LU BACKROOMS???

This is basically me describing backrooms based on the Chain, one on the safer side and one deadly and how to survive them :]

Time

His first liminal space is fairly safe. You can’t die unless you do something diabolical.

His safe room like would be basically like this

You fall down somewhere, probably on your walk home, but you pick yourself up and see that this is very much not the side of the road. This is a grassy field.

There weren’t many grassy fields where you lived. And even those fields were no where near as expansive as this one.

Upon looking around, you see a giant wall and a drawbridge. You start walking to it, thinking that you somehow fell hard enough to pass out.

You reach Castle Town and get weird glances from many. While you’re scouting the area, you spot a little boy in green picking up random dogs. You look at him weird when he puts one dog down and chases after another one.

The boy catches you staring and with one glance, you’re suddenly in that big grassy field again

So yeah, if bro looks at you, you get set back. After a while, this space will easily drive someone insane. This is because no matter what you do, you will meet him, and you both will meet eyes, and you’ll be sent back to the beginning.

So in a way, Survival Rate: 98% but it’s gradual and you might get out of there before you go insane

For his “You’re most likely gonna die” room

I wanted to incorporate Majora’s Mask into it, saying that the masks are hunting you.

There goal is to capture you and bring you to Fierce Deity. He thinks that you killed Link.

But you didn’t because this little kid who told you that he was who the deity was looking for is literally following behind you-

This kid could be regular young Link or Ben Drowned, though it would change the survival rate massively

Survival Rate for young Link: 67%

Survival Rate for Ben Drowned: 15%

This is because the only way to stop being hunted and/or not die is to present a piece of Link to the deity when you’re eventually caught

If it’s Link, he’ll accept it and call the masks off and you’ll be free to move on to the next hell or, if god loves you, you’ll go home

If it’s Ben, you better be fast on your toes because you’ll be hunted until you die or get out of there.

I want to also want to add that the masks don’t just pop up out of no where when they find you.

You know how you have to follow the music in order to learn Saria’s Song? Don’t do that. You’ll be caught

When they emit the Song of Healing, run, Link/Ben will be right on your trail and even if he wasn’t when you stopped running, he’ll always find you even if he leads a mask to you

I forgot to mention that Link/Ben will give you hints as to how you need to give Fierce a piece of his tunic or hair or something close to it

Also that Link/Ben physically can not get close to FD as they are, as the boy says, “part of the same soul”

Twilight

That whole game has this unsettlingly warm ethereal quality where it's like- you're comfortable but uncomfortable at the same time and it's so weird

But basically I would say somewhere like a large field that's in perpetual twilight. You've never seen it before but it feels safe and familiar, like you've been there a thousand times. Still, there's something just slightly off, and it prevents you from ever being able to truly relax

It’s a village, deserted in the canyons, it’s wooden houses crumbling with time and weathering

Survival Rate: 100%

I think we all expected this one but you’re being hunted. It’s just you, the flora, the fauna, and a big wolf trying to kill you

It’s Wolf Twi but it’s not wolf Twi. Like, that’s the Blue-eyed Beast alright, but that’s definitely not Twilight. That’s a Wolf hardened by the need to survive. A need to eat.

The thing about this room is that it’s very survivable, but only to a select few people

For people who know how to manage in the woods, who know how to make fires without lighters, who know how to properly cook wild animals without utensils and iron, for those who are experienced in the wilds, they have a much easier time surviving this

But for those who are always inside and have little to no outside knowledge, you’re cooked almost immediately

This is a genuine hunt. This wolf can hear god knows how far, this wolf can track you with even the faintest scent

The only reason why the survival rate is as high as it is, is because it hesitates.

