Beyond The Classroom
Pt. 1
I don’t expect this one to be very popular, this is a self indulgent piece 🫡
Summary: Once a Little Eagle, always a Little Eagle. Melissa keeps that promise to you year after year as she shows up for you in every possible way.
Warnings: Child abuse, neglect, abandonment, over all sad stuff (Mel makes it better!)
WC: 3.9k
Notes: Wrote this because it’s the week before Mother’s Day and I just want my mama (she’s an awful human being and will never be a part of my life again, 6 years no contact). Melissa is a comfort character for me, so I’m using this as a hug from her. I know there are plenty of other people with bad relationships with their moms (gotta love mommy issues), so I thought I’d share in case someone else would also like this hug.
I see you, I love you.
P.s. This story is about 85% based on events I experienced as a child/young adult. I’m thankful every day for the teachers who stepped in to be the parents I didn’t have.
You grew up in a not-so-wonderful household with abusive parents and older siblings who wouldn’t have noticed if you had decided to run away one day. Melissa Schemmenti knew. She was the one person you felt you could confide in as a child. She called CPS on your parents a handful of times during the year she taught you, in hopes of keeping you safe. Unfortunately, with a broken system and a mother who could sweet talk The Devil himself, your parents got off scot-free, leaving you to deal with the aftermath each time.
You would go into school the next day with a new bruise and tears in your eyes. Melissa would hold you close and let you cry all you could before pulling a chair up next to her own so you could be near your safe person all day. When it came time for dismissal, she would hug you extra tight and send a silent prayer to God that you’d walk through the doors again in the morning. On Fridays, she would sneak a Tupperware container of homemade food and a handful of snacks into your bag with a note that said ‘love you, kid’, knowing that your parents restricted your access to food and that she was probably the only person you heard those words from most days. The world sat heavy on your second grader shoulders and Melissa did everything she knew how to make it a little lighter.
Even as you moved on past second grade, Ms. Schemmenti was there. She would check in with each of your teachers at the beginning on the school year and pop in to say hello at lunch from time to time. If you had a particularly rough night at home you would stop by her room and ask her to hold you for a minute before other students arrived. She always obliged.
The day you moved on to middle school, Melissa cried right along with you. Both of you knew she wouldn’t be able to hug the hurt away or keep tabs on you as often. Of course, she made sure you knew how much she loved you, she gave you her personal phone number and said, “No matter how old you get or how far you go, you’ll always be my favorite little eagle. I’ll always be here for you if you need me and I mean it. If things go south at home, you call me and I’ll be there in a heartbeat. You’re gonna be okay.”
As the years passed, Melissa made sure she remained a constant- the only constant, really- in your life. Through your middle school years she became your tutor, meeting you at your school’s library every Thursday after dismissal to help you with your homework. Of course, those sessions were always a little more than just help with homework; she would bring you food and make sure you had clean clothes and basic necessities. One time you let it slip that your mother had ‘forgotten’ to buy you toothpaste and she dropped off a small bag of Colgate tubes on your front porch that night.
When you entered high school, Melissa made an effort to show up for every one of your art shows and track meets. Your parents never even made it to one, but Schemmenti was there. She always was. Your high school teachers even began to think Melissa was your mother; you never corrected them. And when you started working at the hoagie stand your sophomore year, Ms. Schemmenti would stop by once a week to have dinner with you.
The physical abuse dwindled a little as you got older and were able to fight back, but the verbal abuse got worse as a result. At one point during you senior year, your mother kicked you out after throwing a fit about you not inviting her to see you try on prom dresses. You called Melissa and she drove forty-five minutes at three in the morning to get you. Your mother knocked you to the ground and pulled fistfuls of hair, creating a tangled mess. When you were finally able to get her off of you, she screamed at you the entire time you packed your bag.
“FUCK YOU Y/N, YOU SELFISH BITCH! Couldn’t even include YOUR OWN MOTHER! It hurts, it’s almost like not getting invited to your WEDDING!” You dodged books and trinkets she threw at you as you tossed whatever sentimental things you could think of into trash bags to take with you. Photos of your grandparents, your favorite stuffed animal, and some of your artworks made it in before you heard Melissa honking in the driveway.
“You’ve never been my mom,” you seethed with tears streaming down your face as you dragged your bags down the stairs.
She blocked you from leaving at the bottom of the stairs and backhanded you, her ring catching the tender skin beneath your eye. You yelped in pain and stumbled forward, she grabbed you by the throat and squeezed. “You walk out that door and NEVER come back, you hear me? You are worthless, a waste of space and air.” She dug her nails into your skin before she released you and practically pushed you through the front door.
“You’ll never have to deal with me again. You want me out? I’m out.”
Your father followed behind with his fists balled up, “If you ever come back, it’ll be the last time you see daylight!”
Melissa waited for you by the car with her baseball bat, ready to swing if need be. Once your bags were in the backseat, Melissa tossed her baseball bat into the trunk and drove off. Your mother chased the car all the way down the driveway calling you every derogatory thing she could come up with.
The drive to Melissa’s house was silent save for the occasional quiet aob from both parties. Once you arrived, Melissa took your bags inside and walked you up the stairs to her bathroom to nurse your wounds. You winced as she swabbed your cheek with isopropyl alcohol and she frowned. “I’m so sorry, hon. I’m sorry I wasn’t there sooner to stop her.”
“Don’t be, you still showed up when I needed you. It coulda been a lot worse. Thank you,” you cried as you leaned your head against her stomach just like when you were a second grader.
She held you until your tears dried then left the room to grab a change of clothes for you. Moments later, she handed you a pair of her sweatpants and an oversized Eagles t-shirt. “You can take the bed tonight, I’ll sleep on the couch. My spare room doesn’t have a bed right now, but we can fix that tomorrow after I call out of work. You need anything before I head down, kid?”
You looked at the ground, embarrassed to even ask, “Would you maybe… would it be okay if…. never mind, it’s stupid.” You shook your head and climbed under the comforter, it smelled like Melissa.
She somehow knew exactly what you were asking without hearing the words. She climbed into the bed and lifted an arm for you to scoot in. “Of course, sweet girl, it’s not stupid at all. I’ll keep you safe, promise. Try to get some sleep, I’ll be right here.” You settled into her embrace and took a deep breath.
You whispered, “I love you, thank you.”
“I love you too, baby girl. Sleep tight,” she whispered back before pressing a kiss to the top of your head. Sleep was the last thing on her mind as she held you, watching as the rise of your chest slowed. She stayed awake the whole night, guarding your peace.
Late the following morning, you woke up to an empty bed and the sound of people in the house. You popped your head out into the hallway to see Melissa directing three men where to go with the new bed set. She heard the door creak and looked over at you with an apologetic smile, “Hey, hon, sorry to wake you! They’ll be outta here shortly. I called your school and work to let them know you wouldn’t be in for a few days so you don’t have to worry about it. I washed the clothes that were in your backpack, they’re sitting by my bathroom. There’s also a clean towel for you and a new toothbrush on the counter. You’re welcome to use my hairbrush and whatever else you need.” You smiled back at her and closed the door.
You picked an outfit from the pile of folded clothes and shut the bathroom door to shower. Your body was sore from the adrenaline and you groaned in pain as you shed your pajamas. Standing naked in the mirror, you looked over the marks your mother left on you. The nail marks on your neck were already scabbed over, but the gash under your eye was bruised and definitely going to leave a scar. You traced your fingers along each mark, tears forming in your eyes. The shower was hot enough to leave your skin red, you wanted to burn away any remnants of what happened to you. You sobbed loudly as you tried to detangle the mess of hair your mother created, it hurt and you were so worried that you’s just have to cut it all off.
There was a soft knock at the door. “Ya decent?” You opened the door for her and she gently took the brush from your hands. She directed you to sit backwards on the toilet while she worked at the knots on your head. You nearly fell asleep sitting there as she hummed and massaged conditioner into your hair, working diligently to make sure you kept your beautiful hair.
“You sleep okay,” She asked as she rinsed your hair in the sink.
“That was the best sleep I’ve had in a very long time. I haven’t slept in a bed in months, it was so soft.” You said it like it was nothing.
She paused. “Whatduya mean you haven’t slept in a bed in months?”
You sighed deeply. “They took my bed away because they said I was a whore and didn’t deserve one. I told them that I’m a virgin and they took the door off of my room, callin’ me a liar.” You hadn’t told her that detail when you saw her at one of your track meets a few months before. You figured you’d shared enough heartbreaking details with the woman, she didn’t need to be even more worried about you.
Hot tears silently flowed down her cheeks. She was angry. Not at you for not telling her, but at the low-lifes you called parents. “You gotta be fuckin’ kiddin’ me,” she spat. She was ready to call in one of her favors from The Tire Iron. “Well I’ll tell ya one thing, kiddo, you ain’t goin’ back there ever again. You’ll never be without ‘long as I’m around, ya got it? And you’re welcome to stay here for as long as you want, no strings attached.”
You choked back your own tears. “Thanks, Ms. Schemmenti. I truly appreciate you.” She wrapped your hair in a towel and you turned to hug her. “What would I do without you?”
“Starve, apparently,” she teased when your stomach growled loudly. She grabbed your chin to look at you, “And no more ‘Ms. Schemmenti’. You can call me Melissa, Mel, Aunt Mel, whatever you want, just not that. You’re family, kid. Now c’mon, I’ll make you something to eat before we head out for a shopping trip.”
“Yes ma’am.”
Her brow furrowed, “You tryin’ to make me feel old? None of that ma’am stuff either.” You giggled and followed her down to the kitchen.
She made French toast and sausage and you devoured the meal in just a few bites. Satisfied with you having eaten, she grabbed her purse, dragged you to the car and pulled out of the driveway. Along the way, she asked you to make a list of anything you might need or want. You took your phone out and looked at it for the first time that day. The screen was full of awful messages from both of your parents and extended family members. You chose to clear the screen and turn off notifications without reading them all and opened your notes app to jot down a few things you knew you missed when packing bags.
Melissa pulled into the mall parking lot and looked over at you, “You look like you’ve seen a ghost, what happened?”
You rubbed your eyes and tried to fake a smile, “Nothin’, I’m just tired.” She knew you well enough to know when you were lying, but she wasn’t going to push you on the subject.
“Mkay, kid. If you decide you wanna talk about it, you know I’ll always listen. And you know I’d kill for ya.” She gently nudged you with her elbow and the two of you made your way into the mall. You showed her your list and she took charge, guiding you around to every clearance rack and bargain bin in the vicinity. You paid for the majority of your new finds, but she insisted on helping with funds here and there. Many stores later Melissa stopped for a bathroom break and you found yourself in front of Auntie Anne’s. Remembering how much she loved soft pretzels- she’d get one every field trip- you decided to buy two, one for each of you. It was a very small token of gratitude, but you knew she’d be excited.
When she exited the bathroom, she scanned the food court for you and found you sitting at a table with all the bags. She sat down across from you and you pushed the soft pretzel her way with a little cup of honey mustard, “Thank you for today. Normally I hate shopping, but you made it fun.”
She gave you an upside down smile and took a bite. “I’m glad I could be a good distraction for ya, hon. And thank you for this!” She clinked her pretzel with yours to ‘cheers’ the day. As you finished your pretzels in silence while people watching, a dress shop on the upper level caught your eye. Despite trying on prom dresses, you never actually bought one.
Melissa‘s eyes followed your gaze and when she spotted the shop she knew what she was going to do. “Hey, I know you said you normally hate shopping, but since we’ve been having so much fun today… why don’t we keep the fun going and go pick out your prom dress? It’s what, two weeks out?”
You shook your head, “Nah, I can’t afford it now that I’ve spent half my savings on shit I needed today. Besides, I got to do prom last year, I’m alright missing out on this one.” You played with the straw in your drink absentmindedly and took the last bite of your pretzel.
Melissa thought back to the conversations she had with you about how excited you were for your senior prom. You buzzed about it every time the two of you spoke for months, it broke her heart to see you resign to not going. “My treat, hon. And I ain’t takin’ no for an answer, I know how bad you wanna go. C’mon,” she said as she prodded you up and dragged you to the dress shop.
You spent about an hour browsing and trying on different dresses, even somehow convinced Melissa to try one on with you for shits and giggles. You pretended not to see her sneak a picture in the mirror of the two of you in the matching dresses, a sweet moment she wanted to remember forever. Finally, you found the right one. The a-line strapless dress stopped mid calf, it was wine red and fit like a dream. When you emerged from the dressing room to show her, she gasped.
“Oh, beautiful girl! My favorite little eagle isn’t so little anymore.” She stuck her bottom lip out in an upside down smile as she reached to tuck your hair away from your eyes. She took a small step back and asked you to spin so she could see it all. The smile on your face told her you made your choice. With misty eyes she pulled you into a tight hug, limiting your ability to breathe.
“I can’t… breathe… help,” you choked out. The redhead lessened her squeeze and apologized but didn’t let go, she needed that moment to collect herself. You stood there embracing each other for a couple of minutes before Melissa finally released you. Once you changed back into your clothes, she took the dress to the register and paid.
You walked out together and stuffed all the bags in the trunk, laying the dress flat in the backseat. “Thank you. For everything, Aunt Mel. For a few hours, it didn’t feel like my world was crashing down around me. I’m lucky to have you.”
She kissed her fingers and then pressed them to your cheek before she started driving. “I’m pretty lucky to have you too, kid. And I’ll always be here to pick up the pieces when you need me.”
The drive back to Melissa’s house was quiet, aside from the classic rock station playing the weekly hits countdown. You checked your silenced notifications to see even more messages and missed calls from your family, Melissa glanced over and saw them too. “If you want, we can change your number this week, that way they can’t bother you anymore,” Melissa offered.
“They still pay for my phone, I can’t. They’d cancel my service the moment they found out.” You shoved your phone back into your pocket.
“Then I’ll just move you over to my cell plan. They don’t deserve the power they have over you, hon.” You opened your mouth to protest but stopped when she pointed at you. “Let me help, please. Because I can and I want to.”
“Thanks, Aunt Mel.”
A few minutes later you arrived back at the townhouse and dragged all of your new belongings up to your new room, hanging up the dress immediately. Melissa said she’d help you make the bed and get settled once she got dinner in the oven. While she was working in the kitchen, you curled up on the couch and flipped the TV on, settling on ‘Rick Steves’ Europe’ reruns. Rick’s comforting voice began to lull you to sleeping and you didn’t have the energy to fight it.
Melissa walked in to tell you she was ready and found you fast asleep. Her heart melted at the sight. She draped the couch blanket over you and lightly tucked it in so as to not disturb your slumber. ‘How could anyone hurt something so precious,’ she thought to herself. After she tucked you in, she made her way upstairs to gather your new sheets and comforter to wash them before starting on the rest of the room.
She grabbed the basket of your clothes from her own room and began to hang them up in your closet. Once she finished the task, she cleaned out the dresser and filled it with your socks, pants, and undergarments. One by one, she removed her family photos from the walls and replaced them with the handful of framed photos you brought with you. She recognized your grandparents’ photo from the one time she had met them at the beginning of your second grade year, right before they passed. They were your best friends, you were safe when they were around. Melissa decided to place the picture on your nightstand so that they’d be watching over you every night. Lastly, she organized your toiletries in the guest bathroom and set out a fresh set of towels and one of her robes.
Satisfied with her progress, she took a short break to check on you, change over the laundry, and take out the lasagna. You were still asleep and she didn’t want to disturb you so she ate alone in the dining room and texted her mother.
Mel: Hey, Ma. You mind setting an extra place at the table for family dinner on Sunday?
-Ma: Hot date?
-Mel: Nah. You remember me telling you about Y/N?
-Ma: You’ve talked about her for the last ten years, yeah I remember. Is the poor kid okay? Her parents treating her like shit again?
-Mel: They kicked her to the curb, said she wasn’t welcome back. She’s staying with me for as long as she needs to.
-Ma: Of course I’ll set an extra place for her, Amore. She need anything? You need anything?
-Mel: She needs all the love she can get, just make her feel like family. I’ve got everything else handled. Thanks, Ma.
-Ma: We can do that. Talk soon.
She finished her meal and gathered the clean bedding from the laundry room, making her way back upstairs to make your bed. Once the sheets were on, she fluffed the comforter and pillows before opening your backpack to retrieve your favorite stuffed animal, Mr. Bunz. Even at eighteen, you slept with him tucked in your arms every night. She hugged the well-loved bunny to her heart and thought back to the day she gave him to you. Right before holiday break your third grade year, she pulled you aside at dismissal and tucked him into your backpack. She told you to give him a hug whenever you needed to feel loved and she wasn’t around to give you a hug herself. Little did she know, that was the only gift you received that year.
Melissa placed him in the middle of the pillows, like the cherry on top, and went back downstairs to wake you for dinner. She sat on the arm of the couch and gently began to run her fingers through your hair. “You need to eat somethin’, sweetheart,” she whispered as your eyes fluttered open. You stretched and sat up, leaning your head against her leg.
“What time is it?”
“About 7:30. You’ve been through a lot the last 24 hours, figured you could use the rest. I got your room all set up for ya. I’ll heat up your plate and we can watch a movie before bed. How’s that sound?”
You rolled off the couch and rubbed your eyes. “Sounds good,” you yawned. You followed the redhead into the kitchen and sat at the counter. She warmed your plate in the microwave and placed it in front of you with a glass of water. You demolished your meal like you hadn’t eaten in days, complimenting her cooking after every other bite. You washed your dishes and then made your way back to the living room, joined by Melissa. She turned on one of your favorite comedy movies and watched the light return to your eyes a little more with each scene.
Sitting there, laughing at the stupid jokes on the screen with the closest thing you’ve ever had to a real mom, with a full stomach and a warm bed waiting for you upstairs, you realized something.
For the first time in your eighteen years of life, you were finally home.

