Okay, honest question, who is Yotsuba?

OH HO HO ANON I AM ALL TOO HAPPY TO EXPLAIN :3

Yotsuba is a character from the greatest manga ever made, Yotsuba&!(or Yotsuba to! it translates weird, most fans just call it Yotsuba) which is a comedy slice-of-life manga about Yotsuba Koiwai, a five year old girl, and her very strange yet wholesome family and friends!

It's from the same mangaka who gave us Azumanga Daioh, though while that manga is told in a four-panel comic style and doesn't really have much of an overarching plot, Youtsuba is done in a traditional manga style and despite also being very episodic there is a bit of a throughline surrounding Youtsuba getting settled into the neighborhood she just moved to, growing up, and eventually, in the later chapters, getting ready to go to school for the first time. Also, there are storylines that take place over multiple chapters as well! Despite the fact that the manga has been releasing since 2003, the chapters are pretty sporadic and the comic has only really covered about one year of the character's lives, but it never really feels slow or aimless. It feels almost...timeless? I guess. It's really nice.

Anyway, the manga is legit one of the most wholesome, funny, heartwarming things I have ever read. Kiyohiko Azuma is a fucking MASTER of comedy(you may have seen screencaps from a Sailor Moon fan comic he made going around on tumblr in which Jupiter accidentally sends Venus shooting across a pool that made me laugh so hard I cried) and he balances it well with lots of slow moments with GORGEOUS artwork where you can really take in the scenery and all of it is seeped in a wonderful nostalgia for childhood that legit makes me super emotional.

I don't think the manga has ever really taken off in terms of popularity, at least not to the degree that it deserves imo, which is likely in part due to the creator being firm about it never getting an anime adaptation and the sporadic release schedule, but it's far from unknown. There's been an official(I think??) score released and plenty of figurines and merch. It's also birthed a lot of memes, and it def has the same issue as One Piece where if you read it and love it you will turn into a walking billboard and try to drag your friends and family in with you. It's just THAT good!

You may have seen art of or people cosplaying Danbo, a "robot" made of old cardboard boxes that Yotsuba adores (Totally a real robot btw, def doesn't have a middle schooler shoved inside there, that would be silly wdym /s)

And you've also probably seen this going around tumblr before (that's Fūka she's my favorite cringe fail daughter I would literally die for her).

Also, I would be doing a disservice if I didn't mention Yanda, who is a friend of Yotsuba's dad and also Yotsuba's nemesis. He's a loser who constantly gets dunked on by a toddler it's fucking hilarious.

But yeah it really is just like, a manga that feels like a hug, or a warm blanket or something, it's so comforting and funny and fantastic, I find myself re-reading it any time life gets to be too hard just bcs it's that good at distracting me and reminding me that live is worth living.

And also given that it's literally my favorite manga, I saved up a bunch of screencaps to use as reaction images after a read one time, and thus now it's my own little joke that if you send me anon hate I'm just gonna send you back a picture of this cutie

You graduated a few years ago, worked some meaningless office jobs at the FBI, and were finally recommended to the BAU. This chapter covers your first day, settling in and figuring out who to trust... but it seems Spencer doesn't trust you.

PART ONE

I arrive at the FBI offices and park my car in my designated spot. I turn off the engine and sit in silence for a moment, feeling a sense of nervousness about what awaits me as I enter the glass doors of the BAU. I adjust my hair in the car mirror, take a deep breath, and step out. As I step out of the car, I feel the frigid Virginia air hit my skin. I look up at the office building, the sun glaring against the windows and into my eyes. I brush out the nonexistent wrinkles from my shirt before walking toward the entrance.

I finally get to the BAU entrance and open the glass doors, the smell of coffee and freshly printed paper filling my lungs. I take a deep, shaky breath and make my way to Hotch's office.

I knock on his door and hear a muffled "Come in" from Hotch. I open the door and smile softly.

"Hi, good morning, Agent Hotchner," I say. "Good morning, Agent y/l/n. I'm glad you made it this morning. As of now, we have no new cases, but it would be helpful if you could help out some other agents with their case files. Just try to get to know everyone today." He gives me a soft smile. "I'll introduce you to everyone." He stands up from his desk and opens the door for me to walk out. Work hasn't officially started yet so everyone is standing around in the kitchenette or nearby. I greet everyone one by one being formal but light hearted, until I got to Penellope.

"Hi!!! We've heard so much about you!" Penelope practically squeals as she brings me into a hug. "All good, of course." Her brightly colored lips turn into an even brighter smile.

"Hi! You must be Penellope. I've heard a lot about you too." I smile back at her.

"Its nice to have some estrogen in this otherwise testosterone filled workplace! Glad to have a gal around." She giggles sweetly.

"I'm so excited to work with you." I grin.

I finish up saying hello to everyone, actually, almost everyone. I make my way over to the tall, nerdy brunette, Dr. Reid.

"Hi, I'm y/n y/l/n." I smile at him, there's something different about him though, those hazel eyes peering down at me, something going on inside of there that I can't quite figure out.

"Hi." His face stays blank and doesn't say anything else. He stares at me for a moment and then hops off the wall he was leaning on and walks away.

I scoff. "Okay.. wow." By what everyone said about Dr. Reid, I would have expected some long complicated conversation about the science of something. I know he's infamous for his long tangents of random information. What did I do to him? Why doesn't he like me?

A couple hours pass as I sit at my desk trying to pass time.

I head to Garcia's office and knock on the door.

"Come in!" A muffled voice says.

I open the door and smile at her "Hey,"

"Hi y/l/n, what can I do for you..? She turns around in her chair.

"Uhm..." I clear my throat. "Do you know if there's a reason Dr. Reid doesn't like me? When I introduced myself he just said hi and walked away." I lean against Garcia's door and cross my arms, waiting for an answer.

"What!? Dr. Pretty Boy doesn't like you? He's probably just a little shy he'll warm up to you." She smiles.

"Yeah, okay." I clear my throat and walk back to my desk. I sit at my desk, feeling slightly dejected after my brief encounter with Dr. Reid. Despite the excitement of starting my new job, his indifference towards me dampened my mood.

I glance over at Spencer's desk, now realizing how close I am with him seated. I let out a deep sigh and lean back into my chair, contemplating how to handle the situation. Just as I'm about to resume working on the case files, Spencer looks over at me, his hazel eyes piercing as he scans over me. The silence hangs heavy in the air the only sound being the soft hum of the office around us. I shift in my chair crossing my legs and leaning on my desk catching him off guard.

He opens his mouth and then stops like he's about to say something. "Why did you join the BAU?" He asks abruptly.

I look at his face and the sudden question, he surprised me. I take a moment before answering, feeling a bit confused.

"Why did I join the BAU?" I echo, the question hanging in the air.

I pause for a moment, my mind wandering. I take a deep breath and then respond.

"I wanted to make a difference," My voice steady but I know his question has a deeper meaning.

This time he scoffs and turns back to work.

Finally the clock strikes 5pm and I pack up to leave.

Aside from each other, obviously, who is your favourite character for Tim and Lucy to each interact with? (So basically, your favourite non-Chenford relationship for each of them — platonic, professional, or otherwise.) And, who is the one character you wish they would each interact with more?

OOOH, SARAH. I do love this so very much.

I'm going to put it under a cut, because it got WAYYYY out of hand

Okay, well, let's start with my girl Lucy, because she deserves the world and all she got last season were multiple kicks in the teeth.

I loved Lucy and Jackson. I loved Lucy and Andersen. Both of them are gone, and who knows where Tamara will be this season, given that we have to make time FOR MONICA I GUESS, or whatever. Melissa herself said at the virtual con last weekend that she'd like to see more of Lucy with Grey - a mentor that comes without romantic entanglement - and I have to say, I loved the two of them together this season too.

Buuuuuuut... I would actually very very very much love to see Lucy spend some time with... GENNY. They got along so well, even besides the dark, mopey cloud that was moody Tim Bradford throughout their introduction arc, and I would love to see how that relationship developed once Genny officially knew about their relationship. I also feel like (having been the sister figure on the other side of a messsy breakup) those bonds can be very strong between women, and the man doesn't always figure into it once he's gone, even if he is your brother.

Also - this side eye I MEANNNNNN

Tim is a little bit more difficult. I love him with Genny too, obviously, but I am often very distracted by his face and not paying close enough attention to his interactions.

I love him with Angela, I do. And we got a good dose of that in S6, which is the only reason she doesn't make this list. I love him with Nyla, especially when they talk about Lucy (not sure what sort of Bechdel test this encroaches on) because having my two favourite grumps fight over their favourite sparkling little pixie is just delicious. And I love him with Grey, because - although he is still a superior and a mentor figure - over the years Tim has come to be more of an equal to the Watch Commander. And I LOVE that growth for him. I think part of it is Eric and Richard’s fantastic friendship shining through, but I’ll take everything I can get.

