Let's talk about Desi representation again!!

I don't talk about this stuff often but when I do, I have some strong ass opinions

and yes I'm gonna be talking about none other than Pavitr Prabhakar at the end cuz he's just special to me <3

Hollywood is lagging behind on Desi representation

You'd think one of the biggest film industries in the world would be able to represent us properly, considering the fact that we make up the largest group of South-Asian Americans and the second largest group of Asian-Americans in the US, but instead-

Western Television forces Indians to conform to harmful stereotypes

Some of the most popular Desi characters on screen are Raj Koothrappali from the Big Bang Theory, Devi Vishwakumar from Never Have I Ever and Kelly Kapoor from the Office.

Indian men are almost always portrayed as robotics engineers and computer whizzes, but with terrible social intellect, making them seem like awkward nerds.

Indian women are almost always portrayed as "whitewashed", or wanting to appear more western, with zero understanding of their own culture or language along with an unrelenting need for attention from white friends/colleagues.

These are both based on stereotypes that Indian culture is "toxic" and "too traditional" and that Indians are only interested in studies.

Most Desi characters in western media have stories that are solely based around their ethnicity and/or racial stereotypes.

British television actually showcases a lot more representation than Hollywood does

I was watching Polite Society, a movie starring two Pakistani characters as the main leads, and there was a dance scene where both the leads are wearing traditional desi attire. My mom turned over, looked at me, and asked, "Is this Hollywood? It can't be."

And she was right. It's a British movie with British-Pakistani actors.

The reason she didn't believe that it could've been Hollywood was because the dresses the two leads were wearing were traditional and beautiful and the song playing in the background was authentic Hindi music, not some random westernized DJ version of it.

A Hollywood movie would've never dressed up their Desi actors in actually flattering attire (*cough cough the Patel twins from Harry Potter) or have used real, popular Desi music in the background.

You see my point?

It is so uncommon to see well-thought-out Desi representation in TV nowadays, where to see real diversity we have to watch movies made by the same country that colonized us.

Ironic.

British movies/shows with desi leads have far better South Asian representation than anything I've seen in Hollywood recently.

The Hollywood movies starring Indian leads, like Slumdog Millionaire or Bend it like Beckham were filmed in the UK, and because they were filmed in the UK, they had fantastic South Asian representation.

Not only does Hollywood refuse to create shows and movies about real problems that South Asians face, but they also don't cast South Asian actors in good roles.

When's the last time you saw a South Asian actor playing a character that wasn't a walking stereotype? When's the last time you saw a South Asian actor playing a character that was a genuine part of the story rather than just comedic relief or a random smart kid in the classroom?

Not often, right?

Me, personally, I didn't grow up with a lot of South Asian characters or actors in shows/movies that I watched. In fact, every time someone even close to my skin color showed up on TV, I was on the edge of my seat because it was just so rare to see it.

This is why representation matters.

You've heard about all the young girls with braids being so excited when the new little mermaid with Halle Bailey came out. Well, us desi kids wanted that too.

I wanted to see a Telugu speaking girl with wavy hair and dark skin who would wear traditional clothing to Desi get-togethers and parties, go to the temple with her family, eat vegetarian Indian meals, etc...

I wanted to see a character who was a representation of me and my experiences as an Indian-American. I wanted to see a character that was at least a representation of Indians or just South Asians in general.

Instead, we were given characters that ridiculed their own culture, were extreme stereotypes and furthered the existence of casual racism in western society today. So many Desi kids experience small acts of racism on a daily basis because people have been so desensitized to the existence of these stereotypes.

Telling South Asians that their culture is a joke and feeding non-asian children media which pokes fun at other cultures is harmful, not only to us South Asians but also communities that could end up being targeted next.

Pavitr Prabhakar; Representation Matters

If you've been following me or if we're mutuals, you probably know I have a tiny obsession with Pavitr Prabhakar. But why?

Because of all the reasons I just listed.

There are few South Asian characters us Desis can look up to these days, and Pavitr Prabhakar is one of the maybe two or three characters who have great writing, magnificent representation, and overall a fun vibe.

He's likable, funny, smart and best of all, unapologetically Desi.

He's just like all the other side characters, with a little bit of his own culture mixed in. He's not being shoved down our throats to further an agenda about fake diversity, he's not a walking stereotype and best of all, he was designed by Indian creators.

He's refreshing and exciting to follow in a world full of a demand for half-hearted representations and the people who created him were obviously putting their hearts and souls into it.

