Long story short, ChatGPT and I are brainstorming desserts based off flags now
(Bashar might have to lecture Dmitri on how real Gaddafi was a pious and most hospitable person though)

June 10, 2025 - The "Soumoud" convoy (meaning "steadfastness" in Arabic) with over a thousand volunteers from Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt, left Tunisia on its way to Gaza, with the goal of breaking the blockade and bringing aid to the Palestinian population being starved and bombed by the genocidal Israelis. The caravan plans to meet up with the Global March To Gaza in Cairo, Egypt.
Over 10,000 join global solidarity march for Gaza to demand end to blockade A global solidarity march for Gaza, involving over 10,000 participants from 32 countries, began on Sunday to challenge 'Israel’s' blockade of the enclave and demand an end to the ongoing war. Organized by the Global March to Gaza coalition, the campaign seeks to deliver humanitarian aid and show worldwide support for Palestinians facing genocide. The marchers, hailing from Europe, North and South America, and several Arab and Asian nations, will convene in Cairo on June 12 before heading to al-Arish in northeastern Egypt. From there, they plan to march on foot to the Rafah border crossing, where protest tents will be set up, pending approval from Egyptian authorities, who remain cautious about public demonstrations. The Algerian "Caravan of Steadfastness" was among the first to mobilize, departing Algiers on Sunday to join a Tunisian convoy. Carrying Palestinian and Tunisian flags, the group crossed into Libya via the Ras Jadir border and will travel through Tripoli, Misrata, Sirte, Benghazi, and Tobruk, aiming to reach Egypt’s Salloum crossing on June 12 and Rafah by June 15.

In 6th grade we had this assignment where everybody in class had to pick a country and make an artistic rendition of that country’s flag of some kind and do a presentation on it. Everybody in class had to pick a different country so we’d not all just pick France or something.
I chose Switzerland because I have family there and my whole family helped me with it. I sewed a flag, my grandma gave me some books to read, my dad helped me put together a professional looking poster for my presentation. I talked about the economy of Switzerland, what my family did there, how their school system works, I showed everyone pictures my family from there had shared with me. I tried too hard, if I’m being honest.
My best friend at that time chose Libya because at the time their flag was just a green rectangle. He stood in front of the class with a piece of green construction paper and read some notes he’d taken off of Wikipedia.
Gosh, I miss that guy.

Do you like the Amazigh flag?
(Maybe put in a brief thing about who the Amazigh are. Also while we're mostly alright with being called Berber, please note the preferred term is Amazigh. Thank you!
The Amazigh (also known as Berbers) are the indigenous peoples of North Africa, with a history spanning thousands of years predating the Arab conquest of the region. Their rich cultural heritage includes distinctive music, art, traditional dress, and a unique writing system called Tifinagh.
Today, Amazigh communities can be found across Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and other parts of North Africa, with numbers estimated in the tens of millions. While many now speak Arabic as their primary language, efforts to preserve and revitalize Amazigh language and culture have gained momentum in recent decades, particularly in Morocco and Algeria where Tamazight (the Amazigh language) has gained official recognition.

confession time: any time I see a ML described as "green flag loser" I want to barf a little into a bag and peace out.
I get that this is appealing to a number of people but no thank you.
First of all, I hate the green flag/red flag fixation - not only is it ridiculously reductive (and completely pointless when applied to fictional characters as opposed to real life situations. Macbeth was a red flag and so was Raskolnikov and Melmoth the Wanderer and and and. OK, fine, and now what in terms of next steps and why does it matter?) but it is also making me think you are discussing Gaddafi's Libya versus the USSR.
Secondly, loser is not appealing to me. I don't mind someone being bad at something/clumsy/etc if it makes sense for the narrative but I cannot say I find that quality specifically sexy. The whole "pathetic wet meow meow" phenomenon has clearly passed me by.
In conclusion (because rants, like all good things, come in threes), at least the way I see it used in drama fandom, any time those terms are used, you know there is a great chance of a couple where ML is obsessed with FL for no good reason and seems to have no life and dreams beside her while she cannot be too bothered, like an inverse of those Victorian novels where heroine was a beacon of angelic purity and devotion, existing for the hero (who had an actual story) and so 2-D, she'd disappear if she stood sideways. I am fine with (and even pretty into - I love dysfunction) narratives where one half is obsessed with the other half who is much less invested, provided it's written well enough to explain why this is so (see Something Happened in Bali or Love and Redemption for example), but those types of narratives I am complaining about never bother with explanations - it is because it is, have your wish fulfillment and like it! Except I don't.
end rant.

Piers Morgan was stunned when a guest claimed that Israel is plotting to a*sassinate Donald Trump and frame Iran, using the incident as a pretext to ignite a war.
The man urged Trump supporters to stay vigilant, pointing to past false flag operations that paved the way for conflicts, such as the first and second Iraq wars, the war in Libya, and the events of October 7.
This guest reminds me of Dr. Butter who was said to have died a while back and I know he had assassination attempts on him. He was one of the first I followed who was speaking out about the jabs. This guest kinda lööks and sounds just like Dr. Butter 🤔

please may I ask your view on Remembrance Day poppies?
The problem with the poppy for me is what it has come to represent, and its place as a sort of arbitrary, semi-compulsory statement that becomes meaningless precisely because it is practically enforced on anyone who appears on television during this time. It is particularly ironic that the same people who decry the left’s ’virtue signalling’ are so keen that they and everyone else should literally signal their support in such a visible way.
It is also hard to take seriously the idea of the poppy as a symbol of remembrance and peace while politicians are pinning three of them on their designer blazers then sending people off to war. It’s hard to not feel uneasy about how it is used as propaganda now, and it quite clearly does glorify war and sacrifice in many contexts. It has also become wrapped up in nationalism, flag waving and misplaced military worship more generally here in the UK.
I recognise the profound symbolism of the poppy, and agree with the sentiment behind ‘never again’ and ‘lest we forget.’ But ‘never again’ is happening right now, and our own leaders and armed forces are supporting it. We have clearly already forgotten, as we had in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in Libya, and now in Palestine. This year, Keir Starmer will wear a poppy while facilitating a genocide, just as Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss (briefly) did. The poppy as a symbol has unfortunately become a hollow farce at best, and at worst, it is a tool for propaganda and an exercise in conformity.
If you want to support veterans and their families then there are a great many charities you can support, and you can also donate directly to the Royal British Legion without wearing the poppy. You could also opt for the white poppy, which is a pacifist symbol rather than a pro-military one. It’s a personal choice in the end, but if you’re going to wear one I’d just say make sure that you’re doing it for the right reasons.
