I love to see how Damian keeps showing he is a responsable and caring with kids. Looks like he learned to balance being a hero and taking care of a child meanwhile Jon still has trouble with both. Damien saw his focus more on his job and decide to do it better kind of how Dick showed him. I would love to have your head canons of Damian as a father.

ooo ask. these are one of fav headcanons of mine. and father? no, damian is absolutely the mother.

damian pulling memories and experiences he learnt from talia that at the time provided him warmth and comfort is so incredibly special to me.

i also feel like it heals the idea in his head(i even headcanoned before knowing this) that he thinks children would be near impossible for him because of the life he lives. if anything he’d want to give that child as much love as can bleed out of himself and show them a traditional happy life and without that… he thinks it’s hopeless. i feel like his relationship with trinity could be healing that. he’s even said this before

i feel dick perhaps could come over to see if the kid is still breathing but he’d be pleasantly surprised to find that trinity is very happy and healthy.

damian would adopt the mother hen traits a little too easily than he’s willing to admit and he’d be entirely fine with that

jon’s childhood (as short as it was) could even be somewhat lived through trinity, not in a possessive and overbearing way but in a passive and healing way

jon could be pulled in one direction but his duty as a hero but that could also make him understand why his dad was gone so often for him - often at times feeling neglected - him finding a new found respect for clark

jon has flight and super speed nearing that of speedsters and his absence is not exactly easily excusable and damian will remind him of that relentlessly

jon and dami might fight but they’re just so happy to be with one another as usual

jon really admires how dami stepped into the role though its not easy for him

just the idea of dami taking care of trinity and jon taking care of dami is so freaking cute

jon really wants to be around the two as much as he can, he even calls off the legion or young justice, etc if they don’t have a good enough reason to waste quality time

“mission? nope, im busy tonight” and he hangs up just to watch some animated movie theyve seen twenty times because trinity is obsessed with it

they bicker like an old married couple but its almost a show of how much they really care for trinity

while jon is out he is always thinking about what to get for trinity as trade for his absence, toys, candy, foods… he’ll go all the way to thailand to get thai food or china for chinese food the traditional way and not tell the either of them of the hurdles he went through to get it

trinity doesn’t even notice that jon may be absent no where near as much as jon is drilling it into his own head. the kid has no idea how good she has it

jon’s definitely the type to be like “why does it matter how much it cost?” because the smiles on their faces pay him back in full

when nights get silent they almost forget their not home

OC’s are one big ass thing in this fandom.

Basically any OC ever from anyone is adopted into fannon.

Since there’s SO many background newsies, an OC never really hurts tbh… there were so many child workers, not even just newsies, and all of them were individual beings (shocker, i know)

Like sometimes it’s literally just names and sometimes it’s meant to be just names but then happens to expand into it’s own character and sometimes it’s meant to be it’s own character from the beginning.

Then theres the unnamed newsies. Those are the newsies that were in the movie/shows but never really,,,, got named (a l o t of backround newsies did have a full lore despite saying like one sentence or nothing at all. But despite the huge amount, it doesn’t even cone close to the amount of actual ones that were there). The most popular/famous one would obviously be Tumbler. Tumbler is the little newsie from 92’sies who sits on the statue and slides from the back. He’s the one from the end credits AND on the official poster. Despite this he never had a canon name. Crazy tbh. Second most famous (but not even close to Tumbler) is Snaps, who,,, well…. He snaps…(i thought his name was canon for an embarrassingly long time…)But i wanna introduce you to @one-highfalutin-sonuva-gun . They name all the unnamed background Newsies, describe them and sometimes even gives them a little lore.

Anyway let me show you some of the most famous OC’s tgat are ACTUAL OC’s, as in ORIGINAL characters….

I don’t think anyone disagrees when i say that Crystal, by @crystallizedtwilight, is the most popular and famous OC you will find. Crystal is a Bowery Beauties who gets along with Buttons very well. She’s always wearing pink beautiful clothes.

I would argue that Atticus, by @atticusredwood, is the second most famous one. This may be controversial because it’s not even close to having the fame that Crystal does but if you can name me an OC between those two you are welcome to tell me lol. Atticus is a leader newsie of Queens (i think??) and very fucking intimidating. I’m scared of them despite knowing the fucker doesn’t exist.

