#How to clear cache on android

Note
I saw the post about using blokada to block tumblr live on Android, and then you mentioned blocking domains. How do I block domains?
When you install Blokada 5 and launch it, there should be four tabs at the bottom of the screen. The 2nd-left tab has a symbol of three vertical bars, and when you tap on it, says Activity. From here you can view all the domains your phone is trying to connect to. Any domain that you see in green, you can tap on to add it to the Blocked list.
If you launch Tumblr then go back to the Blokada Activity tab, you should see all the domains it's trying to connect to, including ones like "auth.gateway.tumblr-live.com" (yes, your phone connects to this whenever you launch Tumblr, even if you never open the Tumblr Live page). Tap those suckers and block them! (and if they scroll out of view too quickly, use the search 🔍 at the top of the screen to filter for "tumblr" and you should see them all again.)
#After blocking these domains for the first time you may need to quit and reopen Tumblr before the connections start getting blocked#Due to how apps cache domain DNS queries#I don't want to get overly technical here but. When in doubt going to an app's Android Settings page and 1. Force stop 2. Clear cache.#Fixes 90% of problems an app might have#Now for tags! :#Tumblr live#Tumblr#Ad blocking#Block ads#Adblock#Tumblr mobile#Snooze tumblr live#Tumblr ads

Howdy! Forgot to ask this on the quiz, so I'll ask here:
Do you ever get tired of the worldbuilding in your works? Like, do you ever want to include some whimsy magic, but the pre-set rules of the world don't allow you?
Also, I might have missed it, but is the concept of the "players code" a thing in your story? We talking admin panels, lag, etc
Just curious, have a nice day!
Ouuu those are two really good questions! I'll answer the code one first, since i think it's important to the dbhc story and something people should know if they didn't previously notice it:
My understanding/headcanon/conceptualization for Hermitcraft (and dbhc, by extension), is that the world and players are very much comprised of code. Code is to the fabric of their minecraft reality like atoms are to the fabric of our reality, and Admins (opped players, i suppose) have special access to and responsibility over this code: they can see into it and adjust or fix errors to ensure players are kept safe and worlds are managed well.
This is perhaps most obviously seen in the "A Delightful new Partnership begins!" Comic in which Xisuma notices something isn't sitting right in the code around him and takes out his 'control panel/admin panel/console/etc' to investigate. I talk about it in a little more detail in my breakdown post of this comic, where I talk about the possibility of 24 getting access to the code, scrambling it up, and not really knowing how it works enough to put things back right. It's also implied that he may be manipulating/messing with Xisuma's memories by deleting parts of X's player code (I note that i didn't want the glitch effects to necessarily be associated with android-y effects), as we see him forget parts of this encounter and constantly shifting in and out of place as he gives unsettlingly neutral/positive/encouraged answers to a manipulative and intimidating Android 24.
I also love incorporating like, console commands into the comics and au :D such as '/clear queued visual cache' from Don't Let It Reach The Heart :] Though i know it's different since he's an android hehe
I also just think code integration into a 'realistic' interpretation of Minecraft-based stories opens the door for really fun translations of Video Game experiences (i.e., interpreting lag as something like disorientation, disassociation, or misalignment between a player's code and the world's). It's super fun to think about so I love making it part of these stories :D
Regarding worldbuilding! I don't think I've really grown tired of it, as far as I know (assuming you're primarily asking about dbhc, but i would say the following goes for my original works, too): When it comes to storytelling and worldbuilding, I have a very very, uh, logically-tracked mind about things? The reason things happen and the way things work all need to make sense within whatever system i've chosen/come up with/been working in, so I often have a lot of fun (or experience a lot of turmoil) trying to make events and characterizations fit within that world. If I ever have a new idea that doesn't fit in that pre-determined set of rules, I either: move on pretty quickly, not lingering on things that wouldn't be possible so I can find ideas or variations of the non-conforming thought that *would* work, OR try to think of fun ways to make a non-conforming idea work by developing a new rule that still coexists with previous ones (i.e., maybe there's an exception in the way the world works for reason x/y/z, and the more i develop that possibility, it could make previous characters or ideas more complex in turn! It's like a very fun puzzle to me, and it's why i love storytelling so much :D
#awesome questions thank you :D#dbhc#dbhc ask#ask#gardeninaquarium#dbhc mechanics#dbhc xisuma#dbhc android 24#dbhc doc

