this is the sort of project that I end up procrastinating for a good time and has to Lock-In once the deadline starts to aproach but thanks goodness I was able to finish this in time.
the idea never really went beyond a weird collage. Nothing really connected, a certain chaos to it. It wasn't really cohesive, but I think it still works. And I like the way things were organized (at least, organized in the best way for a project like this).
you could argue that the chaos in this drawing is a good representation of the nature of SOTM and its updates.
Riley is the only part of the drawing done traditionally. Not really confident that I could execute the idea exactly well in digital. It still works well. And doesn't look too out of place with the rest,at least for me.
I'll want to post the background stuff separately and without the filters/lights. So people can see it better and so that the details I added to them don't go to waste. (This goes for Ink Demon and especially Dumdy).
today was… weird. I feel weird, ngl. But despits what my head says, I'm glad I did this drawing. I'm glad I finished it and posted it. And I hope you like it too.
Happy 414. Have a good night folks.
(good luck to whoever finds the easter eggs (hard mode difficulty) in this piece too)

@y-rhywbeth2 i can't remember if you've talked about this or not but in case you haven't: how do you interpret the unholy assassins? does becoming one mean becoming a member of a bhaal-sponsored assassins' guild, or the clergy, or a new/local order of specialty priests?
going off of dolor and olfaith olumssdottir, candidates are chosen from people who already worship bhaal and/or do a lot of murder, who aren't already members of the temple--so, non-clergy. narratively, just looking at bg3, it mirrors what shadowheart has to do to become a dark justiciar: go through trials, be deemed worthy, sacrifice a celestial.
all bhaal cultist ranks in bg:dta / bg3 get some amount of god-granted magic abilities but looking at the banites and myrkulites, it seems fair to me to interpret only the highest rank as having cleric-type abilities. if we use the fact that the dead three cults are presented as being symmetric and extend this logic to the bhaalists, it gets us 'night blades' and 'reapers' being non-priest… acolytes? aspirants? lay brothers/sisters? simply congregation members? and 'death's heads' being priests and definitively clergy.
where do 'unholy assassins' go here?

what is your favorite thing about charles and your favorite thing about erik? separately, as in what you like most about their characters :]
a devious question this one is, my friend!!! it's hard enough for me to explain my thoughts cohesively, but having to pick ONE thing i particularly love is difficult. with characters like charles and erik, theres been so much done with their characters over the decades and so they have so many components to them that make them so interesting and fun to observe. BUT I TRY FOR YOU TODAY. under the cut i kinda ramble and the size of this text box makin me anxious
i think if i were to be simple and broad, what i enjoy most about charles is his determination to help others, even if he isn't really thanked and/or if people don't even like him. ofc, this isn't to say he hasn't done wrong- to be honest, the fact he does wrong/questionable things at times is another aspect of him i really enjoy, maybe because- broadly speaking- he's meant to be altruistic (intent vs outcome and all that). i don't know if that's super exciting to most people, but it is for me
as for erik, my reason for liking him is easier to explain tbh. To Be Simple And Broad, his progression from villain to antihero over the decades has been fun to observe (as much as i have so far anyhow) and analyze. i think to be a bit more specific, him using his rage and pain as justifications for his villainous actions is definitely what compels me the most: hurt people hurt and the sort, an idea i've always found interesting (something something vicious cycles and the like). yet now, he recognizes this wasn't really. A Just Thing To Do and is beginning to change that, which i enjoy
#snap chats#may you forgive me anon i always feel awkward explaining things AVELKJEAKLJ#i feel esp awkward cause i haven't read toooo much of the comics yet- like ive read. an ok amount so far krakoa wise#can you guys tell im fighting god himself to Not write a fuckin. NOVEL#im so sorry i have an over-explaining problem my mom was mean to me growing up but anyways#i definitely want to read more and more outside krakoa. the more i read the more im fascinated by these two and their history#but to continue my prattling. as if the three paragraphs above arent enough This Is Not A Thesis RELAX#i think a. 'poignant' moment i think adds to what i like about charles too is that soliloquy where he recognizes people dont like him#yet he could always be worse- like if he's bad now to others imagine if he really just said Fuck It All#it's simple but so am i whaddyagonnadoboutit. i mean that point itself could be discussed but i'm trying to keep this brief bear with me#i so bad want to know what issue that's from tho all i know is that it's from krakoa but i neeeed the whole context#i think like. an additional bullet point to charles i also like is his loneliness#and i say this cause- I Say From My Amateur-Psychology Armchair- it's a component of why he's so earnest to help#but im keeping this point in the tags until i can confidently verify that with myself after some more reading#Unfortunately a favorite pass time of mine is psychoanalyzing characters like why else you think i major in psychology smh#im going to force myself to cap the post here because i ended up typing like 20 more tags just rambling#and as i said id like to keep this simple and clean !!!!! i have sat here for like four hours answering this ngl#ignore the fact half that time was spent getting distracted by solitaire and riffling cards ok I Am Very Easily Distracted#but fr when it comes to charles and erik- charles esp imo#i feel like i need to write a whole paper just so i can mention the nuances of the characters and like. EVERYTHING#because again six decades is A Lot of time for writing decisions to be made and for their characters to change over time#im a glazer but i wanna be a nuanced glazer yk. is that glazing at that point-- w/e anyway#its a lot. so today you will have to tolerate a very Blah answer from me which i must apologize for#down the line once ive read a comfortable amount more varying from multiple eras maybe ill revisit this question more in depth#as of right now tho .... chat i wanna get legion of x so bad i skimmed it and hhhhhhhhim gonna throw UP#i need to shake charles like a ragdoll BUT ANYWAY. bye bye for now lovelies !!!!!!!#please forgive me if i didnt answer your question efficiently ..#here i am saying i wanted to keep the tag count brief and yet !!! jesus christ. shut up My God I REACHED THE TAG LIMIT

what’s your favourite companion theme?
BESTIE this is such a hard question.... i genuinely love them all. murray gold is sooooo good at character themes. martha's theme being heroic and determined, river's theme being mysterious and tragic, bill's theme being bright and charming, i could go on. i really really like how the moffat era companion themes, especially clara's, are sort of woven in to other songs/make appearances in multiple tracks. like how clara's theme plays in the track face the raven... yeah. amy's theme playing at the end of the track the wedding of river song. etc. i do think my favorite musically is rose's theme. it's just soooo fucking gorgeous and hopeful and so rose.
i do think my Favorite favorites if i Had to choose are rose's theme and clara's theme. and my answer for why is pretty simple. both rose and clara have EXTREMELY recognizable themes. the first couple notes of their themes play, and we in the audience understand this character's presence in this scene whether or not they're onscreen. in other words, their themes are so evocative of these characters that we recognize it as them without seeing them at all. for instance, clara's theme playing in The Pilot when bill asks the doctor to imagine his memory being wiped. they invoke her presence in a way that the audience will IMMEDIATELY recognize, even though neither character in this scene wouldn't. when rose and the doctor reunite in the stolen earth, and donna says, "why don't you ask her yourself?" and the first couple notes of rose's theme plays as the doctor turns around... and then we see his reaction.... and then we see her with this big smile on her face.... LITERALLY scenes of all time and it's made 50000x better by the music
it's basically confirmed we'll hear donna's theme in the 60th. if i hear any of the other themes in the 60th i WILL die. here's hoping!

⚔️ // words did not come easily to byleth . for all that her students deemed otherwise : SHE WAS A POOR MINISTER OF SENTIMENT . words held emotions she could not place , and emotions had words to which she knew no name . AND SO IT WAS that as the music swelled and faded in the timelessness of but a mere moment , one of those feelings BURST and LINGERED within her .
Tumblr media
a light danced within eyes that had grown just a hair's breadth wider . THE FEELING glittered like starlight there , and was gently held to her lips as byleth's fingertips pressed against the flesh — and byleth HELD HER BREATH .
"myst . . ." the book balanced in her hand snapped shut and was held close to byleth's chest . grappling for words , she clutched the book ever more tightly as - UNBIDDEN - her lips curled into a glowing beam . "what a beautiful gift you have been given ," she breathed , "may i — can you tell me more?"
so  that  magic  is  supplemented  by  a  symphonic  habit.  a  memory.  myst  tilts  his  head  in  consideration ,  silent  in  the  face  of  byleth's explanation.  the  distance  set  into  his  features  grows  deeper ,  briefly  dipping  into  a  calculative  shadow  until  he  blinks  them  away.