Now i just recently found out that Stitches isn’t a real canon newsie. There’s not one particular person who made her up but there IS an account that roleplays an OC called Stitches. @ollitheheadphoneskid23 (tell me if this is the wrong one cause im nkt sure rn tbh)

Then, there’s recently been a WAVE of OC-roleplay accounts, caused by a particular post by @lemonlord14 (i would link the post but i can’t fucking find it i’m so sorry)

Cooking up this one modern au that wouldn't probably turn out to be something, but it is fun spinning it around my head.

bodyguard!sonetto, celebrity!vertin au.

They were childhood friends but due to life circumstances, both of them got separated, with nothing more but letters and gifts being exchanged over the years. The years go by and the correspondences grow less and distant as the two of them pursue their own careers and grow into their own persons. Sonetto turns to working as a bodyguard after realizing she's pretty good at it, Vertin works in the line of... something, i guess, feel free to throw ideas at me, that shoots her into stardom.

After years the two of them finally cross paths, in a formal reception where Sonetto's working as a bodyguard to some person and Vertin's there because she was invited. Something something they meet, catch up a little, on what's been up to them.

Then at one point Sonetto becomes Vertin's bodyguard and then after all these years she gets to know things about Vertin's life that isn't blared through the media, and somewhere along the way she kinda gets integrated into the little (massive) circle of friends and found family Vertin has picked up along the way. Everyone knows Vertin and she practically knows everyone lmao. She's the guy who knows a guy that knows a guy. Vertin also gets to know what Sonetto's been up to, and finds herself also quickly integrated into Sonetto's own circle.

Pretty fun thinking about what the other characters are doing in this world. Maybe i'll put a list here or something.

Pavia and Lilya are Sonetto's coworkers. Pavia teaches her italian/sicilian on their free time and Lilya's the one to keep nagging her to loosen up

And being coworkers for years Sonetto has been dragged to numerous gatherings courtesy of Lilya that she's a pretty common fixture in the Lilya-Druvis househould. Druvis' younger cousin Sotheby adores her.

Vertin and Sonetto were both orphans in the same orphanage, hence why they know each other.

i'm thinking the incident that takes Sonetto and Vertin away is some fuckery happening with the orphanage (cough cough constantine) causes it to be investigated and dissolved, with the orphans being sent to other ones. This is where the two part ways.

Though some time after that, Vertin gets adopted by everyone's favorite foundation parents, Miss Z and Tooth Fairy. something something the toffees Vertin sends to Sonetto on the mail is courtesy of Tooth Fairy.

Sonetto, unfortunately, does not get adopted and ages out of the system, but manages to get a good foothold into adulting by being... Sonetto, ever the diligent overachiever.

Verneider are married. The way they first met is as probably as whirlwind and chaotic as canon verneider, but less... murder and death. They have been happily married for a while : )

Feel like Schneider would be an actor. She is the embodidment of a femme fatale lmao

Anyways verschnetto endgame in my head. idk how it happens but the buildup of the three's dynamic is something like "hey my wife saw you from across the bar and we really dig your vibe. can we buy you a drink?"

I kinda want Blonney and Horropedia to be a brief fixture here. Both of them are horror afficionados that have made a name for themselves in their specific crafts (movie director and writer) and Sonetto has once bodyguarded them. She did not have a good time (had to sit through a horror-specific awarding ceremony type thing and had to listen to them talk each others ears off. she is forever traumatized.) also a scene im thinking off is that Horropedia off-handedly mentions Vertin, to which Sonetto of course focuses on, but all in all the scene goes like the one tweet about a dentist mentioning their son is captain america's actor but its Tooth Fairy and Vertin lmao

34. who takes longer to understand a joke or reference?

I would say it depends on what the joke or the reference is. Griffin is new to attuneless traditions and references, he might miss a joke that Anitha says on the fly. One of them is the mistletoe instance in Winters Past, where Griffin didn't understand the whole 'kissing under the mistletoe' thing.

