I think you can make a case for several different moments we see in the series, but IMO it happened when John nodded his head at the pool and wordlessly agreed to die with Sherlock.

At least, that was the moment for me on my very first watch through where I said out loud "Oh, this is a love story."

PART ONE HERE

“You will become the protagonists of your own fairy tales…”

Hello everyone!

So…how about that most recent update in EN?! With everyone on the Isle of Sages currently in a deep slumber, I thought it’d be fun to explore just what my ocs are dreaming of. So I’ll be devoting the next few days of posts to just that! This part will be devoted to my four Pomefiore ocs. 

What is your oc’s ideal dream world?

Danica’s dream begins during spring break, she and Vil visit Pyroxene together. On their first night, they attend a production of Don Quixote by the Pyroxene Royal Ballet, with Fiona playing the principal female role. In Danica’s perfect dream world, Fiona is still alive and her ballet career is flourishing. She’s still the main face of Ledelle Cosmetics but encourages Danica’s desire to have more of a hand in helping their parents with the company. The day after the performance, Danica takes part in a spring promotional photoshoot and another commercial filming for her family. 

In real life, she did this with Neige (again), much to her and Vil’s dismay. But in this perfect dream world, Danica does this spring promotion with Fiona by her side. The sisters truly enjoy working together and the spring promotion is a massive success. Their parents are also much kinder and more supportive of Danica without having to constantly compare her to Fiona. Toward the end of spring break, Vil takes Danica to meet his father and he takes her jewelry shopping. Their relationship also flourishes and in this dream world, Danica never makes her transfer to Diasomnia, because the events between books 6 and 7 never happened.

It probably goes unsaid that in Sidonie’s perfect dream world, she is Pomefiore’s dorm leader. While she has found some fufillment as Vil’s vice dorm leader post book 6, taking his place is still her true goal. So her dream begins with the announcement that Vil has decided to step down. There is great pomp in her accession with Vil removing his crown and ceremoniously placing it upon her head. He tells her that while he didn’t think much of her at first, over the last year and a half, she has proven her intelligence and tenacity has earned Vil’s respect. He's confident he’s leaving Pomefiore in good hands. 

Afterward, the dorm holds a reception in her honor and Trey and Sinclair congratulate her on her promotion. When asked who she has in mind for her vice dorm leader, Sidonie says she’s thinking about either Farron or Epel. Of all my oc’s dreams, Sidonie’s is the one most likely to become reality in time. 

Like Taima, Farron’s life is already pretty satisfying. There are some things that could be better, but for the most part, Farron is pretty happy. But there is one thing in Farron’s life that he wishes could be different. One thing he wishes for more than anything else in the world. His dream begins with him, Sidonie, Danica and Maximilian sitting together at the spelldrive championship between NRC and RSA. Danica and Maximilian cheer wildly for Heloise when she takes the field but Farron is only watching Andrew who, in Farron’s perfect dream world, is an NRC student playing on their team.

 Andrew initially wanted to attend NRC but it’s implied that he couldn’t afford to go and the headmage of RSA offered him a full scholarship to play spelldrive. Andrew’s skills prove instrumental and for the first time in decades, NRC wins. At the celebrations later while everyone is congratulating Andrew and the other NRC players, Andrew opts to spend most of his time with Farron, culminating with them finally sharing their first kiss. Little does Farron know, somewhere else on the Isle of Sages, Andrew is dreaming of something very similar, with Farron being the one to attend RSA. 

Maximilian is another one who is pretty satisfied with his life and any changes he’d make aren’t very dire. His dream also begins during spring break with Jade and Floyd inviting him to visit the Coral Sea. Jade gives Maximilian a potion to help him breathe underwater and he has an incredible time exploring the ocean and collecting gems and other minerals that can’t be found on land.

There’s that post that’s like ‘everyone should get into a tiny niche fandom at least once’ fully agree, that was really fun -- but I would like to add that everyone should get into a fandom where their opinions run counter to major fanon because it really teaches you about sticking to your guns and trusting your interpretation of the text without having to rely on peer validation

when you’re in the shower, he’s sat on the lid of the toilet on his phone (watching those rug cleaning videos) enjoying your faint singing under the stream of water, the smell of your body wash on the cloud of steam- ready to pass you a towel or get your back.

when you’re at your desk, working from home or studying, he’s just on the other side of it reading the paper with one outstretched leg tangled with both of yours. he’s dead quiet when you’re on a call, just happy to be around.

when you’re doing laundry, collecting the clothes in the hamper and crouching to stuff them into the washer- turning around and accidentally colliding with a thick wall of muscle.

“sorry, love”

he steps aside but you can hear his soft footfalls as he continues to follow you throughout your home.

when you’re both watching something on the couch, what starts as his pinky locked with yours turns into his arm around your waist. that turns into your head on his chest, which culminates with you falling asleep in his lap with his cheek on your head and soft snores emanating from his lips.

when you grocery shop, you push the trolley but his chest is to your back, arms either side of you and hands clasped over yours on the handle. you can thank his military training for his uncanny ability to tell exactly when you’ll stop walking.

when he wakes up in the middle of the night, on a rare occasion when you’ve managed to slip out of bed without him realising, he’s immediately in a panic calling your name.

