In related news, I finally updated the Zorlok demo. Not with anything major—just finally corrected the information at the end about the next release, made a few minor changes, and changed the itch.io page description to make it visually shorter.

2.) The version of the prologue that I'm actively working on is very much a WIP at this point and I didn't think (until tonight) to just download the version on Itch.io and make changes to that. Before, I kept putting it off because I kept finding more stuff I wanted to add/fix. That will be coming soon though. Stay tuned, friends! :)

You met Jenna at the set of the Netflix series Wednesday for Season 2. You had the role being her partner in crime, which created a great bond between you two. It did start as a friendship but it quickly developed into more than that and with you just starting in the Industry and Jenna being in the upbringing, both of you didn't want to mess that up, so keeping it private was a good decision.

Now being less busy and having time to just lay around and do nothing, you go on TikTok to waste time. When you didn't find any good videos to laugh about, you decided to start a TikTok live. You did send a quick text to Jenna, that you were going live on TikTok, so she could time her homecoming. You didn't bother to look if she saw it, you just went on and click the Live button. At first, you were sitting on the couch looking like a couch potato, you proceed to ask incoming viewers what to do.

They suggested a lot of things like singing, dancing, turning on some music, telling stories, or cooking. Turning on some music didn't sound bad, so you did. You started bopping to the beat and seconds after you were having a party in your living room. The little party did make you hungry so you told the viewers you'll cook something. You walked into the kitchen, still bopping your head to the music. You took out a ramen noodle package from the cabinet. You swiftly took a little pot and filled it with water, then put it on the stove. While waiting for the water to boil, you stared at your phone trying to read and answer all the comments.

"What is it like to work with Jenna Ortega?", your smile was from ear to ear.

"Well, she's incredible to work with. Her professionalism is remarkable. I mean come on guys! Before I got the role in Wednesday, I was a fan and still am!", you say, still having that smile on your face.

"Talking about me?", you flinched at the voice and at the arms that are wrapping around your torso. You quickly cover the camera with your hand. The music was so loud and you were occupied answering questions, that you didn't hear her opening the door. She intended to give you a quick kiss and hide but didn't mean to make a loud smacking noise. Both of you cringed at the noise and prayed that the viewers of your TikTok live didn't hear it. You could feel the vibration of your phone and you could tell that your TikTok live is exploding.

Jenna dashed into your room to hide and you continue your TikTok live, as if nothing happened, but your viewers didn't stop spamming.

"Who's with me?", you looked behind you messing with them. "Can you see stuff that I can't see?", you asked them and took the phone to show them around the apartment. "See there's no one", you show them every corner of the kitchen and living room. "My room?", you hoped that Jenna heard you standing in front of your bedroom door. When you opened it, you were glad she was already hiding somewhere. You showed them a quick tour around your room, not showing your desk where a lot of Polaroid pictures of you and Jenna were hanging, but you showed them your balcony where no one was hiding. You left the room swiftly and entered the kitchen, where your now cold water again was waiting. You let your TikTok Live run until you finished with your instant ramen and bragged about how good it looked, then you said your goodbyes and turned it off.

As soon as you turned it off, you called for Jenna. You see her peeking out of your bedroom, you snorted and called her over. She skipped over to one of the high chairs and took a sit in front of you. You smiled at her and pushed the bowl with newly cooked ramen to her. She gladly took it and started sipping on the soup with a spoon.

Well, you did expect fans to record your TikTok Live and made their conspiracy theories about what happened in your Live yesterday. The camera did capture Jenna's arms wrapping around you, so many of the clips you saw on TikTok were comparing it with Jenna's and other potential celebrities. Some of the girls that were compared were off-charts because you don't even know them or you only saw them at some awards show and had a little interaction. Then some videos are so accurate that you felt stalked or someone installed a camera in your apartment.

You immediately dismissed that thought, because you don't want to make yourself paranoid. You turned off your phone and turned your attention to the beautiful girl sitting beside you watching one of her favorite movies.

"This is the best part of it.", she says pointing at the TV while munching on her popcorn. "Yeah?", you reply, not looking where she's pointing at. She turned her head to you with a glare. "You're not even watching.", she says. "I am. I am watching the best part of my life right now.", you say starting to laugh because it sounded better in your head than out loud. "You just didn't say that.", Jenna scrunched her nose as she cringed at your attempt to be romantic. "Yup. I just said it. My baby. My sugarplum. My everything.", you added and engulfed her in a tight hug as she cringes more at your statement.

What's up, everyone!

First of all, the follower count for this blog seems to be glitched, so I'm only 95% sure that the following paragraph is correct. But anyway...

This blog has reached and surpassed 1000 followers, which is kinda insane. Never really expected this collection of my weird little stories would get a large following, and certainly not this fast. And I'm so damn grateful for that.

Especially for all the positive messages you bros sent me. It's such a great feeling when you realize there's a whole community of people that share interests and kinks with you. Thanks for every DM, it's really cool to see a notification about a new message, appreciate that very much.

So I come here with gratitude. Thanks for all the support bros, stay tuned for what's coming next! There are quite a few hot (in my personal opinion) ideas sitting in my drafts, there are sequels and longer stories and more musky jocks and soldiers coming.

When writing to me, please be... fairly specific. Come with more than one sentence. If you want to give me a vague idea, you can just send me an ask. Try to also approximate the length of the story, check out my other writing to get a sense of how much detail and story can fit into 500 words.

These are my red lines - things, themes, kinks I will not write about because I'm not comfortable working with them. This is not a value judgement - I am not saying that any of those things are bad, that you should feel bad if you get off to stories that include them. With that in mind, the list includes:

And about explicit writing: for now I will not write stories that include explicit scenes, that is characters fucking, you know what I mean. The reasons for this are twofold: I'm not sure in my ability to deliver writing that will be satisfactory in that regard AND it is a grey area when it comes to taking payments for that type of content. So for now its a no, bros.

Pricing:

My base rate is 3 EUR for every 100 words. That translates to 15 EUR for 500 words, 30 words for 1000 words, and so on.

The payment is upfront, the size of which will be decided before I begin writing based on what you'll want and what we will decide your idea needs. The payment will be made through the "commission" section of my Ko-Fi page (https://ko-fi.com/mrrharper). Other information:

Please, take into account that I have a life outside of Tumblr. I have a family and friends to foster relations with, classes to go to, papers to write. Hey, I'm Alai. I'm a queer Venezuelan girly, mid-20's, looking to become more active in the writeblr community. Some of my other interests include philosophy, Greek mythology, all sciences (I have an Honors degree in Laboratory Medicine!) and everything to do with the Classics.