On the other hand, Anitha still has to learn a lot of the attuned world outside Penderghast, and is still excited on learning about the attuned references.

35. who hides in the other’s arms during a horror movie?

Though Anitha is not really afraid of horror movies, she sometimes pretends to get scared, just to bury herself in Griffin's arms, and feel his warmth.

46. what do they do on vacation?

During active vacations, Flynn takes Tanya to the small towns surrounding Birchport, to explore the ambiance of a different place. Or if its a lazy weekend, they both like to take their blankets up onto the roof of Flynn's boathouse and either play some music, or simply do some stargazing.

Okay, so their first kiss happens post Harshith's chemical attack in book 2. Until the moment Harshith came out of the hospital room, Aurora has been on her toes about whether he would be alright or not, and the anxiety had kept her working the whole night to find the cure for him. When Harshith got settled in his room, Aurora wanted to check on him one more time before going back to Mass Kenmore, and instinctively she pulled him close and gave him a huge hug. Harshith asks softly, 'Is this just friendship Aurora, or is it something more?' In response to that, Aurora brings him closer and gives him a long kiss. Before leaving the room, she says 'Does that answer your question?'

92. soulmates!au. how are they connected? do they have matching tattoos, names written on them, etc.

In an au, maybe they would be academic rivals in the same school, competing for who gets the best grades, proficiency in their extracurriculars and for the valedictorian title. Their romance would be the kind of Ben + Devi kind (from Never Have I Ever). They realize their feelings for each other only a few days before graduation, and before they both leave for their respective colleges they each get a tattoo of half an infinity symbol on both their hands so that they never let go of each other. (Im sorry if this is bad! This is my first time trying an au and the concept is a little out o place)

For Ria x Maria

71. What does their future look like?

So according to canon, Maria attends Terman U after graduating from Berry High, but nothing is specified about what she ends up doing. So according to my HC, Maria either does a Business major or a Political Science major, which I have not decided on yet.

As for Ria, till her senior year she was convinced that she should take up a music major, but then realized that her heart wasn't much into making music her profession. She loved writing poetry and fiction, and eventually she does an English Major at NYU. She and Maria maintain a long distance relationship till Maria moves to New York after her graduation.

They take some time to get settled with their respective careers and lifestyles, and finally after 8 years of being in a relationship, Maria proposes marriage.

I HC that they end up living in a cozy apartment with 2 cats and a hamster. Eventually, they adopt a 5 year-old girl named Andrea.

A small discussion. We all know ghoatbusters is autisti media, but can we talk about how all the ghostbusters are definitely neuroatypical (except for Winston).

So this is my Thread(i will only be using the movies but i could add so much more with the Real ghostbusters):

So let's start with the easy one, Egon is Obviously Autistic, he is the steriotypical autistic person, blunt, which shows difficulty in communication, has a hard time with socialization and has repetitive and behaviour. (Yes, those are the main 3 traits to define autism according to the dms-5 ), but we can add in some other stuff like he restrictive eating and hyperfocus that arent defining traits but are also associated.

Now let's go for Ray, i see a lot of people mentioning of autistic behaviour related to Ray and well due to Dan himself being autistic. but i will throw a thing out here, Ray has ADHD Not autism, specifically the mixed adhd which brings in the lack of attention along with hyperactivity. (i know the spectrum shows differently in each person but this is my headcanon and what i observed) So lets start, he is very impulsive, and take actions sometimes without even thinking, plus very active, childish, and he lacks a lot of attention like they'd be talking about a thing and stantz would trail off or even start something without even considering causes, like with the proton packs, ray was the first one to offer himself even if it is a nuclear weapon. He could go overboard like when he is asked to scream to the mood slime and goes over the top, and now that's not necessarily a adhd characteristic, but it's common, he is very adoptive and quickly witted.

Now, for the one no one ever talks about when mentioning about neurodiversity in ghostbusters and my favourite Venkman.

