you pointing it out! I hope my reply is at least a bit reassuring even if I can't provide any concrete answers of course.

hello! is it alright if i request nagi x reader headcanons about how he would kiss his s/o 🥺 or maybe a scenario for a first kiss, thank you so much! i know you're doing a lot so please let yourself rest too and take your time!
ETERNAL NORTHERN LIGHTS.
How he kisses you, how it all started, lips on lips.
ft. Rokuya Nagi x gn! reader.
cw/genre: fluff, mild angst, spoilers for part 5 of the story.
Hello, nonnie and thank you for requesting ! I’m so sorry this took forever… I hope you still like it <3
— Nagi is a romantic at heart.
— He’s all about charming his partner and sweeping them off their feet.
— We all know he leans a bit towards the… more dramatic side of things (in a good way, we love Nagi).
— And, naturally, that includes every kiss and affectionate gesture he shares with you.
— He just can’t give you any kiss. Each one has to be special in one way or another.
— So that means lots of cute dates, at locations he somehow has managed to find in the walks he takes (with the help of the little animals that follow him around and Iori, who always tags along for some reason – which we all know, really.)
— The result is unforgettable memories, idyllic sceneries, and your awestruck smiles reflected in the starry nights of your lover’s gaze.
— He always manages to surprise you in one way or another. Truly like a fairytale prince, having the perfect happily ever after with his lover.
— About how he kisses you, Nagi is sweet and gentle, prioritizing sensuality over frenzied passion.
— He is very in tune with others’ emotions, so he’s quick at picking up what you enjoy the most.
— But, to describe Nagi’s kisses is to open a book full of love poems, dedicated to a soulmate by starlight, in the afterglow of northern lights.
— An aftertaste of tenderness with hints of secrecy lingers when you two part, a mix of longing and warmth in his wake, making you lean in for more.
— And because what kind of gentleman denies a kiss from their pretty partner, he indulges you (and himself) in more.
— That is, at least until Mitsuki calls him to resume practicing.
— Nagi’s whining to his groupmate elicits a few chuckles from you, the scene not unlike the one from your first kiss.
♡
Perhaps you were overstepping here.
In the quite literal sense of the word. Coming to a whole other country just to bring your boyfriend back… Some might consider it extreme, others would think of it as a beautiful love story.
But the thing is, you were worried.
You are worried.
Just like that, one day, Nagi left Japan. Both you and his group mates only got a letter, addressed to both.
It didn’t feel right. It didn’t feel like him.
And what’s more, he hasn’t replied to any of your texts, nor has he picked up your calls.
This is unlike him.
So, knowing the rest of his team were headed to Northmeir to get him back, you couldn’t let this chance pass.
You are grateful to Takanashi productions for letting you tag along; a journey of this caliber all by yourself would certainly have been way more heavy on your heart.
—
As IDOLiSH7 prepare to shoot their new music video, you sigh.
Sitting on one of the benches of the royal palace’s chapel, you hope your partner shows up.
After all, the last time you saw him, he refused to speak in Japanese with you and Mitsuki, and the wound of his silence still lingers.
“Nervous, [Y/n]?” A certain orange haired boy asks you.
You lean back, looking up at him upside down.
“Kind of… Just… What if it goes like last time?…” You trail off, as you hang your head. “I just- I hope- I want him back, Mitsuki.”
The idol leans his arms on the bench, a melancholy smile on his lips, yet in his bright eyes lingers a spark of hope.
“I have a feeling we’ll get him back, you know.” Mitsu utters, looking up at the frescoes decorating the church’s ceiling. “He loves you, [Y/n]. The Nagi I know would never give up on you.”
With that, the clock strikes six.
“Well, it’s almost time to film my part.” Your friend announces. “Keep wishing for him, okay?”
You nod, your chin on your hand as you sit sideways on the bench.
Outside, the stars shine golden.
—
The clock strikes seven.
And you feel like the world is at an impasse.
It’s about time for Nagi to film his part.
You all came here for him, he should arrive soon.
Your gaze directs skywards, and the northern lights above the horizon seem a little closer.
“Is your prince running late to the ball, my dear?”
You turn around. And an horizon’s worth of wishes is mirrored in the night sky eyes you so adore.
The eyes that you had missed.
“Nagi?” You ask, breathless, hands reaching up to cup his cheeks, perhaps to check if he’s really tangible or just a mirage.
He places his own on top of yours, thumbs tracing soothing patterns over the back of your hands.
“I’m here, beautiful.” Are his words before his lips lock with yours for the first time.
Fire outlines a skyline made of snowy mountains, an explosion of aurora borealis like a rain of shooting stars; despite being so cold out here, your lover’s hands are so warm against your skin, his lips speaking the words unsaid in the last few weeks.
Perhaps this land was truly magical, after all; this is a love story, your love story.
And there couldn’t be a more perfect ending to your first chapter.
Or well, maybe it could, since a perky voice interrupts you two.
“Oi, Nagi! Come on, you’re up!” Mitsuki calls him, with a smile on his face, holding back tears.
You chuckle, squeezing your boyfriend’s hand one last time, leaving a kiss on the edge of his jawline, as he completes your favorite rainbow.

You know I interest with scenario human and bots or cons sharing in a human body.
I will pick sam (because he unlucky top of list and easy pick ) when sam shove Allspark into Megatron chest Allspark decide to put Megatron spark into Sam's body and they forced to sharing same body.
The funny part in this scenario that sam must listen Megatron ranting about how weak and fragile sam body is and really questioning how human can survive with wak body.
I think we need more that scenario in fanfic because that is very rare. I have one story with that scenario
(Quickl disclaimer, sorry if this response is messy I am currently having a migraine. Don’t worry though, I just took my migraine medication. Should kick in soon and they make me extremely eepy so I’m trying to race them LMFAO.)
Transformers does have interesting concepts of like consciousness, especially between robot and human. Like for example in Transformers Prime, Bumblebee goes into Megatron’s head, but a part of Megatron stays in Bumblebee because they didn’t pull out in time, (I am hilarious) and in Cyberverse there’s the whole “Windblade entering Bumblebee’s head” and stuff. (Why is it always Bumblebee goddamn) But these (in a way) make sense since, yeah, they’re robots. Hooking yourself up to something, or in these cases, somebody else, makes sense to cause consciousnesses to kind of “merge” or I guess just link? Be together? I don’t know how to say it properly.
And then…they decide that the same now works on humans as well? I don’t know if this means that human souls are like canon or something. Like I guess there may be some kind of electrical current connection between the human and robot in those cases (Sam putting the Allspark to Megatron’s spark / Spike being connected to a machine(?), transferring his consciousness to a mechanical body in gen1) but still. Humans aren’t a bunch of complex code in the way that a transformer is, (I’m not certain about that but I am just writing my thoughts) and this implies that this relates back to sparks and souls. So, are human souls canon in transformers? Maybe. And if so, it’s interesting that a spark and a human soul are so similar so that they can transfer between species, at least to a point, pretty successfully.
Like clearly, even if it’s not as deep as a consciousness transfer, humans and transformers can work together (literally). Most recent example being Mirage and Noah in the end of the movie when they merge, going all the way back to some of the older Japanese series (not gonna go into alla that rn).
And don’t even get me STARTED on the kind of connections they have in Earthspark with the Terrans. That rock is doing some crazy shit, and I don’t remember the lore of it. No I’m not looking it up right now.
And I mean, with the existence of Maximals and Predacons, there’s clearly proof that transformers can work together with organic matter at least somewhat.
I got so off topic ngl. Started going down theorising lane here for a second while we were talking about fanfics. This rabbit-hole goes so deep and I do not have the brains to figure it all out. But I agree, fanfics with this would be hilarious. Would read.