The Paradox of Nonchoice (Adult Fantasy/Romance)

Summary: Nahia is an angel who, after years of studying human culture and behavior in the heavenly realm of Zion, is finally sent to Earth on her first assignment: to grant the deepest desire of the first person she meets. With the support of her mentor and sisters, along with a promise to reunite with her mother should she succeed, the stage is set for God's newest angel to carry out His word. However, when Nahia learns that her ward – a disillusioned handywoman by the name of Rory – wants something she isn't altogether prepared to give, the indentured angel must decide whose orders to follow: if God's, or her heart's. Note: there's a TON more to this plot, I promise!! But unfortunately, any particulars I may give would constitute an absolutely gargantuan spoiler lol. Tropes: soulmates, forced proximity (kinda if you squint), co-workers to lovers (squint a bit more just trust me lmao), absolutely rancid sibling dynamics, mommy issues, daddy issues, crisis of faith, Everything Is A Lie Nothing Is Sacred, loser women cringefailing, "ah, you're one of them queers", The Catholic Church. Arknights - Zwillingstürme im Herbst Event (Day 1)

HEY, Zwillingstürme im Herbst is here and I CANNOT pronounce a single of the German words they are using, I think I might just end myself here. For some reason, the update was loading extremely slowly, but it was long enough to get us through those pesky 10 minutes we had to wait until the server was open.

On the flip side, we have a bunch of cool new things to look at and a reason to rewatch the trailers and cinematics + review the music that comes with the event.

Warning: The following content goes over obvious stuff about the event and the characters that I plan on working on + my personal ideas for who is useful in what way.

At the END of the post is a guide for the music tunes you need for the interrogation event. As far as I have gotten at least.

Since it's Arknights' sixth celebration event we expect a LOT of content, a long story, probably a daily check-in for missions inside the event itself and much more. The banner for Viviana and Virtuosa Arturia (being the Limited operator) lasts a whole three weeks, with every day carrying a single free pull.

Oh the joys of saving for Zuo Le and Logos knowing that I really do want Viviana is a bittersweet sensation. I'm going to get Lessing today at least, so we can be content the husband team stays strong.

Not to forget the free 10-pull we get along, which got me a single Baseline.

When it comes to the videos and PVs we got, they're actually an insane amount in comparison to other events. Of course, the anniversary has something to do with that, but it's also because the characters we are getting and the story that is meant to unfold is very important to the Arknights world.

I watched this just now for the first time and it's equally horrifying to see the Aegir, charming to see her get along with kids, saddening since I know this is her at her mother's funeral and also it makes me absolutely insane to think that I feel anything but resentment for her and everything she's done to Ebenholz and Kreide.

I know she is going to make a huge mess in Leithanien again, I know it.

I feel a little smitten for the reason we are getting an ENTIRE introduction to the University. I can't even imagine how it's going to come to play inside the story itself. But I am glad that there's more embracing of the regional tongues now.

Fondly, I was reminded the other day how I started playing when there was only the Chinese and the Japanese (and Korean?) voiceover. Now there is German, Italian, Russian along with the English.

How... Unfortunate, we might never be able to hear French.

As far as I'm familiar, I think Ripples is meant to be the music for both the Candleknight and Arturia.

There is this video that isn't on YT but it's on the Arknights Twitter page, so I'm going to link it anyways for anybody who wants to see enamel pin-like designs of Bassline, Arturia and the others. It's basically character showcase but in some different form.

I love the character intros but more than anything I enjoy reading Travel Guides because this means these places are going to be super important to the lore itself and I am EXCITED!!!

Most of the enemies are very easy to deal with as long as you know the base mechanic and don't get too taken away by the music. The ones with a purple sphere on their heads need EXCITED music to neutralize their special skill and those with a yellow star need MELANCHOLIC music to calm down.

Long story short, the Tuning Nodes need to be all active at the same time and the place where you see that jellyfish shield is the place you need to avoid placing operators because they just won't do anything for the Node itself.

Attack Speed gained from the Exciting music is stackable for your operators. I don't know to what point, but Dr. Pinkie was having a blast learning this last night.

Speaking of the characters and Baseline specifically, he's a Lupo from Leithanien, appointed in the year 1100 (the year the story is set in as well) as a sort of mediator between RI and the Leithanien Imperial court. He's uninfected and his role is Defender, specifically Guardian aka Medic Defender. Real name Michael Wolfgang, tiniest Schatz because he's only 160cm tall and pretty much the same size as Greyy-alter me thinks. Birthday is on the 16th of July.

From what I imagine, I can use him instead of Nearl/Gummy or Spot since his Skill 1 heals operators only if they are under 50% and his Skill 2 stops attacking and concentrates on healing + gives the ally a shield.

I haven't done the speed/strength comparisons to Nearl but VS Gummy, his skill 1 charge is 6 seconds and the difference is only 20% additional healing at M3 for a cost of an additional 1DP at all E stages.

To me, that's good enough to exchange honestly if you're looking for more tankiness due to his Talent.

If we overlook the cost of maxing out a 5-star in comparison to a 4-star.

AND NOT TO MENTION HIS TOKEN IS--- I mean, if you insist I have it, sure, but I feel like the mouthpiece of any instrument is important to the player in their own way... right?

Lessing is the free 6-star operator you get in the event by competing the missions in Herzenfolgen. It's unlockable after you finish stage ZT-2 and it comes with 3 (technically 4) characters you can get event materials from including Lessing's Potential.

He's a Guard, specifically a Dreadnought (or as it's also popular - a Duelist Guard) whom I immediately am looking at as FINALLY there is something I can use instead of Melantha when I get asked for someone of that type. You'd think that out of all the guards I do have already there's going to be someone who does as much damage as Melantha and equal in health, but no.

Since Mel is a 3-star character and only reaches level 55 E1, I'm going to compare them like this: Lessing does more damage, has more health and defence than Melantha. His Redeployment time is 10 seconds more than her though.

Skill-wise Lessing's Skill 1 is an Offensive Recovery (charges itself when hitting enemies) like Hoederer's that does additional damage on the charged strike sans health regen.