He's awoken a love for Indian culture amongst, not only Desi children themselves but also among westerners who, prior to this, had thought of India as a "3rd world" country, because that's the agenda that Hollywood pushes onto many South Asian countries today.

WE LOVE PAVITR PRABHAKAR!!

Notes: To the assholes who sent me all of those messages, I hope that you hate this chapter and feel unfulfilled after reading it. I hope that you hate it so much that you block me and never read my fic again. I almost just didn't post the update to tumblr cause of y'all <3

To the people who have been kind, I hope that you enjoyed this chapter! I introduced a new perspective much sooner than in the original version, and I think it helps to show that there were other things happening in the castle aside from just what the reader is seeing and living through.

With only four days remaining until the ball, the royal caterers had commenced their slow transformation of the castle's halls. In the center hall, a grand pine tree had been brought in and installed, now adorned with shimmering ornaments and velvety star-shaped garlands.

Elsewhere in the castle, numerous smaller trees, similarly decorated, dotted the corridors. Pine and holly wreaths, interwoven with winter blooms, adorned nearly every door while the expansive windows boasted fragrant green garlands.

The caterers had skillfully infused the spirit of yule into every wing, all while adhering to the color scheme that had been a tradition since long before Namjoon's birth. Though he wasn't always the keenest on the castle’s holiday festivities, he couldn't help but admire the craftsmanship of the caterers.

Now, as he stood there, gazing at the grand tree in the main hall, memories of his childhood flooded back. Everything seemed so much simpler then...

"Joon?" A voice called out from behind him, breaking through his thoughts. Namjoon turned to find his eldest brother standing a few paces away, his dark-haired fiancée clinging to his arm. Jin's expression clearly betrayed his discomfort and irritation, causing Namjoon to suppress the laughter bubbling up inside him.

It wasn't uncommon for his brother to wear his emotions so openly, but it always amused Namjoon nonetheless.

"Jin," he greeted his brother, approaching them slowly. "And Lady Woong," he added, giving her a small bow and pressing a kiss to the gloved hand she extended towards him. The elegant woman giggled and waved her hand in response, her cheeks flushing with a rosy hue.

"Prince Namjoon, there's no need to bow to me," Lady Woong cooed, and Seokjin rolled his eyes. Namjoon offered her a friendly laugh, though he harbored little fondness for her. He saw through her bubbly facade, just as Seokjin did. She was merely another pawn in their mother's schemes.

"We were headed to lunch, but I suddenly recalled our meeting that was scheduled a few days prior," Seokjin interjected, his body subtly angling away from his fiancée despite her embrace.

Namjoon cocked his head, knowing it was a lie - a convenient excuse for his brother to evade the discomfort of his lunch with Woong. Temptation gnawed at him to shake his head and leave Seokjin to endure Woong's company alone, as retribution for the prank his brother had played on him weeks earlier. He still felt the need to check under his pillow every night to ensure that were wasn’t a frog there.

However, Namjoon understood Seokjin's aversion to spending time with his fiancée. If their roles were reversed, Namjoon would want his brothers to lend a hand too.

With a nod, Namjoon offered Lady Woong an apologetic smile. "Forgive me, my Lady. Jin and I have an important matter to discuss. Would you mind if I stole him away for a while?"

Lady Woong pouted and released her grip on Seokjin. "Very well," she sighed, taking a step back from the brothers and smoothing down her peach-colored gown. "But do return him promptly when you're finished."

Namjoon nodded, though a twinge of irritation simmered within him. Who was she to dictate his actions? He was a prince, after all, while she was nothing. Engaging in an argument with her over such a trivial matter wouldn't be wise, but he struggled to suppress the scowl itching to emerge. He and Seokjin observed in silence as she brushed past them, making her way towards the southern wing, where her lunch awaited her.

Once she was out of earshot, Seokjin released a heavy sigh. "Thank you," he breathed, rubbing his shoulder. "She had me in an iron grip; I feared she might snap me in two." Namjoon chuckled at his brother's theatrics.

"Well, we'll have to stage a convincing chat now, in case one of Woong's minions catches sight of us," Namjoon suggested, nodding towards the northern wing. "Shall we sit for tea there? We're less likely to be disturbed, as no guests have arrived for the ball yet."

