#puella magi madoka magica#I had this anime on my watch list for the longest time and I am so glad I finally watched it#I need to scream with somebody about this#in the beginning I found practically all the girls annoying say for homura#like sayaka I really liked her wanting to figjt for justice and to protect others but her head hottedness kinda pissed me off#madoka has such a good heart and was amazing and so loyal and a good friend but her naiveness I guess pissed me off#same with that yellowed haired magical girl but could also repsect her fighting for justice and to protect others#the red haired girl I could repaect her fighting only for herself becauae it was obvious her attitude stemmed from experience and likely#a tragic past#but her not caring about what happened to others initially regardless also rubbed me the wrong way#lol#with homura I guess that despite being cold aloof and indifferent and obvious having a tragic story most likely she still sought to try and#warn madoka of the reality of being a magical girl#like all these fatal flaws of thr girls is what made them annoying but also good people at heart#idk why homura was the only one who didn't annoy me from beginning to end lol#not to say I hated the other girls no again I may have found them annoying but the tragedy of their fates and decisions was just damn#idk if I make any sense can't form a sequential coherent thought rn lol#i'm sleepy but here I was pelando los ojos cause I need to know what happened next lol#so yes#the other girls were kind of annoying but still tragic and not unlikeable per say but yes homura is best girl#that is all

⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
Three days and three nights passed since they had arrived at King’s Landing. It was almost like they had never left; their routine seemed to pick up exactly where it left off. Their mornings were spent in their solar, their afternoons were spent with Helaena and Alicent, and their evenings were spent as a family. They would embroider, they would gossip, they would talk of weather and of new trends. Valeana found herself in moments of recognition, as if she had lived those moments thousands of times.
“You’ve become a master of your craft, Lady Valeana,” Queen Alicent had said as she walked around her chair to watch her embroider. “You’ve done things with thread I never thought possible.”
“You flatter me, your Grace,” Valeana smiled over her shoulder, and returned to her work. It was nothing unique, nothing new; a dark purple flower that stared at her every day for the last three days when she sat down in the gardens in the exact same place, under the stone rotunda. She had a pot of ink beside her where she would dip the thread to darken in places where shadows were necessary.
It was just the two of them there at the moment. Helaena had left to follow a butterfly that flew by, and Shyla had spotted Aegon passing by the balconies that looked over the gardens. She excused herself and hasn't been heard of since. As for her stepmother and stepsister, they were walking through the garden, likely talking of matters that would bore Valeana.
“I heard you’re now a dressmaker,” Alicent moved around her chair and settled in her own. “I suspect there will be many balls in the following weeks, more than enough opportunities to show your skills.”
Val gave a small smile, “I made a few, but not all. If I made something new for every event, your Grace, I would never leave my quarters.”
“Hm, that is true. And I’d imagine your sisters would demand gowns of their own as well.”
Pale-haired girl gave a humourless laugh, “Oh, they already have, before we even set foot in King’s Landing. But I am not a slave, and so they must suffer with whatever seamstress mother pays for.”
“Would it trouble you terribly if I asked you to make me a dress?”
Valeana stilled as she looked up with a stunned expression, “A-a dress? I-Of course! It would be an honour, your Grace!”
Alicent’s smile was gentle and maternal, her hand reaching out and placing it on Val’s forearm, “You are a treasure, my dear.”
“What kind of dress would you like?”
“A fortnight after the Tourney takes place, I am hosting a grand ball here in the Keep. The theme is creatures, beasts, animals, where people shall dress up as anything they choose, be it plain, magical or mythical.”
“Intriguing… My mind is already reeling at the possibilities.”
“I’m glad you approve. I suspect my husband and children will be dressed as dragons.”
“Naturally.”
“I know I am not a Targaryen, but I do not wish to appear an outlier with my own family.”
Valeana smiled gently and gave her a nod, “A dress for a dragon, then.”
She nodded, “Exactly. A green one; I am still a Hightower.”
The younger girl couldn’t help but chuckle, “Of course, your Grace. I already have some ideas in mind. When do you want to begin?”
“We have time, of course, so when you are ready. I would like to see your ideas, and then we can browse fabrics.”
“I look forward to it, my Queen.”
This was possibly the longest conversation that Val has had with Alicent, she realized. Even as children, it was nothing but small talk, or they’d exchange words when they sat with Helaena. She wasn’t entirely certain the Queen ever liked her, especially after the incident. Aemond got lashes for it, despite his mother begging for him to be spared from the punishment. If she directed any ire onto Valeana, she was unaware of it. Before it happened, Val was always in awe of the Queen’s effortless grace. Both her and Princess Rhaenyra held beauty that felt so ethereal and unreal to her. Valeana wished she could grow up to be as poise and dignified as the Queen Consort, and as tall and proud as the Crown Princess. Alas, she was short, stocky, and the weight of her insecurities were chained on her ankles.
Before an awkward silence could settle between them after the conclusion of their conversation, Alicent was quick to get into what she actually wished to talk to Valeana about.
“I know… I know this is a sensitive subject, my dear, but…” Alicent’s teeth ran over her bottom lip, her eyes were casted down to her hand, still on Valeana’s forearm. “I heard about what was said during supper the other day.”
Valeana turned away, back at her forgotten embroidery, “Ah.”
“Helaena told me,” the Queen added, as if naming the innocent messenger would change anything. “I do not blame you for showing some animus towards Aemond because of what happened. However, I feel that I must defend my son… He was trying. He was trying to make amends with you, Valeana. I hope you can see it.”
The younger girl raised her shoulders as she took a sharp inhale to ground herself. Her eyes were staring steadily at the flower in front of her, her embroidery loop falling onto her lap. The Queen did not know what she asked of her. She did not know the gravity of pain her son inflicted on her.
Alicent’s hand gripped her arm slightly tighter, and she continued.
“Please forgive him, Valeana,” her eyes flickered down, and a shadow of a benign smile appeared on the corner of her lip. “I understand that a broken leg is nothing to bat an eye at, but you’ve healed; you walk again. The evidence of accidents past–”
“I lost my foot, your Grace,” Valeana exhaled, her eyes pinched closed as she held back the words she wished she wanted to say, but couldn’t.
‘Would Aemond forgive Lucerys? Would you allow Rhaenyra to talk to Aemond the same way?’
At Val’s spoken words, Alicent froze, the ghost of her smile gone, and her eyes wide with confusion.
“But– you’re walking. You stand—”
In a slow and languid movement, Val removed her arm from under the Queen’s hand, and pulled up her skirts, revealing her calf, covered in a stocking. With her other hand she leaned over and knocked on the wooden appendage.
“My foot and part of my leg was turning black; it was decaying. They had to amputate it, lest it poison my blood and kill me,” Val swallowed and then unfurled her dress over it again.
The Queen still stared down at Valeana’s skirts, her face ashen, eyes wide, and mouth slightly parted. She had not known… No one had told her. Valeana suspected not many people in Court knew, outside perhaps the Maesters.
“It was not just my leg he had broken, either, your Grace. Aemond betrayed me – or perhaps played me. I’m not sure which. Either way, I thought we were friends all our lives, and in the final seconds of our friendship he had called me a pig and pushed me. Your son had a place in my heart once, your Grace, but that has since been severed along with my leg.”
The silence was painful, it was stifling. For once the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms was at a loss for words. Her eyes migrated to the stone floor, and her lips finally closed into a thin line.
“I am–I am sorry–”
The lump in Valeana’s throat caused her to stand up immediately, “Would you please excuse me, your Grace. I have to– I must make water.”
Alicent looked away, lips shut as she nodded.
And swiftly, Valeana left the gardens, leaving her embroidery forgotten on the floor where her feet stood.

⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
Aegon had spent the better part of the day dodging Shyla Celtigar. The days before were much the same. At first, it was amusing; Aegon loved the attention, but then it got too much, too fast.
Well, it might have been because he encouraged her. It began when she appeared at his solar door, holding a plate of pastries and the desire to speak alone. It escalated when Aegon got the grand idea to test how far Shyla’s affections would go, and his uncontrolled desire to get his dick wet. When it involved his pleasures, he would throw caution to the wind.
It was post nut clarity that made him realize the gravity of the situation. She was on his lap, her fingers wrapped around his member, stroking him vigorously and eagerly, and speaking to him the entire time. He wasn’t paying attention, though. His eyes were shut, his nose pointing to the ceiling as he craned his neck back against the chair. Aegon’s mind was concentrating on pale hair, wide hips, green eyes, and a pair of perfect tits.
“Oh, I cannot wait to have your children, my Prince.”
When the height of his orgasm left him, he opened his eyes to see Shyla (not her) staring at him. Her hands were coated in his seed, and she was looking at it as if she had discovered a precious gem in a stone.
Damn his cock. It so often replaced his head in the worst possible moments. When Aemond was out fending for his life against their nephews and cousins at Driftmark, Aegon had decided to ignore the screams and dragon’s roar he heard outside his window, because he was already balls deep in a serving wench he met at his aunt’s funeral.
This was possibly much worse than that, because now he was the victim. There were nary a place for him to hide in the Red Keep where Shyla Celtigar couldn’t reach him. White cloaks betrayed his location after she batted her long lashes and asked in the sweetest voices, or a Maester or Septa who did not know better would point out the corner that he disappeared behind. Aemond, of course, was far too eager to help Shyla find Aegon, even so much as leading the girl right into the small kitchen he was hiding in.
Fucking Aemond… A traitorous cur, that one. So eager to put his brother under the horse’s hooves when given the opportunity. If only he could crack his marble exterior…
At the moment, Aegon was hiding in a closet of some kind. It was narrow, cluttered with brooms, mops and buckets, and vaguely smelled of vinegar and soap. He heard the sound of swiftly approaching feet, but that was all. He had learned Shyla’s footsteps when they approached, and made note of the noises she would give. She always had her mouth open, and breathed through it loudly. Every once in a while she would talk to herself, or call out his name.
The steps that approached sounded feminine, at least.
Aegon slowly pushed open the door, poking his head out to peer cautiously down the corridor one way, and then turned to look the other way.
“Aegon?” Valeana stood behind him, frozen in place, looking at him incredulously. “What are you–”
Aegon had been startled to see her in an otherwise empty corridor, but then when he heard the pitter-patter of another approaching, he shushed her and clamped a hand over her mouth to listen closely.
“Excuse me, Ser, but have you seen Prince Aegon?” Eyes turning into saucers and panic gripping his throat, Aegon yanked the confused Valeana into the closet with him, keeping his hand firmly over her mouth. Valeana struggled against his hold, curses vibrating against his palm. Aegon pushed his weight on her, eyes wide and pleading, and mouth hiss whispering to her to be quiet.
Shyla’s feet scurried by the door, the shadow of her form could be seen through the crack underneath.
“Aegon~” Shyla sang, “Where are you? Where are you, where are you, my love?”
Aegon looked over at Valeana. She raised an eyebrow at him.
As Shyla walked by the door, Aegon’s muscles relaxed. Her voice and footsteps could still be heard, but he felt safe enough to slowly pull down his hand from Val’s mouth. When he did, he was taken back by the smug look she had on.
“So when’s the wedding?”
He scowled, “Never, if the Gods are kind.”
“Did you tell her that?” Val crossed her arms, pushing herself up against the wall, as far away from his body as possible. Should anyone open the door, her virtue would be compromised. It would save her from a prolonged courtship with strangers, but she did not want to be chained to Aegon Targaryen, the self proclaimed dragoncock.
“No,” the tips of his ears burned, “If I reject her, I fear she may castrate me.”
“Oh, she’d make your cock explode like a sausage on a spit,” Valeana nodded casually, and Aegon stepped away from her in horror and disgust. “My brother had a steward once, Jon, I believe his name was. He rejected her advances quite harshly, and a sennight later, he disappeared.”
“Gods, your sister is a lunatic–”
“It is men who make her loony,” Val then sharply prodded the prince on the shoulder, “What did you do, Aegon?”
He rubbed his shoulder, “I didn’t do– Ow! Stop doing that, I am your prince, I can have your finger chopped off!”
“I already suffered at the expense of my leg at the hands of another Targaryen Prince, do you think I care if I lose a finger–” she jabbed him again, rougher this time. “Now, what in the Seven Hells did you do?”
She was going to jab again, but he swatted her hand away, “Mother’s Tits, alright, woman.” He tossed his hair back, and looked away from her. His adam's apple bobbed before he spoke, “I, uh, might have let her… Pet my dragon.”
Valeana squinted at him, “You let her touch Sunfyre?”
Aegon rolled his eyes and sunk his shoulders in exasperation, “No, I– let her pet my dragon.” He emphasized the words by gesturing towards his crotch.
“Oh-Oh, Aegon! ‘The fuck is wrong with you!” She slapped him upside the head.
“Stop hitting me!”
“I’ll hit you as much as you want, you vile, perverted–” they both ended up swatting each other for a few minutes before more footsteps interrupted their squabble.
“Sh! Sh! Sh!” Aegon put his finger to her lips, and they both froze as the heavy footsteps of a guard walked by the closet. Once it disappeared, Aegon pulled his hand away, and at the same time Val’s fist landed on his shoulder.
“Ah, fuck, woman! Hitting a prince is treason!”
She pointed a finger at him, and he flinched, “You defiled my innocent sister, you deserve more!”
“Innocent?!” He scoffed, “She knew exactly what she was doing. She held my cock like an expert, your sister–” This time, Aegon caught her with his larger hand wrapped around her wrist. He gave her a warning glare, “Your sister took advantage of me.”
“Do you really think I am going to believe that bullshit?!” She twisted her arm, trying to pull it from his grasp, but his vice grip was much stronger than she’d imagined. “Let go of me, Aegon.”
“I’ll let you go if you promise not to hit me.”
She calmed for a moment, sighing through her nose and closed her eyes. Aegon was nearly about to loosen his grip, but her other hand came out of nowhere and slapped him across the cheek. It did not nearly hurt as the punch, given it was not her dominant hand, but it was enough to turn his head and take him off guard. But before she could hit him again, he grabbed her other wrist with his free hand and pushed her against the wall, crossing her arms against her chest.
“Your sister is mad,” Aegon stated while Val tried to push against him, but he put his entire weight on her. Standing a head taller than her, his form was a tower and she had no choice but to crane her neck up at him. The prince found he quite liked this angle, this position. “Do me the favour of diverting her attention away, and I will owe you.”
“I do not need any favour from you, Egg.”
He smiled, grinned, bared his teeth.
“Glad to see we’re on a pet-name basis now, my little crab cake. Y’know, this is quite the compromising position. If your sister  finds us like this, what do you think she’ll do… to you?”
She furrowed her brow, “You wouldn’t dare.”
“Oh, sweetling, if I’m going down, I’m taking you down with me.”
Valeana glared at him, resolute in her stubborn silence. Aegon didn’t waver his stare, but he did move his middle closer to hers until their stomachs were flushed against each other. Val’s face twisted and she tried to wiggle her arms free, but she was stuck between a wall and a dragon.
“Do you hear that,” Aegon’s eyes lifted towards the door, “I think I hear her footsteps coming this way."
“You’re bluffing.”
He grinned wider, then feigned a moan, “Oh~ my Lady V–”
“Shhhhtttt—” Valeana hissed in a panic, waving her useless fingers under his grasp, “Fine! Fine! I’ll help you!”
Chuckling softly, Aegon pulled himself off, “That’s what I thought.” He tilted his head at her as she tried to collect herself. Her chest was heaving, and that was when he realized just how close he was to her chest. Her heavy, soft, peachy mounds… His tongue flicked out over his bottom lip. The Prince quickly ripped his eyes away from her before his cock could take control of his mind again. “Now–”
He was cut off by the distinct voice of Shyla, causing the two of them to catch each other’s panicked eye.
“You say you heard it coming from here?” Shyla’s voice was just beyond the door.
Aegon spun around, trying to find a place for them to hide in the closet, but there was nothing large enough for them to find cover. Except for…
Aegon looked down at Valeana’s dress.
“What are you–” She started to kick Aegon away from her, but he grabbed her leg as he crawled under her skirts.
“Shut up! Don’t move, and stand still!”
Valeana had no choice, because the door was opening. She stood rigidly still, trying to take up as much space as possible to hide Aegon’s legs that were poking from underneath her dress from behind. Flushed and out of breath, Valeana attempted to appear casual in the servant’s closet when the door swung out and revealed the confused face of her sister.