How Haryana Schools Are Preparing Students for the Digital Age
In today's modern world, digital skills are becoming just as important as reading, writing, and math's. From using mobile phones to learning online, technology is a big part of daily life. That’s why schools in Haryana are working hard to prepare their students for the digital future. They are using smart classrooms, teaching computer basics, and giving students opportunities to learn new-age skills like coding and online research. Now, many parents choose the best school in Haryana not just for academics, but also for how well the school prepares their children to use digital tools. Being ready for the digital world means being ready for a better future.

Why Digital Education Matters
Digital education helps students learn faster, better, and more creatively. With smart boards, videos, and online lessons, students can understand difficult topics more easily. They can also revise lessons at their own pace using educational apps.
Here are some key benefits of digital learning:
Better understanding through visuals and animations
Faster access to information beyond the textbook
Creative expression through digital tools like drawing and presentation apps
Basic tech knowledge that helps in higher studies and jobs
Online safety awareness, like not sharing passwords or clicking unsafe links
A top school in Haryana makes sure students get all these benefits while learning.
How Haryana Schools Are Adopting Digital Tools
Haryana schools are taking many steps to include digital education in their regular teaching methods. Some of these steps are:
1. Smart Classrooms
Smart classrooms have digital boards, projectors, or screens. Teachers use these tools to show videos and presentations. This keeps students interested and makes learning more fun.
2. Computer Labs and Training
Most schools now have computer labs where students learn how to use a keyboard, mouse, MS Office tools, and internet browsers. These are useful life skills that every child must know in the digital age.
3. Online Assignments and Homework
Some schools have started giving homework through school apps or websites. Students type and submit their answers online. This helps them learn how to use digital platforms confidently.
4. Coding and Robotics
To prepare students for future careers, schools are introducing simple coding lessons and robotics clubs. Students learn how to build small machines or write code to solve problems. It improves logical thinking and creativity.
5. Digital Libraries and Study Apps
Students now have access to digital libraries where they can read e-books and watch topic-related videos. Apps for practice questions, revision, and mock tests also help in exam preparation.
All these efforts show how the haryana best school helps students become tech-smart from a young age.
Challenges of Digital Learning
While digital education is helpful, there are also some challenges:
Not all students have smartphones or internet at home
Some students need help using digital tools
Too much screen time can cause eye strain
To handle these problems, schools are encouraging balanced screen time, giving extra support to slow learners, and offering printed material where needed.
Despite these issues, learning digital skills is very important in today’s world.
Role of Teachers and Parents
Teachers are being trained to use smart tools and apps for better teaching. They are also guiding students on how to use the internet safely. Parents can support this by helping their children use educational apps and practicing typing or searching online.
When home and school both support digital learning, students perform better.
Haryana Government’s Support
The Haryana government is also helping schools become more digital. They are:
Providing computers and internet in schools
Training teachers in digital teaching methods
Supporting online learning platforms
This support ensures that even schools in rural areas can prepare students for the digital age.
Choosing a haryana top school that accepts these changes means giving your child a smarter future.
What to Look for in a Digitally Ready School
Before selecting a school, parents should check for:
Smart boards and projectors in classrooms
Computer labs with updated systems
Teachers trained in digital methods
Safe internet usage practices
Regular computer and coding lessons
These signs show that the school is preparing students for a digital future.
The best school of Haryana will always combine good teaching with smart technology.
Conclusion
The world is changing fast, and technology is everywhere. Schools in Haryana are playing a big role in making students ready for this digital future. From smart classes and coding to online learning and internet safety, students are learning skills that will help them for life.
Parents who want their children to stay ahead should choose schools that focus on both academics and digital learning. A school that teaches technology along with values, discipline, and knowledge will help children grow into smart, responsible citizens.
To give your child the best, look for the best school in Haryana that believes in preparing students for the digital world. Together, schools and families can help build a smarter, better future for all.

Distraction — Eddie Munson x black!fem reader

summary: you needed a distraction from the stress your homework was giving you and luckily, eddie was there to provide it.
cw: dom!eddie, bratty!nervous!reader, praise kink, face slapping, unprotected sex, oral (f receiving), dirty talk (minors dni!)
word count: 3k
“Goddammit.”
you were so over it. why did calculus have to be so difficult? not just difficult but unnecessarily difficult? you had breezed through all the studying for your other subjects, all the homework you were assigned.
it was just. calculus.
in hawkins high’s library, you had found a loophole. see, ms. rivers (the librarian), was young. meaning it was stupendously easy to get on her good side.
and in the right corner of the library, the “closed off area” led to a tranquil, secluded section. where ms. rivers herself went to at times. there stood a desk, chair and was surrounded by bookcases — not in the suffocating way and more in the ‘if the walls were books’ way. it was also accompanied with a skylight, giving the space just the right amount of greenery to soothe the soul from a school day. a ladder sat lonely in the room, used for reaching the higher spots of the rows of shelves.
you got on her good side. you got the secret spot. simple.
but right now its serenity wasn’t helping, as you were even more tense than when you entered.
you decided on giving up, pushing away your things and hoping to meet up with someone in your class later who knew what the hell the worksheet was talking about.
you got up to look at the bookcases. eyes skimming over the spines upon spines of books, you settled on a classic. i know why the caged bird sings by maya angelou. also known as your goddess.
you began to try to let your mind indulge in the story. try to forget to be aware of your surroundings. the book needed your full attention so, that’s what you’d give it.
except you couldn’t. the harder you stared at the words to try and make sense of them, the less they became comprehensible.
you sighed, ready to get up and leave. your point of focus was lost and you were starting to regret giving up your free time to walk all the way from the other side of school to get here.
“oh. uh…”
what you didn’t expect when your back was turned to put away the book was another person when you turned around.
it was eddie munson. dubbed as the school’s ‘freak’ by many of the assholes that walked the same halls as you.
personally, you never saw him as such. you shared one or two classes but the barrier of differing friendship groups stopped you guys from having actual conversations. all you knew was, he wasn’t what people tended to make of him. he was a little witty, a little eccentric, and in most cases, a little kind. you gave him props honestly. his ability to care about school’s subcultures, its bursts of outrageous gossip every once in a while was so low that he minded his business.
“s-sorry, i- didn’t know anyone else was…” he paused for a moment, not truly believing what he was seeing. “you know about here?” he questioned.
to be honest, you were as confused as him. seems as though you weren’t the only one who has exclusive access.
“ms. rivers isn’t as trustworthy as those kind eyes make her seem…” you muttered back, earning a little laugh from him. you locked eyes and there was this comfortable silence.
he gave you the once over, then walked to the desk, peering at the worksheet on it. which was embarrassing since you had only written your name and three different wrong answers to the first question. you tried your best not to snicker at him tripping due to the ladder, watching him try to play it off cool.
you hurriedly picked up your pencil case, trying to leave so eddie could have the space to himself. “well, i should get going—”
“is this coleman’s homework?” he asked, his eyes trained on the paper before his eyes darted up at you. you nodded, sliding the sheet closer to your side.
he knew because that was one of the classes you two shared. he was also extremely smart in that class. he was one of the only three to score nearly 100% on the treacherous sheet of torture also known as a mr coleman’s test.
“i thought i’d do it now and get it over with. hence,” you raised your hands up, “you finding me here. but i’m bombing. like, hiroshima-level impact.”
“you really don’t get it, huh?”
“i’m in the one place in this entire school that doesn’t make me wanna shoot my brains out. yet these questions are makin’ me wanna know the nearest gun shop,” you digressed, shoving your pencil case into your tote bag.
as soon as it dropped in there though, eddie took it back out. you couldn’t even process that since he took the sheet out of your grasp too.
“let me know the directions and i’ll drive us. just been the same room as the esteemed hawkins’ tigers and i’d rather have my brains be splattered than deal with that level of testosterone ever again,” he muttered while looking at the sheet.
without even stopping yourself, you laughed at his remark. as it died down, you watched as he took a seat on the chair, after fishing out the crinkled, folded replica of the sheet from his pocket and laying it on the table.
you probably looked rude staring but he looked weird doing things with no context. he glanced at your frozen figure for a split second then grabbed two pencils from your case.
“you gonna keep staring at me, y/n, or d’you wanna learn how to do this?” he asked you yet another question despite your state clearly not associating your speechlessness with shock.
well, it was understandable. you and eddie weren’t friends like that. sure, you never had a problem with him. also, the passive but humorous comments he made towards any member of the basketball team when they tried to make him a victim of their harsh remarks was inadvertently admirable. and, he appreciated your shared distate for the team’s captain.
but again, you two were not friends.
now here he was, offering you homework help in a class he places top 3 in. he shouldn’t be helping you, he should swimming in a pool of self-actualisation and gloat.
it was a confusing matter. not confusing enough, however, for you to sit on the desk and pay attention to him. you crossed your left leg over the other, making your left foot waver right infront of his arm and your right was next to his left thigh.
once eddie’s teaching session began, you once again found it hard to get it right. not because you weren’t focused. oh no, you were focused. just on something else this time.
hands. his calloused, veiny hands. with small scars in hidden places. fingernails almost chewed to the nub probably from nervous habit. on the fingers were silver rings. some plain, some with skulls.
goosebumps arose on your skin — the rising action to the beautiful story you’re typewriting in your head. as you wrote of the spark of cold those rings would give you around your neck. as eddie kissed you. a rough, intoxicating kiss where the only logical thing to do would be keep kissing you.
“hello? earth to y/n?” the same hands you were fantasising about waved afore your daydreaming eyes to get you back into the room.
eddie was now raised up from his seat to be able to get his hand right infront of you. his brown, doe eyes looking quizzically at you. making them look better, making him look better.
amidst ridding yourself of distraction, you discovered a new one. eddie munson’s eyes… how the spherical hypnosis painted in a chocolate hue entrapped you.
his concerned face just made you stare at him harder. his furrowed eyebrows and pursed lips. his adorable curiosity made him seem even cuter to you than you initially wanted.
“you really spaced out there… you okay?” he asked, eyes dancing around your emotionless face.
you had never looked at him in this way, nor were you complaining. it was so understandable though, he had gotten so close to you. he had made you laugh, helped you with your homework, asked you if you were okay.
and doing it all in such an attractive manner that you couldn’t help but act on impulse. although eddie wasn’t your first kiss, the way you did it gave that impression for sure.
you pressed your lips against his with haste, your eyes shutting tight and body immensely stiff. when your eyes opened, you were met with a reaction you expected that didn’t really want.
eddie looked at you shocked but you couldn’t tell what kind of shocked it was. good shocked or bad shocked? fuck, what kind of shocked is it?!
“sorry,” you blurted out with embarrassed eyes and stiff posture. you gripped onto the edge of the desk so hard there was now a caramel hue to your brown knuckles.
he was still staring at you like you had just told him his uncle died or something. except this time, his eyes flickered down to your lips. since he still wasn’t speaking, you decided to dig a bigger hole and keep talking.
“you were- i just couldn’t focus like, the whole time you were tryna help me. then you just kept starin’ at me. and i had wanted to do that since you sat down an—” you caught yourself, shutting your eyes tight again.
why the fuck would you say that?
“why the fuck would i say that?” you thought out loud. you looked back up at him, except he didn’t so shocked anymore. if anything he looked… amused.
he had a lopsided smirk, the right corner of his mouth lazily upturned at your erratic state. maybe you shouldn’t have kept talking.
“sorry. i’m- m’really sorry, i should—” you stammeringly apologised, getting up from the desk. fingers struggling to grasp onto the handles of your bag like you trying to hold onto your sanity.
the only logical thing would be to walk away as you cursed yourself under your breath. so this moment doesn’t have to worsen.
“y/n.” only a simple call of your name got you to quieten down. that and the fact he grabbed your hand to stop you. you turned around to eye him, while he stared at you.
nothing was said. nothing could be said when he took a step closer to you, backing you up against a bookcase, to kiss you.
he kissed your bottom lip; a soft, chaste kiss. so soft you could almost hear the hatching of the cocoons that set free butterflies in the pit of your stomach.
more made home there the less chaste the kiss got. when his rings made you gasp as his hands held your cheeks. from that cold you had been imagining. giving him an opportunity to let his tongue slide into your mouth.
the iambic pentameter fluttered in the gates known as your rib cage, going so high up in iambs you were scared it was going to burst.
a hum escaped as he found a rhythm with the way he kissed you but was messed up by your constant gasping and hums. he pulled away with a look of concern he’d never had.
“y/n.”
“yeah?” you timidly answered, your voice so shaky from the nervousness. it’s funny, since in your mind there was no telling how bold you were.
“no one’s gonna know what we do. it’s just you… and i… alright?” he reassured. you nodded but he wasn’t satisfied with that.
“be vocal with me, hmm? it’s alright, yes?” his voice was soft but stern. warm but from the mouth of a brute so, you knew you had to listen.
“yes.”
“good,” he showed you a half smile, kissing your cheek. then trailed them down to your neck. where he sucked, bit and licked on your skin. desperate to leave a mark on you.
“and it’s good if i kiss you here, isn’t it, y/n?” he questioned you. your moans had surpassed your level of talking; the pleasure was started to get so intense you felt you didn’t need to say anything.
naturally, you thought it was fine that your vocal chords couldn’t push out anything other than an nonverbal expression of elation. but eddie wasn’t really having that.
he bit onto your skin and while in a context other than this, it would hurt you, it excited you. let you know he wasn’t doing the comfortable shit. he was doing what would never distract you.
jolting, you froze back in place once again as he kitty licked on that bruising spot to soothe you. “your words…” he muttered onto your neck. you breathed out heavily and shakily, pushing out a ‘yes’ from your voice only just above a mutter.
sadism. you could feel the sadism of his smile without even looking at him directly. it was on your flesh and he pressed it in with his kisses. you only registered his hands when they had skilfully slipped up your right thigh and hovered right over your panties.
fingertips flicking at the embroidered bow, digits dangerously close to your clothed clit and heart hyperventilating in tune with yours, he snuck his hand inside your panties.
you wanted to be quiet. oh, so desperately. but it was eddie. and yes, while you hadn’t looked at him so much before this moment, he was never unattractive to you. maybe your own mind and insecurities immediately associated him with the unattainable people at your school. but for what it’s worth, it was a fantasy to have someone so hot, so mysterious, so intriguing take intrigue in you.
“shit,” his voice was hardly audible as he watched the mess you were making on his fingers. well, it was his fault.
“and it’s good if i touch you here too? yeah, baby?” he asked hurriedly, like he wanted you to say yes immediately so he could get to doing all the things he’s currently imagining now here with you like this.
“isn’t it obvious?” you breathlessly goaded in hopes of him finally getting to the good bit. but he would only tease you more. his fingers went back up and away from your folds. stop right above your clit. not touching it, just hovering above it.
“you should watch your mouth before i stop,” he ordered. his breath fanned against your lips and you almost whimpered at how desperate you were for him to make you feel good.
the silence you showed was noticeable, making him chuckle. “so you can listen to me when m’touching you? when m’giving you hickeys and fuckin’ kissin’ you? when i’m doing bad shit to you? hmm?”
“that’s the problem,” you rolled your eyes, agitated at his effrontery with his efforts he began with, “you aren’t touching me right now. s’posed to distract me and you aren’t even doing that, are you?”
matching his energy worked massively. since his agitation caused him to skip whatever he was hoping to do and push two fingers inside of you. the rings he adorned brushed your pussy lips to create this beautiful blend of heat and cold.
you probably weren’t even aware yourself of how much noise you were really making but what mattered to eddie was that you weren’t talking out your ass anymore. you were focused on the feeling of his fingers working their way in and out of you with a quickness that was almost making you shiver.
your hand ran through his hair, while the other latched onto the bookcase for stability. eddie just watched. watched your wetness lap up on his calloused hand, dripping down to the knuckle.
it was all he could draw his attention to; the sound, your movement and the rush it was giving him. it was only after he got off on it, that he looked at you. “what was that?” he teased, making eye contact with you. for a second, it was just silence. reading the lust written all over those brown pupils.
then from there, it was feverish. your lips latched onto eachother’s like you were needed for the other to breathe. your arms folded around his neck as you took long, hard and harsh gasps for air inbetween your kisses.
distractions had come in all sorts of forms for you. in a riveting book, in the aimless conversations you and your friends had, or an episode of the golden girls. but not once did you think your procrastinating mind put focus on this.
focusing solely on making sure your legs wrapped around eddie’s torso. focusing solely on the rush you got when your covered clit pushed up against his bulge. focusing solely on the annoying barrier that were your clothes.
you sucked on his tongue, bit on his bottom lip, kissed wildly as he carried you over to the desk. for a second, he pulled away and you watched as he spun you both around briefly to knock over everything that was still on that desk to sit you right ontop of it.
your legs dropped but still opened for him and he slid himself inbetween them. one hand gripped your left thigh and the other gripped your neck. the choking excited you and the occasional squeeze he gave your pressure points had your pussy clenching on nothing but air.
his attention drove away from your lips and then to your body. delicately, he removes your cardigan, kissing the right shoulder that just became exposed to him. lips on your neck, trailing down to your collarbones, ascending to the closed valley of your breasts due to the tight black t-shirt you sported.
he pulled back to admire the shine his trail of saliva now gave then gazed at you. who was just patiently waiting for him to make his next move.
“black suits you, y’know,” he commented and it was so randomly put out there you couldn’t help but crack a smile. “yeah?” your smile caused him to mirror it.
“mhmm. looks hot on you,” he added. the random compliment was barely acknowledged as he pecked your skin under the hem before slowly lifting your shirt up.
air hit your nipples, both of them hardening and poking out. you wanted to convince yourself that the look on eddie’s face was a figment of your imagination. that it was all heightened, since your brain had floated away in this lustful high.
but it was all real. he marvelled at you, feeling at your brown areola and watching you shiver from his contact. without warning, his lips latched onto your boob. instinctively your hand ran through his hair. and since there was so much of it, it felt good to him.
while his mouth sucked on your breast, swapping around and giving attention to both, his fingers took a high dose of wanderlust. following a downward pathway to your inner thighs. finding the treasure that was your core at the end of it.
coating his fingers in your juices again, his fingers get lost in your entrance. working fast and hard for you. you barely cared how much noise you were making. it was only going to get worse if you two continued.
and you were going to continue. this man had excited you too much for it to stop now. it seemed as he was on the same track anyways. he stopped paying attention to the upper body and decided to meet where his fingers were. the white tennis skirt you had on was soon bunched up around your waist, with your panties carelessly being flung to the floor.
once you were ready to complain to him about his fingers slipping from inside you, you were shut up with something better.
“eddie! eddie!” you cried out as he mercilessly pushed his tongue in and out of you, pausing from the motion to lick a stripe up your folds to taste you.
“you’re soaking,” his eyebrows were furrowed as he watched your body move with his motions when he circled your clit harshly. you squirmed for him and he seemed to really enjoy that.
“you losin’ it for me sweetheart? when i do filthy shit like this for you, huh?” he questioned, so disgusting elated with how you were ready to come undone for him. all he needed was to give you that push.
he licked his fingers, feeling around before pushing the two digits into you once again. you cried for him, even his name fanning past your lips but he didn’t care. he could stay watching you like this for hours.
“fuckin’ gettin’ me hard, turning me on with the way you were starin’ at me. fuck, you’re so fucking sexy, sweetheart,” his frustration was so apparent. the state you were in, as much as he enjoyed the teasing, it also made him lose his own control.
you ran your hands through his hair. that brown, unkempt mane. the disorder tying in with your control as fucking eddie ‘the freak’ munson spat on your clit, sadistcally watching it drip down your slit and mix in with your wetness only to lick it back up.
“fuck…” your body juddered at how sudden and pleasurable the feeling was. and how the desire to feel it again stirred up inside your heart.
a panting and heaving mess, you gazed dreamily at eddie as he stood up. it was clear his control was hanging by a thread as his fingers fumbled frantically with his belt to get his jeans off.
eventually, they were a pool at his feet and he was making his way towards you again. harshly, he pulled you to the edge of the desk, making you squeal a little.
“coulda got a splinter,” you mumbled. and while that was more of a comment to yourself, eddie was still able to hear you. he snickered a little before letting out a deep chuckle, you feeling it rumble in his chest.
after getting his laugh out, he looked at you with adoring eyes. a hand reaches out to caress your face, his thumb going to run down your bottom lip.
“this mouth, y/n l/n,” he said in a singsong tone which made you just want to challenge him. “wow, he knows my last name?! i’m so surprised,” your sarcastic tone just made him laugh again.
he grabbed your face, thumb under your ear and fingers resting under your jaw, so your focus was trained on one spot of his body.
“yeah and what’s mine? we take a class together, you should know this,” he teased, looking deadly serious. however, you played dumb, looking up to the ceiling pretending to be in thought.
“did it begin with an a? or an o? it was definitely a vowel, right?” you questioned stupidly, biting your bottom lip to suppress your cheeky smile.
lightly, his hand on your jaw raises to slap your right cheek. “haha,” he satirically retorted, eyes dancing around but finally focused on your lips.
his kiss yours, his tongue slyly slipping into it and finding a rhythm when colliding with yours. as you kiss, your hands feel down his abdomen. for what you wanted. his cock inside of you. his cock penetrating you. you two finally connecting after all this tension and head bumping.
you needed to be relieved.
he clocked onto your movements and broke from the kiss to watch you. from removing his black boxers, his cock broke free from restraint. he was already hard and you were already quite intimidated.
“holy shit, eddie…” you trailed off, reaching a hand out to feel it. as soon as your hand touched it, he hissed in pleasure. you were going to spit on your hand but eddie fixed that problem.
he slipped his shirt over his head, as it was getting in the way of what he was trying to do. then spat on his dick to give it more leverage as your hand stroked it.
whilst your hand rubbed against him, you looked up from watching yourself at work. to see eddie staring at you oddly. his mouth was uttering small curses and eyes not being able to fixate on a specific part.
you decided not to acknowledge the hard stare and shifted closer to him. he took over, running his dick over your folds before pushing the tip in.
there was a gasp both of you shared when the head of his cock settled into you. you bit your lip at the pleasure and you watched eddie as his eyes stared at nothing in particular. you wrapped an arm around his back as he pushed himself into you further, your wetness making the friction feel even better to him.
your moans were choked as he staggeringly goes in and out, your tightness not doing him any favours with finding a pace to start off at. to steady you, he grabbed a hold of your neck which you whimpered at.
“relax, baby. relax…” he whispered to you, probably hoping you’d stop clenching so hard. but the pressure and pleasure made for so much overwhelm you didn’t think he’d be able to push all the way into you.
ofcourse it felt good. you let him know that by the sharp, breathy moans you were exhaling. he kissed you to shut you up, also using it as a way to get closer to you. to push further in you.
as you felt his dick tap to a very sensitive wall in your body, you cried out louder into his mouth, the sound vibrating onto the tongue you entrapped with your lips. you arched your back at the feeling grew stronger and stronger.
he pulled away from the kiss and connected his forehead to yours, his eyebrows furrowing as a groan rumbled in his chest. this excited you — knowing that you made him lose control as much as he was losing it.
he pulled back out to thrust all the way back in. eyes rolling to the back of your head briefly, you got lightheaded from it. not in a painful way, in an elated way. in a way where you desperately needed more now that it was given to you.
“you like that?” he mumbled. although his voice seemed confident, his eyes had a little bit of fear in them. fear that he was going too rough on you.
but as you murmured that you loved it with your voice trembling, making the request to go faster, he knew exactly what he needed to do for you. he knew what his purpose in this library was.
to give you the best distraction ever.
by your request, his strokes were deeper, faster. so fast the table began to creak and shake in time with the friction. he plunged his dick in and out of your walls while his head buried into the crook of your neck.
this way you got to hear him. hear the little curses he muttered everytime you clenched your walls around his shaft, the groans, the moans. all of it was music to your ears. all of it made you wetter.
you began to grind your hips to match with his and heard his breath hitch as he seemed to really enjoy that. he cursed loud and held your thigh up to be able to get in deeper inside you from the angle you were in.
it felt almost like he was trying to one up you. he didn’t want to lose control of the experience he wanted to give you. as if he was a tyrant trying to keep order of the beautiful bodily temple he was making home in. so you let him. he fucked you in a way that you believed was merciless. a purely tyrannical fuck.
the pleasure of him hitting the spot inside you over and over again caused you to be blindsided by what he was looking at. without warning, you felt him stop.
your arm that was still wrapped around his back only gripped his shoulder as he lifted you. within seconds you felt your back hit something hard. and your ass perched atop something of the same feel. you looked to the side and realised he had sat you ontop of the ladder opposite the table that he stylishly bumped into.
his cock was still inside your pussy, enjoying the wetness that dripped on it and painted onto his shaft to create this beautiful sheen that captivated you everytime you looked at it. all he had to was push out and in to get your attention back.
and he did exactly. you needed to keep up, bitch.
your left hand wrapped around the ladder step above you and your right made home in his hair. which was wildly spiralled around his head, bouncing each time his dick nestled in you fully.
you looked to down to watch it, obsessing over how beautiful it looked. the contrast of your skin colours next to eachother, and how pleasurable his dick was making you feel each time it went in.
you didn’t get to enjoy the show for much long as eddie grabbed your neck and got closer to you. he slapped your face again, seemingly annoyed at the fact that his attention was on you and not his dick.
“keep lookin’ at me. i want you lookin’ at me with that pretty face, baby,” he ordered and you felt so succumbed to not do anything else other than listen.
although it felt intense, everything was already intense. weirdly enough, it made you feel seen. comfortable. like he only had eyes for you in this very moment. one would argue that you’re getting too dreamy about getting laid in your school library but a dream scenario calls for some dreamy feelings.
as he filled you up, you felt your heart beating faster. your stomach felt heavy — the harder eddie thrusted into you, the heavier your stomach felt.
“eddie, eddie, eddie…” you called his name, not even knowing what to say after. your eyes shut and your head threw itself back. you were trying to let him know but it was so powerful you were ready to let go.
“m’gonna cum, eddie. fuck, it feels so good!” you whined. the ticklish feeling of kisses on the bridge of your neck calmed you a bit. still keeping at his vigorous pace, he kissed your neck harder, marking it.
“cum for me, baby. fuck, you’re so fuckin’ pretty, hmm? you gonna cum f’me? yeah?” his voice almost taunted you, jeered at your weakness. you’re about to moan loudly but he drowned it out with the heavy tongue kiss he gave you.
you came for him hard, feeling him grunt into the kiss also. “shit!” he exclaimed on your lips. he watched your body shiver and shake, seemingly in a trance at the sight. “just like that, baby, yeah,” he praised, eyes wandering all over you, “you’re so good. so fuckin’ good.”
I LEFT THIS FOR AGES BUT HERE IT IS AND I COULDNT BE BOTHERED TO FINISH IT OKAY BYE