Honestly - I’m going to go with a cliche here and say I would like to have seen more of Tim with Tamara. I went sorta deep into their relationship when I wrote Saudade Season, and although I’m not fully on board with the whole Tamara-is-Chenford’s-daughter vibe, I do think they have an EERIE amount in common, and their connection to Lucy only solidifies that. Their banter back and forth when they did interact was always charming (I maintain that Tamara’s ‘Officer Zaddy’ quote was 90% directed at Lucy and only 10% girlcrush because, ewy) and they both have such similar loss and hurt in their childhoods and backgrounds that I think they are good for each other.

I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this on tumblr (you’re NOT allowed say it on twitter), but I’m holding off on my opinions of the ‘new rookies’ until S7 airs. I don’t know the actors, and they seem simply lovely, but I’m not going to dive off a cliff for them yet. So, for now, unless it leads to more chenford interaction, I’m not interested in adding MORE extra character backstories to The Monica Show, I mean The Rookie, sorry. 👀

And finally, in case I haven’t already entirely succeeded in avoiding your limit of 2/4 additional characters, I would have LOOOOOVED to see Chenford interact more with Rosalind. Sure, she could have whatever weird fascination she had with Nolan as a side gig, but I can’t believe that this woman was supposedly so calculating and clever that she evaded the entire LAPD, and then thought that killing Chris-motherfucking-dry-wipe-Sanford would be adequate vengeance on Lucy for escaping her clutches.

I know we were limited with the sad passing of Annie Wersching, and it is a terrible loss to her family (and the film world in general), but that bitch TOTALLY clocked that there was something going on between Tim and Lucy, and the only reason she couldn’t gain her proper revenge is because they were cavorting in the gangsters private airplane bathroom at 30,000 feet.

My Aroace Journey

Teacher during Sex Ed: You'll all feel sexual attraction at some point. Me, years later, still waiting and panicking: Where is it? *manic chuckle* Wh... Where the hell is it...??

I've only really celebrated Valentine's Day once (aside from exchanging cards with my class in elementary school), so I'll contribute to the aromantic awareness that's been trending on Tumblr by sharing my experience of how I found out I'm aroace.

I first heard of the term "asexual" in an LGBTQ context in September or October of 2020 because of Alastor's sexuality being officially confirmed. "Very interesting! Can't be me," I thought.

I got into researching and asking reddit anyway. I think I determined that I'm ace later that year in October.

In April of 2021, the thought of me possibly being aromantic as well struck me. I hated that thought, telling myself, "I've already had one thing taken away; why do I have to lack something else?!"

(I want to clarify that lacking sexual and romantic attraction doesn't make someone any less of a person.)

Once I accepted that I'd probably never fall in love, I ironically got into a romantic relationship in July and determined that I'm demiromantic. During that relationship, I experienced waking up looking forward to messaging them each day, seeing the world in more saturated colours, and even properly enjoyed my first Valentine's Day date. I'm forever grateful for all of that.

The relationship lasted a little more than a year before I fell out of love (that doesn't mean I don't still love them; I'm just not in love anymore). A year after the breakup, a friend suggested that I could be cupioromantic. I joined the subreddit and described my situation, to which someone recommended I check out r/lithromantic.

I spent a long time feeling like I'd gotten robbed of something again ("Why can I even fall in love if that's going to be taken away after it's returned?"), but I eventually accepted my orientation despite still getting sad about it every now and then.

I speculated on another part of my identity from January to February of 2024. I'm not comfortable saying what it is yet, but I will say that a big part of that ordeal was spent worrying about how my identity would affect other people, which is ridiculous; your identity is part of you; not anyone else.

I only told two people because I felt disgusting for the thought even having crossed my mind randomly. I don't know why, since I'll always speak in favor of people who identify that way. But I still felt that way, no matter how much I reassured myself. No matter how much those two friends reassured me.

I came to the conclusion that it doesn't apply to me (though I'm not putting it completely off the table).

That brings us to now. I'm exhausted. (^ ^ ;) I'll end this off with some memes I saved up while I was still in the closet. Happy Valentine's Day!

I remember that line from the end of the bullet-in-butt date chapter, and I gotta admit I don't really like it... but the way Eguchi delivers it makes me think he's not like "Women amirite" but more like "All my years of training did not prepare me for how people are like in their day to day lives because spy training has skewed my perception of day to day 'normal'" and that's perfectly valid.

But also what the fuck is happening here. What is that cat. Why is Yor about to Thorn-Princess it. What.

Gotta admit, from a few tidbits here and there it looks like Twilight is finally gaining some more understanding of himself and his situation... but the way he says that just makes me think that realization makes him more concerned than anything else.

So I can say with conviction this did fix something in me. Though I guess the first episode will be the bullet-in-butt date, so it will take me another week to go into new territory. But! Bullet-in-butt date in 12 days! And new cool stuff to look for later on! I'm so happy!

I'll give some updates then so people know we're not just slackin', haha;;

This past week we've been hella busy with church, school, trying out programs, still figuring out the whole learning to drive thing, stuff with disability, etc... but especially with Valentine's Day & Moose's birthday.

CJ came up to visit which was really special & we got to eat out & get boba all together which was super nice as he doesn't live too close by ever since we moved a few years back.

I recently got most of my m3dz figured out so I might be able to start hrt within the next year, & it sounds like the date has been set for CJ & I to get married this April 29th!

On top of all this we recently found out that a couple other plans have been thrown into the mix:

Our folks are planning to head out for a week a few states away to spend time with family & celebrate our twin cousins' birthday & then they'll be goin to Medieval Times for Moose's birthday possibly with another friend or cousin.

My mom & I are gonna try & see a show with CJ & his mom if they're able to come for my 21st birthday (Which is March 13th!) & CJ's birthday is at the start of April.

Right before our wedding is my dad's birthday & we're gonna see another live performance in another state, & then right afterwards a few days later is gonna be the wedding.

We're just gonna make it small & Soukoku themed, but maybe years later from now when we're livin' alone & financially stable we might do a bigger more official wedding. We'll renew our vows, maybe have custom made suits, special stuff like that.

Somethin' we're hopin' to do is for the small one we might make custom Lego Minifigures to be in front of/above the cake & then if we save up... the four-six hundred bucks... we wanna get the Soukoku "wedding" figurines that came out a bit ago.

It's a dream.

Anyways, as for the actual project!

I'm still working on the script when I have time, I just got stumped since we don't have Golden Demon written yet- but I managed to come up with some content to fill in for during or after the scene plays out for now & continued from there.

Moose has decided to try & make two versions of Life's Better With A Little Party In It: one that's a trashy pop song, & one that's his own take on the song based on artists like YOASOBI. (Into the Night, Monster, Idol, etc...)

We're also thinking about making a Cover Album on the side to go with the soundtrack just for fun with covers of songs from bands & artists like ONE OK ROCK & Set It Off.

I'm still thinking I might go for making The I Was Screaming Your Name Through the Radio Project into an episodic animatic series, but with everything going on I might wait to record the actual script & songs until we've got most of the script & songs written out more at the least if not also until after I get a better microphone & possibly start injections. (Maybe I'll still do the first few chapters since they're just teens anyways but meh whatever; we'll see.)

I did do a drawing while I was free last night though & have been talking with my dad who's voice is basically his life & career about vocal training of sorts or if I should find classes online or something along those lines for it.

(Back to the drawing) I made a concept design for Moose's online/music persona AquaticSnow & a possible first EP/Album cover. I'm not sure I'll post it (yet?) since he might use it for stuff like his avatar, channel/s, music, etc but if I do it'll be on my personal main Tumblr, Instagram, & probably Deviantart & Twitter/X.

I'm also nervous about somebody tryin' to steal the art &/or concept.

Another reminder that I do have a personal server where I stream drawing, gaming, sometimes reading & writing, watch parties (movies, shows, etc...) & I post planning & updates for the project there!

Worm Reading - Part 1, Insinuation 2.6

So I've heard the series Worm thrown around peripherally over the years but I've never sat down and read it. Lately some folks I follow on Tumblr have been talking about it more, and I do love me a good web serial (shoutout to Astielle and Velveteen Vs. and, uh... Tales of MU but we don't talk about that). With that in mind, I figure I'll dive in and share my experience reading Worm for the first time.

Up front, what I know about Worm before beginning: I know it's yet another take on the reality of a world where some people have superhuman powers. I know the initial main character has bug powers. I'm pretty sure that somewhere along the way there's a massive spike in power level, where we go from dealing with street fights to dealing with civilization-level threats. I think there's some investigation of how people get powers, and experiments with trying to give people powers (that, inevitably for the genre, probably go awry). I also think there might be some shenanigans with the focus of the story, like a primary viewpoint character dies or becomes someone else? I'm hazy on that part.