another tierlist because ppl actually liked that first one;
the crème de la crop;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the first 2 eps i thought it was fine, but it didnt really captivate me as much as id hoped. but then ep 3 changed everything for me. i started to think "how could living armour work logically? everything so far has been edible, so this must be too, right?" i actually managed to think of the exact thing that this series did. that really made me realise the worldbuilding in this was something unique, and it only got better and better with each episode. its really managed to captivate me and i look forward to "delicious donderdag" every week :)
ANIME ORIGINAL LETS GOOOO absolutely bonkers show that almost slipped by me because it initially tried to fool its audience into thinking it was a regular dramatic military show. it still is but theres also a giant robot who plays by saturday morning cartoon giant robot rules. if that sounds like tonal whiplash to you, trust me, it is. and its amazing. have i mentioned how homoerotic this one is as well? yeah. originally a tier below this one, but immediately after finishing this post i watched the newest ep. i had to make an exception and edit the list because ep 9 changes everything. i havent been gobsmacked by a show this hard in a while.
(return of the) show(s) that execute their own premise very well;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i havent read the manga for yubisaki to renren so i cant compare, but the quality of this adaptation has been very consistent. you need a little sweet romance every once in a while :) this is one of those series where the characters really grew on me the longer it went on. im always a fan of mixing realistic struggles with romance and this one has been doing it well so far
adaptations that are ok (i read the manga for both of these);
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i've been a mashle fan since before s1 aired. and the anime has some good changes and additions here and there! but its not very consistent in terms of quality, it does that shonen thing where the animation quality suddenly spikes for certain action sequences, but it also frequently had a lot of scenes where they recycle shots a lot and nothing interesting happens on the screen for a considerable amount of time. still! its a fine adaptation. and yeah the op for this. blew tf up lmao? very strange to see happen in real time
i actually rlly like the manga for this one. i read the whole thing up until vol.6 before the season started (all that was available back then) and it made me cry multiple times throughout. i was sort of missing that connection with the show, though some of the later episodes still hit. its mostly to do with the animation quality, which isnt that great unfortunately. the voice actors are knocking it out of the park though
wghere am i;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
is this show good? i. uh. will you hate me if i say yes...? objectively, i know its not that good. especially in the animation department. but if you like other Umatani shows, you'll like this one. it's got the same brand of goofy reactionary humour mixed with gimmicky tacky characters and crazy stupid plot twists. ive been faithfully watching this one each week and I'm afraid i've become very invested. overscientific indeed
bro you fell off...;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i was so beyond excited for this one. i replayed the op a million times, watched each preview, rewatched multiple episodes. and then. ep 5 happened. and i started to realise. oh this show kind of sucks doesnt it? the pacing of the first ep was great, but the rest? way too fast. it became clear with ep 6 that theyre trying to do a double cour show with half the length, which is why they started hauling ass plot-wise. now. i was an arajin apologist for the longest time. but at that point i honestly started to loathe him. even when he stepped up, his praise still felt sort of unearned. and to top it all off, shindou's motivation sucked so he felt like a lousy antagonist. ep6 was better than 5, but it really made me lose my enthusiasm and hope for the series. and right as we were talking about them probably not having time for a filler ep, ep7 happened. feels like a waste of time to do an ep like that when you've still got a whole 2nd arc to go through. but who am i
it started off pretty good honestly. but then chris went to the hospital and it kind of just dwindled from there. this season does so much with characters that have not even been properly introduced like how am i supposed to care about these people if i barely know who they are. the stuff with finn and leo respectively was good though. but the lore dump? lord help me. also vijay just kind of. exists to be there in the background huh? i would not call him a main character they never give him any attention. wendy had another ep again and he didnt get shit. again. also i think finn was stupid as fuck for not listening to lala but again. who am i. i know we cant destroy high card because we need a show but. cmon man.
i am severely behind on these;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
reason why im behind is because most of the eps are a bit heavy so i kept. not watching them. its starting to get rlly interesting though so i'm def gonna catch up this is one of those robo-racism shows so i have to really watch out to see where its going. dont want another marginal service situation...
sorry this is just. a little too boring for me. its charming, sure. but i think this wouldve worked better as something with an 11 min timeslot instead of 23 min. theres just a bit too mu- or well, too little for me to rlly get into this. i think reading it would be more fun for me personally

All that Glitters, Isn’t Gold
NOT ANOTHER ONE! This has also been on Wattpad for the longest time, but not here.
Gabriel looks at the list of his son's monthly expenses and shook his head.
How could his son have fallen for the oldest trick in the book? He raised him right. He made sure he stayed healthy, he spoke multiple languages, he had extracurriculars that would look well on any university, got in with the right crowd, at least til he decided he wanted to go to public school. There, he met that temptress -Marinette Dupain-Cheng. She somehow found her way into his son's heart and his bank account.
Suddenly a door slamming brings him out of his daze.
 'What now?' he sighs.
Gabriel opens his door slightly to see the Marinette grab her coat, as she yells at his son.
"No! I am returning the necklace!" she shouts.
"Didn't you like it? Was there not enough diamonds? Do you prefer rubies or sapphires?" questions Adrien.
"Enough! It's too much!" she shouted, "Yesterday, you bought me $200 worth of chocolates! This, this is too much! We are going to that store and returning it!"
Gabriel watches curiously as Adrien reaches out to her and grabs a slip of paper, before shredding it to ribbons and tossing it in the air like confetti.
"Adrien Agreste! You did not just tear up the receipt!" Marinette shouts.
Adrien stood their proudly, with a smug look on his face, as if he had won.
Gabriel opened the door wider to get a look at the 'show' as he sees the fire in her eyes burn bright.
He watched in awe as she put out the fire raging beneath her skin by taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly.
"Adrien." Marinette called out calmly.
The smug look on his son's face vanished and he watched as he took a step away from his petite girlfriend.
'Interesting.'
"Adrien. I didn't fall in love with you for your money. I don't need to be showered with gifts. I know Chloe was your only friend growing up, but I'm not her. I don't need utterly ridiculous amounts of jewelry or sweets." she spoke, causing his son to chuckle, "God knows I don't need anymore sweets; even if they were delicious."
"Hah! You liked my gift." his son teased.
" Well I couldn't return it! You opened it and ate one!" Marinette states, as she calms down, " Not my point, I love your gifts, but I don't need so many. Adrien, I am fine with movie nights to the theater or just curling up on the couch as you introduce me to new animes. I'm fine with kicking your butt at videogames every other night--"
"My pride isn't. I will beat you!" he interjected.
"Sure." she says, rolling her eyes. "See. This-" the petite girlfriend motions, pointing back and forth between the both of them, "is what I like. Being us. I'm fine with occasionally and by occasionally, I mean once a month, going to a restaurant of your choosing. I'm fine with something like this" as she hold up the new necklace, " on special occasions, like my birthday and such."
"But what if I want to spoil you?" Adrien questioned.
Marinette smiled and hugged her boyfriend, "Then you can spoil me slowly over time. Now, since you ripped up that receipt, I think it's time to teach you a lesson."
Gabriel stood at the top of the stairs as Marinette threw his son his jacket.
"Where are we going?" asked Adrien, hesitantly.
"To get you Ultra Mega Strike 4." she said, waiting for him to get ready.
"I told you, I'm not allowed to spend anymore this month." stated the younger Agreste.
"Exactly!" smiled his girlfriend, "I'm buying it for you."
"What?" Adrien questioned.
"Yep and to make sure you learn your lesson, every time you buy me something....let's say over $100, I'm going to do the same. Even if it means dipping into my babysitting and sewing funds."
"You can't be serious!" his son shouted.
"Oh, I am." she says, noticing Gabriel at the stairs, "Bye, Mr. Agreste, I'll bring him back shortly."
"Father!" he pleads.
"I believe Ms. Dupain-Cheng has a valuable lesson to teach you, Son. Never underestimate, women." Gabriel smirks, as his son is dragged out by his petite girlfriend, shocked.
'She's not so bad after all.'

so I just watched across the spider-verse for the second time (woohoo!) and I would just like to list some things that I noticed/loved about this movie!
SPOILERS!!!!
- During the gorgeously animated Spot sequence (the first one in black and white), when the Spot is explaining to Miles that his spider came from univere 42, we can see a kid with two braids in a classroom. It’s very likely that this is the Miles we saw later on in the movie.
- Gwen’s whole world! ugh it’s just visually stunning! The way the background also factors i the emotions at play quite literally reduced me to tears. Muah muah chef’s kiss!
- I’ve seen a lot of people talking about how Miguel is different from other spider-people and I would jus like to add my two cents. Miguel IS Spider-man, but he became him in such a different way to the others. This is why he basically has to inject the spider venom (?) into himself. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t have the spider sense either? In the scene where he, Gwen and Jess are fighting against the Leonardo Da Vinci Vulture, Miguel is just standing there, preaching to Gwen, while the Vulture is LITERALLY STANDING RIGHT THERE??? RIGHT BEHIND HIM??? Gwen just... doesn’t alert him about it and instead makes it a quippy joke, but it seems to me like he either doesn’t have a spider sense (a pretty significant part of being a spider-person) or it just decided not to work at that moment. Also interesting about Miguel is that his trauma has skewed his view so much that he is barely even recognisable as a Spider-man anymore. For example: he makes a giant mistake resulting in a whole universe being wiped out. Teenager unknowingly makes a mistake that could have the same result if not handled correctly. Now. How would your average run-of-the-mill Spider-man handle this? You know how he would NOT usually handle it? By BEATING THE SHIT OUT OF SAID TEENAGER AT MULTIPLE DIFFERENT POINTS IN TIME. Miguel also genuinely believes that there’s a certain structure to being Spider-man. There’s certain trauma-checkpoints you have to hit in order to be Spider-man. That’s... I don’t even know what to say except that that’s really messed up. The scene where he just CAGES Miles, presumably to wait there until his dad died? That’s not how you should go about any of this!!! I mean I shouldn’t even have to say that. It’s HOW you wear the mask that matters.
- Okay enough about Miguel (didn’t know I had that much to say about him tbh). The characters in this movie were extremely strong! The ones we got to meet all had a clear, discernible personalities. I am definitely not immunce to the comic relief characters and I have gained new favourite characters in Hobie and Pavitr (like p much everyone else lol)
- Miles. Miles I’m so. Wow. He’s not eve real but I’m so proud of him. I nearly bawled when he tried to “come out” as Spider-man, while I had already figured out that he was in the wrong universe. Just. God. This poor boy. He was lierally going to study quantum physics so he could see his friends again only to find out that they had the chance to do exactly that this whole time and just chose not to. It was a gutpunch when it was revealed they knew that his dad was going to die this whole time. My heart was audibly beating for him the entire last 50 minutes of the movie, that’s how anxious it all made me.
I have so much more to say about all of it, but this post is already the longest I’ve ever made so I’m just gonna cut it short for now. I would love to hear all of your thoughts on this! This is just what I got from the movie, but I’m sire I could have misinterpreted some thing, so please do tell me what you all think!