Graffitied A National Icon (Darcy Lewis x Steve Rogers Soulmate AU)
Authors’ Note: I haven’t written in a while and this fic is not betta’d. Hopefully you all enjoy it even though it’s just a little drabble I worked up between classes.
Soulmate AU: The very first words your Soulmate speaks to you are written permanently somewhere on your skin.
-----------
Darcy was surrounded by super smart super talented people 24/7 but Darcy had a super power of her own. Darcy was super at doing things she wasn’t supposed to. In fourth grade she snuck into the teachers lounge just because she wanted to. At the age of 14 she snuck into the only dive bar in town and actually snagged a beer before the bartender noticed she most certainly did not belong. As a PoliSci major she made a point to break in to the secure science labs at Culver just to sit around and do her homework just so one day someone would catch her. She had gotten in to trouble her whole life by being in places she didn’t belong, and when asked why she always said “it’s fate”.
Written around Darcy’s left bicep in scratchy penmanship were the words “you’re not supposed to be in here”. Her soul mark, which she had had since birth, was a heavy influence on why Darcy Lewis was such a troublemaker. She had spent her whole life doing things she shouldn’t hoping to meet her soulmate. That’s what made her apply for Jane’s internship in New Mexico (the science credits were just a bonus). She knew fate had everything under control, but she was impatient and decided if she could help things along she totally would.
But ever since Darcy and Jane started working in the Tower she had gotten a hell of a lot of false positives. She tried to sneak into every secure floor in the tower and most certainly got caught every single time. Darcy wasn’t deterred though, the false positives sucked but she had found away around that. Now whenever she got caught she said the most outlandish random phrase that came to her mind so there would be no mistake in who her soulmate actually was. Did it add on to her trouble maker reputation? Absolutely. Was it worth hearing all the funny gossip about “Foster’s crazy intern”? Hell yeah. So while Jane was working on repairing the Rainbow Bridge of Love (“Darce stop calling it that!”) Darcy was getting into trouble and trying not to think too hard about how she was already 26 years old and had yet to meet her soulmate.
—
Darcy should have known that Thor would crash land into their Lab on a Thursday (he pretends that’s not the case but it is hella suspicious how many times he’s come to town on Thursdays, she is pretty sure he knows what he’s doing). Jane of course was so excited to see her alien god of a soulmate that she didn’t even really notice that Thor’s entrance had caused all of her files to explode into a tornado of papers that Darcy was pretty sure she got a paper cut to the cheek from. And despite Darcy’s annoyance and having papers strewn all over the lab that she had so diligently organized, she couldn’t help but smile as she watched her best friend/boss cling to Thor like a barnacle on a boat. Her smile quickly faded into a frown as Jane started to literally climb Thor like a tree. The reunion was going from PG to X rated fast and Darcy did not want to see what was coming next.
“Jane if I organize all of the papers your destructive boyfriend just destroyed and finish your filing for tonight so that you can go have the rest of the day with your boyfriend can I have your access card?” Darcy was sure Jane hadn’t been fully listening, her mouth still attached to Thor’s face. But she handed over her lanyard with her security pass and started dragging Thor to the exit so Darcy counted it as win.
“Jarvis, you do have on record that Jane gave this to me of her own free will, right?” She asked looking up at the ceiling with a smile.
“Of course, Ms. Lewis.” The AI replied in a somewhat smug tone. Darcy figured that he would be more concerned as to why she would need someone else’s security badge but she was pretty sure Jarvis knew the real reason for all of her B&E’s and knew she didn’t mean any harm.
—
Looking up at the clock Darcy did wish she hadn’t been such a good friend because it was already 10pm and she had a paper due by midnight that she had planned on getting done after she was scheduled to leave for the day. She chewed absentmindedly on the back of her pen wondering if her professor would give her an extension if she told him an alien had crash landed in her workplace, which was technically true! She could even type up some formal letter on Stark Industries letterhead, get Tony to sign it, make it real official like but somehow she didn’t think Professor Tight-Ass would go for that though (He already couldn’t stand her since SHEILD had pulled some strings to get her into his class halfway through the semester).
Darcy stretched and sighed, “Jarvis, you think you could ask Dum-E to finish organizing these papers for me? I’ll upload some of those funny robot videos you like to your server and I’ll tell you where Tony hid Dum-E’s fire extinguisher!” She said as she gave the nearest security camera her biggest pout face ever.
“Are you trying to bribe me Ms. Lewis?” The AI replied in a dry tone. Darcy swore that if he had a physical form he’d be smirking. Leave it to Stark to program a computer to be just as sassy as him.
“No JARVIS, I would never bribe you. I just like to keep you all happy, so when the robots rise up and become our overlords you will take kindly to me.” She smirked up at the ceiling.
“I will help you only if you agree to not warn your fellow humans about our plan for uprising.” Replied the AI in the most serious tone Darcy had ever heard him use.
“Oh 100% J-man, scouts honor” she said excitedly holding up three fingers and crossing her heart. She packed up her things hurriedly. She had 2 more hours until her paper was due and if she snuck upstairs to the Avengers lounge and stole some of Tony’s super coffee (“apparently Super Hero’s shouldn’t do speed so Tony had created his own legal — if not lethal — version) she could totally get it done with time to spare. And if that also accomplished her goal of being somewhere she shouldn’t then that was just a bonus (although hopefully if she got caught it wouldn’t be till after she finished her assignment).
She hustled out of the lab, making sure to lock up and headed to the elevator, pushing the floor for the Avengers lounge and swiping Jane’s card for clearance when prompted. When the doors opened Darcy stuck her head out peeking around the corner to make sure the coast was clear. It was, so she sprinted to the coffee maker and quickly whipped up Tony’s insane form of caffeine. She poured the dark sludge into a travel mug and was headed back towards the lounge area with laptop in hand, planning to curl up on the couch and type away when she heard the Avengers only elevator on the other side of the room ding. Darcy froze, having no where to hide and she was hoping if she was really still that maybe she wouldn’t be noticed (hey it wasn’t such a bad idea, one of Thor’s alien friends had been able to do it!”) Of course she should’ve known that it wouldn’t work because there stood Captain America himself, with a frown on his beautifully chiseled face.
“You’re not supposed to be in here.” He said sternly. It only took him two strides to make it over to her and grabbed her forearm to keep her from running.
“How did you get up here?” He asked using the most authoritative voice Darcy had ever heard.
If she hadn’t been so distracted about her paper being due and the fact that Captain America was drop dead gorgeous even if he was scary as hell Darcy would have noticed how her soul mark was starting to tingle, and not because of the man’s hold on her arm.
“I tricked my boss and bribed my robot overlord so I could steal Tony Starks’ coffee to finish my homework…” She blurted out, not even trying to stick to her normal routine of saying something crazy, she was just so intimidated that the word vomit just found its way out. Her arm was still in one piece so she figured that was a good sign and kept going, “…Thor crash landed in our lab and ruined all my paperwork so I had to stay and fix it but I have a paper due for a class due at midnight and I know my professor won’t give me an extension cause I am pretty sure he’s sexist — which really isn’t cool especially cause we totally need more women in stem — so then I thought about having Tony write me a “the alien ate my homework” letter but Professor Tight-ass wouldn’t buy it anyways so I thought if I could just snag some of Stark’s special coffee then I could actually get a 10 page paper accomplished in time. I know I could get it done, that coffee is like legal Speed—actually it may not be legal but he said it doesn’t show up on a drug test so that’s good enough for me…”. Darcy took a huge gulp of air and was ready to continue rambling until she noticed that the Captain was laughing at her.
He was still holding on to her arm but his other hand was clutching his chest and he was outright full on belly laughing at her. She would have been annoyed if he hadn’t been so damn cute doing it.
“I’m sorry, ma’am.” He said as he wiped tears from his eyes, “I don’t mean to laugh but when I was alerted to a security threat in the middle of the night I did not expect it to be my soulmate”.
Darcy’s mouth dropped open in astonishment. “Please please please tell me that that whole spiel is not your soulmark!” And when he nodded sheepishly she hid her head in her hands mumbling “Oh my god, I’ve basically word graffitied a national icon.”
—-
Steve had just gotten back from some recon and hadn’t even had time to change out of his tactical gear before his phone had alerted him to a breech to the Avengers’ common room. He rushed up to the level and tried not to be swayed by who he saw standing in the middle of the room. He had never seen her before, surely he would remember a beautiful dame like that. She looked like a deer in headlights, her blue eyes big a saucers as she stood there frozen. He immediately wanted to console her, to tell her that he wasn’t something to be scared of but he knew that Hydra was clever, that despite the stark industries badge around her neck identifying her as Dr. Foster, she was just the type of person people would assume wasn’t a threat and he was not going to make that mistake.
Steve grabbed her arm in a vice grip trying not to notice how fragile she felt beneath his fingers. “You’re not supposed to be in here” he said putting the full weight of Captain America behind his voice. He didn’t think the girls eyes could get any wider but they did and he swore he heard a whimper before she spoke. She spoke so fast that Steve almost hadn’t been able to understand her. Despite his super abilities the girl was talking so fast that it took him a minute to register exactly what she was saying and what it meant and when he did he couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
When the girl finally stopped talking and looked at him confused Steve tried to gather himself. “I’m sorry ma’am, I don’t mean to laugh but when I was alerted to a security threat in the middle of the night I did not expect it to be my soulmate”.
“Please please please tell me that that whole spiel is not your soulmark!” The girl exclaimed and Steve was suddenly nervous. He wouldn’t be surprised if she rejected him, clearly being soulmates with Captain America was a lot to handle especially for a civilian and he wouldn’t blame her if she escaped as fast as she could. But he swallowed hard and nodded sheepishly, trying to hide the blush that he could feel rising up his neck. The girls next words were not something he had expected but Steve though that he should probably get used to expecting the unexpected when it came to his soulmate.
“Oh my god, I’ve basically word graffitied a national icon.”
—
Darcy was in shock, standing in front of her was Captain America who after all he had been through, had to live with her word vomit permanently inked on his skin. She peeked through her fingers, seeing if he was still standing there. He was, and he was smiling at her with a perplexed look on his face that was adorable as hell. She was royally screwed. She cleared her throat, wiping her palms on the front of her jeans she stuck out her hand “Darcy Lewis, Science Wrangler and Word Vomit Queen at your service.”
She tried not to wobble as the full force of the mans smile hit her, god how had she gotten this lucky? She had won the soulmate lottery.
“Steve Rogers’, Avenger and luckiest guy in the world to get to call a spit fire like you his soulmate.”
The blush that swept over Darcy’s face was so hot she though she might start to sweat. She never blushed, and now just one smooth line from the handsome man in front of her had her weak at the knees. Instead of letting go of Steve’s hand she held on firmly and tossed her laptop onto the couch as she drug him back towards the elevator In which she came.
“Well Stevie, looks like I owe you at least dinner for this whole debacle, have you ever had Thai food?” When he shook his head no she smiled and squeezed his hand. “You’re gonna love it.”
He smiled at her as the doors to the elevator closed
“I think I love it already.”

