CH O2. Looking for traces left, in all places. alive and well, (not exactly but you don't know that.) jason is fine, from what you've gathered about. you just need to find him! which.. takes a while.

CH 03. Twenty-three to Forty-five. decisions are made by a coin while you come to terms with the fact that there's a new 'vigilante' (though most don't really consider them one) in Gotham.

CH 04. Countless minutes that pass by. you've counted more than 1,000.. to the point it doesn't matter. both hopeless and pathetic to the point you question yourself once again, is he worth it?

CH 05. It's clear to me, you're imaginary. while losing track of how many days it's been, it seems you've also forgotten what differentiates a hallucination or an actual being. which one is he?

CH 06. Looks like you still care, I do too. jason todd's perspective of you, failing to find him despite the very fact he stays right near your line of sight. his eyes seem to always be on you.

The Data Base, A Preemptive Q&A:

What Is This?

This is a side blog for my Batman Au entitled Sins Of The Father as the name and tagline might suggest. For right now it is a way to motivate myself through sharing snippets and lore as well post links to the updates when they come.

What Is The Au About?

Sins Of The Father will hopefully be a Jason Todd and Damian Wayne-centric long fic. This fic is my personal take on the Jason Todd and Damian Wayne meet in the League tag on Ao3. Although it borrows some tropes and dynamics I wanted to hone in on the idea of what would happen if Jason was the one the bring him to Gotham instead of Talia. Not only looking into how this would effect the Under The Red Hood plotline but also their relationship with Bruce as the name might give away.

Note: I will post a more informative and concise blurb soon I just wanted to to lay the bare frame work out.

Why Was This Au Made?

This Au was born out of my frustration at Jasons revival and Damians introduction not only being so close to together but the fact both of their shared backstory threads never being interconnected. It’s almost always glossed over except for an extra ending in Death In The Family & Young Justice very briefly. Correct me if I am wrong and there's more I don't know about.

Regardless I feel that is missing out on such a good story opportunity but I digress. Hence this whole Au things may have gotten out of hand a touch.

( Also yes I know the title of the Au comes from A Batman & Robin Adventures episode I named it before I remembered where it had been last used.)

What Continuity Is This In?

I am sad to disappoint the animated Batfans as well as those who enjoy the comics but this is taking place in my own version of the universe. Somethings will be taken from those versions of the plot or character but I wanted the freedom to both write the plot I wanted and reinterpret characters if needed.

Now please do be warned this could be a bit ooc at times but comic cannons is like a slinkie falling down stairs into play doh anything can happen and I want to build something. So sit back and relax as this isn't a official comic but Ao3 & Tumblr where cannon goes to die. Lets have fun!

What Will This Be Posted On & What Is The Rating?

Sins Of The Father will be posted on Ao3 and I will share the link when updates are posted. For now there is none yet as I am still writing the first few chapters. I do plan to update once I am done writing them so they might be a bit spotty.

As for the rating I am planning on Teen. it does have some cannon compliant violence, dark themes/ moments and possible exploration of generational trauma.

Is This A Batcest Thing?

No, there is no shipping between any of the brothers with the only ships that play out being things like Barba X Dick and the like. I really wanted to focus on the family bonds such as Jason being a semi but not really Father figure to Damian.

Will The Outlaws Or Extended Batfamily Show Up?

Sadly this is a second no as I don't know enough about them nor really have any plot points for them as of now. The cast consists of The Al ghuls/ a handfull of The League related characters plus the core Gotham or Batfam characters. ( I.e Alfred Jim, Bruce, Babs, Dick, Jason, Tim & Damian) as well as a few rouges.

he's Russian-Korean, or Monovilian (his region is Monovil, no it doesn't actually exist. more on that later)

he's going to be an electric specialist

Grey probably doesnt seem like it but he has zero care for consequences because it straight up never mattered what he did or said before (more on that later). hence, he might be a bit rude or blunt but that'll probably change with time lmao

Grey is technically a faller, i guess? it's kinda hard to explain lol. (and assuming i got the definition right)

Shinto is a psychic-electric type that technically isn't even a Pokemon (more on that later). after the confrontation with Grey, they ended up living due to a certain person's intervention (ALSO more on that later) and ended up sticking with Grey.

Scarlett is abrasive but clever. She’s like a chihuahua. Her clothes are just whatever she can get her hands on. Most of them are oversized because it’s hard to find kid’s clothes. She’s almost 7 years old but is fairly advanced for her age, at least mentally 8 or 9. Her hair is cut messy and short for ease.

