The sun fell in warm beams through the curtains of your bedroom. The warmth enveloped your body, making yourself smile. Your eyes cracked open and your heart fluttered at the sight of Billy, still lying next to you, soundly asleep. His face looked peaceful, his hair a perfect mess.

You laid there for a moment watching him, debating whether or not to wake him. You felt a sense of pride that you were the one to see him sleeping and in such a vulnerable position like this.

When the name “Billy the Kid” was usually mentioned, fear swept through the minds of those who heard it. He was a wanted man, a murderer. He was said to be cold blooded and ruthless. It was valid for anyone to be wary but you knew the real him.

Instead of terror your body was always filled with love whenever you heard his name. You always had to be careful how much you felt these emotions when out on the town. It would be very suspicious if you were all smiley when someone mentioned him. No one knew it, but he was yours and only yours.

You shifted your body to lay on your side, staring at Billy’s sleeping face which was now illuminated by the sunlight. You could see the dots of faint freckles on his nose, the perfect shape of his soft lips, and the hint of blush in his cheeks.

He looked like art. Art that you could never get tired of.

You took a hand and gently ran it over his cheek. His skin was warm and comforting. You brushed some of his messy brown curls off his forehead as he stirred a bit.

His blue eyes fluttered open and a small, groggy smile pulled at his lips.

“Mornin’ beautiful.” He mumbled, the smile still on his face. You always liked him in the morning. He was always softer, more down to earth.

You leaned in and planted a soft kiss on his nose. He let out a deep hum in response.

“Morning to you too.” You whispered, your face still close to his. Billy let out a sigh, staring up at you. The sunlight seemed to make his eyes glow an even brighter blue.

“You always look so gorgeous in the morning, darlin’” He said softly, running his finger gently through your hair. The feeling of his fingers brushing their way through your locks made your head feel like it was buzzing. You leaned down to plant another kiss on his nose, overcome with happiness.

“I like it when you play with my hair.” You sighed once you pulled back. “It feels nice.” This earned you a smile in return from him.

“Well I like being this close to you.” He said in a low voice.

His eyes studied your face, taking in every perfect.

“I would never leave this bed, and stay here with you forever if I could.” He whispered, moving his hand up to trace your lips with his rough fingers.

You pursed your lips, kissing his thumb as it gently ran across your mouth. He moved his thumb off your lips and you spoke.

“We don’t get to spend time like this together often… its rarity makes it more special don’t you think?” You said softly.

Billy let out a small chuckle. “You’re right…. But in all honesty I could do the same thing everyday with you and it would still be special, y/n.”

You felt your cheeks warm at this and leaned in for a kiss on his lips. Unlike your usual kisses with Billy, this one was soft, slow, and gentle. The usual roughness and need for dominance had melted away.

You wrapped your arms around his neck as you slid closer to him, not breaking the kiss. When you finally pulled back he wrapped his strong arms around your body and held you tightly, as you placed your head on his chest. You felt butterflies in your stomach as you laid there. Billy gently ran his fingers over your hips, tracing every delicate curve with love.

“Do you know what time it is?” He mumbled into your hair after long moments of silence. You shook your head letting out a sigh. You dreaded this question, but you knew it was coming.

“Do you really have to go Billy? Can’t you stay a bit longer?” You whispered, a hint of sadness in your voice.

Billy kissed the top of your head softly, letting his lips linger for a moment. “You know why I can’t stay darlin’. It’s too dangerous for me right now.” He said in a low voice.

As much as you hated it, you knew he was right. He was on the run. In sweet moments like these you always forgot that he was a wanted man. An outlaw. In a perfect world he would be safe from the law, but the world wasn’t perfect.

You tilted your head up to gaze up at him. “Please don’t go away for too long this time ok?” You said quietly.

Billy gave you a sad smile. He wanted to comfort you, tell you he would be back soon, but he also knew he shouldn’t make promises he couldn’t keep.

“I’ll try my hardest darlin’…..” He paused for a moment, lips parted. Finally he spoke again. “But I can’t make you any promises…”

You let out a huff in reply, squeezing him closer to you. He combed his fingers through your hair in a comforting way.

“Darlin’ the worst case scenario would be me gettin’ caught, because I’m sure as hell not coming back if I’m hung.” He said in a serious tone.