Oh, how do i start with this one, thats the most AuDhD person, in the movies the phrases like "Good or bad is a bit fuzzy in my mind" or "dont stare at me you have the bug eyes, im sorry" both the situation, of not exactly understanding the morals or social effects and of not liking to be stared at, (he barely looks at people faces while talking to them) The lack of feel and being rather apathetic, being calm to react to stuff, like on the second on thr mocie when they were being judged and he was telling louis exactly what to say and yet extreme impulsive action, like the way he behaved with peck, his extreme sincerity and plus even tho he is very communicative his ways of communication are very directed as in the need to alrewdy have a theme or create a move. he needs a topic to communicate with people, like i found it so stupid that he used the experiment to hit on the girl on the first scene then he used jokes to die out his anxiety and he is not very expressive and to actually talk to dana he used the excuse of the ghost hunting, and the way he began to freak out about the ectoplasma (now obviously im over exagerating) could be seen as sensory issues, much like ray he also gets side tracked and distracted a lot. It's hard to have two voices in ya head telling the most logical and other one telling the impulsive intrusive thought, and he shows the mixture of the two perfectly. and if you want to push even farther in, we can discuss dislexia. The fact he has to ask Ray to read certain words for him and tell him what it says is already very interesting. (Adding in Bill murray is not openly autistic, but there were mentions about it in old interviews and some stuff in different people mentioning the possibility. but for the section of factuality, let's say no)

It could've been an accident or not, but here we have it. this is my belief that none of this is canon. im not Dan nor Harold remis im just a person who really likes those characters and is also Autistic.

I recently got back into the TMNT fandom after watching the Mutant Mayhem movie 🥛🫣 , so the only female turtles I know are the Canon ones, but the TV series when Venus first appeared made me dislike her till this day (the writers did her wrong). I don't have too many thoughts on this, but my fun thought is that I like to think Bhaal created Arthur in his own image. Sort of. (Full disclaimer I'm trying to learn but I dont know much forgotten realms lore so if I has a canon mortal appearance I don’t know it <3) but I like to think that Arthur looks remarkably like Bhaal did when he was mortal. The way I see it….. Arthur’s kind of…..Bhaal’s human sona / self insert oc. He made himself but cooler. Bhaal but like, a little more hot a little more buff better hair. Etc etc.

Some character design thoughts Arthur’s just supposed to be very conventionally attractive. Like to get the vibe across if I think if he was in a movie today I think Chris Evans should play him. Arthur’s got Ransom from Knives Out vibes.

3. Was kid Durge a usual child before the Urge awakened or were there some signs indicating smth was off about the kid? How did the environment react to them?

Okay using this as an opportunity to soapbox about Eliander's family! (They are all high elves except Agnes who is a half-elf). Eliánder was dropped off at the temple of Ilmater in Rivington as a baby, and adopted by Thranduin Daenan and Alea Daenan. Thranduin ran a clothing store in the upper city but was in the process of being run out of his business. Eliander never got along well with his dad, but when his mother died things hie relationship really deteriorated. Thranduin was a very traditional upstanding elf, and Eliander rebelled against him by acting out as much as he could. Thranduin was trying to train him to take up the family buisness, but when Agnes grew up, he began to hand off the business to her.

Eliander also had a complicated relationship with his sister. Because half-elves age much faster than elves (im going by just standard dnd lore here lol that elves reach maturity at 100) he was a very protective big sister of her when she was a baby. Thranduin was not a.... super involved father, and so 50 year old Eliander took it upon himself to raise Agnes. Agnes quickly outgrew Eliander, and by the time he was 75, she was a 25 year old adult while he was still emotionally a 16 year old. They both care very very deeply about each other, but their relationship was complicated.

To answer the ACTUAL question - Eliánder got in a lot of fights growing up. He would start a lot of fights by insulting people, and picked a lot of fights that he didn't have a chance of winning. He always got in a lot of trouble with his dad over this. He never killed any animals, but he has a memory of waking up not too far outside his house in the middle of his sleep chasing a cat down an alleyway. But otherwise he was a very normal kid :-)

i feel like "like" is a pretty broad thing for me. i can fucking despise something but it can still be interesting and i still like it. UNFORTUNATELY this is the case about mac and his parents. dear God actually a wretched family dynamic that attacks literally all of my insecurities with some of my own family. something about always making noise, always making a show but never being seen or heard really gets to me. the way even now mac makes it blatantly obvious what hes needing/wanting for emotional fulfillment, but his friends treat him just like his parents did because thats easier than sitting down and dealing with his issues. hes always been ignored so whats a little more?

