I spent way too long trying to find someone to duel that wouldn't automatically destroy me when trying to bring out Hardened Armed Dragon to tribute for Ra Sphere Mode

I finally find someone I can combo it off with, and then 29 turns later they surrendered.

I can finally go to bed.

They were playing a coin flip deck.

They didn't have any of the things one needs to out an untarget-able, un-attackable, indestructible monster

It was fun.

As a Birthday Treat to myself I bought an old sealed box of Spider-Man 3 cards from 2007. It was pretty expensive and I felt a little silly but…whatever, it’s a treat!

Even though you get 2 autographed cards per box, the vast majority are for super minor characters. Like characters that don’t even have actual names outside of “violinist” and “garbage man”… but whatever. I love the trilogy so even if I didn’t get anything “good” it would still be a little gambling game where I at least have a bunch of dorky cards to show for it!

Ideally I’d want Willem’s card because. He’s him. BUT if it didn’t happen that would be fine. I have other autographs of his and it would be cheaper to buy his card outright anyway lol. I wouldn’t really “make” money on buying this box unless I pulled some crazy high rarity like Tobey Maguire which sells for like $2k now and was no way happening lmao. It’s not really about the value, it’s about the fun and the mystery about what I would get! :D

Sure enough the first autograph I pulled was the Subway Guitarist. Fun! Expected. I enjoy his little diddy in the first movie. We SHOULD all just give Spider-Man one big hug, he was so right.

Surprised to pull one of the autographs on only the 2nd pack in the 40 pack box. Stopped pulling from the top and picked a random pack out of the middle and saw the edge of another autograph card. I didn’t want to look because this was only pack #5/40, and it would kind of suck getting my two autographs so quickly and know nothing better was waiting in the box. 😔

Happy birthday to me indeed!! I feel so ridiculously lucky, like it makes me nervous sdjfk 😭 but this is so awesome, he has been FREED after almost 17 years in storage!!!

Bruce and Damian are relieved. He's getting older, and Gotham still needs protectors right now, but the city is getting better. Slowly and steadily, he hasn't needed to patrol every single night anymore. Gothamites are learning to defend themselves. Rogues are dwindling. Not only are you not particularly needed to defend the city, Bruce wants you to enjoy your life without the burden of that responsibility weighing down your shoulders. Maybe, one day, he'll be able to retire and do the same.

Bruce was going to stop recruiting Robins after Tim, truth be told, but Damian was raised with the League of Assassins and needed a more pacifistic outlet for all that rage that blossomed under Ra's Al Ghul, so he almost had no choice but to pass the mantle down again. Your disinterest doesn't offend him, it brings him peace.

Tim, briefly, considers it a waste of potential. You have the ability to control darkness and shadows. The bats operate exclusively in the night. Are you joking? Why wouldn't you want to protect the city with that? A couple weeks later, though, he comes around when he gets home from a days-long mission and wishes he had the time to just lie in bed and decompress for the foreseeable future. He thinks about his lack of free time, and about how he's always thinking about casework, and updating his suit, and picking up his next round of antibiotics because Damian's grandfather took his fucking spleen, and realizes he really doesn't want you doing all of that. It's bad enough you're keeping the secret of your family's double lives as they run around in spandex beating up criminals. You don't need to live a complicated double life of your own, and he doesn't want you to.

Dick is confused. He loves being Nightwing! He defends the citizens of Gotham and Blüdhaven when they can't defend themselves. Saving lives gives him a great sense of fulfillment. (It's the Parentification making him think he's only lovable if he's useful, actually, but 🤫) Dick will try to convince you to give the vigilantism a shot, just in a small supporting role for a bank heist or something, but if you put your foot down and insist you aren't interested in crime fighting, he kinda becomes a fish out of water. You don't want your big bro to be your superhero mentor? You're just his baby sibling and that's it? What are you guys supposed to find in common, now? How does he remain lovable to you if you aren't partners in the field?

He'll come around, but you gotta give him some time. Having a civilian sibling is going to do him a surprising amount of good.

Jason was rooting on you not becoming a Robin. He was prepared to do anything and everything to talk you out of it, including kidnapping you and taking you to his apartment in Crime Alley if need be so your other family members can't influence your decision. He doesn't want you to collect scars like trading cards. He doesn't want you learning how to apply a field tourniquet to avoid bleeding out from a gunshot wound. He doesn't want you getting a deeper glimpse of Gotham's rotted underbelly than you absolutely have to. He doesn't want you to die saving a city that takes and takes and takes and very rarely gives back. You are worth more than what you can do for others, and he was gearing up to talk that lesson into you until he was blue in the face.

So I'd like you to picture him just sagging in his seat, thanking a god he doesn't believe in that you're already unwilling to join their seemingly neverending crusade. Then he's gonna sit back up and ask if you wanna go play video games or something.

