"Back the fuck up, thank you." - Miles G. Morales Earth42!Miles Morales x Booksmart!Reader TWs: Cursing, n I think that's it Ingredients: Sugar, kisses, and a lil bit of smiles! W/C: 980? A/N: This was another request that I rlly loved working on! Enjoy luvs ꨄ
Tumblr media
You and your boyfriend, Miles, had been dating for around 10 months or so. He didn't have the best reputation with the faculty, skipping out on certain classes, having the lowest participation score out of most of the students, and overall wasn't a very happy camper. It's not like his grades were bad, oh hell no! He just wasn't a very optimistic person and opted to fade into the background of most people's lives. Which for some reason had the opposite effect, inducing random girls and, very very rarely, boys to throw themselves at him just to say 'I know Miles.'
Now when he decided to join his school's basketball team, shit only got worse for him. He used to eat his food in the lunch room until a pool of girls decided to sit near him in an attempt to snatch his attention. This obviously pissed Miles off even more, pushing him further back into the shadows and closing himself off even more from the people around him. So he decided to eat in the library. It was empty for the most part, with about 5 students eating together and talking, one of them being you. There you sat with your group of girls, chatting away about random topics, ignoring the rather aggressive slam of the library door. For you, it was just another lunch before you went back to your classes.
As you skipped to your 5th-period class, you parted ways with your friend Kayla as you prepared to be assigned the 2-person project your teacher had gone over yesterday. You obviously weren't a fan of work, but you were excited regardless to choose your partner. So when class got started and the teacher announced he would be ASSIGNING your partners? Honey, you were pissed off. The class erupted full of irritated groans and 'Oh my god's as he listed off the names, choosing the oddest combos you'd ever heard in your life. He called your name, and then Miles as you rolled your eyes slightly. Really, you wanted to be with your best friend Amai, but you didn't have much of a choice, did you?
When the teacher finished reading off the list of pairs, everyone scattered across the room to sit next to their partner. So you moved accordingly, scooting your desk over to Miles's with a couple of noisy scrapes. He wasn't exactly rude, just didn't really seem interested. You really didn't feel like explaining what you wanted to do to someone who wasn't listening, so you just decided to compromise.
"Look, we don't have to talk at all, but at least come find me today so we can work on this project. We don't even have to speak, just correct something or write notes on the slides."
So you met every day for the next 2 weeks in the library, with Miles gradually warming up to you as you spent more time together. He went from saying 2-3 words a day to you to having full-fledged debates on random topics. Even when the project was over, he still hung around. Inviting you to watch him practice for his games, putting you on his cfs story on insta, and stationing you in the front row every time he had a basketball game without fail. So it wasn't necessarily a surprise when he asked you out.
You snuck around together for the next 10 months, not really wanting to deal with questions about each other. You had grades to keep up, and he didn't want to attract any attention. Spending minimal time together during school hours but hanging out in Miles's dorm or his house after hours, spending countless nights in each other's arms. He asked you to come to yet another one of his basketball games, to which you happily agreed to make an appearance.
You sat on the benches as you silently cheered for Miles, giving him discreet little heart signs and blowing tiny kisses in his direction every now and again. He winked at you, and no sooner than he did you heard a girl behind you begin to blab on.
"Bitch he winked at me! Oh my god!"
You felt a vein in your temple tense, exercising all of the strength in your body to not turn around. She stepped down a row, sitting slightly close to you as you watched her wave frantically, which Miles ignored. The game went on for about another 45 minutes, with Home scoring the winning shot. The court erupted with loud cheering, you had that same amount of school pride as you yelled along with the crowd. As the team celebrated in the middle of the court, a few players walked over to whoever was important to them in the crowd fixed on the benches.
Miles made a quick glance at you before briefly nodding backward, indicating for him to follow him to the back like you would usually do. Just as you were getting your stuff ready, that dumb bimbo quickly hopped up to grab at his arm. He wasted absolutely zero time in pushing her off, giving her a rather stern "I have a girlfriend. Back the fuck up, thank you." with a grimace that said nothing but pure disgust. He jogged up to you, pulling you from the front of the bleachers and pulling you into a deep kiss. A couple people perked up at the action, watching as two people who seemingly didn't even know each other casually kissed in the middle of the court.
Bitches were mad that day, their delusions coming to a very sharp halt as the reality of Miles's girlfriend smacked them like a backhand from Floyd Mayweather. But you didn't give a single fuck as Miles cooed a gentle "I love you, mi amor." Into your ear. You knew who he preferred over everyone in the school; that mattered to you.

Birthday wish | Mary Earps x Reader
Summary: Where you surprise Mary for her birthday.
Woso masterlist | Words: 1.2k
-----
Your wife has been the England goalkeeper for quite some years now, but her being away on camp, and away for matches never got easier. With quality time and physical touch being your main love languages, it was hard being away from her. Mary always made sure to video call you once a day when she was away. It didn't matter if she was surrounded by her teammates or not, she would get the call in before you headed to bed.
You had been missing her a lot today, so when you heard your phone ring in the other room, you rushed to it to answer. “Hi baby, I missed you so much!” Mary's face lights up at your words, “I missed you too, my love.” You hear a chuckle in the background, “She really did, y/n/n, she wouldn't shut up about you.” Mary rolled her eyes, “Shut up, Bright.”
She focussed her attention back on you. “How was your day?” After Millie's comment it was hard to wipe the smile off of your face. “It was alright, I did some chores and errands today. Too little distraction to not miss you constantly though.” Mary knew you struggled with time apart from each other for longer periods of time. While she was always working when those periods happened, she put extra effort into texting you about her day, no matter how much teasing from her teammates it got her. “How was your day?” Mary told you about practice and their afternoon off. “Oh, and just checking, you haven't opened your birthday present yet, right?” Mary shook her head, “I have not. I promised you I wouldn't, my love.” Mary's birthday would be during camp, and though you had planned to celebrate together when she would be back home, you still wanted to gift her something for the day off.
After you hung up the phone you immediately texted Millie.
You: Hey Mills, can you help me with something?
A couple days later it was your wife's birthday, you had sent her a voice note wishing her a happy birthday, and texted her that you were heading into work. Millie was an hour behind, so you knew she wasn't awake yet. With one more picture of you sent her way, you headed to the car.

y/nearps: Happy birthday to my wonderful wife. May you always be a kid at heart. I love you.
-----
Back at camp, while Mary was still asleep, Millie opened the hotel room for the rest of the team. When everyone had quietly moved into the room, Millie counted down from three on her hands. After one, everyone in the room loudly started singing, “Happy birthday to you.” Mary sat up in the bed instantly with widened eyes, in shock from the loud wake up call. “Happy birthday dear Mary, happy birthday to you!” She should've known her teammates were up to something, there had been whispers all around her yesterday.
A couple hours later, when training was done, the team met for lunch in the dining hall. The whole team, including staff this time, sang happy birthday to Mary. She got her present from the coaches, and blew out the candles on the cake. While everyone is enjoying a piece of cake, Millie speaks up. “We've got one more thing.” She walked up to the small podium where the projector was stationed, and connected her phone. A still of your face showed upon connection, and the team started whistling, making Mary roll her eyes jokingly. Millie pressed play, and moved to the side. “Hello my birthday girl, and everyone else who is watching along.” You waved to the camera. “I hope you will have an amazing birthday. You have a lot of great people surrounding you today, so I know it will be great. I wish I could be there to celebrate with you. Anyways, happy birthday baby, I love you. See you soon.” You ended the video with blowing a kiss.
When everyone settled down Beth turned to Mary, “It's disgusting how in love you two are.” Mary raises her eyebrows, “You're one to talk, Mead.” The rest of the group laugh at the both of you.
Mary grabs her phone to send you a text.
Mary: Just saw your video. Thank you so much my love ❤️
She didn't expect you to text back instantly, but she immediately felt giddy when she saw you were typing.
Y/n: Ofc baby, I wanted to make sure your day had some nice surprises :)
Y/n: Speaking of surprises, have you opened your present already?
Mary: Not yet, I wanted to open it on call with you.
Y/n: I have a moment now, if you're free?
Mary: Yes! Give me like 5 minutes? The team has been nosy, so I'm gonna head to the room quickly.
Y/n: Okay baby, take your time.
Mary quickly made her way to her room, her phone ready to call in her hand when she opened the door. She was about to press call when she noticed something from the corner of her eye. She looked up and could not believe her eyes. Under a bundle of balloons stood the person she had just wanted to call. So, instead of pressing call, she ran into your arms. “You're here? You are really in Italy with me?” You smiled and kissed her lips. “I am, until the end of the week. Happy birthday, baby.” After a few more kisses, Mary takes your hand and guides you to the side of the bed. “I am so glad you're here. I've missed you so much. I wished for you to be here when I blew out the candles earlier. I'm going to need to take these birthday wishes more seriously, if all it did was one wish to get you here.” You peck her lips, “You're very cute, but I think instead of the birthday candles you should thank Millie, she helped me set all of this up.”
You spend a moment together, just the two of you to catch up on some cuddles, and just conversation. Mary opened the gift you got her. It was a necklace that matched with her wedding ring, and had it engraved with the date of your wedding in it. Mary loved it a lot, she had been saying she wanted more necklaces, so this was both perfect and super special.
In the meantime Millie had shared the plans she had set up with you with the rest of the groups, so they understood why their goalkeeper was away for so long. When the two of you made your way over to the group, you hugged all of the girls.
While the girls would be busy with training during your stay, you know you were going to have a great few days here. The team had the afternoon off, so with Mary and a few of the girls you explored some parts of Italy. It was safe to say that Mary had a great birthday, with you by her side.

Beyond the Glitter of Gold
Yandere Kalim
Masterlist
‎‎‎
i really couldn't think of a better title ;-; just a little idea that had been stuck in my head and i needed to get out
Tumblr media
Kalim had never wanted for anything.
How could he, when the Asim family that he was the heir to was one of the wealthiest in all of the Scalding Sands? Anything he had ever wanted had always just been an ask away from being within his grasp; there was no doubt that the world was his oyster when the gold and jewels and treasures lost in a single vault back home was worth more than entire cities. Yet -
"I was just over for dinner yesterday, I would hate to intrude ag-" You hadn't even completed your sentence before Kalim interjected.
"No, no, you wouldn't be a bother at all!" He laughed, propping his hands on his waist, cheery grin pulling his lips from ear to ear. "You have to come over for dinner tonight, Jamil is making your favorite baked sweets with pistachios and almonds today. Right, Jamil?"
Said dark-skinned boy simply nodded. "Certainly. You will always be welcomed at the Scarabia dorm."
Watching you bite your lip as you contemplated his now almost-daily request for you to come over and join him at his dorm, the usually carefree, jolly housewarden found himself mirroring the uncertain expression clear on your face as he held his breath, anxiously awaiting your response and praying that you didn’t catch the desperation in his tone. For the very first time, the Asim heir had found himself wanting - no, craving - for something money couldn't buy him, with his mood for the rest of his day hanging treacherously in the balance depending on your answer.
The shiny solid gold discs that hung from his accessories jingled in the light wind that swept down the open hallways, the gold that Kalim was always clad in glimmering lightly in the soft sunlight that reached in the inner corridor. Around the three of you, waves of students flowed past as if following the breeze, the light tapping of shoes across well-worn cobblestone floors, combined with chatter, rising into a lively background hubbub associated with school life. Curious gazes were tossed your way from time to time, though it was certainly more at Kalim and Jamil; after all, what could a housewarden and vice-housewarden possibly want with you, of all people? But they would get no answers from either boy or you, not with just their gazes, and so on they trotted to their various destinations, questions being pushed to the back of their mind.
"I probably shouldn’t." When you next spoke, your tone was almost apologetic, as if already gearing up to turn him down. "Trein assigned a lot of homework and it's due soon."
In an instant, the sunny look on the Asim heir’s face dropped, Kalim letting out a pathetic whimper like you had personally walked up and kicked him in the gut. Your words instantly trailed off, a dagger to his heart. “You really can’t come over?” All he wanted was to spend more time with you, was that so wrong? Money had never interested the white-haired boy, nor did he understand the motivation of the jealous and the spiteful who would go to any extent to lay their hands on his inheritance, but for once, for once he wished the glitters of gold worked its magic on you. “Not even just for dinner?”
No, you - the Ramshackle Dorm Prefect, somehow pulled into Night Raven College from another world - had an equal amount of interest in the glitters of gold as you had magical abilities. Which was to say, zero. Woe is him.
‎‎
‎‎
The undecidedness in your expression only grew as you glanced away uncomfortably from your friend’s heartbroken expression, yet seemingly frozen on the spot, unsure of what your next move should be. And it was the same thoughts that Jamil assumed you had, your face an open book that he didn’t find difficult to read in the slightest. But after the unfortunate series of events that he put Kalim through during the winter holidays, it was the least he could do to make it up to his master as a loyal servant of the Asim family. Helping to fulfill such a simple desire shouldn’t even be an afterthought for a personal attendant of Jamil’s caliber.
“It would be a pity if you couldn’t attend dinner,” Jamil sighed dramatically, shaking his head as he rested one hand on his waist, sharp charcoal gray eyes subtly scanning your body language. “I suppose all my hard work making those desserts would have to go to waste.”
As for you, well. The Scarabia vice-housewarden didn’t think you were so bad to have around.
You blinked, the mention of your favorite treat combined with the treacherous thought of throwing it away catching you off guard. “To waste?” You echoed, your firm, homework-centric tone wavering - and the black-haired boy knew he got you. “Why can’t someone else eat it?”
“I made enough for one extra person,” came his response, accompanied with a convincing grimace.
By now, the world around you was starting to quiet as the masses of students disappeared round corners, leaving behind the three of you and a silence that only seemed to grow louder as the seconds ticked by while you contemplated your dilemma, your gaze occasionally glancing towards the stairwell that headed up to the library and then back at the clock that hung on the nearby wall. Lunch break was about over for the day, and while you didn’t have another class to attend, they certainly did, and time was running out. Still, no matter how much Jamil hated tardiness, this was a rather important matter to settle for Kalim.
Gray eyes slid over to his downtrodden master, who was now busy muttering inaudibly to himself, sandalled feet kicking at the ground. You were a vastly more capable and tolerable companion to have than Kalim, a sight for sore eyes in fact, no matter how much he hated having to admit it. A pleasant conversation, being able to help in the kitchen without starting the next disaster, hot meals back from your home world that he would never dream of cooking; you were like the older sibling Jamil never had. Nothing more than that of course. After all, it would be improper, given how you were already the apple of Kalim’s eye.
Yet for once, it was surprisingly Kalim that made the next move, his hand shooting out grab yours before his thoughts had fully passed through his brain, startling both you and Jamil. "We can do it together!" The white-haired boy blurted out, free hand tugging at the sleeve of your school uniform pitifully, his gold jewelry catching a stray ray of sunlight and reflecting it onto the stone wall behind. “Trein’s homework, I mean. I always have difficulty with it anyway.”
A pause, then Kalim continued. "You'll help me with it?"
“And you could have dinner as well so we don’t have to throw away desserts,” Jamil finished, a grin quirking at his lips.
It was the straw that broke the camel's back, and you caved to the temptation of a sweet treat and the pressure of Kalim's pleading. "Alright, alright. I guess I can come over."
Score one, Jalim thought amusedly. He didn't even think Kalim had it in him.
‎‎
The skies above the Scarabia dorm were littered with stars as you munched away on your dessert, blissfully unaware that it had been specially made specifically for you and only you. A new bangle dangled from your wrist, glimmering in the tired glow of the oil lamps that hung down from the ceiling as you pointed out another error in Kalim’s homework - it was simple, decorated with just a few small cuts of precious stones, and it was all the Asim family’s heir could convince you to accept. Anything in the storeroom that his father had sent with him was open to your choosing, yet you had declined and declined until the two had finally worn you down.
It was clear that to Kalim, all you saw was him, the person, and not his vast wealths; treating him for who he was and not what he had. Refreshing, but at the same time heartwrenching. You were simply waiting to go home after all.
Jamil watched the two of you from a respectable distance for a moment as the two of you laughed over something he couldn’t quite discern, before turning to make the journey to the kitchen, mugs in hand. Despite the earlier surprise, what he had brewing in his mind was a plan that Kalim certainly would never put together himself, but there was no doubt that it was feasible. All he had to figure out first was how much it would take to get Crowley to conveniently be “unable” to find a way home for you - and how much to make sure you never found out.
A low blow, his idea certainly was. And if he suggested it to the Asim heir, the other would agree to that much, but Jamil was certain Kalim would ultimately give in to his desires and make it happen. You wouldn’t be going anywhere far from Kalim if he could help it, not with the glitters of gold that would weigh you down.