With that in mind, I began reading this morning. I'm currently up to Insinuation 2.6. I will admit it's a little bit of a struggle to not skim over the school bullying portions. I know this is a story written twelve years ago by an amateur author, but the initial descriptions of all the pretty popular girl bullies and the focus on what they wear and what their hair looks like is definitely the weakest part. Not that this isn't sadly a legitimate depiction of how awful high school can be for many people, but at least for me it's the least interesting thing to read about.

So far it seems that Taylor hasn't really fully thought through how reality on the streets might differ from the Good Superhero VS. Evil Supervillain narrative put out by an organization with a name like THE PROTECTORATE. We've gotten some interesting glimpses into the street-level struggle between gangs led by powered individuals, I'm a little fascinated by this idea of non-powered mooks as basically gang members who rally around a powered leader. I'm gonna slide right over the characterization of the gang led by Lung and chalk that one up 2011 being a different time.

I am SO INTRUIGED by the Undersiders. Specifically it has been established that they have a somewhat diverse mix of powers and have been able to take on or shake off any attempts at suppression from officially authorized teams.

Hellhound: Seems to be general muscle for the team. We have yet to actually speak to her, but I kinda like her? Seems like she looked after herself while homeless for many years, and I can't really begrudge her for being standoffish or abrasive.

Grue: "Darkness Generation" is such a vague power, but I suspect it could be very handy in battlefield control and breaking contact after a fight, which makes their crew substantially more slippery. Deeper implications to how this could be weaponized?

Regent: Vague hero name doesn't seem to indicate any particular power, I'm curious what his deal is.

Tattletale: I'm sorry, I've only known this character for five minutes and I already LOVE her. Her power seems to be information-related, something like she knows the answer to any question asked? If her power is anything like what I think it is, she is CRAZY powerful and is absolutely being underestimated by the narrative at the moment. Can't wait to find out what her deal is.

He seems nice enough, I was a little surprised that he didn't put more pressure on Taylor to get registered and go legit in their initial interaction. I did feel a brief pang of "oh god I'm old" when the clearly Responsible Adult-coded character is estimated to be about my age or younger.

I'm curious to meet this elusive "Boss" the Undersiders have mentioned, that seems to be a critical part to this story that I suspect will be a central part of which way this story goes. Onward from here!

alright so we've got 10 buddies (prisoners) in this Milgram prison who are all technically guilty of "taking a life" (not killing someone, only around four of them did that from what we know.)

in the beginning, this is all the info available.

there's 3 trials over the course of years, 1 of which already fully passed, the second of which is more-or-less on the edge being finished -> as im writing this, you can vote for 2 characters, and the last 2 are yet to be judged at all

during each trial:

the official youtube channel releases a new MV (song) about the character currently being judged. (and a cover of a deco*27 song on spotify)

a voice drama of a discussion between the character and the warden (Es) is uploaded on spotify. an english translation by fans is usually uploaded not long after on youtube

and later, when both of the above has been realized for two characters

interrogation questions are answered on twitter. (here's the fan eng account)

INFO 1: in official sources (website etc) they use "guilty or innocent". this is misleading. they're all guilty of something. the only question is your forgiveness. INFO 2: the official english translations of the songs sometimes Suck Major Ass (see: Undercover), but theyre fine enough most of the time.

now that we're onto trial2 we know what an unforgiven vote does, which is: less privileges/freedom, more restrains, mental state done did fucked up if they care, more but can't remember right now.

in-universe, the warden judges them. you influence the judgement with daily votes.

and the most important of all: any reason to judge is a good reason!!

unforgiven cause you think they're reprehensible? sure! forgiven cause theyre cute? yeah! forgiven for the lolz? why not!

…there's also the question if this all is technically a infohazard because by knowing about the vote and then abstaining from voting (or not doing anything at all) is still participating anyway.

TLDR: over time you get more info about 10 characters who all took a life, and with that info you decide whether you forgive them or not in three trials

the thing is that the literal last character of the roster to be judged is a Justice Fanatic who got forgiven!! guess what she did to those who weren't.

long story short she got 03 blind in one eye, 06 now has a broken arm + bruised ribs + concussion iirc, 08 is a kid so she got skipped, and 09 fought back but you can see it took a lot.

why aren't any of them dead? the resident medic 05 was judged forgiven so he was free to help them.

One of the first things you'll probably see there is from like two years ago when I was posting it to Wattpad, and while Wattpad doesn't have every chapter yet it's further ahead than the story is on AO3. Once AO3 catches up to that point though I plan to post to both sites until it's fully uploaded

There might be some spoiler-y stuff in that tag too though! I'm pretty vague about future events in the story but I still talk about stuff that happens later, so. Just be careful in there, lol. For the ask game: Do you think RL railway enthusiasts are comparable to internet fandom?

Yeah absolutely. Now, it's not identical to say an anime or French TV show fandom, it has its own expressions and experiences and industry behind it; it's comparable to internet fandom in the same way that sports or car enthusiasts are comparable to internet fandom. Very different, and yet very much the same.

Railway enthusiasts have their own unofficial fan lingo. If I talk about a shed, a Ludmilla, a Quietschie (squeaky), a Hamster, Taurus, Ferkeltaxi (piglet cab), Swiss crocodile, or similar, those are all trains and many rail fans will know exactly which ones I mean (I have all of those on my model railroad, except for a "shed" because those are just ugly).

Rail fans also have fan art, most famously in the form of model railroads which can be anything from fun toys to intricate pieces of artistic expression, but also drawings, paintings, classical music (thanks Arthur Honegger) and so on. Train photography is also a huge field. I used to do lots of that.

And these subcultures intersect, but aren't identical. There are plenty of model railroaders who don't care about actual railroads at all, and vice versa. In model railroading, it's also divided by which scale or scales you have. I use N gauge, the smallest practical one (Z heads you know I'm right), and someone who models European 0 gauge - I really have almost no point of contact with them. Let alone American O gauge (yes, one's the number, the other is the letter), with their Lionel and third rail, that's a part of the hobby that is a complete mystery to me.

You also absolutely get big fan events. I sat out the ones in Friedrichshafen and Leipzig, but I was at the one in Göppingen this year, which was simultaneously massive and one of the smaller ones I've seen. It's not the same as a "fandom con", there is nobody there cosplaying a Czech freight car (well, except for me), and there are no autograph sessions for famous creators (except for Hagen von Ortloff sometimes), but you do see (invited) clubs bring their model railroads. There are also a lot of shops around for model railroad stuff and railroad memorabilia. My personal favorite: The bin at the Lemke stand. I got some really fun stuff there, including e.g. the Quietschie.

Compared to internet fandoms, the whole thing tends to skew older; the median rail fan is a retired white man. There are also more classic infrastructures, like official clubs with official meeting hours and so on. Not really my style, to be honest, but it exists. It's also a field where classic printed publications still hold a lot of sway, some aimed at fans of the real thing, some aimed at model railroaders, some at both, some at specific sections of any of these groups.

That being said, there is also a huge internet component. I'm not really active there, because e.g. the Drehscheibe-Online forum is incredibly interesting but also every other thread devolves into a flame war immediately. But it is a huge thing.

Rail fan culture doesn't necessarily look like the thing that came out of Star Trek fanzines to bulletin boards to eventually Tumblr pipeline, it has its own distinct history and expressions. But at the end of the day it is the same thing: We narrativise the things we're interested in, and we identify with them, and we seek others who we can share that with. And that sparks creativity, and it sparks people who try to make money off of it, and it absolutely sparks flame wars and people identifying with certain teams and so on. It's fun!

This meme. Got reposted from 4chan to Reddit to Twitter and finally to Tumblr. I'll update this post as I read each book. Here's the complete list:

1. Goosebumps #28: The Cuckoo Clock of Doom - R.L. Stine. Very middle of the road Goosebumps book not especially good but not terrible. 6/10 dead sisters.

2. Call of the Crocodile - F. Gardner. This book is a meme on /lit/ cause the dude's batshit and is constantly trying to promote his books that are extremely poorly written. He calls himself a famous author, doesn't believe gorillas or giraffes are real, and advocates chainsmoking cigarettes to help with the writing process. This book is the funniest thing I've ever read and made me so fucking angry by being so awful. 10/10 misplaced commas.

3. No Longer Human - Osamu Dazai. A semi-autobiographical story published before the author's suicide about a severely mentally ill character named Oba Yozo through his life of addiction, women, suicide attempts, and so on. An incredibly depressing read. His whole inner life is laid bare and it's disgusting and grotesque and you see yourself in him and you wish you could hold him and cry for him but even if you could you would never have the power to make anything okay. Beautiful fucking book, genuinely 100% no fucking joke changed my life. 10000/10 shitty cyberpunk adaptations.