"  no ,"  he  answers  simply.   "  the  likes  of  mages  produce  spells  with  a  conduit  and  a  source  —  "  as  numerous  as  the  stars ,  drawing  from  energies  of  water ,  fire ,  and  the  earth.  higher  powers.  "  that  source  often  include  . . .  certain  entities  whom  govern  over  concepts ,  such  as  promises  or  time.  MUSIC  happens  to  be  mine  and  manifests  under  my  will.  "
he  expels  a  quick  breath.
Tumblr media
"  a  moment ,  please  —  "  is  the  only  warning  before  myst  lays  a  finger  upon  the  open  pages ,  lowering  the  sheets  in  her  hands  enough  to  see  the  inked  staves.  he  picks  an  arbitrary  line  and  then  shifts  his  eyes  to  byleth ,  dispassionate.
in  a  casual  sweep  of  his  free  hand  and  command ,  invisible  strings  are  plucked ,  lifting  several  notes  from  the  page  into  an  echo  of  its  music.  it's  fleeting ,  yet  everywhere  and  nowhere  at  once ;  remote and  sourceless.  heads  turn  in  the  archive  privy  to  the  sound ,  too.  but  when  myst  draws  back  a  step ,  it  ENDS ,  and  the  world  falls  back  into  the  quiet  shuffle  of  pages  and  the  murmuring  of  scholars.
" . . .  as  you  just  heard , "  he  adds  with  the  poise  of  an  afterthought.

I Didn't Mean For This | M. Rempe
word count: 2.19k
pairing: Matt Rempe x fem!reader
summary: Matt makes a bet with his teammate that he can get any girl in the club.
warnings: Matt's an asshole? angst?
requested: yes
notes: this took a little longer than I hoped to write and the ending kind of sucks, imo, but I hope y'all enjoy!
Tumblr media
“I don’t think you could get any girl in here.”
It was a stupid argument, starting between Braden and Matt. Forcing their teammates into the conversation, with Matt claiming he could have any girl in the room.
“Let’s settle this, Matt you get with her,” Jacob pointed to the first girl he saw, somewhere around Matt’s age, she was gorgeous, “For a week then you’ve won, if not, Braden was right.”
Matt nodded, he could do this. He made his plan, running through what he would do to gather your attention, ignoring his teammates remarks about how immoral this was.
His movements were precise, walking over to you with a goal, leaning against the bar you sat at, watching you glance up at him when he slid beside you.
“Anyone sitting here?” He spoke softly, testing the waters.
“No, it’s all yours.”
He smiled, sliding down onto the stool beside you, his hand lingering on the tabletop beside yours for a minute longer than necessary.
“What’s your name?” He was the first to speak, initiating the conversation, asking you simple questions about your life and answering as if he were genuinely interested.
Within the hour, he’d learned all he needed, he had your name and your number and a date set up for tomorrow night.
“See you tomorrow Matt.” You held a shy smile as your friends returned to drag you away from the bar and back to your apartment.
Nervous would’ve been an understatement, waiting for Matt to arrive the following night. He had messaged ten minutes ago, claiming he was just leaving his apartment, he’d been at yours in fifteen minutes. You paced the room nervously, anxiously cleaning up random things in your kitchen, before being interrupted by a soft knock on your door.
Opening it quickly to reveal Matt, dressed in well-fitting jeans with a button up, holding a bouquet of roses. He was quick to push the roses towards you, telling you how beautiful you looked and that the flowers were for you.
“Thank you.” you almost whispered, shocked at how formal he was being, quickly finding a vase for them to stay in before following him out, taking his outstretched hand, letting him lead the way.
“I hope you don’t mind, but I thought we could do something different than go to a restaurant.” He spoke softly, opening the door of his car for you before walking around to his side. “I was thinking we could go to the arcade.”
It was a quick drive to the arcade, Matt’s eyes occasionally drifting from the road to you during the ride. He was quick to remove himself from the driver's seat, running in front of the car to open the door to the passengers side, holding his hand out for you to take.
“What a gentleman.” Your tone was soft, joking, watching him smile at the words.
“Mama raised me right.” He grinned, leading the way into the arcade.
The night moved fast, playing every game that caught your eye, letting Matt win prizes for you, it was something of a movie that made you sad when it came to an end.
Leaving at the same time the arcade closed, hand in hand with Matt while he led you back to his car, driving you back to your apartment slowly, savoring his time with you.
“I wish this night would never end.” He whispered, his hands on your hips, standing outside your apartment door.
“Me too.”
Without thinking, he was kissing you. Your lips molded together perfectly, his hands keeping you pulled tight against his body, your hands tugging through his hair.
He pulled away panting, his forehead pressed to yours while you smiled, pecking his lips once more before turning inside, whispering a ‘good night’ while he stared as you closed the door behind you.
His walk down the hall was slow, his hands gripping his phone where he rewatched the video, listening to the conversation that had just played through before sending it to Braden. The simple ‘6 more days’ text that followed had him smiling, opening the door to his car while he simply liked the message.
It was no more than a day later when Matt showed up at your door again, holding takeout and sporting a shy smile.
“What are you doing here?” The smile on your face was confirmation enough, he made the right choice coming over.
“I wanted to surprise you, I was thinking dinner and a movie at home?” He suggested, raising his hands that held the bags of food.
“That’d be amazing, thank you.”
It wasn’t till he was leaving that night had he remembered about the bet, sending a quick message to Braden stating ‘5 more days and I win’ with a smile on his face.
It wasn’t till three days after that he’d shown up again, appearing at your door with bags of goodies after you claimed you couldn’t hang out because you were sick.
His knocking was soft on the door, hoping to not wake you if you were sleeping, waiting to hear the pad of your footsteps coming to the door.
“Matt?” Shock  filled your voice, standing wrapped in a blanket as you opened the door, your voice rough with a cold as you spoke.
“Brought you some things to make you feel better.” He smiled, shifting your body to the side, sliding into your apartment before picking you up, his bag of goodies left beside the front door for now.
“Matt you’ll get sick!” you were smiling as he carried you, bringing you into your bedroom and laying you down gently.
“It’ll be worth it to spend time with you.”
When he snuck out, at nearly midnight once he was sure you were asleep, his phone flashed the three messages from Braden.
‘Any progress?’
‘I think I might win this tbh’
‘Shit where are you man?’
A smile covered Matt’s face, laughing at his teammates messages before quicking typing one back.
“Let me in.” Matt’s voice, muffled through the door, filled your kitchen.
“One second I need to take the cookies out.” You yelled back reaching in the remove the hot tray from the oven, knicking your arm on the top as you pulled them out, muttering a soft ‘fuck’ as you placed the cookies and went to open the door.
“Baby, what happened?” Matt’s eyes immediately dropped to the red patch on your arm, his hands reaching to hold your arm to look.
“I just hit my arm on the over, I’ll be fine.”
“No, we’re taking care of this.”
He had a determined look in his eyes, as if he’d never take no for an answer, leading you into your bathroom to clean the burn himself.
The sight alone was something you wouldn’t mind seeing everyday, sat on the counter while he rummaged through your items, finding all the ones he needed before gently cleaning the burn.
His touch was gentle, as if he were scared of breaking you, his eyes always on you, his heart racing as he tried to focus.
“Thank you, baby.” You whispered, leaning up to kiss him when he finished, letting his body melt into yours.
Leaving was almost the worst part of the night, at least in Matt’s opinion. He dreaded walking through your door, clinging onto your body a little bit longer before he had to leave, walking slowly through the halls.
Glancing at his phone he saw the message from Braden, reminding him of the bet he’d forgotten about, his mind only focused on falling in love with you.
‘You won man, gg’
He ignored the message, fighting the urge to block Braden for reminding him that this started as a bet. Guilt flooded his body as he walked, how could he have been so cruel to make her a bet?
He deleted the messages, spending the night forgetting that the bet had ever been made, trying to drown the feeling of guilt in the morning when you messaged him a thank you for last night.
‘Open the door’
The message woke you up, coming through at 7 am on a saturday morning, Matt’s contact photo filling your screen when he deemed you hadn’t answered fast enough.
“Open up, I brought you something.” You could hear the smile in his voice, slowly moving from your bed as he spoke, rummaging for something else to put on.
“Let me get some clothes on.” You groaned, dropping your phone onto your bed to get dressed, picking it up right after before heading to your door.
Opening it to reveal Matt holding two cups of coffee and a bag of food, greeting you with a hug whilst balancing the order.
“I missed you.” He whispered, as if he didn’t want anyone else to hear, letting your arms wrap around his shoulders, pulling him down.
“Missed you too.”