You squeezed him a little tighter. “I know…..” You said sadly. “Your constant runnin’ just really is the sweetest con.”

A small laugh puffed past his lips. “And why’s that?”

You gazed up at him. “I don’t like how you always have to leave… but at least I know I still have you, at least you’re still mine.”

Billy leaned down and kissed you softly on the lips again. You wished that you could lie like this with him forever.

He then shifted his body, almost like he was signaling to you that he had to get ready to go. You released your grip reluctantly and watched him sit up. You stayed laying down, your head in the soft pillows as you watched him stretch up his arms and let out a soft grunt. You liked the view of his broad shoulders, and bare chest in the morning sun. All these little things about him made it even harder to watch him go.

You watched him as he turned his head towards you. “Now don’t get all pouty on me darlin’” He teased, brushing his fingers on your arm.

You let out a breathy laugh and pulled yourself up from the pillows so you were sitting next to him. Your messy hair and rumpled clothes made Billy admire how effortlessly beautiful you were. He took his hand and ran it across your collarbone while staring deeply into your eyes.

“Every second I’m gone I’ll be thinking of you.” He whispered.

My cheeks grew warm, as a smile spread across my face.

“I love you Billy.” You said softly. A look of excitement flashed across Billy’s face, before it turned loving. He had never really had someone who he had truly loved. All the women he had been with were always temporary. They were only interested in late night meetups, and casual flings. It was comforting to have you and to know that this wasn’t temporary, this wasn’t a fling, this was real.

He leaned in to kiss you on the forehead with a smile. “I love you too angel.” He said quietly. “I don’t know what I would do without you.”

He gave you one final kiss on your lips before pulling back the covers of the sheets to climb out of bed. He was still groggy, his movements a little sluggish. You flopped back down on the pillow watching him with admiration.

You watched as he roamed around the room collecting his things. You noticed how his back flexed as he pulled on his shirt.

“Darlin’ don’t you know it’s rude to stare?” He teased when he noticed your eyes roaming his body.

You giggled and sat up in bed, pulling the covers off of yourself. “I can’t help it. You know I have a thing for rugged outlaws.” Billy let out a chuckle at your teases.

You got up handing him things like his socks and his suspenders. You sat down at your vanity and brushed out your hair. He was almost dressed when suddenly he frowned.

“Y/n where are my boots?” He said, searching around the room. His eyebrows were furrowed.

You looked at him through the mirror and smiled. “If I tell you then you are able to leave.” You pouted. Billy came up behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist. He placed his head in the crook of your neck and stared into your eyes through the mirror.

“Darlin…….” He sighed. It pained him to see you so desperate for him to stay.

“Fine…” You breathed, leaning your head against his affectionately. “Your boots are beneath my bed.”

Billy let out a small chuckle. He placed a kiss on your cheek. “Thank you.” He said softly as he pulled away to grab his boots. You watched as he bent down and spotted the pair near the front end of the bed. He sat down and yanked them on.

You knew that it was time to say goodbye once the boots came on. It was almost routine now.

You stood up as he slung his gun over his waist and placed his hat on his head. You walked over to stand in front of him, his tall body towering over you.

“Be safe ok?” You whispered, grabbing one of his hands.

“I will be. Don’t worry.” Billy said softly. His voice had a tinge of sadness to it. It made you feel better knowing that you weren’t the only one saddened to have to be apart.

His hand squeezed yours in a comforting way. You tried to soak in every aspect of him because you knew the moment he left the loneliness would creep in.

You leaned up to kiss him. You savored the kiss. You memorized the shape of his mouth, the softness of his touch, the warmth of his breath. You didn’t know when he would be back, it could be days, weeks, maybe even months.

You pushed down the looming fear that this could be the last time. The world was a dangerous place for him. The slight chance that the next time you’d see him would be at his grave scared you.

Billy could sense the tenseness and anxiety in your body. He cupped your face gently.

“Y/n, I’ll be fine. Please trust me.” You could see the sincerity in his eyes, and nodded.

“Goodbye Billy.” You whispered.

And with that he was gone. To your disappointment he seemed to have left quickly. A part of you pursued that he would come running back, but he never did. You couldn’t help but relish in the feeling of sadness that had crept into your heart.

