Last weekend I wanted to do a rebuild of an older set from my archives, United Nations Headquarters 21018 from the Architecture theme. I don’t ever deconstruct my sets so I had to do a good bit of work disassembling only to later rebuild it at my best friends house while we watched Seinfeld. It’s probably my favorite of the architecture series I own. I love the translucent blue and mid century, international style. The buckling is a favorite of mine. Great build too—lots of ingenious assembly to create the low-level buildings.

🇺🇳🇵🇸🇮🇱🚨 ⚠️UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY APPROVES RESOLUTION DEMANDING CEASEFIRE IN GAZA⚠️

The United Nations General Assembly approved a resolution today demanding an "immediate humanitarian ceasefire" in the Gaza Strip.

The resolution passed with resounding support, with 153 Nations voting in favor, 10 nations voting against, and 23 abstentions.

The resolution demands an "immediate humanitarian ceasefire", the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages and "ensuring humanitarian access", according to the United Nations General Assembly newsroom.

The resolution also reiterated the General Assembly's demand that all parties comply with their obligations under International Law, including Humanitarian Law, "notably with regard to the protection of civilians."

According to the UN newsroom, prior to the ceasefire resolution vote, two amendments making specific reference to Hamas were voted down by the Assembly.

Ecologies of collapse in Palestine 🇵🇸 

I don’t think we can solve the climate crisis if we can’t even decide whether or not Palestinians are going through a genocide. 

I’m afraid the [dominant] environmental movement has failed to clearly define what it means to liberate the world from an oppressive system. Removing a part of the apparatus is not systemic change. 

People have turned their backs on the United Nations 🇺🇳 for trying to call attention to the several human rights violations happening and that Israel’s government must be held accountable. Brazil 🇧🇷 government has named the incident one of the world's most terrible war crimes. Turkey 🇹🇷 has filed a lawsuit in international courts to hold the war criminal accountable. France 🇫🇷 has called for a ceasefire. None of these governments are innocent either, but it begs the question, why can't our governments take a stance against genocide?

Despite the rise of Islamophobia and antisemitism, we must continue to fight alongside our Muslim & Jewish communities, calling for an end to genocide. Critiquing an oppressive government should not be seen as antisemitic. Consuming ourselves to victimhood and weaponizing tears over the bloodshed of bodies blown up is a tool of the oppressor. A ceasefire includes the return of hostages. Validation of the count of death in Israelíes is also recognized. I don’t think many of the people asking for Free Palestine are not saying that both sides can’t grieve, but when it comes to weaponizing grief and tears to prohibit critiquing of a government, that is the issue. Media platforms are heavily censoring accounts while also perpetuating misinformation. When it comes to holding the government accountable, it seems that it can never be the case because one’s country is purely ethical and just does not exist where the majority of oppressive governments have conducted genocide, violence, and displacement under business. 

Many of you were never on the same page with liberating the world nor my work. Many of you saw Indigenous communities as museums for your curiosity and inspiration for your spiritual journeys to repackage to people who lack depth in their relationship with the land. Many of you committed to Black Lives Matter because you extracted from Black culture for your benefit and recognized you weren’t as racist as your neighbor or friend. Many of you committed to LGBTQ+ movements only to know that your rainbow started in the US and ended in the US, but anything deemed othering is unattractive. Many of you became feminist under the guise of equality but for only those who looked like you. 

But may we also have grace for those who are scared to speak up because their employers, friends, or opportunities are at the line, which could further cause them to be deprived in an economic system where people choose their ability to live and die. I’m not angry at you, nor do I know your situation, but I know my situation has allowed me to say I’ve already lost things I thought I wanted, but I’m still alive. Isn’t being alive the most sacred thing to ourselves that we don’t wish to be taken?  It wasn’t a billionaire, corporation, or institution that kept me grounded and alive. It was my community that made sure I survived.

Remember, we can solve the climate crisis by bringing awareness to the horrors unfolding in Gaza.

— British Artist Yusuf Islam, Formerly Known as Cat Stevens, posted on X calling for Israel to be held to account. In his post, he said "I don't think we can ever look at Israel the same again. People have finally woken up to the long years of injustice inflicted upon the Palestinian people."

Stevens adds that the arrival of social media has countered reliance on the media for learning about the plight of Palestinian people.

On Monday morning, Israeli forces withdrew from Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital after a two-week siege. The entire medical complex was left in ruins with bodies found scattered in the vicinity.

— A Norwegian Doctor Who Previously Volunteered in Gaza shared scenes from the aftermath of the Israeli army's siege on al-Shifa Hospital and condemned the assault.

"The name Shifa meaning 'The House of Healing'; now turned into a 'House of Death' by Israel and the US, burnt, totally destroyed to rubble and turned into a graveyard of patients, medical staff, relatives and refugees," wrote Dr Mads Gilbert in a post on X.

Earlier on Monday, Israeli forces withdrew from the hospital after a two-week siege, leaving in its wake destroyed buildings and piles of dead bodies.