4. Crime and Punishment - Fyodor Dostoevsky. I cried hard as fuck dude. Another life changer for reals. Dostoevsky had such a deep understanding of human nature whether it be the lowest, most base and vile instincts or the unending capacity for love and compassion that exist in us all. All while being the blueprint for like every heady crime drama like Death Note, Breaking Bad, etc. The shit all you fags like. Most people just remember it as maybe required HS reading and definitely something people are pretentious about but it 100% deserves all the love it gets. Fan fucking tastic. 100000/10 years in Siberia.

5. Becoming - Michelle Obama. A bit too heavily ghostwritten, but when Michelle's voice shows through it's not terrible, it's kind of interesting to hear the inside scoop on White House life. It's kind of sad that Barack is the most interesting part of the book, and book-Barack seems like an extremely interesting and cool guy. But the book doesn't address all his dead civilians. 5/10 drone strikes.

6. Ulysses - James Joyce. The modernist novel, from what I understand. Half retelling of the Odyssey in 1900s Ireland, half a troll on literary critics, all around a pretty damn fun read. Not very far yet. Definitely the most difficult thing I've ever tried to read. Unfinished/10 Agenbites of inwit

7. 48 Laws of Power. This is like, THE sigma bro self help book as far as I've heard. It's pretty iconic, but I'm not especially excited for it.

8. Frankenstein - Mary Shelley. We all know it and love it, I'm interested to read the OG story.

9. Catechism of the Catholic Church 2nd Edition. Book from the Vatican that lays out what the church's official opinions, rules, shit like that are. Will be boring but interesting.

10. The God Delusion - Richard Dawkins. One of the biggest atheist dude books there is and probably by far the most influential. God is bad people who believe in God are stupid etc etc. Hopefully it has something interesting to say and isn't just a jerk off. It might just be a jerk off.

11. The Love Hypothesis - Ali Hazelwood. Some booktok romance schlock afaik. People make fun of it.

12. A Confederacy of Dunces - John Kennedy Toole. All I know is it's about a guy in New Orleans in the 60s. Might be good, people seem to really like it.

13. The Art of War - Sun Tzu. Im gonna get so good at surprising my enemy.

14. Kodomo no Jikan - Kaworu Watashiya. Pure pedoslop, I don't think there's even an official English translation so we might not read it but I'm preemptively giving it 0/10.

15. The Iliad - Homer. The story of the Trojan war. All I know is Helen, Horse, and that's about it.

16. The Odyssey - Homer. It's the Odyssey. I think it's funny that it comes after Ulysses since I don't actually know the whole story of the Odyssey itself.

17. Ted Bundy: Conversations with a Killer - Stephen G. Michaud and Hugh Aynesworth. This is that thing they made a Netflix doc about a while back.

18. The C++ Programming Language 4th edition - Bjarne Stroustrup. Exactly what it says on the tin, by the guy who wrote the language.

19. Empress Theresa - Norman Boutin. A classic, it's a weird self-published story by a guy who's extremely unwell, usually referenced in the same way Sonichu is.

20. The Sound and the Fury - William Faulkner. His most difficult to read work, about a Southern family at the beginning of the 20th century.

21. Black Future #1 - Whitney Ryan. A very racist BNWO sissification porn story that was probably written as a joke. Possible skip definite 0/10.

22. The Cat in the Hat - Dr. Seuss. You know this.

23. The Trial - Franz Kafka. One of Kafka's most famous unfinished works, about a guy who's on trial for something and he doesn't know what.

24. American Psycho - Bret Easton Ellis. Supposed to be way darker and more fucked up than the movie, really supposed to chill you to the bone afaik. VERY excited for this read.

25. Gravity's Rainbow - Thomas Pynchon. One of those famous "Really Fucking Long And Hard Books" like Infinite Jest or Ulysses, incredibly autistic foray into WW2 rocket science. Classic Pynchonery.

26. Magick In Theory and Practice - Aleister Crowley. Thankfully it's not the entirety of Magick Liber ABA Book 4.

27. Minecraft Jokes for Kids - Steve Minecraft. Not a real book but we'll substitute Jokes For Minecrafters by the Hollow family.

28. The Jews and Their Lies - Martin Luther. One of the most notorious antisemitic texts, right up there with the Protocols. It's going to be a pretty apalling read but it has pretty damn significant historical value so it's probably worth reading.

29. Dianetics - L. Ron Hubbard. The scientology book. It's way longer than you'd expect.

30. Everyone Poops - Taro Gomi. I don't understand this because girls don't poop.

31. In His Own Write - John Lennon. His writing and art, mostly just a bunch of absurd bullshit. I want to remain neutral and not just hate the book because I hate the guy. We'll see if it deserves that.

32. Bear - Marian Engel. This is that Canadian novel where the woman has a romance with a bear.

33. How To Get A Girlfriend - Chad Scott Nellis. Some bullshit self published thing. I'm gonna be swimming in punani.

34. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck - Mark Manson. Some self help schlock afaik.

35. Gabriel Dropout (vol. 3) - UKAMI. This is that cutesy manga about those angels and demons in human high school.

45. Serial Experiments Lain: An Omnipresence in Wired - Yoshitoshi ABe. The Lain artbook, with the short manga The Nightmare of Fabrication. Will be very expensive to get ahold of.

46. Pounded by the Pound - Chuck Tingle. We've heard enough about this guy the bit was holding onto the last molecule of funny it had like five years ago but I now had to buy a compilation paperback of his work for this.

47. Ford Capri II 2.8 & 3.0 Owners Workshop Manual 1974-1987. Had to order this from the UK couldn't find any in the US.

48. Lolita - Vladimir Nabokov. We all know what this is. Of all things when my mom saw this list this was the book she pointed out as being really good, which I thought was funny.

49. Man's Life Magazine, September 1956 issue. "Weasels Ripped My Flesh." Good god it will be difficult finding the actual magazine, but the weasels story itself has been reprinted.

50. Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs (2nd Edition) - Harold Abelson et al. I like when people make anime girls have it :)

51. Shiver - Junji Ito. Never been a major Ito fan but a couple of his works I really liked are in this compilation.

52. Neon Genesis Evangelion (vol. 2) - Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. The Eva manga was really good I've actually read it before.

54. Spice and Wolf (vol. 1) - Isuna Hasekura. Light novel for that manga we've been seeing around. They put a generic cover on it and replaced the anime girl so it could sell to non-weebs.

58. Mein Kampf - Adolf Hitler. Now obviously this wasn't included on the list for the genuine important historical value this book has but that's what I'm going to be reading it for. In reading it critically afaik it really paints a picture of how pathetic and unwell he was.

61. Aberration in the Heartland of the Real - Wendy S. Painting. This is a book on the life of the OKBOMB guy, Timothy McVeigh. I hate how true crime shit has become so polarized as either sensational dogshit to make women walk with their keys between their knuckles or some awful horrible thing that's not worth looking into because "they were just racist/misogynistic/etc" I think it's all very reductive so this promises to be a good read.

People who read it and didn't already agree with it going in have said it's poorly written and just blows, and in the peek I took that seems to be true. It's too influential to not read if I'm going to be reading about Timothy McVeigh. Hard to get since it got pulled from most online stores following Jan 6th.

67. The C Programming Language (2nd Edition) - Brian W. Kernighan & Dennis M. Ritchie. Gonna learn to code I guess.

68. A Little Life - Hanya Yanagihara. It's a story about a group of mentally ill gay men living in New York. Has been described as trauma porn written by a woman fetishizing gay men and is on there because channers like making fun of it, but it was also shortlisted for a Pulitzer.

So because I don't often post about these on tumblr; Riley is kind of a joint OC that I ship with Kinzie's hc of well... Kinzie, for RP. I can see her working with canon Kinzie too though! And Alix is my OC that I ship with Kinzie's OC Calista.

Pre-relationship 2: What was their first impression of each other?

So they actually had a really brief first meeting back in 2016 years before they meet "properly" which is in 2022 and not yet fully decided on. Riley was a fairly young doctor at the time and was brought to the big 4th July party(that's a huge part of Casey's rise to President and very important to the overall Out Of Time storyline) by the slightly slimy hospital owner more or less looking for arm candy.

When Oleg and Kinzie call out for a doctor for Matt(from the future, relevant), who has been shot, Riley responds and comes outside with them. However by the time they do so, Matt has been jumped back to the future to access Zin medical care, so she ends up more or less just checking if Casey is OK and then leaving.

She and Kinzie probably don't think much of each other at that time. I think we talked about Kinzie having some sort of odd feeling about Riley but shrugs it off because she has odd feelings about a lot of things, lol. I think later if they connect the dots it would be so intriguing to them both though to remember that! That they interacted in this small way because Kinzie just needed someone and Riley was there, and now she always will be.

