I’ve seen headcanons that Papa V is transmasc.

I read a fanfic last night where V was a trans woman.

I’ve read theories that gender doesn’t apply to V to begin with due to being a vampire or even half-ghoul.

And I just have one thing to say…

And... a lot of children.#Blessing= making the eggs 'alive' and... viable? is that the right word??#because... really... mixing Bug and Plant DNA?? q-q #The Void is kinda the Endboss in that AU. Every Loop more of the Void awoke (but it can never not make the eggs viable).#The Void is really Angry #Its souls too...#But they are still not fully on the whole 'lets rise till the whole world is drowning' thing the Void as entity on itself has going on.#I'm kinda stupid at explanations... so short thing.#The Void is an Ocean of Souls (and is also the birthplace of new ones funnily enough)#The Void is also an entity that holds all those souls. In some of my writings I also call it 'Old Blood'.#Because it got trapped in an Ocean of old 'Blood' When the first bug civilization got stupid and summoned patrt of the concept of death.#It is sort of still part of death and also kinda not.#The Void/Old Blood really likes the abilities it got. man. there comes a point where derap keeps admitting to doing things like vodwatching his teammate, "accidentally" having peoples streams open Just long enough to see a funny moment he can talk abt on stream, intentionally seeking out lifesteal spoilers, or using replay mod to see things he isn't supposed to know abt like the focus swords during the spawn war that it becomes incredibly difficult to trust anything he says or to continue giving him the benefit of the doubt

bc if he will admit to doing stuff like That fully on stream then how can it be trusted that he isn't cheating in other ways? like idk maybe its not that serious to anyone else but there's a reason the rules are the way that they are and even IF he claimed to not use the information he has on the server itself, his decisions and thought processes and everything are all still very much being influenced bc he has information he should not have :(

They are mainly working, occasionally getting annoyed at how evolution makes things more difficult for them to work on

it's reference to the recurrent laryngeal nerve. The fun thing about it is that it's the nerve that innervates the muscles in the larynx, but it detours around the aorta on its way from the brain to the voice box. This is especially noticeable in larger animals where the heart and the voice box are far apart. For example, in giraffes, the structures are only a few centimeters apart, but the nerve can get 5 meters long because it travels all the way down to the chest and then loops back up. This is a result of how structures evolved from fish (with no necks) to large animals (with large necks). Evolution can't just "unplug" the nerve and optimize it, so next best thing is to gradually adjust over time

hmm... im sure someones made a good guide out there somewhere, but i personally havent used any but thats not a good answer, so another place to start is to use a real game as a ref! this is the sims 2 ds:

most of the detailed textures are only used for the player sims hair/face/clothing you can see by the jagged edges of this sims vest that its still a little lower than the faces texture (this is probably because the body has more clothing variations than the face and they needed to save memory)

static parts of the environment have a higher res, because they can tile/repeat the textures. this game has a million variations on bed/chair textures, so they're notably lower res this is a ripped texture of most(?) of the things used to make an area in the game (image credit) :

the desert background here is just a 2d image, relatively low res because the player will never be able to reach it

i guess this is just a long winded way of saying "things that arent that important or the player will generally be lower poly + less detailed" but i hope it helps a little

oh yeah i finished sacred and terrible air and i regret to announce that the distressingly erotic autopsy scene in disco elysium was not an isolated incident

#gore text cw #disco elysium #i guess #my overall review of sacred and terrible air is; EXTREMELY difficult to parse and DESPERATELY needs an editor #theres some great prose in there and some really neat ideas but the pacing is INCOMPREHENSIBLE #the worldbuilding is also never once explained theres no joyce messier figure to tell you What The Hap Is Fuckening #so if you havent already played the game it would be COMPLETE gibberish #but theres some gorgeous prose and the worldbuilding is THERE pretty much exactly as it is in de #its extremely impresive but desperately needed editing #its also a lot darker & grittier than de no real jokes or light moments #i wouldnt say dont read it but i would say dont go in lightly #and dont read it if you havent played the game first to get the lay of the land

i feel like im not making any sense but does anyone else feel like there are stories that let u run with them and ones that spell everything out for you

#im reading that post that says artists are directors of audience reaction and not its dictator:#'you cannot guarantee that everyone viewing your work will react as you are trying t make them react. a good artist knows that this is what #allows work to breath. by definition you cannot have art where the viewer brings nothing to the table ... this is why you have to let go of #the urge to plainly state in text exactly how you think the work should be interpreted ... its better to be misinterpreted sometimes than #to talk down to your audience. you wont even gain any control that way; people will still develop their opinions no matter what you do #im thinking abt this again cuz i was thinking maybe the thing that lets adventure time work so well the way it does is cuz it doesnt #take itself too seriously that it gives the audience enough room to fuck with subtext and then fuck with them back yknow. i think it was #mentioned somewhere that they werent even planning to run with the postapocalyptic elements that are hinted in the show but changed their #mind after the one off with the frozen businessmen and dominoed into marcy and simons backstory. on the other side there are stories that #explain too much to let the story speak for itself and i think it ends up having to do more with the crew trying to lead ppl in a certain #direction than expand on what they have and i see a lot of this with miraculous. like when interviews and tweets are used as word of god in #arguments and it becomes a little stifling to play around with it knowing the creator can just interject. u can say its the crews effort to #engage with its audience but it feels more like micromanaging. and none of this is to say there ISNT room for stories that spell things out #theyre just suited for different things. if sesame street tried abstract approaches to themes and nuance itd be counterproductive #a lot of things fly over my head so i need help picking things apart to get it- but it doesnt have to be from the story itself. ive picked #picked up or built on my own interpretations listening to other ppl share their thoughts which creates conversation around the same thing #sometimes stories will spell things out for you without being so obvious abt it that it feels like its woven into the text. my fav example #for this might be ATLA using younger characters as its main cast but instead of feeling like its dumbed down for kids to understand why war #is bad its framed from a childs point of view so younger audiences can pick up on it by relating to the characters. maybe an 8 year old #wont get how geopolitics works but at least they get 'hey the world is a little more complicated than everyone vs. fire nation'. same for #steven universe bc its like theyre trying to describe and put feelings into words that kids might not have so they have smth to start with #especially with the metaphors around relationships bc even if it looks unfamiliar as a kid now maybe the hope is for it to be smth you can #look back to. thats why it feels like these shows grew up with me.. instead of saving difficult topics for 'when im ready for it'#as if its preparing me for high school it gave me smth to turn in my hands and revisit again and again as i grow. stories that never #treated u as dumb all along. just someone who could learn and come back to it as many times as u need to. i loved SU for the longest time #but i felt guilty for enjoying it hearing the way ppl bash it. bc i was a kid and thought other ppl understood it better than me and made #feel bad for leaning into the message of paying forward kindness and not questioning why steven didnt punish the diamonds or hold them #accountable. but im rewatching it now and going oh. i still love this show and what it was trying to teach me #yapping #diary