Top 10 Soul Eater episodes?
As in, favorite episodes?? Or best episodes??
I'll do...favorites I guess? If that's even possible my gosh... I'm hard-pressed at this point to find any I don't like, and others are like...yes this one and this one and this one and this one.... Like the whole underground battle series of like seven??? Is just one giant episode to me, lol.
ANYWAY.... FAVORITE Top Ten episodes, listed in airing order not a ranking cuz that's impossible, lol.
Now, to absolutely no one's surprise...
These are all Stein and/or Spirit feature episodes. Except maybe two. Here we gooooo!
Episode 4: "Engage the Witch Hunter! A Remedial Lesson in the Graveyard?"
Tumblr media
Why a fave? Okay well first of all...we get to see the four main characters fighting together against an enemy. The episode starts with the feeling of...okay, here we go... Like setting the tone of the anime after the concept and chars have been introduced. Gonna be a monster of the week thing, fighting new enemies and collecting souls. Like Digimon but not you know?
So we see awesome techniques from both Maka and Black Star and Sid as a char is super creative, so it's all that stuff to start with. And then...then we start to get that tiny bit of backstory at the end about Spirit and Stein and it's like, wait say what now?? The red-head is more than a comic drunk deadbeat dad? So then...
Episode 5: "Shape of the Soul – Enter the Ultimate Meister, Stein?"
Tumblr media
Yeah okay... I mean. Obviously. We see Stein and it's like whoa that design is creepy this guy is creepy and then we hear Spirit blubbering drunkenly about the past and it's like creepy and oh snap I am now sympathetic to Spirit and there is a far deeper backstory going on here with these adults cuz we had the privilege of seeing Sid alive before you know and suddenly he's dead in the prior ep so mystery and...yeah. And then it's very much presented as wow...Stein is...unbeatable. They're doomed. And that twist ending I was just as much huh??? as Soul was and I just. Got captivated by the backstory.
Episode 7: "Black-blooded Terror – There's a Weapon inside Crona?"
Tumblr media
More Spirit and Stein stuff. I swear that hospital scene was my favorite scene in the entire show for the longest time. It's hilarious, I still crack up watching it. The toes thing is just... And that way too long dramatic pause and camera pull before he reveals the divorce, and Stein freaking already knows and just...yeah I'm getting giddy thinking about it. But ALSO it's like, okay...now we've departed from the casual anime silliness. We skipped the 30+ eps of growth like Digimon and went straight to the big major character issue. Which you know, makes sense the further into the anime we go for this anime. But...yeah. It gets. Real. Not kids anymore. Crona with Ragnarok are hilarious I love them, and Crona is highkey relatable; Crona is every teenager to exist ever. But yeah then Soul's sacrifice, for Maka... It's just...wow. Yeah it got real.
Episode 8: "The Witch Medusa – Bearer of the Great Terrible Soul?"
Tumblr media
Truthfully, probably my favorite episode as things stand right now. My mind may change later. Why? Because obviously...Spirit and Stein get to fight together. We get to see what the future is... It's like seeing the past in Star Wars, the very beginning of Ep. 1 you know where we see Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan fight and it's like...yessss this is how things are supposed to be in a world that isn't broken. Seeing Stein and Spirit fight together like that is just... Yeah my heart is pounding thinking about how insanely awesome that is. Also Stein is hot. Plus more of that...not kids anymore. Maka's pure terror at sensing Medusa's soul, seeing her...seeing what a real witch is. Like yeah kid the little kishin egg monsters and magical cats you've been playing with are nothing. Maka realizes the world of meisters and weapons she's in is quite a bit different than her experience so far. And can we talk about how Maka wasn't going to leave Soul's side??? Was just gonna take the hit and die right beside him, because he died for her??? MY HEART! Also Stein is hot yes I know I said it already it bears repeating and man that...seriousness...the way Stein looks at Medusa, the way the witch knows who they are which in itself shows a greater threat... That utter gravity that falls over that moment at the end there, after Stein blocks her attack and it's like....oh snap. Now what? Not to mention all the new tiny details we get about soul resonance and the possibilities and how a weapon can take on features of their meister in the special attacks! (Spirit takes on stitches here on the witch hunter blade, and in the last episodes he takes on Lord Death's skull face on the kishin hunter blade. That's so cool...) Okay I have to stop. I could go on. Like I said...favorite episode as things stand right now.
Episode 13: "The Man with the Magic Eye – Soul and Maka's Diverging Soul Wavelength?"
Tumblr media
This one surprised me because initially I didn't care for it. I don't care for Free's design, shark!wolf just doesn't appeal to me. But over time this really grew on me. The writing is excellent and soooooo many major things happen. We get the first bit of touching on the morality issue, like, is DWMA really the correct moral power? Free says something about it and then it becomes a bigger theme going forward. We get the beginning of the black blood effects and the battle against/with it and the start of what all that means... The start of the "acceptance" theme even if it isn't named. We hear Soul's piano for the first time even though it isn't named as such until Brew. We get to see Soul and Maka both so confused but both so dedicated to each other, and the maturing starting to happen, that needs to still happen... It's a huge ep for their relationship. And also...Eruka. I love Eruka. All things Eruka. Any episode with Eruka is a delight. But yeah this episode is just SO deep and excellent, it needs more love. (Also in the candle room fight if you listen close we hear that Spirit has an outy belly button and I'm just alksjdahkjghsd how silly.)
Episode 14: "The Super Written Exam – Heart-Pounding, Reeling, and Restless. You're Kidding!?"
Tumblr media
Ehhh heheheh...heheh... Pure absurdity. Pure comedic awesomeness. Everything about this episode. I love things where many characters are featured in more than a cameo and get real attention. We see more of all their homes, more of what they do and who they are when not in battle... Spirit being an absolute fool... That hilarious buildup timer to the end of the exam... Blair ruining what should have been something GOOD agh silly cat I'm still annoyed, lol. I'm not gonna say much here since I said so much about the last episode but man, yeah. Just pure comedy gold, I never ever tire of this episode. "Giraffe, giraffe~" Heheheh.
Episode 23: "Dead or Alive – In the Rift between Revival and Dazzlement?"
Tumblr media
Okay like I said before... The entire underground battle, starting with the anniversary party, I consider one giant episode. I name all of those as favorites. I selected this one for here because it's where we get some of Stein's backstory I think? Flashback to he and Spirit as young teens, and we learn where Stein's mental state really is. We get to see more of his and Spirit's dynamic, how they work together both successfully and less successfully... Many headcanons borne of this battle in this episode. My gosh I just...can't put it into words in any brief way. I could write an epic length post breaking down nearly every line, look, gesture... And is this also the episode where the kishin emerges and my gosh if that isn't the creepiest most suspenseful moment I've ever seen. Also, we see more of Eruka! I adore her. And Free. But yeah whole episode... Fantastic.
Episode 25: "The Death Scythes Convene – Stop Dad's Staff Reassignment!?"
Tumblr media
And this episode...also silly and ridiculous, but awesome because we get to see a little more of the "adult" side of the DWMA and how things operate. Comedically yes, cuz Soul Eater is a comedy, but still there's quite a bit of seriousness too. Stein's madness as a plot point... But my gosh... Marie, Azusa... Justin... The dynamic between all the adults. I would give ANYTHING for a prequel anime where we get to see all these complete idiots in the academy and how it all went down between them. And my gosh we've had plenty backstory teased already with Stein's experiments against Spirit, Sid and baby Black Star... Seeing the adults as kids would be the perfect "reboot" series for me. Plus that basketball ending, bringing it all full-circle in terms of...okay, here we are again, and here we go again... Onto the next phase of the show/of our lives. It's a fantastic turning-point episode and I never tire of it.
Episode 31: "Drying Happiness! Whose Tears Sparkle in the Moonlight?"
Tumblr media
This one...so much happens here. We get delightful glimpses of normal life, we get the reminder that Soul plays piano which becomes important quite soon... We get the comedy of Spirit having to parrot Lord Death to Justin because they just won't make the kid take out his earbuds! We get a moment of Crona and Ragnarok actually getting along and having a normal conversation and ohhh myyyy gosshhhhhh I wish we'd had more of that in the show. I adore Ragnarok. But then...ugh. The saga of pain that begins. You get everyone reaching out, you get to see Crona happy... Marie after wandering around lost, saying if there's ever anything you need... Later inviting Crona to her home... Only to be betrayed. And the absolute skill and execution of the writing as they make us believe for a moment that Marie is okay in returning the pen...and then it's revealed that Crona put a snake in the coffee. Just. Oh man. Ugh the pain. Whyyyy Crona whyyy when you had the entire academy to back you up, everyone on your side, full protection from friends, from a death scythe who trusted you to invite to her home, from Lord Death who gave you a second chance... But you still betrayed them all. And then of course, that little snake then is the catalyst for SO much of what happens in the next episodes... Big deal. This ep is so huge. So many different feels...
Episode 40: "The Cards Are Cut – Medusa Surrenders to the DWMA?"
Tumblr media
Spirit feature, Spirit feature! I like getting to see a little more of Spirit's responsibilities other than hovering at Lord Death's shoulder waiting 800 years bound to Death City what the heck his poor death scythes for battles that will never come. I know logically he has other jobs as the death scythe, but it's nice to see him doing some of it and more of his relationship with Lord Death (those two raised their children side by side I mean come on there's so much comedic opportunity here). Also the sheer TENSION in the episode from the fact it's Medusa, and Maka's reaction, and Stein's reaction, and then the deal at the end... It's like...okay this is a serious tone-shift and no clue now what is coming. It's a lot of weight all at once leaving me feel like I'm in a whirlwind and kicks off the final arcs of the show and...yeah. This is a good one.
Also hey guess what!
Turning this ask into a tag game! So...what are your top ten favorite episodes??
@midnightcaptions @memethebum @chickycherrycola @blackbloodteeth @mellancholy-morose @beeejayy (that's right Sunny start interacting with fandom LOL) @takeyourcyanide @cannibal-nightmares
AND...anybody else who wants to take this on! Have fun!
And BONUS... Any and all episodes with Excalibur are awesome and if you don't love him you are wrong. That's okay you're allowed to be, you do you. 😘

My Ranking of D20 Campaigns
So I actually managed to watch all of them (or all that are out so far; not counting the still ongoing Junior Year yet) and since I like making lists, I drafted this post early on to keep track of which I love the most and how that love changed whenever I started watching a new campaign.
A Starstruck Odyssey
The Seven
A Court of Fey and Flowers
The Unsleeping City: Chapter II
The Unsleeping City
Mice and Murder
Burrow’s End
Fantasy High: Sophomore Year
A Crown of Candy
Pirates of Leviathan
Escape From the Bloodkeep
Coffin Run
Dungeons and Drag Queens
Mentopolis
Misfits and Magic
Fantasy High
Ravening War
Tiny Heist
Neverafter
Shriek Week
This was actually really, really hard, because the recency bias usually has me go “this is SO SO GOOD”.
I started watching D20 back in April last year, Misfits and Magic was the first campaign I watched - and The Seven was, I think, maybe the fifth or so? And it was my number one for the longest time. I love the girls, both the characters and the players, I love the plot, I love everything about that campaign. It is so heart-wrecking with the emotions it goes through for them all.
But then I watched A Starstruck Odyssey and it just hit all the right spots - the found family crew of a spaceship having wacky space-adventures is just something I deeply, deeply love and these characters were so much fun - and has the benefit of being longer and giving me more to fall in love with, I suppose. Still though, the difference between first and second is very narrow.
And I consider 4 and 5 a tie, to be honest. The Unsleeping City is one story, to me, I know the seasons are very distinct, but the flow of it and also my love for both is near equal. This campaign has the highest concentration of favorite PCs for me, like, when I made a list of my favorite Intrepid Heroes characters, their TUC characters all came in as either first or second place. Sophia Lee is the best Emily character ever, I will fight for her.
I am so madly, deeply in love with A Court of Fey and Flowers, which features my favorite PC romance so far, plus an impeccable cousin dynamic between Lou and Emily, also... there’s no fighting. While most fights are somewhat entertaining in DnD, I still remain Just Not An Action Gal and could skip on those in favor of more roleplaying scenes of character development and relationship exploration. And this campaign absolutely hit that spot just right. Plus, the fantasy fairy setting, and Aabria’s wonderful storytelling (how is this woman so talented? She was my first introduction to DnD as a DM, and then I got to see her as a player in the Seven and Pirates of Leviathan and she makes such great choices as a player too).
This list was ridiculously hard to make, because I look at it and I see Mice and Murder only on 6th place even though that definitely was the campaign where I had the hardest time to stop watching, I pulled an all nighter to watch half of it because it had the greatest grip on me, but then I look at the ones I placed higher than it and I can’t find it in me to move any of them lower either.
Recency bias definitely made placing Burrow’s End very hard. Not to repeat myself, but I am madly, deeply in love with Aabria’s storytelling. Combined with talking animals, the family focus, Brennan playing a mom as a PC (moms are my favorite Brennan characters), I have a lot of love for this campaign and I hope so badly that we’ll get a second part.
And here’s the reason why I couldn’t count TUC as one. Because Fantasy High: Sophomore Year ranks so much higher than the first FH for me. This was such a fun, ridiculous story, and it introduced my two favorite NPCs of all campaigns; Ayda and Garthy. It set the bar for FH3 really high and I am looking at Brennan to keep up the great work.
A Crown of Candy is well-placed in the middle. I am not the biggest fan of tragedies and definitely not into character death, but the characters and the world, are so very compelling still, even if I prefer the ones that died over the replacement characters - and that’s what puts it in the middle. Good, but could have been better.
Pirates of Leviathan was short but the characters, the players. Aabria is so so so good in this, it kills me. And she’s not alone. Bob is one of the greatest PCs of Dimension 20, to me, and that is vastly due to Krystina’s talent.
Escape From the Bloodkeep is one of the most surprising campaigns for me. This is a LotR parody that turned out to be way too heartfelt and much more found family than expected and it is great.
And Coffin Run is honestly one of the funniest D20 campaigns and I am wildly in love with about every single decision Izzy Roland made in this campaign. I am also entirely and absolutely gay for every decision Erika Ishii made.
Dungeons and Drag Queens was a very... standard adventure, but the players were so much fun to see. This would honestly be such a good campaign to start your D20 journey with, because the way Brennan eases them in and explains everything is so wonderful, and the excitement and joy of everything new they’re trying is contagious.
Mentopolis was cute, though I’m not big on noir and detective stories so that factors into why it ranks relatively low for me, even though the players and the characters were amazing. Dan Fucks is brilliant, absolutely brilliant.
And though the very first campaign I watched, Misfits and Magic didn’t make it too high. Some of it is the bytaste of HP, which I have come to just... not be able to stand anymore even though I am well aware that it’s a parody of it, and the other factor is the length. It’s hard to compete with 10 to 12 episode campaigns, that had so much more time to flesh out dynamics, worlds and characters and make me fall in love with them all, and that’s not really a reflection of the quality of this campaign.
I remain not much of a fan of the first Fantasy High. Maybe because I watched The Seven before this so when I watched FH, it gave me more of a feeling of “why is there a prequel spin-off about Zelda’s boyfriend who never had a proper appearance anyway? My girls should have bigger roles in this??”, but I largely feel that FH1 was more set-up, and the Bad Kids and their story really took off for me in the sequel, which I greatly enjoyed.
While I enjoyed the characters and the players’ dynamic in Ravening War, I am just... I guess I’m generally not much into “and it’s all futile anyway because I know how the story continues and these guys are not in it”? Matter of taste, I guess, but if that has to compete with others, it will lose.
Honestly, I enjoyed Tiny Heist when I watched it and I don’t dislike it, but it’s just so short and didn’t have anything that incredibly stood out to me in a manner that gripped me, so it had a hard time competing with other campaigns that gave me something I deeply fell in love with.
I don’t like Neverafter, it had some good characters in it but on the overall this absolutely did not vibe with me. Which is a huge disappointment for me as a lover of fairy tale crossovers, but the dark horror approach does not work for me at all.
The only thing that was easy was the bottom of this list, honestly. Shriek Week was, hands down, the only campaign I absolutely did not enjoy. The storytelling was a mess, even before watching the Adventuring Party for it, it was clear that the whole ~villain plot~ was improvised and I still wish it had just... not... been in there.