(I haven’t researched this at all and just took what information I could remember so excuse if any of this is crazy inaccurate or if answers to my questions already exist. Just thought this was a very interesting topic)

I keep having a reoccuring dream regarding me being part of some strange Mr. Beast style challenge heavily based off "Nasubi" (The Japanese man who was locked in his apartment for a year and was broadcast live 24/7 and did challenges for rewards). I will go into exruciating detail about this below. Long post
If anything the dream is conistant with it's setting and theme. It always starts with the frightening scenario in which I win a raffle (?) and then I am taken to ride in a bus/car blindfolded. When I arrive I am still blindfolded but I can hear the Mr. Beast-type figure talking into the cameras, presumably starting the video. In that moment I am usually afraid because I am unsure about what is going to happen next. Now, I presume that the second act of this dream series is mostly the result of my dream to have a place of my own. Because the challenge the Mr. Beast-type man imposes on me is.. to live in a cave for as long as possible. The reward increasing not by each day, week or even month. No, this guy is twisted. He is amping up the cash reward by each YEAR spent dwelling inside this cave.
Obviously, because this man is based off of the concept of Mr. Beast he isn't a cruel sicko mastermind. I vividly remember the details of this cave and will demonstrate a diagram that I drew in mspaint describing what the layout of this cave looked like.
As you can see, there is a lot going on here. I'll try to explain most of what you see right now. Firstly, food. From outside the cave, full meals would be dispensed through this vent-like tube onto a wooden table. They would be shrinkwrapped in plastic and highly nutritious of course. I would be getting my water from the bathing area from a spigot. For some odd reason I dont recall ever having a cup to drink out of so I would just use my hands. I also remember the food tube having bars on it, probably so that I could not stick my arms inside or jam it?
Secondly, the sunbathing area. Living within the cave would certainly bring about a lot of health risks so I guess I just had an area where I would lie flat on my stomach and soak up the sun while I read a book or something. In every version of this dream this area was always in the center of the room. A circular glass hole was created so that the sun's rays could shine through. It was also my only way to see the outside world. I would sleep upon the carpet/futon as well.
Thirdly, the recreation area. Not much to be said about this. I only was allowed to read books and create art in this scenario. I remember having a whole bookshelf of all kinds of books that looked interesting. I am unsure if I'd get new books if I managed to read through them all or not.
Fourthly, cameras. Similar to Nasubi, nearly every point of interest (aside from the bathroom for obvious reasons) was constantly filmed by a set of 3-4 large cameras. They probably got power from the sun or something.
The reception of this series was mixed. Part of the dream's perspective would switch between myself inside the cave and that of an onlooker watching youtube commentary guys talk about the impact of the (presumably) ongoing series. Every talking point you can gather from the Nasubi saga was repeated here. At peak watching times the website hosting the live feed would have around 10k viewers (usually whenever I was awake). Views would dip whenever I would be asleep.
Interactions with the outside world were pretty uncommon since I had no way to read the chat or contact the host. I do recall sometimes having a very hot pepper deployed as the day's snack but otherwise it was oddly calm. After a while I stopped caring about the fact that I was being broadcast and just fell into a routine. The dream would always end on the perspective of the onlooker watching the livestream of myself. All in all its a mixed bag of feelings I cannot put a name on if I tried. Thats all for now.

Another theory of mine that I had before the release of Rain Code;
I had noticed the very odd way Shinigami's name was written in Japanese as 死に神. I've never seen this before, as the word shinigami is usually exclusively written as 死神 without the に(ni) in the middle, as the "ni" is always implied in this circumstance and functions as a polite conjugation in other circumstances.
Because of this, I theorized that this unusual spelling of her name was going to be some sort of wordplay clue about the nature of her existence. In this case, I imagined the "ni" here being used as an awkward particle rather than a conjugation, and thus denoting the meaning of "god who has died".
So in short, the actual theory here is that Shinigami was a god who had died (whether as a human before becoming a god, or she died as a god in a very RPGesque way), and she had since been designated as a god who solves mysteries.
This went along nicely with my other theory that Yuma had been murdered or was dying by the time he made his pact as a last ditch effort to solve his own murder and/or just solve the circumstance of whatever messy investigation he had gotten involved with, and the pact was the only thing keeping him alive (I'm certain a lot of people must've thought of this same scenario). A guy who was murdered teaming up with a god who died is quite an interesting team up where they had a mutual commonality.
But anyways, since then I've even asked a native Japanese language professor at my college about this odd writing of shinigami just in case this is just an inexperience thing on my part, but even they said that they've never seen this before, so I don't know if there's an exact context to this writing..
I guess technically this theory can still be valid, because we know next to nothing about Shinigami and Kodaka has mentioned that the spelling of her name denotes that she's a special existence that sets her apart from other death gods, so who knows!

Could you give some examples of the misinformation in the English fandom? I speak almost no Japanese and even I've noticed times where the translation didn't quite seem to match up with what little I know but it seemed to me to just be adding a joke where there was none. I'd like to know lore I have wrong though.
[Referencing this post!]
A disclaimer before I properly respond to this ask; in sharing some examples and my thoughts, I am not faulting any fan translators or localizers that work on the TWST EN team. Translation and localization are very valued yet difficult tasks; there isn’t always an easy equivalent between languages, and it can be so challenging to capture linguistic nuances. I’m sure that everyone is just doing their best at what they are passionate about and/or being paid to do.
Again, I speak about this not with any malicious intent, but to elaborate on a point mentioned in my original post about differences between JP and EN fandoms (that being that misinformation readily spreads in EN compared to JP due to a significant language barrier).
It would be impossible to list off every single mistranslation or odd localization choice (both for fan translations and for the official TWST EN) 💦 They can also range in severity of mistranslation, from minor word choices which affect understanding of characters to generally confusing sentences to completely incorrect notes, lore, or story beats.
For a few detailed examples and explanations, please check out these posts:
Incorrect subject (Jade’s line on his character page on the official Twisted Wonderland EN website; all of the character lines on the website have been changed into something else now, so if you were to go check you wouldn’t find the initial error.)
Selected word does not fit the context (A phrase is used by a NPC to describe Sebek; this parricular fan translated equivalent does not quite suit the scenario/other words used.)
Misunderstanding of character’s intent (Jade explaining Floyd’s reason for the sea creature nicknames in episode 4 of the main story.)
This is a far more egregious example, but there was also this case in which an interview was translated in such a way that led to an extended period of unrest and conflict within the English-speaking part of the fandom.
Some more humorous mistranslations I’ve seen are:
“Jade drinks cannabis tea” (Jade Broom Bloom Birthday vignettes; he mentions that he uses some of the weeds (not cannabis) he picks up on his mountain hikes to brew tea. Japan still considers cannabis an illicit substance, and possession of it is illegal + punishable by a minimum sentence of 5 years in jail. Rough mistranslation aside, it’s unlikely Disney would allow for their highly marketable characters to be portrayed as using “weed”.)
“Team Puta” (main story, episode 6; the correct translation is “Team Hepta”, as Hepta is a Greek word meaning “seven”. Each of S.T.Y.X.’s teams is named similarly using other Greek words. “Puta” doesn’t make sense for S.T.Y.X.; it’s the Spanish word for a profanity. Why would one of their divisions be named that?)
“Jester Judge” (Glorious Masquerade; the title is used in reference to Frollo, the “Just Judge” of the City of Flowers. However, the adjective prior to judge has been mistranslated as “Jester”. Given Frollo’s personality and how his self-righteous actions are described, “just” makes much more sense than “jester”, which would imply that he is a fun-loving person.)
The disappearance of Cater’s sisters (main story, episode 1; when Cater introduces his unique magic to Yuu and co., he specifies that his clones aren’t his siblings. More specifically, Cater claims he “has no siblings”, which is incorrect. He canonically has two older sisters (which is even brought up in the localized version of Cater’s Labwear vignettes.) The vanishing sisters in the main story likely occurs due to a mistranslation of the Japanese phrase for siblings and relies on context to assign gender to said siblings. ***Note: the localization in general tends to add jokes that weren’t there in the original or it axes certain lines altogether.***
“The episode 6 plot twist is…?” (this is a personal anecdote; I once spoke to a fellow TWST fan who hadn’t yet read episode 6 (which was entirely out at the time) and they told me they had heard from other people that Idia’s unique magic was associated with his hair. They had also heard that he Overblots when the flames are put out and that this was what originally killed Ortho. I thought they were joking at first, but they genuinely believed it to be true 💦 when none of that is…)
I believe a lot of these mistranslations occurred due to the differences between Japanese and English. There are four separate alphabets for Japanese, whereas English only has one, and this can complicate translation. Furthermore, Japanese has certain nuances (such as omission of the subject and/or the same phrase meaning multiple different things depending on the context in which the phrase is used) which can lead to wonky translations.