Yeah, as accomplished and impressive as the mc is, the mc is far from a Mary Sue/Gary Stu. Literally, the scene with V where they try to cook? I cringed when I heard their plans for it (but trying new things is crucial to being good at them). Not to mention other scenes just showing the unbalanced lifestyle (I found Elias asking if the mc had their credit cards to be particularly hilarious) and things they lack. It's not like the mc reaches and touches an extracurricular, and whoops, Bam, Magnus Carlson!

They've also suffered not insignificantly (I can't possibly imagine losing a parent at that young of an age, let alone one you're close to.) And that nosebleed thing must've been a hell of a scare. Also - your reflection looking like that (as in non human or supernatural) would be terrifying. My life isn't notably bad, certainly not all sunshine and rainbows, but if I was offered to become mc and go through all that they will or even all that they have?

Yeah, I think I'll pass. I also think some of it might be people thinking the mc is completely effortless - which I have no idea where they got that - but it's evident while they aren't average in intelligence, they busted their ass off even if they try to play it laidback style. They got the best tutors in the world from a very young age - but that also meant they were using those resources constantly and studying. Not to mention, I think somewhere it's mentioned how mc's time was basically entirely split between studying, extracurriculars, and volunteering.

They're not a god. Just a mortal who had very fortunate resources who worked very, very hard with those resources. Hell, take a normal person with mid resources and have them use that schedule of studying, extracurriculars, and volunteering, and I'd bet they would turn out pretty damn accomplished/impressive too, even if they're not as good as the mc. It's what Richard Feymann said - you can get a normal person to understand quantum physics. They just have to study it well, hard, and for a while.

Yeah, the mc is rich and have quite the privilege, but that doesn't mean they didn't work hard for it and also lost some things in the trade off (mc might know how to cook if they weren't studying "all" the time and took the time to learn, for example)

Mc kind of reminds me of what's referred to as a glass cannon - exceptionally good at one or a few things, but at the severe (and probably unworthy) detriment of being very bad at others. Does mc even know what FAFSA is?

Also, the literal fatal flaw? An actual list? And mc can be as stupid (wisdom stat, not intelligence) and just party all the time.

If anons were going to pick on a character for being "too perfect" then M almost makes more sense. 10 languages, God knows how many instruments, in a good position in HoS, is probably crushing all of their classes, and is majoring in philosophy which can get wildly difficult now and again before toning back down (Nietzche, Kant, and Hegel, probably). Oh, they're also an RA. They to me seem more insane than mc does, even a mc who is designed to be crazy like vocal lessons, two sports, robotics, and debate club, with no burnout. And yet, they are perfectly flawed.

The mc just worked exceptionally hard, is clever, and had literally the best possible resources to get the most bang for their (or rather, Elias's) buck. I think about anyone would - at least - do very well in academia and extracirriculars if they had the best tutors in the world training them in those respective areas from a very young age.

I kinda love how it seems like the more we see of the season 2 pt2 trading cards, the more it seems like the ninja have reached/are scarily close to an honest to god breaking point that we've yet to see and that will result in most if not all of them lashing out violently in some way (probably during the tournament). And what's even better is that I genuinely believe it.

Like Arin has his whole crisis of faith, Wyldfyre just watched a new family member 'die' again and can only do so much to help Egalt, Sora is not at all equipped to deal with her friends' feelings and thinks lying to them will help in the long run, Lloyd is trying to be a good mentor and thinks he's failing, Nya keeps losing the people she loves and I think some shit happened before she got found after the Merge tbh, Cole's new family got broken up and they think Bonzel is fully gone, Zane is being hunted and hasn't found Pixal, Kai got tossed into superhell, and even tho we don't know Jay's full deal yet, we know something goes wrong enough for him to fully ditch the Administration for Ras after YEARS of working for them.

So yea, despite years of conflict, I fully buy that this is a new low even for this team, even excluding the kids which is just good writing and I love it. Like I could fully see at least one of the ninja playing dirty during their fights because they have just been stretched Far too thin emotionally and probably physically.