Skill 2 is like a buff on his first talent: Pain Focus (this is at E1) - When blocking, take 20% less Physical and Arts damage from enemies not blocked by this unit. So that means that at lvl 7 of his skill you apply the maths that I am NOT going to math myself. At least not while Dr. Pinkie is sleeping to check them for me. When deployed, 1st Talent effect increased to 2x, ATK +35%, and attacks become 2-hit combos. His Skill 3 is what people get him for: Become immune to Negative Statuses, HP +80%, and attacks deal 180% ATK as Physical damage when attacking a blocked target Skill can be used when Operator is affected by a Negative Status, removing the status, but dealing 600 Arts damage to self.

So far as I can read while my Lessing is cooking in the training room - yes, you might be able to kill him if you use his skill and he's under 600HP.

My little Hoederer, big sword - big damage wielder. The only saving grace for Melnatha is that she's 13 DP at max potential while Lessing is 21. That's a lot to consider.

And of course, he is a cutie patootie in his letter, I'm crying.

Here is the guide offered by the Twitter page for the Herzenfolgen because otherwise, I could not grasp a single word of the explanations inside the event itself.

To explain it in simple terms:

Every day you get 3 people who will tell you a story and according to the information they give you, usually the important part is in red, you have to figure out what sort of emotion they have felt and then you have to align them to the 'desire' they have.

Making a mistake 2-3 times gives you the emotion and the 'desire' so it's not impossible to figure out, but it's a lot of experimenting as well until you get both right. And the notes you get are exhaustable, so you need to farm for them to know.

Dr. Pinkie also told me yesterday that the cards you DO manage to use also disappear.

Whenever you complete the day you get an Authorization Warrant to unlock the case-related characters and then you get a pot for Lessing every time you finish those.

You get 2 a day actually I think. Since I already managed to squeeze 4.

Here's all the emotions since some of the guides I found kind of misnamed the emotions and I had to spend a long while staring to get it to actually work.

TO GET THE FINAL ONE: DIE REISE (Tomorrow's Opus) you just have to complete all of the main interrogation nodes.

Your second class wasn't supposed to start for another fifteen minutes, but you really didn't have the energy to get out of bed. You hated that you only had one day off work, sure your job was alright, but using your other day off as the day to schedule all your classes was really not the move, because now you didn't want to attend the lectures. The text that popped up on your phone didn't help focusing much either. Why was he texting you? Did he want you to come in on your day off?

Logan 🐺:

Hows school nerd?

“Weird” You said aloud, laughing to yourself as the small adrenaline rush of having to come in dissipated.

You:

Not exactly better than work, but not worse 

Logan 🐺:

I can always call you in for an ‘emergency’ haha

You:

No thanks! Lol

Next thing you knew your phone was flooding with sad cat memes about school. Your face quickly started to ache from laughing so much. 

Logan 🐺:

Don’t tell the boss im memeing on company time

Oh, yeah… guess I am ;) 

It was so bizarre seeing this side of him. In just a week he had gone from this “quiet shift lead that no one really wants to talk to” to “coworker that you look forward to working with everyday” to now, acquaintances? Friends? You didn't really know. It was hard for you to draw lines between stages of friendship at work. Maybe he was just being nice to make you feel more comfortable around him? 

Logan 🐺:

So… what class are you in right now?

You:

Just about to start music theory

You turned the screen off on your phone and tried your best to pay attention during your lecture, but you couldn't shake the nervous energy you had built up thinking about the next shift working with him. 

It didn't take long for the next workday to arrive. You had barely slept at all, staying up studying and trying to catch up in your other courses was beginning to take a toll on you. You arrived barely on time for your shift, quickly getting the usual updates from departing day staff before clocking in. You headed into the break room and set your things down before collapsing into the seat and catching your breath. You’d just barely remembered to grab your music theory notes and homework, collecting them in a rush and making you run just enough behind that you’d be late if you picked up food for the shift. At least you would be able to get some help from Logan tonight though and hopefully your next exam would go over better than the last. 

The day shift quickly finished up and clocked out. Logan seemed to be running a bit late, so once everyone else had clocked out and left you began the duties of the night. You were on your second rotation of letting dogs out when you heard his car pull up, so you didn't turn to look when you heard the backdoor open and a few more dogs run out. You continued playing with one of the more shy dogs that was boarding for the night and watched to make sure everyone was getting along.

“Hey there.” You felt a warm hand on your back, a sharp contrast with the bite in the cold fall air. You tried to ignore the nagging feeling in the pit of your stomach acting up. 

“Oh hey!” a slightly-too-loud laugh falling from your lips. 

“I stopped at Starbucks and got us some coffee.” An uneven smile painted his face, making him look almost comical with his cold bitten nose and pale skin, along with those signature dark circles under his eyes. 

“Oh wow, thank you! I was running late and wasn't able to stop for anything today.” You smiled and accepted the warm cup and took an eager sip, grateful to have some caffeine for the night. 

“Oh huh, perfect timing I guess? You're welcome.” He chuckled and offered a smile just as warm as the cup in your hands. “I can order some food or snacks later too.” He took a sip of his own cup and huffed, his breath forming a small cloud in front of him due to the freezing temperature. As much as you despised the cold and how it made your already poor circulation in your hands feel like pins and needles, you did really love the aesthetics of it: the clouds of breath, the way it made faces redden, the smell that was draped across everything the night before a big thunderstorm or heavy snowfall, the oversized hoodies and layered outfits that everyone seemed buried in, big boots with chunky socks- it was all very comforting in a way, it seemed to round out the edges in a very sharp world.

The night went by much the same as it began. There was a very comforting feeling about the weather and the mood that you were both in, even the dogs seemed very subdued. Time seemed to go by a bit slower, which you happily welcomed after weeks of vigorous study. 

Though time seemed to be lulling along peacefully, you got your nightly duties done in record time. You blamed the unusually well behaved dogs. It wasn't long before you were both sitting at the front desk again, joking around and playing some light music. He hesitantly showed you a few of his favorite bands. You assumed his apprehension was from fear of judgment. Lucky for him, you both enjoyed darker, more melancholy music. 

You both listened to his Spotify playlist while he helped you on your coursework. You bopped along to several songs you recognized as he read through your work. BONES, Xavier Wulf, and several other artists played softly through the speakers. 