Searching for a long term discord roleplay partner (18+)
Hi all. I have not been on Tumblr in such a long time, but I have fallen back in love with roleplaying, so I am looking for some more partners.
Please note the following:
I am not replacing anyone.
Please be over the age of 18 (see below as to why)
I prefer to roleplay on discord, in our own server. I may be willing to make an exception, but that app is where I am most comfortable.
A bit about me:
I am 32 years old, they/she pronouns, and I am located in EST timezone. I have been roleplaying on and off since I was 13. I am very flexible in terms of ships and can adapt to anyone/anything. I have a couple of favorite genres and we can discuss should we start something.
I roleplay in 3rd person paragraphs and generally do my best to match my partner. I also wouldn't mind texting at the start if we were doing a long-term relationship type of plot. And of course, texting is okay if the story calls for it at that time.. I just don't want it to be all texting, yk?
I work a full time office job during the day, but I have my phone next to me to reply. I also am free evenings and weekends as I have no life lol. The longest roleplay I have had is 10 years and yes, it's still going hehe 🙂 Pretty proud of it tbh.
I am currently looking for roleplays in the following (bold - first preference. italics - second preference) :
Link Click (most want; current hyperfocus. plz)
Haikyuu
Given
Horimiya
Bungo Stray Dogs
Windbreaker
Tadaima, Okaeri
Buddy Daddies (Just started to watch and I am in love with them)
I have a long list of animes that I have watched or am in the process of watching. I may even be interested in roleplaying that are not on this list. Just message me and we can talk about it!
As of this time, I don't have any O/C's so I would prefer to do a pairing of people that are in the show. I also have a lot of M/M ships, minus Horimiya. However, I wouldn't mind if you had an O/C and if I feel we can create something great, we can definitely make it amazing :3
As far as the tone of the roleplay and our plot(s), I hope to brainstorm with you to find something great to play. I don't have any triggers; I love anything from angst to cavity-sweet romantic. My absolute favorite genre is omegaverse, but that is not a necessity.
As the title suggests, I would love for this to be long term. If it comes to where you're not happy with our roleplay or are losing interest, please let me know instead of ghosting me. We are adults so we can use our words. I would be more than happy to figure something else out. I am very easy going and understanding as I hope you would be as well.
If you are interested, please add/message me on discord! .lyc. (Both periods are needed)

HEY BUDDY :D !!! lion, maine coon, american shorthair, tiger, cougar, and fishing cat !!
HIIII!!! 👾
This is so many omg
Lion - I'm probably most proud of how far I've come over the last few years, I went through a lot and am still learning to live with some of it. It's definitely shaped a bit of who I am now, but I'd like to think I have grown from it and carried it with me rather than living in that dump forever :) AND MY FRIENDS IM SO SO SO PROUD OF THEM AND HOW MUCH THEY'VE DONE AND I WISH THE BEST FOR ALL OF YOU :((
Maine Coon - Honestly I'm not too sure how others would describe me, or even how to encapsulate my personality into one word--I'd like to say I'm energetic but I also have my moments of not being as much, I'm nice but I know I can be a bitch, I'm a lot of things but I'm really unsure of what word could describe me, plus I don't remember any good descriptive words rn :') (I'm so tired)
American Shorthair - I have many things that comfort me, id say my friends are my biggest comfort, as cheesy as it is. My friends remind me I'm not alone and have reasons to keep going, even when it feels impossible. I also often tend to latch onto games and streamers/YouTubers for comfort (a big one is hermitcraft!! :D), many of the people I watch now are people who practically raised me and I love them dearly. Another few smaller things that I find help comfort me are things like music, tea, or small things like animals (my cat!!!) or stuffed animals :3
Tiger - Another one that I'm not entirely sure how to answer :( "Being cute and being mine" -☀️ I think I went through the 5 stages of grief trying to come up with something that's all you're getting, oh yeah and my worst is probably the fact that I'm indecisive or like impulsive idk
Cougar - Hehehe fandoms 😇 Definitely undertale, fnaf, and sanders sides in the later years. I was (unfortunately) an aphmau kid back in 2015 but that was more watching her content and less fandom stuff. The undertale and fnaf ones definitely didn't ever stop, I got really into sans aus back during covid and relied on all three of those fandoms for comfort during the quarantine too. Sanders sides definitely helped me over the years before and during covid, it was definitely a rough time in my life as I was learning new things about myself and others around me, and it helped me so much with learning how to be me and accept myself as I am. As for a fandom I'm really active in now, id say the one I'm most active in is Hermitcraft (so surprising!!! 🙀) I got super into it back in season 6 when grian joined because I watched his content before he joined, and now I watch most of the hermits, I do tend to focus on a few each season while watching the occasional stream/video from the others though! I also listen to the imp & skizz podcast, and I find it rather comforting when I'm stressed, I love the hermits so much and they've definitely helped me so much without even knowing :) (and the fandom is so silly I love everyone)
Fishing Cat - I have so many I'm definitely going to forget some, I love learning new things and it's led to many hobbies that I do and will probably get back into in the future! :) I do crochet, it's something I have been learning since I was really young but couldn't get the hang of it for the longest time because my mom had a hard time teaching me it since she's left handed, I love reading, I read all kinds of things from old novels & poetry, romance and mystery, to nonfiction and sci-fi, I enjoy reading anything as long as it can keep my interest, and I loveee getting reccomended books (even though my to-be-read list is SO long), I like small crafts like jewelry making but it hurts my hands (especially the more intricate ones like fancy necklaces, bracelets, earrings), i love gaming, its a big part of who I am seeing as I grew up doing it, and even though i dont it as much anymore I still enjoy it and love playing games with my friends!! I enjoy drawing, but it's stressful because I'm not great at it and am way too perfectionistic over it. I used to paint but I never got too good at it and never had proper supplies, it was very fun though and I'd definitely get back into it sometime down the line. I listen to a lot of music, and watch youtubers/streamers. I like to go on walks, but with some of my health issues I don't go on them as often (I definitely will do more this summer though!!) and hanging out with my friends and animals. I plan on getting into sewing and possibly cosplay sometime so that will be fun to learn! I love creative hobbies, despite how stressful they can be when they don't go how I wanted it to :) I love seeing things I'm able to make evolve and get better and I get better at doing it, and I love consuming information and seeing people be people!!
I'm so sorry this is a lot of yapping even for me 😭

Doing this thing because I got blorbos on my mind
A - Current OTPs/OT3s etc.
It may not come as a surprise but I am absolutely rotting on PruMano at all times and have been doing so for basically a year now. It's beginning to melt into my personality and nothing can be done about it. Whenever I'm released from the iron grip of PruMano rotting I enjoy GerIta and FrUk like the normie that I am. The BTT are definitely getting together for threesomes when they're all single and I like them as well.
B - Pairing I initially didn't consider
This might shock you after reading the first bit but. PruMano. See I'm not new to this circus, I first watched Hetalia in 2015 but focused mostly on the Nordic 5 with SuFin and DenNor. This was before PruAus 9/11 (Hima suddenly announcing they're cousins) so I think I was on the PruAus rot.
Other than that I got a friend who I dragged into this hellhole (you know who you are) who has infected me with Frain and TurFra. I have some Thoughts about TurPru but uhh. let's leave that for now.
C - Ships I never liked and never will like
All the ones where there is an unbalanced power dynamic (age gaps, having interacted when one was a child and the other way older etc, former colonies and oppressive states, having a relationship that implies being related etc). I am a seasoned hater of these and I do my best to block anyone who as much as reblogs it. I do not care if it's "just fiction" you guys are weird and not in a good way xoxo
D - Ships I just can't get myself to like
Due to the aforementioned PruMano rot I just don't feel seriously interested in any other pairings I fear. Nothing against PruCan or LietPru for example, I am just so rotted on PruMano that it doesn't make me feel anything lol
E - My crack contributions
I may just be the only person who has even considered TurPru and I have done it in the most unbearable fujoshi way possible </3
Other than that I'm helping out with spreading unrequited GerFra, Frain and TurFra which I do also enjoy on the side.
F - Longest I've been in a fandom
I wanna say this one?? Not actively so, I jumped ship to other things such as Love Live and JJBA in early 2019ish (Love Live even earlier in 2017), but even during my longer breaks from Hetalia I've always ended up rewatching it at some point or posting about it.
G - First OTP
For Hetalia it's definitely been GerIta from day one. Do I even need to say anything? To me they're canon.
H - Favorite way of consuming fandom stuff
It's mostly anime series and TV shows I'd say, I do sometimes read but am a bit too busy to properly sit down and do so.
I - Has Tumblr made me dislike fandoms
I think it would take less time to list the fandoms Tumblr HASN'T made me dislike tbh. I try to keep a tight knit circle for my own sanity and rarely interact with the fandom part of stuff apart from my own and my friend's contributions. Highly recommended btw.
J - Fandoms I didn't notice until Tumblr
To be honest I'm not really browsing Tumblr at all. I like to upload here because the image quality is way better than on Instagram. I suppose I highly associate some fandoms with this site (Undertale for example)?
K - Say something nice about someone
You should all go like and subscribe to fruktual on Instagram for more FrUk and Frainposting
L - Say something nice about a mid character
Lithuania I'm sure you are way more interesting than I give you credit for and I care about you the most out of the Baltic Trio (which I honestly forget exists at times)
M - Something nice about a ship I don't like
I'd honestly rather pull a tooth out than say a single word of praise for things such as UsUk or Spamano 🤢🤢🤢🤢 And that's on periodt!
N - Things I wish to see more of in the fandom
More PruMano please please please please please pl
O - Song that reminds me of a ship
Til There Was You by The Beatles makes me think of GerIta, as well as Kingdom Come by Red Velvet
As for PruMano it would be Tales Of Great Ulysses by Cream because I had that on repeat writing my Ancient Rome PruMano AU lol
P - New AU
I'm working on/will be working on a Frankenstein PruMano AU where Gilbert is a much more empathic Victor Frankenstein and Lovino is too traumatized from dying and being resurrected to be out killing people. Look forward to that...
Q - Ship I've abandoned and why
PruAus because Hima came in with a warhammer and bludgeoned it to the cousinzone R.I.P </3
R - Pairing I think no one else ships
Again with TurPru, I seriously wonder whether it's been considered at all. Most likely not.
S - Personal headcanon
Okay more or less true I guess if you bother to read the source material but Gilbert is just a silly loser guy. Like, he's a total himbo. I love him and need to gnaw on him.
T - Headcanons I'll die defending
That Gilbert and Lovino who share a passion for chivalry and knights would definitely go visit museums and LARPing events such as medieval weeks and whatnot. Just warms my cold little heart <3
U - 5 faves from 5 different fandoms
Oh boy. Forgive me for what I'm about to share.
(Hetalia) Gilbert Beilschmidt
(JJBA) Dio Brando
(Madoka) Kyouko Sakura
(Love Live) Yoshiko Tsushima
(Gakkou Gurashi or School Live) Kurumi Ebisuzawa
V - 3 OTPs from different fandoms
(Hetalia) PruMano (shocker, I know)
(Madoka) HomuMado
(Love Live) YohaRiko
W - 5 ships ft 5 kinks for said ship
So obviously gonna skip over the ones featuring minors.
PruMano - Verbal degradation, sadism, masochism, somewhat fear aspect, leaving marks
I do also just think they love each other and have normal sex and that's fine too, but I did write a fanfic where the abovementioned happens
X - My top 5 babygirls
1. Gilbert, I bully him a lot but don't you ever seriously say something mean about him because I will be so sad </3
2. Lovino, he's a flawed man and some of you are MEAN to him for having it rough
3. Rome, some people who haven't read source material claim there's some favoritism going on, he does visit Lovino as well okay? The allegations are canonically false!
4. Ludwig, I think most of us agree he's a good person but for the rare few who claim he's "verbally abusive". Go outside and touch grass no he isn't. GerIta has always been them antagonizing one another, the battlefield is even or perhaps even in Feliciano's favor. Ludwig will never be able to escape the nightmare and I don't think Feli wants him to. They're bound together forever and love it.
5. Roderich, gets slack for various Chibitalia related things, does not deserve it at all, it's all whining and he and Feli are on good terms in modern times. Relax.
Y - Fandoms in-law
My current close friends are into Baldurs Gate 3, Watch Dogs, Dishonored, Evillous Chronicles (Vocaloid), Utena and more. But these are the primary blorbo shows in-law.
Z - Rambling time
Okay if you've gotten this far down I admire your attention span lol thanks. I don't really have all that much to say that is concrete and comprehensible but I am thinking of PruMano and of warm days by the Mediterranean Sea and skies later lit in vivid shades of red and orange as the hot sun sets and the cities come to life. I am also thinking about them cuddling, which I do quite a lot.
Anyway that was all for me bye