„I want to come too!” Whipping his head around, Jimin was suddenly wide awake. The chance of seeing the sleepy state the girl was most likely in sounded just too good to pass up.
Shooting up from his seat, he rushed after his eldest hyung, taking the stairs two at a time. Hearing light snickers in the background. Meanwhile, Yoongi went back to the kitchen.
While waking up the omega did sound pleasing to his ears just as much as anyone else's, he knew that the girl could potentially be very grumpy and just want to go back to bed right away. A sure way to keep her up was a nice, filling meal that would warm her right back up.
He knew how annoying it was to leave the warm sheets on in the cold winter mornings. So he turned on the stove and started heating up the vegetable broth, stirring it occasionally while he prepared her a bit of kimchi fried rice.
He wasn't sure just how sensitive her belly was, and he hoped that the spice wouldn't be too much and wouldn't upset it. Listening to the TV play a documentary about the history of Egypt, he hummed softly to himself.
„I didn't know anyone sleeping for longer than hyung existed.” Teased the youngest, making Hobi burst out in loud laughter. The others chuckled too, agreeing.
„It's normal for omegas to sleep in if they feel safe. It's like a compliment; she feels settled here. That's a really good thing.” answered Namjoon, still typing on his MacBook, smiling at the thought, happy that they finally managed to calm you down a bit.
Standing near the guest room door, the two alphas quieted down. Slowly opening it, they calmly stepped into the dark room. The heater was on, so it felt cosy and warm inside. The guest room was pretty plain but still nicely put together.
The big window has rectangular glass panes with a black metal grid in between with long, heavy fabric curtains that stopped just about five centimetres above the parquet floors. There was a wooden dresser with dark knobs in the left corner of the room, and a big, spacy bed pushed up against the wall with the window. A bedside table had a cream-coloured lamp on it and a glass of water Hobi carried there yesterday evening.
A few plants were littered across the room too, some placed on the ground and others hung up above the window. The pack alpha loved gardening, even if he didn't get around to it too much with how hectic their idol's life often got.
They had a large garden behind the house with a terrace facing it, so they sometimes had a barbecue there too, when the weather allowed it. Namjoon took good care of all the plants there. During the spring to early autumn, he made sure to water them all, and once it got colder, he covered all the plants that were too fragile for the first frost bite.
A short flower placed next to the lamp that grew only to about 11 cm tall, with solid azure petals decorated with azure dots and a light grey central disc. Five small flower blooms grew on alternate sides along the length of the stem. It carried a faint scent that smells like rainy days, cleverly placed to bring peaceful sleep.
It must have worked at least slightly, given that the girl was still long asleep and breathing calmly and slowly. Cuddled up in the heavy duvet, covered with dark grey sheets that Jungkook recently bought, Your face was facing their way, your cheeks rosy with sleep, and your long lashes casting shadows.
Cooing softly, Jin stepped closer to your curled-up body. Just next to your face was the soft, brown hoodie, held close by you. Lightly shaking your shoulder, the older alpha started waking you up, not wanting to startle you.
„Cub.., baby, wake up, come on..” mumbling the words softly, he squatted down so he didn't have to bend so much anymore. Pretty much face-to-face with you, he watched carefully how your eyes fluttered open before closing back up again. Light shone in the room suddenly, the curtains pulled wide apart by Jimin, who stood looking outside for a minute. It was still snowing heavily, and the garden in view was completely covered in the soft, pattering snowflakes that had fallen long before.
Turning to also gaze at the small omega, he smiled, his eyes almost closing up. Giggling softly at how you whined at the sunlight, you curled up into yourself more. Walking back around the bed, he took a seat at the bottom of the mattress, caressing your legs.
When you made no move to wake up fully, the eldest once again softly rubbed your shoulder, cooing at how you hid your face in the jumper instead, softly protesting. You weren't ready to get up yet; why did they keep on bothering you? After so many years of not resting properly, you decided to take back all the time you could have rested but lost due to insomnia.
Pulling the sheets off of your shoulders, you weren't quick enough to roll out of the way before strong hands took a hold of your underarms, pulling you up against wide shoulders. Whining about the lost comfort, your fingers hung up on the shirt the alpha was wearing, your bleary eyes hardly even open. Too tired to kick up a bigger fuss, you just lightly kicked at your legs, earning a soft chuckle in return.
Brushing your fluffy bed hair, the younger alpha sighed out in relief. They were slightly worried that you would start to cry at the loss of the warmth, but you seemed to be just mildly annoyed. Your chin rested up against Jin's collarbone, and you gazed at Jimin while the eldest stood back up with you in his arms. Softly holding your tired body up, he walked with you out of the room, the other alpha following closely, keeping his eyes set on you. He knew the man holding you up would never allow you to drop, so he wasn't too worried, but with how cute and sleepy you looked, he couldn't help but stare.
The calm morning carried on after you were placed on the chair at the kitchen table. Rubbing your eyes with a fist, only to have it pulled away suddenly, you looked up just to meet Yoongi's cat-like eyes.
„Don't do that, kitty; it's not good for you. Here, I've warmed up some soup for you; come on, have some. It's hot still; you need to blow lots and lots, okay? Don't burn yourself, kitten.” handing you a large wooden spoon and a steaming bowl, you nodded slightly before slurping up a bit. Being careful with the heat, you made sure to blow before taking another spoonful.
With the warm broth in your belly and Yoongi watching closely over you, you were soon handed another glass of juice, this time made with oranges. Taking your bowl away for you, your feet brushed up against the floors, only now realising you didn't have any socks on. The rest of your clothes were the same as yesterday; you were glad they didn't change you, letting you be. It would definitely be more uncomfortable.
While you felt a bit awkward, suddenly realising your situation, it felt easy to let up and go with how the pack reacted to you, fully slipping into the dominant second gender they were assigned. Your soft nature just easily fitted right in.
Even though the pack was formed a few years ago and the boys did have a strong bond, that didn't mean they didn't sometimes argue here and there. It was mostly small stuff that resulted in them making up quickly. Still, with how touch starved they were and with how few occasions they actually had to talk with lower-ranking second genders, it was a relief to finally have someone to take care of and be responsible for.
Namjoon was used to taking on all their worries and troubles, but this still felt a lot different, like filling up a hole in their body they didn't know really existed until it was gone.
Omegas were highly appreciated and precious in most packs, with the rarity they brought making them considered even more special. Not all packs could have an omega, and it was common that even when a possible one was found, they just didn't settle in well with the packmates and had to leave.
Placing a small plate before you, the kimchi fried rice smelled delicious. A fried egg placed on top that was already cut up in bite-sized pieces for you, you dug right in. You weren't too hungry anymore, but you still wanted to eat it because of how delicious it seemed.
„Be careful, pup, it could be a bit too spicy for you. Slow down, don't choke." Said Taehyung, who just passed by to fill himself a cup of water. Your eyes didn't stay on him for too long. You were occupied with the food before you, and you intended to keep your focus fully.
The enoki mushrooms made a soft, crunchy sound, and while the food was made with only a small amount of spices, it really did feel just a little too hot for you. Biting into the egg that was salted just enough, you nodded with satisfaction. You only had a few bites before you pushed the plate away from yourself; not only were you full, but it really did burn your tongue quite a bit.
„Are you full already?” Looking at the alpha's face while he crouched down next to you, rubbing your knee in light circles. Meekly nodding, you felt a bit bad leaving so much of leftovers.
„That's okay. You can say anything anytime if anything isn't okay, yea? Do you understand my kitty?" Softly voicing his concerns, you looked into his eyes shortly before you mumbled a yes.
Being met with a gummy smile wasn't really what you were expecting for not finishing a meal, but it felt nice. You never met a pack that was so compliant with your needs and wants and patient like they were.
Pulling the chair out next to you, he slid the plate to himself, starting to eat your leftovers. He didn't bother to change the cutlery either; already used to sharing pretty much everything with his packmates.
You sat next to him still, your eyes occasionally closing in tiredness. The kitchen was to your left; your back turned to the living room, where some of the alphas were. Sometimes when they walked by, they left an occasional rub and pat on your head, greeting you sweetly and asking about your sleep.
Yoongi picked up a piece of egg, the part he considered the tastiest—the fried-up corners dipped in the still runny egg yolk—and with a hand underneath, careful not to burn you, he blew on it softly before encouraging you to eat it yourself. Quickly convinced, you chewed calmly.
„There you go, baby, it's tasty right? You want some more?” Cooing at how your eyes watched him closely, he took another bite-sized piece and held it up for you. „Of course you can, here kitty, slowly."
Watching your reaction, the alpha in him felt good about providing for you. It was something greatly satisfying for him—for all of them, to see you trust them enough to let them feed you, hold you, and keep you around. They valued the trust you allowed them greatly, keeping you close and safe at all times.
Once he finished your leftovers and fed you the last bite, he stood up to clean up, taking your now empty juice glass to put in the dishwasher for you. Getting up, you pattered towards the others, hesitating a little, not sure where to sit or even if you should sit with them. You had no idea what was going to happen in the future.
It was the pack alpha who noticed you the earliest, turning in his seat and smiling widely with his dimples showing. He had a pair of glasses on that were yellow-tinted with black top framing and bare wires at the bottom. His longer black hair styled into a shorter mullet-like hairstyle, with a few hair strands touching his forehead, made him look put together. The pyjamas he kept on earlier in the day were also exchanged for an earth-green crew neck and baggy jeans.
„Come here, pup, sit here. Come on, the movie is starting soon; hurry!” lightly ushering you along, your feet moved before you knew it, and soon you were resting on the couch between him and Jin.
The eldest ran his fingers through your hair, taming it down further. Sitting with your knees pulled up to your chest, you watched the screen before you. Some of the alphas weren't there at the moment, but they did walk by from time to time. When Jimin took a seat next to the eldest man, he gave you the brown jumper again; you must have left it back upstairs in your room, and he came to carry it downstairs for you.
Understanding that you still weren't truly out of your anxious and worried headspace, they were still trying to keep you as calm as possible. Having you cry like you did yesterday felt like torture to them, making them want to prevent it from ever happening again.
„Here sweetheart. Keep it close now.” He muttered while you held it to your nose, breathing in. It still smelled really clean, with only the slightest hint of vanilla and citrus. It felt calming.
The movie captivated your attention eventually, only slightly boring in the beginning. Whenever you started to fidget and move around more, they were quick to soothe you. Joon always easily pointed out something interesting in the movie, like the cleverly done product placement, a book he knew the author of, or the paintings hung up in the background of the shot.
„It's Cézanne; he painted that one.” You pointed your finger at the screen where a main character was currently talking about the prodigy he held. There, behind him in a simple brown frame, was a painting of tulips on a vase, their bright red blossoms contrasting with the forest green of the glass jar. While the movie had an interesting story, you were more focused on the small details regarding his so-called prodigy.
„Really? Wah,” said Jin from next to you. The four alphas sitting with you focused on the screen just until the painting was cut off from the screen.
„What a smart cub you are, baby. It is his; you are right.” I approved the pack alpha, smiling proudly at you. You felt your cheeks heating up slightly, so you were quick to look away. Mumbling about how it's not that big of a deal, you squeezed your palms around the fabric you held.
In the corner of your eye, Taehyung typed the artist's name into Google, quickly finding the tulip painting he made.
„Oh, he was good; look, Hyung." Showing the screen to the alpha next to him, Jimin leaned in as the other man scrolled through the photos of his other art.
„He was a French, a postimpressionist artist, so the photos don't really show what he made well. The brush strokes are what you are meant to focus on, and with how flat it looks on the screen, it doesn't really work. He was a big inspiration for the cubism movement later on too,” you said, while looking over Jin at Tae's phone.
„You know a lot; do you like art?” asks Jin while softly petting your hair. You smiled, almost laughing at the question; it felt a bit silly to you.
„Yea, I study at an art school. I've been making art since I was really young.”
That caught their attention for sure, with how quickly their eyes turned to your face. In the morning, they collectively decided that it would be best for them not to ask why there was no pack alpha huffing at their entrance doors yet; after all, if you had a pack and didn't spend the night there, especially without discussing it before hand, it was going to make them worry for sure.
At least they knew that they would worry for sure.
But still, nobody knocked. They didn't see you pull out your phone even once, and they weren't sure if you even had it on you. You didn't smell like any other alpha or beta thought, so they were left in questions.
Whatever caused you to get so unsettled yesterday concerned them, but they didn't want to push you to tell them. If you wanted to open up to them, you would.
„Really? Which college?”
„Korea National University of Arts.” You answered the pack alpha quietly.
„Oh, I heard of that one; do you like it there, cub?” Tae shot up, looking at your face closely. Nodding hesitantly, you thought about your answer for a few seconds.
„Yea, it's okay.” You smiled softly. You were glad you could pursue the arts, and while not all your classmates were nice and some teachers gave you a hard time sometimes, you were able to learn a lot. And that was what mattered.
„What's your major?”
„I study fine arts.” You said, looking up at Jimin. Holding the jumper closer, they sensed you had enough questions for now and focused back on the movie. Even when it finished, the five of you stayed huddled close together on the couch, only getting up a few times and coming back again soon.
With a nagging question on your mind, it was complicated for you to focus on the cooking competition, and so you carefully leaned closer to Namjoon, lightly touching his forearm. Looking over at you quickly, he didn't take long to notice something was on your mind that made you anxious, and so without little to no hesitance, he pulled you to his side.
Leaning over slightly so he was face-to-face with you, the soft smell of flowers blooming covered the air around you. Calming you just the slightest bit, his hands held your shoulder and side, rubbing faint circles with his palm.
„What is it, pup? You can tell Alpha; don't worry, okay? What's wrong, little baby?” With the sweet words, you almost burst into tears once again, surprised at how sensitive you still were after yesterday. You felt startled.
Looking down, and when you didn't answer for a few seconds, the pack alpha pulled you to his chest once again. With your hip resting against his thigh, he held your other one, softly patting it in a rhythmic pattern. His other hand pulled your face close to his chest, where it was easy to listen to his heartbeat.
„Hm? Poor cub, you keep on getting stressed out over and over again; there isn't much time to rest up, is there? It's okay, I got you now." Cradling you up against his chest, he allowed you to sniffle for a few minutes and didn't push you to talk. With your legs getting carresed and placed over the eldest's lap, you eventually asked the thing that had worried you since yesterday dinner.
„When do I have to leave?” You mumbled, a whimper leaving your throat. It was quiet for a beat or two, the pack alpha just holding you close.
„That's up to you, cub. You are free to leave whenever you feel like it. You can stay too if that's what you want; we wouldn't mind.” answered Namjoon calmly, but you weren't fooled. His heartbeat fastened up for a bit there, and you noticed.
„I would like to stay please..”