“Mm, yeah not this one…” You sheepishly laughed as you clicked skip on Cholesterol, not needing to feel too melancholic tonight. He merely chuckled and nodded with firm agreement. You were surprised by his knowledge about music, he helped you get through the entirety of your homework, as well as explained a bunch of the questions you’d missed on the last exam you brought with you. 

“How do you know all this? I feel like you know more than my professor honestly…” You laughed as you finished up the last question and shut your notebook. He’d managed to explain everything all in a way that was actually making sense to you. He’d even related back to songs that played out softly on the speakers and used them as examples to the concepts. 

“I sincerely fucking doubt that…” He chuckled tiredly. “I just- know music I guess… I spend a lot of time with and around it, I uh-  I’ve even made a couple songs myself…” You smiled as you caught the red tint on his heated cheeks.

“Wait really?” You gave him a surprised look. 

“Yeah, I don’t know if they're any good, but I like making them.” He shrugged and passed you the keyboard  and mouse to play music. 

“Can I hear one?” You pried, making him slump into his chair further and groan softly.  

“Ahh I don’t know, y/n…” He huffed and rolled his eyes playfully. “I haven't really shown anyone, but I guess if you promise to not make fun of me…” he turned slightly and narrowed his eyes at you, “...or tell anyone here-  maybe I’ll bring my computer next time or something…” 

“Hmm, we’ll see…” You squinted back, jokingly challenging him before laughing.

“I’ll write you up I swear to god y/n…” He joked back, laughing along with you.

so basically i started off august decently solid, working on gemini heist while andromeda rogue was off being torn apart by the betas. (i'm joking. it didn't get torn apart. i think you guys were being way too nice actually.)

and then all kinds of shit hit the fan in my personal life all at once in mid-august. both good and bad. it was a lot.

anyways the first half of september was spent recovering from all that, BUT i took a week off work mid-september to catch my breath and also get back into writing, and it was really good for me.

on another note! i am very seriously considering making an etsy shop for some of my art, because as much as i loathe the thought of monetizing my hobbies, we are living in a cost of living crisis, and i don't wanna be in my ice water soup era forever, ha. anyways stay tuned. (and if you think it would be a good idea/you think yourself or others would be interested in buying things PLEASE LET ME KNOW. EXPLICITLY. because otherwise i will assume no one cares and the idea will fizzle out.)

i went through all the beta comments during my week off and while i am glad it doesn't look like i'll have to do any more BIG rewrites, editing sucks and i want to give up.

honestly when i was working on this feels sooo long ago i don't even remember what there is to say?

i hit 20K at some point in august. i think.

OH YEAH i "finished" act 2/7. the quotation marks are because i absolutely did not finish it, i only finished writing all the main plot-relevant scenes and skipped anything else. which means there's like a whole chapter and a half that haven't actually been written bc they're probably gonna be exposition or character building stuff that i haven't figured out yet and i'm hoping will be easier once i know what actually happens in the rest of this story. (reminder that i am a plantser.)

anyways i suspect this wip will be going dormant again for a while as i focus on getting AR ready for publishing. (sidenote it's been over a year since i started the GH draft and i feel like i've done fuck all on it besides come up with useless lore and make extremely specific playlists. world's slowest writer. the playlists slap, though.)

Somewhere far, far, away, Leo was shouting, “Just get your ass out of there, Li!” but her voice seemed muffled in Euna’s ears, blocked out by the rage that had been steadily mounting ever since that guard shot her arm and ruined the fight for her. All she could hear was the blood rushing through her own ears, the buzz of the guard’s electrified gauntlets, the crackle of the electricity in her own hand. She reared her good fist back and slammed it into the guard’s face. Their nose made a sickening crunch against Euna’s knuckles. Blood flowed down over their mouth and chin as they staggered back, but Euna wasn't done. Her right arm, still spouting sparks, swung into the side of their head, finally bringing them down. Before they could get up again, Euna dropped on top of them, pinning them to the ground with her knees on their chest. She grabbed their shoulders and yanked their upper body off the floor, preparing to slam them down one last time— Purple light surrounded her. For a frightening second, she couldn’t move. Then she was thrown off the guard and dragged, upside-down, through the air towards the exit.

after reading other peoples experiences, ive gotta talk about something that ive noticed is a pretty common thing amongst certain types of kin servers. and thats just… blacklists that are both user compiled and extremely strict.

this never made sense to me. especially if said blacklist is 400 miles long and has some of the wackiest shit on it. i actually still have access to the one from kin walmart, here are some of my favs:

- the word “bounce”

- the phrase “bouncing ball”

- mother mentions (all forms: mom, mother, etc)

- oranges (the fruit)

- school/mentions of schoolwork

- therapy

- Talking about private conversations/going to have a private conversation in a public setting

- any mention of the ocean

im also going to say, blacklists are fine. user compiled blacklists are okay but… i think there should be a better way to manage them. especially in spaces that have 100+ members. no hate to anyone who has these triggers either. i just think that there’s a line. there should be a line. and most times, ive found that the line is nonexistent. it should be up to user’s specifically to adjust their experience accordingly. im so sorry that i want to talk about the bouncing ball i stole from dollar general, maybe just dont read the conversation.

i understand that this take can be somewhat controversial, its why i don’t… talk about it without hiding behind anonymity. but i think, especially in kin spaces, blacklists are almost… idk.. taken advantage of?

NO YOU'RE SO RIGHT IS THE THING. there is a point where you need to be responsible for yourself and not place the responsibility/blame on others for not remembering every trigger on a mile long blacklist. you have to know when to step away from a conversation if there's a topic that triggers or upsets you, not demand everyone else conform to You. especially if it's extremely specific (such as the bounce example you gave) or extremely vague and frequently mentioned (moms, school, etc.). there's a lot of issues with those kinds of things and if you're in a Public space with lots of people, you gotta be responsible for your own well-being. it's different if it's a smaller group of friends, of course. there's a difference between 'friends' who continuously overstep your boundaries/comfort and large servers where people are just going to make general discussion about whatever.

the amnt of servers ive been in w mile-long user-compiled blacklists where people throw a gd Fit if you so much as allude to one of the 5000 "problematic medias" theyve put on the bl.... ok not that much actually cuz im thinking of one example in particular i was in multiple servers w. but you know. and a lot of shit can just be like. squicks or stuff they don't like, rather than something that will genuinely trigger them.

i swear some kinnies just can't manage big servers in general. once i was in a server of at Least 100 members - that was not even a kin server, it was for smth else but had a lot of kinnies - where there weren't any like, actual chat moderators (just some ppl who had permissions for unrelated reasons). there was a user-compiled blacklist that was rarely updated w requests, and one day out of boredom & frustration with the lack of organization, i went and sorted the long ass list by Category and Alphabetically. i was not even a mod i just DID THAT. the admins of that server sucked so bad they didn't know how to manage anything and were generally some of the worst people on the planet.

