1. Alfred never actually planned on starting a war, he enjoyed making lives miserable and initially he only planned to kill the so-called Mixed breed mongrel, Henry when the Fat Controller gave the latter the number three, but Crovan stopped him from scrapping Henry and ended up getting killed by Alfred in the process.

2. The other Sodor Spirits always knew there’s something off about Alfred. Especially after he mocked and laughed at Gordon’s anguish over his original crew being killed in a monster attack, his horrific bullying and abuse towards Henry and utter disrespect and harassment towards Edward. Crovan however considered himself his friend due to Alfred brainwashing him. But after coming to Sodor and accepting the way of life on the island and becoming one of the Sodor Spirits, he began to realise Alfred has something incredibly ugly he’s planning and the war came to a head when Alfred tried to murder Henry, making Crovan go against his former friend in an attempt to protect his former bullying victim and the island he now considers his home, only to end up getting scrapped in the end by Alfred which marked the start of the Spirit War.

3. After Crovan was killed. Alfred went into hiding from the others and his used his unique magic to fight against the others. (Alfred is able to project his consciousness into any bodies of earth and create and control constructs of his own from a far distance.). But Alfred was too arrogant to use a weapon of his own when he was finally backed into a corner and tore Thomas’s physical form into half with his bare hands.

What strikes me about Rebels isn't that every single crew member on the Ghost has trauma associated with their family of origin. Traumatic backstories are a dime a dozen. What's different about Rebels is that every single crew member finds some measure of catharsis and reconciliation, too.

Hera and her father are at odds because he prioritizes Free Ryloth, while she ran away to join the wider rebellion--but they make up, and learn to work together.

Kanan loses the Jedi to Order 66--but over the course of the show he learns they're not all lost, and that the survivors believe he's worthy of knighthood.

Zeb believes his entire species is gone--but he finds them, and a home world, again.

Sabine is rejected by her family for speaking out against the Empire--and then convinces them to turn against the Empire in the end.

And Ezra may never see his parents in life--but he's able to speak to them one last time, and learn in turn that they were proud of him.

Yeah, it's a show about found family--but it's a show about family of origin, too. One doesn't replace the other; it complements it. And it's the crew working together that helps every one of them reconnect the bonds that are broken.

Vault of Knowledge got me really sad while seeing spirit’s memories but these two in particular just made me so so sad.

And others in that place, I really loved their backstories and how they all became friends even after losing important people.

They found light within each other and I think it’s so beautiful.