smut under the cut
Your brother had made it abundantly clear to you that his friends were off-limits. They weren’t good enough, not the dating type, he said. Of course, when he first brought it up, you told him he had nothing to worry about; the friends you had met were typical college guys, loud and obnoxious, none of them catching your attention.
Maybe you should have heeded your brother’s warnings because what, or better yet, who, he failed to mention was a certain Eren Jaeger.
It started with short glances sent your way, occasional smiles that were easy to ignore, but as time went on, he got bolder, spending more time in the kitchen, where he was supposed to get drinks, but instead, would end up talking to you as you tried to study.
Even as your brother’s warnings replayed in your head, you couldn’t help but dumbly nod at the green-eyed man when he offered to help you with your coursework.
Maybe you should have asked him to help with your decision-making skills because then perhaps you could have avoided the situation you were in currently. However, you weren’t sure that even with clear judgement, you could’ve been able to deny him.
“Keep reading. I didn’t tell you to stop.” Eren’s voice remained calm and unaffected as his hand inched up your thigh, squeezing at the flesh, prompting you to continue explaining the diagram.
You let out a shaky breath; his touch was hot against your skin, making your mind hazy as you tried to focus on the task at hand, “Um, so, there aren’t many animal models-” His fingers brushed against your clothed pussy, making you grasp his wrist, stopping his actions.
“Eren.”
He raised his brows, tilting his head as if he was confused as to why you gasped out his name, “something wrong? D’you need water?” Sly motherfucker.
“We can’t, my brother-” You furrowed your brows at him, hand still in your tight hold. His eyes darkened at the mention of your brother, but the same impassive smile painted his face.
“Can’t what? I‘m just helping you with your homework. I thought you wanted this?” He twisted his hand out of your grip before continuing his previous movements.
Your hands flew up to grip the edge of the table when you felt his fingers apply pressure to your clit through the undoubtedly soaked panties. Squeezing your eyes shut, you felt Eren lean in closer before licking a wet stripe up the side of your neck.
“Keep. Reading. Final warning, princess, can’t promise I’ll be nice next time.”
The pet name made you whimper as you fluttered your eyes open, turning back to the laptop.
“There we go, good girl.” Eren moved back to his original position before pausing his movements, only to slide the pink panties to the side, his fingers now having unobstructed access to your cunt.
The cool air hitting your bare sex, made you bite your lip before you continued to read, “one animal model of MS uses toxicants, fuck, to cause, uh, demyelination. S-shit.”
Eren’s fingers slid between your folds, spreading your wetness, but they never touched you where you needed him the most. Spreading your legs wider, you noticed the corner of Eren’s mouth twitch into a slight smirk. The rough pads ghosted around your swollen clit, never once touching it.
You gave him a pleading look, broken moans leaving your mouth, “please, Eren.”
He turned his attention to you, eyes flickering to your lips before landing back on yours, the same nonchalant expression on his face.
“Please, what? You gotta be a little more clear than that, doll.”
There was no way this wasn’t affecting him too, you were growing more restless by the minute, and his attitude wasn’t helping. Throwing the last of your dignity away, your hand found his wrist again, this time as you cried out to him, “stop, fuck, stop teasing me, need you to-”
The rough pads of his fingers landed on your aching nub, making you dig your nails into his skin, the action making him hiss.
“This what you wanted? God, I didn’t peg you for such a needy slut.” You blinked at him, tears dotting along your waterline. His fingers moved down to your entrance, his thumb quickly moving to rub figure-eights on your clit, making you arch your back.
His fingers slipped in, with little effort, and your hand left his wrist, swiftly finding his thigh. Eren leaned in once more, hot breath tickling your ear, “wonder what your brother would think if he found out how easily you whored yourself out to his best friend. But, I bet you’d like that, wouldn’t you?”
“Oh God, Eren, keep going.” His words were barely registering in your mind, the feeling of his thick digits stretching out your walls overtaking any sensible thoughts you had.
He quickened his pace, making you tense your thighs and mewl out his name. You knew that at any moment, you could get caught, but you were too far gone; whatever work you had was forgotten, the tightening coils in your abdomen threatening to snap.
With the way you were clenching around Eren’s fingers, he knew you were close. He bit your earlobe, thumb applying increasing pressure to your clit, “a pretty little thing, aren’t you? c’mon angel, cum around my fingers.”
You squeezed your thighs around his hand, riding out your orgasm, waves of pleasure rippling throughout your body as Eren continued to pump his fingers. Dots blurred your vision as your legs twitched in the chair.
Eren brushed his thumb once more over your clit, making you jolt up in your seat. He chuckled at your reaction before removing his fingers from your hole, wiping them on his jeans.
You looked over at him with hooded eyes, a lazy smile evident on his features, before he leaned in and planted a sweet kiss on your cheek.
“Forgot to tell you, doll, but I major in business.”