1. What’s your favourite sims death?

I always thought Death by Flies was particularly brutal and acted as a good incentive to not let your slobs get too... slobby. I am glad they brought it back for Sims 4.

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

I consider myself to be pretty strictly maxis match. It just makes the game feel like its own world, instead of ours. Though, I do like to use makeup and eye from alpha creators. Plus my game barely runs on my poor laptop, so alpha cc is kind of like a forbidden fruit for my game.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?

I have a mod that makes it so sims don't gain muscle or weight at all. Though, the majority of my sims have their weight set to like 75% ish and I still think they look too skinny...

4. Do you use move objects?

Unplayable otherwise.

5. Favorite mod?

I swear by roBurky's Meaningful Stories Mod and weerbesu's UI Cheats Extension. If I had to play with only the bare minimum of mods, these would be the two that I pick.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?

When I was a kid, I played the MySims games, MySims Agents, specifically. When I went to go look up more Sims games, I found Sims 2 and had my mom buy Sims 2 Seasons. I did not realize it required the basegame until it was too late.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?

I say it like aLIVE. I guess in my mind it's like LIVE television or LIVE streaming a game. It makes sense in my brain at least.

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

It is illegal to make me choose. Though, I might make a post soon that just a bunch of random sims I have made in CAS and a brief description of their stories I never played out. Stay tuned.

Ever since I started playing Sims, I have always made a simself. Though, when I was younger, the sim was like a projection of what I wanted to look like and now my simself is what I look like. For the most part. He needs some updating.

10. What sim traits do you give yourself?

Probably Creative, Art Lover and Perfectionist for Sims 4 traits. In Sims 3, probably Artistic, Couch Potato, Cat Person, Perfectionist and Supernatural Fan. That about sums me up.

11. Which is your favorite EA hair color?

This would be easier to ask my LEAST favorite color would be the true black swatch because half of the hairs just look gray. Favorite? Not really any, depends on the sim but most of my sims have the blue-black hair color.

Sims 2 peaked with this hairstyle. I tried to recreate it here in Sims 4 by combining cc, but it's not the same...

13. Favorite life stage?

Purely from a gameplay standpoint, it is Young Adult, but that is such a vanilla answer. Toddlers are up there. It would be Infants but I have yet to actually play with that life stage...

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

It's about equal tbh. Depends on my mood.

Perhaps.

Each game has things that I like and don't like. Gameplay wise, Sims 2 100%. Building and CAS, Sims 4. I have not touched Sims 3 in a hot second but I would love to revisit it again. Sims 1 is at the bottom of the list, I only play that game for the novelty, tbh.

No, but I do own a plumbob headband for when me and my girlfriend dressed up as Bella and Mortimer a few years ago.

Hello hello lovelies! I hope everyone is having a good week so far. This post will be kind of long (sort of) as it will contain some updates and whatnot so check below the cut!

First and foremost welcome to my new followers! I’m glad that me and my sims interest you enough that you hit that follow button lol 🤣 I hope I can keep you all interested in my upcoming content and previous content. ☺️

NOW! let’s get down to business. I’d like to first apologize for the lack of posting. Before, I was posting several times a day. During that time, I was out of a job so I had A LOT of free time however, I now have TWO jobs and I’m also a single mom to 2. I just wanted to clarify that for my new peeps. With that being said, my time is VERY limited. The only time I really get to play is on the weekends and usually it’s late night. So my posts will usually be done pretty late but at least you all will have something to look forward to when you wake up! ☺️ Or if you reside in a different time zone, you’ll have something to look forward to during your lunch break, or when you get home etc.

I post mostly pictures of sims I create because I LIVE in CAS 🤣 I was a Barbie lover as a child and had TONS of Barbie stuff and LOVED to play dress up. So being in CAS is like playing Barbie to me (adult style) lol. However, I do posts random shots of my gameplay from time to time.

If you couldn’t tell, I have a story in the works called Forever in San Myshuno. It will be based around 4 women who are best friends who go throughout their early adulthood and of course there will be DRAMA. I was a huge fan of the show Friends and so I was kind of inspired to make a story of that caliber. I really want to execute the first episode of that story really well so I’ve been taking my time and preparing for it hence why it’s taking quite a while for the first post. I have to give you storytellers props because it’s A LOT of work trying to get everything set up like jobs, and placing lots and finding everything that’s needed. But I am REALLY excited to share the first post.

SO with that being said as well, the first episode to Forever in San Myshuno will be out on Saturday, 9/16/23!

SPREAD THE WORD! ITS FINALLY HAPPENING!! 👏🏾👏🏾

Yes! It is FINALLY happening! I will spend the better part of Friday night taking screenshots and editing and everything in between and the first post will be live on Saturday! Again, I post late night since I’m usually busy with my kids during the day so expect that first episode to be out late Saturday night. I’m REALLY excited as I have wanted nothing more than to finally play and get this first episode out! And though I haven’t played with them, I’m growing an attachment to my main OC’s.

I hope you all will enjoy the first episode and know that I am NOT a pro with editing and whatnot and I’m still trying to find my “style” of storytelling so I will be asking for feedback as I want it to be easier for you all to read whether it be on mobile or desktop or any other device.

I will also try and post shots of the characters apartments along with the gallery ID of the creators. I want to try and do that BEFORE the first episode but if not then it will be a bit after the first episode.