That’s how many survive their first encounter with the wolf, the wolf hesitates to take that final bite

I feel like the only real way to get out of here if to survive for a certain amount of time

Survival Rate: 52%

Warriors

Another idea by @tiercel13 because they are so big brained

For safe it's the castle barracks but they have a completely nonsensical layout

there's random doors where they shouldn't be and some of the actual ones are gone, there's things in the rooms like it's just been vacated but a layer of dust covers everything

It must be vacant right? Those shadows that lurk behind the corners are just you going crazy right? Nobody is here. Nobody is here. Nobody is here. Nobody is here-

Survival Rate: 87%

You got claustrophobia? That’s too bad, you’re stuck in a fairy bottle now

You don’t get ripped apart or anything like that

Your death will be slow and painful

Conserve oxygen? There’s no reason to, you’re not going to be set free :)

Sky

I feel like being blunt with this one

Safe space is just a vacant Skyloft

No one is around, just the occasional keese and Remlits and rapid Loftwings flying about so watch your head!

It’s peaceful and welcoming and airy but empty.

I imagine that this would bring about some sort of uncanny valley feeling, but that is probably the wrong word for it. Because who lived here? Why are these birds so big? Why are these raccoon cats so aggressive at night?

Survival Rate: 100%

Get Silent Realmed😌

Basically just that. If you don’t know what the Silent Realm is, it’s basically a thing you do in SS where you have to get 15 tears

You have to get 15 orbs, if you step into waking water or a spirit’s light or take too long to get one of the orbs, the guardians will be after you

The guardians are what make this space dangerous. If they catch you, no matter how insignificant the gash was, you will die

You can get these guardians off of you when you get the next tear, but until you get all of them and retreat back to where you started, you are at the mercy of the guardians

Survival Rate: 73%

Wild

Picture this, you just woke up in this weird place so naturally, you ask someone where you are.

“This is Faron woods, are you a traveler?”

“…sure…?”

“Great! I can’t really leave this stable with my condition, so could you do me a favor and give this to my wife?” The old man asked

“…what?”

“She lives over in Hateno, up passed the Dueling Peaks!” He shoves a note in your hands

“Sir I-“

“Thank you so much! Here’s your pay for your kindness!” Upon inspecting what he had given you, you see that this is a bare diamond

You were bringing this man’s wife this letter.

Survival Rate: 85%

Evermean forest, good old homicidal trees, need I say more?

Survival Rate: 95%

Wind

Imagine chilling on a boat with your grandpa but your grandpa is the boat.

Yes, the waters are expansive, you haven’t seen an island in days if at all, but this boat is keeping you company, telling jokes, soothing your nerves

Maybe you should be freaking out that this boat is talking, but his voice is nice so what can you say?

You start to joke around, singing dumb sea shanties, he chuckles with your antics, but keeps moving forward.

The sea is vast, but at least you’re not alone

Survival Rate: 98%

Imagine this: You’ve just been dropped in this random place. Now you’re on a random raft in the middle of the sea

Suddenly, the wind isn’t strong enough to push you forward and you’re on top of a tidal wave

Your raft finally gets back on steady water, but now there’s a shadow looming over you

You turn around and you can even comprehend how big it is

It’s probably the Kraken btw

Survival Rate: 0%

You’re cooked 100%

Hyrule

I’m realizing that a good bit of these rooms are in the woods, well, Rulie’s is no better🤷🏽‍♂️

Except these woods don’t have anything trying to actively murder you and eat you

These woods have things trying to help you

Little floating glowing grandmas if you will😌

As soon as you fell into these woods you smelled sugar and sweets, you were still very discombobulated from your fall and now you were suddenly in woods?

Soon enough, you’re swarmed by lights of different colors, they ask you if you’re alright, if you’re ok, what is someone like you doing here

Then they guide you out of the Fairy woods, whether that means that you end up in another room or go home is up to god

A neverending cave slowly circling further and further down. The deeper you go the more it seems to close in, the air seems thicker, and the voices of people you almost recognize begin to echo off the walls, crying for help

This room, similar to Time’s “safe space” is mostly a “you’re going to go insane” rather than “that thing is gonna fucking kill you” :)

Survival Rate: depends how sane you were when you entered

Four

Imagine going on a wild goose chase for coins kinstones in a field with all the pieces hidden in tall grass

Survival Rate: 100% but it’s hell

This is gonna make some people mad but let me cook rq

You guys know Poppy Playtime? The Smiling Critters that chase you? That one clip from the Hour of Joy when they were eating that one guy alive?