He came and he went. And you couldn’t help but wish that his boots were still neatly tucked beneath your bed.

"safe sex" is a really misleading and binary term. There is never any guarantee of safety in anything we do. Every choice we make comes with risks. Hell, choosing not to connect with other people sexually (if you have any desire to) does ITSELF come with its own risks and costs over time.

The chase after perfect, guranteed safety will only lead to us feeling powerless and afraid, because it is an impossibility. All that we can do is inform ourselves of the risks, mitigate the risks we are the most concerned about and that affect others, and then knowingly accept what risks we still face as the cost of leading a full, enjoyable life.

When we inform ourselves about risk mitigation, we learn there are certain steps that we should probably take to protect ourselves and others if we are engaging in behavior that carries risk. If you're having sex with a complete stranger, it's probably smart to use a condom. If you have sex regularly you might want an HPV vaccine or to be on PreP to prevent HIV transmission. When you meet up with people you should get tested for COVID. You should get vaccinated against COVID. “Does this movie really scare you?” Y/N giggled, feeling Harry hide his face in her hair. 

She had not at all anticipated her boyfriend being nervous about a movie about a haunted doll, but she was finding it a little comical. Harry was usually pretty nonchalant about things, wasn’t scared of much, so when she suggested they have a scary movie marathon for halloween instead of getting wasted, he was fine with it. They’d made some snacks and Harry had even bought her a cute halloween blanket- it had Sanrio characters in halloween costumes in it!- and conceded in the fight of wearing matching Halloween pajamas. He’d even let her post a photo, which was a win for her. 

The first movie had been a documentary called Demon House, one from a paranormal investigator who had bought a seemingly possessed house. Harry had scoffed at some of the evidence they pulled, questioned the validity of others, and didn't seem to mind it. But when Annabell had been pulled up on the screen, he had been much more quiet. 

“It’s not scary.” He scoffed. “It’s just creepy. Who the fuck likes dolls like thay anyways?” He froze for a second, looking to Y/N with an apprehensive look on his face. “For the love of god, please tell me you don’t have any hiding away that I’m going to be exposed to when we move in together.” 

Y/N’s brain malfunctioned slightly at the mere mention of moving in together. It had been mentioned a few times but they were enjoying school currently, but she did always wish they lived together. Y/N could only laugh harder as he vehemently denied it, making it seem only more true in her head. “I know! Relax. I’m not gonna tell anyone.” She shook her head. “It’s fine. I have to grab more drinks anyways. Did you want a Coke or did you want water?” She asked, stretching her arms above her head. 

“What I want is for you to stop that little grin.” He grumbled. “When we have kids, we are never allowing dolls into their rooms. Sorry.”

im sorry if someone has pointed these out already but i replayed p5t again and i am in absolute SHAMBLES with these new observations. i never actually post my thoughts here but i kinda need people to talk to about p5t IM AUTISTIC AND HYPERFIXATED. anyway onto the real post, sorry if this is unorganized and messy. im just really excited

i really wanna talk about the whole event that happens in the 3rd kingdom, on the rooftop.

soo.. when the school crashes and transforms.. it resembles a clock. a train station??? and. said clock is unmoving. what struck me is the time it was stuck on. 6:00pm, or 18:00, the exact time The Train Incident (tm) takes place, and the exact time eri was pushed onto the train tracks at the station.

i guess you could say, toshiro is stuck in the past, unable to move on and process his trauma. it's the extreme guilt of him losing his closest friend and how standing up and rebelling... just ended up in so many people hurt. he can't possibly live bearing the sin of that.

but here's when it gets more interesting... when shadow toshiro was threatening to kill erina, and when erina/eri inspired toshiro to take a stand, he throws joker's knife through the shadows hand, but more specifically, through the gloved hand, the one damaged from the train.

then with a really good sequence, toshiro runs as fast as he possibly can (i wonder how he did that actually) and with flashing memories of him failing to save eri in between, he manages to catch erina before she falls. and... he catches her with his damaged hand. the same hand that failed to save eri, saved erina.

remember the clock from the beginning? it STARTS MOVING AGAIN right after this.

this whole scene is genuinely such a beautiful and symbolistic way to show that toshiro finally found his resolve, and that despite all that trauma in the past, he's ready to change for the better and move again.