Seokjin hummed in agreement, and the brothers proceeded to the northern wing. Inside, maids diligently carried out their daily cleaning tasks. They bowed respectfully as the duo passed, but the brothers paid them no mind. After all, they were just maids.

At the end of the hallway, they halted at a pair of double doors. Seokjin pushed them open, a satisfied smile gracing his lips. "Already tidied up," he remarked, stepping inside. "No risk of maids spreading dust."

As Seokjin entered the room, Namjoon turned to a maid assisting a caterer in draping a long piece of purple garland around a portrait of their grandmother. "You," he addressed her, his tone firm. Startled, she looked up, her eyes widening in response.

Namjoon would never vocalize it, but sometimes he relished the fear he instilled in the servants. As the fourth prince in line for the throne, he possessed privileges but little power within the family. Occasionally exerting authority over those beneath him served as a gratifying outlet.

The maid promptly set the garland down and bowed, murmuring a hasty "Yes, sir." Namjoon scrutinized her briefly as she remained in a deep bow. There was something about her that sparked a flicker of recognition, though he couldn't quite place it.

Shaking his head to dispel the thought, Namjoon snapped his fingers to gain her attention. She straightened but kept her chin lowered, awaiting his next command. "Fetch us some tea," he instructed briskly. "There should be a crate from Shivermaw; bring that one."

Without waiting for her response, Namjoon strode into the warm room. Seokjin was already reclining on a spacious sofa by the tall window. As Namjoon drew closer, his brother straightened up.

"I thought you weren't fond of tea from Shivermaw," Seokjin remarked as Namjoon settled into the soft armchair to the left of the sofa. Namjoon offered a faint smile, though it failed to reach his eyes.

"Not the tea itself," he clarified, crossing his long legs. "It's the Duchess I take issue with at Shivermaw. Their tea, on the other hand, is rather delightful. We receive the finest peppermint from them."

Seokjin scoffed and rolled his eyes, a broad grin spreading across his plump lips. "With the way you go on about Damaris, one might mistake you as eager to marry her," he teased, draping his arm over the back of the sofa. "Tell me, little brother, should I plead with mother to arrange your marriage to Damaris before I tie the knot with Woong?"

Namjoon's jaw clenched, his gaze hardening as memories of the pale-skinned Duchess flitted through his mind. "I've made my feelings regarding the Duchess abundantly clear," he retorted firmly.

Sensing his brother's seriousness, Seokjin relented, opting to examine his fingernails instead of pressing further on the subject of Shivermaw or Damaris. A wise choice.

"Father requested to see me," Seokjin stated, paying little heed to Namjoon's reaction. Namjoon's breath caught in his throat, and he couldn't help but shift uncomfortably in his seat.

It was unusual for the king to seek out his sons unless the matter at hand was of utmost importance. All the princes understood that their father harbored no intentions of relinquishing the throne until his last breath. However, as the eldest of the seven, Seokjin stood as the primary heir to the crown.

Namjoon was aware that his brother harbored no desire to ascend to the throne of Erydia. Seokjin often spoke of a future where he resided in a grand estate nestled among the glittering lights and bustling social circles of Starwell's most affluent districts.

He couldn't envision himself thriving in such a role as king. Leading a vast kingdom would confine him within the castle walls for the remainder of his days, forever striving to appease the populace while evading potential assassination attempts.

Moreover, Seokjin lacked the knowledge and fairness required to rule the kingdom wisely—an admission he had made on numerous occasions. Years ago, he had expressed his unwillingness to inherit the throne to their father, resulting in a violent outburst from the king that left Seokjin with bruises and a split lip.

Their father's health was deteriorating rapidly. Both Namjoon and Seokjin sensed an imminent change looming, one that could materialize the moment their father's health declined to a critical point.

They shared an unspoken understanding that their father's summons to Seokjin was likely to discuss matters of succession.

Namjoon drew in a deep breath, his unease settling like a weight in the pit of his stomach. "You'll seek me out immediately afterward, won't you?" he inquired, his gaze flickering up to his brother's face.

Seokjin's expression remained stony and unreadable, but Namjoon sensed fear and discomfort beneath the facade. His brother would be venturing into this meeting alone, without the support of his siblings, and that realization left Namjoon feeling cold.

"Of course," Seokjin replied, tearing his gaze away from his nails to fixate on the coffee table before them, adorned with a solitary vase of silk flowers.

"Who knows," Jin murmured, his gaze growing distant as his thoughts undoubtedly raced through every possible scenario between him and their father. "Maybe I'll manage to persuade him to designate you as next in line."