number 7: here is greenwood
GREENWOOD!!!!!!!!! WOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! okay i'm cool. "here is greenwood" is a shoujo manga serialized in hana to yume from 1986 to 1991 written and drawn by nasu yukie. in 1991 until 1993 it got adapted into a 6 episode ova and this is kinda where it ends i feel. i wouldn't say it has had any kind of major impact in the medium, the genre or any major group of individuals, but god i do think it did stir something inside me.
Tumblr media
i either tend to gravitate towards stuff that isn't particularly popular, because i'm trying to come off as cooler than i am or simply because it just happens naturally. couldn't tell you, but finding that one little thing you end up enjoying so much without anyone else seemingly caring about it is always fun regardless of your personality. turns out it's a lot easier to become the biggest fan of a thing no one has seen, you know. a bit like becoming the world record holder of a game no one has cared to speedrun, it's just funny.
picking out what consists of "my favorite shows of all time" isn't so easy once you've been watching media more seriously after a while, those starting years will definitely shape you up and become a major part of the main stuff you like. even if you fully know it's bad, you hold it close to yourself because it was there at the start, and it's always nice to think back on that. so, it often happens with me where i certainly enjoy something enough to think of it as "this could be a favorite, but does it deserve the spot?". not even sure right now if greenwood deserves it, but i don't know if it matters that much. i decided to make a list of "favorites that aren't favorites" because of greenwood and even if it doesn't stay there and goes up into the list, it sure means something.
ironically, i don't quite think this show came out as a surprise to me as i'd been hyping myself up before even getting into it. it did, though, take turns i wouldn't have seen coming and i'm glad for that. these days i honestly tend to watch anime based on the soundtrack and it's no different here. the soundtrack showed up in online platforms on september of last year, which is around where i found out about it since i already follow nagata shigeru (even if i haven't even seen ocean waves, he just makes good tracks). my first mention of it over discord was me getting mad at my bank while i was dealing with my phone insurance after i tried reading one piece and got my phone stolen 13 pages into the first chapter, but that's a story for another day. i just said "this is the soundtrack of me killing a man" with a link to shun's theme , which is honestly accurate for any man killing activities. in context however, there's a bit more to the story.
this is why, to anyone caring to read, i want to do the longest and probably only essay / analysis / backtrack / retrospective / whatever the hell for "here is greenwood" you will find online. i HAVE to be that guy. otherwise, what have i been obsessing over this thing for around a month? the show has 6 episodes while the manga has 11 volumes (although viz squished it into 9 which is better), so i'll be basing myself on the pacing of the anime in relation to the manga, back and forth between them so the chapters match up. the manga does, however, have more stuff to it throughout half of its runtime so it's gonna be a lot of that i suppose. although, and i'll get into it later, the anime seemingly ends up being the more enjoyable version of the two. otherwise, skip to the tldr in bold letters to avoid reading the long ramblings of a crazy man skimming through a show and manga you probably haven't seen and read.
Tumblr media
we begin with the hero of our story. he doesn't really have anything that would actually make him a hero, he's just a teenage boy just starting his first year of highschool at ryokuto academy. his name is hasukawa kazuya and i don't blame people for making him the least popular of the 4 central characters on myanimelist, but he's still technically the main character. our dear boy kazuya is moving into the ryokuto dorms, because it turns out he's kinda the unluckiest guy you'll ever meet. his older brother just married the girl he had a crush on, and since they don't have any parents left, they're all living under the same roof, something he simply can't stand anymore. he took the entrance exam for this prestigious boys only school and managed to get in, but in the process he: almost got ran over by a car while he was visiting the school, barely managed to take the entrance exam since the trains were stopped by a blizzard, had his acceptance letter delayed in the mail, and got an ulcer the day of the entrance ceremony that forced him to stay hospitalized for a month. even if god is against him, he persevered, and finally got in.
kazuya is hot headed (almost literally since he's prone to getting nosebleeds), overly serious yet still a bit of a goofus. he's not particularly smart, but he proves himself with the sheer effort he can put into the things he wants to achieve. he often feels like he needs to be stronger and grow on his own, failing to rely on others, as he doesn't really like getting pampered either.
he is introduced to the dorm head, ikeda mitsuru, and the president of the student council, tezuka shinobu. the two most popular, best looking, and important members of the dorms, currently on their second year of highschool. these two are the ones that will introduce him to "greenwood", as they call the dorms, since the full name is kind of a mouthful.
inside room 210 rests his roommate, which he's quickly informed is, in fact, a girl. according to them, kisaragi shun was born a girl, it's just that her birth certificate and every record lists her gender as male. by this point, 8 minutes into the first episode i'm already clocking out. i understand we're talking about japan here and it's the 1980s (rest assured, this becomes more evident as it goes on), but i have the sneaking suspicion that gender identity can't be this series' forte. from my understanding, hibari-kun does tackle these topics in a proper manner and it was also a manga from the 80s, so perhaps it's not completely unheard of. besides, shoujo manga isn't known to be scared of tackling stuff the rest would never dare, but still. me, the audience, and the guy on screen, kazuya, are being informed that he absolutely must keep this fact a secret from the all the boys at the school. if he does not, there will be consequences. added to the fact this guy is seemingly pissed off at his brother for not being "manly enough" since he "works as a nurse" at this school (and also the fact he got married to the woman he liked, even if she's at least a decade older than him), we're not looking too hot. whatever, i'll give it the benefit of the doubt.
Tumblr media
3 days go by for kazuya living with a girl in his room, often going outside to let her change, being uncomfortable at night and trying to ignore people's comments of his situation. he finds out, however, that it was nothing more than a farce. shun isn't a girl, he's just a cute guy with long hair. this dude got tricked into thinking otherwise only so everyone in the dorms could bet on how long it would take him to figure out. "damn! i lost... if only it took one more day..." you hear a guy in the background. greenwood, refers to "a nest for bandits and villains" which is all this place is. as much of a prestigious school as this may be, it doesn't speak for the people actually attending it.
there's the guy that sleeps with his motorcycle, the club used to devote their time to a made up religion, or the duo that rent out their room as an arcade. the main trio that will share their time with kazuya stand out as much as anyone else, if not more, so we should get into them.
shinobu (on the right) is the son of a prestigious family. he's calm and collected, devious and cunning. not a lot seems to change his expression, as he's swift and decisive yet his has his mischievous side as he often enjoys messing with people, and specially his roommate. mitsuru (left), is the handsome, aloof guy that simply loves giving kazuya as hard of a time as he can.
Tumblr media
shun, aka the most popular character in the show, is a confident, assertive and strong willed young man. it just so happens he kinda looks like a girl. it is very often played for jokes, but not once does he mind it and finds enjoyment in it himself. he is, in fact, "a guy with a gender", as you could say. he leaves his hair long because he likes it, he dresses up however he feels like and often more feminine because he finds it fun, and he just knows who he is and what he wants to be, which is highly respectable. i was mentioning earlier about his theme and it's honestly pretty fitting for the guy, there's something magical and cheery about it that really sticks out, while having a tone of that seemingly feminine side.
these four are the rag tag greenwood team, getting into trouble, helping others and messing with each other. guys that maybe wouldn't usually be friends with each other, but it's always the time and place that will bring people together.
most of volume 1 isn't too dissimilar from episode 1, they change around the order of some scenes for it to make more sense and remove or add dialogue for it to flow better, but most of the main events stay intact. kazuya's main goal is to stay far from his home to avoid thinking about sumire, the woman he loves and his now sister in law. this is what he's in greenwood for. it's not as simple as "running away" from it and his feelings, but trying to come to terms with it, get distracted, and find himself. the main overarching theme of this series is moving past a love that was not meant to be. whether it's by moving away, making new friends or finding new love, the goal is the same. ironically, the people around him don't really allow him to move past so easily, since his brother is still around all the time, his friends kinda make fun of him for it (because it is funny) and sumire herself is so oblivious to it that it keeps stabbing him in the heart which, yeah, i get it.
vimeo
not sure if you, dear reader, has had the experience of being in a dorm with other people, or going through a moment of unrequited love, but it doesn't get any realer than this! for one, living with people close to you for a while is just a nice experience. always having people to rely on, to hang out with, to talk to, at any given moment. almost to the point you may start depending on it. as a matter of fact, the room i shared with other people for a bit was 211, the same one mitsuru and shinobu are in! for the other, trying to move past something like that isn't the easiest. in fact, it may just be the aftermath that's the hardest and that takes the longest, that is, finding the same feeling somewhere else. filling that spot with something new, or someone new. cannot really blame a guy for trying so hard to change his life around.
kazuya decides to stay in the dorms for summer vacation, as he insists he does not want to set foot home, and sumire decides to pay him a visit. not only her but his brother kazuhiro also plays fun with him at times simply because he likes to see his reaction. he's kind of a goat, but he does genuinely care for his brother. later he's informed he can't stay in the dorms for winter holidays, which is what forces him to go back home for once.
Tumblr media
half of the first volume doesn't get adapted probably to improve the pacing, although the extra chapters also don't feel too substantial to the story overall. in one of them the lights go off at the dorms and a couple of girls get in, which they initially think are ghosts, only to turn out they're not. it's not that exciting of a chapter and the show does a better version of this a bit later on. besides, i believe that not showing as many female characters in the ovas works better for the series, as opposed to the manga which starts doing it more often from here.
after kazuya goes back home for the first time in a while, the boys meet up out in the city. here, they find a strange looking girl being tailed by men in suits. it only turns out this girl is "nitta mieko", an idol that simply wanted to get some free time for herself while her agency wouldn't let her. uh, she becomes a bit of a prominent character throughout the manga, while she doesn't really appear at all in the anime. to the actual plot itself, she doesn't do a whole lot, she just comes and goes from time to time. not much against her, it only feels like she's just there.
for another chapter, they're already on valentine's day, meaning they will get chocolate. shun mentions he's straight and he had a girlfriend already which the rest find strange, i suppose. both mitsuru and shinobu get all the girls from other schools to wait outside and throw chocolates at them, to which they run away from. kazuya has one girl that's a bit obsessed with him, yet he doesn't remember her name nor who she is. she mistakes shun for a girl, so she gives up on him quick, though. i'm a bit iffy with this chapter because even if it is supposed to be a well known fact that mitsuru is constantly getting girls to ask him out (and he's generally also unlucky with said girls) the anime doesn't actually show much of that, unlike the manga. i don't think this is bad though, it's more of a thing they just say but never really show as you're kind of invited to fill in the blanks for yourself. since it is only 6 episodes they obviously skip around a lot of parts of the year, and i don't think it's quite necessary to see everything they do, as getting a glimpse around their life is all you need to understand how they're doing and what a random day in greenwood can be like. the manga almost incessantly needs to show both mitsuru and shinobu as the popular guys and since we're talking about an all boys school, even if they are popular, it doesn't feel like it's something that should happen so often and at such a big scale, in my opinion.
Tumblr media
kazuya also simply not knowing who the girl that has a crush on him seems off and a bit too early. i suppose his mind is still focused on sumire, sure. so, he's probably not ready to move on that quick? even then, the situation kind of presents itself in front of him and he simply fumbles it for no major reason, he simply does not know the girl from his previous school.
the final chapter sets up the next volume, where mitsuru gets abducted by none other than shinobu's big sister. the anime does a funny thing here on episode 2 where they kinda tell you "go read the chapter for context" but it doesn't really matter. the episode centers around shinobu's sister, nagisa, kidnapping shun's little brother, reina, who obviously looks like a little girl because feminine looking boys is a staple of the kisaragi household. this is, in turn, a direct sequel to the manga chapter.
nagisa hates her brother because he's kinda just better than her really. she's stuck up, pretentious, demanding and selfish. since they were little she always wanted to be seen as the superior one, and because shinobu doesn't give a damn about anything, he never really cared about whatever she tried doing to him. part of their father's favoritism towards shinobu must certainly come from the fact she's a woman, i will not deny that, and she has the right to be mad. she's still an awful person though and only wants her to be the one to inherit the family business. so, to "take revenge" on him, she decides to kidnap his friend. genius!
Tumblr media
part of the volume is dedicated to them finding out it's her and then going to save him. in the process mitsuru tries to escape and makes fun of her. he ends up with only his underwear on to, uh, make it worse for him? i guess? in the process of escaping mitsuru gets his face cut which was supposed to be something they planned on doing to ruin how pretty he was or something, but apparently mitsuru has superpowers so the skin on his face simply fixes itself instantly. now, greenwood isn't scared of the supernatural, weird things will happen. but having his face regenerate is a bit too much in my opinion. i think it would be a really solid joke for him to "suddenly be fine the next page" instead of it actually and legitimately being superhuman. would play on the meta and sell the ridiculousness of it even more. which seems even weirder considering nasu loves to play with meta jokes. she will often draw herself commenting on facts or details that don't really make sense so she can address them herself, or have the characters directly refer to her or the manga as a whole. in this same chapter in fact, she mentions how it doesn't make sense that they're still in their first and second year of highschool if holidays are already over. i think some of these jokes are fine, but nasu loves doing it a little bit too much for my taste.
Tumblr media
anyway, what the anime does instead, as i mentioned, is have shun's little brother be the victim. nagisa decided that she won't deal with boys anymore and only cares about girls now, so he picks up reina instead (unbeknownst to her that he's actually a boy). i think this take on it is better, since shinobu ends up knowing what the deal is way faster and manages to figure out a plan for the rest of the boys to follow. reina does, too, mess with her and her agents by asking for food and to take a shower, which gets weirder than it should! these guys kinda get really flustered about the supposed little girl they've kidnapped which is extremely weird (one of them even trying to peep while he's taking a shower!). nagisa is also really weird about it at the start but we know for a fact she's a terrible person so whatever. it tries to follow with the joke that people often mistake the kisaragi boys for girls, but it could've been something else, you know. specially when it's grown ass adults we're talking about, but whatever, it's still a fun episode. all of this ends with shinobu giving his sister a final warning, effectively pointing a gun at her and saying he was gonna take care of her this time for sure. only to turn out it's a toy gun. a little detail that stands out at the end of this episode, in a strange way, is mitsuru making fun of kazuya for developing a crush on igarashi miya, a girl from an all girls highschool that will become relevant later. it's a bit funny because by this point they have never shown the two of them interacting, and the first time that he will see her is later on in the anime. however i think it's mostly working as a little nod of foreshadowing, as the events in the ovas don't really seem to be in chronological order.
Tumblr media
what is honestly surprising is the chapter that follows this, still on volume 2. a side story about two guys from the dorms in room 117 ending up as a couple and finding out they're gay. i'd honestly recommend just reading this chapter, as it's surprisingly good and i'm almost left wishing they had adapted it. they sure do the "but it can't be, he's a guy!" / "there's no way i'm a homosexual!" and sure, one of the two guys also does look like a girl, but it's cute and well handled in my opinion. throughout both the show and manga kazuya stays as the guy that like, simply doesn't know gay people exist, i think. he's not inherently homophobic, i'd say. he's always genuinely shocked as if he doesn't know what just happened, almost to the point it's funny. it simply does not process in his mind and he resets.
Tumblr media
next chapter is about girls from another school taking pictures of mitsuru with his shirt off because it's too hot? and shinobu has diarrhea. the one after that, the boys go to the pool. everyone there thinks shun is a girl (as usual) so they ask him to go into the women's dressing room, and the lifeguard gets disappointed to find out he's a guy, but their outfits are sick so it's fine.
we continue to see kazuya being the one taking care of dorm head duty since mitsuru is away for the week. reina rolls up to the dorm and he's actually way more of an annoying brat than in the anime. kazuya lowkey bullies the kid and thinks shun should be rougher with him, or something. he still kinda has that thing of being disappointed that his brother isn't tough for whatever reason.
volume 3 starts school sports festival, not a thing we see in the anime. shun is dressed up as a cheerleader, kazuya is the fastest runner alive, shinobu set up bets for each team. typical stuff. later we see a girl show up at the school because her girlfriend was going there to see someone else. every single one of the boys absolutely loses their mind at the sight of a "real lesbian" who they thought was nothing more than a myth, and then it just turns out the her girlfriend saw mitsuru dressed up as a woman as part of the festival event (which they never even showed) and she was interested. rest of the volume is mieko showing up again asking for a favor because someone is trying to assassinate her, the boys celebrating new year's, a kid trying to figure out if shinobu is evil to get into the journalism club, and the motorcycle guy getting a real girlfriend.
Tumblr media
a thing the manga definitely does better over the anime is showing the rest of the people in the dorms. although i barely even up remembering their names, they sure are there and have their own things going on. they do become more prevalent and they're part of greenwood as a whole. i just don't particularly feel like they stand out as characters themselves? some of their stories are fine and all but they serve as a bunch of background dudes that chip in at stuff most of the time. while it is cool to see the dorms more lived in, they're also not so important that it makes them feel like they actually matter, if it make sense.
as the manga goes on it starts feeling like a bit of a bottleneck. by no means is it not entertaining, it's simply that it jumps around between stuff that doesn't feel like it amounts to a lot. probably the reason why as i continue explaining things here i go over these chapters with stuff to say about them. next is volume 4 though! so almost halfway through!
this volume shows us the woman that shinobu's older brother (because it seems he has one) was supposed to marry. i believe, she doesn't really amount to much in the story, so i won't even go into detail about her. they go into a flashback with how shinobu and mitsuru met in their first year and fought, to then end up respecting each other. it's cool.
the rest of the volume is half a dragon quest parody and the other half a ghost story. both of these do, in fact, appear in the anime. however, they do so in a different way. in the manga, the fantasy manga parody is really just that, a sort of spin off that goes for a couple chapters. in the ova, the boys at the dorms plan on filming a movie to show at the festival, which is honestly such a cooler idea. they show them going around planning and filming stuff. shinobu and mitsuru even have to go pose for the self insert manga author that uses them as reference for her next manga so they can get the outfits they need. it's a whole process of them showing how they're doing this indie movie at their own school while cutting into the actual scenes of the supposed movie, real neat stuff.
Tumblr media
in the other chapters, they go to a hotel shun's family just acquired and stay for the night. it just so turns out it's haunted and a bunch of girls try to get the boys to become ghosts as well so they can be together. mitsuru, however, manages to exorcise them since his family runs a shrine and he simply knows how to do that (?). ironically, he's the one that needs to get an exorcism in the ova.
this episode is one of my favorites by far. the lights go dark in greenwood, just like they did in volume 1 long ago. this time, mitsuru gets haunted by a girl he doesn't know. what's funny about this is that she is just a normal, cute girl and nothing else. she hangs around, talks to them, plays games, etc. fully visible to everyone, you simply can't touch her. mitsuru gets into trouble for bringing a girl into the dorms since he's clearly not allowed to, but it's not like he can do anything about it. he gets really stressed out and consistently asks her to leave him alone (which, wow. rude). i'm almost definitely biased here but this girl is actually voiced by the same woman that does my favorite character in the trails series, so, yeah. she's just really cute and fun and doesn't really hinder his daily activities in the slightest so seeing him get really pissed off about it is entertaining. the way the episode starts is also my current favorite thing ever:
this episode perfectly encapsulates the charm that has me tied to greenwood. the music, the characters, the wacky situations that get oddly real for short spans. by the end of the episode, she reveals that there isn't any major reason for her to be haunting mitsuru besides the fact that he's good looking. she simply hadn't ever kissed anyone before dying, and she wanted to do that. he strictly refuses because he's a little baby bitch and she leaves. instead, a day later, she tricks him by picking up the cat and having him kiss it. except that she's actually not done with him because she still likes him, so she brings a bunch of other ghost girls to mess with them. really funny. again, ironic, how he's the one getting haunted this time and he can't do anything about it.
Tumblr media
the two final episodes of the anime are the most relevant arc of the series, which won't happen until much later in the manga. so we keep moving.
volume 5 takes place around the school festival, the one they made a movie for in the ova. kazuya gets tricked into a game of ping pong to see who would get the main role for the play they're doing, while shun does also take part of a different play. basically, we get 3 of the 4 main guys to dress up as women. shun's play is lupin's castle of cagliostro, which did also happen in the anime as an extra special segment at the end of that episode and it's really neat.
Tumblr media
the rest of the volume has a new guy show up claiming that kazuhiro isn't worthy enough to be married to sumire. this guy is just her cousin, which is also in love with her, so let's leave it there. at the end they show a flashback into how the two of them met back in college, to then get introduced into the hasukawa household. this flashback is neat overall, it gives further information on how they've been doing as a family of two brothers, and a bit of insight into both kazuhiro and sumire's relationship.
sumire has been with them since kazuya was around 14, while she was in her early 20s, which i suppose isn't too terrible for him to fall in love? it obviously wouldn't work out regardless of the circumstance, but this isn't something they actually ever try to push for or imply it could've happened. not a lot more than teenage love, you know. what is actually fun is getting the news that sumire is pregnant with a boy. it doesn't really shape the story at all, but in the large scheme of things it does try to show the shift between their relationship and kazuya's feelings, which is great to see.
Tumblr media
volume 6 has one chapter of shinobu meeting an alien that tells him he has a specimen that looks exactly like him who recently escaped containment. shinobu shoots him and doesn't flinch at the idea of killing someone that looks exactly like him, maybe because he's more of a robot than whatever this alien made could be, but we're still stretching the logic of this manga the more we go.
following chapter is the boys playing baseball against a friend of mitsuru's, fun chapter. the dorms move on to the next year, and they do actually start their second and third year of highschool. kazuya is the one becoming the dorm head this time, either because mitsuru likes to mess with him and / or because he does genuinely respect the guy. kazuya isn't too sure himself, though. some new students show up like the kid from singapore who they keep trying to explain things to as if he's some sort of otherworldly being, and he also shows signs of being completely clueless on how stuff works like not even knowing what a school trip is. i asked someone i know if this is true and they said that people in singapore do know what a school trip is (as i assumed), but sure. the school trip does happen, where they meet mieko once again and she asks mitsuru to do some modelling for a tv ad. this becomes a whole thing with mitsuru not being sure whether or not he wants to do it because like, his brother will think that he's only doing it to attract the attention of his "real parents" because actually he feels that he's not really part of his family since he's adopted? it's weird, the adoptive part will come into place later (although it's not that big either).
in volume 7 kazuya's nephew is born and they need to take care of him because sumire was gonna give them a couple of tickets for the ice ring. in the ice ring, two girls try to trick shinobu and mitsuru into becoming their partners because they need a couple to do competitive ice skating, or something. the conclusion is shinobu saying "why doesn't one of you get a sex change?" and they think it's genius and leave it at that. hooray for surgery. there's another three side stories with an edo era spin off, the boys going into the kisaragi onsen, and the duo in the arcade room getting cursed by an evil videogame you have to beat in one go.
Tumblr media
it doesn't end with, but midway through we got the start of the main final arc, the one with igarashi miya. miya is a girl mitsuru used to know back on his previous school, she seems to be a bit of a delinquent that got into trouble with some girls over turf conflicts. she needs a place to stay for the night and tries to get help at greenwood. kazuya insists in helping her and offering his room even if it's strictly forbidden, because he sees something in her eyes. there's a certain sadness and uncertainty he's not sure about, so he wants to know more.
she explains to kazuya about her situation, and it turns out, she's not as tough as she seems. she doesn't like that people see her as a delinquent, she's not strong, she's a bit of a scaredy cat and is always trying to keep herself from crying. in the process of helping her and getting the girls from the other school to stop annoying her, kazuya realizes that, whoops! he kind of likes her! unfortunate for him, she already has a boyfriend. she does really insist that he's a good guy since he's always been there for him. on the other hand, kazuya wonders why was it because of him that she turned into a delinquent, or why doesn't she ever feel loved by him. she feels that he doesn't like her for who she is but rather he believes he likes her because they've always been together. not a lot he can do about it though, as he doesn't really have an excuse to see her again.
the anime doesn't change much here, the episode starts with kazuya already dwelling about her as they usually do with these episodes, starting with the aftermath of the events and recapping on what happened to them. i do like this, i'll say.
Tumblr media
volume 8 is the last one before overlapping with the final episode, so it's mostly filled with extra chapters. there's one about a boy not going to class because he hates one of the teachers, another one with mitsuru getting tailed by a girl (again) who loves the made up version of mitsuru she imagined while seeing his commercial, devilwood again with the dragon quest fantasy manga parody, and the sports festival once more. the thing i like about the sequel to the sports festival is how kazuya gets into the track team to distract himself from thinking about miya, which seems to work for a bit. not essential, but realistic.
another one of the chapters is him falling off a ladder and landing in an alternate dimension where everyone is female, which is actually kinda fun, if not a little bit short. they call it "cherrywood" instead of greenwood, and there's actually a version of this they had the voice actors record as part of the drama cds. there are a couple of these mainly for the special chapters like the sports festival and stuff, they're neat. once kazuya comes back to his world the boys in the dorm keep dropping themselves off the ladder to see if they can go there as well so it's pretty funny.
Tumblr media
i think the girl that was obsessed with mitsuru is somewhat a different version of the ghost girl from episode 4, although this one gets so mad at so many things he does that he legitimately cannot go around doing anything without having this girl break into tears, so it's funny i'll let it slide. i insist that having mitsuru be overwhelmed by girls all the time doesn't give the vibe of the "all boys dormitory life" that most of the series tries to push forward, but only some of them wouldn't hurt too much, i suppose.
Tumblr media
we arrive to the final volume, as well as the last episode. had you been reading and watching these alongside, you would have a decent grasp of all the activities these people have gotten involved with. the thing is that, the 6 ova episodes released some time after the manga was already finished, meaning that it's not like anyone actually expected you to go back and forth between each other. it would be impractical to do so anyway without knowing what actually gets adapted and not. i've seen people mention that the way these episodes are formatted makes it so only a fan of the original manga would be able to enjoy it, with how much time is skipped between each one. i can't really agree with this point, as it is very much structured in the normal episodic anime way, only with some details here and there that probably don't end up being super clear since they weren't addressed but don't actually hinder the overarching narrative or actual character interactions. after all, these dynamics work well enough on their own to be used in whatever situation they get in. it's not that the manga does not do this, but it often feels like they're there to fill time rather than to simply entertain. more often than not, the chapters feel disorganized, same-y and as if they don't have any major purpose to be there than simply "what if x thing happened". it happens, and it's over. probably not inherently a bad thing, i guess it's a matter of presentation after all. ironically, the manga may just feel like more targeted towards fans than the adaptation, as it really takes a long while for these relationships to grow and develop. if i get too many details, it'll get stale and won't feel like i'm really learning much until something major happens. if i just get the core elements, i can build the gaps myself. less can definitely be more. dudes will be dudes, after all.
in that regard, the episode starts with kazuya helping out at mitsuru's house. the place used to be a bigger temple, but over time the land was reduced and the place isn't what it used to be. not a big deal for them though, as they still maintain the place. it's a nice family of 4. mother, father and siblings. sho, mitsuru's younger brother is only a few weeks younger than him, as by the time they found mitsuru outside their house, it had already been a little bit since he was born.
Tumblr media
adoption is usually treated as a careful subject matter, but i don't really think it should be. throughout the manga, mitsuru has his moments of doubting himself, his past, where he comes from and his family. he cares about them and they care about him, specially his brother, but there's always a weird air to it. since he is the older son, he would be the one to take over the shrine, which he's not really sure if he wants to do himself. his mother makes sure to tell him that he doesn't need to worry about it, he should just do whatever he wants to do. his brother misses him, but he needs to focus on himself too. sho seems to be angry at him because mitsuru mentions how he is trying to go live on his own as soon as he can. this is where we get a little bit iffy.
from what i am able to gather, mitsuru feels indebted to his family. they aren't blood related, so sure, he loves them but he knows that they had no right to take him in and they did anyway. it's not that they actually show any sign of it being a pain on them or anything, he is just a son to them. i suppose he feels bad for taking his brother's spot for the shrine, but he doesn't even need to take the place if he doesn't want to. so, in the end, "wanting to leave home as soon as possible" is kinda just a normal thing i believe. i mean sure, deep down it's probably because he doesn't want to be more of a burden, and even if he's not he still wants to make their life easier. this is fine. he makes it such a bigger deal than it should ever be, though. his brother gets pissed at him and his response is "i'm not trying to be an outsider, i am an outsider" my guy what are you saying. kazuya goes as far as to ask him if he ever thinks of his blood related parents and he says no, so what is even his deal? mitsuru wonders to himself if you can still be family even if you aren't blood related, kazuya says that it's love that matters. unfortunately this is literally where this ends and it will never be brought up again or be concluded, because miya appears in front of them. it's unfortunate that it doesn't really get any closure, i feel exploring the meaning of family, specially with kazuya's situation being a thing, could be a really cool addition to the series. nevertheless, it doesn't happen. mitsuru just says that, he feels like he has to leave home as soon as he can, his brother doesn't like this mentality, and that is it. not even the manga chooses to explore this further, that's all there is.
Tumblr media
they bump miya and his boyfriend tenma on their way back to the dorms, kazuya still sees that expression in her face, as if she's about to cry but she's holding back. now before getting ahead of ourselves this guy isn't abusing her or anything, he is kind of just a dude. not the best dude, but a dude nonetheless. miya has been wanting to say thanks to kazuya for a while, but she never gathered the courage to go visit him and say thanks. she would go nearby the school and then run away, never sure herself of why she was doing that. this time with the opportunity right in front of her, the only thing she manages to say is "i'm sorry". inevitably, this almost kills kazuya and gets him sick for a couple of days.
"sorry" doesn't really cut it. sorry for what? she didn't do anything. kazuya decides to give her a call after his brother convinced him to. his counseling is essentially: "you shouldn't care about the other guy, focus on yourself", which is fair enough i suppose, but i think a situation like this is very much gonna depend on who you're talking about. kazuya doesn't want to ask a girl with a boyfriend out, no one wants to be the guy that steals someone else's girlfriend really. but you know, there's something going on here too, as she doesn't seem particularly happy with him either. i think this brother bonding is a good moment for the two of them, although not the most particularly touching. kazuhiro is a fun guy, he is confident and he would do anything he needs to get the girl he loves (he did, after all, get the girl his own brother loved). it does come off as a little weird piece of advice from his part, but it works in context so that's all he needs to call her. she does, however, say sorry again and hang up instantly.
Tumblr media
"i heard hasukawa got rejected by that delinquent girl", no! he hasn't even said anything to her! so the guy decides to wait outside her school to see her. he stays for a week until he finds out she was hospitalized, they find where she's staying and she's already gone. he sends her a letter but tenma grabs it before she can read it. luck is never on his side. persistence, however, never fails. a little bit of a bizarre thing here, tenma explains how "you need a special permission from their parents to date the girls from this school" which i don't - know, if it's a real thing or not in some japanese schools and honestly i don't even feel like looking it up right now. they both leave and run away from kazuya, leaving him alone.
then, on their way home:
vimeo
which is an excellent moment, although my favorite part of this is how loud the trains are it's so funny to me i can't even begin to explain. tenma is a bit of a self centered prick, he mostly shows off his nice side but he's the guy that wants things to go his way all the time, you know. he didn't particularly do anything wrong, he's just a bit of a toxic influence on miya. he's the reason she became a delinquent so maybe he would care about her more (or get scared and dump her), he's the reason why she doesn't feel loved or particularly pretty, he's the reason why she's so sheltered. having a guy like him that won't let you do the things you want, always holding your hand and trying to keep you "safe" isn't part of a healthy relationship. kazuya is the one that incites her into being herself, opening up, finding her strength and dealing with her weakness. "i'm with you", is what he replies to her once she tells him how he feels. it's about finding that person that will be there for you, the one that will always be around and, most of all, love you unconditionally.
Tumblr media
the rest of the manga has a little bit of the aftermath and how the people at greenwood are doing. it, once more, doesn't stand out from the crowd. they're not bad chapters, they're fun. the story is already over, though. the final chapter is actually nasu drawing a bunch of reader requests she never got to do and kazuya inviting some of his friends over to show them around greenwood and work on a project (friends we have never ever seen nor have been mentioned before now, but whatever). here is greenwood in all its glory.
if you didn't care to read all of that, great. this is the tldr; greenwood is about finding that next opportunity. mainly in love, but in most things in life. the anime adaptation takes things in some fresher directions, streamlining the experience and focusing on what is important. in the span of 6 episodes we get to know these guys, what their deal is and how their relationship works and shapes who they are. some more than others, but meeting new people you care about and will be there for you when you need it (for better or for worse) is what makes us human, and what inevitably helps us grow as people. grow out of pains, grow into understanding others and what makes us who we are.
there's something special about the serenity behind it all that i can't quite put into words, hence why i didn't go into much detail. the backgrounds are often soft and share a clean palette with a watercolor texture to it that makes it feel like a never ending dream. compared to the manga in this case, nasu's art is nice and specially with the covers and colored pieces, but it does take a while for characters to particularly pop or look like themselves as they often suffer from the same face syndrome shoujo manga can be known for. color goes a long way into helping battle this. the manga does also often rely on jokes that maybe aren't as funny in the current age, so there's that too.
Tumblr media
the music helps sell the impact of it all, with the magical orchestra that follows around the almost play like scenarios that overcome greenwood on a daily basis. as the subtitle reads "under the tree of memories", like looking back on the moments that mattered the most and shaped the future. the theme of greenwood echoing behind this feeling. some of the other songs they made for the show sell the fun of it all as well i'd strike a comparison with ocean waves considering it's the same director and the same guy doing the music, but i haven't actually seen that so there isn't anything i can mention.
in retrospect, 6 episodes isn't really a whole lot. there's 3 of them that center around some plot and then the other 3 are extra content that focus on whatever the hell they felt like. it's obviously not something for everyone, i'm not gonna come out and say this is a must watch or anything like that, only how i feel about things. stuff doesn't need to be deep, it can just be for self fulfillment. it's often the mindless things that get the most enjoyment out of me, being there to have a good time before anything else. exactly what they do here at any moment, picking out a day at random and making the most out of it. a day where any one of these bandits will get into trouble and they'll come out of it with a smile.
i could wish it was a bit longer. maybe add some of the chapters with the other boys at the dorms, add the part with kazuya's nephew and then him entering the track team and idk, maybe the one with mitsuru and his commercial to actually give an ending to his whole adoptive family thing. alas, this is what we get, and i will not complain.
had it been at a different point in my life i watched this, i probably wouldn't care as much. it speaks to a part of me i hadn't learned about years ago, and would probably only look back on fondly into the future. those things that happen and make you rethink stuff for a good while and, in turn, open your horizons. so, feeling identified with media and connecting with stuff is a bit of what we do this for, i think.

