Grokio Communities is a joke

For those who don't know Grokio Communities is the network behind Grommr, Chasable, Feabie, Ferzu and Pupspace. I have only used Grommr and Chasable due to my love for plus sized men, specifically those who are proud of their size, which was what drew me to Grommr more than Chasable, I still used both since there were men on one website but not the other, however most were on both, even on Bigger City, proves how niche the chub chaser community truly is, especially in the UK where I'm from. For the last 11 years I have been on and off both of these dating websites, met numerous chubby men, however most of them turned out to be disappointing or abusive, I would never have thought a group of guys who face discrimination for their sexuality and their size could be so cruel and dismissive towards those who admire them, I would have expected them be more accepting but they are no different to the people who discriminated them to start with. I have faced a number of unkind behaviour on these websites, I've have witnessed bullying, smear campaigns, solicitation, sexual harassment, online fraud and gaslighting, most recently antisemitism, yet Grokio did little to nothing about any of these morally reprehensible acts, on the other hand, they waste no time persecuting those who say a word that triggers them regardless of the context or one wrong picture is enough. I have been suspended from both Chasable and Grommr for 7 days because of words I have used in posts, calling chubs I had interacted with "beached whales" and "overfed pompous poofters" both cases out of anger at how I was treated by them, even calling out the lack of gratitude chubs show to those who admire them. Most recently I have been permanently banned from Grommr after I expressed my frustration with the LGBTQ community and that I have grown to hate it because of how discriminatory it really is, how difficult it is to build relationships and be part of a community you identify with, but getting nowhere after so many years of trying but either feeling rejected or settling for less. But because I said what I said I was accused of being an incel which I'm not, I'm just sick and tired of being disrespected and disappointed, I'm not an entitled basement dweller. However my words once again were enough to have me permanently kicked out of Grommr. Whilst they allow those who have bullied, conned, harassed, abused, support terrorism etc they get to stay because Grokio administrators clearly follow the same rhetoric and they only care about the chubby elites who are the only ones who truly benefit whilst their admirers and lower profile chubs are seen as peasants and are disposable. So the smallest thing they do can lead to consequences no matter how unjust it is. Whilst the fat elites can get away with murder. In short Grokio is a corrupt network with inconsistent rules and loose morals. I would honestly refrain anyone from using their apps. I would be interested to hear anyone else who has faced permanent bans from their platforms over something small and didn't deserve such harsh consequences.

Personal post that no one cares about ahead:

So I organized a 15th year virtual reunion on discord for my graduating class. I had to use Facebook, which I am not a fan of, because that's the only way I have to contact them. (We were teenagers when it came out. Everyone had one.)

So I set up a group and had to message everyone who was not on my friends list. They had to be a friend so I could invite them to a group. There were 116 kids in our yearbook. I got 49 people to join the group.

Yesterday was the reunion. I had the Discord link in the Group Page. I was hoping for 20 people over the day. I got 6. 1 of them logged on then immediately logged off. I am so pissed.

It's not all bad. 4 of us had a chat for 2 hours and that was nice. I got to talk to my favorite teacher for an hour. But yeah I am upset.

The moral of the story: never do anything for anyone.

I want a fic where the rest of the yj team just vastly underestimates Robin

The one where the team doesn’t respect Robin’s seniority

Because he’s younger than all of them, because he’s a thirteen year old kid, because he often makes jokes and laughs and manages to have fun when they’re training, the rest of the team just doesn’t take him seriously. And Dick tries not to let it get to him, and even Bruce tells him that they’re being ridiculous and to not let them get to him. But he’s a kid, of course it’s going to get to him. No matter how hard he tries to let it roll off his back, he can’t help but get upset at all the little jabs about his age or his immaturity or his lack of super powers (that last one really peeves him, especially because he’s more experienced than all of them and he doesn’t need powers to be a hero, otherwise he wouldn’t have lasted this long).

But then something happens on a mission, and after the entire team has basically talked shit about him right to his face and insinuated that he’s useless and the team doesn’t need him.

Which was a huge mistake on their part, because what they didn’t realize was that the group of villains they were trying to sneak up on were Gotham rogues. And they don’t like anyone messing with their favorite little bird.