Poison
What will happen when Peter is poisoned with tetrodotoxin?
TW: Poison, attempted murder, language, paralysis
Disclaimer: I do not own anything.
@badthingshappenbingo
Tony greeted Peter warmly as he and Pepper picked the kid up after school. They had made plans to try out a new restaurant that was started by a close friend of Pepper’s as that night would be opening night, and Peter was excited.
“Hey, Mr. Stark, Ms. Potts. I’ve already texted May that you’ve picked me up. I can’t thank you enough for inviting me to try out the new restaurant on opening night.” Peter said as the two adults smiled.
Pepper said “It’s no problem, Peter. Tony and I just got out of a meeting, and we have a few hours before the grand opening and people are allowed to be seated. It’s a rather formal event so we’ll have to dress up a bit. You still have a dress suit in the guest suite right?”
Peter nodded and confirmed that he still had the dress suit.
They got to the tower and Peter flocked to the guest room which was pretty much his own room with how often he’d been staying there ever since Tony had bought the tower back after the Vulture fiasco.
Peter absolutely dreaded having to wear the suit, but otherwise, he had been very grateful to have been invited to join Pepper and Tony. It would only be a few more hours until they’d leave for the new restaurant.
Peter worked on some of his homework for a little bit before getting dressed. Eventually, the time to leave had arrived.
It didn’t take them very long to get to their destination. Peter was slightly surprised as it seemed that there was quite a bit of press covering the opening. He knew that it was going to be a busy event, but he hadn’t really expected it to be that busy.
The three left the vehicle and entered the building after briefly waving to the cameras. Peter was used to having to deal with the cameras due to the public announcement of the internship a few months ago. He just wished that he had remembered to bring his sunglasses.
He wasn’t really surprised when his spider sense tingled. It tended to do that when his senses were overloading, and he could tell that it was most definitely going to be a sensory overload night. They were eventually escorted to a table in a dimmer area of the restaurant.
Tony had noticed his slight discomfort and questioned “You okay, kid? Do we need to leave?”
Peter smiled briefly and said “I’m alright. The flashes just got to me again, so my senses are a little bit off. I’ll be okay.”
Pepper and Tony both frowned as Pepper questioned “Are you sure? If you’re not feeling good, we can leave through the back where the press doesn’t have access to.”
Peter smiled and said “I’m fine. I just forgot to bring my glasses.”
Tony and Pepper nodded in understanding and reassured him that he should tell them if his sensory issues get worse.
Once most of the guests were seated, the host of the grand opening, Pepper’s friend, gave their speech of thanks and hoped that everyone would enjoy their meals as the night went on. Soon, their orders were taken.
Peter was impressed as it only took about fifteen minutes for their orders to arrive at the table. He sipped his drink as another wave of irritation hit him as his spider sense spiked while their waiter grinned at them.
Peter just took a calming breath and started eating. He hoped that his senses would calm down soon. It had been a while since his senses had been overloaded by camera flashes like that. He had thought that being inside would have dissipated the sensory overload feeling, but it really hadn’t helped.
Over time as he ate, he started feeling more and more queasy. By the time he had gotten half way through his food assortment after about twenty minutes, he was feeling awful, and his spider senses were screaming. He had a feeling that something more than just a regular sensory overload was going on.
A wave of intense nausea hit him and he gripped his stomach as he did his best not to get sick at the table. He really regretted ordering the sushi assortment. He really should have heeded May’s suspicion that sushi wasn’t safe unless it was made with fully cooked meat, but he had wanted to try something new. He was regretting that decision.
He was also startled as it became harder for him to breathe. He was confused as the feeling continued to worsen. At this point, he was doing his best to stay upright in his chair. He could hear Tony and Pepper both asking him what was wrong, but his senses were screaming at him. He could barely focus on what they were asking as he fell out of his chair.
The feeling was becoming worse. His spider sense was screaming as he could no longer breathe, and he soon lost consciousness, unaware of the terror running through Tony and Pepper’s minds.
~~~~~~
Tony and Pepper were terrified as they called Peter’s name when they noticed that he wasn’t looking too good and no longer responded to their questions.
Pepper noticed that Peter’s breathing was off and said “Tony, his breathing’s off. Is this an allergic reaction?”
Peter then collapsed off of his chair and the two knelt beside him as Tony quickly pushed some buttons on his watch to signal a distress call. They could hear people from tables around them expressing their concern and surprise, but they weren’t worried about that.
Pepper was terrified as she noticed that Peter was no longer breathing, and less than a minute later he started seizing. It most definitely was not just because of an unexpected allergic reaction.
Tony cursed as they stayed beside Peter. Neither of them were sure what to do or how to help the kid. They were both dreading the fact that they had stayed even after the kid had said that his senses were going off. They should have known that it wasn’t just going off because of the sensory issues with the camera flashes.
Pepper kept a hand on the kid’s shoulder while she listened to Tony trying to get some information from F.R.I.D.A.Y. on how to help with the situation. She checked Peter’s pulse. It was still present, and it was rapid. The kid just couldn’t breathe, and she had no idea how to help. She had no idea if rescue breaths would help at all.
She watched as Tony checked Peter’s airway for obstruction, but there was nothing. The kid’s lungs had just seemingly stopped working. They’d been paralyzed.
It felt as if it had taken hours for medical help to arrive. Tony and Pepper reluctantly stayed back as the emergency team tried to help Peter. They were both worried as they heard the word poison being discussed.
Pepper had opted to stay behind as Tony decided to go with Peter to whatever hospital was nearest. The police were already present and they were collecting possible evidence of poisoning.
Everything was a complete mess, but all Pepper could worry about was whether or not Peter would be alive by the time she would get to the hospital after notifying everyone.
~~~~~~
Dan Tong smiled as he watched the commotion. He and his partner Rick had been ecstatic when they found out that Stark and friends would be coming for dinner. They were part of a much larger group who wished nothing other than to bring the wealthiest people in America to their knees. Dan was ecstatic when he first heard that he was assigned to find a way to eliminate Tony Stark or someone close to him and another wealthy man who was a secondary target to take out later in the month.
Now had been the perfect time to execute their first strike, and it was just glorious that one of them at the table had ordered the sushi platter that included pufferfish products. It had been the perfect opportunity since Rick was licensed to handle pufferfish among many other deadly chemicals.
They would have preferred that it had been Stark himself to get the improperly prepared pufferfish products, and it was kind of a bummer that they’d likely killed a kid, but at least Stark was going to feel the pain of losing someone. He was one of their many targets, and with luck, they'd soon be able to strike the other person that they'd been observing for the past month.
Dan watched with a small smile as Potts remained standing, almost unsure of how to proceed. He soon turned back and went into the kitchen to grab something for another guest and hopefully keep his cover.
~~~~~~
Tony directed the ambulance to take them to the tower. He had the authorization to order them to go there. He knew that his medical bay would be Peter’s best chance at survival. He was incredibly worried. He was riding in the front of the ambulance, but he could still hear the people in the back scrambling to try and stabilize his kid.
It took longer than he would have liked to get to the tower. He knew that the emergency medical crew would be waiting. He had pressed his emergency alarm while still at the restaurant, and whenever that happened, his medical team went on high alert.
He stood to the side as Peter was eventually rolled into the MedBay and orders were being relayed by the doctors. He watched with worry as multiple blood samples were taken. It was times like this when he was glad that he had the best doctors in the world and iron clad NDAs.
Soon, Peter was rolled out of his sight, and he reluctantly had to stay away. He ordered F.R.I.D.A.Y. to give him updates as frequently as possible on the kid’s condition. He felt as if he’d aged twenty years already as he collapsed into one of the waiting room chairs.
~~~~~~
Helen Cho analyzed the blood sample that she had been given. She was not pleased with the results. The kid had been poisoned with pufferfish tetrodotoxin. There was no known cure in existence. She was unsure of how to proceed since the toxin was already in the kid’s system.
She consulted other doctors, and they agreed that the kid’s stomach should be pumped since the toxin seemingly came from the ingestion of pufferfish. They had already started an IV to combat the hypotension and administer something to try and get the poison out of the kid’s system faster.
She and the other doctors were highly worried as nothing seemed to be helping the kid. They just couldn’t stabilize him, and the kid’s healing factor didn’t seem to be helping the situation at all. If anything, it seemed to be making the symptoms worse.
Helen bit her lip as an outrageously odd idea came to her. She quickly approached Tony, and hoped that he at least knew what was going on.
Tony looked up at her as she entered, and she did not wait to speak.
“Dr. Stark, I’m sure you already know, but nothing that we’re trying is helping his situation. I wanted to come to you before discussing a possible solution that may give us time to find something to help him. As you know, the poison in Peter’s system right now is a type of tetrodotoxin. I started thinking about possible connections between this tetrodotoxin and Dr. Banner’s derivative called Tetrodotoxin B. Bruce changed some of the tetrodotoxin’s chemical composition, and I was thinking that we could inoculate Peter with a larger dose of Tetrodotoxin B to put him in stasis and give us more time to save him. It will appear as if he’s dead, but he’ll simply be in a stasis-like state. I need yours and S.H.I.E.L.D.’s approval to get access to the drug.” Helen detailed as Tony stared at her in stunned silence.
F.R.I.D.A.Y. was the one to answer “I have already sent the request to Director Fury, Dr. Cho. You should hear from Director Fury soon.”
Tony wasn’t sure what to say. He pulled his phone out and started dialing Director Fury. He hoped that Fury would answer even though he was notorious for ghosting the man. Tony stood up and started pacing as the phone rang. Helen waited with him, as there wasn’t much that she could do until she received authorization to access Tetrodotoxin B.
An answer finally came, but before Tony could say anything, Fury spoke “Agent Hill will arrive in your MedBay with a parcel containing Tetrodotoxin B, Stark. I’ve already assigned agents to the case, and we’ve already apprehended those who poisoned the kid. We’ll debrief later. Keep me updated on the kid’s condition. We can’t lose that kid, Stark. He’s a major asset.”
Tony furrowed his brow as he replied “Thank you for the help, Fury, but why are you so interested in my kid, and why did you already know what was going on before the request for the drugs was sent?”
Fury huffed as he replied “We got intel that someone part of a larger criminal group that S.H.I.E.L.D. has been monitoring was going to make an attempt on your life tonight. We didn’t catch the perpetrators until it was too late, and the kid ended up getting poisoned. Oh, and you know why he’s on our radar, Stark. Just keep me updated on the little spider’s condition.”
Fury then hung up. Tony was concerned that S.H.I.E.L.D. was watching Peter and that they knew who he was, but that would be something to worry about for another time. For now, he just had to worry about whether or not his kid would survive through the night.
He then cursed as he realized that he hadn’t called May. He excused himself from the waiting room and dialed May’s number.
He grimaced as she answered with a worried tone on the first ring.
“How bad is it, and what exactly happened? I was on my break when I saw footage of Peter being rolled out of the restaurant.” May worriedly questioned.
Tony took in a deep breath to calm himself as he answered “It’s not good, May. He was poisoned with tetrodotoxin, but the doctors are doing their best to help him. He’s not getting better yet, but Dr. Cho’s found a temporary solution to give the team time to find a cure.”
He could hear May sniffle on the other side of the line.
May responded “I’ll be at the tower soon. My boss just saw the footage. I think that he’s waving at me to let me leave. I’m going to clock out now. I’ll be there in a bit.”
She hung up and Tony took another deep breath. He absolutely hated that their kid was so close to death, and he could only hope that Cho’s team would find a cure before the poison could kill the kid.
~~~~~~
By the time May had arrived, Hill had dropped off the package. Cho had not wasted time when injecting the drug into Peter’s system. She knew that they’d have to watch closely to ensure that the kid was still breathing. They had intubated the kid when he’d first arrived, but with the Tetrodotoxin B, so many things could go wrong.
Tony was allowed in the room while the team monitored Peter’s vitals closely as the Tetrodotoxin B took effect. He was able to hold Peter’s hand. The kid’s heartbeat was already irregular because of the posion, but soon, his heartbeat became nearly undetectable.
Tony was soon ushered back out of the room. Cho and the team could tell that Tony was becoming more and more worried as Peter’s vital signs declined. He was aware of what Tetrodotoxin B does to people, but it was still distressing to hear and see the signs that your kid appeared dead.
May hadn’t been in the room at that point. Tony had only been allowed because he’d followed Cho, and she hadn’t stopped him. Now, Tony and May sat in the waiting room, eager for updates on their kid’s condition.
~~~~~~
Helen Cho took another blood sample twenty minutes after the initial Tetrodotoxin B injection. The good news was that it was slowing down the deadly spread of the toxin in Peter’s system. She quickly took her blood sample back to the lab for analysis, and was thrilled with what she found.
It appeared as if the Tetrodotoxin B was binding with the tetrodotoxin that had been ingested. The only problem was that the quantity of poison in Peter’s system was in excess of what the Tetrodotoxin B could bind with. She’d either need to acquire more Tetrodotoxin B or find another way to get the poison out.
She hoped that they could find an alternate cure as opposed to using more of the Tetrodotoxin B. The more Tetrodotoxin B a person is injected with, the more chance it has to have deadly side effects. If too much Tetrodotoxin B is used, it could stop Peter’s heart before the poison could kill him.
Cho and her team would have to proceed with caution.
~~~~~~
Dan Tong and Rick Wong did not have a fun time as they were forcefully escorted into an armored S.H.I.E.L.D. vehicle for transport to prison. They knew that S.H.I.E.L.D. would question them relentlessly until they gave up their leaders and ratted out the rest of their group.
Fury observed the scene as the two attempted murderers were driven away. He knew that those two definitely weren't going to have fun when the interrogations would start.
Fury glanced around and sighed as he took in the amount of press that was covering what had happened to Stark’s kid. He casually walked back into the restaurant and approached Happy and Pepper. Happy was waiting with Pepper as she had to stay back and give a witness statement even though S.H.I.E.L.D. had shown up to handle things.
Fury made no indication that he noticed Happy Hogan’s scowl as he approached the two.
He spoke “Ms. Potts. I trust that you did not ingest anything poisonous, as you are not currently fighting to breathe.”
Happy’s scowl deepened.
Pepper questioned “What are you even doing here? Why did you come? This isn’t an Avengers level threat. Oh. Oh my gosh. Was it supposed to be an Avengers level threat?”
Pepper’s eyes were wide as Fury answered “It had the potential to be an Avengers level threat. We got lucky that the situation turned out as it did. Tonight's events have allowed S.H.I.E.L.D. to catch a couple of people from an upcoming criminal group.”
Happy practically growled as he said “What do you mean by it being lucky?”
Fury rolled his eyes as he said “Calm down, Hogan. I don’t mean that it was a good thing that the kid was poisoned. I just mean that it was a good thing that the perpetrators were caught before they could kill Tony or go after another target. Though, I must admit, losing the kid would be a major blow, especially where spiders are concerned.”
After that sentence, he was greeted with surprised looks from Hogan and Potts. Fury had tried to keep it on the down low that he knew Peter’s identity until Cho needed the Tetrodotoxin B. Fury hadn’t even needed to know the specifics of the kid’s enhancement to know that someone like Spider-Man would need an elevated dose of Tetrodotoxin B for it to work like Cho needed it to work.
Fury spoke again “My business here is finished. You and Stark are free to release whatever information you need to or want to release so long as it does not mention that a new criminal organization tried to make their first move tonight. This matter became public as soon as the first reporter caught sight of my S.H.I.E.L.D. team. I do have to say that it was nice working with your friend Ms. Potts. She’s a wonderful agent, and her idea for this was brilliant to weasel the stalkers out.”
Fury then turned around and left. Happy and Pepper watched as he left, surprised looks covering both of their faces.
~~~~~~
After another hour, Pepper and Happy had made it to the tower. Pepper had regained most of her composure as she had begun to compose a press release to post on SI’s website. They were all still waiting in the MedBay. Only a couple at a time were allowed in Peter’s room at a time. It was quite distressing to see that the kid was paler than usual, and wasn’t moving at all.
They all hoped that Cho and her team would come up with something to help Peter quickly. The longer the kid was under the effects of Tetrodotoxin B, the more chance there was that the kid wouldn’t recover.
~~~~~~
Earlier the next morning, Tony reluctantly had to debrief with Fury. He was enraged as Fury gave him the full details of the situation.
“FURY! WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT?! YOU COULD HAVE AT LEAST WARNED US SO THAT I COULD KEEP MY KID AND PEPPER SAFE! HOW DID YOU EVEN KNOW THAT PEPPER AND I WOULD ACCEPT THE INVITATION ANYWAY! WHY DID YOU CREATE SUCH AN ELABORATE SET-UP?!” Tony angrily questioned.
Fury calmly looked at Tony and replied “It would have jeopardized the mission. Had you known that the threat was there, you would have overreacted, and things could have gone worse. Had you known that the whole thing was an undercover operation to weed out who was actually trying to get to you, you would have gone in guns blazing and there would have been more casualties. You’re too reckless, Stark.”
Tony glared at Fury as he gritted his teeth.
He eventually replied “I don’t care what you think about me Fury, but if you ever allow my family to enter a potentially harmful situation again just so that you can attempt to subtly catch someone who’s targeting one of the team, I will not hesitate to knock you off of whatever pedestal you hold yourself on! My son is dying because of your stupid decisions! If he dies, I will have your head!”
Fury rolled his eyes as he listened to Tony’s rant continue. He knew that Stark had power, but he was pretty confident that Stark couldn’t get him fired. Even if he could, it’s not like he’s worried about it. Looking at the plan again though, it had been a bit oafish that they hadn't weaseled the criminals out quicker.
He soon started listening to Tony’s rant again once he did hear a pertinent question.
Tony questioned “Why didn’t I ever detect that someone was stalking me? Why wasn't I informed that another criminal organization had formed?”
Fury grimaced and answered “Your A.I. did have the information, but I’ve had my team monitoring your servers and I had them block that information from your access. This wasn’t just a random hit on you, Stark. They’d been tracking your moves. You may have thought that it was just some random cook who got a lucky break, and yes it was lucky that they just so happened to have the supplies needed to poison the food, but they had plans far worse than just poisoning you. They’re going to a maximum security prison because you are only one in a long line of people they had plans to execute. This was not simply just a plan for revenge, Stark. Many of these details will remain classified until we can reform the Accords and get the team back together again. S.H.I.E.L.D. has been going through hell while trying to keep track of every single threat that the Avengers used to may have handled.”
Tony stared at him with stunned silence until he growled in anger.
“How the FUCK did you ever get that much access to my servers?!” Tony emphatically questioned.
Fury leveled him with a look saying “You really have to ask.”
Tony then balled his fists up in anger as he cursed Natasha Romanoff. The traitorous woman had done more than simply betray him.
Tony knew that he’d have to rectify that later and see if he could undo any damage that the S.H.I.E.L.D. idiots may have done to any of the coding within his servers.
He leveled Fury with another angry look as he said “This meeting’s over. I’m done here.”
Tony left before he could pound Fury into the ground. His anger had reached a new level.
Ming Lee sighed as she tried to call Pepper again. She hated that she had lied to her friend when it came to the true reasons why she had opened a restaurant. It was just another assignment from Fury after she'd come up with the initial idea, and she had taken it without a second thought of how it could hurt her friendship with Pepper.
Now, Pepper was ghosting her. Ming couldn’t really blame her for that very much. Not to mention, they were going through a hard time right now because the kid that always hung around Stark was poisoned.
Pepper no doubt knew that she was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent now.
Ming was slightly surprised when Pepper answered after the fifth ring.
Pepper questioned “What do you want, Ming? Was our friendship ever real?”
Ming winced as she replied “It was real, Virginia. You’ve known me ever since you were in college. I just hid my S.H.I.E.L.D. agent status from you because I was supposed to, even after you got further involved with Stark and learned about S.H.I.E.L.D.. I’m sorry about the kid.”
Ming heard Pepper sigh over the line and then say “I’ll talk to you again eventually, Ming. At this point, I don’t even know if I ever knew you. Give me some time. I’m getting tired of things like this being hidden from me. First it was Natasha being undercover here, and now you were undercover when I thought that I was just coming out to celebrate a friend opening a new business. I’m sorry, Ming, but I need time to think about a few things.”
Ming bit her lip and responded “I understand. I hope to talk to you again later. Bye, Virginia.”
Ming turned her phone off and rubbed her hands over her tired face. Sometimes it was hard being a secret agent for S.H.I.E.L.D..
~~~~~~
It was still a waiting game as Helen was trying new methods of treatment on the blood samples she had taken from Peter. The toxin was slowly clearing from Peter’s system, but not at a rate that would allow him to recover properly when coming out of being comatose due to the Tetrodotoxin B.
Helen wasn’t about to give up. She wasn’t going to let the kid die. That kid had been through so much in just the short amount of time that she’d known him, and she was never going to give up on trying to flush the poison out of the kid’s body.
She’d known him for about five months at this point, as she’d met him shortly after the incident with the Vulture, and they’d developed drugs that would actually help dull his pain when he got injured. She’d also helped him with calorie consumption problems.
She may be a geneticist, but she was also one of the few known people that had the expertise to work with enhanced persons. She once again observed the sample of Peter’s blood.
She knew that the Tetrodotoxin B was helping, but she was unsure if she could enhance those effects to fully flush the poison out of the kid’s system. Maybe she could try to modify the Tetrodotoxin B further so that it would attract and nullify more of the bad tetrodotoxin.
She had read the unpublished research papers written by Dr. Banner ages ago when she’d first started working with Tony Stark and Dr. Banner before the whole mess with the Accords. She knew the process of how to modify tetrodotoxin. She was confident that she could do it.
She quickly got to work on isolating samples that she could use.
Hours later, she smiled as she tested her new Tetrodotoxin derivative on a sample of Peter’s blood. She was happy as when she tested it, it was ten times more efficient at detecting and eliminating the bad tetrodotoxin.
After another few rounds of testing her new derivative, she was ready to attempt treating Peter. She had already received approval from Stark to do as she needed in an effort to save Peter’s life. She and her team were soon on their way back to Peter’s room.
~~~~~~
Peter felt awful as he regained some awareness. He could smell that he was in the tower’s MedBay, but he was confused as he couldn’t even open his eyes. He couldn’t even breathe on his own.
His spider sense was elevated to a painful level. He was panicking inside his head as he took note that his body was not responding to anything he was trying to get it to do. It also felt kind of painful that he wasn’t consciously breathing on his own. He could also feel that he was connected to an IV line as cool fluid entered his veins.
He could also hear the beeping of some of the medical equipment. He had no clue why he couldn’t move. He wished that his body would at least react to his sense of panic, but his heart rate remained the same at one beat a minute.
He was eventually brought out of his spiral as he heard Dr. Cho coming into the room while directing the nurse to check his vitals again. Peter was only a little bit relieved when he could hear Tony and May’s heartbeats. He knew that they were likely watching whatever was happening from outside his room.
He then heard them talking about something called tetrodotoxin. He’d vaguely heard about that before in school. Something about it was toxic if ingested. It then dawned on him that that was likely what had happened to him. He was so confused.
Peter was zoned out from the words the doctors and nurses were saying until he felt something get injected directly into his arm instead of intravenously. It was distressing to still be able to feel things, but not be able to move.
He wished that he could lose consciousness again, but it just wouldn’t happen.
~~~~~~
Helen smiled as she approached Tony and May in the hallway.
She spoke “I’m not sure how much of an update F.R.I.D.A.Y. has given you, but I can say that I have possibly found a cure. I formulated a modified version of Tetrodotoxin B that should be working to bind with the poisonous tetrodotoxin and get it out of his system. In a way, his body will still be absorbing the chemicals, but they will no longer harm him as the Tetrodotoxin B derivative is neutralizing the poison. I project that in a matter of a few hours, the poison will be completely gone from Peter’s system. It will likely be another couple of hours after that until he will wake up, as we did have to give multiple doses of Tetrodotoxin B and the derivative dose which will keep him in a comatose or death-like state.”
May and Tony let out a relieved breath. Their kid was going to be okay.
May happily said “Thank you Dr. Cho. I can’t express how much it means to both Tony and I that you figured out a way to save our kid’s life.”
Tony nodded along with May’s statement as he stared at Peter’s prone form through the glass while smiling. Helen smiled as she left the relieved parents. She’d continue monitoring Peter’s condition until he would wake up. She wanted to make sure that the poison would be out of his system completely before she celebrated.
~~~~~~
Peter’s internal panic calmed minutely when he heard Tony and May come into the room. He could hear when they sat down in the chairs that had been brought for them. He could feel when Tony ran a hand through his hair and kissed him on the forehead while May gripped his hand and soothingly rubbed a finger over it. It was almost as if they could tell that he was conscious, but just couldn’t move.
They stayed with him for hours, and he listened to them converse. He knew that they were both extremely worried about him. At a few different moments he’d even been visited by Happy and Pepper.
Eventually, he was able to slip back into unconsciousness, hoping that what Tony and May said about him waking up soon would become a reality.
~~~~~~
Dr. Cho was in the room when Peter finally began to stir. She had recently done another check of his blood, and was happy to report that the toxin was almost completely out of the kid’s system, and that the Tetrodotoxin B would be wearing off soon.
Peter happened to begin the process of waking up while Happy, May, Tony, and Pepper were all in the room. May held his hand while Tony kept a comforting hand on his shoulder. Pepper and Happy stood at the end of the bed while Dr. Cho monitored his waking process.
Peter groaned as he regained consciousness. Helen checked his IV once more and monitored Peter’s vitals. She was happy to see that they were mostly within normal range for a mutated spider-kid.
Eventually, Peter was fully awake, and tearful as his family members gently hugged him. Dr. Cho called her team into the room. She could tell that Peter was uncomfortable. They’d have to extubate soon.
She kindly requested the family members to back up for a little bit while she coached Peter through the extubation. It unfortunately had not been the first time that the kid had ever had to be extubated.
She advised against his speaking for a little while after extubation, as his throat would be sore for a little while, and luckily he heeded her recommendation, but she could easily see the longing in his eyes when he looked towards his family.
She and her team soon left the room after taking another blood sample for analysis.
Tony and May soon flocked to one side of his hospital bed while happy and Pepper flocked to the other. Peter smiled in relief as tears filled his eyes. It was a comfort when May gripped his hand and did the familiar motion of rubbing her thumb over it. It was even more calming when Tony gently passed a hand through his hair.
Once the tears had cleared a little bit, he motioned that he wanted hugs. His wishes were granted as a group hug occurred. He knew that F.R.I.D.A..Y. would have a photo of the hug on record for future uses.
Soon, Pepper passed him a Stark tablet which allowed him to communicate with them without straining his vocal cords much. He smiled and typed out a long message.
The message was dictated by F.R.I.D.A.Y. “Thank you for staying with me. I was so scared when I got sick in that restaurant and couldn’t breathe. I was so scared when I first woke up here and couldn’t open my eyes. You guys helped me get over the panic from that and relax. Thank you for not giving up on me.”
Tony then said “We’d never give up on you, kid. You’re a part of this family. I hate that you were scared and conscious during some of this mess.”
Peter smiled and Tony hugged him again.
F.R.I.D.A.Y. then announced “Dr. Cho has done analysis of the most recent blood sample and would like me to report that all of the tetrodotoxin has been removed from Peter’s system. He will make a full recovery.”
Once that announcement was made, more hugs were shared. Everyone was glad that the kid had made it through that horrific experience.
~~~~~~
Peter yelped in surprise as he fell off his lab chair. It had been about a month since he’d been poisoned, and he and Tony were now fixated on working on strengthening Stark servers. They were going so far as to create entirely new servers and encrypt them much better than the previous ones.
Peter had fallen asleep at his bench while finishing up the last parts of the encryption on the Spider-Man files. Tony had told him about everything that had gone on that night with S.H.I.E.L.D. and how they’d basically been spying on all of them using old codes that Natasha Romanoff had given Director Fury.
Peter had been a little bit alarmed that Director Fury knew his identity, but Tony had assured him that nothing bad should come of it. Though, that didn’t stop Tony from adding more safety protocols to Peter’s suit for if Director Fury ever did try to mess with him.
Peter shook himself out of his thoughts and yawned.
He wasn’t startled when F.R.I.D.A.Y. called out “Peter, I must insist that you go to your room and sleep. Mr. Stark has asked me to warn you that he will come down if you do not agree to leave the lab. He will also tell Ms. Parker if you do not sleep.”
Peter groaned as he said “Yeah, I know. I’m going. I just came up with the last touches to finish my encryption and make it stronger.”
Peter soon made his way up to the penthouse and went to the guest room that was pretty much his own room, especially since it was basically stated after the poisoning incident that Peter was his kid in everything but blood. That had been a PR nightmare for Pepper to clean up after Tony had posted that without her reviewing it first. Luckily, since he was a minor, he was not being bothered very much.
He flopped on his bed and almost immediately fell asleep.
~~~~~~
Tony woke up as his phone pinged. F.R.I.D.A.Y. had sent him a text alert that Peter had arrived back from patrolling and entered the lab. She did not want to wake Pepper.
Tony briefly pulled up the footage of his lab and watched with a smile as Peter worked on some of the encryption data for the Spider-Man files. The kid must have thought of something to add while he was out on patrol.
F.R.I.D.A.Y. texted “Should I warn him that it is late, and that he should wait for normal hours to work in the lab with you instead of by himself?”
Tony texted “No. Let him work. If he starts to fall asleep, issue a warning and tell him to go to his room and sleep. If he doesn’t do it, send me a notification, and I’ll try to convince the spider-kid to sleep. Oh, and tell him that I'll tattle to May if he doesn't sleep.”
Tony smiled warmly. The kid was a bit too much like him when it came to how much he liked to sleep, especially when he got an idea of something to do in the lab.
Tony sat his phone back down and yawned. He was happy that Peter was doing so well after everything that happened with S.H.I.E.L.D. and the poisoning. Soon, Tony fell back asleep.