Inputting certain phrases into Google translate or looking it up in a dictionary if you don’t know it may give only the most commonly used translation which doesn’t take the context of the rest of the sentence into consideration (which could entirely change the translation of the word). For example, やばい (yabai) is typically translated as “terrible” or “this is bad”; it has a generally negative connotation. However, it can actually have several meanings, with many of them actually being positive depending on the context.
Something that I’ve noticed is very popular in the English-speaking fandom are live reactions; they’re quick and snappy ways to get summaries of new TWST content as soon as it drops. These can sometimes be difficult for readers (who likely rely on the threads to understand what is going on) to discern what has legitimately happened in the story and what is just the fan translator having fun/saying something silly or exaggerating for effect (because they’re just as excited about new TWST content as we are to read about it!). It admittedly leads to some people taking the exaggerated parts/jokes/the fan translator goofing around as legitimate story beats. It’s understandable that the average fan would do this, as they do not understand Japanese to the point of being able to discern what is true vs what is false; of course they would put their trust in someone who does understand the language. In this case, it’s not a mistranslation so much as it is a misunderstanding. I believe this may be what Anon means when they say “the translation didn't quite seem to match up with what little [they] know but it seemed to [them] to just be adding a joke where there was none”.
A recent example of this occurred during Glorious Masquerade. In canon, Malleus outright declares that he is mad and wants to kill Rollo for deceiving him with a fake invitation. However, many excited Malleus fans added (in their initial personal reactions to the event) that it was cute that he was getting emotional because he was “mad at Rollo for trying to hurt Yuu” which… isn’t necessarily true. But since this was mixed in with legitimate summary/translations for the event, this led some readers to assume that this information was, indeed, not a joke but true while also completely overlooking the actual canon reason provided by Malleus himself for seeking devastating revenge against Rollo.
I hope that clarifies a few things!

Lookism: Rendezvous 🔞 (Introduction) || Gun Park x Fem! Reader ♡
Author’s Note: Hi everyone, this is my first Tumblr post. I decided to join the Tumblr Lookism community because of how much I love this manhwa and it became my favorite manhwa of all time. I wanted to share my thoughts, memes, and writing because of how much I adore this manhwa. I planned on writing my own mini series based on Lookism, especially on Park Jong Gun because I love him so much. This is all purely for fun, and I have so many Lookism scenarios that I just can’t help but want to share them all with people who love Lookism. If you do come across this, I hope you’ll all enjoy it and the future posts that will come.
The introduction will be a little long, so I hope you’ll bear with me on this one. If not, I’m sorry. You can skip it if you want, but the introduction will be important to understand where the story will be going. But I promise, Gun will be introduced in this part. I hope you appreciate some minor OC’s that I made to make the story a bit more interesting. Enjoy! :)
NSFW Warning: Violence, strong language/cursing, sexual violence, and sexual content (teaser).
Story Summary: You traveled abroad to help support your mother who is sick, back home in Japan. However, once you reached Korea, everything went downhill until you met a stranger who offered you a deal that could benefit you. But who knew that this special encounter would turn your whole life around…
Your arms wrapped around the lean, muscular body of the man who you grew to adore. Both of your mouths collided, as well as your bodies. The friction of your bodies made it unbearable, even when you two were still fully clothed. Touching feverishly amongst each other, the two of you wouldn’t dare part ways.
You became so smitten with this man that you got him wrapped around your little finger. His eyes stared down at you, with intense lust in his eyes.
“I think I’m going insane. I don’t think I can control myself any longer.” He said through clenched teeth, as he ripped through your clothes and tossed them aside. Your top, your skirt, and your under garments were torn off instantly, However, he reassured you that he’ll buy you new clothes later.
His hands glide against your legs, pulling them around his waist for you to wrap around him. You clung onto him as he carried you with his strong arms, making sure his lips didn’t leave yours. When the two of you reached the bedroom, he slammed the door behind him then pushed you onto the bed.
“I’ve always wanted to do this with you.” He looked down at you with a strong heated desire. His eyes and his body language says it all. He wanted you badly, and for quite a while now.
Once he removed every layer of clothing that he had on, they all seemed to have landed across the room near the door. He got on top of you, trapping you with his arms on the bed.
“Are you ready, (Y/N)? I’ll make you even more worthy to become my woman than any other woman could. I’ll make sure that you’ll become mine.”
Ah… when did it become this addicting to be with such a man?
Well, it didn’t really start off just from going on dates. It’s much deeper than that.
It all started in Japan. Japan was the place that held bittersweet memories. The place where you lived harmoniously with your mother in that one-room apartment that you had all to yourselves. That little space was just enough for you to feel content.
You didn’t care if the other students at your school treated you like a freak just because you were poor, wearing old and reused uniform. You’re going to school just to get into a university so you can help provide for you and your mom. That’s all that matters.
You missed your mom’s voice, the way she would sing those nostalgic 90s Japanese pop songs. You remembered when you used to come home from rough days at school. The first thing you’d hear was the sound of your mom’s voice coming from the kitchen, singing blissfully as she was cutting up potatoes and carrots to cook your favorite curry rice. Your mouth would curve to a very wide grin while greeting her and offering to help her out in the kitchen. The both of you would be singing together without a care in the world. Fun and laughter always filled the room whenever you were with your mother.
You missed when your mom would offer to also comb your hair. Her fingers gently untangling your hair left you feeling happiness and pleasure as it soothes you. Back then, times were simpler. There wasn’t a care in the world and you believed that nothing would get in the way from you two living peacefully with content. However, that all took a turn for the worst.
On a gloomy day, you rushed all the way home from school to try and avoid the rain. However, as rain drops started to fall from the sky, you were afraid that you might catch a cold while shielding yourself from the rain. You thought that it would be a hassle for you to have to go to the doctor if you got sick. You wouldn’t want to burden your mom who was already struggling to make ends meet with the rent, bills, and additional debts.
When you reached the front door of your apartment, you clumsily fumbled for your keys in your bag before unlocking the door and opening it. Your hand reached for the door knob and as you slowly turned to open it, you yelled out, “I’m home!-”
Suddenly, everything was moving in slow motion. Your bag dropped onto the ground with a loud thud as your eyes widened in horror. You saw your mom laid on the floor, unconscious with a small pool of blood trailing from her mouth. Panicking, you rushed straight to her and tried to shake her awake. “Mom?! Mom!!! Get up, please!! HELP!!! Someone please, oh god-” You dashed across the room as you reached for the only landline phone available near a meter radius and dialed 1-1-0.
Soon enough, the sounds of sirens were heard nearing with such an ear deafening tone outside your place. You felt yourself trembling as you kept shaking her, hoping that she’ll wake up anytime soon. The paramedics came into your apartment with a stretcher and you helped them lay your unconscious mother onto the stretcher. You sobbed as you saw them take your mother away, following them into the ambulance. Neighbors and random bystanders grew curious to see what was all the commotion and loud ruckus about. Many looked shocked and horrified, while others felt pity towards you and your mother. Everyone’s eyes pierced through your back like a painful wave when you followed the medical professionals into the ambulance and rode off.
Is this really it? What if mom never wakes up?
“Please, hurry…” you whimpered.
About ten minutes have passed and you made it into the hospital. They rushed her out right away to the ER to have her looked into. The doors immediately shut in front of you as you hurried over to the nurse who was blocking your way. “Is she going to be ok? Will she be alright? I don’t want her to die! Please help her!” Was all the words you mustered to say. The nurse surprisingly understood the babble of words that came out of your mouth, as she gave a reassuring grip on your shoulder and said, “I’m sorry miss, but you have to wait out here for a while. We’ll do everything we can to help your mom, okay?”
Please… not like this. Why did it have to be like this? We were okay, so why did things have to turn out like this? God, if you are really there, please don’t take my mom away from me. She’s all I have.
Your hands built into fists as you stood there in front of the ER doors sobbing, anxiously waiting for your mother to be alright.
