Season 4 and 5 made it just so difficult to truly believe that Marinette really loves her Kitty. The Fandom and show can scream about vague soft eyes and "she loves her kitty so muuuuuuch! <3" however they want, but it says alot about Marinette's character that this vague "I love my kitty" never really gets any more specific.

Saying "I like you / I want you around" doesn't mean anything whne the actions themselves paint the picture of her basically taking Cat Noir for granted and not thinking a single second about his actual well being or his perspective in any of this.

It's like in Glaciator 2 where a good part of the episode Marinette spends either screaming at Cat, manhandling him however she pleases and even invalidating any of his emotions by screaming in his face that HIS emotions don't matter in any of this, this is about HER and her only when she used him not knowing Marinette is Ladybug against him by secretly forcing him to practice with her her confession for Adrien.

She's literally screaming at him that his emotions are irrelevant to her. She just wants him to do whatever she wants and however she wants it bc apparently thats the only way she can stand being around him. And that she got in season 5, how Lovely.

And then later when Cat voices that he thinks Ladybug can't stand him anymore because she screams at him and gets seriously physical Marinette is like "No, no, that doesn't mean she hates you <3"

When, like, yes Marinette. Under anything resembling to normal morality you constantly reducing him to a rag doll, screaming, insulting, replacing him, leaving him behind on the battle field for your own and your friends' benefit and brushing him off would be a perfectly reasonable thing for another person to view as a bad thing. Only YOU would demand of someone to view that as unparalleled depictions of fondness, and that hasn't changed much by Elation.

Her ignoring his discomfort in the kissing scene (closing her eyes again) and then almost turning into Cat's enemy for daring to tell her "no" one time is one unnerving sight to behold. She basically immediately went back to season 4 mode the moment she didn't get what she wanted. I don't even want to imagine what she would have done to him by impulse if that moment had happened in Ladynoir (I hate how CONSISTENT this is...)

and even by the end of the episode she's still only asking him to validate her when he brings her back.

And well, then she leaves.

It's difficult to actually believe that Marinette really values Cat Noir alot. It feels much more like she values and likes how little genuine efforts she has to make in their dynamics to reach a normal standard, and that he's just the most convenient person for her regarding any kind of ugly dirty work or her worst tendencies not coming with regular circumstances. So of course she would like that.

If I had an anger problem, I would probably like the person too who had to learn from me that that's "perfectly reasonable behavior" they should view as GOOD in a dynamic bc i like using them as rag doll, punching bag and tool.

But just because I personally would find comfort in a person accepting that I can do that to them as my way of "showing affection" doesn't it mean that that's a good thing to make soft eyes about.

But the show is not GIVING us much more to work with. Marinette only on rare occasions voices anything she even likes about him. It goes mostly unsaid so you can claim whatever you want about her feelings for him.

She likes that he's funny, only that the show isn't showing that alot. If at all. Marinette telling Alya in Hack-San to laugh at his jokes because he likes taht is kinda out of left field because Marinette herself honestly doesn't do it alot. The normal reaction is her being annoyed, shutting him up and even insulting him, down to any kind of "slapstick".

And the most I can remember her having SAID about being in love with him in season 5 was being thirsty about how hot he is. I don't wanna be mean but no wonder Alya basically disregarded Marinette's crush. It's not like she ever named anything serious, and tahts....honestly awful.

With Adrien as Cat Noir there was NEVER a question if he values her for more than her being pretty. He loves her brilliant mind, her determination, her drive to help people. Him complimenting her for being pretty was just the cherry on top.

But only towards Joan of Arc did she mention that she likes his loyalty, but that got ruined by her straight up AGREEING with her whne she insulted Cat and the "loyal" part was only to save her own face. She literally agreed with someone insulting Cat right in front of him and only said "yeah, but he's LOYAL" which of course made him insecure. He couldn't see Joan of Arc, how many people are there and what the insult was Ladybug just agreed with. He can't defend himself and saw that Ladybug literally WON'T.

