My old art teach who taught me so much and helped me prepare my college portfolio now full on supportive of AI art and videos they even opened classes dedicated to it, they post oh so proudly of how fast the students in their ai class ‘improve’ and how ‘efficient’ they draw. They’re a great artist I looked up to them since middle school but now they don’t even draw anymore all they post is AI stuff because it’s “where the future is headed traditional art is not worth it anymore” I don’t know how to feel maybe disappointment but mostly just hollow

okay, you have a stoic character. That's cool. But does your stoic character have something they learn is worth fighting for? Something that drives them to open up little by little until it consumes them in a way they can't understand but still don't want to let go? Does your stoic have a personality where the world could be crashing and burning around them and they will barely flutter an eyelash but if the people they love are even slightly in danger they will shatter inside and run to them? Completely disregarding their own safety? Because who are they without the people/person they love? Can they shoot a bullet through a man without remorse but will wither seeing their loved one(s) in any pain? Would they rather bear all the world's problem's on their shoulders for the rest of their life than even let a needle prick their beloved? Because they learnt what it meant? To love and be loved? And now they have something worth fighting for? That they would give up all worldly possessions for?

so like. why is it that fandoms (COUGHninjago) will put so much effort into interpreting and re spinning a male characters (not even necessarily a main character) story to hell and back and turn them into a symbol of redemption or destiny or hope or loyalty or whatever the fuck, but a FEMALE character has to go above and beyond (CANONCALLY, might I add) writing and backstory wise to a get a fraction of that attention?

I think one of the wildest dimensions of the Tech's-death-was-poorly-handled conversation is like...

There is Never a mention of how the hunt for Omega is also the hunt for Crosshair (or, ya know... it should be anyway).

Like sure I'll buy the 'cut our losses, protect the family that's left' initial reaction to losing Tech but then Hemlock has Omega too and it's like...

IDK a way to honor Tech's sacrifice is to maybe think also about recovering the person you were trying to find during the mission that cost his life??? The mission Tech himself pushed for???

Omega gets taken and the emotional weight of the episode immediately pivots from Tech's death to oh-no-gotta-get-her-back but then *also* steps on the emotional weight of the whole reason they went to Eriadu in the first place and it's just ??? These things are all inter-related!

And then we just get *stink-eye glare* episode 4 ending like oh yeah that fucker lol. Whatever.

Wanting El to be happy when she obviously wants to be independent, when her arc is about family and not a relationship, when her arc is about growing into a person she wants to be (not hopper, not Mike, you.)

Wanting Mike to be happy, when his arc surrounds his guilt, and how he needs someone to need him in the same way he does them, and how El won’t ever fill that role

When Mike wants someone who needs him, and Will needs him

When Will needs someone who wants him, and Mike wants him

And when El and Mike can’t be what the other person wants

It seems obvious which way they’re gonna go