An hour had passed. Then two hours. Then four hours. Then six. The situation dwindled when the doctor finally came out of the room. Your eyes were alarmed when you met eye contact with the doctor. “How is she doctor? Is she okay now?” The doctor’s eyes loomed with a tint of melancholy. “I regret to inform you that your mother has been diagnosed with COPD, which is Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. This could have been possibly due to her having Chronic Bronchitis previously. However, since she hasn’t been treated early, her symptoms worsened which resulted into COPD. Have you noticed that your mother had been coughing a lot recently?”
You felt your eyes dim and your heart sunk. You were so shocked that the previous events that occurred at home started running through your head.
Flashbacks of your mom over-working herself even at home came flooding in. The remembrance of the times when your mother coughed and told you she was alright after you repeatedly asked her if she was fine, made you feel guilty. Guilt that made you feel like an absolute fool.
How could I have let this happen? This is all my fault. If I hadn’t believed her all those times, she would have been treated right away. Yet, I had to find out like this.
“Y-yes… I have. All this t-time, she was trying to h-hide it from me… S-she told me she was fine, but I didn’t know she was suffering so… m-much…” Tears began to pour from your eyes, leaving you choked up and lost in your own regretful thoughts. The doctor sighed then said, “The only way for your mother to get better is for her to get surgery. She has to undergo pulmonary rehabilitation too before she gets surgery. You may ask for loans to help pay for the surgery and we will do anything we can to help you pay for medical finances.” A nurse came running to the doctor, informing him that he was needed in the third floor. At that, you thanked the doctor for his help and support, then watched him disappear in the sea of bustling people.
A few months have passed, and you decided to stick around in school until graduation. You knew that your mom would have been upset if you didn’t at least graduate from high school, so you decided to suck it up and worked hard until the end. Although, you were glad to leave that horrible place while barely passing. Originally, you had really good grades but it became harder for you to even concentrate in your final year of high school ever since your mother’s hospitalization. Word got out in your school that your mother was staying in the hospital, since one of the students who was brought in from your class overheard you talking to a teacher in the teacher’s lounge about your personal issues affecting your school performance during lunch break. Consequently, the treatment that your classmates gave you got even worse but you didn’t let that bother you. On the other hand, you were just glad that you got to graduate with your head held high regardless of the harsh bullying and the criticism towards you. In some way, this made you realize that you won over them.
Yeah, that’s right. I never gave up. So, fuck all of you.
At the time when you were trying to finish high school, you were managing a few part-time jobs after school and on the weekends just to help pay for the rent and manage your mom’s hospital bills. Luckily, you snagged a job as a waitress at a ramen bar next to the train station where a lot of customers get to stop by. On the other hand, you go to a nearby karate dojo near your place and worked as an assistant there. Just carrying boards, wooden planks, and gathering protective gear for karate sessions was simple enough to earn a generous amount of cash. Hell, you even enjoyed those intense karate matches that you get to see every week. Just observing your favorite karate students kicking ass was fun for you to watch. After all, you started to treat them like they’re your own students too even though they’re around the same age as you. It was as if you were their manager.
Fatigue was starting to catch up to you, yet you felt fortunate for the given opportunities. However, it wasn’t enough to pay for your mother’s hospital bills. You had no choice but to sign up for the special loan program that was being provided by the hospital. While your mother’s monthly bills were barely paid for, your debts started to increase exponentially which made you question whether you’re able to keep pushing yourself to work or not.
No. I have to keep going. I can’t let mom down like this.
After visiting your mom in her hospital room, you were about to leave to go to the ramen place for your upcoming shift until a poster with slips of phone numbers attached to it was on the hospital’s bulletin board. It caught your eye, so you decided to stop and take a look at its content.

Sounds like a dream come true, right? Earning money was all that matters to you. At least, that’s what you were thinking of at that time to set you and your mother free from this hell hole of a reality, called life.
You decided to contact someone from that job recruiting agency, and they gladly accepted your service to them. Through the phone, they instructed you to go to a certain address right at the outskirts of Tokyo, where their company’s headquarters were at. They explained that they needed you to go there so that they can help you finalize all of the paperwork needed to travel and so, you went there without even thinking twice.
On the side of a street, you booked a cab and you headed over there right away. Once you got there, the taxi driver signaled that you were at your destination. You gave him the money and right when you got out of the cab, you found yourself standing in front of an old chipped building that was surrounded by other old abandoned industrial sites. There were only two black tinted cars parked at the very end of the parking lot, as the rest of the parking slots were all empty. A chilly gust of wind blew past you, making you shiver.
Is this really the right place? That taxi driver better have taken me to the right location.
Your hand slipped into your pocket as you took out a small slip of paper, which was the address that you wrote down during the phone call. Your eyes scanned the first few numbers of the address then compared it to the number of the building that was etched at the front of its exterior.
Yup, this is the one.
While slowly walking towards the door, your heart started hammering through your chest and you could feel your breathing hitch anxiously. You turned the door knob and slowly opened the door. Ding! A small bell from the door chimed your arrival, which made you jump.
You looked around the room nervously. There was a wooden desk sat right in front of the entrance and sitting behind it was a man with buff arms who was holding the newspaper right in front of him. An ash tray laid in front of his newspaper, as you watched a trail of smoke rise from behind the newspaper. “So you finally arrived, (Y/N).”
The man peeked from behind his newspaper then set it aside. Before getting up from his seat, he stretched to crack his back, neck, and knuckles that were dressed full of thick golden rings. You observed this man from head to toe. He had a scar visible over his eyebrow. His facial features were rough, with a bit of stubble above his upper lip and on his chin. His hair was slicked back, pompadour style. The side of his neck was painted in tattoos that were images of old Japanese calligraphy on his right side and a green menacing oni was on his left. His outfit was very professional as he wore a black suit with an expensive purple silk tie. “This way.” He grumbled before walking through a narrow hallway full of other offices.
While eyeing the rooms that you passed by, you caught a few other men arranging wooden crates in one room. They all looked pretty built and they looked like the type of men that if you ever met eye contact with them, you’d be dead on the spot. Quickly, you averted your eyes away from the room, worried that they would question you if you meet eye-to-eye with them.
Who are they, yakuza?
Eventually, you reached the end of the hallway to his private study. The newspaper guy closed the door behind the both of you and offered a chair for you to sit in front of his desk. Once the two of you got comfortable in your seats, he pulled out a stack of documents from his desk file and placed them right in front of you. He looked you in the eyes as he let out a puff of smoke from his cigarette that was stuck between his yellow stained teeth. “The name’s Ryuji. I’m glad that you decided to take us up on this special offer, Ms. (Y/N).” He propped his hands onto his desk seriously, while his gaze towards you became even more intimidating, like a tiger ready to strike. “Shall we begin?”
One by one, he handed you a document to sign while he summarized each one. The first document was a contract, stating that the agency will not be responsible for your belongings, safety, and health if it is not within the agency’s reach. They will not interfere with whatever actions you take while staying in another country, as long as you abide by the agency’s rules to ensure your own safety. The process of labor immigration will be taken care of by them, and in exchange, your discipline, proper work ethics, and determination is needed to fulfill the job position that will be assigned to you. By the end of the contract, he handed you a pen to sign. Without hesitation, you decided to sign.
You’re doing the right thing. This is for mom. All of this is for her.
The rest of the documents were taken care of. All personal information that was needed to travel was given straight to Ryuji, for him to sign papers on his end as a private contractor. He asked you which country would you like to go for work, and you chose “South Korea”. The reason why you chose South Korea was because you were more familiar with the Korean language than any other language from those other countries that was being offered. Good thing you went to a high school that offered to teach Korean as an additional language requirement.
Eventually, he gave you a plane ticket for a booked flight set in three days and an envelope that had enough cash for you to settle into the country that you’ll be working at. After everything was taken care of, he offered to let one of his personal chauffeurs to take you back home. “Goodbye (Y/N), thank you for choosing our agency to help you get what you need. I wish you the best of luck in Korea!” Ryuji waved while watching you ride off down the road. You watched behind you as the view of Ryuji and that agency grew smaller and smaller into the background.