oh, and one more thing. toshiros mask only has one eye shown. the left one... the one that eri lost. they have ONE EYE EACH AAAAGHHH!! their souls really are connected.

what gets me more is that one of toshiros catchphrases in combat iirc is "witness OUR power as ONE" and it makes me go insane because he basically sees eri as his hero (here ill quote a futaba dialogue that hit me hard: "natsuhara's like the undefeated heroine in toshiro's life story, huh?") and she made him feel like he's more than just a puppet of his father. she inspired him to take a stand, and while this resulted badly, it led to his LITERAL SOUL subconsciously manifesting into a being heavily based on her (erina)

he just believes that eri/erina is a huge part of who he is. so "witness our power as one"

the fact he doesn't have a real PT outfit disappoints me a bit, but id like to think it's because eri taught him that he doesn't need to become all cool and change himself to rebel. he just needs to be himself. that's really it.

some extra things i have noticed:

-shadow toshiros 'weapon' is basically just bandages. i first thought this was a twisted more distorted version of the bandages eri gave toshiro when they first met (since shadow toshiro claims to despise eri)?? but someone in yt comments pointed out its probably made from eri's bandages after the incident. and i think that makes much more sense

-toshiro is the only persona user that has a persona opposite of his gender... that's kinda... 🏳️‍⚧️ if you ask me...heh (im trans)

-i know many know already but erinas character design is GENIUS . like ... the covered eye and the prosthetic leg?? referencing eri?? SO FUCKING WELL DONE. genuinely one of my fav character designs in persona

can you share some of your writing/planning process for thirteen? i adore the non-linear format - how do you decide what scenes to put where?

ahh thank you!! idk how much of a defined process I have, but there's definitely a lot of planning that goes into it and i can show you some of that.

i keep all the chapters in one doc organized by month, and then i plan everything out in bullet points in a timeline at the beginning. here i just have october and november as examples bc after december things started to get more detailed/messy

all of the scenes (especially at the beginning) set the stage for things i’ve planned to happen later, or establish something that feels relevant to adrien’s character by the time we meet him in canon. the task of condensing an entire month into about 2-3 scenes has been a bit difficult; i’ve found out that i’m a very present-moment kind of writer so it’s harder for me to describe the passage of, like, weeks of time. so i’ve been pinpointing specific threads of adrien’s story that i want to be sure to tell and choosing scenes from each month that build on that.

i’ve had the idea for this fic in the back of my mind since about 2021 so i’ve had several scenes cemented in my mind, ways i’ve decided things played out, etc. some of the writing process has been building the narrative around those things or figuring out how we get there. that’s what i love about prequels in general, honestly - it’s inevitable where we’re going to end up, but how do we get there?

adrien’s situation, at the moment we meet him in origins, is SO endlessly fascinating to me. he is in the process of doing something reckless and rebellious and bold - running away - against the will of his father, a man he spends the rest of the series struggling with his compulsion to submit to. we find out, via the rest of the show, exactly how difficult it is for adrien to stand up to his father. and yet, in his very first appearance, adrien is running away from him.

how did he get here? what, exactly, pushed him to this point? was this the final escalation of a steady build of rebellious behaviors, or an impulsive breakthrough after one awful day too many? what has this small boy been through in the last year, and why does public school seem to be his only fathomable escape?

and WHY, if his circumstances are so dire as to compell him to rebel so boldly in the first place, does he still throw it away to help the old man in the road? what makes him so kind, when he has everything to lose? what happened? how did he get here?

i’m interested, obviously, in the character of émilie. i think that the hole she leaves in the narrative is a compelling silhouette and i’ve been having a blast trying to pencil in its details. it’s obvious that adrien loved her deeply and had a stronger connection to her than with gabriel. but also, adrien was still shut off from the world while she was alive. he was still, presumably, an exploited child star while she was alive. she was an actress and a mother and died by broken magic and never told her son the truth about any of it. figuring out who i think she was and then how to show that through young adrien’s eyes has been a huge part of planning this story for me.

as far as the twenty three year old adrien sections, those have been less involved as far as planning goes. i only recently mapped out which areas of the house i want him to visit during the different months. i wanted his sections to line up at least thematically, if not physically, where thirteen year old adrien is at in his story. for example, in december twenty three year old adrien cleans out the dining room where thirteen year old adrien was having terrible christmas dinner. and in january they’re both in the garden, etc.