“in here, my love”

as soon as his heart settles, he realises the bathroom light was probably a dead giveaway. you’re taking a wee, you’ll be back in a minute.

that doesn’t stop a sleepy simon from leaning in the doorframe, shielding his eyes from the big light as he waits for you to finish up.

even on the short walk back to bed, you can feel fingers twisted in the back of your shirt- almost like you’re leading the way.

minute you’re both on the mattress, you’re being wrapped up in his arms, slotting you perfectly into the curve of his front- almost like you’re made for him.

I remember discussing Tintin casting choices with a friend from Germany and remarked how it was odd he often has an English accent in adaptations rather than a Belgian one, and my friend just replied "that's because Tintin gives incredibly strong English boy energy (derogatory)"

Here in the UK there's a lot of weird classism tied into accents. Today accent diversity and representation in broadcasting is actively pursued but in Tintin's time there certainly was a preferred accent to have.

IMO I don't think he knows for sure, and I don't think he ever really suspected John back when it initially happened.

Though it wouldn't surprise me if, years later, he woke up out of a dead sleep with the abrupt realization and said "OHHHH."

Hello everyone!

So…how about that most recent update in EN?! With everyone on the Isle of Sages currently in a deep slumber, I thought it’d be fun to explore just what my ocs are dreaming of. So I’ll be devoting the next few days of posts to just that! Starting with my Heartslabyul and Scarabia ocs. Fair warning, some of these ARE sad! 😭

What is your oc’s ideal dream world?

Post book 6, Crisanta has only one major trouble, that soon her younger stepsister will soon be entering NRC for her freshman year. The largest source of anguish for Crisanta has always been her stepfamily and how her father essentially abandoned her, her mother and sister to have a family with another woman. And since her stepmother is a powerful mage, Crisanta’s main reason for studying magic is so that one day she can surpass her in skill. 

Her perfect dream world is rather simple. She and her sister are spending their spring break making a court ordered visit to their father and stepfamily, much to their chagrin. While having dinner, her stepsister announces that she will not be attending NRC after all but will instead be going to RSA. Crisanta is already relieved by this but when her stepmother makes a snide comment about NRC being a school for delinquents, Crisanta retorts that her magical skills have more than doubled since attending NRC. Her stepsister demands that she proves it and they have a magical duel that Crisanta wins. Her sister is thrilled but both her stepsister and stepmother are very embarrassed by this, not realizing just how much Crisanta has improved. Later, Crisanta calls up Ione and they arrange to hang out together, having fun outside the confides of school, which is always a dream come true for both girls. 

Ione, Sinclair, Taima and Iman under the cut! 

Ione’s dream begins back at the start of the school year, as she’s preparing for the black carriage to pick her up from home and take her to NRC. In real life, no one was home when she left and when she called her father to tell him she was leaving, he snapped at her because he was busy at work and coludn’t be bothered. This harshness greatly affected how she was feeling when she arrived at NRC and she admittedly gave the cold shoulder to most of those who reached out to her, including Crisanta. Riddle took an immediate liking to Ione though.

In her perfect dream world, her mother is still alive and she and her eldest sister help Ione get ready to leave for NRC. Yolanda helps her daughter with her ceremonial robes makeup and reiterates over and over how proud she is of Ione for being accepted into such a prestigious arcane academy. Yolanda and Estelle give Ione one last hug and the black carriage takes her away. During the orientation, Riddle still takes a liking to Ione but she and Crisanta also hit it off right away. Ione also makes friends with Deuce and needless to say, Ace doesn’t exist in her dream world. 

In Sinclair’s perfect dream world, his overblot never happened and he’s still dorm leader of Heartslabyul. He’s successfully begun his fourth year at NRC and is taking off from his senior internship to welcome the new freshmen into his dorm. Riddle is still around but in Sinclair’s perfect dream world, he’s far less pedantic and sharp-tonged. Instead having a personality far more like how he is post-overblot. 

And surprisingly enough, Sinclair and Riddle get along reasonably well. The truth is Sinclair does respect Riddle’s magical skill and meticulous nature, albeit secretly. And if the younger hand’t ousted him and “got in the way” of Sinclair’s friendship with Trey, it’s likely they might have even become friends themselves. At the end of the Heartslabyul welcome party, Sinclair and Trey discuss dorm matters as Trey has taken the reins by acting as dorm leader in Sinclair’s absence. Sinclair decides that since he’ll soon be graduating, it’s time to make Trey’s new position official. Trey becomes Heartslabyul’s new dorm leader and Sinclair suggests that he might want to make Riddle his vice. Also in Sinclair’s dream world, he is still on good terms with Sidonie, but has no interest in seducing her. 

For the most part, Taima’s life is already perfect to her. She gets along well with her family, has good friends and enjoys being a Scarabia student. And the things that she’d prefer be different in her world are not very dire. So in Taima’s perfect dream world, the only major difference is that her siblings and Minette all attend NRC with her rather than going to RSA. Lilianne is in Pomefiore with Danica, Mateo is in Savannaclaw and Minette is in Heartslabyul. 