theres a lot i could go into with this one. how being ronnie the rat was the only time mac would get seen, so of course he was incentivized to keep being a total snitch. how it seems that even joyce ended up adopting those methods against mac, being plenty apathetic towards things that were important to him (not even saying that her blowing him off is undeserved. its very much deserved even if its still a total dick move and heartbreaking that joyce would actively see the environment mac grew up in, and then decide to keep that cycle going for him). the way macs immediate family has interacted with him has affected. so much of his life that its insane. sorry that i wrote a lot about this one its just been on the mind.

huge rant below the cut (talking about rick and morty triggers the longwinded newspaper art critic in me sorry)

s7e2 and e4 were the best episodes in my opinion. absurd, darkly funny, overall just so perfect. i was especially excited about s7e2 since the rick/jerry dynamic has intrigued me since episode s3e5. i love that that episode basically just confirmed Rick and Jerry may be foils but are also perfect complements? they can only understand / appreciate each other when they are literally existing in each other's flesh? i try not to wax poetic about ram but this episode was tempting meeeee

and re: e4, i think this show's writing is at its best when the writers come up with a stupid concept and treat it seriously. i love that this episode saw the concept of 'what if corpse spaghetti' through to the end. classic dark comedy, absurd, wacky goodness. lovee it

one thing i do hate about this season (as well as seasons 5 and 6) is the number of callbacks to 'old' rick and morty. s7e3 and s7e8 were some of the worst episodes this season, mostly because they just reused old plotlines and developed them in the least interesting ways possible, imo. did the mid gag from s3e5 really need its own episode? it really did not. i think that this is one of the worst consequences of the show becoming less episodic and more serialized - the writers just endlessly milk the early seasons to recycle into plotlines, one-off gags, whatever. the self-referentiality and meta humor of newer seasons will always, always grind my gears severely.

also, s7e7 was almost unwatchable. it reminded me of s6e2 in all the worst ways - just dedicating an entire episode to a SINGLE movie reference, doubling down on the singular reference as the episode drags on. god that episode sucked. so boring, annoying, unfunny.

i have extremely mixed feelings on s7e5. On the one hand, I'm still annoyed that the backstory from s3e1 is even canon, and Rick is yet another entry in the long tradition of flawed male protagonists turned into a nihilistic depressed shitshow by the death of a wife. it's such a pat trope, imo.

HOWEVER, i really like how this episode developed Rick. I'll always be a fan of ruthlessness and revenge plotlines, so im biased. but i've come to appreciate Rick Prime as a villain, as a testament to how much Rick hates himself -- there's a version of himself out there that would torture himself across the universe by killing off his own loved ones, just to try to prove his own superiority? it's all very mindfucky but im super into it. Rick C137 killing Prime with his fists, all while Prime goads him? it was such a cool scene. i love when the show does selfcest

i also still have mixed feelings on the evil morty and his growing prominence in the series. it was nice when he was just a little treat, but it became clear in s4 the writers were aware of fan expectations for the character. i can't help but wonder if that's shaped the way they're writing him, especially giving him the centralized role in the story of possible-future-final-antagonist? that being said i've always liked evil morty, he's a fun character to watch on screen. although i'm extremely cautious of my enjoyment. he's already starting to feel like a fanfic rip-off of himself a little bit (that one line where he said 'well, they don't call me good morty' was so bizarre. evil morty was the fandom name for him, and the writers adopted it and made it a diegetic epithet for the character???????)

s7e10 was refreshing after a long season of Morty getting sidelined. I love how this one starts with a classic rick and morty set-up (what if *weird thing* in *random place*) but turns it into existential horror? really cool. i don't think it was the most subtle way to do morty character development, but it was interesting enough that i was invested. also, rick pinning morty's picture to the pinboard. so good

overall my reaction to this season is 'we're so back.' it was LEAGUES better than s5-6, which i think are like the ram dark ages. i don't think s7 was the best season yet (as some are suggesting) but I think that this season marks a positive turn for the quality of writing in the show.!!