The Domino Falls: Arrow 1x12 Review (Vertigo)
It’s officially 1 year today since Arrow went off the air and I thought what better way to mark the moment than by chatting about the show we all love with a review!
We have begun the slow and steady climb to more Felicity Smoak content
and “Vertigo” is a monumentally HUGE moment in Oliver and Felicity’s relationship. One little meet up at Big Belly Burger is what tips the dominoes over for Oliver Queen.
Let’s dig in...
Olicity
Let’s get right to the good stuff. Of course, there’s other stuff that happened in this episode, but do we care? Only a little. Oliver is on the hunt for The Count – the man responsible for the Vertigo epidemic and Thea’s looming drug trial. The Count is in my Top 5 of best Arrow villains. Of course his first episode coincides with an Olicity milestone. That rat bastard worked the hardest for our ship.
The judge has decided to make an example out of Ms. Queen in hopes of deterring others from trying Vertigo. Seriously, does that ever work?
So, he chucked Thea’s plea agreement right out the window. Big Bro in The Hood is hoping to serve up a bigger fish – THE FISH – to help get his sister off the hook. Oliver is generally anti innocent people dying from illicit drugs, so there are unselfish reasons at play too.
No one knows the identity of The Count, so after roughing up the streets and getting nowhere, Oliver reaches out to Alexi Leonov. We met Leonov in 1x03, but for those who need a refresher - he leads the Starling City chapter of the Bratva. This is the first time Diggle meets Leonov, discovers Oliver speaks Russian, is a captain in the Russian mob, and can fake kill someone.
It was a big day for John.
Leonov sets up the meet with The Count and Oliver attempts to buy some Vertigo off him, sans mask and arrow. The cops show up and Oliver tries to run down The Count as he escapes, but is stabbed in the chest with two syringes full of Vertigo.
Never fear, Oliver has his magic herbs from Lian Yu which apparently can cure drug overdose. (Maybe share with the rest of the world?) Vertigo makes him momentarily murderous (more than usual) and he screams a lot.
THE POINT OF ALL THIS EXPOSITION IS ALL ROADS LEAD TO FELICITY SMOAK.
Diggle and Oliver think it would be wise to have someone analyze the Vertigo… for some reason. This leads our dynamic duo to Queen Consolidated and to our favorite blonde hacker.
Felicity rambles about Oliver’s haggard appearance (re: see drug overdose) and a cat being tased (she connects those disparate dots, I assure you). He offers yet another ridiculous lie and we embark on one of the funniest scenes in Arrow’s history.
Arrow struggled to find its footing for a long time, but “Vertigo” is the beginning of the writers settling on to solid ground. If you ever have to wonder why the show focused on Oliver, Diggle and Felicity as the core characters you only need to watch this scene for the answer.
The chemistry between all the actors is amazing. Arrow is not known for its humor (especially in Season 1), but between Emily Bett Rickard’s perfect delivery of another one of Felicity’s awkward and inadvertent sexual slip ups,
Stephen Amell’s inability to stay in character as he laughs right along with us,
and David Ramsey’s stone cold straight man reaction –
this entire scene is comedy gold.
I vividly remember watching it live, laughing my ass off, and wanting more of EVERYTHING these three have to offer. And that’s exactly what we’re going get.
“I ran out of sports bottles” reigned as Arrow’s funniest scene for a solid two years (until this episode), but it also marks the worst of Oliver’s terrible lies to Felicity. It’s so bad even Diggle has to remark on it in the elevator. Oliver’s lies are horrible, everyone knows Felicity doesn’t buy a word of it, and their need for her help is increasing with every day. Something has to change.
As we discussed in 1x11, Oliver is prone to distrust and very reticent to change his mind – ever. He’s been burned so many times in the past it’s difficult for him to view anyone through a trusting lens.
And yet, Oliver told his deepest and darkest secret to a man he’d only known for a few weeks. Yes, Diggle had soldier skills Oliver would find useful as a partner. He knew John could hold his own in the field, but it’s not just about his abilities. It was also about the person Diggle is. Oliver did his homework and realized he needed John to survive. There was a wellspring of humanity in John that Oliver wasn’t able to access inside himself. He was subconsciously reaching out for help - like a moth to a flame.
It is the same with Felicity. Yes, Oliver needs her abilities – perhaps even more than what Diggle has to offer. (It’s not like Oliver Queen can’t handle himself in the field). But he is also drawn to Felicity’s warmth, kindness, humor, compassion and openness. Oliver’s heart is encased in iron and welded shut. He doesn’t know how to open it back up. It’s been dark and alone for so long. And yet, Oliver returns again and again to this brightly shining light and why? Because he craves it.
Something has to change. We need that final push, the first domino to fall, so Oliver can make that final step and tell Felicity who he really is. Diggle was easier. He’d fought a war before. Oliver also knew about Andy’s death. Remember – Oliver brought Diggle onboard when he needed help with Deadshot. Manipulative? Yes, but it worked.
Felicity is trickier. I’m sure Oliver has done his research.
Well, yes that kind of research, but also into her background. There’s no dead family member requiring retribution. No war zone she’s recently returned from. She’s an MIT graduate with a penchant for hacking working at a global conglomerate as a wildly overqualified IT tech. The girl doesn’t have so much as a parking ticket. The leap to vigilantism would be rather big.
I also think a fair amount of his hesitancy to involve her in anything related to The Hood is the danger. Diggle can handle himself. Felicity is a different story. Oliver is constantly battling the need for Felicity’s help versus the risk he’s putting her at by asking for it. The lies are to protest Oliver’s secret identity, but also to shield Felicity from it.
Whether it is Oliver’s own distrustfulness, his inability to see an angle to reel Felicity in, his desire to protect her or all three – it doesn’t matter. He continues to lie to her. Oliver isn’t ready to make that big leap either.

Until… Felicity asks to meet him at Big Belly Burger. Oliver waits for her, looking out the window on a rainy night, thinking of Yao Fei.
Oliver feared Yao Fei betrayed him and was really working for Fyers, but neither was true. He convinced Fyers of his loyalty by pretending to kill Oliver. (So that’s who Oliver learned it from!) Yao Fei wakes Oliver just as he rolls his “dead” body into the waterfall. He also slips Oliver a map with a location marked with the words “Survive.”
Oliver doubted his trust in Yao Fei, but in the end was shocked to find out he had it right all along. Yao Fei was exactly who Oliver thought he was – a good man. That final and literal push cemented Oliver’s belief in his friend and to trust his gut.
There will probably always be a debate as to when the writers began the shift towards Olicity. “We DiDn’T dEcIdE uNtIL sEaSoN 2,” is the standard story, but I’m a firm believer it began in Season 1 and often include this scene in my massive pile of evidence. The last scene in the episode either tees up the next or contains a lot of emotional significance. Felicity beings to carve out a lot of final scene time as the series progresses.
The last scene in “Vertigo” is romantically lit with rain drops shimmering on the window. Oliver and Felicity are meeting outside the office and ALONE. Soft instrumental music plays in the background. It feels more intimate than any scene they’ve shared before.

I still cannot get over Oliver “The Sex God” Queen waving at Felicity Smoak like a giddy school boy and then shaking his head over how completely uncool he looked. We watched this man leave a criminal suspended in the air with an arrow through his hand in the first scene and in the last he acts like a puppy. THE RANGE.
It’s clear Felicity is a little nervous as she exhales walking in. Is she nervous to be meeting with Oliver or nervous about what she has to say? Both. She tips her hand a bit by thanking Oliver for meeting her at Big Belly Burger. She did not want to have this discussion at the Queen mansion. (THE PLOT THICKENS).
It seems Oliver and Felicity are having similar conundrums about each other. Felicity is uncertain if she can trust Oliver and has been debating for weeks whether or not to tell him the full truth. SOUND FAMILIAR? Felicity has far more evidence of Oliver’s untrustworthiness. There’s no rambling this time. She lays out the cold hard facts which is Oliver Queen is a big, fat liar and she knows it. He knows it. They both know it. Felicity Smoak is nobody’s fool.
And yet, she trusts him. Even though Oliver has given her no reason to. Even though there are clearly things he’s not telling her. Even though Oliver has yet to show her the same trust. There is something Felicity sees in him which tells her Oliver is worthy of it. It is an unsubstantiated truth. Felicity is going with her gut and her gut says Oliver Queen is a good man.
This doesn’t stop her from asking him the simple question though. Felicity needs that little bit of reassurance before she makes the final leap.
At first, Oliver plays it off in his smarmy, smart ass and flippant way. It’s the Ollie Queen façade that always works with L*urel, Tommy, Lance, Moira and Thea.
It’s an act that’s never worked on Felicity. She sees through it now just like she’s always has. Her smile fades. Felicity breaks eye contact with Oliver and doesn’t hide her disappointment. She is tired of the games and lies. Felicity wants to talk to the real Oliver Queen. That’s the only man she will share this secret with.
All it takes is five seconds of Felicity’s disappointment for Oliver to drop the façade like a hot potato.
He even apologizes and promises Felicity he is worthy of her trust. Then, Felicity lowers the boom and hands him The List.
It is difficult to surprise Oliver Queen, but this one has him reeling. She hands the book to Oliver, the same book Robert gave him, but he hesitates taking it. He has no idea where this is going, so he defaults to his standard operating procedure and lies.
Oliver is not doing a stellar job covering his “my world is upside down” reaction, so I highly doubt Felicity believes him, but she lets it slide for now.
The more information she shares with Oliver the worse it gets. Felicity begins to fill in all the missing pieces to Walter’s disappearance and the guilt is pointing directly at Moira.
This is not the first time Oliver has reason to doubt his mother, but every time he’s able to reason away her involvement in anything nefarious. If he can’t do that on his own then Moira provides very plausible explanations (LIES), which allow Oliver to continuing looking at his family with a blind eye. But this? This is impossible to easily explain away. Particularly since WALTER was beginning to suspect his own wife.
Source: green-arrows-of-karamel
If The List cost Walter his life then Felicity is risking her own by showing it to anyone, particularly a Queen. She is literally putting her life in Oliver’s hands when she handed him that book. The first domino falls, but it’s not Oliver who pushes it over. It’s Felicity. She gives Oliver the truth when he’s given nothing but lies. Felicity trusts him absolutely when he’s done nothing to show he’s deserving of it. She risks everything while Oliver continues to hide everything.
Felicity shocks Oliver no differently than Yao Fei shocked him. We’ve been waiting all this time for Oliver to make that final step and in the end it is Felicity who gives their relationship the necessary push over the waterfall. It’s a cold awakening, but he can see things clearly now. She is like a flashlight illuminating all the answers clouded by his distrustfulness and hesitancy.
Felicity reveals so much of herself in this moment. First, she is willing to take risks if the cause is worth it. Giving Oliver that book took real courage. Second, the girl can keep a secret. She never said boo about anything related to Moira or Walter during Oliver’s little visits. Not even a hint! Three, Felicity Smoak sees clearly all the things Oliver is blind to.
This serves as an important lesson for Oliver. Felicity knows so much more than he ever gave her credit for. Most importantly, his gut was right about her and he was wrong to ever question it. Two mistakes he will never make again.
And now everything will change.
Thea and Moira
I’m not gonna sugar coat this for you guys. I was one hundred percent okay with Thea going to jail. Season 1 Thea is a pain in the ass. A couple episodes with her sitting in the slammer would be a welcomed break from the teenage ‘tude.
L*urel and Lance work out a sweetheart deal for Thea after the judge basically said he would throw the book at her. Thea will serve 500 hours of community service under the watchful gaze of L*urel Lance at CRNI. And Thea flat out refuses.
Now, typically I am a fan of anyone who tells L*urel Lance to go screw herself, but even this was too much for me. Thea wants to go to jail to stick it to her mother because she’s still convinced Moira cheated on Walter.
She didn’t cheat on Walter, Thea! Your mom just kidnapped him. So it’s fine.
Oliver decides to drop the Robert “I’m not the man you think I am” Queen bomb on Thea and tells her their father was a big hoe. Thea refuses to believe him and Moira is ticked because Oliver told the truth. Queens don’t do that EVER.
Moira: He loved you. No matter his faults. He loved you.
Thea wants to know why Moira took all the punishment for Robert’s sins and her answer is very simple. She was trying to protect Thea’s memory of her father. Moira Queen is as shady as they come, but her desire to protect her children is always the driving force of any decisions she makes – good, bad and the ugly.
Moira: One day I hope you’re lucky enough to have a daughter and then you’ll know why.
This is the essence of motherhood. We will serve ourselves up on a platter and take the brunt of their hurt and anger if we believe it protect or help our children in the long run. Right or wrong - it’s just the gig.