It had been months, three months since the first date. He was the picture perfect boyfriend, more than anyone could want.
“I love you so much.” He whispered, constantly, laying almost on top of you on the couch, watching whatever stupid show was playing on the television.
“I love you.” You’d whisper back, glancing down to see the smile on his face.
Those were your favorite days, lazy days with Matt. He would lay with you all day, showing constant affection, whispering sweet nothings. It couldn’t get better.
His phone buzzed from the counter, laying discarded from this morning while you both had lounged on the couch. Matt was cooking, something he did rarely but nonetheless loved, urging you to grab his phone and read the message for him.
“Okay it’s from Braden, ‘Are you still with her?? You won the bet you can drop her now’” Your voice lowered as you read, dropping the phone to stare at Matt, where he froze in horror.
He turned quickly, facing you with a look of guilt along his features, his mind moving quickly through things he could say to you.
“Baby,” He tried, your hand raising to cut him off.
“What the fuck does that mean, Matthew.” Your voice was filled with venom, watching his eyes widen at the words.
“I- Fuck.” He stuttered, nothing sounded good enough anymore for him to say, his mind frozen trying to think. “I didn’t mean for it to go this far. I didn’t mean for this to happen.”
“What does that mean?” The words were sharp, pushing an urgent tone as you glared towards Matt.
“Baby I can explain-”
“Don’t fucking ‘baby’ me!” The yell caught him off guard, flinching back towards the stove where he stood in front.
“Okay, okay, I’m sorry. But you have to let me explain.” He begged, his eyes filling with more guilt as time passed.
“You have five minutes before I kick you out of my house.”
You could hear the several ‘thank you’s mumbled from him as you walked back to the couch, sitting in the corner whilst Matt followed and sat on the other side.
He paused for a moment, looking at you while you held a glare at him.
“What are you waiting for? Speak.” The words made him almost recoil, having never heard you be so venomous.
“Fuck, I’m so fucking sorry.” His words broke when he reached to run a hand through his hair, planning his next words. “It’s okay if you never forgive me but you need to know I love you.”
Your eyes never softened, keeping the hard glare at the tall man while the gears turned through his mind on how to explain this.
“You deserve the truth, this was a bet.”
It was like the world had gone silent, everything had stopped spinning, the leaves had quit falling and all was over. You had been a bet to him.
“But listen I fell in love with you, Baby believe me. I would never lie about that-”
“No? You’ll just lie about the rest of our relationship! None of it was real!”
There were tears streaming down your cheeks, covering them with a shine that reflected the light of the room. Matt’s eyes clouded over, leaning his head back to keep the tears from dropping.
“It was real! I love you, baby please.” Matt’s pleas were useless, the words being ignored as you tried to make the room stop spinning in your mind and the tears to quit falling.
“Get out.”
Matt froze, all his pleas fell silent as he stared at you wide eyed. His hands dropped in his lap, his eyes scanning your face while you just stared back at him.
“What? Baby please-”
“I said get out, Matthew.”
You moved quickly, walking past his figure on the couch to open the front door, holding it open whilst gesturing for Matt to go through it.
“I was a fucking bet to you and you thought that this would all be fine? Get the fuck out of my house Matthew!”
He moved slowly, grabbing the discarded phone from the kitchen counter as he passed, mumbling out more apologies as he walked through the door, turning to say more as the door shut in his face.

i've seen a couple people in the notes of this very good post about fictional polyamory by @thebibliosphere say things along the lines of "oh, i've been doing it wrong :(" or "how do i know if i did this right??" or "i should probably give up and start over, i wrote this badly :(" and. no!!!!
(i AM seeing far MORE people say "oh, this clarified and helped me so much, i think i know how to fix issues i've been having with my own story" which. YES!!!!)
listen. if you're a monogamous person who's writing a polyamorous relationship, and you've been focusing mainly on The Triad and All Three Together All The Time as the endgame, that's literally fine. that's a perfectly acceptable and strong starting point for your plotting, imo. you do not need to give up on a story that you've started like this.
but the things discussed in the post Can and Should improve your execution!
you can keep the same plot beats and overall relationship arc 100%. polyamorous relationships are infinite in their formations, every one is unique. "basically a monogamous romance but with three people" Does exist, as a relationship type. you're not hashtag Misrepresenting (TM) poly people with it
BUT i do think it will help to read up on some poly people talking about how their relationships Differ from monogamous ones.
so i have outlined some basic important concepts about polyamory.
MORE IMPORTANTLY though, i've broken down some questions that you can answer throughout the writing process to strengthen your individual dyad relationships, your individual characterization, & your characters' individual feelings/experiences. this is a writing resource have fun
future kitkat butting in to say i spent over two hours writing this and it definitely needs a readmore. it is also NOT comprehensive. but everything should be pretty simple to follow! feel free to reblog if you find it helpful yourself or just want to reward me for how gotdan long this took KSLDKFJKDL.
i've grabbed quick links for a couple of the important concepts, some have SEO pitches in them but the info largely seems to be good. (if i missed anything Egregiously Gross on these sites i should be able to update the links with better ones later, since they're under the readmore.)
sidenote: this is NOT meant to be overwhelming, despite the length. if you can't read all of this, that's Okay. you do not need to give up on your writing.
here we go:
compersion!
compersion is a BIG thing in a lot of polyamorous relationships. it's joy derived from seeing two (or more) of your partners happy together, or joy derived from seeing your partner happy with someone else.
compersion is really important as a concept because it highlights that every individual relationship within a polycule is different -- and that that's a GOOD thing. it's sort of the inverse of jealousy.
by the "inverse of jealousy," i mean that instead of feeling left out and upset and possessive, you feel happy/joyous/content.
i can use personal experience as an example: it's a Relief for me when my partners receive joy/support/sex/romance/etc that i can't (or prefer not to) give them. and i love seeing my partners make each other laugh and be silly together.
it's 100% okay for a poly triad not to be together 100% of the time, it doesn't mean that the third member is being left out or not treated equally when two people do things alone together.
(i have individual dates with my partners all the time! PLUS larger 3-and-4-person date nights.)
if the third member DOES feel jealous or left out, then the polycule can have a conversation to figure out what needs/wants aren't being met, and solve that. this happens semi-regularly in my polycule, as it will happen in any relationship (including monogamous ones)! it's just part of being an adult, sometimes you have to talk about feelings.
metamours!
a metamour is someone who is dating your partner, but ISN'T dating you. this may not be relevant for people writing closed three-person romantic sexual triads, but it's a super helpful term to know.
the linked article also lists different types of metamour relationships with some fun phrasing i hadn't heard before. the tl;dr is: sometimes you'll be domestic cohabitation friends, sometimes you'll be buddies with your own friendship, sometimes you might not interact much outside of parties, every relationship is different.
there's no one-size-fits-all requirement for metamour relationships. sometimes polyamorous people will end up dating their metamour after a while (has happened to me), sometimes polyamorous people will break up with one partner for normal life reasons, but remain friendly metamours.
the goal of polyamory is NOT for EVERYONE to fall in love. it is 100% okay if this happens in your story, it happens in real life too! but it is also 100% okay for characters to be metamours without ever becoming "more than friends."
(sidenote: try to kill any internalized "more than" that you have when it comes to friendship. friends are just as important and special and vital as partners.)
of course there are a million ways for messiness to occur with metamours within a complex polycule, exactly like with close-knit platonic friend groups. however this post is not about that! there's enough "here's how polyamory can go wrong" stuff out there already, so i'm focusing on the positives here :)
open versus closed polyamorous relationships!
i'm struggling to find an online article that reflects my experience without directly contradicting at least SOME stuff. so i'll give a quick rundown
google has a bunch of conflicting definitions of open relationships and whether open relationships are different from polyamory. the general consensus seems to be that an open relationship prioritizes one partnership (often a marriage), but that each partner can have extraneous flings or long-term commitments (most often sexual in nature).
this is not typically how i use the term wrt polyamory. the poly concept is pretty simple. a closed polyamorous relationship is one with boundaries like a monogamous one. there are multiple partners in the polycule, but they are not interested in having anybody new join said polycule.
an open polyamorous relationship tends to be more flexible -- it just means that IF someone in the polycule develops mutual feelings for a new person, it's fine for them to become part of said polycule if they want to! the relationship/person is open to newcomers.
some groups will need to negotiate this all together, others will just go "haha, you kids have fun." just depends on the individuals!
with open AND closed polyamorous relationships, the most important thing is making sure that there's respectful communication and that everyone is on the same page. but there's no one-size-fits-all way to do that.
