Pookie I’m thinking about obsessed loser Grant and Jason who doesn’t know he exists again 😔 I know when you wrote that little thing and sent it to me before it was like a high school AU. And now I’m thinking about Grant finding out that Dick is Jason‘s older brother in that specific context. But I can’t figure out what the Grant-Titans beef would be.

I just know that Grant was SO UPSET when he found out. 

THEMMMM Really funny if Grant's main goal at Gotham Prep is to become the quarterback, but Dick knocks him right out of top spot. And as a punishment for losing, Gym teacher Slade relegates him to water boy. So he absolutely hates Dick, and makes it his mission to make him and the Titans (their team name) lives miserable.

So you see the most beautiful creature that's ever existed, someone who's just been moved up into your grade because on top of stepping straight out of a Michaelangelo painting he's also a genius, only to find out that he's your arch nemesis' little brother. The asshole you've made life hell for since freshman year is neurotically protective of the love of your life. Grant's in shambles, but he won't let that stop him.

Especially when Grant gets Jason a job interning at Kane Corp. Not that Jason knows that. Adeline has never seen Grant so interested in the family business.

What even were they? Dick doesn't like to think about it too much, Slade had been a mistake.

Grant's eyebrow raises to his hairline, he gapes, then contorts his face in disgust.

“Shit, you two fucked, didn't you?”

Dick winces.

“My condolences, honestly,” Grant says, eyebrows raised.

So I told @autisticrosewilson about Orange Juice by Noah Kahan being Jayroy coded (this morning and apparently at some point before according to them) but I’ve been thinking more about other songs of his and I’ve come to the conclusion that almost all of his songs are Jason and a partner of choice coded. They all have that “I’m fucked up, you’re fucked up, let’s be fucked up together until we inevitably fuck this up too” vibe.

Unfortunately I have been infected with chronic “can’t let Jason Todd be happy” disease 😔 you know who to blame

Jason survived the Joker (disabled Jason is real to ME)/Lazarus Pit! Gant (pit side effects + meta gene = chaos for everyone involved)

Camp au! Jason is sent to some rich person summer camp for the summer and meets Grant who had to choose between staying with his dad or spending the summer networking for the sake of Kane Industries (this is the lesser of two evils)

Patrochilles au, Grant is Prideful, strong, born from kings and gods. Jason is bursting with love that has never been reciprocated and has had his hands stained with blood long before the war. (Gay pining, tragedy, and ancient Greece. What more could you ask for?)

"I ship my adversary x me" inspired: due to the unrelenting, unavoidable and unfathomable nature of fandom, there's the Capes fandom. Meaning, basically all heroes, vigilantes and even supervillains have a fandom. And where's a fandom, there's shippers.

And there're fans that ship, specifically, Jason and...

(look, I just want a "ISMAM" AU with Jason, so I don't know yet who that adversary would be. The options - I am writing them down as I go:

1) Dick Grayson or Tim Drake.

In the novel, the MC and ML debuted at the same time. Due to awkward timing of Jason's first appearances, he doesn't really have someone who debuted at the same time as he did, with any ties to Red Hood at least. Those two are closest to "adversary + more or less the same age + from the same company" where by company I mean Gotham.

2) Bruce.

I mean. Not the same level at all but very much an adversary and, if there was a dumbass who would offer to keep Jason to save him from being kept by someone else, it's certainly Bruce. I just can imagine Bruce overhearing Jason on the phone with Talia and misinterpreting it in that way. Of course, Bruce would try to save Jason from himself.

3) Roy Harper as Arsenal.

Him taking this identity on maybe could be tied in time to Red Hood's appearance in this AU. And the same company would be the Outlaws or Rent-a-bat?

4) Grant Wilson

Fuck it I am bringing him back with the same reality-shattering punch as Jason. He takes some time to recover and get his head around things and figuring out his road to redemption.

They both take the same niche of deadly vigilantes so that's where perceived animosity stems from.

Also, in this AU, once, they have to work together and Grant overhears Jason on the phone with Slade. Of course Grant would try to steal his father's pet from him (not realizing that Jason is the one who keeps Slade on retainer - for combat training and, sometimes, for backup/evac).

5) Aged-up Damian

Damian arrives at Gotham the same time Jason is adopted and becomes Robin. Damian becomes Robin too. They have codenames, but because Damian is a little shit, he forces Jason to be Robin 3 and Damian takes the Robin 2 (Dick keeping a honorary Robin 1 title even after he becomes Nightwing).

Pros: Damian is better trained and talented than Jason so no surprise he has more fans, just like ML and MC in the novel. He also has annoying relatives who probably do try to blackmail him: a grandfather in this case rather a father and stepmother.

Cons: who Damian would try to save him from? Robin!Jason could only be 'kept' by Bruce. Heeey it actually fits. The "resources" are training, gadgets, weapons instead of roles and auditions.

Jason and Grant college roommate au but with trans Jason. And logically he knows Jason was not always His Bro but he cannot conceptualize Jason as anything else. He technically knows Jason's dead name by virtue of knowing he was Bruce's second ward but he literally forgot it the millisecond it registered so he actually doesn't.

Anyway this leads to an interesting scenario when Bruce or Dick (who Jason has been no contact with for a few years) are like "where is Medea, I know my sister/daughter is in there" and Grant "Number One Himbo" Wilson is like "uhhhhh what the fuck are you talking about. You have the wrong house." And just closed the door.

Jason wakes up to get ready for his night class with 24324323 missed calls and messages.

Didn’t quite want to interrupt it this time, but... here you go!