Three days later, you boarded your flight to Korea and have safely landed at Incheon International Airport in Seoul. The day before you left for Korea, you visited your mother while she was sleeping. You gave her a light kiss on her forehead after whispering your words of goodbyes to her. “Bye mom, I’ll be gone for a while. I’ll miss you so much. And please, wait for me till I get back. I’ll work hard for both you and me, so hang in there!”
Now you’re on the grounds of Seoul! It is around five in the afternoon, and you finally exited the airport. While walking out, you walked pass a sea full of cars, taxis, and shuttles that were dropping off and picking up many people.
Geez, this place is so crowded! Where’s the pick-up service that Ryuji told me to look out for?
Before leaving the agency, Ryuji mentioned that an escort will come and pick you up from the airport. While scanning the bustling drop-off site, your eyes finally locked on a sign that says your name on it, written in big letters. You hurried over towards the person who was holding up the sign above their head while waving your arm wildly to get their attention. “Hey, over here!” (You said in Korean.)
The escort that was wearing black uniform took notice of you and waved back as he walked towards you. In Korean he said, “Hello, welcome to Seoul! You must be (Y/N). My name is Tae and I will be your driver to the Korean branch of the job agency. I’ll take care of your luggage while you get in the car.” You nodded as you gladly handed your luggage bag over to Tae for him to put in the trunk and got in the black Bentley.
Wow, leather seats. How fancy. Is it normal here in Korea to ride in expensive cars like this?
You were so excited that while Tae was driving, you marveled at the sights outside of the window as you passed by them. However, while staring at the unfamiliar streets of Seoul, your eyes grew heavier as they slowly closed. It didn’t take long for the fatigue to get to you, making you drift into a deep comfortable sleep.
“Miss, we’re here!”
You were woken up by Tae’s call as your eyes slowly fluttered open. You looked out the window and you were surprised to see that the sky was already dark. You jolted up in your seat as you looked around your surroundings from inside the car.
What the hell? Where am I?
You noticed that Tae wasn’t in the driver’s seat anymore. Actually, he was nowhere to be found. You shifted to the other side of the backseat to get a better view of your surroundings. You could still see that you were around the city area, but now, you were in a more secluded area than before. The tall skyscrapers were far away but still visible in the distance. The streets that you were in, barely had any people strolling around at this time. You noticed that the car was parked in front of a sketchy looking bar. The words, “Venus’s Paradise” displayed on the sign of the bar, surrounded by pink flashy lights around the words.
What is this place? Why am I here? This isn’t the agency’s branch. I need to call Ryuji right away!
You grabbed your phone from your pocket and you quickly dialed Ryuji’s phone number. As you anxiously waited for him to pick up, things were starting to look unpromising. The call immediately went to a “this phone number is not available” message that left you terrified out of your wits, so you decided to call Ryuji’s number again.
Dammit, come on and pick up the phone already!!!
After a few rings, the phone repeated the same automatic message. “FUCK!” Frustration swept over you as you ran your fingers through your hair. “I should’ve listened to my gut instead, I knew those bastards were shady! Those assholes-“ You heard the lock of the car click as the door to your right side opened up. You swiftly turned around as you saw two big strangers trying to reach over to you to grab you. Tae was just behind them, silently observing while lighting a cigarette in his mouth. You saw that your luggage bag was standing right next to him. “Come on, hurry up and grab her already! The boss is waiting, and he won’t be happy about this if we’re late. Make sure you bring her all in one piece!”
One of the muscular henchmen got a hold of your arms and tugged you out of the car. You tried resisting by thrashing around, but those strong humanoid freaks behind you restrained you by holding both of your arms behind your back. “Tae, this is a mistake! Why are you doing this?! I’m here to work, not get mixed up in with these creeps!”
Tae stared you down with an unsympathetic look in his eyes. He released an exhausted puff of smoke from his mouth before throwing his cigarette to the ground to properly extinguish it. Finally, his true colors were shown. He walked towards you then forcefully grabbed onto your chin as he leaned in closer to you. You can feel and smell his hot breath that reeked of cigs. “Listen here, girl. The only reason why you’re here now is because you’ve been chosen to become one of the lovely women who will serve our boss. Pretty little things like you could either be part of his little harem shit, or become one of the special hostesses that will satisfy the boss’s powerful friends.”
You gritted your teeth, trying to think of a plan to get out of this situation. “Then, what the hell was all of that contract shit then? What if the agency will look for me if I go missing? Isn’t this still considered THEIR business?” The two buff maniacs behind you chuckled while Tae sneered, “I wouldn’t say so. After all, this is out of their reach now. Didn’t you read the contract properly? You wouldn’t know that the guy who helped you get here in the first place is considered as one of the important business partners of our boss. He basically just sold you off to him. So now, stop acting like a little bitch and let’s go! We don’t got time for this.” Tae turned around to lead the way and right when they were going to push you inside-
NOW!!!
You kicked Meathead #1 on your left from behind on one of his shins, making him let go of your arms while howling in pain. Meathead #2 behind you looked at his partner confused. While he was distracted you head-butted him backwards as hard as you could, which hit him directly on his nose. Now you had both meatheads yelling in pain, and for that, you sprinted down the street like there’s no tomorrow!
Behind you, you could hear Tae ordering them to chase you. “You idiots! Don’t just stand there, go after her!!!” The two henchmen started bolting after you, while one was covering his now bleeding nose and the other one kept rubbing his leg like a moron. You huffed while trying to find some place to lose them but surprisingly, they’re quicker than you thought even when injured. You could tell by the echoes of footsteps chasing after you getting louder and louder by every minute that goes by.
Damn, where am I supposed to go now?! I left my stuff to that other asshole, and now I’m stuck in a foreign country! I can’t believe I let my own greed for money dictate my own actions. Ugh, I’m so stupid! Stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid!!! I just wanted a good life, is that so much to ask for?!
You were running out of ideas of where to go, so you took a sharp left through an alleyway, but to no avail, you were trapped and chose the wrong turn. You were just met with a big dumpster right in front of you. “Shit.” You heard snickering behind you, making you turn around. The two muscle-headed idiots triumphantly walked towards you, seeing that you finally have no where to go. One of them said, “So much for running away. I can’t believe you managed to escape for a bit. Most beauties that we’ve taken in has never done that before. You’re actually the first to do that.”
You rolled your eyes. “Oh great, thanks. Do I get first place now?” They both stopped in front of their tracks, staring down at you with mischievous grins on their faces. “Oh no, you’ll get MORE than just first place,” said the second guy. “What?” The both of them slammed you against the dumpster, enough for you to dent the dirty tin behind you. You groaned in pain as they both pinned you against it, holding both of your arms over your heard by clamping your wrists together. “Since we’re already running late, they won’t mind if one of the packages go missing since there’s a lot more beauties like you. We’ll just say that we chased you all the way up to the Han River and you decided to jump over the bridge. Although, since you gave us a hard time, you’ll have to repay us with some hardship.” The guy on your left had his finger trailed down from your cheek to your chest, while fumbling with the buttons of your shirt. The other creep licked his lips, enjoying the sight of you trying to struggle against their strong grip. You felt hot tears running down your face. Not from fear, but from rage. Rage that resulted from your lack of physical strength.
“That’s right, bitches like you should feel fear. They should be at the mercy of their masters. Should’ve done what you were told right from the start, then you wouldn’t have to go through this. But don’t worry, it’ll be quick. We’ll take good care of you~” You winced as their grips on your wrists had gotten tighter than before. Their hands started to undo the buttons of your shirt and you squirmed under their touch, still trying to resist them. You shut your eyes, prepared for what was yet to come until…
“How pathetic. Guys like you who couldn’t manage to get a woman with their own charms would resort to something like this. Ah, who knew what the world has come to?”
The two of the men paused and whirled around, shocked to see that there was actually a witness who saw everything. You felt their hands loosen a bit from being startled by the stranger. Your eyes slowly opened, curious to see where that voice came from. In front of the three of you was a tall blonde man with glasses blocking the way out of the alleyway. His outfit screamed rich and expensive, with his flashy GUCCI light blue suit and pants. His suit was printed with an intricate pattern, somewhat like clovers. His outfit was paired with a white buttoned-up polo shirt underneath and a golden tie wrapped around his neckline.
