Why not make a sprite comic for your Deltarune x Undertale Crossover?
I'm gonna make more edits and mini sprite comics, but I'd prefer to develop it into a game over any other form of media.
Undertale and Deltarune have lots of different paths and dialogue depending on what options you choose, so i want any serious projects about this to be as interactive as possible!

i just made a game. and submitted it to a game jam
if u want to play it, it's probably like, idk, 5 mins to play.
it's called conversations with your mom
anyway!
dont ask me why its blurry. i simply do not know and i simply do not have the energy to figure it out. all i know is that it wasn't blurry in GameMaker and so i'm not sure.

hullo mr. tyler mon!!!
i’ve been idly wondering about this for a long while now, pretty much since FNFFD got canned…
At the rate you’re going making ZoomQuest, when do you reckon some sort of alpha/beta/QA build of the game will come out? (if it’s indeterminate, that’s also fine, take as much as you’d like with the game! i’m just really excited to play it with all the teasers you’ve shown :3)
Tumblr media
Well ZoomQuest doesn't even have a project file yet. So I say its probably got a bit.
I know that's a confusing answer because of how often I post screenshots of what looks like game play. And it is game play, but it's a little complicated.
Tumblr media
They're all screenshots from the prototype of ZoomQuest that I made to test out if the ideas I was having for it could work as a video game. It's just over an hour long and doesn't even have an original soundtrack!... (Besides 6 songs Funne graciously made unprompted)
To make a long story short... It does!!! Everyone who I sent the prototype to said it was a great time and had no notes. Even a guy who hates singleplayer campaigns said he wanted to play more. (He also thought Nermal was a dude, several people thought that.)
Since then, I have been focusing on fine-tuning the games story. I want to have that 100% sorted out before I even make a project file for it. For ages I've known the general gist of what happens, but now I want to write an actual cleaned up script for it, from beginning to end. There are some major things I still have to work out regarding the plot. But after that I'll be ready to start actually making the damn thing.
I think my biggest mistake with the project was showing stuff off for it before I had any intention on starting it. Sorry about that. And thanks for the question.
I'll try to keep the people who are here early entertained in the meantime.

Whoops! I forgot to post on Saturday! Just got real busy with family and other stuff, but that doesn't mean I didn't get some good video game progress made!
This week I made more NPCs for the Yokai Village!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Very green themed huh? I didn't actually notice that until I had them all grouped in this post. Well, it is a forest after all! I'll hold off on dropping the lore on each of these yokai until I have a few more sprites finished for them. One of them is the leader of the Yokai Village though! I'll let you guess which one that is.
I also spent quite a bit of time on stage design this week and almost have every stage in the Yokai Forest complete! That means I'm going to have to release a demo pretty soon.
I'm refining and adding to the tileset I'm using to build my stages too. While I don't think it looks 'bad', it could definitely look better and be less 'blocky' at times (especially the trees), but idk what do you think? I'm always happy to hear feedback on my sprite art and stuff.
That's all for this delayed post. Enjoy the week!

so much has been done im not fully sure where to start. animations exist now using squash and stretch, the jump and double jump have slightly different values, same with the sound for the jumps making sure one is higher pitch than the other.
the camera is fixed now so that its a smoother follow, aswell it now has a system that zooms out and centers so i can show full areas for jumping puzzles instead of having one set camera making it more dynamic.
i have a checkpoint and death system now, the checkpoints work in that you cant go to a past checkpoint and only to the most recent.

A brand new environment! It's the Apprentice's home~ They live in a little abandoned traincar out in the woods near Fisk Bay. It's a bit of a trek in to the bay, but they do it every day!
And I managed to make a prototype of the minigame that I'm pretty proud of! I wanted something along the lines of the skillchecks in Dredge, so I learned to use paths in GMS2 and it worked great! It's really basic like just hitting the spacebar in the right zones, but I'm quite pleased that my understanding of GMS has improved.
It's fun to work on this game now and then. I think I need to start really sketching out the story and gameplay... It's mostly been just drawing environments and stuff. I'm not a gamer and I tend towards more story-driven games, but taking a game design class has really opened my eyes to how much care goes into developing gameplay aspects. I wonder what I can do to make this game interesting in both story and gameplay.
