What's your personal interpretation for the reason on Megatron keeping starscream in almost every adaptation?

I have a couple of interpretations!

1. They probably see each other the most out of everyone, at least Optimus has a bunch of different autobots to hang out with, Megatron has Starscream, and Soundwave (who has his cassettes for diversity)

Starscream has been on my mind for almost a decade, and I already love/hate that little bastard, I can't imagine him being there every single day. In close quarters. For millions of years. Im going to be projecting here a bit, but I would hate that! And although I hate them, it's better then feeling nothing towards them. Living for that long is godawful, if someone can consistently make me feel SOMETHING I would keep them around... but maybe I would abandon them on a planet for some alone time, only for a bit (knowing someone like starscream though he'll find a way back)

2. In a more alien reason, Decepticons were built to fight, they relish in war and violence, but no one else challenges Megatron, at least not as much as Starscream does. Megatron never kills Starscream (cept for that one time), Starscream never leaves, maybe its something in their programming that humans just won't understand, like how changing really messy if statements into a much more efficient for loop breaks the entire program???? I hate computers!! (Comp Sci major)

3. My most favorite reason:

The Justice League, on their way back from a deep space mission that was incredibly successful, received a distress signal from a galaxy they’re passing through.

As they investigate, they learn that a colony of a planet has been wiped out. Completely.

Slowly they piece together that there is some being out there that had been terrorizing planets, starting with colonies and then eventually going after larger settlements and home planets.

The League also learns they are not the first people to learn of this foe, or try to come up with a solution to stop them.

The colony they are inspecting has researchers on it that had fled or escaped from other planets where they piled together all they knew about their enemy, and in an attempt to sift through the mountains of data they had collected, created a device.

If a person was connected to the device, they would mentally experience the number of years required to process the data and come up with an attack plan in seconds. What the researchers had needed was time, so they created it.

As the League pieces this together, Superman sees that there is a being approaching the remnants of the colony and the defense system alerts the “remaining colonists��� of the imminent threat. Their failsafe boots up and takes the nearest person, in this case, Batman, who had been studying some of its programming, and activates.

The rest of the team didn’t have a chance to react before Batman blinks and is in motion, setting up machines and dictating code without lifting a finger.

There is no fight, because after the two seconds Bruce was in the machine he was a flurry of motion and the enemy was contained.

They ask him how long had passed for him in the machine. It takes him a full minute to respond.

“150 years.”

Current fear that has lodged deep into my soul: Everyone keeps reassuring me that it's not impossible to get accepted into PhD programs without first doing a Master's, and I want to trust them. But when I actually go and look at grad student profiles at the schools I'm applying to, they almost all have M.As or the equivalent. One of the professors I was interested in working with even outright told me that I should look into getting an M.A. first.

I cannot afford an M.A. -- I am the sole provider for both myself and my very disabled partner who cannot work. It's PhD or bust, and I'm very scared I'm wasting my time applying for these programs. And that I may be locked out of a career path I'd really love entirely because I don't have the money for it.

Here’s my piece for Kaninja 2024!!! I make a tradition to do a big art piece for this mosquito every year to see if I can improve. This was the year of after effects for me so here we go :)

It’s only an (imperfect) looping, live 2D animation. I originally wanted to do a more complex video, but time wasn’t on my side :< excuse the stiffness in his cape too, I ran out of RAM and nearly crashed after effects trying to make it more smooth oops

idk if this is a hot take but ive seen so many have decided kinito's a trans guy and i love that

but let me raise you my headcanon............

he's a trans dude in the sense that while he was assigned male when created he never really. had a gender? as a computer program? he just was? so when more information about trans people and more trans people became open online he saw it and went. wait... what am i, then?

and decided he sorta resonated with something between nonbinary and trans guys from what he saw online. if he were to draw himself anthro he'd give himself top scars because he just thinks that's a marking all transmasc people have <3

I hope the protoframes remain relevant even after this story arc for the Drifter concludes, but I also recognize how complicated things would get with how many characters they could keep trying to make stay relevant, leading to a Konoha 13 Naruto type situation where we have too many relevant characters from Umbra & Ordis all the way to Kaya Velasco.