i wish i could give you guys a prescriptive "You Must Do It This Way" guide, but that's.... basically the opposite of what polyamory is about, HAHA.
feelings for multiple people!
i was gonna tack this on to the previous section but decided it warranted its own lil bit.
a defining feature (....i'm told?) of monogamous relationships is that a monogamous person only has feelings for One individual at a time. they only want a relationship with one individual at a time. or, if they DO have feelings for multiple people simultaneously, they're still only comfortable dating one person at a time & being exclusive with that one person.
this is perfectly fine!
the poly experience is generally different from this. but once again..... polyamorous people all have different individual perspectives on this.
for me, i have never been able to draw hard boxes around romantic vs sexual vs platonic relationships, & i love many people at once. my personal polycule lacks many strict definitions beyond "these are my chosen people, i want to forge a life with them indefinitely, whatever shape that life takes"
some poly people feel explicit romantic or sexual attraction to multiple people at once, some poly people feel almost no romantic or sexual attraction at all. i'd say that MOST poly people feel different things for different partners, which is not a bad thing!
some poly people are even monogamous-leaning -- they have just chosen one romantic partner who is themselves part of a larger polycule. (so this monogamous-leaning person has at least one metamour!)
or alternatively, they might have one romantic partner AND a qpr, or other ways of defining relationships. (this is a factor in my own polycule!)
i made this its own point because if you're writing a straightforward triad, this is unlikely to come up in the story itself -- but it's worth thinking about how your characters develop/handle feelings outside of their partnerships.
like, is this sort of a soulmateship, 'these are the only ones for me' type deal? in which they won't fall in love with anyone else, and can be fairly certain of that?
that's pretty close to typical monogamous standards but you Can make it work. just be thoughtful with it
alternatively, can you see any of these characters falling in love Again after the happily-ever-after? and how would the triad approach it, if so? what would they all need to talk about beforehand, and what feelings would everybody have about the situation?
it's worth considering these questions even if the hypothetical will never feature in your actual canon, because knowing the answers to these questions will help you understand all of the individuals & their relationship(s) MUCH better.
i've been typing this for nearly two hours and there's a lot more i COULD say because... there's just a lot to say. i'll close out with some quick questions that you can ask yourself when developing the dyad dynamics within your triad
first, take a page and create a separate section for each individual dyad. then answer these questions for every pair:
how does each pair act when alone?
how do they act differently alone compared to when they're with their third partner?
are there any elements of this dyad (romantic, sexual, financial, domestic, etc) that these two people DON'T have with the third partner?
if so, what are they?
are there any boundaries or hard limits within this dyad that aren't shared with the third partner?
if so, what are they?
partner 3 goes out of town alone for a few weeks. what are the remaining two doing in their absence?
(doesn't have to be anything special, it's just to get a sense of how the two interact on a day-by-day basis without the third there)
what is something that each partner in the dyad admires about the other -- that they DON'T necessarily see in the third partner?
what problem do These Two Specifically need to solve in the story before their relationship will work?
how is that problem DIFFERENT from the problems being solved within the other two dyads?
doing this for ALL THREE dyads is VITAL imo. that way, you develop complex and nuanced and different relationships that all have unique dynamics.
those questions should be enough to get you started, i hope
then After you've charted the differences in relationships, you can start to jot down similarities in the overarching triad. what does one person admire in Both of their partners? what are activities that all three like to do together? what are boundaries or discussions that all three share?
but the main goal is to figure out how to Differentiate each relationship!
a polycule is only as strong as the individual relationships within it. if two people are struggling with their own relationship, adding a third person won't fix that.
(UNLESS the third person is the catalyst for those two to, like, Actually Communicate And Work Their Shit Out. i just mean that the old adage of "maybe if we just add a third-" works about as well to fix a miserable non-communicative marriage as, uh, "maybe if we have a baby-")
AND FINALLY.
if you're not sure whether your poly romance reads organically to poly people, you can hire a sensitivity reader with poly experience. if you can't afford that, you can read up on polyamorous resources like a glossary of terms & articles actually written by poly people. (and stories written by poly people!)
you can also just.... ask poly people questions, if they're open to it. i like talking about polyamory and my own relationships so you're welcome to send asks if u want, i just can't guarantee i'll answer bc my energy levels fluctuate a lot and i don't always have time.
polyamorous people are in an uphill battle for positive representation right now & so the LAST thing i want to see is authors giving up on their stories bc they're worried about getting things Wrong. well-meaning and positive stories that treat this kind of love as normal, healthy, & aspirational are So So So Needed. even if you guys end up with some funky-feeling details.
seriously, if you're monogamous then you probably don't have a full idea of Just How Nasty a lot of people can get about polyamory. i wish it DIDN'T mean so much for you guys to want to write nice stories about us, but it does mean a lot. and it means a lot that you want to do it WELL.
in conclusion. this is not a prescriptive guide, it's just a way to raise questions. and also, you all are doing FINE.

YE6's butterfly effect. AKA: how did vein "die"?
I'm trying to puzzle out the butterfly effect in YE6, and here is my interpretation so far. if this theory is correct, it would also answer the question of who has the faking death ability and what exactly was liu xiao doing during the whole arc.
of course, feel free to correct me if I got this wrong. I could be missing some key information. I'm just writing this in an attempt to figure it out myself. also, this is gonna be a long post, sorry.
a lot of people are speculating that lu guang directly killed vein somehow through an ability, but I don't think that's what actually happened (although I wish that was the case). I also don't think the situation is as simple as "lu guang wanted vein dead" because I also think that liu xiao is interfering with the same events. there are two puppeteers in YE6, imho.
let's start with lu guang. for one thing, we know he can't directly kill vein with any of the abilities he has, since both scanning 12 hours of photo history and diving into the past require, well, a photo, which lu guang did not have. yingdu even stressed the rules of how both abilities work. if lu guang directly killed vein through ability use, this would imply he has another ability up his sleeve, and I really don't think we've been given enough evidence that points to that. if he always had this ability, why hasn't he used it before on vein in other timelines?
remember that yingdu has a lot of visual metaphors in its storytelling compared to other seasons. I believe lu guang caused the chain of events to happen in such a way that vein would die, but he was not the one to kill him, and that's why there's the animation of him orchestrating vein's death through wang qing, like a ventriloquist would control a puppet. in fact, I would go even further: lu guang and wang qing never got the chance to kill vein, although lu guang certainly thinks he did. we will circle back to this under the cut later, once we've built up the evidence to reach this conclusion.
another thing is the info we learned from an interview with director li. it is unfortunate, imo, that we had to learn this through an interview and not from the show itself (I feel this is yingdu's biggest writing flaw), but whatever. here are the key points to know though:
vein doesn't have an ability during yingdu arc
liu xiao has more than one ability (we know one of them already, which is interestingly enough, heartbeat related)
(not from the interview, but hinted in the show) someone has a "faking death" ability
before we go into the butterfly effect and how vein died, let's go over the details of his death:
from the autopsy report: vein's cause of death is myocardial infarction. aka a heart attack
xia fei later says there were no external injuries and no signs of poison
also, tiny detail, but vein was holding something like a tranquilizer gun in the clinic. the "bullets" he fired on both wang qing and cheng xiaoshi were meant to put them to sleep, not to kill them.
finally, let's lay out some character motivations. this will be important later.
liu xiao wants to get the notebook that belonged to cheng weimin. vein is working with him on this.
lu guang wants to avoid cheng xiaoshi's death node, and he plans to do it by killing vein
now, for the analysis. how did vein "die"?
let's establish something first. since xia fei doesn't know what happened to vein and is looking for the true culprit, we can rule out his involvement. he probably doesn't have the faking death ability, since it was used on vein. and vein doesn't have an ability. so the most likely person to have this ability would be liu xiao. he is also most likely the one to open the body bag with vein in it.
so we can now assume that liu xiao has two abilities:
he can sense someone's emotions and intentions through hearing their heartbeats
he can "fake death" (it is unclear how this works)
well. what an interesting combination! let's put a pin on that for now. remember this for later.
okay. now. let's switch over to lu guang. the big important question here is this: how did lu guang know that delaying vein from entering the clinic would lead to his death through a butterfly effect?
for full context, let's look at what lu guang says in his conversation with vein (I'm using ani-mi's translation, but I watched the bilibili one first and there aren't any drastic changes imo):
do you know the butterfly effect? in a dynamic system, event the smallest changes in initial conditions can lead to vastly different outcomes. I've been wondering, how do you alter a destined ending? what would happen if, before the conclusion, we added another fixed point? another unchangeable node? instead of avoiding deviations, why not let it deviate completely? I know I can't stop you. but I can make you stay a bit longer. now, you can go in.