Galentine's day:
Requested by @gratefulformatcha
A/N: For those who don’t know Layla is Y/N’s best friend, who she lives with.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The smell of cupcakes filled the air, commemorating the start of your and Layla's annual Galentines Day tradition.
Layla was setting up the air mattress in the living room, making tons of noise as she struggled to move the coffee table out of the way.
“Wait one second and I’ll help you!” You giggled at her impatience as you jogged over to her. You helped move the coffee table aside, plugging the air mattress in to make it more sturdy.
“Should I bring my fuzzy blanket too?” She didn’t wait for you to respond, knowing it was more of a rhetorical question.
You smiled, taking in this moment with your best friend before your phone rang. You quickly took it out of your pant pocket, seeing the adorable photo of you two cover your screen. Jack was kissing you on the cheek, and it was your favorite photo thus far.
Layla shuffled back into the living room, throwing her blanket on the air mattress. “Is that Jack? Tell him no boys allowed!” She laughed, flopping down on the air mattress as she started looking through rom-coms.
“Hey baby” you stifled a giggle as Layla made overdramatic faces at you, gagging too.
“I miss you” he groaned, it had been 48 hours since you had seen him but to him, it felt like a lifetime.
“Nobody told you to be gone yesterday” you laughed, putting on an oven mitt to get the cupcakes from the oven and putting him on speaker.
“You’re on speaker! So don’t say anything stupid” you warned, knowing that would likely encourage him instead of doing the opposite.
“Layla! Let me see my girl!” He shouted earning a laugh from Urban in the distant background.
“She’s my girl today!” Layla poked at him knowing it was absolutely killing him to not be around.
“When we live together I’m going to crash your girl valentines!” He threatened, knowing that likely next year you’d be living together.
“It’s called Galentine's Day baby” You giggled and he did too as you switched him off speaker and held the phone up to your ear.
“I’ll call you later handsome, okay? I love you” You hung up and started to take the other snacks you had in the kitchen.
“Do you want him to come?” Layla felt a wave of guilt wash over her, knowing how much Jack meant to you and knowing that he had a busy schedule.
“No? This is our time” You forced a smile, you missed him but wanted to prioritize your friendship too.
Layla put on your favorite rom-com, and opened the Doritos bag, pouring some on a plate for you.
You were halfway through the movie when you remembered you had clay face masks to apply, Layla took the opportunity to send Jack a quick text from your phone, inviting him over, hiding it back under the blanket as you came to get her.
“Do you want to do the matcha, honey and oatmeal or eucalyptus?” You held all three jars in your hand as she picked the matcha one.
You both were sitting in the living room, clay masks on, pajamas, and food crumbs on your clothes when you heard a familiar knock at the front door.
“Did you order pizza?” You looked over at her, brows furrowed questioning who would be knocking at this time of night.
When you opened the door, your heart did flips. His eyes were extremely blue today, more than normal. His freckles more prominent and his curls more defined.
A feeling of excitement overcame you, but you were also confused and embarrassed at the thick layer of clay on your face.
“Why do you look so surprised to see me?” Jack turned his head, looking over your shoulder at Layla.
You looked down and realized he was holding a bag full of Layla's favorite soda, turning to her with your mouth wide open.
“Did you steal my phone and tell him to come over?”
Jack was bright red in the face, embarrassed that he rushed right over. He had to have shown up in ten maybe fifteen minutes- tops.
“You’re welcome! Now bring me my soda! I’m making floats while you two make out or whatever” She held her hands out to him as Jack walked inside your apartment.
“You’re unbelievable” he laughed, handing her the bag.
“I think you mean, thank you?” Layla giggled as you and Jack embraced one another, hugging as you rocked back and forth.
“Can I do one of those too?” He pointed to your face, and you nodded, taking him to the bathroom to put one on him.
He leaned against your counter as you dampened his cheeks with a wet washcloth, prepping his skin.
“I’m really glad you came” you hummed, brushing his curls away from his face with your hand.
“I’m really glad Layla invited me” he smirked, making the two of you break out into giggles.
Layla smiled to herself as she scooped two heaping scoops of vanilla bean ice cream into a bowl, happy that her best friend was finally in love with someone who deserved her.

you were in love, until you weren't anymore. or maybe you still were, but chose to learn not to be just to heal from all that meant falling in love with him⠀★⠀2.7k words
Tumblr media
content: tbh idk what is this,, i don't even know how to categorize it, i felt kinda sad and started writing, and i thought on sharing it here. plot,, the point of view of hyunjin after your break up. i would say angst but at the end it kind of good. reader and hyunjin don't end up together tho. warnings,, think of this as a beautiful relationship that turned slightly toxic, hyunjin was very very whipped for reader, the format is like a letter to you he never sent. note,, i wrote this listening to hannah bahng's cover of memories by conan gray, one of my favourite audios in the world.

─── Excerpts from Hwang Hyunjin's diary over a year after the break up.
September 6th
Yesterday I walked by that coffee shop you liked to go to so much, at the end of the street where you used to work, the one with the navy couches and old photographs hanging on the wall. It's now closed. On the notice taped to the door it says that it is for sale, that they were very sorry but they decided to go out of business because they could no longer afford the expense, to call the phone number listed there if you were interested in buying it. And I did. Call, I mean. I had that urge to buy it, because it reminded me of you, because I knew you would like it. I listened for two rings and then hung up. The couches were purple. I saw it, even though the glass was full of dust, and I don't know anymore if they had been navy from the beginning or you had convinced me of it, but at that moment I saw them purple, and the magic was gone again. I guess it doesn't matter now. It had been a while since I had been here, maybe they had to change them. To see if they could attract more customers, as you always joked with the owner. That's why you liked the place, right? It was quiet. Peaceful. You could barely hear the music in the background or the murmur of the street, and as much as you adored their coffee, we both knew it was doomed to have an end. Like us, I suppose. You were always drawn to lost causes.
That's why I called you. I think you had blocked my contact, but it didn't hurt to try. I thought about everything we had shared. On my way to the apartment I live in now I bought those noodles you liked so much, and the ice cream we had every time there was something to celebrate. The TV was playing one of those movies from the 2000s that we watched over and over again on Friday nights, even though we had already seen them, just because I loved that look on your face you had when you did something you were apssionate about. It seemed like a hoax. For a moment it seemed as if I could touch you, as if by reaching across the fabric of the couch you were going to be there, on the other end, waiting for me to finish dinner so you could snuggle up next to me. I guess it was one of those days, wasn't it? Those when you stop pretending that everything is okay, even though nothing was wrong, and let sadness win you over.
I don't actually think I'm sad, though. Not really. Just… nostalgic. I miss what we had. I miss you. Not in the unhealthy way I did in the beginning, when we decided to split up and I instantly regretted it. It's more of a warm, bittersweet memory that creeps up on me from time to time. Your smile, so beautiful and bright, how soft your hair was when you rested your head on my lap and I couldn't stop caressing it, how your hand felt against mine as we entwined them, the hurried way your heart pounded under my lips as I kissed your skin, how I felt your chest vibrate as I fell asleep on top you in the middle of a conversation… Now that I think about it, I think I've forgotten your voice. The temptation to search for old audios is too strong, but I'm afraid to find out what I would really feel if I get to hear you.
I have seen pictures. I have too many, so looking for them was not a big problem. I keep them on that hard drive you gave me when you got tired of watching me stress out because I thought I had lost flash drives that had never left my desk. In it is my favorite folder, the one with all the captured moments that reflected that side of you that you didn't let anyone else see. The ones I took of you when you didn't realize it, with your hair disheveled on our bed, your bare back contrasting with the sheets, still asleep; or playing with Kkami in the park, running next to her, with your scarf tangling in the wind and your smile brighter than ever. Those for which you did pose, with amused expressions and seductive glances, with our friends and in the intimacy of our home, those you approved of after I showed them to you, acknowledging with an embarrassed blush that you did look pretty, and also those you couldn't even see, your mind betraying you by making you see so many flaws that you thought you were drowning in them, so many defects I was unable to see.
It's the first time that the sight of you didn't make my heart tear apart. Each new file I opened was a memory that I could bring back to life, at least for a few minutes, moments that I treasured fondly, and that finally made me smile. Can you believe it? Me, who so many times left voice messages begging you to come back, who had to stay at home for weeks after breaking up because visualizing a life without you by my side made me want to die, the person who every time they saw something that reminded them of you would burst into tears, feeling the loss of your presence like the shadow of death, was finally enjoying those memories that included you.
You'll be happy to know that I'm starting to draw again too. I had thrown away all my art supplies when I moved, and I have all my paintings locked away, but the other day I stopped by the store I used to go to and bought a sketchbook. I didn't intend to do anything with it, I just wanted to run my hand over the pages again, just like I used to do before starting a new project. As soon as Felix found out, he bought me new watercolors and pencils. You know how he is, the first to cheer every time something good happens to you. He celebrates your victories as if they were his own. I guess that's what this is, isn't it? A victory. I've managed to win against the ghost of our past, and my reward is a nice charcoal sketch of a tulip. It's not my best work, but for the moment it works for me. Little by little, with training wheels.
November 24th
I would like to know how you are doing. Changbin hyung told me that you finally moved in, just like me. I guess every little corner of the apartment reminded you of me. I wouldn't have lasted long there either. You hardly talk to the rest of the guys, and it makes me wonder if you were really happy with me. When I met you you had your own group of friends, but you stopped talking to them to the point that all we knew were my friends, and each other. That was probably one of the reasons you encouraged me to break up. It wasn't healthy, was it? I find it pathetic that I realize it now, so many months later, although it was pathetic even then, with how desperately in love I was with you. I tend to get so lost in my feelings that I forget everything else. Sometimes, "everything else" is often more important than what's going on in my head, and in my heart, because in the end, thoughts are just thoughts. I wonder if Changbin hyung would tell me if you were having a hard time. You know that after what we went through together, I would come in an instant if you called me. Some things don't change. You can separate us, but you can't ignore what once existed. And I like to think you feel the same way.
I know you have a boyfriend. I've seen you around town, walking hand in hand, just like we used to do. I thought about waving, approaching you and introducing myself to the lucky man who can call you his, but cowardice gets the better of me. I don't want to make a fool of myself. You've always been sharp with words, and the last time we met was humiliating enough. I'm not talking about the last time we spoke, but when we met. That afternoon when Chan accompanied me to collect the boxes that were left in what had been our home, my name written in that chaotic handwriting you have, set aside in the entryway. We looked at each other in silence when you opened the door, and I never knew how I had the strength not to burst into tears. What I wanted most of all was to take refuge in your arms and for you to tell me that everything was going to be all right. Did you feel it? That pain? You always noticed it at first, it was almost unnatural the way my chest began to open with grief, as if my own heart was crying tears of blood.
You felt it too, I'm sure. That's why you looked away. That's why you didn't open your mouth except to wish me well. I remember thinking that it wasn't fair that it was going to end like this, that I didn't understand why it had to end at all. We were doing great. True, we argued, as all couples do, and not even that often, or that we were somewhat possessive of each other. But it was okay, wasn't it? It meant that I cared about you. That you loved me. That we would rather be with each other than with anyone else. But you looked away, and I shut my mouth, and I didn't have time to memorize you before I left. Even after calling you for days, when you finally picked up the phone and begged me to stop, even then I couldn't catch the exact tone of the words you had used to keep them in my memory forever. And now you're gone, and I'd like to think I don't care as much as I used to, but sometimes a person's absence is more present than the people you have sitting next to you. And it hurts more than the worst wound, because you crave something you can't have.
I guess we were destined to end up together and end up apart. It was impossible for us not to have fallen in love when you approached me in that library, with the book I was looking for in your hand, just as we were bound to untangle ourselves after a while, having to suffer through the process of accepting that everything we had built was falling apart. We both knew it, and came to accept it in the haze of those who have just found their soulmate, but only you were smart enough to see it coming and protect yourself, leaving me as the only victim. And worst of all, I know that had never been your intention, that you would never have hurt me on purpose. But I was doing it to you, and you decided to be selfish, pushing me away so you could move on. And after all I can't hate you, I can't even stop loving you, because you became so blended with my soul that removing you would be like taking away an essential part of what makes me being me.
That's my problem, isn't it? I live it all so intensely… It's exhausting. When someone loses the person they thought was going to be the one, they usually console themselves with the thought that they weren't the one. But I can't indulge myself, I don't deserve that consolation, because we were meant to be. Maybe not to last a lifetime, but for the little bit we got to share. I have had to say goodbye to you, to see you become a stranger, but the people we were when we were together are still alive, in some space of our memory, like a story written by both of us, one in which we each have our favorite chapters, and to which we know we can come back whenever we want, to remember each other. I know that at some point in my future I will be able to open that book and read any page and it will no longer hurt, that I will savor every word with a smile on my lips, the smile of someone who knows that while it lasted, I made the most of every single second. And I know that future is closer than far away.
January 15st
I have stopped counting the days since we broke up. I feel like I'm getting better, I know I am. Yesterday I went out with Seungmin and Jeongin for a walk, and I took my old camera with me, after so long. My hands no longer shake when I hold it. They started goofing around, and playing among the trees in the park with Kkami, and it didn't hurt me to say that was something you used to do. I told it as an offhand comment, as if I were telling them about what I had eaten the day before. Now you are just another memory in my mind, floating among the gray matter of moments in my life. You no longer hurt, you no longer harm.
On the way to the dance studio last week, the driver drove past that coffee shop. I don't know if you'll have time to go now that you're so busy with your new life, and anyway I guess coffee doesn't suit you as well as it used to, but someone bought it. And it's still a coffee shop. I went today morning, and I felt better than I have in a long time. The new owners have done an awesome job, and business is running smoothly. In the hour and a half I sat at one of the tables in the back, more customers came in than I've seen in all the years we've been together. The iced americano is delicious, and the atmosphere relaxes me enough to doodle in the margins of my lyrics notebook.
I feel attached to this place, somehow. You found us, and made us feel special. During the time we enjoyed your company, and your trust and love, we were fully happy. When you left us, we had a terrible time, letting our inner selves shut down, refusing affection or help. But now we are doing well. We've gotten over that rough patch, we try to look out for ourselves, we smile at life. And the couches are maroon. I asked the barista, who is one of the people who came up with the new design. I didn't want to find out what the original color had been, that will be something I'll never get to know, I want to give you the benefit of the doubt. It was fun when we would go and spend minutes arguing about the exact shade. But now they're maroon. And I like that color.
I was in love with you. I know you heard me say it that night I came home drunk, when I chose to pretend you were asleep and told you how you truly made me feel. I didn't fall in love with you, I ran to you knowing full well that I was going to love you with all my being, full of devotion and ready to end up devastated by you, but I guess it wasn't enough. Now that I have slowly learned to forget you I know that in all possible scenarios we would have ended up the same way. We were so obsessed with each other that we didn't realize we were consuming each other, but that's okay. Not everything is timeless, nothing lasts forever. The important thing is not to regret your memories, and I don't regret a single moment by your side.

snip: you keep sukuna's favorite after workout drink in your fridge. and no, you don't frequent that store. sukuna looks at you like you hung the moon and painted the sky yourself when you're either on the brink of death or not paying attention (it's only with his eyes, though. he's a certified rbf). the two of you have been hooking up for over a year with little conversation outside of snarky comments and emojis he doesn't get.
and he sometimes takes care of you when you're sick for five hours only.
warnings: suggestive language, sukuna being a parallel of this guy i used to hookup with who was srsly emotionally constipated and really milked my daddy issues, reader being dumb (lol me), probably a lot of run on sentences and weird descriptions but i am not srry ab it, no Y/N here, a lot of parentheses for some reason
authors note: omg hey. i have this a03 and i thought i'd put a tumblr to pair it together cuz i had an old tumblr but i was kinda done w her (may she rest in peace!) anywayyy my name is lillie, hi again. hope u enjoy this!! luv me some sukuna who reminds me of all my bad flings.