When we hit “smash cache” would it be possible to show how much we are clearing please?
Also, unrelated, any chance a “mute blog” feature might be added. Sometimes one just wants to temporarily mute a beloved mutual but not unfollow. Thank you!
Answer: Hey there @fluffykittensox!
Let us answer this in two parts.
When we hit “smash cache” would it be possible to show how much we are clearing please?
This already works that way on Android, and it looks possible on iOS. We will continue working on this and get back to you with updates as and when we have them.
Also, unrelated, any chance a “mute blog” feature might be added. Sometimes one just wants to temporarily mute a beloved mutual but not unfollow.
We’ve heard this one quite a lot! The answer, for now, is unfortunately still the same: we’d want to understand this problem a bit better before adding such an option option anywhere. That may seem like the right solution, but maybe not. It’d also add yet more complexity to our already complex set of filtering and muting options, and we’re hesitant to add more complexity there.
Thank you for your questions. Keep ’em coming, people!

Hello! Whenever I save the game close browser/ the tab with the game, when I open the game again my saves are gone. Would you happen to know what the issue is and how to fix this? Had no issues with my android but with an iPhone the saves just disappear
That is an Apple thing, unfortunately. iPhone browsers automatically clear the cache, which is where your browser saves are stored. You can't completely stop your iPhone from clearing its cache, but you may be able to adjust the parameters slightly in your phone settings to make your browser saves stay around for longer.
If you're playing on an iPhone, I highly recommend using Save to Disk to make your saves instead of relying on browser saves. Any save made with Save to Disk will be downloaded to your device. It's extra hassle, but it means your saves are safe.
This goes for every device - regardless of whether you're iPhone, Android, or desktop, if you clear your cache, your browser saves will be lost.
Save to Disk is not a backup of all of your browser saves in one go - it only makes one save at a time. It functions exactly like the browser save button, it's just changing where the save is being downloaded to. You can rename the save file after its downloaded.
If you want to backup your browser saves, you will have to load each save individually and make a new manual save for each one.

I really think there'd be something initmate about taking apart an android without powering them down first. Watching how they fidget nervously while you strip them, layer by layer, until you carefully pull away their synthetic skin to reveal their true selves to you.
How the lenses that was once their eyes stay focused on you, small blinking lights and glowing circuits now exposed and it's made them so much more sensitive. Every touch that has you meticiously moving bundles of wires around and carefully removing screws makes them shiver and their voice box begin to glitch and stutter like a dying laptop.
And how they'd gasp any time you accidentally shocked yourself on their inner components while wrist-deep inside their chassis, reaching deeper and deeper until you find their core. Where it's almost too easy to make them climax so hard that it forces a system shutdown. And by the time they reboot, you would have finished putting them back together. You give them a quick systems check and clear their cache to help them relax afterwards and maybe watch a movie together.

Use it for:
Downloading games or patches safely
Accessing region-locked sites or offers
Casual browsing and streaming
Not ideal for:
Protecting against DDoS in multiplayer games
Encrypting traffic outside the browser (e.g., Steam, Riot, etc.)