As for other gameplay screenshots, I will DEFINITELY be posting some of those as well. I have a couple of challenges that I’ve been playing that I’d like to keep playing such as the Joy of Life Legacy Challenge and the Not So Berry challenge (for the 100th time 🙄🤣). I also do have a YouTube channel and will be working towards getting the right equipment and set up so I can do LP videos for you all and maybe some CAS videos (something I REALLY have been wanting to do for a LONG time). But again, everything is a work in progress.

hello wanted 2 talk about a bunch of fun things from Thursday first show of War All The Time tour 2nite at the Town Ballroom in Buffalo (this will include setlist spoilers)

(starting with a random little video of title track, the rest of it is in the keep reading thingy)

- TURNPIKE DIVIDES FOR THE LAST SONG??? they let her see the light of day!!! i am probably the only person who has heard her at 2/3 of the thursday sets they have seen /lh

- geoff took the piss out of victory records for not paying bands while talking about how i'll be you & jbny are mirrors of each other then played them back to back (also described jbny as their heaviest song.... correct!!!)

- crowd was GREAT. great pits, surfing vibes, actually hell, vibes were just great all around.

- make sure you get there early so you can catch both many eyes & rival schools (steve (thursday) actually played for rival schools today which was cool). i thoroughly enjoyed both sets, and tonight honestly made me a fan of many eyes as a project. i wasn't sure what to expect receptionwise from a buffalo crowd [insert every time i die lore] but everyone showed up for keith (buckley, former singer of etid)/them. i also thought he/they did great, and he seemed genuinely humbled. also saw him around after the show, bro was loading out merch so i didn't wanna bother him, but yeah, dude seemed chill. really enjoyed the songs as well, i'll be spinning them and staying tuned for future releases for sure.

- between that set, everyone just feeling like a true community all night, & a cameo from a local scene legend (if you know hardcore, the singer of terror/buried alive was watching sidestage all show, keith shouted him out hahaha), let's just say i felt like how i'd imagine patriotic americans feel when they hear the national anthem, but the western new yorker edition.

- between rupture and rapture & division st. were probably my favorite non big singles. so great to hear watt in full dude and the crowd was very engaged the whole time

- one thing that really sucks is geoff explained as they came out that pretty much all their instruments randomly got stolen right before they left for tour, so they were a little panicky and stuff but basically, nothing was gonna stop them from having a good time in buffalo (paraphrased). apparently when they were sorting out the tour routing a while back someone told them they should start in toronto but they were like, nah dude, we want to start in buffalo. back to my western ny patriotism analogy, i see. anyways, now that's what i call resilience. they put on a great performamce with such great energy, you can tell this is a band that truly loves doing this whole thing. support the guys extra hard this run.

- as the opening bit of understanding started i looked back at the carnage going on in the giant pit that was open at the moment and had to just. smile at That being a moment people were crowdkilling each other to /lh

- i brought my (digital) point & shoot and shot from the crowd! very stoked on those as i was quite close all show, will update with those once i edit em! will probably also be posting a review kinda thing on my site/ziney thing once i get that back up and published

- one final thing that haunts me is the wonder of what geoff was talking about here in this instagram story post from earlier. i even stuck around after the show (which ended around 10:30) in case... i don't know, thursday were to fly out of some sort of confetti cannon at 11 pm sharp, i have no idea, dude. someday i will ask geoff about Minds Blown - 11.00pm

anyway, every time i've seen thursday this past year of having the joy of really knowing their music (i'd heard of them of course just through being in the scene for years, but had just never listened then) thursdayband has come 2 mean more and more to me and i truly hope they never stop playing together as long as it makes them happy <3

Writing/Art Update 7/11/2023

Last week I mentioned that I felt like I wasn't getting anything done and felt very swamped. This week, I did a lot of things, but then more things piled up on top of them. Also, and I will admit this, I simply have not been very productive.

The big thing I did last week was to help set up a frog tank for my daughter. She really wanted some African dwarf frogs. At the time it came up, she wasn't good at keeping her room clean, and we told her that if she could prove that she could be responsible by cleaning her room, and she did it?? I mean, we helped her develop some good habits around this, but the motivation was all her (and the frogs). Anyway, we spent a lot of time researching and procuring stuff and rinsing substrate, and now the tank is all set up, and we are trying to coax it to start cycling before we can get the frogs. I have never had a fish tank so far, so this was all...an adventure for me. We did get a snail, and I just found out that we probably should have waited for the tank to cycle before getting the snail and we're unfortunately all very attached to it so, uh....pray for my snail, okay, guys?

This is not supposed to be a frog update, this is supposed to be a writing and art update. I posted one of each last week, both for the Bleach Returns Celebration. My art project, on the topic of Shinigami and their Hobbies, went over surprisingly well, so a big thank you to everyone who threw me a like. The fanfic was a Renruki Friends-to-Strangers-to-Not Exactly Enemies, but Not Too Far From It short piece. AO3 is back up, just in case you wanted to go leave me a comment. (I am so behind in my AO3 correspondences, it's on the To-Do list, I'm sorrrrrrryyyyy 😭😭😭)

Anyway, the To Do list goes on, but it had been two weeks since I wrote anything and my brain was threatening to eat itself, so I let myself get even more behind today in favor of writing 1,673 words about Rikichi. (I didn't really want to put Rikichi in this fic, but then I felt horrible about it and that it was Rikichi erasure, so I had to introduce this entire thing to explain why Rikichi is not in this fic, but it has some character growth for him, and marginally feeds into my long term goal to explain how a twink with USB cables in his hair managed to make Third Seat of Squad Six. Look. I am having a lot of anxiety right now, this is the most harmless possible form of it). It feels good to be back making progress on Ductwork again (we are up to 17,199 words), mostly because I want to read it, and for some stupid reason, this requires me to write it, first.

I am very, very close to an important follower milestone and it is my birthday this weekend, so I'm thinking of doing a very self-indulgent, but low-effort celebration. Stay tuned!!

Devlog 4- Post RGS and Art Stuff!

Welcome back to another Studio Inc.omplete devlog! I’m Ivy, lead writer and de facto head of marketing for Night of the Delivering Dead. This past weekend we went to the Rensselaer Games Showcase, an event held by RPI’s Game Dev Club to show off student games. We had an updated demo with fog of war up for playtesting, and we were able to get a ton of really useful feedback. We had a few bugs that we’ll need to work out, but we’ll get that posted for you to play as soon as it's in a slightly more playable state. While we were there, we were also looking for art feedback. We’re still trying to iron out a few decisions, primarily whether we keep using the pixel shader or not and what art style we go with for the card art. You can find that survey here, any feedback you have for us is welcome!