Since when did you get sick like this?
This time, not that time you lied to your boss, you have an actual stomach bug. Stomach thing. Food poisoning from bad sushi. You don't know.
What you do know, however, is that everything smells bad, you can’t stomach anything other than a handful of saltine crackers. You couldn’t even finish your coffee yesterday morning; you’re just coming down from a fever. Everything is hot and cold, nothing feels right on your skin. Noises are too loud, but the silence is making your ears bleed.
Curled up into the sheets, you shiver. It rocks over you, feeling cold despite your body burning off whatever infection is brewing in your gut. Your skin feels crusty yet damp, scalp itchy and pulled back into two haphazard buns. Stray strands lay over your forehead that twinkles with cold sweat.
Vampire Diaries plays in the background, volume loud enough so you can hear where you’re at within the series but quiet enough to give you grace if you wish to take another four hour nap. You don’t even want to get on your phone, ignoring the occasional, silent buzzes and flashing light that draw your eyes away from the fuzz of your blanket.
Time passes in a druken haze, not knowing whether you slept or not, not feeling entirely there at all. You fail to count the amount of times you got up to throw up or sit on the toilet, thankful the walls are snug enough to rest your head on the wall of it to contemplate if it’s worth passing out before you gather your wits and crawl back into bed.
There’s a rustle in your sheets, a distant sound of intro music for the vampire show.
“You still watchin’ this shit?” A gruff voice sounds from above you.
Your brows furrow in your sleepy haze- you don’t have energy to fight an intruder, pulling the sheets over your head that throbs from lack of everything. Horribly big hands paw at the clothed dip in your waist. And you let out a mixture of a whine and huff at the realization that your little fling (if you could even call it that) picked a horrible day to play.
“Sukuna,” You murmur, drawing the blankets higher above the crown of your head before he has a chance to yank it down and see your very unprepared self, “Not a good time.”
Sukuna, an occasional fuck and lackluster addition to your friend group, scoffs a laugh, muttering something about you really being a freak, something about thanking your dad for giving you all these issues that only he can handle as he gropes the flesh of your ass.
And it would feel so lovely if you weren’t on the brink of death.
“Eggroll. All the eggrolls.”
He groans, lifting his hand away from you in agreement to the safe word (because that one time when the two of you didn't have one and you reacted that way actually scared the shit out of him).
“I’m sick.” You add quietly, urging your body to morph into a tighter ball. If Sukuna were his younger brother, or his younger brother’s friend, you’d ask either of them to cover you with another blanket. Or to refill your water bottle. Maybe even run to the store down the road and grab you some soup. But this is Sukuna, and-
There’s a harsh tug at the blanket covering your head, and you try to weakly grip the fabric in place.
“That’s why you didn’t answer my text? ‘Cause you’re all disgusting and shit?” He questions, giving one more quick tug to reveal your messy hair, the tint to the apples of your cheeks. The way his gaze feels makes the very top of your gut churn, and you scrunch your face as you decide whether or not you need to puke again.
“Mhm.” You nod, begging for the fabric back with a soft tug. Sukuna relents, snorting as you cover your head back up.
His body weight makes your bed frame squeak as he repositions himself to slouch next to you, and you peer at him through the crack of the blanket. He pulls out his phone, typing on it lazily. Through your bubbling stomach, confusion festers simply because he isn’t moving.
“Thought you not replying was you trying to be cute ’n shit.” A hand makes its way onto your lower back, the weight of it making your eyes bulge in silent surprise. With all your strength, you shake your head and whisper a soft sorry. He tuts, like all weirdly immature but mature, rude but nice and confusing older brother types do, dismissing your apology with a little pat on your back.
Another pat, and you’re snuggling into the blankets and letting your eyes close, mapping the way his hand feels and ignoring the way your stomach cramps. You hear the distant sound of a picture being taken, only being able to mutter a humiliated groan. There's a vibration where your phone is, and you know that the group chat has been notified of your predicament.
“You eat? Take a shower?” Sukuna asks, mastering the art of making his concern dismissive. The silence on your end answers everything he needs to know, humming in acknowledgement. You’re a stubborn little shit who likes to suffer in isolation, he’ll give you that.
He synchs a basketball game to your TV, adamantly rotating between patting and rubbing your back until you’re snoring and curled up next to his lap.
When you wake up, you’re still cold, still sweating off your fever. You peers towards the bed, noticing the empty spot but the basketball game still softly playing on the screen. For a moment, you let your head slump back into the mattress before you force yourself out of bed to pee.
The weight in your body is too overwhelming to be horrified by your appearance when you emerge to make your way into a shared bathroom with your roommate. They’re all gone for work, and you don’t have the wit to ask where Sukuna got the time off to come fuck you in the middle of the day. Or why he was looking at your location.
“I forgot how much of a bitchy face you have.” He comments, voice a note softer than you would usually hear, as you pad towards the bathroom. You grumble a quiet fuck you, slinking towards the bathroom.
You fix your hair to the best of your ability- standing up too long made you throw up. Your abdomen feels like it’s gone to three HIT classes in a row, hardly having any reserves to help you stand and brush your teeth. So you do it knelt over the bathtub, making sure to lock the door to make sure that stupid person of interest doesn’t see you so weak.
Rinsing your mouth out knelt over a tub is a new low, spitting the globs of toothpaste and water into the drain before you turn it off and brace the sides of the tub to stand and wander back out into the kitchen. Your bones feel like brittle, a bowling ball in your stomach forcing your posture to look horrifyingly old. It's been two days but you've aged thirty years.
“Hi.” You greet weakly, rubbing your eyes before putting your arms back down as swiftly as you can. When was the last time you shaved?
Sukuna nods back, digging through a plastic bag. It’s only a few seconds before you’re sitting on the floor. The tile makes you twitch, and you wonder how you’re going to get up without looking like a hobbling mess. Maybe you’ll just crawl.
Soup and some electrolyte drinks are set out on the counter- along with your favorite candy. For a moment, your brows furrow, and then your lip wobbles in realization.
“Did you get that for me?”
“Can’t fuck you if you’re all pitiful and disgusting.” Is all he says, but his lip twitches into a bewitching smirk as your eyes well with tears and you sniffle out a sweet thank you. "Of course you’d cry over stupid shit like this." He adds, shaking his head.
His shoes click bluntly against the floor, and he peers down at you with that devastatingly handsome, horribly mean face.
“You could just go fuck another girl.” You murmur sappily, lip jutting into a pout. And it’s true, you know it. The two of you have established that. He throws it in your face, too, when you tell him you’re busy or you’re too sleepy. Or when you simply don’t want to deal with his attitude.
His laugh tickles your heart, staring at him with wide, watery eyes as he bends down and gathers you into his arms. You squirm, or try to, holding any pride and ego close to your chest like a rabid animal as you let out a faux uncomfortable noise. There’s a familiar tap to your ass that urges you to stop, and you sink into Sukuna’s terrifyingly comfortable embrace as he carries you back to your room. The two of you have hardly cuddled before, the absolute most being him begrudgingly letting you cling onto him after one particularly rough night- only to shove you off five minutes later, giving you a pat on the head as if to say good job, thanks for the head, before leaving.
So this is new, awkward, when your semi friend with semi benefits sets you down with the upmost genteel fashion and retreats back into the kitchen. He comes back with an armful of products moments later. Soup, your favorite cup filled with mystery get well liquid, a straw and a big spoon.
“I don’t like big spoons.”
“That’s too fuckin’ bad because that’s what I got- stop pouting like that, it's disgusting.”
Sukuna sets everything down and defiantly does not grab another spoon for you. You make a noise in the back of your throat when he reaches over and urges you to sit up with a silent look that you’re expected to figure out. He lets you maneuver a pillow behind your back, lets you curl a blanket around your body and change the TV back to Vampire Diaries- he does not let you feed yourself.
When you reach for the bowl of soup (your favorite- chicken and stars), he uses only a percentage of his strength to swat your hand away, giving you another demand to stop sulking like a little kid before he’s crawling (crawling!) across the bed. Bowl of soup and too big of spoon in hand, he sits across from and in front of your view from the show.
He leans forward in a sort of endearing way, brows furrowed in a certain concentration as he scoops the perfect spoonful of soup and stars, holding it to your mouth. And he watches when you open your mouth with furrowed brows, lips closing around the dipped metal so that nothing drips down your chin. The broth warms your mouth, your stomach in an instant, making your face relax and your back slump into the pillow that supports you.
There’s a prickle of humiliation on the apples of your cheeks, something Sukuna would likely make fun of if you weren’t half asleep by the time he finishes spoon feeding you. And yea, there was one singular instance of him swiping away fallen liquid away with his thumb. And yea, you’re going to remember that forever. And most definitely are you going to internalize this as something more between the two of you than just friends who fuck (friend being a huge overstatement).
“I don’t like you.” You find yourself murmuring as Sukuna thrusts your clunky, metal, pink water bottle in your face. Obediently, as you always are, you sip at the liquid, swallowing down any grimace as he stares right at you while you swallow.
“You’re not my favorite, either.” He grunts, picking the cup up as soon as you set it down and representing it to you with a face.
“I’m at least second to your video game console.” Your grumble with pursed lips, taking another measly sip. When Sukuna raises his brows, you take a few more.
“Third. Second is pot. And it’s a PS4- fucking nerd.”
The part of your stomach that isn’t cramping to shit flutters, your fever probably rises, and you smile to yourself as you take a big gulp of the electrolyte solution. You swallow before he says the softest atta girl and takes the cup to set it back down.
Sukuna helps you shuffle under three big blankets, gives you your phone and goes to wash the soup bowl. You text Satoru with sick enthusiasm, to which he reiterates it in your (other) group chat where everyone just starts sending silly fangirlish memes. Shoko isn’t phased, Suguru isn’t pleased, either. But there’s an icky smile on your face, the thought of when it’ll end and Sukuna will go back to, well, Sukuna, gnawing at the back of your throat.
But you’ll pretend for today, like you do everyday.
“Are you leaving?” You ask when he comes back into the room, question answered when the bed dips once more.
He grunts a no, to shut up and sleep as he synchs up another sports game. You don’t mind, turning your head so you’re facing him. His back rests against a pillow with a floral case, one of your weighted stuffed animals squished between the weight of his back and the metal bed frame.
You stare with lidded eyes and hot cheeks, tracing the musculature of his shoulders and the sharpness of his face in the same pattern you do after he’s done making you quiver and shake and cry. The plush of the blanket is a perfect excuse for the sheen of sweat on your face, your stomach still molten lava and convulsing.
But it’s just a little more than a dull ache with Sukuna here, bored face and all.
For a moment, before you fall asleep for a third time today, you feel his fingertips, hard and gruff and soft, brush against your cheek, your chapped lips. You’re too tired to hide or quip at him in the static-like fashion that makes him laugh.
You swear you see his lips twitch when you hum affectionately. There’s a text waiting for your friends, a mental scoreboard to update. Smile number two. Four days apart. From holding a sparkler and ogling at it like a child at Satoru’s New Year’s Eve party to laying in bed sick, purring like a cat as he pets you.
“Stop looking like you’re going to die.” He all but requests, covering your face with a sliver of the blanket and looking back at the game. Grabbing the remote, he turns the volume up a few more notches to ignore your itty bitty, very sleepy laugh.
Seconds away from sleep, Sukuna uncovers it- you. His lingering gaze tingles your nose, all the way down to the tips of your toes. Your infatuation with him might as well be the cure to cancer from the faintest spark of energy it gave you.
He’s not there when you wake up. It could have been a fever dream for all you know if it wasn’t for the refilled hydro flask and oddly neat note scribbled for you to ‘drink the fuck up’ on one of your Sanrio sticky notes. There's a brief look of horror on your face knowing that he looked through your drawers to find one.
You drink it all and take a gruesome looking picture, sending it to him with a silly caption- your way of saying thank you. Sukuna doesn’t respond, but the read receipts are on. And he doesn’t talk to you for awhile, as if he curates the perfect way to make you stay by letting the bubbling like for him simmer into nothing, only for it to come back in full force when asks if you’re awake three Thursdays later. He asks if he can still use the key you gave him to come by after the gym to shower because his little brother and friends are over and he doesn’t want to hear them blubber while they figure out their alcohol tolerance (or lack thereof).
A pearly, well built increment of yourself hopes it’s so he’ll check up on you, too, after he slinks into your room and fucks you just the way he likes- because he knows you like it, too.
And you say yes, like you always do. Tell him about this new body wash you got that he can use, that you just so happened to get his favorite drink from the store he get his protein powder and supplements from when you went grocery shopping.
you don’t even like that store lmfao
found a new prebiotic there! Saw it on Pintrest
sure
Sukuna is not immune to exploiting your obvious cartwheels to please him. He’ll never say thank you, and you won’t ever ask him to. You do it for all your friends, you tell him. Shoko’s toothbrush brand is in your bathroom cabinet when she sleeps over. Satoru’s moisturizer and favorite tooth-rotting snacks. Suguru’s blanket because he gets cold at movie nights. But Sukuna knows he could have whatever he asked for within the hour.
He’ll never address that he took care of you when you were sick. Both times. Or that there's a packet of your favorite gum in the console of his car. And he'd rather be dead than you, shit, anyone, find out that there's a hidden album of little you's in his phone.
i’m just a good friend  *ੈ♡⸝⸝🪐༘⋆
we’re not friends.
It doesn’t hurt your feelings. Because you know he’s emotionally constipated, that no one’s ever really cared. Except Yuji, but little brothers always care. That whatever affection and consideration thrown his way will be burnt to a crisp, that he’ll only ever look at you like you hung the stars when no one’s looking, or only think about you at night when the weed isn’t helping him sleep.
uh huh, we sure aren’t. see you later! make sure to stretch before you lift!!
stop texting me, it's fucking up my music