The blonde gave a wicked grin as if he was excited to beat up any guy he sees, regardless of who it may be. The glint in his eyes says it all too. In return, the two assholes in front of you glared back at the blonde. “And who the hell are you?” spat one of them.
“Oh yeah, you should know my name before you get your asses handed by me. My name’s Joon Goo Kim. It’s a pleasure to be here, really. I was just so bored waiting for my ride to come pick me up, so I decided to wander around the streets of Gangnam. Oh man, I’m so glad I heard you idiots loud and clear from the outside of this alleyway. At least now I have some form of entertainment to keep me company. So, now I’ll give you two options and you’ll only get three seconds to decide. First, you can leave the woman be and fight me to your heart’s content, OR, you can give me five billion won and I’ll pretend that I didn’t see or hear anything then leave.”
You couldn’t believe what you were hearing. From the Korean that he just spoke, you could understand a decent amount of it. Thank god, you actually paid attention during class. However, from the words that you understood from him, you can confirm:
This guy’s another asshole. Actually, a major freak for violence. The blonde bastard didn’t show up just to save me. He actually came just to have a brawl? Are all men in Korea THIS ABSURD?!
You felt an uneasy chill go up your spine. Your senses were telling you that the blonde man, named Joon Goo, may be dangerous. Even when you couldn’t do anything at that moment, you could feel how close your sweet escape was. An opening will soon reveal itself soon.
“Three.”
Both of the muscle-brained idiots started to enrage in panic. “Now, wait a second!”
Goo was still grinning in amusement. “Two.”
“Why the hell should we follow YOUR orders, huh?!” They started to completely loosen their restrain on you.
Even though you started to despise the blonde guy in front of you, you realized that he unintentionally gave you an opportunity to escape. You now see a bright light in between the two guys standing in front of you, with their backs now turned towards you.
Thank you.
“O-
You swiftly sped right through the opening in between the two of them towards Goo. The two knuckleheads were surprised to see you swept past them out of the blue like that. Even Goo’s eyes widened a bit in surprise. “You bitch!” The guy that was on your left stepped and reached out to you to try and grab your head until-
WHAM!
By instinct, you stopped on your tracks for a split second, whirled around, and round-house kicked the guy on the side of his head with your right foot. In slow motion, all of you watched as you sent him flying straight into the wooden wall. With such force, a loud crack was heard where his skull made contact with the wall underneath a gust of all of that rubble. His head was now etched deep into the wall with the rest of his body hanging unconsciously while dust was still flying everywhere.
The other creep stood near the dumpster as his jaw dropped to the floor, staring at the sight in disbelief. “H-how the hell was that possible…?” Your head pointed up towards the sky. You let out an exhausted sigh, as if you let all of your energy into that one kick. You didn’t see Goo’s reaction clearly, but you could have sworn that he was grinning even more maniacally than ever. “How interesting. I didn’t see that one coming.” he whispered to himself. In your head, you were trying to process what just happened but you started to feel a bit light headed.
How did I even do that? I’ve never fought before in my life, and yet, I knew how to pull a move like that? Where did that even come from and where have I seen that move before?
While trying to control your breathing, your head slowly turned towards your next target. A gleam of danger emanated threateningly from your eyes, making the buff idiot flinch. His eyes then changed from fear to a new spark of annoyance and rage. “H-how dare you fucking scare me like that for just a second. How could a bitch like you manage to do that?! You just got lucky!” He started running towards you with his fists clenched outward and ready to strike. As he went for a jab to your face, you shifted your weight to your right leg and countered his punch with a left side kick. You feel yourself light on your feet while you shift from side to side, trying to give distance between the two of you and dodged every attempted punch. This gave you time to think of a proper attack to land a powerful kick on him. It was like everything was automatic to you. Like information was just stored into your brain without you even being aware of it.
It has been a while since the two of you have been going at each other. While you were in the middle of defending yourself, Goo was watching intently, observing your swift moves until he heard someone call for him from behind. “Hey Goo, you asshole. I told you to wait for me in front of Gangnam Station.” Goo raised an eyebrow as he turned to see who had finally arrived to the scene. “Ah, you finally came. What took you so long?”
Another tall man was walking towards Goo. Just like Goo’s entrance, this man’s impression was very rich and suave in taste. His dark hair was well-kept as the sides of his head were trimmed and the top of his head was slicked back nicely. His face had on wide-rimmed glasses, not enough to make his eyes visible to see through them from a viewer’s perspective. The new stranger had a long black coat over his shoulders, swaying from the breeze. Underneath, was a unique button-down maroon suit matching with his pants. Inside the multiple layers of expensive clothing was a white long sleeve polo shirt, as well as a bright yellow tie. He was a really attractive man, however, he was not in his best mood.
He stopped on his tracks right next to Goo and turned to look at him with annoyance. “You made me search for you all over Gangnam, you bastard.” His hand reached into his pocket for a cigarette from a new pack he just bought, then popped it in his mouth. On the other hand, he got out a lighter and lit the cig in his mouth before puffing a smoke. His gaze fixated on Goo’s fascinated pupils pointing towards the small fight that you and the only conscious henchman were having.
You didn’t notice the new stranger’s entrance, since you were too busy countering the guy’s punches with your kicks. Blocking and kicking over and over again was starting to tire you out, but that didn’t let you give up just yet.
Goo and the new guy watched intently in silence, observing your movements.
“So, who is she?”
Goo shrugged. “Don’t know.”
“How long have they been going at it for?”
“Not sure. Probably for about thirty minutes now.”
Mr. Wide-Rims chuckled. “I’m surprised someone like her is able to hold on for that long. If I were to catch her out in the street, I wouldn’t have thought of her as a fighter. I don’t sense that vibe coming off from her.”
Goo pushed his glasses back onto his nose bridge. “You have noooo idea. At first, I found her helpless like a little kitten by the dumpster but I didn’t know that she would manage to pull something like that.” He pointed over to the other guy whose head was still punctured into the wall while his limp body was still hanging.
The guy with black hair smirked at the sight of the unconscious man. “Oh? What a terrifying woman… hm?” His eyes turned back to the duel, watching the way you moved. Your kicks, your fighting stance, and your facial expressions somehow managed to hypnotize him. “I see now. She’s using Kyokushin Karate. I wonder how she learned how to fight like that. She must be an amateur fighter from what you told me so far, but the results that we got in front of us didn’t seem to be like that. So, how come?”
The man that you’ve been fighting with was starting to run out of steam. You could see sweat coming down from the sides of his head. The same goes for you too, as you felt beads of sweat trickling down your forehead.
I need to finish this now. But how can I do that if I can’t find any openings?
“Dammit, this ends now!!!” The man in front of you bellowed and bolted straight towards you with his fist outwards, ready to come for the final blow. All of a sudden, your vision became narrower. Your surroundings dimmed around you, as if your body suddenly transported into a dark empty room. The guy coming towards you was the only thing visible in sight. His movements played in slow motion and you finally saw the opening that you were hoping for. Right in front of you was a circle of light illuminating around his face.
“Gotcha.”
With a spring from your heel, you leaped towards him then landed on flat on your left foot. As you put pressure onto your left foot from the fall, you swung your right leg forward then kicked him as hard as you can. The tip of your shoe landed straight for his chin before he could have managed to go for a straight punch. The impact that your foot had with his chin resulted in lots of teeth broken from the force of his lower jaw onto his upper set of teeth. Eventually, his body flew straight up into the air, like a projectile that just fired. The direction where his body was sent flying went straight into the dumpster with a loud thud. The back of his head ricochet a bit off of the edge of the dumpster where he landed with his whole body laid spread out. All the poor guy could feel at that moment was just pain all over his body, which led him to pass out on the spot.
Mr. Wide-Rims gaped in awe as his cigarette slowly fell from his mouth. The way you sent that man flying was such a beautiful sight to see. Everything about that moment was perfect. The timing was just right. The amount of force you used on your movements was calculated perfectly. The energy that was used up from that attack was well-spent. All of these factors somehow mesmerized the man who has been fighting all throughout his life. He had never seen moves before that looked so picturesque like a perfect movie. Especially, from a woman such as yourself. “How can her moves be so graceful? I’ve never seen anything like that before.”