| Combined post #2 | Low-budget horror movies featuring sentient objects as killers
Inanimate Object Characters List | Entry: 41
I have seen none of these and I never will.
This is a bunch of randomness, but as trash as these movies may or may not be (just kidding, ain't no way they are good), they must be included. Otherwise, I would not be able to honestly finish this list.
By the way, the images are gonna be small with these ones.
Tumblr media
Movie: Killdozer (1974) | Object: bulldozer
I'm not sure if I had even heard of this movie until today.
Tumblr media
Movie: Death Bed: The Bed that Eats (1977) | Object: bed
Look at that title. I'm sure this one is already as bad as it sounds...
Tumblr media
Movie: Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (1978) | Object: tomatoes
I think this would work better as an animation like the cover, but in reality, it's a low-budget live-action movie.
Tumblr media
Movie: Ferat Vampire (1982) | Object: car
It's a Czech movie. And I had definitely never heard of it until today.
Tumblr media
Movie: Blades (1988) | Object: lawn mower
Apparently a parody of "Jaws"... I have no idea either, man.
Tumblr media
Movie: Amityville 4: The Evil Escapes (1989) | Object: lamp
This movie revolves around a demonic lamp or whatever.
Tumblr media
Movie: Battle Heater (1989) | Object: heater
It's a Japanese movie. Also looking ⁿᵒᵗ ˢᵒ promising, am I right?
Tumblr media
Movie: I Bought a Vampire Motorcycle (1990) | Object: motor cycle
Are the vampire motorcycle and vampire car from Ferat Vampire related to each other...?
Tumblr media
Movie: Amityville: It's About Time (1992) | Object: clock
Who thought it was a good idea to make more Amityville movies?
Tumblr media
Movie: Amityville: A New Generation (1993) | Object: mirror
I... I give up...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Movie: The Mangler (1995), The Mangler 2 (2002), The Mangler Reborn (2005) | Object: laundry press
I saw the ending... It enough for me to decide not to watch it. Only today, I found out it has a two sequels. How?! And why?!
Tumblr media
Movie: Killer Condom (1996) | Object: condom
Do I even have to say anything...?
Tumblr media
Movie: Deathbed (2002) | Object: bed
No more bed horror movies, please.
Tumblr media
Movie: The Red Shoes (2005) | Object: a pair of high heels
It's a Korean movie.
Tumblr media
Movie: The Wig (2005) | Object: wig
It's a Korean movie... again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Movie: Evil Bong (2006), Evil Bong 2: King Bong (2009), Evil Bong 3: The Wrath of Bong (2011) | Object: bong
And there is a WHOLE FIESTA of Evil Bong sequels. THERE'S 10 FRICKING MOVIES. Indeed, these three are not even all of them.
Tumblr media
Movie: Road Train/Road Kill (2010) | Object: road train
No, it's not a train, it's a kind of semi-truck, apparently.
Tumblr media
Movie: Killer Piñata (2015) | Object: piñata
Its design is pretty funny, honestly - but the movie's rating is not.
Tumblr media
Movie: The Sand (2015) | Object: beach
Tumblr media
Movie: Attack of the Killer Donuts (2016) | Object: donuts
The fact that they made this not even so long ago is embarrassing.
Tumblr media
Movie: Bed of the Dead/The Dwelling (2016) | Object: bed
GUYS. JUST STOP THE BED MOVIES.
Tumblr media
Movie: The Car: Road to Revenge (2019) | Object: car
Walmart Christine, I suppose.
Tumblr media
Movie: The Drone (2019) | Object: drone
Killer drone goes brrrrrr. *someone's neck falls off
Tumblr media
Movie: Bad Hair (2020) | Object: wig
Some concepts just somehow keep on returning, despite yielding bad results (almost) every single time. Like cars, refrigerators, beds and (most surprisingly, in my opinion) hair.
Tumblr media
Movie: The Killing Tree (2022) | Object: Christmas tree
The rating is so bad, that giving it a try is too risky. And that title is foretelling as well. I don't trust such a title to be of a good movie.

