Species III (2004)
In today's review, I find that alien-human hybrids may be more than academic. As I attempt a #positive review of the TV sequel, Species III #RobinDunne #RobertKnepper #SunnyMabrey #SavannaFields #AmeliaCooke #JohnPaulPitoc #MichaelWarren #ChristopherNeame
There is liberating freedom to thought experiments, ideas so wild that they can only exist in our imagination. Yet, when faced with reality, any prepared response and planned action goes out the window, when reality is staring right back at you. In 2004, the hypothetical continuation of new ways of life may become the nightmarish reality of humanity, in Species III. Sara grows quickly, like her…

Tumblr limits posts to 100 links, thus the necessity of splitting of the Guests page into parts. It is inconvenient, yes. Click here for a list of all parts.
Alphabetical by last name, unless they don't have a surname, in which case, good luck.
Looking for the host? Try the Taylor Tomlinson tag.
Is a name misspelled? Link broken? Dear god, please tell me.
Please note: “kill” choices are (usually) not tagged. Therefore the links below may not be inclusive of every guest’s appearance on After Midnight.

A hard as nails cop reluctantly teams up with a wise-cracking criminal temporarily paroled to him, in order to track down an escaped convict cop killer. The mismatched buddy buddy formula exploded onto the screen here in a ball of violence, profanity and pin sharp one liners. It also launched Eddie Murphy into 1980s stardom. Directed by Walter Hill and starring Nick Nolte alongside Murphy as part of an electrifying black and white double act, it’s unrelenting in pace and bad attitude. It could have been so different though, with the likes of Stallone, Reynolds, Pryor and Hines attached at various times for lead parts, it now is written in folklore that Murphy got the break and grasped it with both hands (he was actually fired at one point mind!). Thankfully the problems behind the scenes were resolved to give us a classic of its type. A big success for Paramount it paved the way for more choice same formula pictures in the decade, but few were able to be so course and daring with the racial divide explosions. Murphy is outstanding, quick as an A.K. 47 in vocal d...

Its the golden Blog and its the big one 🎆-WRESTLEMANIA-🎆 night 1.
Tumblr media
🚺Women's world heavyweight championship🚺
👍😃-Good Points-:
Nothing to do with the match but i thought the prime logo in the ring would have an isore but no.
Rhea Ripley had a great entrance.
Rhea looked super dominant.
Rhea really does look like a star.
Despite being ill Becky Lynch still competed.
👎☹ - Bad Points-:
Nothing to fo with the match but the stage was very meh.
This match could have easily been on anorher PPV this year.
The led of Becky's book wont have been seen by the fans in attendance.
Tumblr media
🔖-6 pack ladder match-🔖
👍😃-Good Points-:
Great to see all these tag teams in the match.
Great the tag titles were separated.
Great that Grayson Waller and Austin Theory won.
R-Truth is always funny and deserves his WRESTLEMANIA win.
👎☹-Bad Points-:
The Wheatley vodka advertising around the ring was a little distracting.
Tumblr media
🇲🇽-Rey Mysterio and Andrade vs Santos Escobar and Dominick Mysterio-🇲🇽
👍😃-Good Points-:
Its great Rey Mysterio can still get a match at WRESTLEMANIA.
It was good Andrade was on the winning team.
Jaquin Wilde flying through the air was awesome.
👎☹-Bad Points-:
This match could have easily been on Smackdown.
The NFL players weren't needed nor did i know them.
Once again the advertising around the ring was a distraction.
Tumblr media
🔵-Jey Uso vs Jimmy Uso-☝️
👍😃-Good Points-:
The crowd certainly love Jey Uso.
Its good they both got this match.
👎☹-Bad Points-:
Lil Wayne definitely wasn't needed.
This could have been alot better,it was disappointing.
Tumblr media
👭-Damage Control vs Jade Cargill,Naomi and Bianca Belair-👭
👍😃-Good Points-:
Great entrance for both tag teams.
Great that Jade Cargill got the winning pin, this ofcourse means Naomi on the winning team so a good return for her.
👎☹-Bad Points-:
This could have happened on another PPV.
Tumblr media
🇦🇹-Intercontinental championship-🇨🇦
👍😃-Good Points-:
WWE really have treated Sami Zayn very well.
Sami Zayn definitely stayed in this.
👎☹-Bad Points-:
This could have easily been on a Raw.
I wouldn't have had Sami Zayn be the one to beat Gunther.
Tumblr media
⚡-The Rock and Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes and Seth'Freakin'Rollins-🔥
👍😃-Good Points-:
The Rock very much impressed me.
Both The Rock and Roman Reigns looked incredible.
This definitely went the distance.
We had everything from The Rock.
👎☹-Bad Points-:
None.