"Uhh Jack? Why are you whispering?"
"Because I can't let wifey hear me. I don't know how much longer I can take." Jack answered while looking around hoping that you couldn't hear him.
It seemed as if all of your senses had heightened since you became pregnant.
"What do you mean?" 2fo asked while looking at him confused.
He was currently on a facetime call with PG hiding in one of the guest room closets hoping that this would be the last place you looked.
"Are you….? Are you in a closet?!" Shloob asked while looking at the background surrounding him.
"I'm afraid my dick is going to fall off."
"Uhh I think you need to seek medical attention if that's the case." Quiiso piped up.
"Oh. I know what this is." Urban said while trying not to laugh.
"Urb, this shit is NOT funny." Jack scolded him while trying not to hit his head on anything in the cramped space.
"Someone needs to fill us in already!"
"Jack is hiding because his wife's hormones are running rampant and she keeps asking him to dick her down. Pretty sure she asked him 12 times yesterday." Urban confessed as Jack simply hung his head.
"GOT DAMN!"
"DID YOU JUST SAY TWELVE?"
"I guarantee you not about to make any more children after this if this is the result."
"Damn, you just might need medical attention after all that."
"I never thought I'd see the day where Jack is not running to get his dick wet from Y/N."
"First time for everything I guess."
"Yall have to help me escape the house without her knowing. I need a break. The only time I've left is to get her food."
"How in the world are we supposed to do that!? If she doesn't see you for 20 seconds she starts screaming her head off for you and I know because I witnessed it!" Urban added while drinking his iced tea that you had made him.
"Maybe if I slip out the garage?"
"And she'll know that we know where you are and won't leave us alone until we tell her."
"It's just…. She's getting closer to her due date and all I want for her to do is rest."
"Then tell her that. There's nothing wrong with that."
"Shit, you better get it in now because you won't get any in 6 weeks when they get there."
"She's having a c section so it will be longer simply because I want to make sure that she's healed. That is major surgery and I need to make sure she recovers well."
"Can't believe our parents are becoming actual parents to tiny human beings."
"Me either and I bet that it won't hit me until they actually get here." Jack said while trying to listen out for you.
"JACKKKKK!"
"SHIT!" Jack exclaimed as he heard your voice calling out for him and all of PG suddenly got nervous looks on their faces.
"Man up and go take care of your wife!"
"But…"
"URBANNNNNNN WHERE'S MY HUSBAND!?!?"
"Oh damn now she got it out for both of yall."
Jack quickly ended the facetime call and hopped up out of the closet to almost bump into you as you had made your way into the guest room.
"Uhh? Were you in the closet?" You asked while looking at him confused.
"Umm…"
"Are you avoiding me?"
"No, not exactly."
"Then what is it? Because I've been wandering around our house looking for you for ten minutes and caught you coming out of the guest room closet so make it make sense."
"Umm…"
"He's tired of you asking him for sex all the time." Urban said from the hallway as he passed the both of you and then continued eating his hot cheetos.
"URB!"
"What did I do? We were all literally on facetime just now with you sitting in the closet and that's what you said. You said that you were also convinced that your dick was going to fall off because she keeps asking you and you don't know how much longer you can take and you were trying to sneak out the house without her seeing you. Did I get it all?"
"Too much actually."
Urban saw how you now had an annoyed look on your face and he decided to remove himself from the situation before you started to yell.
"So you don't want to have sex with your wife anymore?" You asked while eyeing him.
"No, that isn't it at all."
"Then tell me so I can understand."
"You're getting closer to your due date and all I want for you to do is rest. You are literally so tired all the time and I can tell. This pregnancy is taking a toll on you for obvious reasons."
"You act like I have to push them out. They're cutting me open and taking them out."
"Not the point mamas and you know it."
"Just say you don't want me anymore and that I'm unattractive to you and go." You said before trying to walk away from him but he immediately pulled you back.
"You want to run that one by me again? What would possess you to ever say that out of your mouth to me?"
"Because I'm huge."
"Um, last time I checked there were three people in there and you aren't huge, you're pregnant."
"Same difference."
"You know that I tell you that you are the most beautiful person that I have ever laid my eyes on and that is never going to change." Jack said while leaning down to kiss you.
"I said I was fat, not ugly. I know my face card never declines. But thanks I guess."
"I just can't win with you can I?" Jack said growing increasingly frustrated with you even if he was trying his best to be patient.
"What is that supposed to mean?" You asked while raising your eyebrow and crossing your arms.
"You know EXACTLY what it means and you've done this throughout your entire pregnancy. I get that you're carrying my children but I'm trying my best here and it seems like it's never good enough for you."
"That isn't true and you know it."
"If it wasn't true then why would I say it?"
"I don't mean to be difficult. I just want to spend as much time with you as I possibly can before they get here because after that I'm going to have to share you with three other people and I don't know if I'm ready for that as selfish as it sounds. I've had you to myself since I was fourteen."
"Then why didn't you tell me that?"
"I don't know." You answered while looking down at your belly and rubbing it.
"Baby look at me." Jack said and you quickly shook your head no.
"Mamas, let me see those pretty eyes of yours. Look at me." Jack said once again as he lifted your chin.
"We're going to have to learn to adjust but there is no one I'd rather be doing life with than you. Just because we're about to have mini versions of us around doesn't mean that I'll be making you less of a priority. I'm always going to make sure my baby girl is okay and you know that is never going to change. You know I love you to the moon and back, right?"
"Yes and I love you too and I'm trying not to cry because that's all I seem to do nowadays."
"Yes with your cry baby ass because those hormones are making it ten times worse."
"It's your fault anyway."
"I..well…. Are you okay now?"
"Yes, but I still have one question." You said while looking up at him hopeful.
"What is it stink?"
"I totally understand what you were just saying but can we have sex now?"
"Seriously!?" Jack sighed while looking down at you.
"It is taking everything in me not to rip your clothes off right now. Blame my hormones sir. My husband is sooooo handsome." You said as you hugged him tighter.
"It seems like you do this even when you weren't pregnant so don't blame it on that. You don't see me for five minutes and want to rip my clothes off."
"Soooo, is that a yes? And do you blame me? You shouldn't be so cute. I actually got enough sleep last night so I can ride you. " You asked your husband while looking up at him and smiling.
"You literally got out of breath in two minutes last time. You would have thought your ass ran a marathon."
"Because I hadn't gotten enough sleep! I'm good this time, I promise. Come on babeeee."
Jack's breath hitched in his throat as your hand made its way into his boxers and began slowly stroking him while reaching up to kiss him and he eagerly kissed you back.
"Mm hmm, you want this as bad as I do, don't you?"
"Are you literally jacking him off in the middle of the hallway!? I KNEW his ass was gonna fold. Just wait until I put this in the group chat."
"URBAN!"
"What? I knew you weren't going to last because you can never resist your wife. She always gets her way." Urban replied while shrugging and all you did was smirk.
"Anyway, baby girl I am definitely punishing you for that."
"If it involves cum down my throat I'm all for it."
"ENOUGH YOU TWO! E FUCKING NOUGH!"
"You would think that he would stop cockblocking when he got a girlfriend." Jack whispered to you and you stifled a laugh.
"I HEARD THAT! AND I'LL NEVER STOP BECAUSE YALL ARE FUCKING DISGUSTING."
"AND!?! YOU ACT LIKE WE CARE!"
"Eating pussy everyday keeps the doctor away or whatever that saying is." Jack said as he shrugged and Urban simply rolled his eyes.
"Then come and get your daily dose."
"Say less, baby girl."
"I... let me go and bother my girlfriend." Urban said while walking past the two of you and Jack quickly picked you up bridal style to start making his way into your shared bedroom.

Tomfoolery
She wore bells in her hair. Big gold ones hung on the red ribbons weaved into her braids. The chimes bounced and jingled against her spine when she backflipped and sailed in gleaming arcs when she cartwheeled.
Apparently, she'd been part of a circus act before the prince's uncle bought her for the court. And with such a background, she could do all manner of oddities and diversions: contortions and gymnastics, juggling and skits of false clumsiness. She could balance knives on her nose like a seal--up to three at once. Her ribbon dancing was the prince's favorite, the way she made the cloth rush like a river current or swell like living flame. And on the days when everything failed to divert her royal charges, she did not shirk from their endless ammunition of rot, always armed with a bright, laughing smile. As if even in the face of yesterday's scrap pile, she too, was in on the joke.
The prince did not enjoy that last one, especially once he began noticing how the light in her grin never reached her eyes. They stayed dull and opaque all the time, like the frosted glass his father had installed in his windowpanes to keep him from staring out.
However, the prince's father and uncle seemed to revel in food-lobbing days, and it was after one such merriment involving the curdled remains of a creamed spinach dish and a rancid meat pie that the prince found her in the kitchen, swearing and ripping at the knots in her ribbons as she bent upside down in front of a half-filled wooden tub the prince was pretty sure, from the smell, had already been used for mass washing heads of cabbage.
"Can I offer you a hand?" he said.
She beat her bare toes into the wall of the tub with a yowl, flipping her hair back over her shoulders as she whirled to face him. For the first time, her eyes were clear, not shining with lovely laughter but deadly fire.
"Do I look like I want--" The flames doused, and her eyes went wide as silver coins as she registered his face. "Your Highness."
All at once she was on her knees, head nearly touching the greasy stone floor.
"I apologize, I didn't expect anyone of your..." she swallowed as if struggling past something foul, "standing to be here. In this part of the palace."
"Well, I used to come down and read next to the ovens, but I'm not quite so inconspicuous anymore. A little too big to hide behind the flour bags." He chuckled awkwardly. The jester did not smile. "Anyway, Catry said you'd be down here."
The jester leaned back on her heels, eyes narrowed. "That little--" She caught herself, gaze flicking warily back to the prince. "Angel! That little angel. So good of her to direct you to me. May I be of assistance, my prince?"
A warm blush spread up the prince's neck to the roots of his hair. He hadn't exactly thought about the peculiarity of a member of the royal family searching out the court jester. Many a servant could be spoken to on pretenses of orders, but he had no good excuse for why he'd be in search of her.
The truth sprang to his lips before he could think to smother it.
"I was wondering if you were alright. When Uncle thew that last pie, it looked like the tin-- Oh!" He canted his head toward the purple splotch making itself known under her left eye. "It's bruising."
His hand reached as if of its own accord, and she swiftly side-stepped, this time smoothly avoiding the lip of the tub. Her eyes narrowed even further. "I'm fine. Thank you, your majesty, but I assure you the bruise will not affect my performance. I'll have it covered and be ready to go by tomorrow."
Ice. Sharp, pristine, palace-perfect ice.
Right. That was about what he'd expected He had learned long ago that the people hired to serve and take care of him were not comfortable with his attention or friendship. What he meant as concern was always interpreted as criticism, expertly masked by royal politeness.
"I'm certain you will be." He paused, glancing over the tub and its room-temperature water. It was situated in an alcove at the very back of the kitchen, out of sight unless standing directly in front of it. He hadn't realized anyone might... He heated a little thinking about what would've happened if he had arrived a little later.
He pointed at the tub lamely.
"Would you like to use mine?"
As soon as it left his mouth he knew he'd made a mistake. She wouldn't even accept an inquiry on her well-being.
"What do you think I am?" she snapped, face red with embarrassment or fury or both. All decorum had fled. "Your uncle might have purchased me, and maybe to you, that makes me property. But I would rather be guillotined than accept the passes of a disgusting, spoiled, power-abusing, prince!"
The prince thrust up his hands, attempting to block the heat of some of her fire. "Th-that's not what I meant at all! Of course, I think you're beautiful, but I honestly only had your well-being in mind. I would never dream of--" His hands flew over his face, and he cringed as he found his cheeks hot to the touch. He pinkened at the slightest of embarrassments--something his father never ceased to remind him of--so right now he must be vibrant. "Excuse me."
His heart beat loudly in his ears, the blood rush making him a little dizzy.
"You're...really red."
A new wave of heat the prince didn't even realize could outdo the last one washed over him.
"I know."
"If you're this embarrassed just talking, how..." She trailed. "You were serious."
The prince didn't dare confirm or deny. Everything he said today had disastrous results.
"Why?"
He should just leave. Leave and pretend none of this ever happened. It wasn't like she could confront him about it later. But he also wasn't sure he could accept leaving her opinion of him tainted.
"Because that looks terrible." He jabbed a thumb at the foul water, his other set of fingers still clapped firmly over his eyes. "And they already treat you terrible. Me too I suppose. So I wanted...I simply thought you might like some help."
There was a long pause. So long, the prince half-wondered if she'd tiptoed around him while he hid his face in his hands. Finally, he peeked out through the cracks at her clenched jaw and dulled eyes. Reverted from the fiery phoenix of a few seconds ago to the submissive show bird of the court.
She locked onto his gaze. "No. Thank you. I appreciate, your highness's concern, but I fear my acceptance of such a magnanimous offer would not be appropriate. I fear I would tarnish your highness's name if anyone were to misunderstand. For this reason, I must also advise your highness not to seek me out."
A politically correct way of saying, 'Leave me alone.'
The prince's heart sank. He wasn't sure what he had been expecting of this encounter, but he couldn't help but feel he'd failed spectacularly.
"Right. Of course. I appreciate your heartfelt concern." He turned, moved a few steps, then turned again. "I-if you change your mind, about needing help, let me know. Alright? It's not personal. As a prince, I have all my subjects' best interests at heart."
A thin smile. "You have my word, your majesty."
That too, was all politeness, and maybe, at the heart of it, fear.
As the prince miserably retreated, he did not expect to hear from the jester again.
So it was rather a shock when she showed up at his bedroom window two days later, pale as a ghost and covered in blood.

Only You
Plot/Prompts: 'Secret Admirer' + 'Thinking your crush asked someone else to be their Valentine, but then they ask you' and 'Shyly giving your crush a Valentines gift, and being surprised to receive one in return'
Pairing: Stephen Strange x Gn!Reader

Warnings: Use of Y/n a couple times.