it’s a bit harder to map out twenty three adrien just because it has to also make sense geographically - i can’t have him running back and forth up and down the stairs, let’s be real he doesn’t have the energy for that. i’ve also opened up the agreste mansion page on the miraculous wiki so many times while trying to map this out 💔💔 did you know that apparently there’s a third floor we never see in the show. yeah i have to figure out what to do with that now

ANYWAY long story short: the planning process for thirteen is kind of a mess, but the whole story is built around some central plot points that i knew i wanted to hit from the beginning. the details change a lot (as you can see from the outline above - it’s not quite right) but i keep the end in mind. just have to figure out how we get there.

Am I the only one who has trouble reading reader insert fics that use "yn"? Like, I can never put in my own name or anything like that. I only read it as "your name." And it makes any story more comical to me because it could be a really emotional scene and the person will be like, "You're perfect YOUR NAME, I love you YOUR NAME". Idk. Maybe it's just me. I'm not bashing reader insert fics, I personally just have a hard time not seeing it as anything other than your name and it makes it harder for me to take a reader insert fic seriously, even if they're really good.

Its one of the reasons I prefer ocs in some cases, but then again, those fics can also have their own flaws. Like sometimes, reader or the oc is written as basically perfect in every way, the one that delivers the funny line, the super smart one, the quirky but in a good way one, the prettiest person youve ever met in your life, the sensible, put together one, dainty. Theyre the best at everything and super smart and talented and have no real flaws that could possibly be a turn off for anyone. Those are hard to read through. Its too Disney channel for me, personally. I know its fiction, but id like it if the reader or oc had some characteristics that made them seem more human or relatable. Like something kind of gross or messy or something that most people have done or do that they theyre not proud of, but its just a human thing, like forgetting to wash your hair sometimes and it gets all greasy and you feel gross, or loud snoring, picking your teeth, cleaning out your ear with your finger nail (ive seen my brother do that. Its hard to watch lol), being too lazy to shave, pimple popping. Idk man (i dont know how to explain it).

It's why other than a couple I'm reading as like a guilty pleasure thing, I don't really read fics that are character/reader or OCS. I mainly prefer canonical relationships between existing characters or characters I wish got together, but maybe that's just because I have a pretty unimaginative brain lol.

“Well Vox, I came here for a reason of my own but then I walked by your office and you looked so sad!” He began to walk closer to Vox. “You know, t they say you’re never fully dressed without a smile!”

Vox let out a laugh that was quite clearly untruthful. “Yes Alastor I am aware! I was alone in here and so I figured I’d just save up some energy. I’m sure you understand.”

“Quite frankly I don’t,” Alastor paused, “I think maybe I could help you get that smile back.”

Vox didn’t even have to think. He knew Alastor meant he was going to tickle him. You could ask Velvette. She’s seen those two in tickle fights that lasted for DAYS. she knows what they’re capable of, or more so what Alastor is capable of.

Vox puts up a fight for maybe a couple seconds but he just loves tickles more than he can play pretend that he doesn’t <3

It works out well for them both, Alastor gets to fuck around with Vox and well, Vox gets his shit rocked!!! And he loves that more than a lot of things.

I don’t think the harassment is acceptable. I think people are really out of pocket doing that, but I do think him establishing what is and isn’t part of his job is fine. And maybe did need to be said, because clearly people didn’t know.

As for using Buddie as promo… idk. The marketing team is gonna do whatever ABC feels will garner the most viewers, and right now it’s Buck being bi and the long held desire to see him and Eddie become canon. They’re gonna milk it however they can, which falls back on Tim, thus him feelings like he needed to explain himself, presumably.

I do agree it could be toned down though, because Buck is now canonically dating someone else, and I don’t recall them teasing Buddie for real when he was with women. So doing it now the way they are is purely because they’re banking on Buddie fans, while also currently not committing.

Plus, everything Buddie related from before has to now be assumed not canon, so it’s putting everyone in a messy spot. Because we have canon, fanon, show runner confirmed but not on screen, and canon jokes that are now floating in the in between because no one knows if the they’ll be acknowledged in canon or get scrapped.