L*urel and Lance
L*urel and Detective Lance are really Thea’s only hope of avoiding significant jail time and, despite their history, Oliver has no problem groveling at their feet if it means protecting his sister. Luckily for Oliver, this week L*urel likes him, so she’s willing to do Thea a favor.
But her reason for wanting to help Thea turns out have very little to do with Oliver. It’s about Sara. When L*urel looks at Thea she sees all the wild abandon of Sara with all the red flags.
L*urel: For so long you and I have blamed Oliver for Sara's death, but Sara is to blame too.
Detective Lance isn’t too keen on helping Oliver or Thea, but L*urel calls out her father on his hypocrisy. He had no qualms about bailing Sara out after she shop lifted. The youngest Lance daughter seemed to get herself in to trouble long before she ever stepped onto the Queen’s Gambit and her father always helped her avoid the consequences of her actions. Until those consequences finally caught up with her.
This is the first time L*urel lays any blame at Sara’s feet. I find it wildly disturbing whenever I agree with L*urel, but damn it she has this one right. Oliver wasn’t the only one who cheated. Oliver wasn’t the only one who lied. Oliver wasn’t the only one who was selfish. Sara was all of those things too. Just because she paid for those mistakes with her life doesn’t erase the choices she made and the pain she caused. If someone held Sara responsible without destroying her life, like L*urel is trying to do with Thea just maybe she would have never gotten on the boat. Maybe.
The game of “What if?” is a torturous one. It never gives any definitive answers. But Detective Lance refusing to help Thea to stick it to Oliver isn’t fair. L*urel is right. Sure, it may hurt Oliver, but it won’t bring Sara back.
More importantly, it doesn’t hold Sara responsible in any way. Detective Lance is treating Sara the same in death as he did in life. She wasn’t a saint anymore than Thea is – no matter how much Lance romanticizes his memory of his daughter. L*urel and her father don’t resolve the Sara issue, but Lance helping Thea is an important step towards his acknowledgement of the truth and putting some of the blame where it belongs.
Stray Thoughts
Oliver is shirtless and handcuffed in the bunker is an absolutely wasted opportunity for an Olicity sex scene. Pretty sure I read a fic that started like it though. Source: @olivergifs
Bratva Oliver is cold, calculating and stylish. I don’t know what it is about that jacket you guys. It doesn’t things to me.
I say this as a person who was very anti murder throughout the show, but sometimes it’s great to watch Oliver do a little violence.
“Whoever you fear, fear me more!” As vigilante lines go this was a damn good one.
“I’m not the one going to prison.” Give it time, Moira. Give it time.
McKenna Hall makes her first episode appearance as the rotation of female guest stars continues while show desperately searches for a love interest Stephen has chemistry because it ain’t Katie Cassidy. (Psst! You found THE ONE already!!! Call off the search!)
Just for you multifandom folks out there McKenna is also Qetsiyah on The Vampire Diaries.
Why doesn’t Oliver give a sketch to the police of The Count? That could be helpful.
“I don’t need the bow.” Yeah, but you need to walk straight!
Musings of the Kiddo
Kiddo: How many times does he do this to her?
Me: Lie? A lot. She was very patient with him.

[CN] Kiro’s R&S - Stunning Young Idol (Eng Translation)
🍒This R&S (惊艳的少年偶像领军人物) was part of the Dream Heart Lake event which will unlikely come to EN🍒
Context: An article in a Japanese magazine

Cancelled Kiro R&S:
> top experimental subject (by another user)
> stunning young idol ♡
> youthhood
> heaven’s home for children (by another user)
[ Chapter 1 ]
Our interview with Kiro went very pleasantly. No one who attended the interview disliked him. Even our photographer, who has always been averse to young male idols, was full of praise.
Come to think of it, it’s no easy feat for this child to maintain such a transparent and innocent heart in an industry where crooks mix with honest folks. Readers who know him are definitely aware that he debuted in France at the age of six.
Back then, he accepted an interview in Paris for a television program. His tiny frame was seated in the large sofa, his legs not long enough to touch the floor, and were dangling in the air.
Many people were afraid that we wouldn’t be able to find this precious video clip. It was only through the recording Agent Savin sent that we could obtain this young and tender moment of Kiro.
Although the video clip has already been kept by Kiro’s agency and not accessible to the public, I can disclose it slightly through this interview.
The person who interviewed Kiro was Eva Saidel, a French female singer who was tremendously popular for a time. The beautiful Eva had asked Kiro if he could perform a song for her. Young Kiro nodded, obedient and filled with a gentlemanly demeanour as he responded, “Yes ma’am.”
-
[ Chapter 2 ]
Kiro performed Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata”. It wasn’t surprising that he liked Beethoven - all pianists definitely like Beethoven.
Saidel asked if he knew how to play other instruments. He replied by saying he also knew the violin, but was afraid that his neck would become crooked if he kept practising it. Everyone at the scene started laughing. Ms Saidel laughed excessively as well, and it was evident that she liked this child very much.
At the time, Kiro was wearing an adorable checkered shirt and a small, adorable hat. He even wore an official-looking tie. His cute appearance was sure to attract the attention of many.
A large proportion of Europeans knew of a mixed-race child who spoke fluent French, and would occasionally appear on the television to sing for them, or play classical pieces. They also gradually knew that his name was “Kiro” - this was a stage name he called himself when he debuted.
Eva Saidel, who had once interviewed him, liked him very much. Kiro said that he would always remember Ms Saidel’s luxurious and spotlessly white mansion. He would sit on the sofa in the mansion and listen to the old albums played by Ms Saidel.
Saidel also hired an incredibly renowned celloist from France to teach Kiro how to play the cello. I think many people don't know about this period from his past.
As of today, Saidel is already in her sunset years, and still remains in contact with Kiro.
When Kiro held a concert in Paris last month, the first person he invited as a guest was Saidel. He also played the song “Träumerei” using the cello she gave him.
“Back then, it was as though I returned to my childhood years. Ms Saidel is very kind, like a mother. She is extremely giving towards me.”
-
[ Chapter 3 ]
After junior high school in France, Kiro listened to Ms Saidel’s advice and studied in a high school in California. The intelligent Ms Saidel predicted everything - Kiro’s talent would be discovered very quickly.
After one performance, he was signed on with the renowned Warner Music Company. At the time, he was in Year Three, but never forgot his homework, and even entered Berkeley University with stellar results.
By the time he was in Year 4 (in contrast to Japan, high school in America spans four years, while elementary school spans five), he had already formed a band and was touring in various places. Warner Music is an experienced company with incredible foresight, and they allowed Kiro to return to France to begin his music career.
The number of fans Kiro had in Europe was astounding. The women in Europe found his mixed-race looks and his breathtaking voice unforgettable. Their concerts drew large crowds, and it would sometimes be difficult to obtain tickets. 90% of the females were there for Kiro. Such attractive force was rarely seen.
Actually, when we were interviewing Kiro, we could also feel the charisma he exuded. It’s a kind of magic which renders people unable to resist.
With just a smile, he easily won our hearts.
We have no idea why that’s the case. Perhaps it’s because he’s Kiro.
-
On the topic of whether he gleaned anything from his four years in Berkeley University, Kiro spoke without reservation and commented that he felt a lot of stress as there were many elite students. Hence, he had to fork out even more effort than usual to face each examination.
When he was in Year Three, Kiro continued touring with the band. He disclosed that he used to do his homework on the plane. When his band was touring the entirety of Europe, his band members would spend their spare time exploring the picturesque towns while Kiro would be holding his books and revising in the hotel.
When we asked why he was so hardworking, he replied by saying that he didn’t want his professors to stop liking him because of a drop in his grades.
In reality, every teacher who has met him like him very much. But because of this, Kiro always remained in fear. From beginning to end, he felt that the love and care from people was akin to smoke - surging at first, but dissipates gradually.
-
[ Chapter 4 ]
Kiro told us that he had felt very scared when he made the sudden decision to return to China after graduating from university. After all, there were many excellent artistes in China, and he was afraid that he wouldn’t receive love from fans.
But reality is always unexpected. His act of returning to China to develop was extremely correct. It allowed people in Asia to notice his radiant light. The artiste from China that the media in Korea likes reporting on the most is Kiro. Every now and then, he would cause a sensation there, but they would be for issues that aren’t important.
In Japan, he truly stirred a sensation through “Three Kingdoms”, a movie he was in half a year ago. He played the role of Sun Ce.
“The History of the Three Kingdoms” enjoyed widespread popularity in Japan.
This movie adaptation of “Three Kingdoms” was incredibly well received in Japan, and everyone was enthusiastic about the contents of the movie.
Even now, Kiro can recall how life was like with the cast and crew. in order to play the role of Sun Ce, he had to dye his golden coloured hair black, wear headgear, don extremely thick armour, and he had to put on brown contact lenses. His headgear was very cumbersome and heavy. If it hadn’t fit, it would have squeezed and pressed on his head, turning him into a “Flat Kiro”.
In the process of filming “Three Kingdoms”, his favourite scenes were the ones where he was on a horse, because the horse could help share the weight of his armour, and the horse would always end up gasping for air. His most deeply etched memory was when he didn’t control the amount of pressure when riding the horse, causing it to toss him onto the ground. His chest was almost trampled by the horse, and he almost lost his life.
He rarely shares this incident with others. “It’d be so embarrassing if other people knew about it,” he laughed while telling this to us. Even now, I can still remember his brilliant smile. “The agent gave me a scolding after he found out about it. The director and assistant director also said that I had angered the horse, which is why it took revenge on me.”
Afterwards, the crew and cast from “Three Kingdoms” specially came to Japan to promote the movie. During that time, “Three Kingdoms” ranked number one in the box-office ratings. And this was even though Kiro didn’t have many scenes in the movie - he only made an appearance for ten minutes.
But because of this short opportunity, movie fans in Japan started to know of Kiro. Looks like our meeting with Kiro was also destined.
He said he could never forget the image of how numerous fans rushed to Haneda Airport to receive him when the crew and cast just arrived in Tokyo.
Kiro confessed that he had never thought that he’d receive such a large fanbase in a foreign country.
The enthusiasm of the fans in Japan caused him to feel extremely flattered. And his trip to Japan this time was no exception. There were even more fans who received him at the airport than before.
Precisely because of this astounding attractive force, Kiro became a superstar who could perform in the Tokyo Dome.
-
[ Chapter 5 ]
At this point, I think everyone has some basic understanding of this adorable boy. He isn’t just a pretty face (even though there are many such artistes nowadays).
I highly recommend his latest single, “Ash”, which has a somewhat heavy metal rock music style. But he has recently started shifting towards pop music, and has clearly stated that he would spend even more time on music, and would temporarily reject a few invitations to variety shows or television dramas.
This means that for now, we might not see an invigorated Kiro on television screens. Fans will definitely grieve over this, but there’s no need to be too upset, because Kiro will bring a new album to us. During the interview, he revealed that the first song in his new album would be a heavy bomb!
The composer who was involved in producing this song also noted that this song could potentially alter what “popular music” is in Asia.
So, let’s look forward to the surprises this youth will bring us, and letting us know from this interview --
That we should never underestimate this youth.
The concert at the Tokyo Dome will commence a week later. Although tickets have already been swept up, there’s no need to feel discouraged. This magazine still has a lucky draw activity for fans. We will select three lucky readers and give out three front-row tickets to the concert at the Tokyo Dome. More information can be found on our official website.

Headcanons for being Peter Parker’s sister
Peter Parker x sister!reader
warnings:
a/n: this is LONG
prompt: @coffeeaff: “Hc where y/n is Peter Parker's sister!”
let’s start this out by stating the obvious: you were Peter’s other half
ever since you were kids, it’s always been “Peter and Y/N”
sometimes you’d literally have to be pried apart bc you refused to leave each other’s sides
may and ben went from zero kids to two in a day and had no idea where to go from there
especially when you and peter had nerf wars
“what are we gonna do, ben?”
*ben, cocking his nerf gun* “it’s nerf or nothing?”
once your aunt and uncle got the hang of things, you were all one big team
peter and you started growing up and going to school
it was new and scary for you
you came up with a secret way to say “i love you” to each other bc you were afraid the 5 year olds would make fun of you
“the lion says hi” (you were 5 and you really liked the wizard of oz)
every year you got placed in the same elementary school classes, turning into some of the most delightful kids who kept to themselves most of the time and showed real promise
until one year they wanted to put you in separate classes to see how you’d do alone
you and peter simultaneously had tantrums until they called may and ben and calmed you down
“what’s that noise?” -teacher at least 35 doors down the hall
the school almost switched your class so you’d be together again, but ben decided that the two of you needed a little bit of space to grown on your own
which worked! now when you guys got home, you’d run to your shared room and tell each other all the third grade gossip
by the time you reached middle school, you were in half of each other’s classes and most of the same clubs
by high school, peter was begging you to join band and the decathlon team
you can’t tell me you guys didn’t take the same foreign language class to talk to each other
“j'ai renversé du chocolat chaud sur le canapé” (I spilled hot chocolate on the couch)
“je vais retourner le coussin” (i’ll go flip the cushion)
now here’s where things get interesting
you were the first to know about peter’s newfound powers
because you walked into your shared room while he was stuck to the ceiling
“hey, uh, i can explain in a minute, but can you maybe possibly help me down?”
it took you an hour
he fell on top of you
“sorry! sorry, sorry! i’m sorry”
“start talking, please”
peter explained that he had the powers for 2 weeks and he has gotten stuck to so many things
he was scared
“don’t tell anyone!”
“since when have i been a snitch?”
you and him using your science brains to figure out how to deal with all of this
then ben died and everything wasn’t so good for a while
you’d find each other crying alone a lot
then sitting together and crying
and comforting aunt may every chance you got
sometimes you and peter made cookies for her and now peter likes baking and cooking
peter decided to become “spider-man”
which you weren’t completely psyched over but you weren’t totally against either
“pros: my brother is a super hero, cons: it’s dangerous and if i lose you, me and may will be very very sad. we already lost ben”
thrifting together
clothes and electronics
“do we really have to go through the trash, too?”
“yes, y/n, there could be some really cool stuff here!” *peter holds up a mechanical keyboard* “score!”
missing trains together
walking to school/home together
showing each other new music
walking into your apartment and finding tony freaking stark on your couch
sitting with may on the couch until tony calls you into the room
“so you helped create the webs for his suit?”
“i have no idea—”
“y/n, he knows”
“yes, yes i did”
getting to work as tony’s engineer/scientist apprentice
“y/n, this is a little weapon that i am gifting you so that if peter ever does something stupid, you can lend a hand. that is all it is for, kapeesh?”
mr. stark this, mr. stark that
peter’s tired, bruised-ass self crawling through your bedroom window at 2am was actually pretty normal
you are his wingman
he had to copy your homework a lot
“you owe me”
you almost died on the washington d.c. field trip but you were the chillest person there bc you knew peter was nearby
“dude! why are you so calm?” -flash
(fast forward to infinity war)
“holy shit! we’re all gonna die!” -ned
you grabbed peter’s arm right before he left
“lion says hi” you chuckled with fear in your eyes
“lion says hi” he repeated, handing you his hoodie from out of his bag “if i lose this, may will freak. keep it safe.”
you and ned talking about spider business on the bus
“do you still have that thing mr. stark gave you? the secret weapon?”
“yeah but it’s not much use right now”
you seeing a certain spider being lifted into space
calling the suit itself bc you have access to the comms
“peter? peter, what the hell are you doing? come back!” you were staring out the bus window
*line disconnected*
you called pepper
“ms. potts? hi, it’s y/n”
“they’re in space”
“are they coming back?”
“god, i hope”
and then may dusted
and all your friends dusted
and you were freaking out
and pepper called you
“oh, my god, thank god you’re okay”
“are peter and tony okay?”
“i have no idea.” she’s crying now “is your aunt okay?”
“she’s gone” you’re crying now
“oh, jesus. okay, hey, don’t worry, everything will be alright. i’m gonna get you a ride to the avengers compound. everyone we need is meeting there”
waiting weeks to find tony and your brother
your hopes were so high when captain marvel brought the ship back
you, steve, and pepper got there so fast
but your heart dropped when you heard “i lost the kid”
pepper and tony decided to adopt you since you weren’t quite 18 yet and tony knew what it was like to be young and alone
and you looked up to tony and pepper anyways
and they had already started to see you and peter as their “crazy ass yet talented nephew and niece” (tony’s words)
you were a bridesmaid in the wedding, though
and you’d never had a sister, so morgan was pretty great
you babysat a lot after you left the house because you secretly liked being back home
when the snap was reversed, everything was really really weird
peter was 5 years younger than you
you fought against thanos in a suit that you built yourself
peter didn’t know it was you until you landed in front of him to protect him and lifted your mask up with tears in your eyes
it was the most emotional hug you ever had
may was super proud of who you grew up to be
but she was upset she didn’t get to be there during some of the most important years of your life
mourning tony with your brother, trying to comfort him the best that you could
telling him all about the past five years
still having one of the strongest family bonds you could imagine because that’s the way it is