How to Remove or Disable YouTube on Samsung Devices
If you're looking to remove the YouTube app from your Samsung device, it's important to note that YouTube is often a pre-installed system app, which means it cannot be completely uninstalled through standard methods. However, there are several approaches you can take to disable or remove it from your device.
1. Disable the YouTube App
Disabling the app prevents it from running and removes it from your app drawer.
Open Settings.
Navigate to Apps.
Scroll down and select YouTube.
Tap on Disable.
Confirm by tapping Disable again.
While in the YouTube app settings, tap on Storage.
Select Clear Data and Clear Cache.
This method doesn't uninstall the app but prevents it from running and frees up storage space.
2. Remove YouTube Using ADB (Advanced Users)
For a more permanent solution, you can use Android Debug Bridge (ADB) to uninstall the app. This method requires a computer and some technical knowledge.
Steps:
Enable Developer Options on Your Phone:
Go to Settings > About phone.
Tap on Build number seven times to activate Developer Mode.
Return to Settings and access Developer options.
Enable USB debugging.
Set Up ADB on Your Computer:
Download and install the Minimal ADB and Fastboot tool.
Connect Your Phone to the Computer:
Use a USB cable to connect your device.
When prompted on your phone, allow USB debugging.
Uninstall YouTube via ADB:
Open the ADB command interface on your computer.
Enter the following command to list connected devices: nginxCopyEditadb devices
Once your device is recognized, enter: cssCopyEditadb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.google.android.youtube
This command removes the YouTube app for the current user. Note that this method doesn't delete the app from the system partition, so a factory reset might restore it.
3. Remove Your YouTube Account
If your goal is to disassociate your account from the YouTube app:
Open the YouTube app.
Tap on your profile icon in the top right corner.
Select Manage your Google Account.
Navigate to the Data & privacy tab.
Scroll down and tap on Delete a Google service.
Enter your password when prompted.
Next to YouTube, click the trash bin icon.
Follow the on-screen instructions to permanently delete your YouTube account.
Be aware that this action will delete all your YouTube data, including playlists, subscriptions, and history.
⚠️ Important Considerations
System Apps: YouTube is often a system app on Samsung devices, meaning it can't be fully uninstalled without rooting your device.
Rooting Risks: Rooting can void your warranty and may lead to security vulnerabilities. Proceed with caution.
Alternative Solutions: If you want to limit YouTube usage without removing it, consider setting up Parental Controls or using Digital Wellbeing features to restrict access.
By following these methods, you can effectively remove or disable the YouTube app on your Samsung device, depending on your needs and technical comfort level.

Android users this is your reminder to clear your Tumblr's cache because it will take up an ungodly amount of storage and slow down your phone
How to do it:
1. Go to the Tumblr icon on your home screen
2. Press and hold
3. Select "app info" (or the symbol that looks like an i with a circle around it)
4. Go to storage & cache
5. press "clear cache"
Cache does not hold any important documents or files. Cache is just a fancy term for "the pictures that loaded on your screen while scrolling through Tumblr that are now saved to your phone to make it easier to load next time." Doing this with other apps is a quick and easy way to free up storage. It will eventually fill up again

So today Spotify mobile (Android) was being An Butt and loading at a tranquilized snail's pace. I thought, "ehhhn, maybe it's that I'm out of high-speed data, Firefox mobile is being a bit slow too." Nonethless I cleared cache and uninstalled/reinstalled a couple of times, because not having music while I'm at the job where I'm in a van with a bunch of dudes with no volume control is agony. (While Spotify was doing this I pulled up YouTube on Firefox. Which kept glitching out too, but this is to be expected.)
But then I got back to Wi-Fi and it was still. So slow.
Anyway here's how to fix it, as of November 21st 2024:
Tap your avatar (In my case it's an S for Sparky since I never uploaded one, in the top left corner of the app)
Settings and Privacy
Data-Saving and Offline
Scroll all the way down to the bottom
Change Storage Location from SD Card to Device Storage
Rejoice! Music streaming service with shitty owners will work again