I think people should just calm down and wait to see what the season brings, anyway. Once it’s over and we get an idea of where all the characters are at, then start asking bigger questions or letting out the more angry frustrations.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. The sheer amount of work that goes into television hasn't often been well realized in fan spaces. The writing, how it translates to screen, the process of acting, all the work by the crew, the pressures from moneymen, managing the expectations of the audience, the long hours and repetition of scenes. How multiple people working on a creative project means multiple interpretations— all of which bleed through. The showrunner has every right to protect himself and the people who work for him. I was mainly trying to draw on my own experiences in how these harassment campaigns happen, how they continue, and how they can be mitigated.

US TV production has a long and rocky history when it comes to queer narratives. That doesn't really end now that there are canonically queer characters on screen and this fallout is part of the response to that tension.

For example, if I engage in the whole Buddie vs. Bucktommy thing (sorry), I'd say both perspectives have a point they don't realize they're making about queerness in television storytelling.

The thesis I feel like Buddie fans are making is there are two queer coded main characters who love each other, who have seasons of build up in their individual characters and in their relationship. Why can't they be together? Because they're two male main characters on network television? Be bold, be brave. Wouldn't it be amazing if they did commit to that story? Wouldn't it be game changing? Sexuality and friendship and love is not set in stone, it's okay to be flexible. M/F relationships are allowed that space to develop within a story and you know if one of them were a woman they probably would be together already.

The thesis I feel like BuckTommy fans are making is that Buddie was never going to happen, realistically, and it's amazing enough that they committed to Buck being canonically bisexual. Why do you want to rock the boat? Don't you see that if you can't embrace this development it could be snatched away at any moment. The show is its own thing within its own context and not the blinkered interpretation you have of two characters. This queerness is canon.

Those two thesis's (thesi?) are rubbing up against each other and building straw men of the other to attack and tear down. A showrunner wading in was only ever going to combust that tension further and that's what happened. What keeps happening.

Cowboy Carter Review

sorry if i write a lot. i like to yap lol

Ameriican Requiem- i'm a huge sucker for a sitar so i was gripped in from the beginning. i grew up on country music (mainly 90s/early 2000s) and so when she showed up at the CMAs and performed with the chicks it was a childhood dream. but as a person who liked country music around the time 9/11 happened, it's only become even more racist since. the way they treated her that night even though she was one of, if not THE, best performer of the night was so upsetting to watch. even as the best artist on the planet, at the top of her game, she's always going to work a million times harder than any of her peers. i'm so proud of her being able to make a song like to this to put her thoughts out on the whole night that night.

Blackbiird- obviously everyone has heard this song before. i was unaware of the actual backstory to the song since i don't follow the beatles too much (i like george harrison but that's about it lol). i was not aware that the song the song was written for black women during the civil rights movement. i assumed the song was mainly written by john lennon who to my knowledge was kind of a grifter when it came to his activism. having this song come right after ameriican requiem is so poetic.

16 Carriages- shockingly i was able to avoid hearing this song in full until tonight. i tend to only do one single per release and so texas hold em was the one. this song is so heartbreaking because i think about all the kids in the entertainment industry who can probably relate to this song all too well

Protector- these songs she makes for her kids... i'm gonna need her to stop. not because they're bad but i straight up can't listen to blue and probably this song because i want a mom like this 😭

My Rose- i hate that this is an interlude. it's so beautiful and not to be dramatic should've been 10 hours long

Texas Hold 'Em- i love this song. the only problem i have with it is it sounds too clean. like the production sounds too clean. maybe it sounds better on the radio where the quality is lower than streaming but its definitely a song that needs to be played not so isolated.

Bodyguard- there's something in this song. she channeled carole king for this on or something. it's so good instantly a top 20 if not top 10 song of hers through her whole discography.

Dolly P- once again idk what to say about this one its too short to say anything

Jolene- i mean i think the same way about her version as i do about dolly's version. why are we getting mad at these women when we should be getting mad at the men?? take away that beyonce is beyonce for a second. if she was a normal lady and this girl was unaware her man was taken, isn't that more on him than anyone? he's letting it happen.

Daughter- her voice in this song is insanity. the control she has is unmatched truly.

Spaghettii- the beat omgggg. i know this would hit so hard in a mashup with "my house" i'm obsessed.