!WrestleMania 40 Notes!
WWE Womens World Championship match Rhea Ripley (Champion) vs Becky Lynch.  Womens wrestling at it’s finest from two of the best in the business today a cracking straight up fight that continues to show Rhea Ripley as one of the top women’s wrestlers in the business. 3rd favourite of night 1
Multi Man Tag Team Ladder Match for the Raw and Smackdown Tag Team championship.  Judgement Day (Damien Priest and Finn Balor) (Champions) vs New Day vs A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory/Grayson Waller) vs DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa) vs New Catch Republic (Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne) vs Awesome Truth (R-Truth and Miz).  Great to see Ladder matches back at wrestle mania in the triple H era with fun spots and moments, the two right teams won.
Rey Mysterio/Andrade with LWO vs Dominic Mysterio and Santos Escobar.  Fun Luchador high flying tag team match with a lame ending involving two Philadelphia Eagles Football Players Jason Kiece and Lane Johnson.
Jimmy Uso vs Jey Uso, weakest match on the card.
Bianca Bel Air/Jade Cargill/Naomi vs Damage Control (Dakota Kai/Asuka/Kari Sane).  Jade Cargill looked like a million dollars coming into this match, Bianca Bel Air continues to be Mrs WrestleMania.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match Gunther (Champion) vs Sami Zayn.  Two future main eventers delivering one of the best IC Championship matches, Zayn the underdog topples the giant to become the 14th man to win the IC Title at WrestleMania.  2nd favourite of night 1.
Cody Rhodes/Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns/The Final Boss The Rock.  A Main Event full of story and action that could of gone anywhere, Reigns speaering Rock starts the set up for their main event next year, Rock pinning Cody was the right call for night 2 to be more exciting and set up and match between them soon.

1.) how would you describe the world your story takes place in?
i usually go for "just the real world, but with whatever changes i need to tell the story i want to tell" i am VERY lazy by nature. the characters r usually more important than the world. which is the antithesis of this ask game i get it. i wont apologize. im a rebel.
you say somethings a golem and people know what that is already, same with robot. i dont rly need to invent the wheel for what i do.
when i make a diff world (i.e. Eden, or a sci-fi setting) im usually vague and simply reference the genre as a whole. no one questions nanobots when Everything does nanobots, you just say nanobots and carry on.
2.) if you gave an in depth description of your story to someone who was not all the way paying attention, what would their takeaway be?
the abels (aaron and leah, horrorverse): "ok its single fatherhood. i got it. no i know its- i know its about gender and viscera yes i got that--"
aide: ok so the robot has dad issues
terpsichore: what the fuck is wrong with her. she did WHAT with a hammer?
airborne spore: ok so the mushroom has dad issues
3.) any recurring images/elements?
uhh a lot of my ocs deal with death in diff ways. you get it. im morbid. theres also Gender in various ways, and theres always robots or constructs or cases where Humanity vs Personhood are mixed up.
4.) what would you say is the message, if there is one.
this is so corny but i think love, but not like romantic love just like, for the world and for people and for your goals. passion mb? idk. caring about SOMETHING bc if you don't what else is there. you can hold onto anything but you need SOMETHING to hold onto.
the real message for terp and AC (eden) is The Ice is Coming. The Ice is Coming. The Ice is Coming.
5.) pick a theme song for the tv adaptation.
THIS IS THE HARDEST ONEEEEEEE i mean most oingo boingo songs can work for anything involving aaron/leah... weird science being the Easy one, but private life/sweat/same man i was before/gray matter/no spill blood/no one lives forever work too. mostly these r aaron songs, not about his daughter, but i havent found good music about father daughter love, soooo,
terpsichore would be icarus by jason webley, it has sickness as a female lover AND the voices of angels, it fits the best.
aide is get your shit together by pillowfight, im sure it could apply to other characters too but to me thats the core of their story thus far and probably in the future.
airborne cordyceps spore has his own songs but the GENERAL STORY would be animal skin by bryan dunn. hes a minecraft oc. you wouldnt know it.