So which one is it, Marinette? Is he hot or a runt who's lucky he's loyal? Why was Joan's opinion of you the whole episode the only thing you actually cared about to the point where you were fine with throwing the person you love oh so much to the dogs again? And Cat looking bad and humiliated again was barely an afterthought to you, as long as it wasn't YOU?

If she actually loves and value him then why is she still treating him as if he merely spawns into existence for akumas or her entertainment and benefit as her care taker? Why isn't Marinette trying to make up for how she used her civilian side to make him do whatever she wants several times by now, as if she never even conciders how this will look like once they reveal (I would loose sleep if I did that to a person!)?

Why was she still perfectly fine with him being completely isolated and having no one in a case of emergency, meaning she always continued letting him run the risk of ending up the way he did in the season 5 finale? Cat being found as a civilian by Hawkmoth was from day 1 one of the most obvious things that could happen and even after 2 what if episodes this fate of his was never actually avoided, because Marinette always just prioritized getting HERSELF out of the equation more than him truly being safe.

That's a risk she was apparently from start til the end perfectly willing to take.

5 entire seasons and the only safety thing she cared about in their dynamic is that if he gets caught and is at the villain's mercy, he does so as quietly as possible so she isn't bothered by it and can close her eyes, cover her ears and go "Lalala".

If Marinette in any of these 5 seasons thought Cat deserved help too than she sure never acted like it, and in fact demanded the complete opposite for her own comfort.

How am I supposed to believe that Marinette loves and values Cat Noir as a person when non of that or his entire personhood goes beyond what little she wants for her own comfort? If you love a person you would actually want them save and not remain in harms way but accept that you shouldn't be asked to care about that? Or remain completely isolated in the dangerous lives you lead without being allowed to ask muvb of anything from you support wise?

Or constantly ditched on the battle field, being done who knows what to so YOU and your friends are fine while you execute the actual plan with the others.

You would ask questions if they're okay and if they need help too, and not just take any half an indicator your being given to write off any concern because you apparently don't actually wanna think about any of that.

You would actually think about them in any decision you make because this is not just about you and their well being should mean something to you. You would tell them things so you don't risk them getting hurt by having to find out themselves the worst way (and here leading to akumatizations).

You would let them made their own choices, have agency and not just when you're forced to. You wouldn't casually execute a plan to trick them into revealing their important secret identitiy to two people without their consent or knowledge, and ESPECIALLY not when the god damn angry authority figure, who already doesn't lie your partner, would fucking use it to get rid of them behind YOUR BACK TOO.

You wouldn't want physical harm being done to them instead of even being a main source of it, and never taking accountability for that while demanding to never get touched and spoken to in a single wrong way. You wouldn't want that they accept that you don't owe them anything as their LEADER but they owe you EVERYTHING because you said so and can't handle anything else in a "partnership".

(Only to feel sorry about it for 2 minutes when you loose everyone else but, well, not really I guess? Or else she would have tried making up for it in season 5 more than just surface level stuff that was once again mostly for HER benefit anyway. But more than that never happened)

You wouldn't want to think they're stupid for not thinking like you and draw the line at any "back talking" you're being given bc you apparently concider anything else but absolut obedience and blind faith as your little puppet as you being "disrespected". So they must walk around you like on eggshells and only talk in soft compliments and supportive words cause who knows how you would react otherwise?

Dude, no wonder Ladynoir is fucking dead. Good for Adrien, and I hate that we've come THIS far. Such a thing is one of the last things I ever wanted to say when I started watching the show. Now I can't be angry taht Ladynoir is fucking dead and Cat Noir didn't made it out of the partnership for the finale, because wtf else was this supposed to result in??

I just cannot fathom the type of "Love" and fondness Marinette supposedly has for Cat Noir. Whatever fondness she feels for him gets drowned out by other 20 red flags about her not actual treating him like a real person.

And man, I HATE that...

Yeah, literally. This is probably harsher than what I think, but it's more or less my thoughts on the matter.