Why Does My Cash App Keep Closing Out?
If you’ve been using Cash App and suddenly find it closing or freezing frequently, it can be both frustrating and inconvenient. There are several possible reasons why your Cash App keeps closing, ranging from software issues to account-related problems. This article will dive deep into why your Cash App keeps closing and how to resolve it. Additionally, we will explore scenarios where your Cash App account has been closed and how to address these challenges.
Common Reasons Why Your Cash App Keeps Closing Out
1. Software Bugs or Glitches
One of the most common reasons behind an app continuously crashing or closing is due to software bugs or glitches. Cash App might close unexpectedly due to temporary issues within the app itself, outdated versions, or a problem with your device’s operating system.
2. Cache and App Data Overload
Over time, the Cash App stores temporary data, known as cache, to improve performance. However, if too much data accumulates, it can slow down the app or cause it to malfunction, leading to Cash App closing out suddenly. Clearing the app’s cache and stored data can often resolve this issue.
3. Internet Connectivity Issues
Poor or unstable internet connections are another frequent culprit. If your network fluctuates while you’re using Cash App, the app might crash or fail to load. Why does my Cash App keep closing? It could simply be that your connection to the internet is weak or intermittent, causing the app to fail.
4. Operating System Incompatibility
If you’re using an older version of Android or iOS, the Cash App may not function as smoothly. In some cases, outdated operating systems can cause apps like Cash App to shut down unexpectedly. Keeping both your device’s OS and apps up to date is crucial for maintaining proper functionality.
5. Account-Related Issues
If your Cash App account has been closed, the app might shut down or stop functioning properly. Cash App can shut down accounts if there are violations of its Terms of Service, suspicious activities, or verification failures. If you’ve sent Cash App to a closed account, this may also cause temporary disruptions in the app’s performance while the issue is being processed.
Steps to Fix Cash App Closing Out
1. Update Your Cash App
If your Cash App keeps closing, the first step is to check whether you’re using the latest version of the app. Outdated versions can have bugs or compatibility issues with new OS versions. Go to your device’s app store, search for Cash App, and ensure you have the most up-to-date version installed.
2. Clear Cache and App Data
If you suspect a cache or data overload is the issue, clearing the cache may resolve the problem. Follow these steps to clear the app’s cache on Android or iOS:
Go to your device’s Settings.
Navigate to Apps and find Cash App.
Select Clear Cache and Clear Data.
After this, reopen the app and see if the issue persists.
3. Check Your Internet Connection
Ensure you have a stable and strong internet connection when using Cash App. Try switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data or vice versa to see if the connection is the issue. A reliable connection will help the app run smoothly without unexpected crashes.
4. Update Your Operating System
If your Cash App keeps closing due to OS incompatibility, it’s essential to update your device’s operating system. Go to your phone’s settings and check for software updates. Installing the latest update may help resolve compatibility issues.
5. Contact Cash App Support for Account-Related Issues
If your Cash App account has been closed or flagged, the app may crash due to limitations placed on the account. In such cases, contact Cash App support to inquire about the status of your account. They will help you determine if your account has been closed and assist in resolving any issues that led to the closure.
Why Does My Cash App Account Shut Down?
If you’ve received a notification that your Cash App account has been shut down, it’s likely due to a violation of Cash App’s Terms of Service. Common reasons for shut down Cash App accounts include suspicious transactions, multiple accounts, or failure to verify your identity.
Sometimes, users mistakenly send Cash App to a closed account, which can result in transaction issues and delays. In such cases, you may need to contact the recipient or Cash App support to recover the funds or ensure proper resolution.
FAQs
1. Why does my Cash App keep closing?
This can happen due to software glitches, excessive cache and app data, internet connectivity issues, or operating system incompatibility.
2. How do I fix Cash App closing out?
Try updating the app, clearing cache and app data, checking your internet connection, and ensuring your device’s operating system is up to date.
3. What should I do if my Cash App account has been closed?
If your Cash App account has been closed, contact Cash App support to understand the reason behind the closure and how to resolve the issue.
4. Why did Cash App shut down my account?
Cash App may shut down accounts due to suspicious activities, violations of its Terms of Service, or failure to complete identity verification.
5. Can I recover money sent to a closed Cash App account?
Yes, if you’ve sent Cash App to a closed account, you should contact Cash App support for assistance in recovering the funds.
Conclusion
Why does my Cash App keep closing is a common question that many users face due to various reasons such as software bugs, poor internet connectivity, or account-related issues. While these problems can be frustrating, most of them can be easily resolved by updating the app, clearing cache, ensuring a stable internet connection, or addressing account closures with Cash App support. This is how it works for me (I'm on android so it might be diff if you're iPhone)
After closing the app, Hold down character AI app until you see app info pop up. Hit both these buttons, and the second one should say clear storage and clear cache (do NOT hit clear storage) just clear cache. You should be good to reopen now. Make sure it's closed, it won't work if you leave it up in the background