It was no secret among Namjoon and his brothers that he was not only the most competent candidate for the throne but also the only one truly willing to embrace the responsibility. It demanded a level of quick decision-making for which Namjoon was uniquely suited.

Furthermore, Namjoon was one of their father's favored sons. Yet, for some reason, the king remained fixated on appointing Seokjin as his heir.

Namjoon opted not to reply to his brother; they both understood the uphill battle ahead. Their conversation was interrupted by a soft knock at the door, drawing their attention. Seokjin perked up, inviting the visitor to enter.

A moment later a curvy redheaded maid entered, pushing a small silver cart, her head bent respectfully. She released the cart and stepped to the side, bowing her body deeply. "Tea, Sir." she murmured softly.

This maid wasn't the one Namjoon had addressed earlier, but he recognized her nonetheless. She had been a fixture in the castle for some time, long enough for him to recognize her by face.

He knew she performed her duties well, enough that he seldom needed to reprimand her like he occasionally did with other maids.

"Very well," Namjoon acknowledged, gesturing for the maid to proceed into the room. She moved swiftly, arranging the table with the items from the cart—a porcelain teapot adorned with swirling pink flowers, matching tea cups, a plate of ginger cookies, and a small tray of pickled cucumber sandwiches.

"The castle's winter specialty," Seokjin quipped, eyeing the sandwiches with amusement. "Looks like the fresh cucumbers from Esteria haven't arrived yet." He leaned back as the maid began preparing their tea. The aroma of peppermint wafted through the air, and Seokjin found himself relaxing as he savored the sharp scent, his mouth watering in anticipation.

Once the maid had completed her task, she bowed once more. Neither Namjoon nor his brother bothered to offer thanks; she understood her place, and gratitude from those of higher status was unnecessary.

As the maid exited the room, wheeling the now-empty cart with her, the door clicked shut behind her. Namjoon reached forward and poured tea from the pot, serving his brother first before tending to himself.

Seokjin reached for a cucumber sandwich, emitting a satisfied hum as he chewed. "Truly, we have the most exceptional kitchen in the entire kingdom," he remarked between bites. Food always managed to lift his spirits and as he ate, thoughts of his impending meeting with their father faded.

Namjoon toyed with the idea of teasing that their kitchen had to be the best, lest their mother "dispose" of them. However, the atmosphere had finally lightened, and he knew that any mention of the Queen would only dampen the mood once more.

Namjoon savored a small sip of his steaming tea, releasing a breath infused with the refreshing scent of mint. Despite any rivalry with the duchess, there was no denying that the tea she sent remained unrivaled within the castle walls.

A comfortable silence enveloped the room as the brothers relished their afternoon tea, a rare moment of tranquility amidst their busy lives. With Seokjin's impending wedding, such moments had become increasingly scarce. Though Namjoon missed these times, he refused to grant his brother the satisfaction of admitting it; Seokjin would never let him hear the end of it.

For the past week, a nagging sensation had settled in Namjoon's stomach, warning him of impending change. He had initially attributed it to their father's declining health, but a gnawing suspicion signaled something more ominous.

Shaking off his unease, Namjoon averted his gaze to the dark liquid swirling in his cup. Dwelling on uncertainties would serve no purpose now, not when he finally found solace in the company of his brother. Later, after dinner, he would seek counsel from the Healer in the hopes of easing his lingering concerns.

Maybe she would have some answers for him.

You hum to the music playing in the car, Mike’s hard resting on your thigh as he drives through the quiet dark night in Albuquerque.

It’s 12am and the mission has just begun. To keep you awake, Mike insisted on stopping at McDonalds to buy a coffee. He knows you too well, and that you tend to get bored during these types of missions. You look at him, hoping to meet his blue eyes. And he does, even gives you a small smile too, before he focuses on the road again, his warm hand leaving your thigh and grabbing the steering wheel.

What type of relationship you and Mike have is a mystery. Apart from kisses and make-out sessions, you’ve been on two dates so far. But the work you both have makes it hard to be open about the relationship, especially since you two are colleagues and working for the drug kingpin Gustavo Fring.

You enjoy Mike’s company and he likes being with you, but he’s still pretty distant. You know he has a hard time shifting between his role at work and his role in private life.

When doing missions with him, he’s usually very stern and cold, just like he was before you got to know him. When you’re alone with him though, he’s very affectionate and caring.