Hoffheight headcanons?

hoffheight my beloved.... i will preface this by saying that i don't think hoffman is capable of something even remotely resembling a healthy relationship, so that definitely applies to any relationship that he'd have with adam.

not sure if my thoughts are what one would count as headcanons because i don't typically have like. singular, overarching thoughts on them that would be consistent between aus but i will absolutely ramble about them for a bit lmao.

my personal fave flavor of hoffheight is ft. apprentice adam. really really like the idea of adam being recruited against his will and sort of scrambling for any semblance of stability in his new very unstable life. amanda is standoffish and lawrence is recovering from their time in the bathroom trap + dealing with a surely impending divorce, and he most definitely avoids john. and then there's hoffman, who's scary and intimidating and always looks at adam like he's picking him apart piece by piece with just his eyes. which, isn't too far from the truth. hoffman probably wouldn't like him at first, in the conventional way, but he'd definitely be interested in him. wants to sink his teeth in him like a dog to a rabbit. wants to squeeze him until he pops. for him, it's the closest thing that comes to a crush. wherever adam is, hoffman is not too far behind. always there, always watching him, always fucking with him. maybe hoffman's projecting some latent feelings from strahm onto him, trying to push adam into biting back.

it ends up in them fucking, because adam is lonely and hoffman is attractive in his eyes, and because hoffman is lonely too even if he doesn't realize or want to admit it. they fuck, and i think hoffman becomes super possessive over him after that. doesn't really like amanda hanging around him and sure as shit doesn't want lawrence around him either. and adam sort of revels in it, because after being left in the bathroom and coming so close to dying, it feels so good to have someone always touching him, always there. someone who always wants him because he's never felt very wanted before, even if that someone wants him enough to eat him up.

that being said, i think adam could maybe round hoffman off a little bit. round out his sharpest edges just the tiniest bit. i can see them having some soft moments in between everything else. hoffman laying ontop of adam after they've had sex, a soothing, heavy weight, letting himself be vulnerable for just a moment with his face buried in the crook of adam's neck, adam's fingers carding through his hair and scratching at his nape. his humor would be good for hoffman too, even if it's annoying more times than it's funny. angelina would have liked adam, he finds himself thinking, and maybe it makes him more fond of adam in between his desire to keep him to himself.

the both of them absolutely love their size difference. adam loves how big hoffman is, how strong he is. how he can pick adam up with ease and toss him around, how he can cover every inch of adam's body when he lays on him, nice and heavy, how he could probably break adam in half if he wanted to. loves the fat on his belly and sides too tbh. and i think adam probably isn't hoffman's usual type, strahm and rigg being far more what he's usually interested in, men that can handle his rough handling with ease and then give it back in stride. men he can really sink his teeth into. but despite that, i think he'd like just how small adam is compared to him, likes how adam never complains when he's too rough or even asks for more, even if sometimes he thinks he might break adam's bones with how rough he's being

Also regarding fanon Tim it is really pity that a lot of fans and even writers regard Tim as a mini-Bruce when i feel he should be opposite especially when it comes to their social circle. Like Tim is fascinating to me because he looked at the dark and gloom and isolation of both Gotham and Bruce and went, "It deserves to be saved. I will save it and i'll do it without it destroying me" (he failed but he tried, god did he try).

If Bruce Wayne is a mask for Batman then Robin is a mask for Tim Drake.

If Bruce is actively isolating himself then Tim is actively seeking people out (even if it sometimes means slight stalking and casual breaking and entering, which, Tim, buddy).

When his parents died Bruce buried the child he was and dedicated his life to make sure something like this would never happen to anyone else and when Jason he almost went and broke his one rule. When everyone in Tim's life was dead or dying he tried to held onto every little thing that could bring that normalcy back from before everything went to shit, whether it be cloning, trying to find Bruce, or even lazarus pit.

