I'll admit, I wuz skeptical when I heard there wuz gonna be a Black Label comic about Damian, but I'm diggin' it! It's highly stylized, an' it shows that Black Label can explore mature themes without them being lewd, crude, or edgelordy. Damian's a complicated an' traumatized person, an' I'm lovin' this dreamlike retellin' a' how he became more heroic. "Be Our Guest" original draft storyboards vs final film (💖)

The song was originally written by Ashman and Menken to be sung by the enchanted objects to Maurice instead of Belle. However, story artist Bruce Woodside felt that the song would make more sense if it was sung to Belle, the main character, as opposed to secondary character Maurice, and directors Kirk Wise and Gary Trousdale agreed.

With acknowledgement to David Willis of Shortpacked!, who did a similar joke based on Greg Capullo's art of the bat family in tuxedos way back in 2011.

If you ask why he's not mentioning any of the Batgirls, I'm pretty sure he hasn't formally adopted them, and also they obviously aren't clones of him. I'm convinced blonde hair is why he let Stephanie die that time.
