What's your favorite bit of Captain Marvel lore?
Ooh that's a tough question!
I think my current favorite bit of lore is that when Billy saved Freddy's life by sharing his powers with him, he unknowingly caused Freddy's brother Kit to die. But because he wasn't supposed to die he was granted ghost powers and became Kid Eternity!
An extra bit of lore that I always find funny is that the Sivanas lived on Venus for a time and Beautia was even the Empress of Venus!

BILLY BATSON WEEK 2023 DAY 4: BEST STORYLINE ✦ THE PRE-CRISIS KID ETERNITY ARC → "We'll be ready to whip them again... any time they care to challenge us!"
During some recent close calls, the Marvel Family has been aided by surprise allies from history, only for them to leave mysteriously afterwards. They soon discover that the helpful legends are being summoned by no other than Kid Eternity, who is revealed to be Captain Marvel Jr.'s lost brother, Kit. Reunited again and alongside Captain Marvel and Mary Marvel, the brothers face their upcoming battles as a united front.
All issues from this storyline have been collected and restored within the third volume of SHAZAM! The World's Mightiest Mortal, published 2019.

Just a reminder, folks. The Lords of Order are not the good guys. What they are is written on the tin, and that can be just as sinister as chaos.

Kid Infinity! (DP/Shazam)
So this is a ‘Danny is adopted’ AU. He was found by the Fentons on one of their ghost hunts (just so perfectly right there- def not sus). I’d say ten or younger, if on the older end he has some (convenient) amnesia. The Fentons roll right along and adopt him, probably blaming ghosts for him being alone. (They might even be right- sort of)
Danny grows up a Fenton, has his accident, becomes Phantom as in canon. But when he gets cloned and Dani needs to be stabilized he’s told that he needs a sample from a biological relative that’s fully alive (for reasons). Cue panic over the ‘adopted’ reveal (if he didn’t know or others in Amity didn’t know -side eyes Vlad-)
They eventually end with Clockwork to find Danny’s birth family. Clockwork is acting shifty. He reluctantly admits that he stole Danny away as a child to avoid a worse timeline. In his previous timeline he still would have died as a teenager, but he would have been sort of brought back, tricked and used by evil while having no memory of his name or family. By bringing him here, Danny still died and came back but he has family and friends (and maybe a kingdom he defeated Pariah Dark for).
They are skeptical, but in a hurry, so they head off to Fawcett/Philly (depending on world) where Danny’s biological brother lives. They have an address and a name: Freddy Freeman.
Freddy is shocked to find out his little brother Kit- Christoper Freeman is still alive. Kit went missing before Freddy was in foster care, maybe. Maybe disappeared into the system. The explanation that his brother was cloned and they need help… well Freddy is really into hero stuff. After all, he is Captain Everypower/Captain Marvel Jr (depending on world). He is down to help and now Shazam and Phantom are allies (the GIW shiver in fear).
Yes, Clockwork stole the kid (Kit Freeman) who would become Kid Eternity away before he could be killed and then tricked by the Lords of Chaos and the (canon-wise!) ghost Mister Keeper. (He was a ghost in the original and 'an agent of the Chaos Lords' in the reboot) In this Mister Keeper would be a ghost working for the Chaos Lords. Kid Eternity’s powers were invisibility, intangibility, summoning spirits of the dead, flight, and a ghost form! Sounds familiar.
Clockwork wanted his King of the Infinite Realms Phantom and he made it happen.
Now Freddy has a brother, a sister (Dani), another new sister Jazz. He’s happy!
Uh, maybe Freddy’s foster parents take in Danny and Dani if the Fenton parents don’t take the reveal well?
Diana finds out her grandfather (Kronos) adopted a kid? And he’s part of Captain Marvel’s group now. Say what? Diana versus the American government (Anti-ecto acts)
Happy endings for all. Except the GIW.
So instead of Kid Eternity we have Kid Infinity!
I am imagining old Mamaragan (the wizard) and Clockwork staring each other down. Two old beings with magic staffs and a team of powered kids.

[ID: Two photos of a notebook page featuring 26 pencil sketches of DC comics characters, listed below. End ID]
dc alphabet from february? i think
Characters: Animal Man, Batman (Jace), Creeper, Deadman, Eternity Girl, Fastbak, Gotham Girl, Huntress, Iolande, Jack O’Lantern, Kid Eternity, Leander, Miracle Molly, Nightshade, Orpheus, The Question, Pantha, Rebis, Steel (Natasha), Tasmanian Devil, Ursa Major (Tam Fox), Vengeance, Wyldheart, Xanthe, Yankee Poodle, Zatanna
They were chosen based on the first character I thought of that started with each letter, so I got to draw a few characters who arent on my usual roster. With the exception of U, where i passed over Ultra the Multi-Alien (who would be better for a full-body picture) for the non-canon Ursa Major identity of Tam Fox from the new 52 valentines special.

Small doodles of Freddy And Kit
Tumblr media
This was mostly just doodling, i dont really think much of the meaning behind them, looking back at this now, Freddy is more of a jokester from his issues with the marvel family with leroy marks, so it probably doesnt make sense that kit is teasing him.
But meh, my brain wasn’t braining when i was drawing it :p
In another note, i redesigned kit slightly :p

Okay okay okay so Wolf, I am having a thought
You know how Freddy was basically brought back from the brink of death by Captain Marvel in the older comics after being attacked by the biggest loser ever (captain nazi), and he was allowed to live life with new meaning by become CM3? Do you think that ever had effects on him? To be brought back to life fully by his hero after being zapped with the living lighting, like mentally? My little headcanon is that after being given powers, a spark of the living lightning lives inside Freddy's heart, generating his powers and life force, like a little hamster running on a wheel.
Healing and resurrection often come with a price, so what I'm trying to get at here is; Do you think Jason and Freddy could form an unlikely friendship? I think these two could, despite their many differences, get along. Both have survived scenarios by awful villains that meant to kill them, but they came back stronger (with some eldritch horrors). Maybe Jason could even help Freddy pick out a name for himself that isn't derived from Captain Marvel.
Another thing, I'm not sure if I remember this right, but in the Power of Shazam comic run, apparently Freddy had joined the Titans for some time, which is making me think of some cool scenarios where he could join them or Young Justice (not the tv show) in a new story. Because, while Billy and Mary often transform into adult versions of themselves, Freddy transforms into just himself, same age, but with cool powers. It could lead him to having character development, more spotlight, making new friends, and meeting Tim, which indirectly leads to meeting Jason 👀
That is such a cool headcanon! And it gives Freddy his own special connection to the Rock of Eternity and the living lightning that is fundamentally different from how Billy (and the rest of the Marvels) understand it.
And I can totally see Freddy and Jason becoming friends, maybe not initially, but once they have a chance to get to know each other. Out of all of the Marvel fam Freddy is the most likely to understand why Jason does the things he does as Red Hood without judgment. Freddy might eventually even feel comfortable enough to tell him about his own conflicted feelings over what happened to him/his near resurrection. I can see them growing a decent friendship over time that consists of plenty of bickering but a lot of mutual respect.
And Freddy was on the Young Justice team for a while if I remembered correctly, so it wouldn't be a stretch to have him make friends with any iteration of that team. I think that it would even be good for him to grow his personal relationships outside of the Marvel fam (something that is sorely lacking in current comics).
Also I can't help but think that adding in Kit Freeman (aka Kid Eternity aka Freddy’s little brother) to the mix would be excellent. He was also brought back from the dead (with ghost powers!) He'd instantly be able to clock that Jason used to be dead what lingering effects there were because of it. Just food for thought!