two things here. first, the mention of an unchangeable node. aka a death node. lu guang for sure wanted vein to die. because if vein dies first, he can't kill cheng xiaoshi. simple logic; great plan.
next, from this speech, we can infer that lu guang planned to create a small change (a butterfly effect) that will lead to a big consequence (vein's death).
it's the second part that should clue us in. he said, "I can make you stay a bit longer. now, you can go in." he knows he can't stop vein from entering the clinic. but he can stall him. he can add a small bit of delay, long enough that it actually matters that vein went into the clinic later than usual.
lu guang knows the effect he wants (vein's death) so how does he know what event (stalling him) would cause the domino effect that leads to it? why does that small delay matter?
let's look at what that extra bit of time actually changed. by delaying vein, another important event happens: cheng xiaoshi has extra time with wang qing, long enough for him to meet his mom, shao yuanyuan. cheng xiaoshi then learns that shao yuanyuan is trying to save cheng weimin. he promises to wait for them and to stop investigating. it is after he makes this promise that vein enters.
we can now infer one more thing here: cheng xiaoshi did not meet his mom through wang qing in the original order of events. this event only happens because lu guang stalled vein.
most likely, in the original order of events, vein incapacitated wang qing too early for her to do anything to him. we don't know what her ability is, but it doesn't matter for this post. all we need to know is that lu guang believes wang qing could kill vein if she was never put to sleep. that is the point of stalling vein from entering the clinic early.
so here's part one of my theory. from lu guang's perspective, this is the plan to kill vein:
stall vein from entering the clinic
because vein entered late, wang qing was possessed by someone with better fighting abilities, allowing her to hold out during the fight
she is then freed from possession, and is still awake when vein tries to leave with the notebook
I don't think we have enough information to really explain what happens next, but what's supposed to happen, imo, is that wang qing kills vein, either through her own ability or someone else uses her to do it. it doesn't really matter how, but this is what is supposed to happen. this is what lu guang wanted to happen. for the sake of this post, we will assume wang qing has an ability to kill vein
vein dies, therefore he can't go to the time photo studio in the future to kill cheng xiaoshi
that's lu guang's butterfly effect. stall vein -> vein dies -> cheng xiaoshi lives.
simple? not quite. I did mention there's another person interfering with these events.
everything I mentioned above is from lu guang's perspective, and that this is what's supposed to happen. but let's look at the actual order of events.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
wang qing wakes up (is freed from possession), notices the notebook on vein, and calls his name (interesting point: she knows his full chinese name). at this point, her eyes have NOT changed color yet.
vein gets a heart attack
only after that does wang qing's eyes change color
we know that changing eye colors is not diegetic, meaning this is more for the audience's benefit. their eyes don't really change color in-universe. sometimes they don't even show us eye colors changing. but when they do show us, we have to pay attention.
therefore, I believe that the timing of the shift in eye color matters.
so here's part two of my theory. liu xiao knew lu guang is going to interfere, so he already arranged a "fake death" for vein in advance (which he doesn't tell vein about lmao, but he seems to have figured it out when he gets the heart attack)
this is how, I believe, yingdu happened from liu xiao's perspective:
he wants cheng weimin's notebook. wang qing has it, but would never give it to him. but she might for cheng weimin's son
he baits cheng xiaoshi into going to bridon
he heard lu guang's heartbeat in the airport, which tipped him off that he's someone he should watch out for
he confirmed that cheng xiaoshi and lu guang are investigating cheng weimin
he assigns xia fei to keep an eye on their progress
he planned to use cheng xiaoshi to bait wang qing into giving up information about the notebook. this is why when xia fei told him that cheng xiaoshi was about to meet her, liu xiao reacts like this is the expected outcome
he assigns vein to get the notebook because wang qing is about to reveal the location. but he also knows that lu guang is kinda shady, so when lu guang stalls vein (and tells him! bro don't tell your plans to your victims! don't tell him you're trying to make a butterfly effect!), liu xiao either just knew this would happen or vein tipped him off before going in
now, notice that vein gets a heart attack before wang qing uses an ability (or is used, whatever) to kill vein. and what have we established before at the beginning of this post? liu xiao has a heartbeat related ability and can fake a death. we don't know the mechanics of the second ability, but we know that compatible abilities can combo with each other. it's not far-fetched to think that liu xiao can fake death with a heart attack
later, we see vein wake up after someone (most likely liu xiao) opens his body bag
so now who's fooled? the police arrives and even does an autopsy. they declare vein dead. lu guang is relieved, and for years he believes this. vein doesn't even visit the studio in 2021 (though li tianchen does, through liu min, but that's neither here nor there). he avoided a death node by creating another one. we can let him believe this lie for a little while...
TL;DR lu guang created a butterfly effect by stalling vein, and that creates a domino effect that should have led to vein's death. except he's not the only one interfering with the timeline. while this is happening, liu xiao orchestrates a fake death for vein before his supposed death actually happens, allowing him to act dead during the autopsy and "revive" later
EDIT: this post was written before the interview translation came out, though I don't think this it contradicts anything here; if anything, this post is in line with the interview.
if you're interested, additional thoughts on vein's death can be found in the following links:
reblog of this post: the fake death ability might be wang qing's, or an effect of a combination of wang qing and liu xiao's ability. I posit in this post that I think liu xiao has the ability; in hindsight, it probably relates to wang qing, though I still think that the "heart attack" is related to liu xiao
thematic analysis (as opposed to plot analysis) on vein's death. I am a huge believer that link click is best analyzed through themes than plot tbh
additional thoughts on lu guang's characterization throughout all of this

THE WAY YOU LOOK AT ME .ᐟ
Tumblr media
✩ — includes: aventurine x gn!reader. fluff. no cws. wc: 359. idk aventurine is probably still in denial abt his feelings in this i think. you could interpret this in any way you like tbh LOL. i grew a soft spot for him after finishing the recent penacony quest and had a huge revelation in the car that this song (the title of this post) really suits a guy like him imo. or maybe im just delusional who knows?
Tumblr media
Aventurine couldn’t seem to grasp why you tend to look at him with such a loving gaze.
There’s just something in the way you look at him—like he’s safe. Accepted. Loved, perhaps. It’s been so long since he felt loved—he practically only had himself, even when he had the IPC by his side. However, when you came crashing into his life, maybe that was when things started to change.
The fact that Aventurine liked to gamble with his very own life didn’t shock you. Nor scare you. And it certainly didn’t make you distance yourself from him. But he still doesn’t get it. Why? Why do you look at him like that? Why do you look at him like he’s the only thing your eyes would choose to focus on? Like he’s the only one you’d care to look at?
Calming, soft, and full of admiration. Those were always the things that Aventurine could notice whenever he looked you in the eye. It scared him at some point because he wasn’t used to this at all. But as time went on, he just grew to accept it. If he could freeze a moment in his mind, it would be the second your eyes met his. Because that’s when Aventurine feels like he could let his guard down, at least for a moment—when he’s with you. He would stop the clock if he could, for that’s all he wanted to feel.
(To be safe in your presence is the last thing he asked for, but he wouldn’t ask for anything more.)
Sometimes, he tends to wonder. How could a simple look in the eye have such an effect on him? Surely there wouldn’t be some scientific explanation behind it (and he doesn’t even bother trying to ask the doctor about it either). Well, he doubts he will get an answer right away. He doesn’t know how or why he feels different in your eyes. Nonetheless, all he knows is that it happens every time.
Aventurine never understood why you would choose to look at him with such emotions swirling in your gaze, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.

to answer the anon asking about how to flirt as an autistic woman, i feel like it's so hard to figure out if someone is interested or not, the best thing imo is to make interest explicitly clear. this interest doesn't have to be romantic at first! something as simple as outright telling someone you find interesting "i like talking to you, it's always fun" or "i like spending time with you" sets an established feeling of mutual enjoyment (that doesnt have to be implicitly romantic!!! this works for friendships too :) ). think about how often you think and remember that little compliment someone gave you in passing like that (i know i remember them and think about them) and this sets the base for a more in-depth interest in someone. personally i have trouble forming a crush or romantic attraction to someone i dont really know that well, and i know others often feel the same
of course theres still the issue of "well how do i meet people?" and that will vary depending on your personality, what you like, etc. some good catch-all advice is showing up to events on your interests, and something as simple as "is someone sitting here" or "do you mind if i sit here?" does a lot for starting a conversation. i personally struggle a lot with those unspoken friendship rules, but i saw this video that explained a lot of these in a clear manner and they make a lot of sense!! looking back at my friendships, they all seem to form in a very similar way https://www.instagram.com/reel/DGEVVtQSJ-r/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
I've been practicing telling people specifically what I like or admire about them lately, and it really makes them light up! We just can't take it as a given that those feelings are coming through, and everybody we love dies too soon so we might as well get our feelings out into the open while we can. It feels nice to do.