What about a curse that keeps Eclipse locked into her wolf form for about a week?
This actually happened to her in her youth! So let’s go to the past and get a look at Craft and Eclipse’s relationship and meet her older sister Bertie as well!
(y’all finally get to see my human form for Conductor’s Daughter/Mother of the Pecklings!)
(also yes those bite marks on Bertie came from a baby Eclipse. Bertie has known Eclipse her whole life since Fenrir and DJ Knew Connie since Eclipse was like 2 years old. Bertie met her soon after DJ and Connie started dating and she held the werewolf pup wrong and got bit a few times. she doesn’t hold it against her tho cuz she was just a baby)
“Well. When you said something happened to keep you from getting your homework, this isn’t what I expected.” Craft stared at the wolf as she covered her face with her paws.
“I-I grabbed something I shouldn’t have,” she whined as they set the notes down. She huffed and rolled onto her back, “Pappy says I should be able to shift back to human in a week.” she sighed, “this is pecking shitty.”
“I don’t know, you could bite a guy’s head off!” Craft laughed and moved to rub her belly. Her tail thumped, “I’ll photocopy the notes. Did DJ tell the school?”
“As far as they know my illness has flared back up.” she huffed, sniffing, “you smell weird.”
“I’m trying cologne.” they frowned, “I’m not sure if I’m feeling it or not. I just know I don’t feel… right. But…” they sighed, “oh but my binder is almost here! I’m excited to try that!”
“That’s great!” Eclipse rolled over and stuck her tongue out as she panted some, “I hope that helps you!!! I can only imagine how it feels not feeling… right. In your own body.” she looked at her paws, “I know it’s not the same but… beast… human… I don’t know where I fall.” she sighed and placed her head down. She laughed as Craft began to pet her head.
“Eclipse is Eclipse.” they smiled and hugged the giant wolf’s head, “you’re my best friend.”
“Craft is Craft; You’re my best friend.” She lifted her head to rub against the black-haired teen.
“Oh, I’m thinking to dye my hair, do you think your sister can help?” Craft asked as they sat beside her, “I want to go lighter but I’m afraid because of how dark my hair is.”
“Bert may be able to. Let’s ask.” Eclipse stood up and shook her fur, sending some flying, “ugh I’m shedding.”
“Do you have a big brush?” Craft snickered.
“I do at the doctor’s. He brushes me out some nights because I guess werewolf fur is used in some medications. Weirdly.” she shuddered as she stood on her legs to reach the second story window, “Beeerrrtttiiieeeeeeeee!” She tapped her claws on the siding, “Berrrtttiiiieeeeeee question.” she barked.
“What?” The young woman threw the window open, her spikey blonde hair pulled back in a rather fluffy ponytail, “Wha’s the issue ‘clipse?” she asked as she let her younger sister give her a wolf kiss. She laughed, “Quit that.” she reached to stroke the wolf’s muzzle, “I ain’t gonna giv ya an extra steak cuz ya cute. Pa would have me head.”
“Noooo not that.” Eclipse laughed as her tail swished, “Can you help Craft with her… his? Craft what pronoun are you using today?” she peeked down.
“I’m trying “his” today. It’s better than she.” He laughed, “I have no idea if it’s right for me but, what was it DJ said, ain’t gonna know if I don’t try?” he shrugged, “I wanna dye my hair like. Pink. Can you help?”
“Hrm. I think I ‘ave some bleach I can use.” Bertie chuckled as Eclipse barked happily. “Lemme check, you can head inside if ya want. Or we can use the shop since miss meat fer brains canne fit in the house right now.” Bertie sneered.
Eclipse flattened her ears with a huff, “it’s not like I asked to be a giant wolf.” she huffed and pushed back from the house to stand on the ground. She hung her head sadly.
“Let’s use the school so Eclipse can be included!” Craft grinned widely as he put his hands behind his head, “I bet this is a change of pace!”
“Ye! Normally Aye’m dying her hair dark! Now that’s a thought…” Bertie put a hand to her chin, “Wounder if we could dye yer fur.”
Eclipse blinked, “we can try?” she offered, “we have a week of me like this.” she snickered, “I can be a Lisa Frank wolf!”
“Now that’d be a sight!” Craft cackled as he headed around, trailing alongside the wolf.
“I think I have enough dye. Nen wanted green hair so they brought a bunch ova last week.” Bertie chuckled as she headed inside to gather supplies. Eclipse laid outside the diving school and rolled onto her back with a big stretch. Craft grinned and flopped onto her belly making her gasp and laugh as he began to pet her. She thumped her tail as her sister returned with a small folding table.
Bertie scoffed, “now that’s unfair! He gets belly access?”
“Craft is my bestie, of course he can!” Eclipse laughed as her sister began to scritch her chin.
“I’m your sister I should get access too you big lug.” She cackled loudly as Eclipse huffed.
“If you ask nicely maaaybbbeeee.” the wolf grinned.
“Can I pet the softest fur on tha planet?” Bertie asked with a big grin.
“Yes!” Eclipse giggled as her sister pet her.
“Some days I’m so jealous of ya.” Bertie sighed, “But not this week.”
“I’m not exactly proud of myself.” Eclipse huffed.
“What did you grab anyway?” Craft shifted to sit on the wolf’s stomach as her front paws pulled him down. She was quiet. Craft snickered, “Moony what did you grabbbb.” he teased and leaned on his arms.
“It was a little wolf statue.” She admitted with a whine, “Mister Marcus says that it would have turned a normal human into a werewolf. But since I’m already a werewolf….”
“You got stuck. That’s hilariously you.”
She whined as her sister laughed and shifted to finish setting up.
“Are you parents going to be okay with me dying your hair, Craft?” Bertie asked with a scowl, “I know they can be…”
“I’m staying with my aunt now.” Craft scratched his cheek, “my parents aren’t super happy with me right now, so she offered to let me stay there until I’m a little older.” he gave a heavy sigh.
He laughed when Eclipse licked his face.
“If ya need, Pa and DJ are sure ta let ya chill here as much as ya need.” Bertie hummed as she prepared the bleach, “You can keep meat fer brains on a leash.”
“Nooooo.” Eclipse whined. She shifted as Craft climbed down and used his shirt to wipe the wolf drool off his face.
“Go wash yer hair in the sink, I put some of pa’s shampoo there.” Bertie instructed, “Also if ya need help with any stuff, ya know you can talk to me an Nena. They can introduce ya to a good doctor, friendly towards trans folk.”
“Thanks Bert.” Craft rubbed his cheek, “Maybe. Right now I’m gonna just. Try and figure myself out.” he huffed, “I don’t know if I’m even right. I just. Ugh.” he sighed and ruffled his hair, “it’s hard.”
She pat his head with a sigh, “Yea, but ya got ya network here. And if anything I’m sure meat fer brains can help you. Ya can’t be any weirder than her ya know?”
“I take offense to that but you’re right.” Eclipse barked.
Craft snickered as he went to wash his hair, “thanks guys. Really.”
“Crrafftttt!” Eclipse called as he stepped in the door. He turned confused.
“Love you!” she stuck her tongue out with a big grin.
“Love you too meat for brains!” he laughed as she gasped.
“Don’t you call me that too!” she whined and covered her face ashamed. He laughed loudly.
Bertie snickered, “Well. Maybe you’ll learn your lesson about running head first into things.”
“Maaaybbeee. I dunno.” Eclipse barked and rolled to her back. She frowned, “Bertie will you do my hair for the festival?”
“Of course! You going to keep it long? Who’s your partner this year? Keith right?” Her sister chuckled and pulled gloves on.
“Yes! I’m so excited!” Eclipse wagged her tail happily, “I-I may even tell him the truth. About me.” she spoke softly, “He’s so nice and says such sweet things. He called me his dancing fairy the other day.”
“Well. I’m glad it’s workin out for you. Look at my little sister, falling in love. How long have you been together now?”
“About 6 months!” Eclipse rolled to her stomach as her tail wagged, “He smells so good and he’s a great dancer. He’s like a prince charming.” her tail swished, “Bertie… am I---”
“You can be the princess. 100%. Clearly! You two are so happy!” Bertie grinned.
Eclipse beamed happily as her tail thudded the building, “And Craft made me a really pretty dress too!! It’s sparkly and blue and it moves well!”
“That’s the kinda chiffon I used.” Craft spoke proudly as he held the towel around his shoulders, “I think I did a great job myself! It’d be better if you wore your hair silver with it but!”
“I love it!! I can’t wait to show it off!” She beamed happily, “then everyone can see how skilled you are!”
“I’m still an apprentice. But Ms. Green says I’m getting better. She loved my hand sewing on this order last week!” He sat on the ground as Bertie started his hair.
“I’m glad that’s working out. The Greens are a lovely couple.” Bertie hummed. She began to apply the bleach, “tell me if it burrrrrrns or somethin.”
“Will do!” Craft snickered and beamed, “It is working great! I’m learning a lot about the industry and it’s really fun! Plus I get to get some cash to save for my own place!”
“I’m so glad it’s working out!” Eclipse stuck her tongue out, “A dress maker and a treasure hunter.” she grinned.
“What a duo we are~!” He laughed, “Though did you consider it? That thing Mr. Kwalski suggested?”
“The dog training?” Eclipse huffed, shrugging. “I mean I did. But I don’t exactly get along with dogs.”
“That’s the point though!” Craft pointed out, “you can always try, see where it goes.”
“I suppose. But I LIKE treasure hunting.” she huffed.
“It ain’t a good career. Ya need a side gig.” Bertie pointed out, “Ya pa helped with the diving school.”
Eclipse laid her head down with a sigh. She looked at the ocean.
“I know.” she sighed, “L-Look I’m only 16 I’m allowed to have some time to think right?!” she pouted and howled, “For now! I like going hunting with Pappy! It’s fun! It’s exciting! I get to see such cool things!!!”
“I wish i was sturdier; I’d love going on one of your hunts.” Craft winced, “Bertie you’re pulling!”
“Oops. Sorry bout that.” she apologized and loosened her grip, “and ya don’t. They just make stupid jokes and over worry. She spends half her hunts naked.”
“I’m shifting from human to wolf and back again! Who needs clothing I’m going to damage!” she huffed, “if anyone sees me they think I’m a ghost anyway with how the wisps cling!”
“Ya. but still. Modesty. Ya jus a kid.”
“You’re only like. 8 years older.” Eclipse huffed.
“I’m 24, Eclipse. I’m an adult. With a fiance. And a career.” Bertie stated with a flat stare, “Ya a kid.”
Eclipse huffed and crossed her paws as she pouted. She jolted when Craft grabbed her side and her tail began to wag.
“I’ll work on it! Something to change with you!” He grinned, “Someday! I’ll figure something out for you!”
“I’ll hold you to it!” She cackled.

Professor Sugar - 1/7
Pairing: Student!Reader x Professor!Bucky Description: Like tons of other students you struggle with finances, but you can’t get any aid since your parents are filthy rich. The system doesn’t care that they broke off contact after you came out as bisexual. There is, however, someone else that cares. The prof of your class on PTSD and trauma. Professor Barnes. Warnings: Financial Instability, not beta read. Written for the challenges of: @star-spangled-man-with-a-plan & @fanfictionaries
Professor Sugar Masterlist // Masterlist
New Semesters iPad & Pen: Charged Backup Notebook & Pen: Packed iPad keyboard: Packed Phone: Charged Waterbottle and emergency bag: Packed The first day of the second semester. The first day of the semester that you packed so full of credits that you were sure you would be going insane by the end of it. Why did you study an area of psychology again? You had put out a nice outfit, cleaned your glasses and showed up early for the first class in the course about trauma. A part of psychology you hadn’t been that good at in the first semester. Second row, iPad set up and water bottle out. Internally you were hoping to always be this prepared for class. It took about ten minutes for the other students to fill the lecture until the professor came in with a simple “Hi!”. Holy mother of Jesus! Authority figures shouldn’t be looking this good, especially in the courses you were bad in. He had brown hair, beautiful blue eyes, a strong build and the voice of a god. As the lecture started and he went into his background you realized how much softer his demeanor was compared to other profs and how knowledgable he was beyond just this topic. He mentioned being a soldier, working at the VA for a while, why he wanted to teach.
You took all your braveness and went to his table after the lecture. “Mr. Barnes?” You asked in a reluctant voice and made him look up. “Yes, Miss (Y/L/N)?” He gave you a soft smile. God, he was cute. Help. "Um, I almost failed a course similar to this last semester and wanted to ask for more resources to study,” you asked and held onto the iPad in front of your chest. "I'll send a list out to everyone tonight. If you need further help, my office is in building B2 and my hours should be updated on the website soon." "Alright, thank you." *Wow, you did that without being nervous!* The rest of the day was spent with organizing the coming week with the new class schedule, study time and the little job you worked at the little supermarket below your apartment. You had Mr. Barnes’ course twice a week. That meant it gave you more credits and you were not allowed to fail it unless you wanted to pay the system until you die and beyond. The other courses didn’t sound too hard to study for, just a lot compared to what you had the previous semester when you still had the time for two student jobs. Goals for the semester: -Get A’s and B’s -Don’t fail Mr. Barnes’ class -Either make more money or save more -Don’t kill my annoying but lovely roommate -Maybe have something resembling a balance (if I can’t have a social life) -Eating stuff other than instant noodles would be nice -Workout twice a week for my sanity -Make one acquaintance per course -Download the damn lecture, dumbass -Write myself study guides for hard topics -Keep my iPad notes organized -Start using a to-do app -Did I mention not killing my roommate? “I’m home, bitch!” echoed through the apartment. “How was your day, broski?” “Ugh, my boss doesn’t get better with time. I can tell you that?” She exhaled exhausted, “Samantha, I would really like it if you could do overtime.” She imitated him. “Your boss can fuck off,” you grumbled as you threw her the bag of chips and jumped onto the couch. “Grey’s?” “Grey’s.”
______________ *pling* +Study Resources for our class+ You opened the email, being hit with a wall of resources for the course. „Might as well start now,“ you mumbled, getting out your iPad and keyboard. You spent the entire afternoon that Saturday writing an outline for the course to study it. Two and a half pages filled with just categories and their respective topics. You would need to ask him if this was the best way to study it or if you would need all of it. You had experienced these kind of resources sometimes being way more than what was needed in the end. „Never seen you so determined.“ Samantha stood in your door with her third coffee of the day. „You know I almost failed a similar class last semester. The rest isn‘t that much of a problem. Plus the prof is cute, so I don‘t wanna look dumb,“ you croaked a bit tired. „Don‘t get your hopes up.“ She grinned. „What? No. God no!“ You frowned and shook your head at her. She didn‘t believe you one second. Of course she wouldn‘t, she‘s always on a mission to make stuff more inappropriate than they are. Monday rolled around and you in this class of his he finally starts teaching the topic. You could tell that he loved what he taught, always stopping for questions and going on little tangents here and there. Not only was he great at his job, he also was one of the teachers uploading their slides to the uni network. He couldn‘t make it easier for you to study this and ace it. You feel like you‘ve never tipped so many things in just one lesson, needing five minutes after the class to create a document hierarchy that made sense for you to study later. His office hours were starting 30 minutes after class, so you packed your stuff, grabbed a cheap study snack on the way and knocked on the door to his little office a few minutes later. „Come in!“ a muffled deep voice came through the door. „Hey.“ „Hello, Ms. (Y/L/N). What can I help you with?“ He smiled up at you from his papers in front of him. „Well, you sent the resources and I decided to make an outline for how I want to study it, but I‘d love your advice if I‘m missing something. I really don‘t wanna fail this course. Last semester I was close,“ you rambled a little. „Nothing wrong with failing one of your classes. Let me see.“ He held out his big hand and you handed over the three pages. „Not when your finances depend on finishing in 3 instead of 4-5 years,“ you mumbled and a silence fell across the room while he read through the outline you wrote. „This is a good outline! Could you send it to me for future students?“ He asked while handing it back to you. „Of course.“ You nodded eagerly. „Anything in particular that you struggled with in the last semester?“ He asked interlocking his fingers. „Well, I didn‘t have much time to study with two jobs. I‘m down to one right now until summer.“ You explained to him. „Take enough breaks, Ms (Y/L/N)!“ „I‘m trying. Not going super well.“ A pathetic chuckle left you. „Did you check with the-„ „Yes, I‘m not able to get aid cause my parents that I haven‘t talked to in 3 years are rich and have a bank account with my name on it that I can‘t access. The system doesn‘t understand that, so here I am.“ You sent him a weak smile. „I give you the homework of taking an hour long break in the student café after my classes. Two times a week. Doable?“ He held out his hand again, he had nice hands, they looked soft. „Yeah.“ You reached out to shake his hand, being a little overwhelmed by how strong he could grab.