Walking down the street, back towards the sanctum, your eyes passed over the various Valentines themed storefronts littering the streets.
Most years you couldn't care less about the hallmark holiday, but this year the hope you might celebrate it was strong. Though, the doubt that sat in your chest was even stronger.
Ever since you joined Stephen at the sanctum, developing your own powers, you had also developed feelings for him. You hoped that he might feel the same. But he never said anything, and you couldn't find your own courage to ask him, or tell him how you felt.
Within that doubt of his feelings, you feared it was all because of Christine. She was kind, and beautiful, and you knew he loved her at one point, you wouldn't be surprised if he still did.
You wondered if he was going to reach out to her, and ask her out for Valentines Day. Send her flowers, or chocolates. Would she accept? Would they rekindle their relationship? While you sat in the background and watched with a broken heart?
As you got to the sanctum, you pushed the thoughts out of your mind. Not wanting to dwell on something that hasn't even happened.
Entering into the sanctum, your eyes immediately landed on a large bouquet of roses sat on the table. You slowed in your steps as you eyed them.
"Those were delivered for you earlier." You heard Wong speak from the nearby room.
Looking at him and then back at the flowers, your heart was pounding in your chest.
"Who are they from?" You asked, though you figured he wouldn't know.
"No idea." He said, confirming your thoughts. "Isn't there a card?"
Searching through the foliage you found nothing and shook your head. "No. Are you sure they're for me?"
He nodded "That's what the delivery man said."
As he walked away he smiled "Maybe you have a secret admirer?"
You smiled, but your heart was hammering ad your ears were burning. Why would someone not send a note? Could they be from Stephen?
Just as you thought this, Stephen walked through the room, his eyes landing on you and then the flowers. "Got a Valentine Y/n?" He asked, a small smirk on his face as he continued into the other room, seemingly unbothered.
Doubt settled in your chest as you faked a smile and spoke softly knowing he probably wouldn't hear you. "Not as far as I know"
Looking back at the flowers, you smelled them and smiled softly. No matter who they were from, they were beautiful. Taking them up to your room, you thought about who they could have been sent by, and why.
The idea of who sent the flowers to you never left your mind, but you went on with your day, wondering if they would make themselves known.
The next day, as you wandered through the sanctum, you heard Wong call your name from downstairs. Leaning over the railing you peered down, seeing him holding a large heart shaped box.
"You got another delivery."
"Wha-" Your mouth hung open in confusion and bewilderment before you made your way downstairs.
As Wong handed the almost comedic-sized box of chocolates to you, you shook your head "What is going on?"
Wong shrugged as he shook his head "Like I suggested yesterday. Perhaps you have a secret admirer."
"But who?"
Wong looked around before leaning a bit closer and whispering "Stephen?"
You met his eyes and let out a soft breath "I doubt it Wong."
Wong could sense the disappointment that sat in your tone and he frowned slightly "I think he feels more than you think he does."
"If that's true, he doesn't show it."
"Or maybe he does?" He said while tapping the chocolates lightly.
You looked at them and thought about it "But what about Christine?"
Wong sighed "I suppose that, I don't know. Maybe you should ask him?"
You scoffed lightly "And what if I just ended up embarrassed?"
"Well, at least you'd know either way." He patted your shoulder lightly with a smile before he walked off, leaving you to contemplate what to do next.
--- --- ---
As you made your way through the sanctum looking for Stephen, your breath was a bit uneven as anxiety coursed through you. You decided to not only get Stephen chocolates, but to make them yourself.
Fear of how he might react, caused you to come up with various reasons and excuses for the chocolates if he rejects you. They are obligatory, or you might tack on that you made some for Wong as well.
Walking past the library, you halted when you heard Stephens voice.
"Y/n?"
Peering in you smiled "Oh there you are."
"I thought you might be looking for me, I could hear you walking all around the sanctum" He smiled as he pulled a book from the shelf.
You smiled a bit bashfully, the chocolates behind your back.
His eyes darted from your arms to your face before he smirked softly "Not another one of your experiments gone wrong is it?"
You chuckled as he recalled your failed attempts at spell work when you first joined the sanctum. "No. Well, yes, but it has nothing to do with magic, and it didn't go wrong...I hope."
He quirked his brow as you set a box in front of him. Sliding it over, he lifted the lid and felt his heart jump lightly as his eyes fell on the chocolates. Each obviously homemade, and made with care at that.
His smile eased your anxieties a bit, but you still found yourself holding your breath.
He looked up at you "You made me chocolates?"
You shrugged and smiled "'Tis the season, and all that."
You watched as he took one out before taking a bite. After a moment he looked back at you and nodded "Delicious."
You smiled, somewhat proud of yourself, as you tried to ignore the burning of your ears.
After eating the rest of the chocolate and wiping his hands he held up his finger "I actually have somethig for you too."
Your heart seemed to stand still for a moment as you froze. "You do?"
As he reached into his pocket, he pulled out something wrapped in a sage green fabric.
Handing it to you, you slowly opened it, sparing him a few glances as you did so. The fabric was a soft silk and within was a medallion on a beaded chain. You recognized the rune on the medallion as a magic rune symbolizing protection.
"A protection rune?" You asked with curiosity and awe.
He nodded his head "It wont make you invincible, but it will warn you of oncoming danger. Which, in our line of work, I hope to be helpful."
You grinned at him "Thank you Stephen that's very thoughtful, and it's beautiful."
"I thought you might like it."
"What is it for? I mean, besides the protection part."
Stephen looked down at the chocolates "The same thing these are, I hope."
He saw you furrow your brow slightly as you gently toyed with the medallion. You feared maybe he misunderstood the meaning behind the chocolates and you feared you may not be able to say it properly.
"I hope you also like your chocolates, and flowers?"
Your eyes darted up from the medallion to Stephen as he stared at you with a cocked head and subtle smile.
"The- those were from you?"
Stephen slowly approached you "I wasn't sure if just giving you to them out of nowhere would be too forward, but-" he looked down at the chocolates and smiled "Maybe I was just overthinking it."
"Overthinking it?" You questioned, afraid you might be misunderstanding him.
What if the flowers and the chocolates, had no meaning behind them and he was just being kind?
"Asking you to be my Valentine." He said with a smile "I kept wanting to ask you, but I wasn't sure how."
"Oh. What about-" You hesitated, afraid to ask.
He squinted "What about what?"
"What about...Christine?" Your voice as soft, as though you were afraid to even say it, to bring it up.
His brow furrowed even deeper as he shook his head softly "What about her?"
"Well I thought....I suppose I thought you still had feelings for her."
A subtle, almost sad smile crossed Stephen's face as he shook his head, taking a step closer to you.
"I care for Christine and always will, but only as a friend. The only person on my mind in any serious way, is you. Only you. "
Taking the medallion from your hand, he began to place it around your neck as he looked into your eyes.
"I hope I can show you that more now."
After placing the medallion around your neck, he kept it in the palm of his hand as he stared into your eyes. "You never said if you'd be my Valentine."
You tilted your head a bit "Well, you never really asked."
He smiled as he let out a soft chuckle "Fair enough."
He took another small step closer, his voice soft and his gaze intense. "Will you be my Valentine Y/n?"
You smiled at him silently for a second before you nodded softly "I would love to."
xx End xx
I'm not sure how I feel about how this came out, but I hope you enjoyed it~

Pairing: Eddie Munson x Reader
Prompt: “As you wish”
A/N: Hello! Am I sick right now? Yes. Very. Is this a self indulgent fic where Eddie comes to take care of you while you’re sick? Also yes. I hope you enjoy :)
Tumblr media
You groaned as you woke up groggily, dazed as you pulled yourself from the deep slumber you had been in. It took you a moment to figure out what roused you as you looked around the dark room and you glared once you found the offending item. The phone on your night stand was ringing loudly and caused the pounding in your head to get more painful than you thought possible. You picked it up quickly, just wanting the noise to stop.
“Hello?” You practically snapped into the phone, sniffling as you noticed how clogged your sinuses still were.
“Woah babe! Someone’s a little grumpy.” Your boyfriend, Eddie, laughed through the line.
“Sorry Eddie.” You sighed out, your anger at being woken melting out of you at the comforting sound of your favorite person’s voice. “I was sleeping and the phone woke me up.”
“Sleeping? It’s 6 pm, are you okay sweetheart?” He asked quickly, his voice laced with concern.
“I’m sick.” You whined pitifully, smiling to yourself as you heard the light chuckle on the other end of the line.
“Awww baby.” Eddie cooed, a bright smile evident in his voice. “Want me to come take care of you? Nurse you back to health?” He teased lightly, though he meant every word.
“You don’t have to Eds. I don’t want you to get sick too.” You said, sighing again. You didn’t want to be alone anymore and you wanted to see Eddie, even if you just saw him yesterday, but you really didn’t want to get him sick.
“It’s decided. I’m coming.” He said, you could hear his keys jingling in the background as he started to get ready to come to your apartment. “I’m gonna stop by the store and get you some medicine and soup and then I’ll be right there sweetheart!”
“Eddie your really don’t hav-” You started.
“I’m coming baby. I want to help you. I wont get sick, I promise.” He said with a laugh, “I’ll be there soon. I love you! Bye!” He finished quickly, not letting you get a word in before he hung up on you.
You laid back in your pillows, smiling as you shook your head at his antics. God you loved that dork so much. You had never been so in love with someone before getting together with Eddie. He was everything you had ever wanted and more and you had never felt so loved and cared for before meeting him. He made you feel special, like you were the most important person in his life. Little did you know, you were.
~
“Baby? Sweetheart? Little plague monster?” You heard as you woke up again, not realizing that you had fallen back to sleep. You felt light kisses on your cheek as you blinked open your eyes, a sleepy smile pulling at your lips as you gazed into Eddie’s warm chocolate colored eyes. “There you are, beautiful.” He smiled, his dimples on full display before he placed one final, very wet, kiss to your cheek.
“Eddie!” You giggled, pushing him away lightly, “You’re gonna get sick!” You exclaimed before you were sent into a coughing fit.
“Let it out baby.” He cooed as he sat on the bed next to you and rubbed your arms as your body shook. “I got you. I got you, sweet thing.”
You grinned up at him as you rested back into your pillows, “Hi, handsome.”
“Hi, gorgeous.” He beamed, “I brought you everything to beat this. Soup, medicine, and I got your favorite movie. Steve and Robin say hi by the way. They told me to make sure to get you all better.” He chuckled, pulling the items out of the little shopping bag he had.
“You got the Princess Bride?” You asked, moved that he would go out of his way to get you something so comforting.
“Yeah, of course. The kid in that movie is sick anyways, so it fits perfectly.” He said, “But I wont put it on until you take a dose of this medicine I got.” He grinned as you let out a groan.
“That stuff tastes gross!” You pouted, shooting Eddie your best puppy dog eyes.
“I don’t care.” He laughed, pouring some of the thick red liquid into the little cup it came with. “You take this and I’ll put on the movie.” He said with a stern little head nod towards the cup as he handed it to you.
“Will you quote the movie with me again?” You wagered as you gave the medicine a cautionary sniff, wincing as the artificial cherry scent hit you sharply.
“As you wish.” He said with a shit-eating grin, loving the way you giggled again. You shot back the drink quickly, grimacing as you looked for something to wash the taste out of your mouth. “Here, I thought you would hate that.” He chuckled as he handed you a glass of water from your side table.
“Thank you for coming to take care of me, Eds.” You said softly as you placed the water back on the table after you took your sip.
“Anything for you sweetheart.” Eddie said, his eyes full of utter adoration as he smiled softly at you. “Now let’s get the healing started!” He exclaimed, jumping up from the bed to set the movie up on your TV. He quickly pressed play before quite literally launching himself onto your bed next to you, sending you into any other fit of giggles that he basked in.
He pulled you into his arms, holding you tight to his body as he rubbed your back comfortingly. You almost missed the dreamy sigh that he let out as he melted into you and the pillows. Almost. “I love you Eddie Munson.” You cooed out.
“Oh I love you too, sweetness. So fucking much.” He said happily.
~ 4 days later ~
The little bell over the door rang out as you walked into the video store, waving happily at Steve and Robin as they greeted you.
“Feeling better?” Robin asked as you walked up to the counter that she and Steve were standing behind.
“So much better, thank you.” You smiled, placing the small grocery bag onto the counter.
“Good, Eddie told us you had the plague or something.” Steve smiled as he leaned on his elbows.
“Just a cold.” You laughed. “But now Eddie has it so I’m going over to nurse him back to health.” Your smile widening as they both rolled their eyes and shared a look between them. “Do you have the Empire Strikes Back? Eddie was asking for it.”
“Yeah, it was just returned.” Steve said, pulling the tape from a pile he hadn’t put back yet and handing it to you. “You know you’re just going to keep passing that plague shit back and forth between you two, right?”
“Yeah.” You beamed with a little shrug, “We don’t care.” You laughed as you handed Robin the money before walking out of the store with a little wave, ignoring the two as they scoffed and shook their heads.
“Five bucks says they’re both sick next time.” Steve said, causing Robin to laugh with a nod.
“Oh definitely.”