General 2: Did they have an official first date? If so, what was it like?

I'd like if their official first date was at Roasted because we've had them meet up there in a specific setting before, but for the canon/Countdown universe, they could still time jump there. I think it's very chill which suits them both as they're both naturally kind of tense and it would relax them. Just gives them a chance to unwind and it's not too overwhelming for Kinzie in social terms because it doesn't tend to get too busy on a weekday, when they'd likely go.

Love 5: Who’s better at comforting the other?

Going with your hcs, definitely Riley comforting Kinzie, I think that's one of the main reasons Kinzie likes her so much actually is that she takes care of her. But I think the same would be true of canon because canon Kinzie definitely isn't very comforting! Riley can be abrupt when it comes to work but she's sweet when it comes to her personal life.

Domestic 6: Who kills the bugs in the house?

I feel like Kinzie would not do much about any bugs so definitely Riley. She's a doctor so values cleanliness and finds them really off-putting. So while she might release some humanely, she would want them dealt with as quickly as possible and sometimes that might mean killing them.

Calix (Calista and Alix)

Pre-relationship 2: What was their first impression of each other?

I think Alix was immediately taken by Callie's apperance; xe thought they were really beautiful and also liked their legs in the fishnets. From Callie's end they thought Alix looked really cool and liked xir rainbow hair. You'd be best to add if there's anything else they thought 😊

General 7: Who takes the lead in social situations?

I think while they're both fairly confident, I would imagine Calista would be a little more chill and go with the flow whereas Alix might be a little more decisive. Neither is really a wallflower though so it probably alternates!

Love 9: What kind of nicknames do they call each other?

Alix calls Calista "darlin'" most of the time, I think they call xem "babe" in return, and then Callie and Allie 😊 obviously Calista already gets called Callie before meeting Alix but Alix never really went by Allie before but xe finds that really cute that Calista calls them that.

Domestic 2: What's the wedding like? Who attends?

All the Saints would be invited from Callie's side, and from Alix's there would definitely be a lot of other farmers because unlike on earth, Alix probably works with a large team on Ragnarok as they would all be really important to setting up sustainable food sources. I'm not sure if either has any surviving family after the Earth's destruction; Alix has a strained relationship with xir parents but does love them so would invite them if they were alive.

As for the wedding itself I imagine they'd want something a little less traditional than Pierhys and Mass using the (3rd) rebuilt Saints church. In fact I think they'd maybe overdo the quirkiness of it to the point it'd be annoying for everyone else but they don't really give a shit, it's their day. 😆

Calista would probably want something dramatic and gothic venue-wise whereas Alix would probably want to get married in the middle of a field or something so I feel like a great compromise would maybe be a forest? We know there are forests on Ragnarok so it makes sense. I think Kinzie would play a pretty major role given she's Callie's best friend.

A ceremony in the middle of the trees with fairy lights strung all over the canopies and vows they both wrote. Since they're non-binary and agender they wouldn't really want anything with husband/wife connotations so again nothing resembling "traditional" vows. Instead of exchanging rings they have stencils of each others' first initials printed onto their ring fingers ready to have them tattooed before the photos. They sign the marriage document(Emperor Casey has rules people!) on each others backs.

They have a marquee for the reception but it looks more like a giant black bell tent with rainbow drapes all around. I'm not sure what they'd have food wise. Maybe they could have chocolate peanut butter cupcakes as their wedding cake.

Grit is ongoing and I originally posted this on AO3, I don't post much online so bear with me this is honestly the first big thing I'm doing on Tumblr.... Ch 1: A Rough Introduction

Its the third year for Midoriya and his classmates at UA, he heard rumors from All Might that there will be a special exchange student from America to join them this year. The news has spread like wildfire because this is rare that this happens. Uraraka runs to Midoriya with Kaminari, Kirishima and Mina, waving they run to Deku who has Todoroki approaching as well as Bakugo.

" Hey Midoriya did you hear the news?" Kaminari asks.

" About the new exchange sudent? Yah I don't know why but I'm excited." Midoriya nods.

" I wonder what kind of Quirk they will have, I have never met an American yet I wonder what they are like?" Mina ponders.

Ojiro and Hagakure approach and wave at their friends, Hagakure runs to them and is shouting with excitement.

" Guys I saw some official looking cars turn back where Ojiro and I were walking, they had American flags on them!" Hagakure tells them.

" Really cool! Also multiple?" Kirishima asks.

" Great its some governor's pampered kid or some shit like that." Bakugo groans.

" Well how do you know?" Ojiro asks.

" Multiple cars means that the ones they aren't in are full of security." Bakugo sighs.

" I guess you're right but we don't know that yet." Kirishima shrugs.

" Hey there they are, look they are out of the car." Kaminari points out.

They look and see a girl, she has her uniform on and is standing in front of large men in uniform.

" Those patches, they are definitely from the Military, they look to be Navy." Midoriya comments.

" Woah her family is military then?" Uraraka asks.

" It's a safe bet to make until we know more about her." Todoroki nods.

The man in the front salutes her, the girl returns the salute and the men get in the car and leave. She returns to normal and turns heel to walk inside, they look and see she has on super compressed weights on her wrists and ankles along with a belt around her hips.

" Man those things are heavy, she has on at least 220 kilograms." Ojiro points out.

" Man she is training already?" Mina looks in shock.

" We should go say hi." Hagakure suggests.

" Uh she looks pretty pissed off maybe we should wait." Kirishima suggests.

As they say that they see other third years approach her, they start to harass the new girl but she doesn't even pay attention to them.

" Heh typical American, thinking they are too good for us." One of the kids sneer.

The girl doesn't even respond even when they are attacking her verbally, she just walks inside and the group just take a sigh of relief.

" Man I thought for sure there would be a fight." Kaminari takes a breath.

" Heh, she is well trained." Bakugo smirks.

" Well let's head to class and get ready for the day." Midoriya nods.

The class head inside and in the class they see the girl with Iida, they are having a conversation that seems to be going well. The girl walks away and they go up to Iida who smiles at his friends presence.

" Hello everyone! I can't wait to get back into the dorms with everyone this year. Have you met our new exchange student?" Iida asks.

" Not yet no, she seemed pretty cold when we saw her earlier." Uraraka shakes her head.

" She is a little aloof but I believe she is actually nice." Iida comments.

" Well we can speak to her during lunch then, that way it's a more relaxed setting." Mina smiles.

" Yah that is a great idea." Kaminari agrees.

" But for now everyone take your seats it is time for class!" Iida commands.

Everyone takes their seat while Present Mic and Mr. Aizawa walk in, they see the class is ready and begin.

" Good morning, as you all can see we have a new student with us, they are an exchange student from the United States." Mr. Aizawa starts the class.

" Yah please welcome ---- Drakos!" Present Mic introduces.

Everyone looks at ---- who is just silent and glares up at the teachers, she doesn't seem to want to speak.

" Well come up here and say a few things about yourself." Present Mic tells her.

" I would rather not...." ---- shakes her head.

" Aw come on we would love to get to know you, you are the first American we have met!" Kirishima smiles.

---- sighs and stands up, in a militaristic way she walks to the front and stays silent for a moment. Looking at Present Mic and glaring at him, she looks back at the class and takes a breath.

" I am Lieutenant Commander Drakos, I was enlisted very early into the United States Navy because of my quirks. I became the rising star of the Navy and was part of the Seals. I have a kill count that would make All for One even blush and I am here because I was forced to...." ---- simply states.

The entire class looks green around the gills when they hear all this, they look in shock at the teachers.

" She is joking right?" Kaminari nervously laughs.

" No she is quite serious, ---- is considered one of the deadliest assets the military has." Mr. Aizawa replies.

" Then why have her here?!" Mineta flips out.

" It is a matter of national security not only on the side of the United States but for us here in Japan. We have been trusted with her care and education, while she is here she will stay in the dorms with you all." Mr. Aizawa calms.

---- sits back in her seat and just stays silent, the class goes on like normal and they continue on until lunch. The class heads to lunch and they notice ---- seated already, she has her own bento and starts to eat, Uraraka, Kirishima, Midoriya and a bunch of her class come to her table and sit with her. She just peacefully eats and enjoys her food quietly.

" Hey ---- after this you wanna hang out after school in the Dorms?" Uraraka asks.

" I have a strict workout schedule I need to abide by." ---- replies.

" Cool we can work out together!" Kirishima grins.

" You wont be able to keep up, I have my Commander coming after and I will be going through the usual training I went through when I first went into boot camp." ---- tells him.

" Well we can give it a shot." Iida nods.

" Fine just don't be rude to Commander Stark." ---- sighs out.

The same kids from earlier walk by and sneer at ----, she ignores them and just continues to eat.