✨ 36 movies FINALLY COVERED ✨
This undoubtedly will be the longest post. If people in the future decide to make more low-rating sentient object horror movies, I'll be sure to add them to this list if I come across them. If I don't and you noticed their existence, LEMME KNOW (please).
--
Okay, so I also have come across a bunch of short films revolving around sentient objects, but this list is long enough as it is right now already. So if you are curious, I'll just leave the link down here and you can check out the IMDb list I found yourself:
Inanimate Objects Horror (imdb.com)
I'm a tiny bit annoyed, because it took me a whole while to compile this list, but only after I found most of the titles myself already, I found this list. But oh well, at least some titles I have been able to add because of that list. And there are some titles here that didn't appear in that list, so in the end, some of my work was still useful.
--
Lastly, quick mention of Annabelle and Chucky, because even though they are technically objects, they resemble humans and aren't eligible for this list. However, the characters are quite popular among some horror lovers, so hence this shout-out.

The last chapter 😭 I can't believe it's finished. It's also the longest chapter. (I didn't feel like splitting it up. 😂)
Content warning: fluff and goofing off, please enjoy
.....
Chapter 17
A fresh start
Summer passed by quickly. Fig couldn't stay long, he was only there a few days before he got a bit restless and went back to his professor duties, not that he didn't send owls every once in a while.
Elizabeth, after giving names on the dark wizards she knew was guilty of the unforgivable curses, along side proof and names, was given a pardon. Not that they didn't threaten they'd watch her closely.
It turned out Sara was in fact a squib, but Elizabeth was friends with her sister before her parents decided she wasn't pureblood enough.
Sara admitted to having been shocked to receive Elizabeth's letter, but quickly found you before anything could happen.
Your wizard father was put in Azkaban, probably near Ominis's parent's cell. And though the rest of the Gaunts we're furious about the fact that Ominis was involved in the capture, they didn't retaliate and merely informed him that they don't consider him family anymore.
Not that it bothered him, he could live his life without them. Having the imagined protection of the Ministry and Hogwart's teachers had it's benefits.
The Sallow twins grew closer than you'd ever seen, Anne looked as healthy as Sebastian and though she did still miss her uncle at times, she couldn't forgive him for what he put her brother through.
They were finally getting back to how they used to be, you could tell by the way Sebastian and Ominis smiled.
There were a couple times when you felt like a fourth wheel and stepped back to let them have their time, but as if sensing your mood shift, Ominis would always bring you back into it or move closer to tell you embarrassing stories about them until they'd over hear and scold him.
The relationship between you and Ominis only grew stronger as the summer went on, even if he was embarrassed often by Sebastian teasing you two about it.
Anne squeaked happily, pulling you out of your daydream, as she practically raced through Diagon Alley with Sebastian in tow.
"They're going to be up to no good before we even reach the school gates," Ominis mumbled from beside you.
"At least they keep it interesting," you replied, bumping his shoulder with yours.
"Too interesting sometimes."
"Oh, my goodness they're cute!" Your mom said moving to the animal shop after giving you and Ominis a heart attack.
Elizabeth chuckled as she moved over to keep her from buying all of the animals she saw.
"So, did you get everything you needed for this year?" You asked, already pulling your list from your pocket to check it again.
"Yes, I managed to grab everything while Sebastian and Anne dragged me around as if we haven't been here a hundred times."
Smiling, you glanced his way, seeing him focusing like he was trying to find them in the large crowd.
"They went into the joke shop," you mentioned, earning a heavy sigh.
"I swear, I'm going to need to tie them to something," he mumbled, getting you to laugh.
"Tie bells to them so they sound like reindeer as they run."
He snickered, before his hand slipped into yours, pulling you further into the crowd.
"Where are we going?"
He didn't answer, too busy keeping from colliding into people, at least until we ended up finding Professor Fig.
"Ah, I thought that was you," Ominis teased as Fig chuckled.
"Just getting some last minute things before the start of term," he mentioned, smiling at both of you. "Anything I should know about?"
Nodding you motioned behind you. "I'd avoid Sebastian and Anne, they're in Zonko's and who knows what they have up their sleeves now."
He hummed in thought for a second, before he nodded. "An excellent idea, though I am in a little rush, but it was good to see you both."
You cocked your head as he moved passed you. "Do you get the feeling that everyone is purposely avoiding us?"
Shaking his head, he turned towards you. "I'm sure they're just busy and excited. It's only a few days before we go back to Hogwarts."
Settling for that being the reason, you smiled. "Anne was pretty enthusiastic to be in her robes again, she went to sleep smiling."
Ominis chuckled. "She does know she has extensive exams because she missed them last year."
"Ah, let her enjoy it before you crush her with homework," you teased, squeezing his hand.
"For Merlin's sake, it's like you're married and talking about your child."
You looked over seeing Sebastian staring at you two in disbelief as Anne whacked him on the shoulder. "Forgive my bone-headed brother, he's never had a girlfriend and doesn't understand the concept."
"I beg your pardon, I've had girlfriends before."
Ominis's brows bunched. "I'm quite sure your longest lasting relationship, outside of the three of us, is with Madam Scribner."
You and Anne completely lost it as Sebastian pouted for a second before pulling Ominis away, complaining about how he was supposed to be on his side.
"Man, that was a good one," you whispered, wiping a tear from the corner of your eye.
"You rubbed off on him," she teased, before she looped an arm through yours and began down the street.
"I'm pretty sure he's had that before I came into the picture, but I'm more concerned about what you and Sebastian are planning."
She fixed her expression to look innocent. "We're not planning anything, we're just getting a few things to make life at school interesting."
Snickering, you nodded. "You two are going to get enough detentions that you'll still be there long after you graduate, aren't you?"
She grinned, unabashed. "The two of us? You and Ominis are part of this too. I mean, it's not going to be as eventful as your last year, but we'll make do."
Laughing, she bumped into you playfully. "I never really thanked you for watching out for the both of them. You and Ominis are practically tied at the hip lately." She was satisfied with you blushing, so she pressed on. "I don't know where'd Sebastian and I would be if you hadn't found out the truth and convinced me to come back. So, thank you. And for taking that curse out also. I think Sebastian and I would be dead right now if it wasn't for you."
"No, you two are stronger and smarter than you think. I'm sure Sebastian would have found another way to help you."
She smiled as she patted my wrist. "Seeing as you're not going to accept my compliments," she said, narrowing her eyes teasingly. "Just know that we really do appreciate what you've done for us."
"Well, to be fair. If it wasn't for either of them, I'm pretty sure things would have ended up differently too."
She smiled as our attention was drawn to the chaos of the crowd, just staring as people went by.
Getting all of your things together was your top priority. You didn't want to lose anything or leave it behind.
"Hey," Sebastian called, poking his head into the room. "Your moms want you for a second."
He left before you could answer, so you stood up and headed to the kitchen after putting your folded robes in the trunk.
Your moms weren't to be found, instead, Ominis was in the kitchen.
"Do you happen to know where my moms are? Sebastian said they were looking for me."
He smiled as he moved closer. It took you a moment to register the cloth in his hand.
"What are you doing?" You asked as he moved to stand in front of you.
"It's a surprise," he answered, while his fingers brushed over your skin to find your temples, the last thing you saw was a peaceful expression on his face. "My job is to make sure the surprise isn't ruined as I bring you there."
He carefully tied the blindfold, forcing your body to use your other senses to track him.
The soft sound of his clothes as he moved or the light tap of his shoes as he shifted.
It all drowned out instantly as his fingers dragged along the back of your jaw bone, shooting tingles over your skin.
You weren't quite sure what he was doing, but it had your heart racing, something he felt as his pinky rested against your pulse.
He chuckled, sending a puff of air over your lips, which didn't help calm your mind or heart.
When his lips pressed into yours, it felt stronger than it had the first time, maybe because you were blindfolded?
"Happy early birthday," he whispered softly, still close enough to cascade breath over your skin.
You stood dumbfounded as he pulled back and trailed his hands down your arm to grab yours. Signaling he was ready to lead you wherever you were going.
You can't believe you forgot your own birthday. You knew it was on the first day of term, but you'd been so wrapped up in how excited Anne and Sebastian were, that you didn't even think about what else it was.
"Now, this gives a new meaning to the blind leading the blind," you teased, hoping to hide that you forgot it, getting a laugh.
"There's no need to be nervous, I won't let you walk into a wall."
You found it hard to believe him when he sounded way too amused at the idea.
As soon as you felt him tug your hand, you immediately grabbed onto his with your other as he snickered.
He lead you outside, making sure you were careful going down the stairs and through some kind of fabric curtains, before you could hear a bunch of people shifting around nearby.
Ominis let go of your hand, moving behind you to untie your blindfold.
You had to blink to adjust to the light, but once you did, you saw a large tent full of your Hogwarts friends, Deek, Professors Fig, Weasley, Garlick, Hecat and Ronen. The words Happy birthday were hanging like lights as everyone held their wands up to form them and in the center was a cake in the shape of an old pocket watch your dad used to have, which you hadn't seen in years.
"Happy birthday!" Everyone cheered, though Professor Weasley added a bit about making this year less adventurous than the last.
Imelda snickered, but said nothing as the letters popped like fireworks and ended up dusting the cake with rainbow sprinkles, which would turn colors every so often.
"You completely forgot about your birthday, didn't you?" Your mom asked, smiling as she hugged you from the side.
"A little," you admitted, getting a few laughs, before Everett started making a ruckus about the broom races.
"It definitely feels like Hogwarts," you laughed as Imelda was red in the face.
Once things began to wind down, most of the students left with their families, leaving you, Ominis, the Sallow twins, your moms and Fig.
"You never told me the day the dragon attacked was your birthday."
You smiled as you propped your aching feet up on the legs of the table. "Going to Hogwarts was always something I dreamt about, so that letter was the best present I could have asked for."
"What a way to soil the day though," Anne whispered. "Is that why you've sort of adopted Professor Fig as a father figure?"
You glared as Fig's eyes widened, though there was a small smile as you threw some wrapping paper at her. "I told you that in confidence."
"She's worse than Sebastian with secrets, unless they're her own."
That earned him the wrapping paper to the chest, but he merely laughed.
"Noted."
She shrugged as Sebastian gave her a playful push.
"We have one more present for you," your mom said walking over with Elizabeth following. "It's from both of us."
You carefully opened it as you heard something rattling inside.
You tipped the box over your hand and our slipped the pocket watch, making you try to hold back tears as your eyes snapped to your moms.
"Elizabeth found it after I mentioned it a few weeks ago. I know David would want you to have it."
"David?" Ominis asked.
You nodded, knowing he wouldn't be able to see it. "My dad."
His brows pinched when he heard you trying to hold back tears.
"They're happy tears Ominis," Anne informed quickly.
He still scooted close and rested his hand against your back.
"Thank you," you choked out, clasping the watch between your hands. "This is...more than I could ask for."
Your moms' smiled as they squished you into a hug while you accidentally dampened their hair.
"Making the birthday girl cry," Sebastian teased, getting whacked by his sister. "What?"
"Oh shush."
Your moms' pulled back, both smiling sadly as you wiped at your eyes with the back of your hands.
"You okay?" Ominis asked, rubbing your back gently.
"Yeah, I didn't think I was going to see this ever again."
You slipped it into your pocket so you wouldn't lose it as Sara looked to Professor Fig. "Are you staying the night?"
"It was my hope to bring them to school properly this time, without any dragons."
Everyone chuckled as you cleared away the remaining streaks from your cheeks.
"That sounds lovely," Elizabeth smiled. "You're welcome to stay."
"That's kind of you, thank you."
Sara clapped, drawing everyone's attention. "Okay, time to clean up. I'll wash the dishes, twins can you bring them in?" They nodded, already standing. "Elizabeth, will you ready Eleazar's room?"
"And me?" Ominis asked after a moment of silence.
"You're distracting the birthday girl so she doesn't try to help," Anne replied gathering dishes.
They moved from the tent as your eyes turned to Ominis. "You were saddled with babysitting."
He chuckled, shaking his head as he moved his arm over the back of your chair while leaning in.
"How are you doing?"
Smiling while resting your head against his temple carefully, calmed the burning emotions inside. "I'm fine Ominis. It's been a wonderful night."
"I'm glad, we were trying very hard to keep the preparations from you. Knowing how curious you are, we had to get creative."
Chuckling, you squeezed his hand. You had noticed they were acting strange in town, but you weren't going to tell him that.
After a few moments, you felt him press into your head further.
"You're falling asleep, aren't you?"
"No," he replied, though it came out in a low whisper.
Chuckling, you pulled back, making him almost fall into you completely. "Come on, I don't think I'll be able to carry you."
Figuring you were right, he stood up, stifling a yawn with the back of his hand.
You two earned a few snickers as you passed the twins, not that they would say anything out loud and you were too tired to care.
The both of you started to get ready for bed, though once he'd brushed his teeth he left the bathroom to change his clothes, while you quickly showered and changed into your night clothes.
When you walked out into the room, seeing he was sitting in the chair beside the bed, but asleep.
Shaking your head, you moved over and gently shook his shoulder.
"I'm awake," he mumbled, softly sighing, but didn't move to get up.
You tugged on his wrist, but he still didn't budge.
Smirking, you tried to pull him up to his feet, but without help he just ended up flopping against the cushions.
He mumbled out a complaint as he sat up again.
If you could just get him into the bed, you could inform the twins and switch rooms.
This time, when you pulled his arm, he stood up.
You pulled the blankets back, before you sat him down on the bed.
He mumbled something about not needing help as he laid down, but you still pulled the blankets over him and set his wand on the nightstand.
Hearing him sigh as he settled in made you smile, before you shut the light off and headed from the room, running into the twins as you closed the door.
"Put him to bed?" Sebastian asked.
"He didn't even notice he fell asleep in the wrong room," you admitted, scratching your arm awkwardly. "We might have to switch rooms tonight."
"Nuh uh, I just got my pillow the way I like it," Sebastian remarked giving an exaggerated level of sass before heading off to his room.
"He's impossible."
Anne clapped you on the shoulder. "Yes, but we can get revenge on him later." She moved to head after him. "Goodnight."
Realizing they were leaving you to return to share a bed with Ominis, made your heart race at the mere thought.
"Even if I can't, I can sleep on the couch or the floor," you rationalize as you moved opened the door as carefully as possible.
You stood, paced and fretted at the foot of the bed, trying to think of pros and cons of this idea.
You wouldn't mind sharing a bed with him, but when he woke up, would he be upset? Or what if your parents found you? It wouldn't look as innocent as it was.
"Sebastian, can you stop pacing and go to sleep?"
You froze mid-step, looking his way. You didn't realize you were waking him up.
Sighing, your curiosity won and you climbed under the blankets. Even if you kept to the edge, you could feel the dip in the bed and you couldn't seem to trick yourself into believing it was Anne.
Just when you were about to tell yourself you were about to try sleeping on the couch, Ominis rolled over against your back, with his arm going over your side.
Worried you'd breath too loud and wake him, you tried to silence it only to feel like you were suffocating.
His arm tightened as you inhaled sharply.
You had no idea how he couldn't hear your heart practically exploding or slept with a face full of your hair, but if he did this to Sebastian before, he was probably used to it.
Your nerves sent butterflies to go crazy in your chest as you could hear his shallow breathing nearly beside your ear.
It didn't take long before the sound pulled you into a peaceful rest.
As you opened your eyes, the sun burnt at them, forcing you to close them for a second before shielding them, seeing the spot beside you was empty.
Yawning, you sat up and moved to go to the bathroom.
Your mind had forgotten about sharing a bed as your excitement to be heading back to school pushed to the forefront.
You practically danced into the kitchen seeing Anne and Sebastian already at the table.
"Morning," you called, moving to the table.
"Morning," Anne replied, sounding amused which made you look up seeing Sebastian staring at you.
"There's nothing on my face Sebastian, I already looked in the mirror."
He looked unperturbed by your annoyance, but perhaps he was used to your back and forth.
"You're as beautiful on the outside as you are inside," he whispered, still wide eyed.
You froze, before you looked to Anne who was also staring at him. Curious, you reach over and took his cup, sniffing it for any signs of spiking, but it smelt like tea. "Well, you're not drunk, but Ominis will be upset you took some of his tea."
Anne snickered, moving her hand to cover her mouth.
"What?"
She shook her head as you glanced back at Sebastian, who was still staring.
"What's the matter with you this morning?"
It was making you very uncomfortable, he knew you were with Ominis and this was only making things weird.
He blinked as if finally realizing what he was doing and cleared his throat about to explain, but laughter erupted from behind you, getting you to look over, startling as you saw Sebastian.
"Man, your face was priceless," he laughed as he walked over and sat beside Anne, after pointing at a strategically placed mirror.
Your eyes danced between both Sebastians' until the answer came to you.
Polyjuice potion.
"Ominis?" Seeing Sebastian look at you the way he did, made you uneasy. "I'm not kissing you while you look like that."
"Hey, what's wrong with my face?" Sebastian asked with a piece of toast stuffed against his cheek so he could talk.
"Everything," you fired back, earning a flat glance before he rolled his eyes. "So, why'd you polyjuice yourself?"
"It was my idea actually," Sebastian said quickly. "He kept asking me what you looked like and he wouldn't take a Mongrel for an answer."
"You've been cooking a polyjuice potion for a month here?"
He shrugged like it was no big deal. "Why do you think I was persistent you didn't sleep in our room last night? It also gave Ominis butterflies when he found out he slept in the same room as you."
Immediately, Ominis blushed and glared at his doppelganger.
Ignoring Sebastian, you looked at Ominis. "How long ago did you drink that stuff?"
"It should wear off in the next forty minutes," he admitted, his eyes dancing over your features as if trying to commit them to memory.
You glanced between the three of them and shook your head. "Now you're triplets."
Anne laughed. "One Sebastian is enough. I doubt we could handle two."
You nodded as Sebastian tossed a piece of crust at his sister.
She snickered as she looked between us with mischief in her face. "You know what we should do once we get back to Hogwarts?" She paused for effect. "We should try becoming animagi."
The real Sebastian's face lit up as you and Ominis locked gazes, though you smiled. "It definitely feels like this year is going to be as eventful as the last."
"We try to live up to expectations," Anne teased as you heard your parents heading out of their room, with Professor Fig's voice mingling in.
"Well, something to look forward to," you whispered, getting Ominis to sigh playfully dramatic, but nod before anyone could see.