Cherry Bomb
Sirius Black x f!reader
Tumblr media
warnings: smut, unprotected p in v, oral (female receiving), soft!dom sirius, underage smoking, brief underage drinking, rough sex, pretty good sex imo, this all leads to a bigger plot i promise !!
summary: you’ve got a plan, and that plan starts with a simple shag with a simple man. sirius black.
word count: 1.6k
a/n: i used two beautiful prompts from this beautiful account @eloquentmoon and they are as followed.
11. “Louder, let me hear you”
28. “I want to have my way with you”
i listened to fat bottomed girls by queen during this and god did it help. anyway, enjoy :)
~~~
If boys could be considered easy, Sirius Black would be the easiest boy in all of Hogwarts. To shag Sirius Black, a girl only needs to meet a short list of requirements. One, she must be fit. Two, she must not be a virgin. And three by far the most important, she must be desperate for Sirius Black.
That’s why he was the first on the list. He was the easiest.
~~~
You stare in the mirror for a few seconds. Everything seems alright. Your dress is tight, your makeup is done, and most of all your plan is set. You turn to your friend and gesture to yourself.
“You’re stunning, as always. I don’t get why you’ve been insisting on doing this. What’s the goal?” Your friend says.
“Some fun I suppose.” You look at the clock on the dorm's wall. “I better be going, parties not going to last forever. Neither is Mr. Black’s smoke break.”
“Have a good time then.”
You grab your purse and start for the door. “Will do. See you tomorrow.”
After a few minutes of walking, you find Mr. Black exactly where you predicted him to be. He’s sitting on one of the benches, a cigarette between his lips. You casually step out into the moonlight, your hand rummaging through your purse. An unlit cigarette is held between two of your fingers, you make a sound of disapproval as you continue pretending to search your bag.
“All right there miss?”
You look up from your bag and shake your head. “Forgot my wand in my dorm.” You pretend to just notice the cigarette between his lips. “Mind helping a lady out with a smoke?”
“Why of course,” he answers. He gestures for you to come closer, and you gladly comply. “But I’m going to need your name first.”
“Why’s that? All I’m asking for is a quick light,” you reply.
He smirks. “If you know mine, I feel it’s only polite to know yours.”
“I don’t know yours, so we’re even. Anyway, how about that light now?”
Without another word, he pulls out his wand. You stick the cigarette between your lips and lean down. He’s surprised, you can tell from the way his eyes shift. Nevertheless, he lights the end of your cigarette. You lean back and take a long breath of smoke. It feels all too familiar in your lungs. You take a step back and pull the cigarette from your lips, exhaling a cloud of smoke.
“Y/n y/l/n.”
“Pardon?”
You look down at him. “My name, it’s y/n y/l/n. I’m from Ravenclaw, probably why you haven’t heard of me.”
“I’m Sirius Black from Gryffindor,” he replies.
“Ah Gryffindor, that’s where I’m heading actually. Heard there’s a big party up there, why aren’t you there?” You ask, sticking the cigarette between your lips again.
He shrugs. “Needed a small break. ‘Suppose it’s a good thing, right? Or else you wouldn’t have that precious fag between your lips. Perhaps it’s fate.”
“I don’t believe in that nonsense.” You pretend to check your watch. “Seems like the time is flying by. I’ve got to run before all the firewhiskey is gone.”
You drop your cigarette to the ground and smoosh it with your boot. When your eyes meet his again, you’re happy to see the slight shift. He’s curious, you can tell. Good. Curious is good. You give him a small smile.
“Nice to meet you Sirius Black from Gryffindor, ‘suppose I’ll see you up there, till then,” you say, giving him a small wink before turning on your heels and starting for the doors.
“Nice to meet you too Y/n y/l/n from Ravenclaw!” You hear him call from behind, but you don’t acknowledge it.
Phase one is done.
It’s almost an hour later when the second phase begins. You’re dancing to the beat of Queen’s newest hit, your hips swaying in a way you hope is entrancing. One or two shots of firewhiskey have been down your throat already, and you’re tempted to reach for a third, but that’s when you see him.
He’s across the room, his dark eyes practically glued to you. Despite how much you’ve planned this moment, you can’t help the butterflies that take over your stomach. Sirius Black, one of the most popular boys in the school, wants you. You lick your lips and watch as he lifts his hand, gesturing to you to go to him like he had earlier in the night.
You inhale one last breath before beginning the walk to him.
It’s the last time you’ll walk straight for a day or two.
And so, phase three begins.
~~~
You gasp as your face meets one of the pillows on his bed. You try to get back up on all fours, but it feels nearly impossible. With one of Sirius’s hands presses down on the small of your back, while the other grips one of your hips you’re lucky your legs haven’t given out yet. He fucks you relentlessly, and you’ve never loved anything more.
“Fuck Sirius,” you moan, you can’t catch your breath. Your orgasm is close. “Sirius.”
“Louder, let me hear you.” His voice is like music to your ears. “Let them all hear you love.”
“ ’M gonna cum Sirius,” you say, a bit louder than your previous words. “Fuck I’m so close please don’t stop.”
“Wasn’t planning to.”
You cum a few seconds later, your whole body shaking as you do. Sirius doesn’t falter for even a moment, making your orgasm ten times more pleasurable. When you’re done, he pulls out and flips you over onto your back. Your eyes meet and you almost audibly moan.
How could someone be so bloody handsome?
He lowers himself so he’s on top of you, his body held up by his two hands placed on either side of your head. You wrap your arms around him, and as he thrusts inside you once again, you let your nails drag down his back. He kisses your neck sloppily, causing you to whimper.
“Have you never been shagged properly?”
You can’t help the small laugh that leaves you. “I suppose not.”
“Something mustn’t be right because your pussy is by far one of the best I’ve ever had.” He presses himself so deep inside you, that you wince in pain. He’s reached your cervix. “So soft, so warm, so tight. In fact, I think I need a taste.”
He pulls out of you again and quickly kisses down your body, pausing only to suck hard on one of your nipples. After that, his tongue is on your stomach, your navel, your...
“Sirius, what are you-”
“I want to have my way with you.”
Your back arches as he begins to lick your clit. Your thighs clench around his head, and your hands move to his hair. You squeeze your eyes shut, the pleasure almost too much for you to handle. He eats you out as if he’s been starved his entire life. His lips and tongue are so soft, so warm. Your second orgasm comes far quicker than the first.
“Perfect taste.”
He begins to crawl up your body, his mouth shining with your cum. You don’t hold yourself back from kissing him, in fact, you’re the one who initiates it. You love the taste of yourself on his lips, it’s one of the most attractive things you’ve ever encountered.
After a minute or two you push him down onto the bed and crawl on top of him. From the way he’s grinning up at you, to the way his gorgeous hair is sprawled out on the mattress, you can’t help the words that slip from your mouth.
“None of the gossips ever mentioned how empowering it is to have the great Sirius Black underneath you.”
He raised a brow. “I thought you didn’t know who I am.”
“I uh...” You give him a small smile and begin to move your hips back and forth, his cock sliding between your incredibly wet folds. “I knew you didn’t know my name, so I pretended not to know yours. To make it even.”
It wasn’t a complete lie, but it also wasn’t the complete truth either.
Sirius’s eyes flutter shut, his hands moving to grip your hips. “I know your name now y/n y/l/n.”
“And you will remember it,” you reply. “Not like all those other girls whose names you forget the next morning.”
“Course not love.”
“It’s not a question.” You lift your hips and slowly begin to sink down on his cock. His fingers dig into your skin, you place your hands on his chest. “It’s a statement. I’m going to spell it out for you.”
You start to rock back and forth and up and down, just the way you know drives guys mad. Sirius is no different. Except, unlike the others, he doesn’t bother to hold back from moaning his approval. You lean down after a few minutes, so your lips are almost touching his ear, and with each movement of your hips, you say a letter of your name.
So, by the time you reach your third orgasm and Sirius reaches his first, your name is properly engraved in his head.
When everything is done and you’re both spent, he holds you in his arms. Your head rests on his chest, and you listen to his gentle heartbeat. The two of you share a cigarette in silence. It’s not uncomfortable in the slightest. Sirius Black has that effect on people.