So Robin sticks back, deciding he’s not going to help them if they’re so adamant about not needing him, about him being useless because he doesn’t have powers. Fuck them. Let them figure this all out on their own.

And he has to smother his laughter, pulling the edges of his cape up to cover his mouth. Because they get the absolute shit kicked out of themselves, and they’re tied up and dangling from support beams of the warehouse they’re in. He may or may not be taking pictures to use as blackmail. And to rub in their faces once they’re back at Mount Justice.

Because Catwoman is scolding them. Finger wagging and everything. Telling them off for being mean to Robin.

She’d brought Poison Ivy as backup while trying to make a deal with Penguin, who was also going over a new plan with Riddler, and Bane had heard about them all meeting up and decided to drop by, and all of them were just pissed to hear these whiney little kiddies playing at hero talk shit about their bird. No one’s allowed to mess with the bird except for them. So they perhaps all silently decide to put on a little show for the kiddies.

So they perhaps then let Robin beat them all. Except Robin’s actually clever enough that they don’t have to even really hold back, because their bird is really that good.

He gets Penguin and Riddler tied up in record time, Bane laughs before fleeing, and then Catwoman and Poison Ivy promise to check in on Robin once he’s out on patrol with Batman before they escape.

Idk I just want the team to underestimate Robin then get their shit rocked by Gotham villains who don’t like people messing with their little birdie.

been having more aftg thoughts in the vein of why i always felt so close to it and adored it so much and i think it's bc of the stunning mental illness portrayal in how neil responds to andrew's depression.

like it's always been blatantly obvious that neil is respectful of andrew's boundaries but the focus is always on the physical sense when it's way more than just that. neil is a mouthy little bitch and while there are a few times he gets annoyed with andrew's non-answers he always knows where the line is and when there's a difference. he has every mode to fit every scenario; he figures out/judges what's needed from him and he complies.

he'll sit and chatter to andrew and coax andrew into talking to him, but he'll back off as soon as andrew tells him no or becomes silently but noticeably (at least to neil) resistant. he'll silently keep him company when the others all forget about him and not care if andrew acknowledges that company, because he's just doing it because he knows how crushing loneliness can be and doesn't want that to add to andrew's pains. alternatively he'll get up and go without complaint if andrew asks and give him as much of his own space and time as possible.

it's such basic understanding and respect but it comes so naturally to him and no one else has given that to andrew before. andrew telling neil he can bear being with him because neil listens to him and gets his boundaries and limits means so much more when you consider how much it probably means to him and how unlikely he finds it that neil of all people allows him to be quiet and distant and alone-but-not without complaint, as well as very obviously enjoying when andrew is open and present and active with him.

it's so quietly respectful and loving and such a good depiction of how easily depression can be navigated by the right partner and i think it's a large part of why their relationship has always meant so much to me

There's something I can't quite put my finger on about sebastian and his relationship to gender. how all of his conversations with the women companions are thoughtful and respectful even when they clash on the subject matter, but his conversations with the men companions are mostly just him getting mocked or berated. how every single figure of significance in his personal quest is a woman: Mrs Harriman, flora, elthina, even leliana. The chantry is a matriarchal environment where men aren't allowed to rise past a certain rank or perform certain jobs, and he seems completely unbothered by that.

he canonically used to spend a lot of time in brothels, but never mentions having any male friends. part of the trauma of his upbringing is that being born a boy made him irrelevant and unwanted at home. he's the only romanceable companion with no desire for men. Isabela asks if he used to be a woman, and varric accuses him of being a crossdresser. he's not interested in learning to use a sword; he wants to learn how to cook. the only time he ever speaks with any fondness for any man is his grandfather. i'm not really saying he's trans coded, i don't get that vibe from him, but the fraught relationship he has with manhood + his clear preference for the company of women over other men is . . . something.

ultimately when it comes to shipping and fandom space treatment of aspec characters i just don't accept "aro/ace people can still date/have sex" as an answer from nonaspecs. like yeah. mhm. okay. now i think we both know that you're not saying that out of real interest in the diversity of aspec experiences. so you can turn in your seventeen-page essay on why and how you plan to examine this character's aspec identity within the context of a romantic or sexual relationship complete with evidence from canon and peer reviews from multiple aspec people within the next week or i'm putting you in the pit from the edgar allen poe story