A wish fulfillment is on its way. You guys could be manifesting something or reciting affirmations in the mirror. In the song, Stunna Girl keeps saying "I'm a stunner girl" repeatedly, stunner means to be "a strikingly beautiful or impressive person or thing". Stunna Girl has also went viral and become more popular after appearing on the show "Baddies West". You could be growing into your confidence soon and learning to love yourself unconditionally and unapologetically. You could even become more popular or go viral on social media. For some of you, you are healing generational trauma for your female ancestors. They are so proud of you! Or you could come from a family with a lot of powerful, strong, independent women. In a patriarchal society, a woman who is outspoken, knows her worth, and is self assured, is looked down upon because they are less easy to humble and manipulate. Some of you also could have an anxious attachment or have a fear of abandonment due to a absent father. You need to do shadow work or talk with a therapist to heal that. I feel like you were treated harshly growing up or you were left with the "vultures". You could have been neglected growing up and had to learn to survive. You could of used maldaptive daydreaming to cope. Your fantasies gave you comfort in a time of stress and turmoil. I'm so sorry for that, pile 6, but you have to understand you no one is out to get to you. You can choose a new story for yourself. You dont have to be a victim anymore. You are free to start a new life for yourself. Some of you came from abusive households or were put in the system at a young age (either you were adopted or was in foster care). You could have lived in multiple places or went from house to house as a child. Did you run away as a kid? Why were you running, sweetheart? You can stop running now, take a new route. Just peacefully go towards your new journey. There is no need to rush. There is going to be growth and prosperity in your life. You need to take time to nurture yourself and practice some self care. Be kind to yourself and be patient. I know it can seem nerve wracking at first but overtime you will be grateful you did it. Pile 8, why are you ripping yourself apart to fit into society's pressures and demands? When will you realize that you are beautiful in your own way? I remember when Kendrick Lamar said: "If a flower bloomed in a dark room would you trust it?". Not every flower grows in the sunlight or the spring or the summer. Some grow during the harsh, cold weather of the winters or when everything falls in autumn. You are in competition with no one but yourself and you are not going to win this game if you treat yourself like shit. If you wanna be a winner, then you need to start acting like one vs acting like a sore loser. When things go wrong, you are so unnecessarily rude and hard on yourself. Why is that? Ask yourself these things next time you catch yourself thinking that way. You're not anything of the mean things you say about yourself or what people have said to you. You struggle with your insecurities and cling to what gives you comfort even though you know you want better than this, you want better than what you are currently doing. Why do you stick to the same routine everyday even though you know you want change? Sometimes you have to be uncomfortable so you can be comfortable. You may compare your beauty to other people but you need to realize no one is perfect. You are human, as the song goes. A human with "flaws, veins, scars". Embrace your imperfections. You don't want to look back at your past and regret you never took action on anything because you weren't "pretty" enough. Look past your appearance and look inside. EXPLORE THE SCENERY

Ocha has some neat little spots to explore, let's see a few of the most noteworthy locations to stop by on your visit!

The bridge is the only way to get across the river to the other side of the island. The view of the ocean is breathtaking and if you get hungry you can buy yourself a snack from the vendor that's set up shop on it. It's been said that if you head here in the middle of summer and see shooting stars with someone at midnight, you're meant to be together forever!

The playground is where all the cool kids hang out during the night (and during the day, of course). Built between the old hospital, the shrine, and the festival grounds, it's a perfect spot to spend a warm summer day! Someone even said they found a super rare trading card under the slide once!

The shrine is the absolute highest point on the entire island. A serene atmosphere surrounds the grounds and instills a sense of safety and an unrivaled calm. It's worth it to take a trip up the steps every day, even if it's just to feel young and healthy!

The graveyard is somewhere off in the northeast, right outside the oldest building on the island: the old abandoned mansion. The grounds that surround the mansion, including the graveyard, carry a dreadful sense of unease and who knows what else? It's not recommended to head beyond the signs that rest a little beyond the campground, but that doesn't stop unlucky visitors from testing their courage...

☆ 22 | She/Her | Lucky Dreamer ☆

Airy is a super lucky young woman who happened to win the lottery! Having decided it would be a good time for a fresh start, she purchased a big house on an old island and moved out there with her younger cousin. Enjoying the peaceful air, she makes the trip across the island to climb the stairs of the shrine every day!

☆ 18 | She/Her | Internet Enthusiast ☆

Fizz is a bit of an odd ball who made the move from the city out to the island with her older cousin! She's not very good at managing her money, she's a little sloppy, and she spends a lot of time online or playing games. Having a somewhat weak immune system, the girl also seems to always have a cold, but she's doing just fine!

☆ 20 | She/Her | Rain-Soaked Figure ☆

Hasumi was a worker at the old hospital on the island, where it's been said a tragedy occurred some years ago. Not much is really known about her, but if you're brave enough (or some would say foolish enough) to enter the building, you might catch a glimpse of her figure wandering about! Be careful not to listen to what she says, or you might end up like all the others...

Hanako is said to have lived on the island long, long ago, back when things were a little... different. The abandoned mansion on the other side of the island is home to rather bizarre and unnerving secrets. If you head out that way, you should be careful, because you never know what lurks around the corner...

Setting: Back at Yugi's place. Atem is trying to use a microwave for the first time.

Atem: (Points at the microwave) Explain to me, Yugi. How does this… metal box… harness the very fire of Ra, but without any flames? Yugi: (Chuckles) It uses microwaves, Atem. It’s not magic. Atem: But… it rotates the food! Surely that is an ancient incantation of some kind! Tell me the ritual! Yugi: It’s… it’s just a motor. Look, do you want your popcorn or not? Atem: (Eyes the microwave suspiciously) Very well. But I’m watching it.

Context: They're trying to blend into a crowd, but Atem isn't cooperating.

i'm constructing a reality where fangs is dating gay kevin when he is in the infamous bus crash but instead of dying he goes into a coma. and gay kevin is loyally by his bedside until he snaps like three months in and hooks up with moose. the night he does that, fangs wakes up from said coma.