As you stare at the wall you wonder how you’re supposed to move forward with the plan. You never expected such aftercare from the school player or such kindness during the shag. He’s a very giving lover, contrary to the popular belief that he’s simply another boy who enjoys using girls for his pleasure. You take one last long drag of the cigarette before handing it back to him and closing your eyes.
“I think I quite like you, y/n y/l/n,” he suddenly says, his voice barely above a whisper.
This plan might be harder than you thought.
seeing the influx of gfm campaigns on your dash may be overwhelming- the purpose of this post is to help others navigate through the many gfm links that are circulating here on this site- esp. those that find their way directly to you via your inbox. this advice is specific to tumblr- i cannot speak on other platforms (instagram, twitter, etc.) though some things i say may be applicable
disclaimer: i do not vet/verify any campaigns myself. i simply want people who are willing to engage with these types of posts to do so in a safe manner
read more below:
---
what to do if you get a message from an account claiming to be 🇵🇸 in your inbox:
Tumblr media
-> step 1: do not immediately dismiss it as spam
to quote one of nabulsi's posts:
"... you cannot generalise with Gazans if their tumblr blog is only a few days or a few hours old.
Gazans on tumblr are making accounts for the express purpose of spreading their fundraisers because it is spreading amongst Gazans that tumblr is a safe place to do so.
They could often be making multiple blogs and even remaking after staff flags them as spam. But don't blanket assume that Gazans are scammers if they're on a new tumblr blog with no pfp or content.
I agree that until a fundraiser is vetted you shouldn't reblog it in case it is someone dishonest taking advantage of the circumstances in Gaza. But you cannot do the opposite and immediately assume they're a scammer. I'm seeing people harass Gazans sometimes who genuinely are people who just don't know how to use tumblr and are falsely raising red flags because of it." (read full post here)
to sum it up: don't hit 'report' right away- marinate a lil and put on a detective hat
-> step 2: background check
the following are accounts that are known to vet/verify gfm campaigns here on tumblr. note- this is not a comprehensive list:
el-shab-hussein
nabulsi
90-ghost* (edit 8/4: recently announced that ahmed will no longer be vetting/verifying new campaigns)
ibtisams* (only has done it on situational basis; is not currently vetting new campaigns- read post here)
rubashabansblog (has been promoting other palestinians who lost their tumblr accounts; currently living under occupation)
heba-20 (unsure if heba takes request to vet others personally but is a reliable source for finding legitimate campaigns)
northgazaupdates
fairuzfan (says they are less active on tumblr these days/not currently vetting new campaigns but is a reliable source)
i recommend giving these individuals a follow if you haven't already as they provide far more information regarding all things 🇵🇸. they've all put in a lot of work to make the process i'm sharing with y'all as simple as possible. also please be respectful if you try reaching out to any of them. they are likely getting a high volume of asks and may not be able to respond to you quickly
important note: it has been recently announced that nabulsi + el-shab-hussein have stopped vetting new accounts for the time being and are only focusing on campaigns that have already been vetted. read their full statement here and here
to start- check out the person's account. this can be a hit or miss depending on how new the account is. however- you may notice that the person in question has stated that they have been vetted:
Tumblr media
good signs so far- but better to be safe than sorry. next thing to do is search the username of the person who messaged you on tumblr. it's likely if you got a message like the one pictured above, others may have received one as well and did the digging for you:
Tumblr media
if you can't find a clear answer with tumblr's illustrious search bar/want to confirm someone's claim that the campaign in question was already verified, the next thing to do is check one of the following:
el-shab-hussein's pinned post
el-shab-hussein/nabulsi's google sheet
imo, this process is far easier to do while on a laptop/desktop vs. mobile app. ctrl+f is your friend in this scenario as is the ability to click through multiple tabs. for el-shab-hussein's pinned post, i click through the multiple lists and see if any names match. in ruba's case, she was found under List of fundraisers for my direct contacts from Ghazzah & Sudan:
Tumblr media
and for the google sheet- her campaign is no. 90 on the list:
Tumblr media
tip: to narrow down your search even further- ctrl+f the title of the person's gfm campaign that they've linked on their tumblr account:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-> step 3: share your findings + follow that account
if everything checks out- ✨share le campaign✨ provide the link to it in your response to the ask + where it was verified. make it easier for the next person who gets a message to figure out that the gfm is real
following 🍉accounts is esp. important since the forces that be are keen on suppressing them at every turn. the more eyes on these accounts- the easier it'll be to determine the legitimacy of any new accounts they may need to make
---
okay, but... scams 😬:
-> step 1: seek a master
people can be assholes- and anyone trying to make a profit off of an ongoing genocide can eat glass
anyways- the following are accounts that are known to identify scam posts on tumblr (again, not a comprehensive list. these are just the one's ive seen/most familiar with):
mangocheesecakes
kyra45
kyra45's pinned post contains a plethora of resources to help determine if a post/message is a scam- and not just in regards to 🇵🇸- key goes in on many types of scams. please refer to their guides (and be sure that you are reading the most recent version of key's posts)
-> step 2: if you see sumn, say sumn
we're human and sometimes things slip our radar. so if you ever see someone on here sharing a known scam, do 'em a solid and let them know about it regardless if you are mutuals or not
---
final/misc. thoughts:
it's good practice to double check a campaign's verification with these tools for yourself regardless of how legitimate it looks. note that checking for a gfm's verification is not the same as verifying them. that work should be left to qualified individuals with experience in doing so. this is why it's bad to attempt things you are not qualified to tackle also- i think it's important to remember that transferring 💵 from a gfm campaign to those in need requires a lot of pieces to be perfectly set in place. if you see 🇵🇸 blogs linking alt. methods of raising funds (ex. p*ypal/k*fi) the reason could be that their gfms were frozen/suspended for a myriad of reasons. as always- check credible sources if you are unsure about a campaign you may come across notice how the spreadsheet provided here has over 100+ campaigns listed. generating a list that extensive requires hard work that is undoubtedly both physically and mentally straining to the individuals who are involved in making it. i've seen some accounts myself that have had to announce that they can no longer continue to vet campaigns because it has taken that much of a toll on their wellbeing. do not let their efforts go wasted
other resources:
some other places/grassroot organizations where you can find vetted campaigns:
operation olive branch (oob)
gazafunds
operation poppy flower (now also linked in oob's sheet)
operation watermelon
project watermelon
strawberry seeds collective
ottawa4palestine
camps breakerz crew
gofund(water)me(lons)
flowersfromfalasteen
I love reading Eurylochus analysis but I don’t see people mentioning the beginning of Puppeteer all that often.
Eurylochus starts that song by immediately trying to tell Odysseus about what he did. Immediately. I know we like to characterize Eurylochus as cowardly (mostly because that’s how Jorge describes him and how he’s described in the Odyssey), but I think it says a lot that Eurylochus didn’t try to hide or pretend as if this hadn’t been his fault. He didn’t wait for Odysseus to confront him about it or try to avoid taking responsibility. It’s rather brave imo that he tried to say something and only didn’t because his captain ordered him not to.
I think a lot about the timeline of EPIC and how entering the lair of Scylla likely wasn’t that long after Puppeteer. Odysseus says they’ve been away from home for “about twelve years or so” and then there’s the obvious discrepancy of Odysseus telling Circe the same thing— explained away by it being a simple mistake on Jorge’s end. If we go by the likelihood that it hadn’t yet been twelve years when they met Circe and that Ody was lying, there’s a rough two-ish year period before Eurylochus actually tells the truth.
To some, this might be indicative of his cowardice, a show that he wouldn’t actually tell the truth and would prefer to hide away his greatest mistake for as long as he can manage.
I disagree. I think this could indicate a couple other things, though; namely that this is proof Eurylochus changed his perspective and decided to listen to Odysseus. Mutiny could only happen because Eurylochus realized his mistake in not believing Odysseus not just once, with the windbag, but twice when Odysseus went to save their men on Circe’s island. Three strikes, you’re out and Eurylochus is not that kind of man— side note: it isn’t hypocritical to change your viewpoint and then criticize someone for adopting your old one btw, it’s just how people function.
Different Beast does imply this a bit, but I think the fact that Eurylochus waited so long to tell Odysseus about the windbag is much more blatant. After all, Odysseus told him to wait, and he did. To me, it seems like Eurylochus read between the lines of Ody’s order (go make sure the island is secure, there’s only so much left we can endure) and took it to mean “wait to tell me when things have settled and we aren’t on the brink of dying”.