It is why Tim becoming batman always ends horribly, not because Tim is secretly a deranged guy but because becoming batman means affectively killing what makes him Tim Drake. It is also why i think the best ending for him would be retirement, the boy who chose to take up the robin mantle grows up to be the man who chose to give up the mantle (naturally this would take a lot of development since i feel Tim is rather addicted to it but also i think it would be good. I also feel he would still do hero work on side but as a consultant or support)

(I alse feel isolation is a major struggle for both of them. However Bruce embraces it, becomes a part of it, while Tim rejects it, loses to it. A Lonely Place of Dying indeed)

(i am so sorry i feel like i have more generalized both the characters and could be wrong about them since i am still newer to the comics but these are my thoughts from what i have seen so far)

Nah, anon, you're valid. I'm not crazy into Tim and haven't read anything with him yet (though @benbamboozled has convinced me to read Young Justice 98), from what I know of the canon version of Tim, he is very critical of Batman, which you kind of have to be if your goal is to help them (as opposed to enabling someone)

Here we have Tim on Bruce's approach to paranoia and work colleagues:

which will for me always be core part of Tim's characterization. He's very far from the boy who will blindly follow Bruce to get his approval. I think of all the Robins Tim might be the least interested in Bruce's approval. (Modern era Dick is weirdly open about wanting Bruce's approval which I don't like. Nightwing is for me ideally in extreme denial about his and Bruce's interdependance.)

Tim is far too aware of Batman's problems to want to become him. This is the kid that became Robin at Batman's lowest low. He didn't become the sidekick/ward/son of a vigilante who was larger than life, he became the support of a broken down man. It makes sense to have Dick and Jason involuntarily idolize the man, because the Batman they knew was amazing, but the Batman Tim knew? That was a spiralling man.

Which might also be why it bothers so many people that Tim isn't allowed to grow out of the Robin mantle, it feels extremely natural for him to be getting over his original mantle and connection to Batman.

frankly, i think touga is fine with homosexuality of all kinds insofar as it is replicating the dynamics of power and control that he understands all sexual exchange to be. so he’s fine with having Gay Sex with akio because (in his mind) he is accepting his own exploitation to eventually subsume akio’s power (that’s how the world works). and he’s fine having Gay Sex with saionji because it’s a way of having power over saionji (and not because he actually cares about saionji, that would be absurd!). but to him, the thought of nanami being a lesbian (which, imo, she is) and realizing that about herself would lead to her toppling the paradigm that pedestalizes touga as her brother/husband/father/patriarch/god, as her fixation on him is (partially, although not totally) erotic, and maintaining the logic of heterosexuality (patriarchal/biological) is crucial to maintaining her subservient loyalty. so i think in that moment (but also generally) he is specifically attempting to demoralize her to keep her in line, but also because making her feel bad about herself (for things i don’t even think she has yet realized about herself) makes him feel good about himself, if only because hurting nanami is a way of exercising his control over others, and if he can’t control those weaker than him, then what does he have??

km blind date except they were meeting someone else but ended up sitting at the wrong (or right? hehe) table?

have a good night!!

jeongguk glances around the coffee shop, attempting to find the blond head of hair seokjin had told him to look out for. when he'd pointed out that any number of people could be blond and that that was a shit clue to find his blind date, seokjin had narrowed his eyes, very helpfully called him an ungrateful brat and harrumphed away.

now, jeongguk wishes he'd annoyed seokjin a little more and at least gotten a picture of this guy he's supposed to be seeing. jeongguk's not even sure he remembers the name but he blames that on how his brain feels like soup dripping out of his ears. he'd barely gotten out of having to put in another hour of overtime at work, his team lead grumbling about how today's generation simply did not want to work.

jeongguk did agree. he didn't dream of labour.

if he could, he'd lie in bed playing video games or reading manga all day, jerking off in between. the last thing he wants to do is complete financial audits and stare at balance sheets.

he sighs, failing to find anyone blond and decides to just get a drink and find an empty table. hopefully, seokjin had given a better description of jeongguk to whoever he was supposed to meet and they would find him.