Backstory:

Scarlett was abandoned when she was a baby (oh how very original). She was raised by a lovely couple until recently when they were killed in some senseless act. She doesn’t know who did it or why, but she wants to find out. She lives on the streets of Gotham, wandering around Crime Alley, usually. She has since been adopted by @/bugboi-of-gotham and @/gothamghostwhispers

UPDATE: SHE LIVED IN A WEIRD APARTMENT COMPLEX BEFORE WHERE SHE SAW A LOT OF DRAMA FROM HER NEIGHBORS. SHE THINKS THATS JUST HOW PEOPLE ARE (ie leaving after fights, leaving when someone dies, baking for other people, etc etc)

Hi! My name is Piper Santos. I’m kind of part of the Winged Demons detective agency? Think like Criminal Minds meets Sherlock Holmes. I mostly do their office work, but I’ve done field work. I’ve been kidnapped a few times, so be kind. I have PTSD and ASD and anxiety. I live with my work partner, Jessie, though some of the other members of the agency have their own rooms. ABOUT !! -

Scape was originally inspired by the page in the Book of Bill with all the alternate versions of Dipper and Mabel that died. I saw ghost Dipper and I was like him trapped in the mindscape, slowly losing his shit out of desperation?? Oh fuck yes, that’d make a kickass au. And here we are, multiple yaps later.

Alternate version of Dipper that's still stuck in the Mindscape-

He goes by Scape! They also use He/They. Prefers they/them more, but still uses he/him occasionally(typically when talking/thinking about themselves in the past tense).

Scape is a Dipper who lost to Bill during the events of Sock Opera. I won’t go into too much detail, because then there isn’t really any fun in talking to them- BUT I would be happy to elaborate if you need me to!

So far, they’ve been in the mindscape for around 4 years(This makes them mentally 16, but visibly and emotionally 12), and they’ve learned a lot of things- Mainly how do all kinds of magic, and how to access the greater Mindscape and use it as a gateway to enter other dimensions’ Mindscapes. During their years in this place, they’ve gotten increasingly more careless on what methods they use to find a way out- Crossing lines they promised they wouldn’t cross, only to set new ones and cross those, too.

Once, in the beginning, he had played guide, putting on a cheerful persona and helping the Dippers he came across via the Mindscape, even sometimes lending his power, like a patron of sorts. To make things easier (since it’s awkward to say your own name), he called those Dippers he helped “Stardust” and requested they refer to him as “Scape” in return. … Kind of like codenames! At first. Over time, the persona he’d crafted started to become a part of him- Not just an act. They’re sooooo mentally well I promise A few identity crises later, and boom!!! Guess what. They’re nonbinary, actually!!! Diversity win!! Whooo!! Anyways, back to suffering~!

Scape began to grow angry and bitter as they watched each Dipp Stardust they helped survive leave Gravity Falls for the summer and continue on with life- Something he never got. Something he’ll never have.

He really didn’t mean to, not at first.

It was just small things. They made comments that more vaguely insulted and mocked Stardust than helped him. For a while, it was just another part of their little persona- Slightly annoying, but still a good idea to keep them around. The worst part is, it made them feel better. It was.. Refreshing! Something different~!

Does it matter if it hurts them, if it makes him feel better? They haven’t felt like this in so long. Happiness.. Is a fickle thing.

Can you blame them, for chasing it?

Anyways, long story short, Scape keeps failing to find a way out of the Mindscape, they end up taking it out on the Dippers they “help”- Before abandoning the pretense of “help” entirely, and start manipulating Stardust for their own gain. Though, sometimes they come across a Dipper about to suffer the same fate they did, and they find themselves helping anyway.

Scape has done a lot of horrible things, but they’re in denial about almost all of them, and repress the worst of what they’ve done. As of the timeline of this blog, they’re on the cusp of unlocking those repressed memories– All at once. All it takes is a few more rejections, a few more failed attempts… And they won’t have enough room to repress it all anymore. LUCKILY FOR THEM, THIS IS A TUMBLR RP!!! It’s up to YOU whether they fucking lose it entirely OR if they get better!!! Aiming for the second one because I kind of made a future Scape blog where they’re very much evil and acknowledge it. So. Kind of would be boring if both of them were evil so!!!! GET THIS CHILD SOME THERAPY!!!!!