You wonder what he’ll be like tonight.

“What are we doing again?”

You ask, breaking the comfortable silence between the two of you.

“We’re supposed to guard this one house, keeping track of movements in case our target makes any sudden move. And if we get the right opportunity, break into the house to gather some evidence.”

“I see. Sounds boring!”

“...Work is not supposed to be fun, y’know that.”

You chuckle, but realize it’s no point in telling him you’re joking around, instead you add:

“Maybe we can make it more fun.”

He stares at you, stunned by your bold move. But he quickly looks away again. It’s hard to see, but he has a hint of blush on his face.

“Keep it in your pants”

You let out a frustrated groan at his comment and Mike rolls his eyes. The car ride continues for about 10 minutes until he stops at an empty street, with the perfect view of a big house with the lights on. Mike already seems focused and you know it’s gonna be a long night…

At 2, there still hasn’t been a single movement from the house, and you are starting to get frustrated from boredom. Mike seems bored too, but unlike you, he’s a professional and doesn’t let his emotions get in the way. Too bad he’s partnered up with you for the mission…

Your hand sneaks from his knee, and up to his thigh. He jumps, a bit caught off guard with your sudden move.

“Y/n. Focus.”

He warns you but you only give him an innocent smile, squeezing his upper thigh. He grabs your hand and glares at you. He doesn’t seem impressed with your attempts to seduce him.

Sure you’ve only been “dating” for a month, but still, you want his attention. He tends to make you feel touch starved. Mike squeezing your thigh or pushing his tongue into your mouth is usually enough to rile you up and feel greedy for more. You guys haven’t had sex yet. You’ve done other stuff using hands and tongue, but never gotten to the “main event”.

After 15 minutes, the lights in the kitchen shuts off, and Mike reacts quickly, and observes the house. But nothing else seems to happen. The rest of the house is still lit up. You lean forward a bit, kissing Mike’s neck. You get a low growl in response.

“Fuck, y/n. Can you just…”

My Favourite J.T. Walsh Roles

Inspired by @tequilasunrise28 and her list!

Why Me? (1990) - Chief Inspector Francis Mahoney.

The first film I ever remember seeing him in. We rented it on video sometime in '91 or '92 and I loved every second of it! I always remembered the final scenes where he's trapped with his Deputy, Leon, on the 10th floor and getting progressively more angry at the situation! The no-nonsense attitude of Mahoney will always be up there in my top three of his roles. We love a character who takes no shit!

2. Tequila Sunrise (1988) - DEA Agent Hal Maguire.

We had this on a recorded VHS tape when I was a kid, along with The Cotton Club, and I wasn't allowed to watch either because they were 18s! When I eventually did watch it I was infuriated by Kurt Russell's character, Nick Frescia, helping his drug-dealer friend, Mel Gibson's Mac, escape a prison sentence by circumventing Hal's apprehension of him. I won't say how for anyone who hasn't seen the film, but Hal was totally done dirty! Myself and @tequilasunrise28 were so outraged, we collaborated on a fanfic for him!

3. The Negotiator (1998) - Inspector Terence Niebaum.

I saw this in July 1998, which was five months after he sadly died. I was 16 and utterly loved every second of the film. Full of great actors alongside our beloved J.T., you can definitely imagine that his career would have continued to ascend into bigger roles. I remember being devastated when his memoriam appeared at the end of the film, as it was only after seeing this film that I realised all of the other films and TV I'd seen over the years had actually included him. It was a great role for him where he wasn't entirely playing a scumbag and had just succumbed to the lure of a bit of cash to lose some records.

4. The Beniker Gang (1984) - Principal Arnold M. Stoddard.

One of his earliest roles in film and the meatiest he'd had at this point. He also isn't playing a bad guy which was so utterly refreshing! I only watched this in recent months and I was utterly hooked when I did! He plays such a wholesome character and is so softly spoken when dealing with the children, it's hard not to melt a little! I can't help but wish he'd played more of these sorts of characters...

5. Crazy People (1990) - Charles F. Drucker.

Less bad guy, more cold-hearted capitalist scumbag! My favourite scene will forever be the "I wanna know how the fuck the word fuck gets in the New York fucking times!". I saw this clip on TikTok and instantly had to find a copy of the film! I have no regrets and it is one of my favourites! I was also curious as to what his character’s past would have been like as he mentions starting his advertising career in Milwaukee, and I always wondered if he started out as this money-hungry company owner...