as the line shortens, jeongguk notices that the coffee shop has a few tables tucked into the very back of the shop, hidden by some large potted plants. he spots a blond head of hair artfully styled back and parted to the left but the man is looking down at his phone.

jeongguk should really check to see what his date's name is supposed to be and he's just about to pull out his phone to check when the barista calls out a name: "a hot chocolate for jimin!"

the blond head perks up and jeongguk's brain short circuits, leaving behind nothing but white noise because holy shit.

there's no way seokjin knows someone so beautiful. there's no way seokjin hasn't introduced jeongguk to this, this jimin before.

jeongguk is transfixed, watching in wide eyed awe as jimin walks over to the counter to get his drink. he's the most gorgeous person jeongguk has ever seen before: pretty, expressive eyes, a plush mouth, a cute nose, a slim frame hidden under a fluffy green sweater. his nails are painted, silver hoops dangling from his ears, and when he turns around to head back to his table, jeongguk nearly groans outloud at the sight of his round, plump ass.

"uh, are you in line?"

"wha -- ?" jeongguk nearly jumps out of his skin, twisting around to see the person who's spoken to him. he blinks, unsure. is he in line?

the person looks annoyed and jeongguk doesn't have time for this.

he shakes his head and makes a beeline to jimin's table, his palms suddenly sweaty.

jeongguk clears his throat when he's close, catching jimin's attention. he's only just sat down, his drink untouched, and when he looks up at jeongguk, he swears he can hear wedding bells in his head.

"jimin?" jeongguk asks, praying to the universe that this is in fact his date.

"um, yes?" jimin blinks, hesitant but receptive.

jeongguk barrels on. "sorry, i -- i'm your date? our friend -- "

"oh my gosh! you -- i mean hyung said you were handsome but -- i, oh god, please, p-please have a seat!"

jeongguk laughs, the tips of his ears burning at jimin's slip up. he's endeared beyond belief by jimin's flustered chatter. his cheeks are flushed the prettiest shade of pink jeongguk has ever seen in his life and god, he's going to kiss seokjin on the mouth!

he takes the offered seat and grins. "so you think i'm handsome, jimin-ssi?"

jimin, already embarrassed, turns bright red, the blush sinking down down down until it disappears past his sweater's neckline. jeongguk, entirely too pleased, leans forward, resting his arms on the table. "if it makes you feel any better, i forgot where i was when i first spotted you."

"w-what?" jimin's eyes widen, his expression so sweetly innocent that jeongguk nearly groans in arousal.

"just that you're so breathtaking, i think my brain imploded back there. it's a miracle i'm still alive."

"ohmygod," jimin squeaks and jeongguk is so fucking done for, holy shit. how can a person be so cute!?

"sorry, i'm being a lot aren't i?"

"no!" jimin immediately assures, nearly reaching out for jeongguk's arms. he seems to flail for a split second, unsure what to do with himself and barely misses knocking his hot chocolate clean off the table. "i'm just -- usually -- that is, i. this is my first time on a blind date."

"mine, too," jeongguk smiles, wanting to put jimin at ease. he's clearly going to be very fun to tease but jeongguk wants this to go well. he's never wanted something more. "i'm sorry if my teasing was too much."

"you hardly teased me," jimin murmurs, his head ducking shyly. jeongguk squeezes his hands into fists to keep from squealing at how cute jimin is. then he adds, quieter, "thank you for the compliment..."

"jeongguk," he says, a little relieved that jimin hadn't known his name either. that made him feel a little better about his own forgetfulness.

"it's very nice to meet you, jeongguk-ssi," jimin smiles, his eyes turning into little crescents. jeongguk's heart skips a beat at the sight and maybe, just maybe his friends were right about this whole blind dating thing.

all he needed to do was see what was out there and what was out there was this stunning angel.

it's not until jeongguk gets home from the best date of his life, busy staring at the selfie jimin sent him so he could set it as jimin's profile picture in his contacts that seokjin shoots him a text demanding why jeongguk bailed on his date.

what do you mean bailed?