Country Songstress Brei Carter To Release New Music With Sophisticated Rendition Of “For The Good Times”
Tumblr media
Country singer-songwriter Brei Carter announces new music is on the way for 2023 via her recent global music distribution partnership with Brown Lee Entertainment & The Orchard. Carter puts a slightly sultry, yet sophisticated southern touch on a Kris Kristofferson classic tune, “For The Good Times,” available April 14 everywhere, cutting the song with established Nashville producer and composer Curt Ryle (Taylor Swift, Pam Tillis, Brooks & Dunn) from his private studio. Carter is also working on a new music video to rollout in April for the song which was first released by Bill Nash in 1968. However, it was Ray Price who first turned it into a #1 country hit in 1970 with subsequent popularized recordings from Al Green and Wayne Newton. “I wanted to record the song because of the message I think it represents, and that’s not taking anyone or anything for granted,” said Carter. “Love can be here today and gone tomorrow, and sometimes people just grow apart. It says that no matter what, life goes on so we should make the most of every moment. That’s a reminder that I think about in everything that I do.” The up-and-coming Nashville-based songstress who was recently featured by WSMV-TV about her growing music career is also preparing her next original song project, the jovial pop-country anthemic “Straight Up Country Crazy,” also in the works for an early June release. Carter will also roll out another new video to accompany the project, which is being filmed, produced and directed by Karl Weidmann of Southern Cabin Films. “I wanted to make sure that there was no doubt that this girl is country through and through,” Carter said. “Country roots, it’s in my blood. Now, as an adult, I still can’t get enough of it! Straight up country crazy is what I like to call it!” Carter released her first full length album independently in 2022, the critically acclaimed Brand New Country, an eclectic mix of songs which explores Carter’s various country, soul and R&B musical roots, and recorded with a variety of prominent musical producers including Curt Ryle, Jason Wyatt, William Washington WLPWR, Bridgetown, and others. About Brei Carter: Emerging crossover country and southern pop recording artist Brei Carter is proof that sometimes faith, patience and time pays off. Growing up in Monroe, Louisiana with a solid, southern upbringing, Brei’s family raised her on several authentic southern staples: the Bible, Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church’s choir, Charley Pride, Loretta Lynn, Aretha Franklin, and no shortage of familial love and devotion. However, before she became the dynamic and vivacious country singer she is today, Brei was busy earning a Bachelors in Business from University of Louisiana in Monroe, a Masters in International Relations from Webster University, and a Doctorate in Theology from New Foundation Theological Seminary. She is also a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, where she served as an enlisted soldier and as an officer. Having moved to Nashville soon thereafter, Brei has quickly established herself in the songwriters community as a smooth and sometimes edgy songstress who melds country, soul and southern pop into one fused style. Her first single at country radio “Gave Him A Girl” was immediately recognized as “cute and catchy” by country music journalist and historian Robert K. Oermann in his weekly DISClaimer review column for Music Row Magazine. Brei made her CMA Fest debut in 2022, along with a performance on WoodSongs Old Time Radio Hour. Her growing catalog of new music includes her debut album Brand New Country, released in Fall 2022, and new music on the way in 2023 slated for April & June. Carter is quickly proving herself to be a welcomed addition to the emerging new styles of country music in today’s diverse musical landscape. Brei Carter Contacts: Publicity & PR: Jason W. Tumblr media Tumblr media
Prediction(s): All Quiet on the Western Front/Top Gun: Maverick
It's usually a war/military movie or a musical that wins the Sound award. Topgun: Maverick seems to be a strong competitor because of the Action-filled dogfighting scenes and final combat in the climax. Western Front is also a strong contender because of the battle scenes.
Best Production Design
Nominees:
All Quiet on the Western Front – Production Design: Christian M. Goldbeck; Set Decoration: Ernestine Hipper
Avatar: The Way of Water – Production Design: Dylan Cole and Ben Procter; Set Decoration: Vanessa Cole
Babylon – Production Design: Florencia Martin; Set Decoration: Anthony Carlino
Elvis – Production Design: Catherine Martin and Karen Murphy; Set Decoration: Bev Dunn
The Fabelmans – Production Design: Rick Carter; Set Decoration: Karen O'Hara
Tumblr media
Prediction: Elvis
From the 1950s to the 1970s, the sets well-exhibit the story of the King of Rock n Roll - from his home to the carnivals to the stadiums to the TV and recording studios to the lavishing hotels of Las Vegas.
Best Cinematography
Nominees:
All Quiet on the Western Front – James Friend
Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths – Darius Khondji
Elvis – Mandy Walker
Empire of Light – Roger Deakins
Tár – Florian Hoffmeister
Tumblr media
Prediction: All Quiet on The Western Front
It's because the camera work of James Friend captures the horrors of the First World War. The fighting in broad daylight is realistic and gives chills every time you see it.

