She watched her life’s work burn, and then - and THEN her husband, the man she loved, not only turned on her, but tried to fucking choke her to death and nearly succeeded. THEN after all that, she gave birth in what appears to have been a particularly difficult birth (I can’t imagine nearly dying helped), and the compound psychological and physical stresses killed her.

It’s really not fucking hard. 

But no. It’s just ‘George Lucas is baffled by the Uterus’. Because it’s so much easier to say that than to engage your brain for five seconds.

Hm. Most stuff gets cut out because I don't really like it, or it's just one sentence in the middle of something. This one here was kind of nice, but I removed it when I streamlined his thoughts about his past.

It's from Till Death (Ebook | WIP Intro), who would have thought. Also, because I don't think I have the graveyard documents of the others anymore.

He couldn’t stop his thoughts from wandering back to the last time he had felt this empty. To being pinned beneath a pile of rubble, his leg crushed by the weight. To the girls, one bleeding heavily from a head wound, one impaled on a broken plank. To his magic, wasted on his own, non-fatal wounds, despite his best efforts to stop it and focus it on what was important. He might have lost his leg. He would have given it, but his magic had never obeyed him. For as long as he lived, he would never forget the blood on his hands, and the terror in their eyes, and the crushing realization that he wasn’t enough.

It's funny; I usually remember the first draft in much more details than the edits, so I have no idea anymore how it turned out in the end.