After this we won’t have another major event until March when we’ll be going to PAX East and (maybe) GDC, so we’ll be shifting into hard production mode over the next few months. We may be a bit quieter on devlogs while we’re heavily working on stuff. But, with all that being said, I’ll turn it over to artists to share what they've been working on!

Hey all, it’s Ghost, the lead 2D artist, coming at you with an update on the progress we’ve been making on our visual style. Over the past few weeks I’ve been spending a lot of my time focusing on how we can make every aspect of the game mesh well visually. It’s easy enough to design individual elements and call it a day, but it’s a separate beast trying to connect those elements.

To that end I dedicated time to making a style sheet! For our team, it was important to figure out the color palette we wanted the game to mostly follow, as well as decide on line weight, shading, all the various things that I should keep in mind when I work. This was a huge help in solidifying the foundation for our visual identity, and it’s a reference I’ll use up until the very end. If something seems to be deviating from the style we’ve set, the first thing we should ask is if there’s a good reason for it to do so. If not, then we can correct it and that way nothing feels clashing to look at!

The other thing I’ve begun to work on is our cards that you’ll use to control your various undead summons! You’ve amassed quite the repertoire of spells during your time in college, but it’s hard recalling them from memory, so it’s a good thing you’ve written them all down in your notebook! It also means being reminded of all your doodles, messages, and scribbles you made while bored in class.. Unfortunately it seems that we’ve misplaced the pages these sketches are supposed to go on, but we can still show them off for now. Hopefully we’ll be able to find them in the future.

Hey! This is Ari, the 3D Artist for the game :) So far I have been working on some rough models to populate our map, and also working on a blockout for our character. All of these models have been made in Blender, and we’re using a shader in Unity to give them their pixel look.

The vibes for the map so far are spooky suburbia, so I have created some standard houses and other buildings that are most like things you would see in a normal town (along with a giant pumpkin tile, which is VERY realistic). Going forward I am going to be working more on the character models, reworking the current models we have, adding more types of houses/buildings, and creating smaller details like trees and other vegetation. That’s all we have for now, stay tuned for more!

Hey! This is to show what's coming next as I edit the chapters I made years ago. When I do officially make it to the last chapter I stopped at, updates will be slow since I will be back writing again but I'm excited to continue the story. If you are curious to see what's to come, here are the next set of chapters I will be working on. There are a few more chapters after this before I begin making new chapters but if you want to be surprised, go on ahead and just ignore this.

82: Misawa VS Manjoume -- The Assault Cannon Beetle

As a consequence of being the only one uninvited by the Society of Light, Misawa anxiously wonders if he is being thought of as weak.  He confronts Saiou himself, who says that he will leave the island if beaten in a duel, but Manjoume duels Misawa in his stead.  Manjoume fuses his three new Union Monsters to summon “Assault Cannon Beetle” (ATK/ 2800), using the Ojamas as bullets to reduce Misawa’s LP down to 1600.  Misawa’s intellectual “focus ahead” plays get him far, but...

83: Hell Kaiser Ryou VS Master Samejima

In search of a powerful, locked-away deck, Hell Kaiser Ryou pays a visit to his old Cyber Style Dueling Master--one Principal Samejima--and the teacher and student duel.  Ryou summons Cyber End Dragon right off the bat, but Samejima defends himself with a copy of his Monster.  Playing to the “soft and fair goes far” proverb, Samejima’s Cyber Ogre absorbs the ATK of Ryou’s Monster, its own ATK reaching 4000, but Ryou evades that using Cyber Laser Dragon.  Samejima snatches Ryou’s Cyber End Dragon with a Trap Card, leading to his final decisive moves...

Episodes 82 and 83 are now finalized! Misawa’s anxiety over the way he’s perceived leads him to join the Society of Light, while Ryou decides he’s come as far as he can with just Cyber End and visits his dojo-master-turned-Principal Samejima for some secret cards.  Manjoume’s Beetrons were actually neat, and while I’m sure I was doubtful of how Misawa joining the SOL made sense years back, I do think it does now given the context of Misawa’s wanting recognition and not being the odd man out (and Ed’s putting it into words also puts a different lens on his early Season 1 self).  For 83, admittedly the Cyber Style stuff does come a bit out of nowhere (the Japanese blog I reference for lines occasionally also thought so lol), but it’s believable enough for GX, and does give us some more background on Ryou’s childhood to juxtapose with his current “I only need victory, respect be damned” self.  Samejima finally making his return after Season 1 as his dojo master was also a bit cool, ngl, and hey, turns out he was working on our upcoming tournament arc!

Had a few animation/card and other quality-of-watching fixes I handled for each episode, hence the slight delay, and for 83′s hardsub, I also translated an article Shou was reading about Ryou’s rise as Hell Kaiser.  Details below the cut, as usual, for the curious.

Enjoy, folks--with these done and the GeneX arc about to start, I think the next release will just be episode 84 to set it up and also take a light breather, and then I’ll resume my catch-up double-releases with 85 and 86, which’ll coincide with an update to the OP (plus, that way I also don’t leave half of Judai vs Manjoume or Judai vs Asuka hanging on a cliff later lol).  Stay tuned!

Fixes/Edits! (82)

After Manjoume defeats Misawa’s three Ra Yellow dormmates, we see the Ojamas floating and lamenting how off Manjoume’s become--but after Ojama Green wonders what’ll happen to them now, there’s a quick frame as Ojama Black moves and crosses his arms in contemplation where his head from the previous frame is frozen in place on top of his now-moving head, before it’s gone and the shot’s normal again.  Fixed in Sony Vegas by holding the third frame, the first as Black starts to move, over the errored frame.

As Misawa confronts Saiou at the White dorm, after Saiou asks if he’s aware of what dueling the Society of Light would mean, Misawa acknowledges that he would join upon losing, but as he moves while asking what he gets for winning, he moves up in the shot and some of the background is visible under him (a similar error happened in ep. 60 as Asuka activated Ritual Weapon, where her hand slides into the shot but seems to float in front of her).  I fixed it here first, using the fix for the episode’s preview in 81, by just cropping the shot in Vegas such that none of the background is visible under Misawa.

Just before Misawa and Manjoume’s duel begins, Ojama Yellow tells Black and Green that they should cheer Misawa on.  The two are surprised, but there’s a quick frame, featuring a repeat of #1, where Black starts to move but his head is frozen in place above his now-turning head, and then in the next frame both Black and Green are turning.  I fixed it by holding the first linked frame here above the error frame in Sony Vegas; this holds Black and Green still for an extra frame, then has them move together in the frame after the error.