Nominees:
All Quiet on the Western Front – Heike Merker and Linda Eisenhamerová

Elvis – Mark Coulier, Jason Baird, and Aldo Signoretti
The Whale – Adrien Morot, Judy Chin, and Anne Marie Bradley

Babylon – Mary Zophres
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Ruth E. Carter
Elvis – Catherine Martin
Everything Everywhere All at Once – Shirley Kurata

Elvis – Matt Villa and Jonathan Redmond
Everything Everywhere All at Once – Paul Rogers
Tár – Monika Willi
Top Gun: Maverick – Eddie Hamilton
Tumblr media
Prediction: Top Gun: Maverick
The editing of the sortie scenes and the final aerial battle is what makes the Top Gun sequel the ultimate winner of the editing award.
Best Visual Effects
Nominees:
All Quiet on the Western Front – Frank Petzold, Viktor Müller, Markus Frank, and Kamil Jafar
Avatar: The Way of Water – Joe Letteri, Richard Baneham, Eric Saindon, and Daniel Barrett
The Batman – Dan Lemmon, Russell Earl, Anders Langlands, and Dominic Tuohy
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Geoffrey Baumann, Craig Hammack, R. Christopher White, and Dan Sudick
Top Gun: Maverick – Ryan Tudhope, Seth Hill, Bryan Litson, and Scott R. Fisher
Tumblr media
Prediction: Avatar: The Way of Water
Cameron's film can become the first sequel to win the same award in this category. The beautiful visuals of the world of Pandora would surely take the trophy home.

Here are the US representatives who voted against the US pro-LGBT+ Equality Act
Tumblr media
The US Equality Act is to outlaw discrimination against LGBTQ people in housing, credit, jury service, public accommodations, and federal funding.
The House of Representatives passed the legislation yesterday, but it is unlikely that the Senate will follow up, given the Republican Party's increasing hostility to queer people. They are currently weaponizing transphobia in an attempt at mobilizing their base.
In the Senate the bill will require at least 10 Republicans to vote with all Democrats to advance past the so-called filibuster.
Metro Weekly has listed the representatives that voted against the law in the House.

Please never vote for any of these people again
Sorry, St Bluebell isn’t here today.  Besides how much I hate Hobby Lobby, the one potentially rage inducing issue I bring up on this site is voting.  After I have encouraged all of you to register and cast your votes, these people voted to nullify the election results in states where their candidate didn’t win.  They did so *after* the assault on the Capitol Building, after they had seen the consequences of their attempt to undermine the peaceful transfer of power in this country.
Every year our government becomes more powerful, gains more power over the daily lives of its citizens.  Its knows where you live, it knows who you talk to on the phone, it knows what library books you checked out, it knows what you had for breakfast.  The most important issue facing us today is whether we, the people, will ensure that we have a government we can trust before we lose all control of it.  Every single one of these people should be primaried by their own party and never allowed to hold any public office again.