" Heh well if it isn't the American Trash, what were the schools not good enough for you there?" A girl teases.

---- continues to keep her cool, she just eats her hardboiled egg and ignores the noise. The girl and her friends are irritated she isn't doing anything, the girl smacks her chopsticks out of her hand. The lunch room is silent as they look at ---- just staying still.

" Back off now!" Todoroki yells at the group.

---- gets up and stands in front of the group, she just calmly looks at the group and glares at them all.

" I don't even need to use my Quirks to beat you." ---- smirks.

" You will eat those words!" The girl yells at her.

The group barrage ---- with their strong Quirks but she simply dodges each one with ease. All this and she still has her weights on her limbs, she is quick to use her head and she skull smashes each attacker. Each one falls to the ground in pain, they groan and whimper as ---- cracks her neck.

" I will eat later...." ---- comments as she puts her food away and grabs her chopsticks.

Walking out while the lunch room is in silence, they all go back to their seats and the room just eats.

" Man.... she took them out with only her head, she had her hands behind her back the entire time." Kaminari murmurs.

" Heh, idiots got what they deserved." Bakugo laughs.

" Man being with her is going to be difficult, she comes from such a structured world." Mina sighs.

" Well soon we will learn more about her through the Quirk assessments tomorrow." Todoroki comments as he eats.

" Yah she is in a new environment let's give her space." Midoriya nods.

The classes finish the day out and the class begins to leave, they don't see Brooke anywhere and head back to the dorm work out center after school. There they hear yelling of multiple people, Todoroki, Kirishima and the others walk into the weight room and see ---- pushes up two guys on her back as she is in a push up position. She is holding halfway and is covered in bruises, a man towers over her and has his arms crossed.

" Were you picking fights?!" The man yells.

" Sir no sir!" ---- replies.

" We got a call saying you were seen picking fights with multiple students!" The man yells.

" I only act in self defense sir!" ---- chokes out.

" Look at you Lieutenant! Giving up already?!" He yells more.

" Never sir!" She growls.

" Now wait just a minute!" Todoroki yells.

" Excuse me who are you?!" The man yells.

" No who are you?! You are here torturing our classmate!" Kirishima yells back.

" Stay out of this!" ---- yells.

" Men get up, Drakos get your ass up, you are doing the pool exercise." The man commands.

" Yes sir Commander Stark." ---- nods.

The men get up and walk away to the pool area, ---- struggles to get up but stumbles upright. Todoroki runs to help but she puts her hand up and stops him, she walks to the pool and her classmates follow and watch on helplessly.

" Final exercise of the day, after all this you arent using your Quirk to heal up, you will keep this pain as a lesson." Commander Stark tells her.

" Yes sir!" ---- stands at attention.

The two other men tie her hands and feet, the Commander throws a knife and a mask with snorkel.

" Get the mask on and get yourself free and you can go." Commander Stark tells ---- before he shoves her in the pool.

" Commander Stark but how can she survive that!? She is wounded!" Iida asks.

" What you don't know about Lieutenant Commander Drakos is she was a full fledged Navy Seal at the age of 10, she was crafted and molded into the ultimate killing machine. Her duel Quirks make her perfectly adapted as one of the deadliest people on this planet. Her kill count is something to behold, but she is here under classified circumstances and that is all you need to know." Commander Stark tells them.

They watch as ---- grabs the knife with her mouth and uses it to cut her wrists free, she grabs the snorkel and mask and finishes cutting the ropes off her ankles. Pain fills her body but she swims up and takes a gasp of air, ---- pulls herself up out of the pool and breathes heavy.

" You have slowed down, do better Drakos." Commander Stark warns.

" Sir.... yes sir...." ---- nods.

The men leave and her classmates rush to her side, ---- is too tired to complain to them and feels someone help her up. She sees its Todoroki and just glares at him, holding her side ---- winces.

" ---- why let them do this to you?!" Uraraka asks.

" You look like hell." Tokoyami tells her.

" It is what I know, I grew up this way.... no one here can understand that...." ---- sighs as she walks away to the unisex locker room.

Heading to the tubs she gets a bunch of ice and starts the water, her bruised body trembles in pain. Stopping the water she lowers her body into the water, she wishes she can heal her body but she is under direct orders not to as punishment.

Todoroki walks in and sees her, he wasn't aware she went in here. He walks over to her and sits next to her, ---- looks at him and just looks away. He can see she is in pain still and wants to help her.

" Can I get you something for the pain?" He asks.

" I'm fine...." ---- breathes out.

He watches her breathing pattern and sees it is off, ---- coughs and blood comes up he looks in horror and holds her up before she slips down into the water.

" Damn it you have a punctured lung, you need help." Todoroki tells her.

He pulls her from the water and holds her in his arms, she stops him and he watches as her ribcage starts to shift. After a few moments it stops and her breathing is normal.

" I fixed it.... just get me to my room...." ---- demands weakly.

Todoroki rushes to her room and opens it up, he sees medals, uniforms and pictures everywhere along with collections of places she has been. He grabs a towel nearby and wraps her in it, she is sat down on a chair and he kneels in front of her. ---- dries off and looks exhausted, she goes over to a dresser and grabs sweat pants and a tank top. Todoroki turns immediately and waits for her to be finished, ---- finds it amusing he is this embarrassed being around a girl changing. ---- finishes and shuffles to her bed, Todoroki turns and helps her in bed. She doesn't protest, she only wants to sleep, her heavy eyes look at him.

" You remind me of my eldest brother Touya.... I'm worried for you." Shoto tells her.

" I am fine...." ---- just shrugs off his concern.

The pair are silent for a while, ---- looks at Shoto standing there with a concerned look. He looks away from her and towards the wall in deep thought, ---- clears her throat.

" What was Touya like?" ---- asks him.

" He was stubborn but never gave up, I miss him so much, so does Natsuo and my sister Fuyumi took it harder. He was told by my father that his quirk was too much for his body to handle, he never listened and wanted to be a Hero so bad.... in his anguish and ceaseless training his quirk spiraled out of control...." Shoto tells her.

" I am so sorry...." ---- sympathizes.

" All that was left of him was a piece of his lower jaw, his quirk burnt him to ash, he was so kind and loving to everyone and he wanted to be the best.... I miss him." Shoto continues.

" I'm sorry for your loss, I know the feeling all too well...." ---- nods.

" Someday I'll show you his shrine, it's very beautiful.... but you need rest, we can talk more later." Shoto tells ----.

" Ok.... I'll see you later." ---- nods and passes out from exhaustion.

Todoroki looks at her for a moment, her dark brown hair and slightly tan skin are rather pretty. Todoroki pulls the covers over her shoulder and tucks her in. He leaves her room and heads down to his friends, they turn and look at him and see his soaked clothing.

" Where have you been man?" Kaminari asks him.

" Making sure ---- got to her room, she is resting now." Todoroki explains.

" Is she ok?" Aoyama asks concerned.

" She is resting peacefully currently, she most likely wont be up for a while." Todoroki nods.

The rest of the class don't pry about her and just go about the rest of their day until the Quirk assessments tomorrow.

Its the end of the next school day and both Class 1A and 1B are brought to the training center, they see a person in a Hero costume standing with Mr. Aizawa, Present Mic and Ectoplasm. The outfit is sleek and looks like something for water combat, it is dark on the back and a little lighter in the front of the costume. The boots of the person are reminiscent of Selkies boots with the fins, they have gloves on with nanotech webbing between the fingers. The faceplate completely obscures who it is, they all stand at attention and wait for the teachers to speak.

" Hello everyone, you are probably wondering what is going on here and why I asked you to wear your outfits. Well next to us is Hydra, or you may know her as ----. This is her outfit she wore on active duty and is perfectly crafted to suit hers Quirks." Mr. Aizawa explains.

" Quirks?!" Tetsutetsu asks loudly.

" Yes similar to Shoto Todoroki ---- has duel Quirks, your jobs are to figure out what they are. One is more obvious then the other, she will be fighting you all." Mr. Aizawa nods.

" You can't be serious, all 41 of us verses her?" Shinso scoffs.

" Let's get this over with...." ---- sighs.

Stepping forward ---- undoes her weight belt around her waist, she removes her wrist weights and her leg weights as well. She tosses them all to the side and they make a large crater to the side, the students look in shock.

" Woah how much weight was that?!" Kirishima asks in shock.

" 454 kilograms, I'm ready to start." ---- sighs.

" The rules are simple, you each have a zip tie set of cuffs, you need to catch her to win, while she has to capture every single one of you. Should be easy right? Once captured you cant break the cuff you are out!" Present Mic explains.

" There is no way she can win, we have 41 unique and powerful Quirks on our side." Midoriya comments.

The teachers go above the training grounds and sit up in the rafters, the students watch ---- for a moment and see how calm she is.