for the love your fandom ask game, 1, 2, 3, 8, 16, 24? and if i may ask, why is your ask box labelled "get in the fucking robot"
get in the fucking robot is a reference to neon genesis evangelion which is my other favorite anime besides dn.
1) list 3 positive things about your current fandom(s) - still active after 20 years - birthed some of the best fan created content i have ever seen in any fandom - spirited debates and fandom wank that is objectively so stupid and problematic and horrible but funny for me to watch because i'm always right
2) a headcanon you weren’t sure about at first but have come to like! flat butt light. fine. he can have a flat butt. i still think he's a gym bunny because of reasons that i have detailed elsewhere but the pancake ass truthers can have this one.
3) a character that fandom has helped you appreciate near! i was literally so middle of the road on him but reading some brilliant meronia works by besties like @neallo & @brothercrush really helped me understand why he's a beloved fan favorite.
8) you hope more people will come to appreciate ___ (a ship, a trope, an episode, etc) don't cancel me but i hope more people come to enjoy a bit of the darker/edgier/dead dove content that used to dominate the fandom. before anybody comes for me and says 'well you don't really write dead dove' 1) i have a few dead dove fics & 2) i started writing lighthearted stuff because i couldn't find any fluff that i liked.
16) a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate light is one of the only manga protags with a massive wardrobe.
24) how has fandom positively impacted your life? i don't know how to say this in a non-melodramatic (haha) way so i'll just be melodramatic. i actually think that rejoining the fandom and becoming a creator within it saved my life. i was at the tail end of the longest depressive episode of my life and i had to do SOMETHING. i racked my brain for the last time i cracked a smile and i remembered going on tumblr back in the halcyon days and looking at my light yagami jpegs iykyk. so i did that. and here i am. thank fuck!

Hello.
It has been almost a year since my first post. I think that I should talk about my main interests now. I have already talked about my music interests, but this is a list of various things I got into between the ages of 7 and 16. If you would like to interact with me about these, I suppose that would be fine, although I will hesitate a lot before responding.
Here you go, media related phases I have had in my life: 1. One Direction (2012-present, peak in 2014-2017). My longest lasting phase that I can think of.
2. Frozen (2013-2014, watched the movie in 2014).
3. Despicable Me and Minions (2014).
4. Minecraft (2014-present, peak in 2014-2016). I am a fan of the original Minecraft YouTubers such as DanTDM and Stampy.
5. Five Nights at Freddy's (2015-present). I watched DanTDM play FNAF 2 and enjoyed it.
6. Yandere Simulator (present, peak in 2015-2017). Yes, I am very aware that the creator is extremely problematic.
7. My Little Pony (2015-present).
8. Undertale (2017). Again, I watched DanTDM play it and enjoyed it.
9. Little Mix (2017-present, peak in 2017-2020).
10. Tomodachi Life (2017-2018, 2020-present). The first time period was when I watched DanTDM play it, and the second time period is when I discovered Vinesauce and watched Vinny play it.
11. LazyTown (2018-2019). I grew up with it in early childhood, but I discovered the memes later on in life.
12. The Sims (2018-2020). I would really like to get one of the games.
13. Doki Doki Literature Club (2020-present). The only PEGI-18 game I will ever get.
14. Animal Crossing (2021-present).
15. Ace Attorney (2021-present). This is the one I got this account for, to lurk around in the tag multiple times a day.
And that is it. I have tagged some of them below.

Hey! Loved your fics. Am already halfway through your Maxenna ones already 💕 Would love your HC using prompts from 35 OTP questions: 10. What’s each member flirting style? 13. What was the most surprising thing they learned about one another once they started dating?21. What articles of clothing do they "borrow" from one another? 29. How likely are they to have fur babies? How many and what kind? 33. What is their sex life like? 35. Choose one song that perfectly describes their relationship :D
Hi Nonny! I'm so glad you're enjoying my fics, especially Maxenna. I'm so sorry for taking so long to reply. It's been a busy few months, and I've been in a bit of a brain fog. Here goes.
From this OTP Ask list.
10. What’s each member's flirting style?
Ethan: Unintentional flirt but I suppose Subtle Flirting is the closest. He has a dry wit, which can be appealing to some (aka Cassie). When he puts his mind to it, he is very successful, but he also doesn't have the patience for it.
Sienna: She's a mix of Sincere and Polite flirting. She pays attention, active listening, eye contact and compliments. She's all about building deeper connection, but Max brings out her playful side.
Cassie and Max: The twins are very flirty and always have been. It just comes naturally to them (and often gets them into trouble). Their styles are a mix of playful, physical and witty.
13. What was the most surprising thing they learned about one another once they started dating?
Ethan was surprised by how much Cassie treasured her alone time and quiet time. He always assumed she was an extrovert who needed people around her. But she likes the balance and is happy to stay home and read or watch TV. Cassie was surprised that Ethan enjoys cuddling on the couch (or in bed) and feeling connected physically. Physical touch is one of his love languages.
Max and Sienna knew each other extraordinarily well before they started dating because they had been friends for so many years. As such, there weren't any major surprises. Still, Sienna was surprised by how serious he could be, and seeing him in his world was eye-opening. Max was equally surprised by her stubbornness.
21. What articles of clothing do they "borrow" from one another?
Cassie often borrows Ethan's old tee shirts and refuses to give them back. He thinks she looks better in them anyway. Sienna tends to sleep in Max's shirts when he's traveling. She also borrows his old college hoodies when she's chilling at home.
29. How likely are they to have fur babies? How many and what kind?
Cassie wasn't allowed to have pets for the longest time because they would run away. But one day, in the distant future, she'll have Watson (who technically belongs to her children). You can read about that here.
Max gets Sienna a Westie for her birthday, which she named Bailey. I did a text fics/edit about that here. Bailey is the sweetest dog. I haven't decided if they will have more pets. They have four kids and busy careers/lives. But I hc that Amelia (the third child) likes animals and will convince her parents to get her a cat.
33. What is their sex life like?
I've answered a few asks about this, so I'm linking the main post here about both pairing's sex life.
35. Choose one song that perfectly describes their relationship.
It's so hard to pick one song! My mind is blanking now, so here's a post about their songs.
These are the songs I listen to the most to put me in the mood for their relationship when I'm writing their fics:
Ethan & Cassie:
Labyrinth - Taylor Swift
Sanctuary - Serena Ryder
The Only One - James Blunt
Maxenna:
Me and You - Jake Bugg
Eyes on You - Chase Rice
Unforgettable - Thomas Rhett
Thanks for the ask!