6. A Few Good Men (1992) - Lt. Col. Matthew Andrew Markinson.

A role he actually got to choose. Definitely not a bad guy role, and another role where I feel he was kinda done dirty as he felt the need to take the final action he did. Of all the Marine characters, his was the only one with the morals to actually do the right thing, despite what he knew it would cost him.

7. Outbreak (1995) - Whitehouse Chief of Staff.

A role that only lasted around four minutes and one scene, but it made such an impact that people to this day still talk about the passionate speech he gives in defense of the people they're discussing potentially bombing out of existence. This scene has also been immortalised on YouTube people love it so much!

8. Needful Things (1993) - Danforth Keeton III.

I just love this first scene he's in. A character with an inflated sense of self-importance and a chip on his shoulder about being called 'Buster'. He's not an inherently bad character, but he has a very large gambling addiction and succumbs to the temptations of the Devil in the hopes that he can win back some town money he gambled away. As he always did, he gave this character his all, truly excelling at highlighting the weakness of the character, despite the big, bold attitude he has in the beginning.

9. Breakdown (1997) - Warren 'Red' Barr.

Another big screen role that was beginning to open doors for him, he plays the sadistic kidnapper with uncanny ease. I feel sad that I didn't get to see this in the cinema, I saw it on video a few years later along with Pleasanville. Probably the role he's most remembered for outside of Good Morning, Vietnam and A Few Good Men.

10. Red Rock West (1993) - Wayne Brown/Kevin McCord.

Less a scumbag role and more of a 'I'm out for a quiet life with my embezzled money' role. Myself and @tequilasunrise28 have always wondered if his character was taken advantage of by Lara Flynn Boyle's character and he suspected she intended to off him so wanted to do the same first. Hardly a moralistic stance, but he does display some genuine concern for the people he works with when the young deputy is killed. I'll always wish we had a bigger backstory to his character...

Thomas Mikal Ford (September 5, 1964 – October 12, 2016) was an actor and comedian. He was known for his role as Thomas “Tommy” Strawn on Martin. He had a recurring role as Mel Parker in The Parkers. He was known for his role as Lt. Malcolm Barker on New York Undercover.

He was born in Los Angeles and raised in Long Beach. His mother worked as a school secretary and his father as a pipe fitter. He wanted to be a preacher. When he took drama lessons and started acting in high school plays, he decided to go into acting instead. After earning an AA from Long Beach City College, transferred to USC, where he graduated with a BFA in acting.

He received an NAACP Image Awards nomination in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

He played Ben Cummings in The Power of Passion as one of the characters whose wife cheats on him with the pastor. He was known as “The Pope of Comedy”, due to exposure as a judge on Bill Bellamy’s Who’s Got Jokes? In feature films, he appeared in Class Act and Harlem Nights, and he played Tommy Smalls. He was seen in Against the Law.

He directed and produced the play South of Where We Live. The play was performed at the Los Angeles Ebony Showcase Theatre. He directed the play Jonin”.

He co-hosted the Texas Gospel Music Awards. He founded a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization called Be Still and Know.

He wrote two inspirational books for children, titled Positive Attitude and I Am Responsible for Me. He spent time traveling to schools to inspire and empower children and encourage responsibility. He directed a documentary on bullying, entitled Through My Lens Atl. He was married to Gina Sasso (1997-2014). They had two children. He moved from Los Angeles to Kendall, Florida around 2001. first of all this is just what i needed um what is fanfic if not a vehicle to live out your daydreams anywho... something about moving to a big city and finding love is so fairytale-ish and magical and uGh. the more of these i do the more im starting to think we're all the same bc I RELATE SOME MUCH TO OC GTFO!! and that introduction made me so attached to her because there almost this childlike nature about her?? maybe childlike is the wrong wording but she has so much excitement and ambition, looks to the future with so much hope despite everything that she's been through. yeah. love her dearly will protect at all costs. and the way you contrasted this intro with the intro to the present day to show how now its not a daydream anymore n shes actually dealing w the reality of starting n moving somewhere new *chefs kiss*

and then just the pull towards eachother like this connection was legit fated was so fucking good. them taking care of eachother when they're drunk. hangover fucking soup :'). and then after everything with collin and jimin's spiraling they really needed eachother. like the stars aligned to set this pair up and its so comforting to read. BUT LIKE THE SLOWBURN MADE IT FEEL SO SO EARNED.