" LET'S GET HER!" Tetsutetsu yells out.

" Wait that's not a good idea!" Kirishima yells to class 1B.

---- puts her arms out and focuses, the pipes in the facility burst and she quickly floods the arena. She manages to make the depth a little over 10 meters, all the other students have taken to high ground and see ---- is nowhere to be found.

" Shoji, Koda, Jiro, find her!" Midoriya tells them.

" Right!" They reply.

Using their Quirks they look for her but look in shock, they can't find her and can't sense her.

" I.... I can't hear her! Her heartbeat should be as clear as day but.... there is no heartbeat!" Jiro tell the others.

In a flash ---- breaches the water and grabs Jiro, the pair disappear in the water and everyone looks in horror.

" Jiro!" Some of them yell.

Jiro resurfaces with her hands bound, Ectoplasm quickly uses a clone to retrieve her. ---- quickly does the same to Shoji and Koda and captures them as well, the students back away from the water and try to think of a plan.

" Well what now Deku?!" Bakugo yells.

" I'm not sure yet, she is taking out our scouts to make sure we cant find her with ease. She can clearly control her heartbeat and pause it so she is not detected, she can obviously control water so that is one of her Quirks, the other we were told isn't obvious which means until she activates it we may not know what it is until we see it up close. But with ---- that is dangerous, she is clearly strong physically on her own. But her Quirks paired with her physical capabilities and her elite combat prowess make her a top tier threat." Midoriya explains.

" We need to get our strongest to attack in close combat." Sato recommends.

" It could work, Tetsutetsu, Kirishima draw her out but stay close so she is forced to confront you both." Midoriya suggests.

" You got it!" They shout in unison.

The pair go to a large plateau that is above water and wait, soon ---- flies out of the water and lands on the other side where they are standing.

" I'll charge first ok?" Tetsutetsu tells his friend.

" Right I'll be right behind you." Kirishima nods.

Tetsutetsu starts the charge, he hardens his body and charges at her, ---- rushes at Tetsutetsu and collides with him. Tetsutetsu is launched into a wall and groans, his metal shell cracked and he holds his head. They look and see ----, they look in shock when they see armor surrounding her arm that punched Tetsutetsu.

" What the hell is that?!" Mineta yells.

Shoto's eyes open wide and he realizes he has seen this already in a way, he remembers when she healed herself from the broken rib and punctured lung. Her ribcage repaired itself and her lung mended.

---- sees Kirishima charge next, ---- guards as Kirishima crashes against her. Kirishima pushes against her but recoils back in pain, they look and see bloody spikes erupt from her chest. Kirishima backs up and they watch as the armor on her arm absorbs back into her body along with the spikes on her chest. Her costume then heals from the damage she inflicted on it and everything is back to normal.

" Kirishima! Tetsutetsu! Get back!" Shoto yells.

" What the hell is that Quirk?!" Tetsutetsu growls.

" Tetsutetsu are you ok?" Kendo asks.

" Yah she hits like a truck." He holds his head.

" I saw this ability up close yesterday, she repaired her broken rib and punctured lung. I didn't think anything of it first but now I know, her other Quirk let's her control her body on a God like scale." Shoto explains.

" Correct Shoto.... my second Quirk is Cell Manipulation, my body can survive the most extreme heat and cold. I can survive sub freezing temperatures naked by modifying my skin cells to be frostbite proof and I can move and create new fat cells so I can put layers under my skin in key areas. I can survive the hottest deserts by extracting the water in the same fat cells and lipids, I can survive with no water for months and even make it so I don't get sunburnt. One of my greatest tricks is what you saw just now, I can create and manipulate my bones with ease." ---- explains.

" She is the ultimate survivalist." Iida gasps.

" What do you mean create bone?!" Midoriya asks.

" The human body has 205 bones, with me that number is much more negotiable. As I was speaking I made a new weapon just now...." ---- sighs out and grabs behind her.

They watch ---- bend forward and they see bone sticking out of her neck, ---- pulls out her spine and it forms spikes. Wielding it around the new weapon straightens and then acts like a whip at whim. Using her new weapon she grabs Tetsutetsu and dives in the water with him, a moment later he is bound and a clone grabs him.

" Todoroki freeze the water and see if you can stop her movements." Kendo suggests.

Todoroki nods and using his ice abilities he freezes the entire pool ---- created, Todoroki stops and they see no movement.

" I think that got her." Mina comments.

The sound of Ice cracking is heard, quickly the arena floods again the current sweeps up everyone and ---- is quick to bind everyone. She misses Todoroki who is above all the water, ---- drains the water from the arena and everyone is ok. She sees Todoroki land and come after her, ---- is quick to counter him and uses her spine blade against him.

" Come quietly Todoroki." ---- tells him.

" And miss out on this little dance we are in? You are a worthy challenge!" He smirks.

Shoto and ---- fight in close proximity and both grab a capture zip tie and capture one wrist from the other. Shoto and ---- stop fighting and breathe heavy, looking at their wrists they look up at the teachers.

" Uh Aizawa is this a tie or?" Present Mic asks.

" They both captured eachother so this will be called a stalemate." Mr. Aizawa tells them.

All the students are released and they walk over to ---- and Shoto, they cut the binds off and ---- stretches out.

" How did you hide from us like that that was incredible." Jiro asks.

" For short periods of time I can stop my pulse and heart while I move around, it's stressful on my body so I only do it for two minutes at most. My bones are the stars of my little trick though...." ---- explains.

Holding her arms out she creates bone blades that come out of the top of her forearm. Sucking them back into her body she takes her left forearm and breaks it over her knee. Everyone looks in horror at the broken limb.

" Relax it doesn't hurt that bad, watch I instantly heal my broken bones.... deep wounds hell I can even reattach my limbs." ---- extends a bone blade out.

---- cuts her right arm off at the elbow, the others look in horror and some retch. Mineta and Aoyama pass out but ---- grabs her arm and puts it back, they watch her Quirk in action as the arm flawlessly reattaches to her body.

" That Quirk is so powerful, having a duel Quirk makes you extremely powerful." Iida comments.

" It's not without it's issues, with my background and what I have seen.... my PTSD weakens me and I fear my Quirk can harm those around me, so I limit myself.... it also causes my PTSD to get worse if I'm not careful. My duel Quirks require me to see everything in front of me, I need to know where every piece is on the board and I need to know what each is capable of. I do not tolerate failure even on my end.... failure leads to death and I will have no more of that." ---- explains.

" Wait so you can go insane?" Kirishima asks sympathetically.

" No need to make it sound like I'll go off my rocker, but yah.... war is hell and I may be the same age as you all roughly but you kids don't have the mental constitution to deal with what I have seen. The world is a putrid place full of evil, you all need to get your ass's in gear and learn how to deal with the horrors you will face out there. Because if you don't you will never hack it as Hero's." ---- coldly tells them.

" Wait but you are going to be a Hero too what makes you act like you are any different from us?" Kendo asks.

" I'm not a Hero, I'm just a person doing the things I need to do, the things I have done don't classify me as a Hero.... I'm far from it in fact. I walk in the darkness so that others may see the light.... I'm going back to the dorms." ---- sighs out.

---- heads the dorms and the others just sigh out after that ordeal. Shoto watches ---- hold her head as she leaves, her shoulders are hunched and she seems troubled.

" Can you believe her?! She acts all high and mighty then leaves like a jerk." Kamakiri scoffs.

" Shut up loser that's our classmate." Bakugo snaps at him.

" She captured your dumbass too." Kamakiri laughs.

" Everyone shut up...." Shoto sighs out and leaves as well.

Shoto leaves and eventually catches up to ---- who is silent, Shoto says nothing and just walks back with her. ---- eyes slide over to him without turning her head, she looks straight forward and just sighs at his presence.

" You are clearly different from the others...." ---- comments.

" What do you mean?" Shoto asks.

" You were able to slip from my grip while I was able to grab the others, can't tell if I'm irritated or impressed." ---- grumbles.

" Are you always this mad?" Shoto asks her.

" Are you and the others always this intrusive?" ---- groans.

" S-sorry.... I saw you leave and you looked like you were having an issue mentally or emotionally.... just wanted to make sure my friend is ok." Shoto apologizes.

---- stops and looks at Shoto for a while, her gaze seems irritated but she is simply thinking about what he said. Her brow relaxes and she takes a deep breath before cracking her neck.

" Know what a bomb body is? Had some unpleasant memories and scents flood my senses earlier.... don't know what caused them though...." ---- comments.

" No what are those?" Shoto asks.

" Good.... trust me forget I said anything Todoroki...." ---- sighs and leaves him standing there.