Goo on the other hand, had a glint of wickedness in his eyes. Unlike the first time he saw you send someone flying, his vision became clearer. The sight that he gladly witnessed caused him to come up with a great idea that he thought would benefit him. An idea that he never knew was coming…
Your legs almost gave out as you caught yourself from falling by holding onto your knees. While breathing heavily from all of the action that had taken place, your head sunk down as you tried to catch your breath. “Well, well, well. I guess we have a winner.”
Your head tilted back upwards, as you now see two figures standing in front of you. Goo was still standing there, as he gave you a small mischievous wave. Right next to him was someone you assumed was a new stranger. You and the mysterious stranger locked eyes with one another, even though you couldn’t really see his eyes through those glasses of his. However, even though you couldn’t make out what his eyes looked like through those wide-rimmed glasses of his, his presence was intense. Similar to Goo’s, when you first encountered him a while ago. You had a feeling that these men were not meant to be messed with.
Goo slowly walked towards you, then leaned in close to your ear, enough to hear him whisper. “I’ll make an important offer for someone special like you. How about you become my secret friend, huh? How about it?”
What? His secret friend? What did he mean by that?
Behind him, the mysterious stranger followed after Goo then stopped in between you and the blonde. He glared at Goo and in an instant, he grabbed onto your arm and pulled you away from Goo’s range. You could now feel the tension spark between them, like tension that started between two street dogs fighting for dominance over a bone they just found. The stranger’s grip on your arm tightened from the anger that started surging through him, until you forcefully yanked back your arm away from him then backed away from the two of them.
“Now hold on a minute. Who the hell do you think you are trying to grab onto me like that? I don’t even know you!”
The dark haired stranger scoffed. “You should be grateful that I tried to get you away from whatever that idiot was trying to get you involved in. However, I apologize. I don’t think I introduced myself. My name’s Jong Gun Park, and I’m willing to take you under my care to become one of my greatest masterpieces.”
You blankly stared at Gun in disbelief.
Huh?

Tekken — Random thoughts
Okay, but Nina and Jin in Tekken 6? I simply love them. Tekken 6 gave (not just me but some other people too) the foundation for an amazing ship.
A respectful relationship that started with work, and the Scenario Campaign showed their closeness and confidence, without losing their professionalism and focus on Jin's goal.
Story-wise, Tekken 6 is… interesting, to say the least. I don't know, I still have mixed feelings about the direction they gave Jin's development and what he was like since Tekken 3.
I can't say that I like that in Tekken 6 he became a war criminal and did such aberrations, when Azazel's problem could have been addressed in another way; because actually, I don't like it at all.
But on the other hand, I don't totally hate the concept itself. I just find it a little hard to digest.
What I can save (or at least try to) is that, from a personal opinion, I don't think he did it because it's the destiny of bearers of Mishima blood to be corrupted. Because, in fact, I don't think Jin was corrupted by having Mishima blood or by the influence of the Devil Gene.
I think he did everything out of his conscience. A twisted, fucked up and terrible way of doing things, but by conscience at the end. Because if we go to the fact, he always struggled and fought against the influence of the curse, and tried to keep it at bay as much as he could (in despite of his T3 and T4 endings, in T5 vs. Hwoarang, in T7 in the desert)… well, in the end of Scenario Campaign we could see how Jin consciously used the power of the Devil Gene (without turning into Devil) to defeat Azazel.
It's a bummer that they "ruined" Jin like that, but it was an interesting chapter in Tekken history.
Anyway, before starting to wander more than necessary… I know that Tekken: Blood Vengeance and the Tekken Comic by Titan Comics aren't canon either, but Nina and Jin roles in each one are a good addition for this dreamy ship (especially in the comics).
And no, my point isn't that the base of the ship has to be that the woman has to do the whole work and being his support 24/7 (a thing that usually happens in the Japanese culture: the female character being just a bland sidekick with no depth and the protagonist's love interest; just as in mostly of shonens, for example), or because it's just the job she was hired for… But because both of them could relate to each other: both suffering child abuse from a close family member, both having family members they dislike, both having lost a family member they loved, both having suffered and survived Ogre's attack, and both having a mostly lonely path in life… because they know they're not the best company and their methods are very questionable.
Feelings aren't part of their lifestyle and not allowing themselves to open their hearts (because having feelings means their goals be compromised), is a fact. And it's a fact that a ship like this will never happen in canon, yet I always loved their genuine mutual trust and respect. It's far away from the Japanese culture's typical cliché of the badass lonely boy and the cute submissive girl who has a huge crush on him, is ghosted during most of the series and wants to "save" him but just meddles, resulting annoying most of times. It reminds me to someone… Wait!!
Alright, speaking more seriously now… Tekken 6 turned 14 years some days ago (especifically for PS3 and XBox, on October 30th), and this was a good opportunity to talk about an underestimated and unapreciated OTP.
I'm very intrigued about what's going to happen in Tekken 8, and the path of both of them when Bamco already revealed the roster's bios. Nina working for Kazuya doesn't make sense if we take into account her relationship with Jin during Tekken 6, the fact that she failed on purpose for Lars and Lee to protect Jin from Heihachi and... taking as bonus the non-canonical comics and BV.
Possibly developers will take the path of Street Fighter x Tekken's story? Nina working with Kazuya but undercover, for Jin's instructions? Because no one can deny how amazing was Jin trusting someone since the beginning, spending time with that someone and being able to share thoughts... even if it's just professionaly.
P.s.: I feel the luckiest guy alive, since I have the privilege of writing this wonderful ship on Twitter... I mean, X. My dearest friend @carade0jete and I roleplay as Nina and Jin, respectively, since almost five years. An amazing journey that still goes on and will last until that app is either ruined or closed by El*n M*sk. Love you, bb. ♥️✨

Part 1: Exposition (Raphael x Reader)
You guys voted for Raphael, I originally was leaning more toward Mikey. Might throw some Mikey x Reader moments in here for the 26.4% because I know you guys are starving.
I will be trying to update weekly. Already working on a fourth chapter. I have had this sitting on a backburner for like, a year. Just been so busy...
Anyway, here's this disaster!
(all characters are aged up + this is like a combo of 2012 and bayverse movies)
----------
Why couldn’t you remember how you got here?
You were kneeled before your commander, your leader, respectfully gazing at the foot of her throne. You felt a little lightheaded and for some reason you and whatever article of clothing that you had on was pretty damp, almost as if you had been in the rain moments before being summoned. You didn’t have enough time to dwell on the strange scenario as you watched Karai unfold her legs and come to a bold stance. You couldn’t help but slowly lift your head to look at her properly, but she moved quickly. She stopped in front of you and snatched up your chin to force you to look at her.
“My father was right to have pulled the plug on that stupid little experiment,” she seethed at the mere blank stare she received. “You have no idea of how much of a waste you’ve been!”
You remembered how unprovoked Karai’s wrath could be and you figured this was another one of those moments in which you had no idea what the hell she was going on about. Still, you had no choice but to try and avert your gaze whilst humbly apologizing. It wasn’t enough to prevent her from slamming her knee right against your throat.
You collapsed in a choking mess at her feet while she berated you for being a weak, pathetic, waste of time, effort, and money. Her father should have gotten rid of you before you became even more of a problem instead of leaving half of his attempts at destroying the Hamato clan unfinished, yet to be completely discarded. She kicked you in the stomach once you began to catch your breath again, then turned to her second in command who coolly watched the scene unfold before him.
“You and her are going to fix this,” she said pointedly. “Find it! Bring back that freak so that I can finish what my father couldn’t.”
Once she left the room, Tiger Claw sighed as he came to your aide. You were more than able to endure petty attacks like that, and because of this, he knew that Karai had put a little more effort into hurting you more than normal. You were calm now, aside from the occasional cough as you were brought to your feet and scooped in another direction. The giant feline beside you muttered something in what you recognized to be Japanese, although it was too quiet for you to catch.
It wasn’t long before you were brought to a small dark room, if you could even call it a room, that was illuminated by nothing but a large oil lamp that was placed in the corner. Your memories were starting to become a little less of a haze. You remembered this being your room. Before Shredder’s demise, he had given this space to you, his hand-picked chūnin – his once perfectly obedient ninja. There was nothing but a less than comfortable-looking cot, a small stack of books, the oil lamp, and your custom made ninjato.