Taima’s dream also takes place during the interdorm spelldrive tournament and instead of Scarabia losing, they come in third place. The reason they do so well is because they don’t have the bad luck of going up against Diasomnia right off the bat and Taima still plays very well. She even plays against her brother and leads Scarabia to victory against Savannaclaw, much to Leona’s chagrin. Scarabia still loses out to Diasomnia but she’s in much better spirits about it and a certain Diasomnia cabbage head even commends her. Much to her secret delight. 

Post book 6, Iman has begun to wise up to certain realities of the world and currently, her biggest worry is what will become of her in her third year. For the longest time, her family has been dropping hints that she should take a more personal interest in Kalim. And Kalim’s father, keen to increase his political influence, really wants his son to marry into the royal family. While Iman has never really had an interest in Kalim as anything beyond friendship, lately, she has begun to see it as a reality but not for the best reasons. She doesn’t love Kalim, but she wishes to have influence in the Asim family, enough influence to convince Kalim to set Jamil and his family free. 

But in her ideal dream world, none of this is a concern. The Vipers aren’t servants and Jamil is Scarabia’s dorm leader. Iman is at his side as his vice. Though Kalim is a regular student, the three are on far better terms and  even friends. Jamil is also more receptive of the idea of being Iman’s friend, and maybe even more in time. And needless to say, with Jamil leading Scarabia and given the recognition he deserves, the events of Book 4 never happen.

I actually love the change the show made to when SecUnit shows up in the hub and Ratthi says, "Who is this?" Turns out Ratthi was being cute and SecUnit just took it literally. Brilliant. The galaxy's least reliable narrator strikes again.

This makes me so so so happy as a guy who chews / bites as a stress stim.

The black tag is chewlry as mentioned, (the company is called "ARK chewelry") I am someone who has chewed through cheap chews like dog toys but this black tag has held up. I've always imagined Tommy chewing things just cause I relate to him a lot but I love Tubbo so much and I don't know how I never thought of this. The metal tags are a sound stim, I can shake them so they jingle like critter tags or just I like the jingle sound.

would you like a mini headcanon?

Tubbo does that thing goats do where they chew on stuff. He doesn’t do it on purpose, not really, but it is pretty noticeable. He chewed on the corks on potion bottles during the first L’Manberg revolution. He’d chew the edge of his bandages if they came loose while his face was all bandaged up after his execution. He chewed on pens, pencils, erasers, sticky notes, etc. while in office.

Again, he doesn’t do it consciously. He doesn’t think about it at all really. He’s that kid in your English class that idly chewed on the eraser on their pencil but like. On steroids.

He wasn’t aware of the habit when he was younger, only really having it brought to light by Schlatt while he worked under him, who used it as a way to demean him (even tho he totally has the same instincts but whatever), then by Wilbur who lashed out more and more often towards the end of his life, then by Dream during his presidency, who used it to make Tubbo feel childish and inadequate in hopes of keeping him easily suggestible and manipulated.

So by the time he started living with Ranboo he was very, very aware of the habit, and he did his best to avoid doing it in front of them or just. In general. But it’s very comforting to him- it was probably somewhat self-soothing when he was younger, during the wars and such- and even as he got older it helped a lot with stress.

It all kinda came to light when Ranboo noticed Tubbo was chewing on their shirts when he was asleep. They didn’t say anything about it at first- it didn’t bother them that much and their sleep shirts were already in less than stellar condition seeing as they’d sometimes wear them during the duo’s late-night adventures out in the woods.

But sue them, they got curious and decided to bring it up. Tubbo got avoidant and defensive, trying to get them to drop it and whatnot. There was a moment where he almost tried or began to try to say something along the lines of “you didn’t really see that, maybe you’re making it up. Maybe you’re mistaking it for something else. Your memory messes with you sometimes”, but cut himself off fast when he realised what he was saying because like- that’s so fucking manipulative and sounds like something Schlatt or, gods forbid, Dream would say. It made him guilty enough to admit to the habit.

Ranboo, obviously, did Not Care. His response boiled down to “oh, ok, yeah that makes sense” and then he moved on with his life.

It was such a startling change from the recent past that it kinda really threw him off. I think Ranboo noticed. He talked to Tommy about it and did his best to read up on hybrids like Tubbo and kinda started slowly encouraging the habit in healthy ways, since it did do so much to help Tubbo with stress.

It was little things: not drawing attention to it when Tubbo started chewing on something, or even mimicking the behaviour himself at times in very small ways (like slightly chewing the back of a pen) so Tubbo didn’t feel so weird.

Then slightly bigger things. He bought him things that were safe to chew on and meant to be chewed on. I kinda imagine like that chewlery stuff? I’ve heard those can be helpful for that kinda thing. (Tubbo has a bee he keeps on his keys)

Anyway, long story short, Tubbo chews on Ranboo’s shirts at night when they cuddle and Ranboo’s sleep shirts are in even worse condition than before and they’re very happy about it.