Military officials said that its forces killed 200 people and arrested 900 during its 15-day military assault on the hospital. Gaza's civil defence put the figure of those killed at around 300. The army said it conducted its raid without harming civilians and medical personnel, but medical organisations and eyewitnesses have strongly rejected the claim.

The World Health Organization said at least 21 patients died during the siege. Survivors told Middle East Eye that scores of civilians were killed during the fortnight-long siege. Gaza's civil defence arrived at the hospital on Monday to begin a recovery operation following Israel's withdrawal.

Outside in the courtyard, people dug graves to bury those killed whose bodies were left to rot over the past two weeks. Wafa news agency reported that a temporary cemetery that had been set up in al-Shifa was dug up by Israeli forces, with bodies exhumed and dumped in different areas of the hospital.

— Isra-heili Prime Minister Benjamin 🐖 Satan-Yahu called on the Knesset to pass the so-called Al Jazeera law this evening, which would allow the government to shut down foreign news networks operating in Israel.

The law would allow the prime minister and the minister of communications to order the closure of foreign networks in Israel and confiscate their equipment if they believe they pose "an actual harm to the state's security".

Netanyahu promised to "immediately act to close Al Jazeera" after the law passes.

The prime minister's Likud party said that he spoke with coalition whip Ofir Katz to ask him to ensure the bill's passing through second and third readings today.

— The Israeli army announced the death of 20-year-old soldier Nadav Cohen and updated its death toll, saying 600 soldiers have now been killed since the start of the war in Gaza.

Of those 600, 256 have been killed since the beginning of the army's ground invasion.

— A Palestinian Surgeon was among those killed by Israeli forces during its two week raid on al-Shifa Hospital.

Ahmad Maqadmeh was killed during the siege, according to his friend and colleague, British-Palestinian doctor Ghassan Abu Sitta.

"We worked together in the Great Marches of Return and the 2021 war and then this recent war. His dedication was unlike anything I have ever seen. We will never forgive," Abu Sitta wrote on X.

"He spent this war going from Shifa hospital to Al Quds Hospital and when he was free he would join me at Al Ahli. Always dedicated, always wanting to learn.

"He refused to leave the north and kept sending me photos of his surgeries. He leaves behind a wife and baby."

Abu Sitta added that Maqadmeh was a former recipient of the UK's Royal College of Surgeons' humanitarian innovation fellowship.

— Isra-heili Prime Minister Benjamin 🐖 Satan-Yahu will undergo hernia surgery tonight, his office announced.

His hernia was discovered by doctors "during a routine examination".

During the period of surgery, Justice Minister Yariv Levin will serve as acting prime minister.

The timing of Netanyahu's surgery is deemed critical, as families of Israelis held hostage in Gaza are staging a protest outside the Knesset building in Jerusalem, calling for a deal to release their relatives and accusing Netanyahu of deliberately sabotaging efforts to secure an agreement with Hamas.

On Saturday night, thousands of anti-government protesters took to the streets in Tel Aviv, chanting slogans against Netanyahu and calling for the government's resignation and early elections.

— World Health Organisation Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said around 9,000 patients urgently need to be evacuated from Gaza for lifesaving treatment abroad.

These patients are in need of treatment for wounds suffered in Israeli bombing, cancer treatment, kidneys dialysis, and treatments of other chronic conditions, Tedros wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

"ISRAEL" ORDERED TO HALT OPERATIONS IN RAFAH BY ICJ, VOTES TO OPEN RAFAH BORDER CROSSING

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) at the Hague, in the Netherlands, has ordered a halt to "Israel's" military operations in Gaza's southernmost city of Rafah, and to immediately open the Rafah crossing.

By a vote of 13 to 2, the ICJ says that "in view of the worsening conditions of life faced by civilians in the Rafah Governate" the "State of Israel" must "immediately halt its military offensive, and any other action in the Rafah Governate, which may inflict on the Palestinian group in Gaza conditions of life that could bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part."

Further, the Court also orders by a vote of 13 to 2, that the "State of Israel" must also "maintain open the Rafah crossing for unhindered provision at scale of urgently needed basic services and humanitarian assistance."

By another 13 to 2 vote, the ICJ goes on to order the "Israel" to take "effective measures to ensure the unimpeded access to the Gaza Strip of any commission of inquiry, fact-finding mission, or other investigative body mandated" by the United Nations, and to "investigate allegations of genocide."

Lastly, by yet another 13 to 2 vote, the ICJ decided that "Israel" must "submit a report to the Court on all measures taken to give effect to this order," within one month.

We are a community of warriors. We have a voice. You 🫵 think because some of our children cannot speak, 🗣️ we cannot hear 👂 them? That is autism’s weakness. You 🫵 think 💭 that because my child 🧒👦👧 lives behind a wall, I am afraid to knock it down with my bare hands? 🙌 You 🫵 have not properly been introduced to this community of parents 👩👨 and grandparents, 👴👵 of siblings 👧🧒 and friends 👯‍♂️ and schoolteachers 🧑‍🏫👨‍🏫👩‍🏫 and therapists and pediatricians and scientists. 👨‍🔬 👩‍🔬 🧑‍🔬 Autism, if you 🫵 are not scared, 😱 you 🫵should be.