You noticed there was a neatly folded black uniform placed at the end of your cot and knew that that was why you were brought here. Tiger Claw didn’t say another word as he stepped out of view whilst you prepared for whatever the night had in store for you.
You easily ripped the wet article of clothing from your body after realizing it was nothing more than a disposable gown. Curious, you called out to your comrade who grunted in return.
“What happened?” you asked softly, now observing the lack of battle scars that once littered your body.
You were met with silence. Your brows furrowed as you poked your head out of your room to look at him. He always looked cold and brooding, but he seemed more conflicted at that moment than anything.
You break the uneasy silence with a soft tone, “Takeshi?”
His ears flickered at that. At his sides, his fists clenched before he glanced at you.
“What do you last remember?” he asked in a hard, cold tone while looking away once he caught a glimpse of your bare shoulders.
You realized your indecency and hurriedly began getting dressed, still pondering his question. You don’t quite remember going to sleep, let alone waking up. You were just barely gaining consciousness on the floor before Karai. Before that, you remembered being escorted to Stockman’s lab by some of the Foot-bots. He ran a bunch of tests on you, though it all went blank right about when you were pricked with a needle. You relayed this information to Tiger Claw and he informed you that this occurred today. You then stepped into the corridor maskless, yet fully dressed and armed.
“We must get going,” he announced, indicating to you that he would not be speaking more on the matter. He didn’t wait for a response as he turned around and began heading out. You huffed, obediently trailing behind him. You had zero clue who or what you were supposed to be retrieving, though you knew there would be absolutely hell to pay if you failed to do so.
_ _ _
April was on her way to visit the turtles just before they went out for patrol. She had missed movie night due to her date with Casey and figured that showing her face along with a couple of pizzas would restore the peace because boy did they take movie night seriously. It was a silly idea – to be one of the most wanted people by the Foot clan and the Kraang, yet to still decide to roam the streets at night unattended. However, she was a grown woman who could surely handle one night alone. If anything were to go wrong, she would simply drop a pin to Donatello and her friends would come to her aid.
As she shifted one of the pizza boxes that threatened to tip over, she felt her T-Phone slip out of her coat pocket. Though she tried to watch her step, she managed to end up kicking it right into the alley beside her.
“I do it to myself sometimes,” April muttered to herself, peering into the narrow space. It was a dead end, and thankfully empty.
She awkwardly kneeled, balancing the boxes in her free hand while she went to grab her device from the ground. Her breath hitched when a clear, watery substance dripped onto the back of her hand which froze her in place. Slowly, she tilted her head back and shrieked in terror. She had seen many strange and scary things, but the sight of this feral mutant took the cake.
It was a spider-like woman with eight prickly black legs that worked to keep its large arachnid form stationary between the two walls, while the feminine-human torso that protruded from the front dangled with its furry human arms hanging limp towards the ground. As her widened eyes stared in horror, four beady black eyes glared back at her, and a human pair attempted to blink away tears that fell freely. The creature’s jaws parted slowly as it eerily whispered her name, inching unnervingly closer.
‘Yeah… this alleyway is definitely occupied,’ she thought briefly.
Cursing, April snapped out of her state of paralysis and fumbled with the T-Phone for a split second before deciding to ditch it and the pizzas as she bolted back in the direction that she came from. She had only made it so far when she felt something latch onto the back of her coat and begin reeling her back. It didn’t take long for her to piece together that the giant mutant spider had caught on to her with its web. She quickly shook off the article of clothing, looking back to eyeball the distance between herself and her new foe. The spider was now on the ground, human hands clawing at the corners of the alley to keep its body hidden; those long legs were still working on tugging on the web that had her coat on the other end.
She took this small opportunity to put some more distance between them and successfully made it to the end of the block with no further attempts at slowing her down. She looked back again and was surprised to see Tiger Claw and a Foot member tackle the mutant back into the alley. She covered her ears when she heard a ghastly wail and ran to find the nearest manhole. There was no way she was going to stay to investigate.
—
“I hate spiders,” you grumbled, rubbing the sticky residue from the webs onto your thighs. Tiger Claw said nothing as he watched the spider writhe against her restraints. You noticed how she slightly tensed upon hearing you speak but thought nothing of it as you moved to stand beside your comrade.
It had been somewhat of a lengthy battle against the mutant and you weren’t ashamed to admit that it probably would have been longer had the feline not been present. Perhaps it would have been even shorter if he had not been going fairly easy on her. The thought of this surprised you. You were also surprised that nobody had managed to witness this secret battle, yet grateful all the same. You hated having to take care of witnesses.
Your hand is gentle against the fur on his muscular forearm, grabbing his attention.
“You’ve been very quiet,” you stated. He brushed your fingers off of him faster than you had placed them there.
“You know nothing, do you?” he scoffed, beginning to tighten the restraints that were a combination of wire and the spider’s own webs, so that he could return to headquarters.
“So you're giving me the silent treatment because I’m not a mind reader?” you retorted.
He seemed to take some time to ponder his sudden frustration with you, however, hearing his true name being croaked reminded him of where his anger should be placed. He ignored your surprise at the mutant knowing his name and placed his paw on top of her twitching head. “She must pay, [Y/N],” he declared, further confusing you.
The spider made an eerie whining noise, clearly growing weary from its aggressive attempts to gain freedom and still trying to tangle the two of you up as it started to still itself.
“For what? Who are y-“
“Karai,” he barked, head snapping towards you. “She did this to you.”
You felt your heart drop, although you weren’t completely aware of what he meant. With wide eyes, you watched his tall form stride towards you before he suddenly snatched your mask off and shoved it against your chest. As you caught it, he grabbed your wrists with one paw and pulled you towards the mutant. A pair of her eyes widened with recognition and the longer you stared at one another, the harder it became to hear what Tiger Claw was saying to you over the sound of your own beating heart.
“You’re the experiment she spoke of!” he exclaimed, already growing angrier with every word. “Before the Foot bots, there was you. Shredder was going to make hundreds of copies of you to be his loyal henchmen since the others were incompetent before he allied with the Kraang.”
You started trying to pull out of his grasp. He wasn’t letting up. He wasn’t even looking at you, he was looking right at her. “You’re lying,” you all but growled, clawing at his arm.
“After the death of Shredder, Karai’s hatred for you only grew. She and Stockman toyed with you for so long and turned you into this,” he gave his attention to you and continued, “and they’re going to do it again. They will keep cloning you, mutating you, and making you suffer until she deems you strong enough.”
You managed to break free of his hold, though doing so caused you to stumble and fall flat on your behind. “T-Takeshi, you’re lying!” you repeated, however even you knew that you were in denial. You were beginning to feel as though you were suffocating from this new knowledge, but couldn’t possibly be true. You are you. You’re not a clone, and you’re definitely not some monster freak spider.
Tiger Claw could see your distress and hoped you would eventually come to your senses and focus on the bigger picture: Karai must pay. Huffing, he picked up the mutant by the bend of one of its long legs and spared her one more glance. She was once one of the only people he would dare call a friend, and now a failed mutagen experiment that has no control over her own actions. He hated seeing her this way, and he knew she hated being this way. The little humanity that she had left made her cry all the time. He was somewhat relieved, to say the least when she managed to kill a few of Stockman’s helpers before escaping.
“You have been given another chance. Join me, and together we shall seek vengeance.”
With those words, he put his jet pack to use for the first time tonight and left you alone with your own thoughts. Despite what Karai had said to you earlier beginning to make a lot of sense and matching what Tiger Claw spoke of, you still had so many questions. How many of you are there? Could you even call yourself [Y/N]? Are all of your memories even real? Were you really destined to become like your… mutant self? Why you?
You picked yourself up off of the ground and stared at a messy pile of trash and pizza boxes just at the beginning of the narrow space. You could suddenly hear some faint ringing from a device somewhere nearby, momentarily snapping you out of your daze. You had almost forgotten that you two let the girl, April, get away. Perhaps she would return for her things with help. You were quick to get rid of what little evidence of your presence remained before disappearing into the night.
Had you stayed any longer, you would have been spotted by four very angry turtle brothers…