“Fuck family,” Grant muttered, slamming down his drink on the coffee table. 

“Fuck family,” agreed Jason fervently from the couch. 

Grant wasn’t exactly sure why they’d started doing this, but all he knew was whenever the holiday’s rolled around and everyone else became obsessed and mushy mushy with family and no time for anyone else… well, Grant sure as fuck wasn’t going to spending time with his family and neither was Jason so they’d started hanging out on Holidays. 

Or more often, drinking themselves blind. 

Grant likes Jason’s place. It was neat and orderly with a splash of just enough weapons to make it dangerous in an immensely appealing way. Not military regulation neat though which meant Grant could relax in it, but still… homey. 

Jason’s nice too. Or well, not nice, but that little mean streak is sort of what Grant liked. 

“Who even needs that shit anyway?” Grant grumbled, refilling his drink. He should probably slow down, but…

Joey had begged him to come home. To spend time with their mom and endure her scathing comments and comparisons to his father. To go make nice with their father’s bastard sister. To pretend like their father wasn’t going to show up sometime even if he wasn’t invited and say or do something once again that proved Grant wasn’t good enough-

He tossed back the drink in one go and let the heat of the alcohol smoother the anger and hurt in his belly. 

Jason took another drink himself, glaring distantly out the window, and Grant mused again how nice it was to be doing this with someone who got it on a level no one else ever had. 

Grant swayed a little and put out a hand to steady himself, and accidentally setting it on Jason’s thigh instead of the couch. Warm and big and strong, under Grant’s fingers. 

“Geez, you never skimp on leg-day, huh,” Grant said a little stupidly, blinking down at his hand on Jason’s thigh.

“TRy not to be too jealous,” Jason smirked back at him.

Jason had a nice mouth. All board and soft looking and Grant felt himself leaning slightly closer. His eyes flickered up to meet Jason’s, all dark and blue with little flecks of green in them. Jason was leaning a bit towards him too. Grant’s eyes flickered back towards his mouth. 

“This is a bad idea,” Jason breathed, and Grant could feel the warmth of it on his skin, they were so close. 

“Yeah,” he agreed, and kissed him. 

He was right, Jason’s lips were soft. Soft and warm. It soothed an ache somewhere deep in his chest, and Grant brought up a hesitant hand to Jason’s face and deepened the kiss. 

Jason made the smallest of sounds, caught on the edge of a shuddering breath. It made a different sort of heat start to curl in his stomach. 

“Want to stop?” Grant asked against his mouth. 

Jason stared at him a moment, before taking the drink out of Grant’s hand and pulling it back to his thigh. 

Grant swallowed and bit, and Jason grinned slow and dangerous. 

Grant kissed him again.

Okay, I need to scream at u about how I love ur fics for a little bit. Hope you don't mind. U have single handedly hooked me on jaygrant but I can't even be mad bc ur fics r so good. I especially love Jaygrant in assassin x family and love me as I am or not at all. Especially in those two idk y but they really remind me of Redcrackle from carmen sandiego and I mean that as the highest compliment I could possibly give because I adore redcrackle. Also so what's your type? is one of the if not the funniest fics I have ever read. Kiss or kill and The dinner guest were also quite funny and I particularly enjoyed kok's identity shenanigans and tdg's specific brand of jaygrant. I also adored my story is mine to write. I love when people use Shiva as Jason's bio mother and I loved seeing the wilson's shenanigans as Medea grew up. Especially the time Medea tried to hire Deathstroke to save her dad. But also, this fic's love triangle between kon, medea and wally was so fun and entertaining. I was kinda sad when Kon and Medea broke up but not too sad since I knew that then Wally had a chance. I am always thinking about them but especially the in universe fandoms Makaria x Flash definitely has. I mean we already kind of saw it. And how could I forget Inertia's crush. It was so funny. And also, Medea and Wally remind me so much of "What do i have to do?" by austin Moon and R5. Anyways, I hope I wasn't a bother, I love ur work, have a good day!!!! <3

I am a huge fan of GH and watching GH  without Grant last night was hard, because he was not with Jason, I'm used to seeing these two guys going through a place and searching and this was the first episode with no Grant only Jason. I'm going to miss Grant but hope that this will not be the end of him appearing on the show here and there. They are all a great team and yes they will always be a team but hopefully he comes back once in a while, just watching him you can tell he does love this stuff and he won't be able to stay away, not if it's something you really love. It's still a good show and will continue to watch just going to be hard without one member of the team.

For a Selkie!Jason au, JayGrant, A/B/O verse, an idea came up to me a shook me in the shoulders.

You have Dick, visiting his brother because for some reason he hasn't been around as much lately to be his annoying younger brother self.

And when he knocks on the door the man who answers isn't Jason, instead Dick sees this scowling, grumpy looking guy looming over him.

And he's— he's wearing Jason’s coat.

Dick immediately starts panicking because what the hell? Jason doesn't let them have his coat. Never. Why is this random, intimidating guy —who looks vaguely like Slade— wearing it?

Is he threatening him with it? Did he claim it in a fight and now he's holding it over Jason’s head and treating him like a slave?

Anyway— misunderstandings happen, Dick manages to offend Grant in 5 different ways in the same sentence.

When Jason gets there he's like what the hell are you doing threatening my mate?

Because Grant has Jason’s coat, because Jason gave it to him, because he wants— no, needs his partner and awaiting pup to be warm and safe, it's in his instincts.

Hence Grant wearing a shit eating grin over this and Dick having many conflicted feelings about this new mate
