Guarantee Of Loot:

I cannot put into words how happy I am today, my country has proven that hate politics will never be the answer, not at any cost.
I have hope for tomorrow and the days to come, after almost a decade of subtle oppression, the path leading us towards a facist and dictatorship state was blocked.
People of India have spoken, democracy is above all.
Mandir toh bana liya Modi ji, but ab khatre mei kaun hai? 🫶🏻

omg scrolling through desiblr rn is so toxic and that's obviously because of the election results that happened yesterday. before I rant abt leaders, I need to say that the results were really humbling and that's a big win for democracy all in all (doesn't matter if you rightist or leftist)
what's shocking around here is that people are being hindu-phobic in the names of secularism, name any other religion that would tolerate this in India!! and please you tell me that you see leadership in a person that says that he will remove a reservation bar! - as general category person, this is like carving my own death. I understand that the right wing has leaned into a dictatorship in the recent months but if the leftist with their long chain of alliance comes in power then development is going slow down- leaders own need for power and money is going to result in internal struggle (not to mention the long standing history of alliance never working in the longer run) I'm not a rightist, have learnt that everyone is going to exploit us at the end of the day but it's better to have a party in power that atleast cares about the common people instead of just coming in power

Hannah Ellis-Petersen at The Guardian:
Narendra Modi’s ruling Bharatiya Janata party has lost its parliamentary majority, dealing an unexpected blow to the prime minister and forcing him to negotiate with coalition partners in order to return to power. With all votes counted early on Wednesday morning, it was clear that the landslide for the BJP predicted in polls had not materialised and instead there had been a pushback against the strongman prime minister and his Hindu nationalist politics in swathes of the country. The party lost 62 seats, bringing its total down to 240, below the 272 required for a parliamentary majority. It is the first time since Modi was elected in 2014 that the BJP has not won a clear majority on its own. Nonetheless, together with its political allies, known as the national democratic alliance (NDA), its win amounts to about 292 seats, which is enough to form a majority government to rule for the next five years and return Modi to office for a third term.
Meanwhile, the opposition alliance, which goes by the acronym INDIA, far outperformed expectations, collectively winning more than 230 seats. The alliance, formed of more than 20 national and regional opposition parties, had come together for the first time in this election with the aim of defeating Modi.
Incumbent Indian PM Narendra Modi and his right-wing BJP won the most seats, but not enough to gain a majority on its own in the recent election in India. Modi is likely to remain PM, as his coalition partners National Democratic Alliance are likely to cobble a majority.

Modi claims victory in Indian general election, but falling support pushes for coalition
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced his alliance’s victory in the Indian general election, according to AP News.
He claimed a mandate to push his programme, although his party lost ground to a stronger-than-expected opposition. It opposed his controversial economic course and polarising policies.
Today’s victory is the victory of the world’s largest democracy.
Modi told his party’s headquarters on Tuesday that Indian voters had “shown immense faith” in both his party and his National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coalition.
Official results from the Indian Election Commission on Wednesday showed that the NDA won 294 seats. This is more than the 272 seats needed to win a majority, but still far less than expected. For the first time since its Hindu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power in 2014, it did not secure a majority on its own. In 2019, it managed to win a record 303 seats.
The Congress Party won 99 seats, improving its result from 52 in the 2019 elections. The Samajwadi Party also secured 37 seats in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, a major disappointment for the BJP. Meanwhile, the All India Trinamool Congress won 29 seats in the state of West Bengal and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam gained 22 seats in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.
The opposition INDIA coalition won a total of 232 seats. Milan Vaishnav, director of the South Asia Programme at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, stated:
At the very least, the result pricks the bubble Prime Minister Modi’s authority. He made this election about himself. Today, he is just another politician, cut to size by the people.

INDIAN ELECTION COMMISSION ANNOUNCES DATES FOR GENERAL ELECTIONS
The Election Commission for India announced on Saturday the dates for the coming General Elections, to be conducted in seven phases beginning on April 19th.
According to reporting on the announcement, more than 970 million Indians are expected to vote in the coming elections at over 1 million polling stations across the country.
Speaking at a Press conference covering the election scheduling, Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar, said elections will run through the 1st of June, with vote counting to be conducted on June 4th.
Acknowledging what he called "major challenges" posed by the elections, Kumar said the biggest concerns were with bribing, threats, misinformation and violations of the model code of conduct for elections.
Current Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who belongs to the Hindu Nationalist BJP Party, seeks a third term, facing a challenge from an alliance of more than two dozen Parties belonging to the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), led by the opposition Indian National Congress Party who held power from the time of the country's liberation from the British empire in 1947, until the BJP's first National election win in May of 2014.
Modi and the BJP, for their part, have set a goal for winning 370 seats in the Indian Parliament, and 400 in total for the alliance it leads.
Previously, in the 2019 General Elections, Modi's BJP Party won 303 out of 543 seats in the lower house of Parliament, its best performance since the Party's formation in 1980.