Alliigator Tears- just from hearing snippets of the country music that's on the radio nowadays, i think this might be one of the few songs from this album that they will eat up. i'm not saying that as a diss at all. i love this song alot especially after a second listen.

Smoke Hour II- i guess i can add on here a random tid bit. i made a country playlist in preperation for the album to come out. i made it on valentine's day. tell me why i named it KNTRY. i didn't even know the "radio station" she has on the album was called that lol.

Just for Fun- i don't listen to lana del rey anymore. i had a small time during last year where i did but then she got real messy again and signed that letter thanking joe biden. that being said this song sounds identical to "norman fucking rockwell". which is a compliment because both are good songs. keep jack antonoff away from beyonce though. that's the good thing about beyonce is she doesn't sound like everyone else which he makes everyone do (yes i am a fan of him but i'm critical of his production lol)

II Most Wanted- i'm sorry i've never been a fan of miley cyrus (except for the song she did for black mirror and that one EP she put out). i want to like this song because i like aspects of the song but it being a miley cyrus song with a beyonce feature is not want i want.

Levii's Jeans- this is also a collab i'm not a fan of. i actually enjoy post malone but i would've liked to see them in a more upbeat song.

Flamenco- idk how to take this song. it's stunning as usual. my thoughts on the lyrics though is she's kinda talking to fans maybe like the OG like destiny's child fans who have started to leave because she's starting to experiment more with her sound and they miss her old sound. i would love to know her take on this song in particular. because i know so many artists who decide to change their sound throughout each release are terrified of losing fans because they're so stuck on a certain sound.

The Linda Martell Show- another one i can't say much on since it's an interlude

Ya Ya- now.... remember what i said about bodyguard??? easily top 10. idk where on my ranking but it's there. the interpolation of "these boots were made for walking" and "good vibrations". there's something about that old soul rock sound that gets me every single time. i know that it doesn't sound anything alike but "freedom" has that same vibe, where it takes alot from old 60s blues soul rock. this is gonna hit so good on tour!

Oh Louisiana- i will say i really like this interlude. second favorite out of the ones with actual music

Desert Eagle- another song she chose to make extremely short when it should've been hours long... come on B

Riiverdance- its a fun and cute song. i think the beat is good but i think i like it more on my first listen.

Tyrant- someone said this is the thique of cowboy carter and yeah i can definitely hear it. it's a sexy song and it's a fun song. definitely like it alot more after a second listen

Sweet • Honey • Buckiin'- her sampling "i fall to pieces" in this song is so special to me. i do want someone to take this "honey" and add it to the end of pure/honey though i wonder if it would sound any good. i think sweet and buckiin are the best songs out of the three of these.

Amen- i love how this really rounds out the album, calling back to the first song. it feels and is a very emotional song. don't know if i'll go back to it only because i think it could make me cry lol

overall, i think it's a solid album. if we're comparing the acts, which idk how you can because they're two distinctly different sounds, i would probably still go with renaissance but there's still so many solid songs on this album that are now some of my top faves. usually i rate out of 10 but it feels too low tbh, so i'm rating it out of 100. it will definitely grow on me just like renaissance did. 89/100.

I mean, first of all I think the idea of love languages is mostly useful as a quick generalized way to discuss how we respond to and express affection—a messy nuanced human behavior thing that is hard to talk about, and the show is written with that nuance, but even then I don't think El particularly craves or requires words to feel loved anymore than anyone else does. I think in s4 she was really just confused about why her boyfriend was refusing to say the word 'love' under any circumstance to her? Especially after she heard him say it once already and then she said it back to his face in response so its like, he said he loves me before and I let him know I feel the same and now he won't say it again? Not even as a way to end letters—a normal thing people do for someone who means much less to them than she supposedly does to him sooooooooooo like what's the fucking deal? The contents of the letters sure implies he holds a lot of affection for her and he brings her flowers in her favorite colors and ok we're in love and then he signs 'from' on the card and its like ????? like even as the audience you're supposed to be confused lol like he clearly has some kind of hang up I wonder what it is? Then after El smashes a girl's face in she thinks "oh yeah, the hang up is that he actually hates me because I'm evil haha lemme just start projecting real quick" and then, you know, s4 happens. I mean, it's not like she doesn't value words at all, I just don't think her relationship to them is particularly tied to her trauma like people say, or if anything, maybe she values them less because that's all Brenner would ever give her? Like, perhaps the big Love Confession hits the hardest because it came after Mike and company spent a week or whatever driving across the entire western united states to save her from the government. Idk, something to chew on.