That, but Minish :)

Survival Rate: 0%

As you traverse these woods, you realize that there are no animals in the wake. No rabbits, no mice, not even a wolf.

But this forest is littered with the bones of those lost animals.

So basically for backstory, minish got overpopulated and that meant they ate meat religiously. It was enough to feed, but soon enough, they ran out of food and now they’re hungry again

There is no survival here

There are too many Minish and you are locked in their woods

You can here their chittering and chatting, but if they spot you, you’ll only know by the dead silence of the forest

You can try breaking the bones you find on your path, opening the middle so they can smell the marrow rather than your flesh

But you only have little time and some bones are thick

And- wait…who’s bones are these? These are Hylain bones-

Legend

There are so many choices with Legend…

For his safe room, you’re just chilling on the walls. Not in the walls, on them. Your image is planted on the wall. You can move freely, you’re just glued to the wall, 2D

You’ll probably use this to scare the weird people who live around the house who’s walls you currently inhabit.

Survival Rate: 99.9% (Someone played too much and the family who lived there destroyed the house)

"Ithaka by Adele Gaaras" AKA. I got Mindboggled by an Odyssey-inspired novel, get Boggled with me.

THis is just a little vent!! Do not harass this author or people who like this book! I'm not sharing this to necessarily hate on it but just wanted to share because...Mindboggle. (Also please note I have not read the book all the way through. BECAUSE OF SAID MINDBOGGLE. As I don't think it's good to "hate-read")

Also note, that the author says "it's not a version of Homer nor a retelling of the Odyssey, but a novel written under the influence of stories that I first read as a young child and that I've loved ever since."

Found this book in the "discarded" box at the library, probably should've taken that as a sign and since it was for free and no one else had taken it, I thought I'd grab it!

And I got excited because the book is supposed to take place during the years Odysseus is away and it's PENELOPE'S perspective. Penelope raising Telemachus and cute toddler moments? Her, Anticlea, Laertes, (Maybe even Ctimene!) trying to cheer each other up as a family? Her ruling? So many cool things to explore!

But then I started to read and it was okay at first... But it skipped 13 years, which saddened me as, like I said, I wanted "young mother and child bonding together" But I went along with it.

But then there were other moments I didn't really care for. Weird "bad mother-in-law" Anticlea, ENOUGH WITH THAT. It happens to Demeter already! Stop it! Penelope says that she'll be a mean mother-in-law someday as well as "No one will be good enough for Telemachus" (???), Euryclea has a granddaughter who is the "main character", has AGAMEMNON be the one to put Telemachus in front of the plow >:( and a couple other moments that felt off so to see if this was "worth the read", I went ahead and went to the end as I won't lie I really wanted the "Reunion moment" 🥹

And here comes the Mindboggle.

Penelope has an affair.

She has an affair... WITH FUCKING LEODES!!!

THAT'S THE GUY WHO BEGS FOR HIS LIFE BEFORE GETTING BEHEADED BY ODYSSEUS.

Honestly?? Like, I know it's supposed to be a "feminist" story. (says so on the reviews on the back) You never know with those if they're gonna villainize the male characters. I sadly was already expecting the whole "Even though text from the Odyssey states otherwise, Odysseus is clearly a womanizer"😮‍💨BUT AN AFFAIR?! WHAT IS FEMINIST ABOUT AN AFFAIR?! AND WITH LEODES?!?! WHY NOT MAKE A NEW CHARACTER?! A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSON? Who's actually cool?

The worst part is? Odysseus is so fucking in love, as he should be. You would expect him to be "bad" to make her affair "okay". Especially as it kind of makes it out like he had "affairs" when it's known to someone with reading comprehension that he was SA'ed.

But he's complimenting her constantly, even as a beggar, and dotes on her and respects her. This novel ALSO makes Odysseus "nicer" and "polite" in an "I don't want to kill all these men but it's what I have to do". Which No! Let that man be PISSED. Get tf away from his wife and child! He can be an asshole and still adore his family!

This is supposed to be her introspecting during the morning after. Not explicit in any way but giving heads up anyways.

