Ghosts have the habit of taking names of those they’ve defeated. Not in spars or play-fights of course, and one has to actually be an adult for the instinct to hit, but it happens. It happens far more often than one would think. 

Jason? Actually has no clue when he comes back to the living why he stole one of the Joker’s older names, nor why the Pit goes so angry when he thinks about Robin- HisTitleHisFraidNameFromFamily- 

Now the Pit? Not a baby semi-near the cusp of adulthood, in fact is Very Old even if it’s more hivemind-esque then a full on realms entity. Very offended for the Baby it was gifted, because who takes that from a literal infant?! 

Oh! Oh that’s another baby! Hm, change of plans, obviously the baby is also its. Because while adult ghosts trying to forcefully take a Name is a direct challenge? A ghostling- or in this case liminal- doing it is an open invitation for adoption.

I bet when Silver was very small he just called Malleus by name but eventually someone told him that they’re supposed to address him with a title and he stopped and Malleus, whose whole thing is that his status and strength have prevented him from forming meaningful attachments with most people and he feels isolated because of it, went home and didn’t come out of his room for three days.

I feel like this is the main reason I really love the fact that Lumian is our protagonist in the second series. Every epoch was almost completely dominated by a trasmigrator and our last series revolved entirely around the thoughts and feelings of a lonely transmigrator. But in the second series, our main protagonist is a true native of the era.

He is someone who finds themselves deeply entrenched in the midst of secrets, gods, and transmigrators without having the background that any of these people have. He did change after meeting his transmigrated sister, but he grew up with the same morals and viewpoints as his fellow natives. He believes in the gods and is in awe of their powers and might. He is someone who can hold back his curiosity in matters because he grew up in an environment where knowing too much will literally kill/corrupt you. He thinks transmigrators are a bit silly and naive but also powerful and full of unheard knowledge. He's a normal guy of his era that got caught in a shitty situation but grits his teeth to keep moving forward. He is a boy who has been stomped down by fate numerous times but still retains the light of hope in his heart. And I think that was something really needed in this series.

I hate hearing about the Quiverfull movement. I hate hearing about it politically. I hate hearing about it from people who don't know anything about it. I hate hearing about it from people who only know the Duggars. I hate hearing about it from people who grew up next to it, but not in it. I hate hearing about it from women stuck in it right now. Your impulse to believe every last bad thing people say about a guy and then if that guy is victimized by those people or the people who spread the rumors you dont even try to look into if thats even the case, you just assume hes bad by default-- yeah thats incredibly unfair to guys who are victims of abuse.