36. things you said but didn’t mean (sidgeno)
tell me you're not over contractgate without saying you're not over contractgate...
thanks anon! the prompt list is here :)
Zhenya’s phone has been going off since the news broke last night.
He turned it off after he signed his contract and got confirmation it was received; he wanted to go to bed without constant interruptions, actually get some sleep after an emotional and exhausting couple of days. He hadn’t been that successful, but he’d at least woken up and for a few minutes been able to pretend that it was just a regular day, that nothing dramatic had happened to him recently, and all he’d have on his phone were the usual drunk messages from Sasha begging him to come back to Moscow early and a few good-morning emojis from Sid.
After he finished his tea, though, he couldn’t avoid it any longer, and he reluctantly took his phone into the living room, hoping that maybe the background murmur of the TV would lessen the blow.
It did not.
The TV is on, sure, but Zhenya had to turn it to mute—the morning news clashing with the constant pinging and buzzing as his phone frantically tried to alert him to every missed call, text, email, telegram, WhatsApp, instagram DM, snapchat, and tweet was giving him a pounding headache. And two hours later, he’s just barely climbing out from under it, deleting the majority of the notifications unread and focusing his attention on responding to teammates and the guys who are still lingering around Miami for the summer. The rest of the Russians and his family can wait—his parents will understand, and he doesn’t care about pissing Sasha off.
There’s one conversation that’s been pushed all the way to the bottom of his iMessages, inactive since yesterday morning. Zhenya’s scrolled past it a few times, but can’t bring himself to click on it.
Finally, when he finds himself actually contemplating responding to fans’ DMs with apologies for making them worry, he forces himself to open the last things Sid texted him, right after their fight.
hanging up on me? seriously?
this isn’t my fucking fault
and now you’re ignoring me? fucking awesome
whatever man. i don’t have to deal with this shit from you. i’m sick of your bs whenever you’re not getting your way. do whatever the fuck you want, i’ll find out what sorry team signs you tomorrow afternoon
Zhenya feels a little sick, reading it back now. He’d been so angry when he’d hung up on Sid, screaming at him like he hated him. Some of the stuff he’d said…he can’t blame Sid for being upset.
There are Flyers fans from their early years in the league who’d love to take notes on what Zhenya said to Sid yesterday.
Sid’s weathered Zhenya’s temper before, though—let him rant and rave and calmed him down with just the right words, and eventually, just the right touch. He’s always known when to leave Zhenya alone and when to engage, just like Zhenya knows how to handle Sid’s bursts of anger and the rest of his quirks. It’s why they work, it’s why they’ve always worked.
Now, though, staring at a conversation that hasn’t been updated in over 24 hours, Zhenya wonders if he finally said something that Sid can’t forgive. What else would have kept him from sending a message when he got the news that Zhenya was staying after all?
Screwing up his courage, Zhenya presses ‘dial’ and waits, holding his breath.
When it goes straight to voicemail, he wonders for a second if he really will pass out.
call me pls he fires off, sinking into the couch and rubbing his hand over his face when the message stays green.
He fucked it up for real this time, then. And now he’s tied himself to Sid’s team for the rest of his career, when Sid’s never going to talk to him again—or worse, he will, but in that freezingly polite voice he uses with annoying reporters and former teammates who have fallen out of his favor.
Zhenya wonders if Hextall would be able to trade him, even with the dramatics of the last 36 hours. Surely someone would be able to accommodate his new, reduced cap hit.
He’s not sure how long he sits on his couch, the TV playing soundlessly and his phone slack in his hand, but when his lock starts to turn, it sounds like a gunshot.
“Fuck,” Zhenya hisses, scrambling to retrieve his phone where it had fallen when he jumped. Probably Seryozha; old man never knows when to mind his own business.
When the door is finally open, though, the voice that floats through from the foyer is distinctly Canadian. “G?”
“Sid??” Zhenya says incredulously, jumping to his feet and almost tripping over his couch on his way to the hall.
Against all odds, it is Sid in his hallway, raggedy in his sweats and with bruise-dark circles under his eyes. He has one of his plain black caps crammed over his head, and the curls escaping from the sides are greasy.
“You’re staying,” Sid says, dropping his duffle. He looks small, shoulders uncharacteristically hunched in, and Zhenya moves toward him before he remembers what happened.
“I’m not sure you see,” he says cautiously. Sid seems skittish, darting his eyes around Zhenya’s condo like he’s never been here before. “I try to call, it’s voicemail. Sid, you’re here?”
“Oh, I was on the plane…I think my phone died while I was in the air, I don’t have a charger, can I plug it in somewhere?” Sid’s fumbling in his pocket. He won’t meet Zhenya’s eyes.
“Sid,” Zhenya says, concerned now, moving closer just as Sid sways forward alarmingly. “Sid! Jesus, come sit down.”
“Sorry,” Sid says faintly, letting Zhenya manhandle him into the living room and down on the couch. Zhenya remembers when they went to pick it out, how Sid had spent hours thoughtfully trying every couch in the store until the salesman looked like he was about to scream, before finally convincing Zhenya that this boring beige monstrosity was the right choice. He’d been correct, of course; this one is big and deep, and even ten years later still the most comfortable piece of furniture Zhenya owns.
“You’re sick?” Zhenya asks, plucking Sid’s phone from his hands and plugging it in. “Need water, maybe, or like, soup?”
“No,” Sid says with a deep sigh, settling back into the cushions and cracking his neck. “I’m fine. I’ve been traveling since last night, I haven’t slept…I’m just tired.”
“Last—” Zhenya snaps his mouth shut when Sid looks at him steadily. Last night, when his contract extension was announced. “Sid, I…”
“No,” Sid says firmly. “Listen. I get you were mad. I…well, I don’t know what it felt like, but I understand. And we both said some things…” He heaves a sigh. “I didn’t mean what I texted you. I’m not sick of you. I want to deal with your shit.” He looks down at his hands, twisted up in his lap. “I…you promised me. Do you remember?”
Zhenya does. After their first Cup, when they’d been so sure that they’d be back the next year, and the year after that. He and Sid had been tucked away together in a corner of Mario’s backyard, passing a bottle of shitty flat champagne back and forth and watching the sun rise. They’d been talking, but after a while it had faded to nothing, just quiet company, shoulders pressed together as the next day arrived.
“You’ll stay, right?” Sid had said abruptly, and Zhenya had looked at him, bleary-eyed and confused. “Here, in Pittsburgh. With me. You’ll stay? Even after your next contract?”
It hadn’t been a question that needed answering, in Zhenya’s eyes, but he’d answered anyway, leaning over and tilting Sid’s chin up and kissing him before whispering, “I stay always. Promise.”
He’d meant it then. He meant it last night, when he put pen to paper and signed away the rest of his playing career. He’d meant it when he was spitting invective at Sid over the phone, too, swearing he’d leave and sign somewhere the front office actually gave a shit about him.
“I never forget,” he says now, sitting next to Sid on the couch. “I’m so sorry, Sid, I’m like, I don’t know what I say to you. It’s such horrible things…I’m not mean, I swear. What do I do for forgive?”
When he looks over, Sid’s eyes are squeezed shut, but there’s a tear trickling down one cheek anyway. “I know you didn’t,” he chokes out. “I know, but…I was scared, G. I never really thought you’d leave me, and then…”
He opens his eyes and glares fiercely at Zhenya. “Fuck you for saying all that shit,” he spits, and Zhenya bows his head, because he deserves it. “Fuck you for doing that to me.” He sticks his hands in his hoodie’s front pocket, pulling out a small velvet box. Zhenya goes very still.
“I had to stop in Pittsburgh, on my way here,” Sid says, turning the box over in his hands. “I’ve had this…well, I had ideas, but we haven’t exactly made the most of the last couple of playoffs, so.” He snorts humorlessly. “We might not ever again, so I’m not sure what the point of waiting is.”
Sid flicks the box open. Inside there’s a ring, nestled in satin, shining bright. It’s gold, with beveled edges cut through with black striations, and thick; something that won’t look out of place on Zhenya’s big hands. If he knows Sid, there will be something on the inside—a date, maybe, or even a time.
“You don’t deserve this right now,” Sid says quietly, lifting Zhenya’s right hand and sliding the ring on. “And I’m not sure I deserve to be asking, either. But maybe that’s the point, eh? We’re still here.”
“Yes,” Zhenya says, splaying his fingers out to admire the ring, then folding his hands around Sid’s.
“Yes to what?” Sid asks, a bit of amusement lacing into his voice.
“Yes to everything,” Zhenya replies. “Everything, with you.”

MORE THAN LOVE | K. MBAPPÉ | 2
Tumblr media
previous chapter | next chapter
Summary: Sometimes even love is not enough for relationships. But it's fine because you are over it. But getting again in a contact with his younger brother wasn't smart.
TW: shitty english grammer, poor writing skills and few swear words
Notes: Hey, firstly i want to thank all of you for the activity on my previous post, i didn't expect that! It means the world to me, so thank you very much <3 ! Also if you want to be added to the tag list let me know. And lastly, i know that today's part isn't really entertaining but i promise that the next chapter will be better.
------------
You loved fridays, not just because you knew that weekend was ahead, but also because on friday nights new exhibitions were opening. This friday was the opening of the exhibition that you were working on since October, the author of the paintings herself was attending to it which made everything even more special. You were so excited.
It was a week after Ethan's birthday and in a meantime, you both decided that the two of you will meet tomorrow for your movie marathon. That was also the reason why you spent the whole yesterday cleaning your apartment and why you also spent three hours grocery shopping so you could have all the snacks you both love so much.
Now you were just getting ready for the opening. You weren't able to decide if you should wear a long-sleeved dress or wide-leg jeans with a backless top and a blazer over it. You were more into the dress, but your best friend on the other hand was begging you to choose your second option.
"Y/n if you are going to go with that dress no one will pay attention to those paintings there." she laughed, you could also hear a door opening in the background.
"You are ridiculous." if you two weren't face timing each other you would probably poke her in the shoulder for not really helping you.
"Look, even Lukas thinks that you should go with the jeans, right Lukas?" now you saw her boyfriend's face on your screen who was almost aggressively nodding his head. In the end, you decided to stick with their option as you started to grow more nervous about running out of time.
"Okay, thank you, guys. See you next week." you waved your hand to say goodbye and then just hung up.
You finished your look with a purse and nice pair of heels, catching a quick glance into the mirror before rushing from your flat to catch the cab that was already waiting for you outside of your apartment building. In the cab you noticed a notification from Ethan on your phone, he was asking for your address so his mum could drop him off at your place tomorrow. You answered with your address attached.
------------
"You really did a good job with this." your colleague Maria told you as you were both looking at the painting in front of you.
"Thank you, but all I was doing was really listening to the painter herself and how she feels about her paintings and how she thinks that they should be displayed." you shot her a smile as she rubbed your back.
"Oh Y/n if I could be humble as you are." she laughed and you joined her. It was almost midnight, most people were already gone just a few people stayed. You were getting more and more tired and Maria noticed that. "You should go home, you already left here your body and soul." she smiled at you.
"You are probably right, I will just go to say goodbye to the rest." you hugged her as she said goodbye too.
"And Y/n," she called as you were getting more distant from her. You turned your head her direction as she continued "don't forget to be proud on yourself." you shot her one last smile before heading to the last group of people.
------------
The cold air was hugging your body as you were waiting for your cab, but you didn't care, because you were happy. Happy about yourself, happy about tonight, and happy about the fact that six months ago you never thought that you will be able to smile without him.
You were looking on your instagram on the post you made earlier tonight. Scrolling thru the comments your smile growing just bigger and bigger.
Tumblr media
@y/n: Thanks to everyone who came to the opening tonight, it was great! And to the people who weren't able to make it the exhibition is on display till February 15th! Also big thanks to @anxt herself for attending tonight and sharing with us her stories about creating these master pieces!

A familiar voice pulled you away from scrolling thru the comments. Your head automatically snapped upwards just so you could meet with well known sight.
Kylian was walking on the pavement a few meters from you with Achraf on his side. You froze, you didn't see him since August and now you weren't even ready for it now.
Achraf, who was talking to him noticed that Kylian wasn't listening to him. He looked at his face, trying to notice what was he so focused on, and after he saw you, he knew why Kylian was drafted into his own world. Getting closer to you, Achraf slightly pushed into Kylian trying to make him stop staring at you so hard. Which he did.
You on the other hand were praying for your cab to be here as soon as possible. Your wish came true. At that moment Kylian with Achraf were two meters away from you. Achraf saw how awkward this situation already was, so he just said hi to you. You returned his greeting, now saying simple hello two both of them. You couldn't hear Kylian's answer as you jumped into the taxi as soon as it stopped. The driver pushed on the gas as he started to drive away. You exchanged one last look with Kylian who was looking like he just saw a ghost, which he also was in your mind.
"What the fuck was that Kylian?" Achraf pushed again into Kylian as he was still staring at the cab leaving in the dark.
------------
That night you ended up falling asleep with tears on your cheeks. Making you more than confused. Your breathing getting heavier as you were thinking about seeing Ethan tomorrow. You didn't know why you reacted that way, you know that you couldn't avoid Kylian forever. Paris was a giant city, but Kylian was everywhere.
Because Kylian was Paris and Paris was Kylian.
"What are we going to do today love?" Kylian looked at you as you were lying on his chest.
"I would lie all day in bed and maybe order pasta from that small restaurant you like so much." You answer as you were drawing small circles on his bare chest. Today you both had the day off. No work, no plans, no training or game. Days like this were your favorite days.
"Or we could do something more fun." Kylian was playing with your other hand. Making your fingers tangled up with each other.
"Are you trying to tell me that cuddling with my isn't fun?" you furrowed your brows, making not a nice face at him.
"No, cuddling with you is my favorite thing. But if we are gonna be just lying all day i'm gonna be all stiff tomorrow." He placed a kiss on your head.
"Okay, so what is Mr. I'm gonna be stiff tomorrow suggesting that we should do today?" you let out a simple giggle.
"I think that we should go for a walk as tourists, you know? Getting dressed up so nobody will notice us, going to see the places everybody loves, eating street food and watching the sunset along the Seine." he looked into your eyes, making butterflies in your stomach. But a quick realization came after.
"Well, I'm still a tourist that doesn't belong here." your smile getting smaller now as you referred to a comment that was made under your instagram post today, which made Kylian angry.
"That's not true Y/n. You belong here" You pulled out from him, leaving him confused about why are you standing now.
"Get out of bed Mbappé, we should get dressed." you told him as a way to light up the mood again.
Later that day you were walking thru the city center of Paris hand in hand. Letting out small giggles as you both find entraining the fact that nobody noticed the two of you.
"Hey look there, do you see that hot guy?" you pointed to the flat screen TV in the storefront. Now playing some AD with Kylian in it. "He's everywhere, don't you think?" you laughed.
"It's because he's Paris." he looked deeply into your eyes.
"And Paris is him." you added to it.
"That's also the reason why you belong to Paris Y/n."
"What?" you didn't understand.
"You belong to Paris because Kylian Mbappé loves you so much Mon amour"