Which leads to the second implication, why did Eurylochus choose this moment? Obviously, he didn’t know the nature of Scylla or the danger that they were in, but what about this moment in particular left Eurylochus feeling secure enough to tell Odysseus? Well, the obvious answer is the ruthlessness Odysseus showed in Different Beast showing that they’ve reached that point of power and being able to defend themselves even from monsters that have slain so many sailors.
But another option could be the idea that Scylla was their “last stop” before going home. It’s a bit unclear if this remains true in EPIC, but in the Odyssey, Scylla and Charybdis are right next to each other and the trick is that you have to pick your poison— do you want to die to the whirlpool monster or the six-headed one? What is clear in EPIC is that Ithaca is just past Charybdis, meaning that Scylla, in theory, could’ve been their final stop before reaching Ithaca had Mutiny not happened. There is a very real possibility that they might not have gone to the first island they found if Odysseus hadn’t been knocked unconscious. They still might have just because they were hungry, but it can be difficult to tell which is fate and which is the result of man’s actions.
Either way, I think that a lot of people tend to gloss over the fact that it’s very apparent Eurylochus was going to tell Odysseus what happened as soon as he could and only didn’t because Odysseus told him to wait. It’s a very interesting aspect of his character to me and I think it reveals a lot in terms of his character motivations and how it contrasts to Odysseus’ perception of him throughout the show.
ai communists piss me off so much because like. they will go "the idea of corporations having the same rights as people is bad, and the copyright system is used to abuse artists" and i'll go "YEAH! and well it's not that simple i almost went into copyright law but YEAH!" and then they'll go "so actually me using an ai art generator is communist and if you hate it you're actually oppressing everyone alive ever, you are petit-bourgoise, and if you're mad about art being stolen to use it you just support corporations". and it's like... no.... that's not what those words mean...
Well, I can follow the logic. If you say you want a revolution, then the people who would protect the old ways of living are necessarily your enemies. And some people really do react to genAI by asking for more restrictive copyright, so it becomes easy and convenient to slot every dissenter into that dangerous category. I can empathize that most people involved in the discourse are just repeating stuff mindlessly, and it's exhausting to sort through.
But then the fact that UBI isn't even a conversation in most governments becomes a chafe point. If you set out to paint artists as traitors for being defensive of their $40 commission economy, what exactly do you want them to do, materially? It works the same way as making abortion illegal before addressing the issues of wages, maternity leave, childcare or education. I don't see the makings of a better world on the horizon any time soon. So why is it wrong to be distrustful?
They seem out-of-touch. Which isn't shocking imo, because I know of a lot of internet communists who persist without having a career to defend.
Then there's the matter of "everyone is already tired and helpless and lonely, so what's the further harm in giving the option to replace effort and thought and friendship with a company-owned, automated maybe-accurate yes-man mommy therapist?" as if that question doesn't already have answers freely available.
I don't think it's a coincidence that most Tumblr users are childless, and that there's a lot of intersection between genAI communism and self-infantilization. I think the appeal of Free Stuff, even with a horrible societal catch, will always go over well with people who see themselves as central and needing extended mothering.
But yeah. As far as I can tell, the important thing isn't making life materially better NOW, it's in fighting over exactly which way corporations should be able to control us: Copyright, or increasing reliance on a brain with opaque intentions?
And they were Neighbors Pt.1
A/N: In this Robby is 46 about to turn 47 since honestly he looks a little too good imo to be over 50. This is also going to eventually get real smut heavy as they develop their situationship.
{Master List}
Next
Warnings: 18+ MDNI, eventual smut, angst, lots of flirty behavior
If you had asked Robby what would’ve come of him taking up his neighbor on having some baked goods over coffee he would’ve said nothing would come of it besides maybe some friendship. That was 3 months ago, now? Now he’d tell you he wasn’t expecting for it to turn into a rather interesting situationship with someone seventeen years his junior.
3 months ago
Trudging down the hall to his apartment Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch wanted nothing more than to lay down on his couch and try to take a much earned nap. The day had been crazy with an overflowing waiting room, two separate drug overdoses, and hospital administration breathing down his neck. What was supposed to be a simple overnight 12 hour shift turned into 16 hours when victims in a massive car wreck were brought in. Sometimes he wondered why he truly stayed in the profession, between all the death and chaos it was harder to remember why this had been his passion.
Robby was almost to his apartment not paying attention when all of a sudden he collided with another person. Catching them before they could fall he began to apologize.
“Shit i am so sorry,” He began. “Are you ok? I wasn’t paying much attention and didn’t see you there.” The woman he had collided with merely laughed and shook her hair out of her face. Stepping back she smiled up at him.
“You’re good dude, don't sweat it. Truthfully I wasn't paying attention either,” She chuckled. Robby also chuckled for a moment before taking a moment to study the woman in front of him. She was a tiny thing standing no taller than maybe 5’4. He could see tattoos peeking out from beneath her long sleeve top and a lip ring glinted from the middle of her bottom lip. Her dark brown eyes were framed by purple and blue bangs that matched the rest of her hair.
“I’m Robby by the way,” Robby said. Sticking out her hand to shake his, she smiled up at him.
“I’m Delilah, I just moved into apartment 250.” Now it made sense why he had never seen her before. Apartment 250 was right next to his and had remained vacant for a few months now while the landlord was conducting repairs.
“Wonderful to meet you Delilah, I live at 260 right next to you. I promise i won’t throw any crazy parties past 10pm,” Delilah laughed and wrinkled her nose.
“You better keep to that sir, cause ill call the police at 10:01 exactly,” She joked. “Are you in the medical field?”
“I work at the ER, how’d you know?” Robby asked. Pointing at his hoodie with the hospital's logo Delilah shrugged.
“Lucky guess, I was gonna say if you have a particularly rough shift you’re more than welcome to drop by for some muffins and coffee.” She offered. Slightly thrown by the offer Robby didn’t know what to say for a moment. When that moment stretched a little too long and he remembered normal people would usually respond by now he almost tripped over his words.
“That sounds fantastic, It’s a date.” He immediately kicked himself for his choice of words. Delilah didn’t seem to notice or mind his answer.
“Sounds great to me. I gotta get going, see you later Robby!” With that she was brushing past him toward the elevator.
It took Robby a moment to gather his thoughts enough to remember that he needed to go take a shower and attempt to sleep. Once in his apartment he sunk down onto the couch rubbing his hands down his face. God he was tired, maybe he could close his eyes and rest for just a moment.
Delilah hummed softly as she unpacked the groceries into her new kitchen. It hadn’t been an easy decision to move out to Pittsburgh but considering the pay raise she got for being able to go into her works office once a week definitely made it better. Her neighbor being a rather attractive older man also helped. From the quick meeting in the hallway she noticed he didn’t have a wedding band or a tan line from one, which if he worked in a hospital didn’t mean much. Breaking her train of thought her phone buzzed, with an incoming call from her grandmother.
Chatting with her grandma helped the time pass as she got settled and unpacked before she took a break to sit on her balcony and scroll through social media. Seeing that it was almost 6pm she decided to call her friend back and let her know how the unpacking was going.
Cherry answered her phone on the 3rd ring with a loud squeal.
“Girl its about fucking time you called me, I was starting to think you got kidnapped or something.” Delilah laughed, settling back into her patio chair.
“Sorry Cherry, it's been a crazy hectic day getting moved in and meeting the neighbors.” Delilah apologized. Cherry had been one of her lifetime friends so they rarely went longer than a few hours without talking.
“Oh, meeting the neighbors? Any hot guys or ladies to catch your interest.” Cherry’s words held a hidden question as they usually did. Meaning ‘did you find anyone worth climbing into bed with’.
“Well I met the neighbor directly across from me who was a rather stern old woman. She didn’t seem pleased by my hair or tattoos,” Cherry laughed on the other end of the phone before Delilah continued. “And I met the neighbor directly next to me who’s a little older but still really cute.”
“Is he single?” Cherry cut Delilah off before she could continue her thought.
“Woman, how the hell would I know if he’s single? We talked for a minute max, the most I got out of the conversation was that he works at the local trauma center.” Delilah sighed.
“Come on, how are you gonna find someone to shake the sheets with if you don’t ask the important questions. Like what's your shoe size and are you into kinky shit?” With that Delilah lost the small amount of composure she had. She laughed so hard she almost toppled out of her chair. Her friend was a nut but she had good intentions. Most of the time.
As Delilah chatted with Cherry she failed to notice the open window near her patio, leading to her neighbors apartment.