[...] she could not prevent herself from thinking of Leodes as Odysseus kissed her mouth and her hair and the soft places behind her ears. "Is this hard for you, wife? Is it strange? Like he's incredibly sweet. It makes it sadder because he's crying thinking about how much he missed her. BUT PENELOPE THINKS ABOUT HOW SHE'S CRYING BECAUSE SHE MISSES LEODES!!!

I couldn't stop thinking about Leodes. Remembering how it had been with him. And that made me cry. Odysseus didn't know. I don't think he knew. He thought the tears were for him. Tears of joy. Tears of passion. "Cry, my sweet wife. Let out all the tears that lie within you." "I'm so sorry...you deserve better than a sobbing woman after your journeyings. It will be better, I promise." "Don't say sorry. There's no need. I understand what you are feeling."

Like you're taking away from Penelope AND Odysseus from something that is so fucking important to their story! HER STORY!!! The fact that they love each other so fucking much!!!

Not only that but the Father/son reunion was very lackluster.

LIKE?!?!!? I'm just mindboggled. I don't necessarily "hate" this book. I'm more flabbergasted as I kind of find this whole situation funny. Although I am sad as I wanted moments of her being a young mom, her being with family, her ruling. etc. I just...wanted to VENT!

I went to a family function yesterday. And, every single person was telling me how I should get married because I am eligible to get married (according to them), they told me I should marry to ward off burden from my parents ( Idk why those educated motherfuckers think daughters are burden), they told me that I can study after marriage (cuz of my aunt did it so I can do it too), they told me I can work and find job after marriage, nobody really asked me how am I, how do I feel and how I look at world. They all are so sure that I have no ambitions and I do not want a career. I was so annoyed that I literally started crying.

Why don't people think before opening their mouths? Why can't they just shut up? You meet me once in a year and you give me advices like you know everything about me, no idiots! You have no idea what is going on in my life and what all I am dealing with. You expect me to respect your boundaries but you don't want to respect my feelings? I told them that I have plans and goals, and I don't want to get married now, but nobody was ready understand this! They said, we will ask you again and again to get married ( so that means those questions were intentionally asked and I was intentionally hurt!) People are so rude, I never ask you such personal questions then why do you ask me such annoying questions? This is the reason I don't meet people anymore. And, now I am so frustrated by this ''shaadi, shaadi'' ''(marriage, marriage)'' that I don't want marriage anymore. I don't feel love anymore, this society has ruined my perspective regarding marriage. I hate it now. I feel peace when I am alone. I hate meeting people especially my relatives. They all are snakes. Just because I am polite and don't answer you back that does not mean that I am dumb and my dreams, my life and my whole existence doesn't matter and you can say whatever you want to! I’m just saying. I’m just saying that there was some SHADY shit going down at Spock’s school

I get that there’s a huge concern over keeping your emotions in check, but if you actually think about it, they would know and accept that kids have a harder time controlling their emotions, and so they would have systems in place where if a kid lost control of their emotions, they’d help them calm down and talk out how that kid should’ve logically reacted

What I’m saying, is that it would’ve been more in character for the school officials to look through security footage (which would’ve existed!! with it being the future and the way Vulcans like to document everything to the exact nth) and try to talk to Spock about how he should’ve reacted in that situation

Which means they would’ve seen the group of kids taunting him, and something about them makes me think that this is a reoccurring situation, not just with Spock, but any other Vulcan kid not deemed “Vulcan” enough

So although they would’ve done something about Spock losing control of his emotions, they also would’ve been more concerned about the kids making this a terrible learning space for other children, and they would’ve seen the logic in stopping the problem at its source

But instead no investigation was done? Against three kids cornering one, three kids who I’m sure would’ve been in multiple situations where they’ve had some kind of alternation with another kid, who would’ve let the adults know the other kids were taunting them? No investigation?

I think it was a coverup. I don’t think it’s just the school’s xenophobia either, I think one of those kids’ parents, or all of them, have ties in the school, and every time their kid is almost caught for doing something bad, they have the teachers tell the victims that the best thing to do is to control their own emotions and let it happen, making it seem like it was the victim’s fault so their kids get away with it and no investigation is done

I think the s’chn t’gai family should have sued the school.