---- leaves and Shoto goes back to the dorms with the others, he keeps thinking about what she said and it makes him overly curious as he is sitting with the others. Shoto pulls out his phone and searches up what a Bomb Body is, the images flash on his screen and he drops his phone. The others look over and see the horror on his face as he covers his mouth and retches. Kirishima grabs his phone and reacts the same way and looks in horror.

" Dude what the hell why are you looking at this?!" Kirishima asks him.

" I wanted to know what ---- was talking about, I asked her what was wrong and she said she had haunting memories about them come back.... I asked her what she meant but she said forget it and its good I don't know." Shoto explains.

" Jesus.... it says here kids are the better targets for these procedures.... what the hell is this?! Some messed up fucks actually do this to people?!" Bakugo yells.

" It says here that Bomb Bodies or Human Bombs can either be alive or dead, they are used by terrorist groups to harm civilians.... oh my.... ---- said she had flashbacks of these?" Momo asks.

" Yah.... no wonder she has walls up around her emotions." Shoto nods.

" Well we shouldn't say anything to her we don't need to trigger any negative feelings with her." Midoriya suggests.

---- walks into the room and Mineta sees her, she goes to the kitchen and grabs a juice and a glass for herself.

" Hey ---- what's the deal with Bomb Bodies?" Mineta asks.

Everyone looks in horror not knowing she walked in quietly, her eyes go wide and she doesn't blink. The glass drops from her hand and shatters, she begins to retch and bolts after Mineta. Her eyes have the intent to kill which gets Sero to grab her, the tape begins to give way and he quickly tapes more to her. The guys grab on to the tape and hold on for dear life. Shoto goes in front of her and holds her body back, they struggle to hold her still as she continues to go after Mineta.

" Momo can you make something to stop her?!" Midoriya asks.

" Here I got this!" She nods and pulls out a rag and bottle she has made.

Putting the contents of the bottle on the cloth she puts it over ---- nose and mouth. ---- begins to stumble, she begins to grumble and get dizzy.

" I'll kill you.... just like you killed.... Abdullah...." She slurs as she passes out.

" Abdullah? Who is Abdullah?" Kaminari asks.

" Not sure, but we need to get Mr. Aizawa immediately." Midoriya shrugs.

" I'll bring her to her room." Shoto tells them.

Sero removes the tape and Shoto brings her to her room again, Momo walks into her room with a heart monitor she made. They hook it up to ---- and Momo sits on the bed next to her.

" I did this to her so I am responsible for making sure she is ok, I'll be here with her until she wakes up ok?" Momo tells him.

" Of course, message us when she is awake." Shoto nods.

Walking back to the others he helps clean up the mess and things calm down, Sero helps seeing as it was his Quirk that was used to bind her. Everyone goes into their own routine and the dorm is once again quiet.

Ragnok's backstory is actually revealed in one side quest where we rescue a student's uncle. He says that when Ragnok was young he came across an illegal dragon camp, and he was impressed with the dragons. He wanted to join the wizards there, and when one of them dropped their wand he saw his chance to give it back to him. But seeing the goblin with his wand angered the wizard and they attacked him. That's why he hates wizards. Also, haven't saw the whole story yet, but there is a goblin character that is on our side, we help him get a goblin helmet for him so he can gain Ragnok's trust. He says he doesn't fully agree with him

You mean Ranrok, right? I'm pretty sure Ragnok is a Goblin from the original books. Either way, that's definitely interesting.

Honestly, that story is a tragedy and it only serves to remind me who the real villains of this conflict are, and it sure as well isn't the Goblins. This is an almost textbook misunderstanding, fueled by bigotry and archaic institutions, that create a situation where Ranrok was just being polite but was immediately treated as a criminal. If one of the other Wizards had picked up the wand to return it, no one would have batted an eye. But nobody trusts Goblins and it's literally illegal for them to carry wands. (Or at least it is 100 years later, but I bet that law is already in place during HPHL.) That's one of the most blatantly racist details about the wizarding community that no one else ever seems to notice. They hold other creatures accountable to their laws, which obviously favor them and exclude said creatures. They have official designations to determine what counts as a "being." Honest to god, it's no wonder the Goblins fucking hate us. Humans really are trash sometimes.

I've gotten way off topic. Everything I've seen of Ranrok makes it difficult to sympathize with him or believe that the game is trying, but I have to admit that this backstory does help. In before Tumblr adopts Ranrok from Rowling and tweaks his character with the proper head-canons. Up to and including fanfics where he's the hero. Wouldn't be the first time we've woke-ified a problematic aspect of the potterverse...(I expect the same thing to happen to Sirona, by the way.)

Glad to hear that not all of the Goblins are depicted as villainous. That's a genuinely good thing, and I also appreciate that he doesn't "fully" agree with Ranrok versus just thinking he's flat out wrong. This does help, a little, but...to be frank, the issues with Ranrok's depiction go right down to the roots and can't really be solved by just including other Goblin characters. Because the Goblins are, deliberately or not (and it's looking more deliberate with each passing day) a caricature of Jewish people. So depicting them as the villains is already difficult to come back from. But, the way they do it is just so...typical.

Stop me if you've heard this one before. The villain of the story actually makes some very good points. They believe themself to be a hero, fighting injustice. Realistically, they're not wrong about anything they say. The only problem is that they're an extremist. By all rights, they could have been a good guy if they weren't causing so much damage in the name of their cause. So the heroes still have to stop them and uphold the status quo. They express disgust with the villain and the story suggests they have become as evil as what they were originally fighting. After the heroes win, they acknowledge how the villain may have had a point, actually....and proceed to do nothing about the injustices the villain brought up.

It's such a classic way of vilifying people who stand up against corruption and speak truth to power. People who take a stand and refuse to tolerate oppression, exactly like what the Goblins are doing. But oh, they're killing people and doing evil things. See? If you rise up against the institution, you're the bad guy. And in this case, villifying an extremist like Ranrock goes hand in hand with this game's antisemitic subtext. He didn't have to be the villain, he shouldn't be the villain. Because the Goblins, for so, so many reasons...should not be the ones we consider the villains of their conflict.

12. Have you any old muses that you’d love to bring back?

There're many old muses I've contemplated bringing back over the years. Of course, I've never FULLY gone through with it. Still, there are certain instances when I have brought back old muses, yet never fully wrote them. I mainly brought them back to have them there. But ONE muse I have wanted to bring back in the past was Gilbert Nightray from Pandora Hearts! He was my very first official muse on tumblr I had for YEARS. Some stuff went down in the fandom like not long after Pandora Hearts' publication came to an end & as a sensitive soul, it affected me drastically. So, I've never even brought him back when I was mainly using my multi-muse blog. When I bought old muses back, I always added them onto there. But sadly I am so absorbed in Ensemble Stars!! & Koga in particular that I don't think I'll be able to even think about bringing any muses back.

20. How do you overcome writer’s block?

I wait it out. My ability to write efficiently comes & goes like crashing waves on a beach. If I'm feeling writer's block, I usually just don't do anything until I finally feel that CLICK in my brain & all of a sudden I'm answering almost everything in one go. Sometimes I don't get hit with the will to write until it's like super late into the night, so I just do what I can. But, if you see me musing or brainrotting on dash with no actual writing for days, it just means I'm stuck in a brain fog with writer's block, but it's not that I'm purposely ignoring anyone or anything!

24. What about your muse are you most proud of?

Honestly???? Everything. But, if I'm here to be specific about one thing in particular, it has to be his growth away from Rei at last. His dependence on Rei went so deep, but he pulled himself out of it by facing Rei head on properly during the Repayment Festival. Koga never WANTED to show how much he relied on Rei, but every little subtle thing led straight to his dependence & reliance on the older boy. For a lot of the beginning half of the year's stories in ! era, Koga isn't often seen away from Rei, or the Light Music Club room where Rei would sleep. Even when he acted like he didn't need Rei, push Rei away or say he's a lone wolf, he was still so often with Rei. Rei noticed this too, of course, which is where the RockFes story begins to take its turn. Koga needed to find someone else to do it with on his own, which ultimately Rei still interfered due to filling Subaru & co in on it. But it's what Koga needed. It's later stories you begin to see Koga interacting more with the other second years & the beginnings of his friendships. But his persona was still very harsh. This is where the Repayment Festival begins its turn on him. What he truly needed was to allow others in. To stop pushing everyone else away. He accepted Adonis as his closest friend. He accepted Subaru & co as his friends. He even changed his tune with Arashi & others. His nicknames became less crass, he turned his tune around completely. By !! era, he's off doing his own things constantly. While he still cares about Rei & loves Rei, he's able to stand on his own two feet with nothing holding him back. He's warm. Still rough around the edges, but he's far FAR more his own person than latching onto Rei. So proud of him. Of course, Rei still means a lot to him, which is why like he was affected by Rei ignoring him so traumatically, but he doesn't NEED Rei. He's able to work things out on his own & stand proudly.