His kid asks him to stay away (Oikawa, Atsumu)
Inspired by two scenes from Gilmore Girls.
Oikawa is surprised but beaming when he finds his daughter standing outside his hotel suite. "Hey, princess!" He envelopes Yuma (悠真) in a tight hug, which she reluctantly returns.
"I'm sorry I didn't call–"
Tooru shakes his head, squeezing her shoulders. "Nonsense. You're always welcome here. Hey, I made that corned beef that you like. The one with potatoes? I can heat them up right now. Come inside."
"No, that's okay. Listen, dad..." She takes a step back, pulling herself away from his arms. "Mom has a boyfriend."
Tooru blinks. "Oh."
"It's Uncle Iwa."
He inhales sharply. "Yeah, I...I heard."
Japan's team had a plethora of colorful characters, and the more noisy members liked to talk online and post photos of their unknowing teammates, coaches, and trainers. One particular trainer had many candid photos of him and Oikawa's ex wife in the background. You were never active in social media, so Tooru shamefully relied on his daughter's posts to see how you were doing. Her posts were always the same: friends, school, you and her together. You two were like the happier, healthier version of the Gilmore Girls. And there was no other man in your life as far as he can tell.
Everything was fine until last month.
Last month was your first birthday after the divorce. Tooru was in Argentina and could only send a polite greeting and of course, you only sent a simple 'thank you.'
The same time, his daughter uploaded two photos: one was of you two, and the other was of you and his best friend, sitting awfully close to each other.
He remembered that day like it was yesterday. After seeing Iwaizumi so close to you with the faintest red in his face, he had to know, he had to ask.
Three rings before the trainer picked up.
"What the hell, Trashykawa–"
"Are you seeing my wife?"
"..."
Tooru didn't even need an answer. The silence spoke for itself. But he wanted to hear what his friend had to say.
"Oikawa..."
"Please, Iwa-chan. Tell me the truth," he whispers. Iwaizumi had to have known how much Tooru still loves you, how much he wants to turn back time and fix everything. He had to know, because Tooru cried to him the night he signed the papers.
On the other side of the line, Iwaizumi inhales. Then he says, "She's not your wife anymore."
Tooru hung up. He was glad that Japan was an ocean away, because he would've driven straight to Iwaizumi's house and beat him up.
"Dad?" his daughter calls out to him.
"Sorry, sweetie, daddy spaced out for a bit."
His daughter examines his face, her own expression hesitant but determined. She sticks her hands into her coat pocket and speaks up again: "I want you to stay away from them."
Time stills and Tooru feels sick. "You...what?"
"Dad, I love you but...but you hurt mom."
"Honey, I– "
"And it doesn't matter if you mean to or not, you just do. You just do. And before you start, you should know that mom never speaks bad about you, well, not in front of me anyway--"
Tooru should be proud. Even at this moment his sweet Yuma retains his and your snarkiness. But right now he just wants to throw up.
"My point," she continues, "is that I'm not here because mom says you're the devil."
"I know. Your mom isn't like that."
"So then you know that she doesn't deserve getting clobbered."
"... I do."
"She deserves to be happy, dad, and Uncle Iwa makes her happy. I know that you must be mad and hurt but I'm begging you to please let them be."
Tooru can't bring himself to open his mouth as his daughter brushes back her hair, trying to hold back her tears. "I'm still gonna visit you and you can visit me. You can get angry at them and me but don't do anything because... because you should see how mom smiles now."
He understands. Looking back at it now, he couldn't recall the last time you smile so genuinely when you were with him.
His little girl, acting not so little anymore, rubs her face. "Anyway, that's all I got to say. It was nice seeing you."
"Wait–"
"I still have to meet up with my friends."
"At least let me drive–"
"This isn't Argentina, dad," she points out.
He doesn't have a car here. "Right."
She gives him a pitying look but only mutters out a "bye" before leaving.
Tooru silently opens the door to his hotel room.
He heats up the leftover corned beef from last night and sets down his plate on the table, settling in front of the TV.
But he doesn't eat or even listen to the news.
He cradles his head between his hands.
His only daughter, his sweet, little princess who should be free of troubles, came here just to tell him to stay away.
"Dammit." He swallows the lump in his throat as he fiddles with the ring he refuses to take off. "I'm pathetic."
You didn’t ask much. You always supported Atsumu, always defended him from your family when your parents accused him of abandoning you, always made excuses and did everything–everything to keep your relationship happy.
You loved your job and if someone were to go back in time and ask you if you would sacrifice your career for a guy, you’d throw your head back and guffaw, because the idea was insane. But then you met Atsumu, and he wasn’t just some guy. He was the guy. He was sweet and funny and supportive. He adored his mother, he had a good relationship with his brother. He was passionate and he shone brighter than anyone.
And you loved how much he loved volleyball.
So you didn’t ask for much.
You didn’t complain when he had to leave you alone when he was off to Argentina or China for weeks and months.
You didn’t whine when he couldn’t accompany you to family reunions and weddings of close friends.
It was your idea to quit your job the moment the test came out positive.
Sure, you loved your job–love your job–but Atsumu was your whole world. You never thought you’d have someone like him in your life and you were determined to be happy with him and the bundle of joy you two made.
Your son was born healthy. Hiroyuki (ヒロユキ), you decided to name him. Atsumu was there and he showed off the little runt to the doctor who delivered, to the nurses who helped, and your family members waiting outside.
You didn’t expect yourself to end up the way you did, but everything was fine.
Your boys were healthy.
Your husband was doing great. Every week there was always a shower of praise for your genius setter.
Your son grew up nothing like his dad though: while Atsumu was brash and loud-mouthed, his son was a quiet and polite boy who hated conflict; while Atsumu lived for volleyball, his son hated getting dirty and sweaty and preferred academics.
You and Atsumu still wanted him to be healthy though, so you encouraged him to exercise and pursue other hobbies.
Your son only begrudgingly agreed to get you both to shut up.
Everything was great.
You were great. You were content.
But then you saw it, a single message from an unknown number on your husband’s phone.
“I had an amazing night. Call me when you’re in the city.”
Your shining world crumbled in an instant.
You couldn’t remember what you did next. You vaguely recall smashing the device into a mirror and locking yourself in the guest bedroom.
The next six months were a blur, too.
You froze out your husband though you didn’t tell your son the truth, only telling him that mommy and daddy just couldn’t be with each other anymore. Some people were appalled that you wanted to get a divorce. “Because so what if he cheated?” They had asked. “Think of your son.”
You did think of your son. Ever since you discovered you were pregnant with him, you always thought of your son.
The divorce was for his sake as much as yours, because you had no guarantee that you wouldn’t end up murdering his father if you stayed next to him.
So you bought a different house in the next city, got your old job back, and got divorced. Shared custody.
The whole ordeal felt unreal. Every day, you felt like you would float out to space, but you had Hiroyuki, who liked to tug on your pants and remind you: “I’m here, mama.”
You would laugh and give him the tightest hug every time. You wished you didn’t cry so much every time though. You wanted to be stronger for both of you.
And you were strong enough.
With your baby and your job back, you became too busy to even think about your cheating ex.
Fast forward years later and it’s now your baby’s middle school graduation.
“You’re now a man!”
“Stop it, mom.”
“Whatever happened to ‘mama’?”
“Mom.”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” You kissed his cheek. “Your dad should be here soon.”
“It’s okay, I’m not a kid anymore, you don’t have to lie.”
You gently flicked his forehead. “I made sure to tell him.”
He blinked. “You did?”
“I did.”
“When…when did you tell him?”
“Last week–”
“You didn’t have to tell him.”
“He’s still your dad.”
“Yeah, my dad,” he bitterly repeats. Although the lawyers agreed on shared custody, the man was rarely around. When it was Atsumu’s turn to take care of Hiroyuki, he was almost never at home and the people who took care of the kid were either his mom or his brother. Truth be told, Hiroyuki didn’t care. How could he possibly forget the many days he caught his mom trying desperately to hide her sadness and the many nights she sobbed in her bedroom when she thought her son was asleep? Children weren’t idiots. And Hiroyuki never bought into the idea that kids needed a mother and a father either. Why would he? He grew up with only his mother being there for him, so why would he need his father now?
“I would’ve called him myself if you really wanted him here,” he says.
“It’s not about me wanting him here, it’s about him having to want to be here, and he should be here. It’s his only son’s graduation.”
“Middle school graduation. It’s nothing.”
“It’s not nothing.”
“It’s a celebration in mediocrity.”
“That’s a lot coming from the valedictorian and…” You fall quiet.
“What’s wrong?” He turns to follow your line of sight.
He exhales when he sees his sperm-donor walking into the auditorium, dressed in a clean polo shirt and some woman hanging off his elbow.
His Uncle Samu’s right: the man’s an idiot.
“Hey, mom, could you get me a soda?”
“Huh?” You snap out of your trance.
“I’m kinda thirsty.”
You try to protest but quickly quiet down before giving your son a sad smile and walking towards the cafeteria.
Hiroyuki inherited his father’s height so it only took a few strides before he caught up to the man and his plus one.
“Hi dad.”
Atsumu grins at his son. “There he is, the man of the hour. Happy graduation, kid!”
Hiroyuki bites his lip. He hates how oblivious this guy is. He hates how he could smile like this and bring this woman with him like nothing’s wrong and that everything is okay.
He doesn’t say anything else and an awkwardness falls between the three of them.
Atsumu clears his throat and gestures towards his date. “Have you met–”
“–no.” Hiroyuki shuts him down. “Dad, can we talk? Alone.”
The woman looks peeved and makes a face, like she’s expecting Atsumu to get mad on her behalf, but the volleyball player only shrugs and pulls his arm away from her. “Sure thing.”
The two guys walk to a corner in the room, away from prying eyes.
“Hey, I got you some cash but it kinda feels like it’s not enough, so do you have anything you want for today?”
Without hesitation, Hiroyuki speaks up: “Stay away from mom.”
Atsumu’s head swerves and he is forced to look straight into the clear, unyielding eyes of his only son.
There is a pause.
Atsumu lets out a nervous chuckle. “I’m sorry, I thought I just heard you say that you want me to stay away from your mom.”
“You heard right.” Hiroyuki crosses his arms. “Dad, I know what you’re trying to do.”
“What’re you talking about?”
“Bringing that woman here? I know you’re trying to make mom jealous.”
“That’s ridiculous! First of all, that woman is named Ochaco.”
“What’s her last name?”
“...”
“Dad, just stop. That’s the best thing you can give me.”
“Son–”
“I know you still love her.” Hiroyuki knows how the man looks at you, because it’s the same look you had whenever you heard his name or saw him on the news. He hates that you’re still in love with your ex, because those feelings blinded you from realizing how his Uncle Samu looks at you; Samu who helped you move, Samu who packed your things into boxes because you couldn’t bear a second longer in Atsumu’s house, Samu who made sure you and Hiro were always fed, Samu who could comfort you in ways Hiro couldn’t because you didn’t want to look weak in front of your boy. “But you can’t be together, not anymore, so please just stop these stupid games and go back.”
“What?”
“I have mom, I have Uncle Samu, they’re all I need.”
“Hiro–”
The speakers blared with feedback before the emcee called for all graduates to find their seats.
“I have to go. Bye, dad.”
Atsumu wants to pull back his son, to talk with him, but seeing his little boy walking confidently away from him broke his heart.
He bites his lip.
He really did f*** up.

Hello! This is based on personal experience but how do you the reader would celebrate her birthday with John. Maybe it's her first birthday together and she's never really cared for it but John wants to give her a special day? it's up to you <33
I've Been Waiting For You
♤ Summary: It's reader's birthday, only she didn't expect anything for it. The masterlist
♤ a/n: I've been gone so long and I genuinely feel so guilty. The chaos my life had become for a short while. Anyways, I'm back! And I'm gonna be working through some requests soon! Enjoy!
⋯♤⋯♧⋯♢⋯
You knew something was off, you didn’t know what it was but it was affecting John. He was behaving oddly, more secretive than usual. He was disappearing longer than he usually would for jobs.
While typically that wouldn’t have been abnormal you had unknowingly caught him in a lie. Yesterday John had told you that he was going out to do a ‘favor’ for WInston. He said that it’d take him a day or two at most.
The problem arose when you tried to contact him and got his voicemail. John always answered you, prepared to come to you at a moment's notice for emergencies. At first you tried to brush it off, not wanting to come off as a needy nuisance, but after a while the anxiety was clawing at you.
You came to a compromise with yourself, you decided to call Winston to check on John, prepared to beg him not to tell John that you were worried. You bit at your nail as the phone John gave you dialed - it only had two numbers on it, his, and Winston’s.
“Ah, dear? It’s been a bit since your last call,” you heard him hum. You could tell he was at the bar in the club, the background commotion nearly drowned out his voice completely.
“I’m sorry, Winston. I was just wondering about John.” It felt stupid to be nervous over a phone call, especially when Winston seemed particularly unbothered. “What made you think to ask me? You know how quiet Johnathan can be, the most I’ve heard him speak is with you.”
You swore you felt your heart physically drop, he lied to you. John lied to you. A number of bad possibilities ran through your mind and you found yourself getting lost in each one. “Dear, has something happened?”
You held back from taking a shaky breath, instead huffing through your nose, “everything’s fine Winston, I think I was just confused.” So very confused. Winston clicked his tongue, unconvinced, “if you say so.”
“I do. Thank you, I’ll visit you and Charon soon, I promise.” You hung up before he could respond out of anxiety. You paced around your room, Dog watching as you dizzy yourself out with dangerous ideas, convincing yourself it had something to do with you, that John was hiding something because of you.
You nearly felt sick at the thought of upsetting John in any way. You’re not going anywhere, you tried to remind yourself of how he reassured you back when you had those nightmares. But what if it was all just talk.
Your turmoil was interrupted by the sound of the door clanking open, he was home earlier than you thought and you had yet to calm yourself down. You wait a moment before reaching your room door to greet him.
However you were stopped by a startling, “stay in there!” Your hand froze on the doorknob, ten times more terrified than you originally were. “Please.” He added as an afterthought and it slightly reassured you. Okay, maybe he wasn’t as angry with you as you thought.
You plopped down on the bed, choosing to cuddle with Dog to pass by the time you were ordered to stay in your room. You stared at the ceiling, one hand swiping through Dog’s fur, the other nervously tapping at your stomach.
After a bit your door cracked open, John peeking through, his demeanor tense. You sat up, accidentally forcing Dog’s head off your chest from where she had been peacefully resting. “Come to the kitchen?”
You nodded, walking out, him trailing you close behind. You could feel him staring at you, watching your every move, almost like he was analyzing you.
You felt lost, finding the kitchen messily decorated with streamers, balloons of different colors oddly thrown about. “What’s this?” John frowned, now looking confused himself. He moved from behind you, dragging a cake you missed before forward.
“I know it isn’t much, but I still wanted to do something for your birthday.” Oh. Your birthday. You had forgotten about the day, lost to your anxieties about John. You had never really cared about your birthday before, and found yourself shocked that John had even known.
You ran your fingers over a raggedly cut streamer, feeling the care and thought that was placed into it. “For me?” You couldn’t quite grasp it still. John felt his heart slightly cracking over how shocked you were at getting even this mess excuse for a birthday surprise.
No fifteen year old should be made to forget their birthday. “I got you a cake, didn’t trust myself to make one.” You turned your focus to the delicately beautiful dessert. You realized that this is the first time you’ve ever been given a cake decorated with the words, “Happy Birthday!”
You had convinced yourself that you didn’t care for your birthday, that it was pointless to celebrate to protect yourself from the hurt of it being brushed over by everyone else. Yet here was John, going out of his way to create something special for you.
You felt embarrassed for getting emotional, nearly angry at yourself. And when he pulled out a pack of candles from his pocket you caught yourself from choking on a cry. “Can we blow them out together?”
“Anything you want.” And as he set up the candles you found yourself deciding not to make a wish, already having everything you could want, not wanting to become too greedy and possibly lose it all.
“Want me to sing you Happy Birthday?” John laughed at the way your nose crinkled just at the thought of him singing.
He lit the candles. “Make a wish.” You both leaned to the candles, and when your eyes shut you couldn’t help but think, I hope to never lose this.
“What’d you wish for,” you asked him as he began to cut up the cake. “It’s not my cake to wish on.” He pushed a plate towards you and watched as you eagerly dug in, a glimpse of childish joy shining through that he hoped to one day completely revive.
He didn’t make a wish on your cake but he did make a vow, he would do whatever it takes to never have you doubt what you deserved again, he’d keep you safe and happy. He’d show you the love you needed.
“Alright,” he tossed a napkin at you, “present time.” You wiped at your face, looking at him with a raised brow, “this wasn’t the present?” He found himself suppressing a scoff as he placed a small neatly wrapped box in front of you.
“Charon wrapped this, didn’t he?” You figured him out way too easily. “Well if you’re gonna be like that-” You snorted, protesting against him trying to take the present back from your reach.
“No faith in me,” he mockingly sighed. You yanked at the top bow, pulling it loose, “I have the utmost faith in you, promise.” Funnily enough, you found yourself meaning that very seriously. You opened the box to find a small photograph at the bottom of the box.
You pulled it out to see it was of you and John, Dog plopped right in front of you. It must have been taken by Winston as you don’t remember it. You’re looking down at Dog, laughing over how she had her tongue hanging out. John was looking at you, the brightest smile you’ve seen adorned his face.
“You’re getting older but,” John looked over at your shoulder, staring even harder than you were at the photo, “you’ll always be kid to me.” You thought you could have been imagining it, but you swore that John’s eyes had a glassy hue to them.
“Thank you.” You carefully placed the picture back into the box, turning around to hold John in the tightest hug you’re capable of. The picture would be placed in a special frame, sat on your nightstand to stare at continuously each night before you fell asleep.
For a moment, a very good moment, it felt like this is how it was supposed to be; you, John, and Dog.