After Misawa draws for his second turn, he looks at the card he drew as he thinks about how good Manjoume’s deck has become with Saiou’s cards, but it actually looks like he’s holding two cards when he only drew the one.  Fixed first in Photoshop by painting over the line separating the “two” cards, then worked it into the footage in Vegas.

After summoning Assault Cannon Beetle, Misawa assumes Manjoume’s trying to play defense, only to have him slide in on a split-screen to say he’s activating Ojamandala--but before their split-screen splits to show Ojamandala activating, the shot first jitters to the left, and then as the split occurs, the split separation is a bit uneven with Manjoume’s side being further off the screen than Misawa’s in the quick frame before they’re both gone.  Fixed this in Vegas by first copying the first linked frame, just before the jitter, over it to hold it still, then I fixed Manjoume’s side of the split so that it was more even with Misawa’s.

As Saiou contemplates Misawa’s strategy and his having set cards to counter and deflect an attack from Manjoume’s Assault Cannon Beetle, Assault Cannon Beetle’s DEF-Mode card under it is reversed with the name box facing Manjoume’s right.  Fixed it in AfterEffects first by applying a proxy with it facing correctly (name box facing Manjoume’s left) on the first frame of the panning shot, masking ACB over it as needed, then taking that into Vegas and keyframing the fix into the footage over most of the 80 moving frames before holding it there until the second side of the split-screen with Misawa’s face-down cards covers it.

After Misawa thinks that he’ll win with a direct attack on his next turn, Manjoume draws for his turn, but there’s a quick few frames with Assault Cannon Beetle on his Disk being in Attack Mode by accident; it’s still in Defense Mode.  Fixed in AfterEffects by applying my proxy over it in Defense Mode.

As Judai and co. are running to the Duel Arena, we flash back to part of their conversation with Ed about Misawa, but during the un-Gaussian-Blurring transition into it, there are odd green bars surrounding the frame until the transition is done.  Fixed in Sony Vegas by slightly cropping the scene to keep the green bars out.

After a cut back to the duel, we cut back to the tail end of the above flashback, where Ed elaborates on why he thinks Misawa would still lose given the chance to win, but as the flashback ends and we Gaussian Blur things up to transition to more of Judai and co. running, a repeat of #8 occurs with more green bars appearing during the blurring around the frame.  Fixed the same way in Vegas by just cropping the scene. (Went to check, and the dub did fix these two similarly, too.)

Fixes/Edits! (83)

As Ryou and Samejima begin their duel, they slide in on a split-screen as their LP counters appear, but while Samejima slides in, it takes Ryou’s three frames to start sliding in.  Fixed in Vegas by editing and timing Ryou’s slide-in so that it slides in evenly with Samejima’s.

Two bits as Samejima notes the importance of Cyber End Dragon in the Cyber Style and Ryou’s earning it at just nine years old: first, as he then mentions that Ryou is the dojo’s rightful successor, Ryou slides in on a split-screen--but the shot of Samejima starts to move left first, then Ryou’s side starts to slide in in the next frame with a fair amount of it already visible.  Fixed in Vegas by first starting Ryou’s slide-in right as the shot of Samejima moves--taking the shot of Samejima and re-moving it for those few frames of the slide-in so that Ryou could slide over it--then sliding Ryou in a bit more evenly over a few of the frames until the split-screen is complete.  Then, the split-screen ends, but Samejima’s side is fully off the screen a frame before Ryou’s is; fixed in Vegas to time it evenly with Ryou’s.

Two bits after Ryou notes that he’s only here to duel for the Reverse deck: first, Samejima shouts out at him in frustration, and Ryou slides in on a split-screen to change the subject to his turn, but the first frame as his slide-in starts already has him mostly visible; fixed this in Vegas to more gradually slide him in over a still Samejima, accounting for the flame behind him with a masked-in recycled animation loop.  Then, as Samejima moves to activate his Cyber Shadow Guardna Trap Card, Ryou’s side of the split-screen takes longer than usual to slide off (usually the slides last 7-9 frames at most, from what I’ve seen); fixed this by first holding their split-screen for two frames (over where the slide-off started originally), then letting the slide-off play as it originally did for eight frames before then resuming the original video as Ryou’s side is 90% off-screen (doing this also let it match the SFX here a bit better).

As Samejima resolves his Scrap Fusion to grab Ryou’s Cyber Dragons from his Cemetery, the Cyber Laser and Barrier cards on his Disk look like this initially (note the black space next to Cyber Barrier’s card in Monster Zone 4 on the right); as soon as his Disk’s Cemetery slot lights up for the effect, the cards jitter to look like this (note that Cyber Barrier’s card looks good now, but there’s now a black space along the middle side of Cyber Laser’s as it’s now shifted a bit off-center).  Fixed this in Vegas by applying masks to use both cards’ best positions and keep them consistent, the first for Cyber Laser and the second for Cyber Barrier.

After Cyber Esper attacks and gets negated, as Samejima declares an attack with Cyber End Dragon, there’s a quick frame where the background behind him changes to the one being faded into in the very next frame.  Quick fix in Vegas by just holding the first linked frame over the errored frame so that the transition starts with the fading frame.

Ryou activates Ruthless Destruction (Denial) and explains its effect over a distant shot of him holding it from behind Samejima--except it’s not Ruthless Destruction he’s holding, but a Monster Card (I couldn’t tell which one at first, assuming Cyber Barrier since it’s about to leave the field, but in looking at it now, it does look like Cyber Esper).  Fixed first in AfterEffects by applying a proxy into his hand, masking on his fingers, then keyframing and moving that fix within the panning shot.

For the hardsub, as highlighted here, I took the article Shou was reading about Ryou’s rise as Hell Kaiser at the end of the episode and translated it. (You can read the full unobscured text of what I layered on in the linked post)

One animation error that’s outside of my “skillset” occurs as Samejima thinks about his plan were Ryou to try and get Cyber End back through Compulsory (Creature) Swap, as noted by Yugipedia (listed under Mistakes in the Dub, but it’s there originally too): he envisions Cyber End back on Ryou’s field, but Cyber Barrier is there with it--even though Ryou would’ve needed to put it on Samejima’s field in order to get Cyber End back, lol.