Daily Hobie HC(??) Honestly this is just me rambling about my (personal?) hobie hcs so maybe it counts? - Starting off with one of the anon's asks earlier, I highly do not believe that Gwen liked Hobie or vice versa. For sure he had definitely taken Gwen in, but thats probably because she was homeless and literally had nowhere to go. Hobie had taken her under his wing instead of trying to initiate anything romantic with her.

And there is no way Hobie didn't already know about Miles- you can tell that Gwen definitely could not shut up about him to Hobie from day to night as soon as she was in earshot of him, by the way he immediately recognizes Miles and his jealousy, prompting Hobie to be the massive big brother shit-stirrer he is and mention his sneakers being taken, plus the jumper being left at his place. (I have a feeling Gwen didn't actually, and Hobie was just playing around by saying that) - A personal headcanon of mine is that Hobie's numb in a way, especially emotionally. It shows when they're talking about the canon events in the movie, to which Hobie just replies 'eh, what of it?', and brushes it off with a neutral expression on his face, while everyone's pained. I feel like he's already lost many family members, friends, etc due to the government that it feels as if nothing hurts anymore, when in reality it builds up to overflow one day. - Trust me aftercare is god tier with his man. Even if he's tired he'll always make sure that you're alright before he decides to rest, cleaning you up himself, getting you water and some snacks if it isn't too late at night. Once you two are fine, it's cuddles galore afterwards, with Hobie making sure you're asleep first before letting himself fall asleep. - A personal headcanon of mine which I'm usually very nervous to talk about is the fact which I think that he's somewhere on the ace spectrum. Of course he doesn't seem to really label himself on gender/sexuality, feeling comfortable with whatever people perceive him as, but going back on topic; I really don't visualize him being all that sex-hungry.

Sure he'll make the most vile jokes which leads you to question what his braincells do, but overall he's just happy to be there with you, whether its cuddles or causing havoc everywhere in his universe. - Adores Hobat Brown. Hobie and Hobat would get along so well, there's no possible way they couldn't. While Hobie's holding your hand, Hobat's found his way into one of Hobie's vest pockets. Or perhaps Hobie would DIY chest pockets onto some funny matching Halloween shirts you bought just for the little bat. Including you-bat too. Human versions and bat versions in opposite pockets- Hobat in yours, you-bat in Hobie's. - I feel like his favourite flowers are snapdragons. Not because im self-projecting, but if he had to pick he'd probably say snapdragons cus they just look cool. I can see Hobie randomly just squeezing them to watch them 'snap'. -He owns 4 cats, minus the strays. They're all oriental shorthairs, with the original being 'Mama Tea'N'Crumpets', or Mama TNC for short. Hobie adopted her after seeing her among the strays and looking very pregnant. After a few weeks, Mama TNC gave birth to three kittens; Bottol'o'Wo'ah (Bow - Brown like Mama TNC), Fish'N'Chips (Fish - Lighter brown/creme) and Theft (All black).

All four of them love sleeping in his bed, and in the middle of you two when you guys try to cuddle. Or on top, whatever happens first. They're the reason you two have to race to bed and immediately get comfy because Mama TNC knows how to open doors and all kittens follow. - Is weird and tries different icecream flavors (Loves chocolate though) - Has made a customized plushie for the two of you before you moved in properly with magnets in them so whenever you came over, you put the matching plush next to him and they held hands, or vice versa. When you moved in, the plushies hands stayed connected forever on the shelf. -🐦‍⬛

AUGH i’ve already spent an obscene amount of time thinking abt it and the specifics of how it affected his relationship with Steve and his general like… life trajectory.