One thing I've noticed on Tumblr, is that most of the time, "Villain Whump" is usually an individual who was never really that bad, and was more a minor inconvenience and pest than actual danger, and was always frenemies or love interest to the heroes pre-whump.

And while this is a great trope, that is not Villain whump. That is shady dude whump.

Please. We need more actually once-terrifying Villain and Supervillain whumpees.

Idk who told you guys this is the new way to get attention or charity bc you've been lied to. All that will happen is that i, and likely many others, report your ask and block you.

Don't do this. If you are asking for charity, make your own posts and tag them accordingly (#help needed #charity etc.) Or go to reddit where you're more likely to get help in the appropriate subreddits.

To me, this type of asks is a spam ask, especially since this exact or a very similar wording is being used in all of them that I got over the span of 4 months. As I said in the opener - I've gotten asks exactly like this but from different blogs almost weekly now. I will block and report you and the next ask I get, I will not censor the username of. Don't do this.

I’m not a Season 5 hater by any means, I overall enjoyed the season and was just happy to see my boys on screen again, but my biggest gripe from it was Lincoln’s “backstory” that filled the space between seasons 4 and 5. When Linc was a hoodrat pre-Season 1, it was because he NEEDED to be, to get food and money to keep Michael afloat and send him to school. The debt he was in was the first in the domino effect that got him set up for murder in the first place.

So why, after all of the bullshit he and Michael went through getting his ass out of prison and exonerated, keeping him ALIVE, believing Michael DIED for this in the end, does he then go back and do it all over again essentially? Hang with the wrong crowds, and ultimately end up indebted to shady individuals AGAIN. I sincerely don’t believe Lincoln could be so stupid, even in his depression, to risk going back to prison or turning up dead and undoing all of Michael’s hard work.

Not only that… Him and Sofia aren’t together anymore? No mention of LJ? LJ was Linc’s whole motivation spanning multiple seasons, and now he hasn’t even mentioned his name? Not even an explanation for his absence? It feels like they butchered a whole portion of his character just because they didn’t want to tie up the loose ends.

Anyway I still am happy we GOT another season at all, and it really isn’t SO bad, but it really does feel like they didn’t put a lot of care in Linc’s story, even though he is quite literally a half of the heart of Prison Break. Just my two cents.

lacktwo is such. an interesting character to me. not because he’s particularly well written (infact I believe the opposite) (COUGH who said that) but because he’s surrounded by so many Implications that bw2… does not get into. at all. like all of the reveals and info drops about lacktwo feel like they were only put there in order to get a shocked reaction from the reader and then they like.. expect us to just Move On from that bombshell. I guess.

like its crazy how lacktwos backstory is shown to us by like. lacktwo traumadumping it onto whitwo. and I wouldnt Mind backstories being shown this way IF LACKTWOS BACKSTORY WASNT FUCKING BATSHIT INSANE? like in his retelling lacktwo says that 1. he was orphaned as an infant (implying his parents died) 2. he was protected by interpol In A Crime Scene (which. was probably the one his parents died in why would he be there otherwise) 3. he was taken in by interpol (as an infant) and trained under them (AS AN INFANT?) and continues to work for them to this day 4. interpol’s main method of teaching him how emotions work was a manual. on emotions? A MANUAL? and 5. his entire moral code was molded by someone in interpol. that moral code happening to exactly align with interpol’s mission. peculiar..

and then after he drops 5 consecutive bombs it is Never. brought up again. Not once! WHAT? WHY? you cant just SAY this guy is BASICALLY a child soldier who interpol has honed into a perfect asset for their own purposes and NOT FUCKING TALK ABOUT IT???