Honestly, if anyone's love language is words its Mike lmao he's the one whos constantly telling El how amazing she is. He's also desperately trying to tell her he loves her in like 5 scenes (arguably succeeding except for not saying the actual word in most of them) before he actually does like, he wants to so bad it almost comes spilling out of his mouth against his will (except for that one time it does ha) he's just terrified of doing so because it would essentially be ripping his entire beating heart out of his chest and handing it to this powerful-in-every-way girl on a silver platter for her to do whatever she wants with—like crushing it into a fine paste in front of his eyes, killing him instantly and preventing him from having the strength to love anything ever again. Like, the other half of the love language thing is that you also speak the love language, meaning you are more likely to show affection by doing the thing you want for other people, and Mike does this waaaaay more than El does for anyone actually (something I would love to see her do more in s5 lowkey. Like, she was at a severe disadvantage before and was too busy dealing with her own shit to have a ton of emotional energy for anyone else so it makes sense, but we're matured now. I think now is the time for a heart-to-heart that goes both ways u kno).

If I wanted to be cute, I could argue that both Mike and El's main love language is actually acts of service. They're both little heroes who jump at the chance to do anything for the people they love with no regard for their own personal wellbeing. Also, adorably, the thing that gets them back together in s3 is Mike saving El from Billy, which El responds to by helping him and Lucas with the vending machine. One offering of m&ms later and we're back baybee it's the quiet understanding that no matter what they'll always be there for each other for meeee

If I'm not being cute I'm saying the idea that everyone has a main 'love language' is bullshit and you're gonna appreciate different things at different times and people are not that easily categorized but it's still a good jumping off point for discussion so—

its so, idk, reassuring? relieving? to see your art. not just the full, big, detailed and pretty and complex pieces you hold up as proof of your skill and talent and all, but especially the little ones you post occasionally, the little doodles and scribbles and quick and messy scraps or beginning bits. because usually all artists hand out is the first group, the big done skillful works and there's always this implication, that *those* are what /counts as art/ and anything less isn't. getting to see the little scraps & scribbles and all just.. reassures me that, hey, art isn't just the big painstaking detailed beasts of canvas and layers and detail. that the little ones, the starting, matters too. That you have to begin somewhere, after all, or that you don't have to throw your full effort all the time into what you do. that it's okay to.. not. So, thank you for showing the little things too.

Thank you all for the support and love. It's been so baffling to me that my first little pick a card reading ever got so many likes. I also wanna thank my good friend @occultwaters Selene for the love and support.

Somethings I want to lay out.

1) This is free, I can make the choice not to do it for situations or questions I'm not comfortable with. That's why I'm allowing dms for now.

I've seen too many people lose themselves over "Just a question." The thing about fate in my experience is that it's like a fabric, and asking a fortune teller to read for you is like poking a needle through it. Okay, it's just a poke. You keep asking for more and seeing others because you're not satisfied - that hole gets bigger, and the fabric and its embroidery begin to get messy. I've had my personal experience when I fucked with fate. I tried to go against it. Let's just say I nearly lost something so dear to me.

Also, there are just some things that aren't meant to be known. I will see what I am allowed to see and tell you what I am allowed to tell. If I go against the line, things will not be good for me. Some readers will walk that thin line, but I will not.

But... can things change? Yes! But for better or for worse? Then there are some things you can definitely not change, and going against it will not be good for you. Eff around and find out. You can avoid it for a while, but it will catch up. I've seen it come back around fairly quickly for those who decided to go against it. I was one of those people. It can definitely do a lot of collateral damage.

Be mindful of who you share your information and energy with. There are people who will not do good with your trust and will on purposely mess with your fate.

it looks like he sleeps in a casket-like bed (hence, the lid is open top centre) I believe he only has this open when he's awake so idk who forgot to close it. it needs to be closed so that when rev does actually get up and sleepwalks, he's contained. the last thing the loonatics want to wake up to is the house completely trashed bc rev had a dream he was running from something. so casket bed it was.