i was gonna have it be grad student! stark(implied adopted)reader x bucky where she needs a place to live that’s affordable on the grad stipend and bucky lives ~10min from campus and has a room for rent that’s Cheap because he knows her family. kinda ended up fusing it with “dad’s best friend except it’s dad’s worst tenuous acquaintance” thing I was playing with where the motorcycle accident that fucked his whole life up was also the one that killed tony’s parents. technically it wasn’t his fault but also if he hadn’t been there it wouldn’t have happened. the canon parallels r paralleling. anyway i just like the “oh my god your dad is going to literally kill me” vibes and then also the thought of the OG6 avengers + co as a group of average suburban white people who have lame bbqs and other such get-togethers fairly often. in my little au Tony and Steve becoming friends probably happened when RC was around ~10 years old and Bucky only ever started being dragged to these little events when RC was 17-18 and only ever when Steve’s hosting because tony hates his guts. he knows it’s irrational and it wasn’t actually bucky’s fault but as per canon he’s an emotional manchild (affectionate… i still love u tony you’re just a fucking hot mess).

anyway as you can imagine he’s less than thrilled about her moving into Bucky’s spare room but she’s 22-24ish and that’s an Adult, also it’s her stipend and thus her call and Bucky is charging criminally little. and then,,, Oh No, He’s Hot :/ she kind of already knew that because he’s occasionally at the little gatherings even if it’s just standing in sullen silence on the outskirts of the group of people. but one-on-one it’s Worse because he’s also pretty cool and funny and nice? and then. Developing Relationship. he starts cooking extra when he makes dinner because he discovers RC only eats Garbage College Food and finds it frankly unacceptable. eventually she gets comfortable with him as a roommate and they will both hang out in the living room and watch garbage TV or whatever movie is on which devolves over time into actually watching stuff Together. maybe some weedsmoking elements (common in ppl w chronic pain who can’t take painkillers for whatever reason but also just makes my brain go brrrr i would sooo smoke with him. sighs longingly)

and then because im a massive fucking sap there’s the psychological elements of Guilt and Trauma and how life-altering events can separate you from your friends and stunt your development while simultaneously making you weirdly wise in some ways. and the kind of double-sided coin that is the fact that when truly terrible things happen to people sometimes nobody takes the time to really try to save them, and they’re not necessarily owed the time and sacrifice that would entail, but it still really sucks. for this specifically im thinking abt how steve maybe kind of just grew apart from bucky during his Struggles with his new disability + the pain meds thing + his life basically being changed beyond recognition in the blink of an eye. not out of malice or anything, he just… went off to college (for architecture. According To My Terminally Overdetailed Mind) and wasn’t around as much and didn’t really notice Bucky sort of slipping away until it was too late. and then he’s busy with his career and has a steady girlfriend and even getting married while Bucky is trying to not get fired from another shit blue collar job in their hometown for being either in too much pain or too sick to work. this is essentially the modern version of the dreaded fucking time travel scene in the sense that steve grows up and moves on and bucky’s just. trapped. missed out on a lot of normal development because he was kind of just fighting to Stay Alive and not like. living. the canon parallels paralleling AGAIN.

anyway eventually he manages to get clean and stay that way, but he does it for the most part alone. and i imagine the first time he tells RC all this she’s BLINDINGLY mad at steve the way twenty-somethings with limited irl experience and an idealized view of the world would be. and he’s like :/ no, he didn’t really do anything wrong, the world is just Like That. it wasn’t steve’s job to save him or put his own life on hold trying to get Bucky’s back on track and while it’s kind of shitty and definitely unfair, Steve had his own life to figure out and bucky wouldn’t have wanted him to waste it trying to drag him out of the hole he was in. sometimes bad shit just Happens and nobody will save you and you have to just keep going anyways, and that’s Life.

(in her little romantic 20somethings head like ‘i would have tried to save you consequences be damned’ the hubris of youth etc etc)

on the flipside of that Bucky thinks he’s going to be stuck in this sort of passive limbo of being Fine but not necessarily happy, healthy but not necessarily Thriving, etc Forever, n what he gets from RC is somebody who HASN’T been jaded by an ableist and hypercapitalist society yet. who, instead of looking at him and seeing a guy who missed the chance to do anything with his life due to trauma and addiction and whatever, sees somebody who survived so much and has the drive and willpower to do literally whatever he wants and plenty of time left to do it.

obligatory bucky riding motorcycle again scene. idk what he wants to do with his life but he’ll do it by god. maybe he wants to be a mechanic and open his own shop, maybe his parents left him money and he’d always just figured he’d let it sit until he died. idk yet.