oh and dont get me Started on the implications of magician’s direct involvement with interpol. during the beginning of the arc magician is established as a contact that lacktwo has outside of interpol, who works with him in exchange for lacktwo giving him a backdoor into interpols database or whatever. sure! that seems reasonable enough… but then at the very end of the arc. magician is revealed not only to be directly working with interpol but IS A MEMBER OF INTERPOL? atleast thats what the codename heavily implies! now. why does magician need a backdoor from lacktwo IF HE WOULD ALREADY HAVE ACCESS TO IT and WHY IS HE LYING TO LACKTWO (and looker) ABOUT NOT BEING AFFILIATED WITH INTERPOL. FOR WHAT REASON? even the ONE contact lacktwo seems to have that isnt under interpol IS ACTUALLY UNDER INTERPOL. WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? WH

and magicians meeting with the head of interpol does not make them look ANY less suspicious. why would Any morally upstanding organization feel the need to experiment (and they say EXPERIMENT) on one of their assets by Fake Firing them to see if they would continue on with their assigned mission despite no longer being affiliated anymore. For What Reason.

and then guess what! since that revealed at the end of the arc WE DONT GET INTO THAT. and guess what!!! WE HAVE NEVER SEEN THEM AGAIN. well we see lacktwo (as colress) very very briefly in alola but we are just left Completely hanging on that plot thread . what are they planning with him?? GET HIM OUT OF THERE

2. Both definitely wake up early. Shady is used to a routine, probably wakes up early a lot to train while Mitsuami has to wake up early to scavenge, take care and feed Lil Buddy.

Though, to compare the two, Shady definitely wakes up before Mitsuami, way earlier than her, she tends to sleep in sometimes, once they either start living together or when they are still in the phase of staying at each other's place every once in a while, Shady would do her daily chores and let her sleep in for longer cuz, while both yes, wake up early, Shady is the only one of the two that does it willingly XD Mitsuami....not so much.

Mostly because Mitsuami likes to stay up late while Shady goes to bed early, he can't stay past 11pm XD.

4. MITSUAMI!

She definitely is the one that initiates affection, most of the time unintentionally though lol, she's just a generally affectionate person, she's only ever shown to be shy when doing turf, outside she's pretty open and sweet, so I can definitely see her being the one being overly affectionate. She values her relationships over everything.

Shady, as we've seen, is the distant type and has a hard time being close to people, which makes it strange for him to be in a relationship to begin with! So he's not so used to the ropes of things, his form of affection is very distant like, doing things from afar and observing things from his corner, it's Mitsuami who has to reach out 99% of the time, and it's not that he doesn't like or love her, he just isn't used to it and isn't really his fort either, and when he is reached out for he doesn't pull away either

He's only affectionate when he needs to be (aka. To cheer her up)

10. Well, besides the obvious being turf, I'd imagine them sharing a lot of skills together, both are very independent, for different reasons though, so not all they do is enjoyed/understood

Shady is just independent cuz he likes to be on his own, Mitsuami was sort of forced into being independent and such she much prefers doing thins with the help of others

Which might have been a point of conflict at the start, the girl getting excited for finally having someone to do things with while the other just wants to do things on his own.

It's not much as interests and more so of shared chores now that I noctied XD I don't think they share much similar interests, but are interested in what the other does type of thing

Like Mitsuami's tendancy to collect and hoard stuff, he'd sometimes join her.

I think it's just turf really, I don't know much about their characters and a lot is assumptions as of now XD but they definitely bond over turf, Shady helping Mitsuami when she gets cold feet and teaching her a couple stuff.

14. Hmmm, somewhere in-between I'd say

Shady isn't the type to do PDA, Mitsuami does it unconsciously, almost like a reflex, but nothing too over board either, just holding hands when walking and hugging when they meet up, but it doesn't go further than that, I think both get to shy/nervous and prefer to keep it privet/when they're alone if in public.

44. Hmm, I'd say they don't

I like to think of Mitsuami as a restless sleeper, moving around a lot XD so Shady trying to cuddle her is almost like a boxing match lmao

And if they're awake, again, Shady likes to keep his distance, he isn't much of a touchy guy and gets overwhelmed easily, his reassurance is hand/shoulder squeezes, so cuddling rarely happens, only if Mitsuami asks for it, which she tries not to do often to respect his space, but she's pretty touch starved and loves cuddles, Shady does make the compromise though.

So like, once or twice every couple of days or if they're watching a movie or just relaxing and such.
